Reviews of The Crown Tavern
K. L.
Went there for my sisters wedding after party party
Great place, customer service was fantastic. You can brings pets. Great variety of alcohol and mixers.
Around 6pm the tavern got relatively quiet.
Wish they did play some music louder but oh well

I booked The Crown to have a meal for 7 after a funeral. I arranged that we could park our cars and we could go to the Funeral Directors. We came back to the Crown to have our meal and ordered off the menu. The staff were very accommodating, the food was lovely and it was hot. We were never hassled and the atmosphere was just right for us all to chat. A nice experience all round.

Relaxing beer garden - food smells great!
My brother and I went back last week for an evening meal - wow! I had pork and apple sausages with veg in the most amazing, tasty sauce. Absolutely delicious. The staff are sooo friendly and go the extra mile. It’s dog friendly too, Ted loved the attention! Ticking all the boxes so far . . .
j. R.
Lovely, friendly pub. Really nice food & friendly service, although you have to order through the app, which was a bit of a pain, (much prefer table orders being taken). However, really enjoyable garden with heaters.
S. F.
Best outdoor seating setup in the area - safe, warm and dry. Good service. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the food, although perfectly good, is a bit too expensive for what it is
L. W.
This is a post lockdown review. Went for dinner on 3-Aug with wife and son. Food was well prepared, nicely presented and tasty; the staff were extremely pleased to see us. The pub has good social distancing rules so no problem with hygiene. Still a little bit empty and staffing levels are low but it looks like a recovering business.
L. O.
We had a great evening at the Crown. The bar staff were friendly and helpful and the food was really tasty; I was particularly impressed by the meat-free burger. It was quiet enough on a Wednesday night that we were able to socially distance really well from others. The outdoor area looked fab and had blankets and heaters.

Lovely place, really friendly staff. Cater for all types of events. My brother held his wedding reception here and it was lovely! The food was excellent and portions were very generous for any wedding reception I've ever been to before! I know most people would not choose a pub venue in the first place for their wedding reception, but would honestly say, this was very well catered for, executed brilliantly and could not fault the venue, staff or food in the slightest! 👍🏽👌🏽👏🏽 Have been here before for a different function and the experience was that good that we came back. Good parking facilities. Has indoor and outdoor facilities. Would recommend.

I feel like I got catfished on the bramley apple & fig crumble. It was a crumbled up biscuit and the custard was more like a vanilla instant pudding mix. I couldn't taste any apple or fig either. The most painful part was that it cost £6.50. I'm still in shock. and yes I'm still bitter about it lol.
I leave four stars because I truly like this pub and am a long-time customer. Sunday roasts are decent, and I love how dog-friendly they are. But it has to be said...
J. S.
Great pub and restuarant in Lee, London. Serves a good selection of beers, wines and spirits. Also an excellent menu including a good kids menu including vegetarian options. Dog friendly and dogs welcome in the bars. Covered outside seats in the garden. Good disabled access.

Interesting establishment. Excellent food, not a huge selection but it didn't matter. spotless kitchen, visible to customers and immaculate toilets. A slightly confused 'theme' if such were needed, but the old maps as embellishment on the walls was a good idea and well found. All in all a good place to visit and though I was there for a sombre reason (post funeral gathering) the service was bright and helpful, especially when there was a slight mix up with the catering (NOT the fault of the establishment). Happy to go again if circumstance brings me this way once more....
Thank you.

One of the best local pubs around, great drinks and amazing food, with the best staff… always good vibes and very nice outdoor heated area…
P. H.
Visited for Sunday lunch. Service was relaxed and attentive. Food was very good (decent sized portions, served fresh and hot). Our table was in the conservatory at the rear of the pub, which lacks a little atmosphere, but the tables are well spaced and the place was not crowded like some of the other pubs on a Sunday. I would happily recommend.
M. A.
We always enjoy our time here and Tyne atmosphere is always nice.
Food s been better in the past
M. C.
Lovely place, Food is great, drinks are quite expensive but would definitely go again

I want to give The Crown a 5 star review but I will explain why I haven't. I am an ex publican. I am saddened to see my old industry in decline. Taxation is a huge problem. As is greed of breweries and publicans. I know they price to reflect an area or to deter certain types of drinkers. I am an ex drinker so now only drink 0%. I ordered a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc and 2 x 300ml bottles of Heineken 00. Cost? £22.00!!!! This is excessive and bordering on robbery. No wonder people are choosing to avoid pubs and drink at home. That aside, the rest of my visit was fantastic!! Lovely atmospheric surroundings. Top class staff. And the roast dinner is in my humble opinion one of, if not, the best roast I have eaten. I dined with 7 other people. Everyone raved about the food and service. I don't live in the area, but I will be traveling back to The Crown to eat but probably will only drink coffee or water.
C. R.
A lovely pub with a spacious and airy dining room at the rear. We went yesterday to try the roasts - unfortunately they were disappointing in that the meats were overcooked (both the beef and pork we ordered).
D. F.
Fish and chips was excellent. Crispy batter. Its a very nice pub with a noce out door area. Continues to be overpriced for what you are getting and the area, else.it would be busier.
D. P.
Was there yesterday had best big roast dinner for years roast potatoes was like mum makes fluffy in the middle and crispy on the outside Yorkshire pudding with his biggest as the plate very generous portions well done to the chefs the atmosphere was lovely the staff couldn’t do enough I was with five friends & my grandson we was having trouble with the highchair but straight away the staff sorted it out for us we were so full after dinner we couldn’t choose from the desert menu but we are definitely going back so next time ...definitely recommend pub very reasonably priced
C. R.
Took the mrs a few weeks ago , the food and service was 5 stars easy ..
Unfortunately yesterday I took my children and daughter inlaw for a Sunday roast .... no chicken , no pork , long waiting times , extremely disappointed.
R.
A bit disappointed (but the staff were very proactive to sort the issue out, which was appreciated).
Veggie burger and chips arrived tepid and returned to the kitchen. Also, given the cost, I thought the portion size was pretty stingey (particularly when compared to the roast dinners that my friends were having).
The kid's meal of cheesy/tomatoey pasta had the peas mixed in, *please* keep the peas separate in future. The tomato sauce was just some watery tinned toms. There was a very light sprinkling of cheese. And the cost? £7 😒
The staff were friendly and helpful, but there were a couple of mistakes made (including waiting 30 mins for a drink to be delivered), but it was a busy Saturday afternoon.
K. U.
Had a quick lunch date here today. 1st time eating there and eating this type of food. I muss say, service was great but food was greater 🤗 I'm sure we will visit again.
W. K.
Great place to eat and drink, was invited to a wedding here and had a private area with a bar, very nice area. Food was great as well as the drinks selection
G. T.
Nice pub for drinks but as a coeliac was not impressed with the menu.
Not much choice and the short ribs was the only hot meal available but very fatty. My husband had a chicken and leak pie which he said was very nice. Good service and out door area very nice for a summer evening.
D. P.
This pub has an amazing space, the old pub plus the new conservatory and other areas are a really high standard, the front garden is super as well, and we found that all the staff were so great and so helpful. It's a Youngs Pub, I've always found the food at Youngs a bit the same and boring, they should let their in house chefs be more creative I think...
Overall the 3 or 4 times we've been we've always really enjoyed it.
M. W.
Great atmosphere and very nice interior. Staff were very kind and food was very quick. Would recommend the cod and chips!
J. H.
Brilliant and a great environment. Staff were also very good and efficient. Always look forward to going there
N. P.
Lovely pub, great architectural design for their extension which creates a lovely atmosphere. Good food and service, had a steak here and it was cooked very well for a pub lunch.
M. W.
Lovely place and really friendly staff would recommend to others great food aswel 👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
D. H.
Top notch food and drink, all served with impeccable service
J. M.
I recently moved to SE12. This is a very nice and comfortable place indeed, I immediately thought of having my birthday party here but then I saw the prices, £32 for a bottle of Prosecco which I know is more than many West End places as it's the only thing I drink when I'm out. Even the smaller pub, with equally nice atmosphere down the road near Lee station charges only £25 a bottle. If i order 20 bottles for my birthday party in The Crown Tavern I'd have to pay £140 more.
G. M.
Booked to go in for a post-lockdown roast. Fantastic food, staff were very attentive and safety-conscious. The garden is great, a number of tables out in the sun but also a good few under cover in cast of rain. Treat yourself and pay a visit!
E. M.
A really nice, cosy pub/restaurant, ideal for families, great food and friendly service.
A. G.
Only our first visit as we are new to the area. Very nice pub with friends staff and lovely food. I'm sure this rating will go up in time!
N.
Not usually one to write a review but I wanted to give a special shout out to the Crown Tavern for the wonderful staff and their hospitality. Came here recently with a friend and we were both welcomed with professionalism and kindness. The food was superb and service was outstanding with staff keeping a close eye on us all night, happy to accommodate any of our needs. Great pub for locals with a relaxed atmosphere and serene environment. Looking forward to my next visit!
M. R.
I'm a massive fave normally but food wasn't up to scratch today. Such a shame because we love it here
A. W.
Love this place. Food has always been spot on, beer selection good. Order and pay via app, delivery is always speedy, staff great. Thanks Crown. Young's on tap app not the best, but it works and not appropriate for this review.
A. B.
Big, clean, well laid out venue. Menu is a little limited but food we had was fine. Staff helpful and cheery. Choice of indoor and outdoor seating.
T. L.
Great food. Sunday roast was delicious 😋
D. E.
Great pub, for a clean and very family friendly atmosphere! We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch, the pork belly was honestly one of the best ive ever had! Very friendly and a tentative staff, plus the smell of an open fire in the back ground, turned a regular Sunday afternoon lunch into a real treat!
P. M.
Superb food as always. Service was fantastic
F. H.
My new local! Not sat at the bar yet (covid) but beer garden was great and food looked delicious. More than £6 a pint is bloody expensive though. This is Grove Park not SoHo
g. h.
Great venue food was excellent will definitely be coming back
J. R.
We had The crown trio and Mushroom Wellington roast dinners. Cannot fault them, thoroughly enjoyed the food, really was the best roast I have had in a very long time.
Clean, safe, friendly staff and just a great feel to this pub. Thank you!
t. b.
Had a great evening. Restrictions in place but it was ok. Felt like we was abroad with the table service....the waiter and waitress were efficient and truly lovely and made sure we were well looked after with our needs. Couple of mishaps when paying by card after each round, but was rectified immediately when we pointed out the mistakes. All in all it was a nice pub to meet friends, eat or just drink. Don't be put off by the restrictions as it doesn't interfere with a good evening. Well done and keep it up.
J. J.
We had our wedding here, from the start of our planning process to the end the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. On the day of the wedding staff were very attentive to the needs of our guests (including bringing up hot drinks)
The day before our wedding we were allowed to come in and decorate the rooms, we hired the dining room and the Francis Baring room upstairs for our evening reception/party.
Food orders were correct and delicious we had a range of roast chicken and beef for adults and burgers and pizzas for the children. We had no complaints from our guests. The portion sizes were very generous. Only thing that I can say could be improved was the timing of bringing out the food, a few guests thought it was a bit slow.
Upstairs in the Francis Baring room, bar staff were friendly and smiley.
Overall I would recommend The Crown Tavern Lee for an event space.
Thank you again to all of The Crown Tavern staff for a fantastic afternoon/ evening.
Janelle and Pete

Amazingly great food, excellent friendly staff great atmosphere
P. K.
Nice pub but the staff need better training
S. D.
Great food, good service and its my local.
S. B.
Nice open spaces with good food and friendly staff.

Had a wonderful meal with friends I. This very pleasant pub . Large restaurant tables in a purpose built extension but we choose to eat in the bar itself. Since this pub had money invested in a complete new revamp it a very pleasant place to gave a nice meal or just a drink if you wish . The beer garden is at the front and you don’t even notice the traffic which isn’t too bad at all . The food is very nice especially the steak which I always have . It’s pet friendly unless you take in a 13 foot snake in which case their probably not . All jokes aside This is a lovely pub with a nice selection of beers and ales with a lovely calm atmosphere. I recommend this pub
M. T.
Lovely food good selection of beers great garden and 🐕 freidly
D. D.
Lovely pub with a beautiful decor. Nice friendly feel inside and out.
J. H.
Food was delicious friendly staff will be back
P. C.
Big portions, well-cooked, maybe a touch overpriced. Friendly staff, a bit chilly near the windows in the dining room. Good-sized tables.
N. T.
Nice staff ok food nice venue
J. W.
Visited with the family yesterday for mother's day lunch. Food was tasty and plentiful. Service with a smile and a friendly chat, Decor is fresh and modern, with two lovely gardens (too cold for us yesterday). Price reasonable for what we had. I'm delighted to know that my dog is welcome too. Thanks for a lovely meal. Will definitely be back (If you will have us).
P. S.
Really enjoyed 1st time there, cannot wait to go back and have already booked, going to make sure we order food next time food and menu looked gd, plus very gd service 😀
C. H.
I used to love it here when I lived a little more locally. It's a little off the beaten track so tends to be quiet which suits me, and we used to visit all the time. I was disappointed a few weeks ago when we popped in for old times sake, and despite it being fairly quiet I stood at the bar being ignored for a few minutes and then watched as somebody who arrived after me got served first so we left empty handed. Time to find a new favourite pub.
W. W.
Plenty of parking, the building very interesting and stylish. The sausage and mash that my companions had looked great but I had the Romanesque salad. Wasn’t expecting it to have been quite so small sitting n the bottom of a fancy bowl. I think this needs a bread roll or artisan bread with it to make it worth the £6 I paid. Otherwise it was fine.
O. J.
Really nice, app was a bit flakey but staff were really helpful and food was awesome. Great selection of drinks and not too bank breaking.
C. W.
Good food and the staff were awesome. Highly recommended!

We have had two corporate functions there, one at Christmas and one in the Summer. Both have been in the Francis Baring room and each time has been fantastic! The event management team particularly Sam and Jason are very organised, friendly and very accommodating. Our staff complemented the food for our Christmas meal and we played our own music and gave a presentation which they had the facilities for! We have no complaints and about to plan our third visit. Thank you The Crown!
E. N.
The Crown have worked hard to ensure they are Covid sensitive with one way systems, table and app service, sanitiser stations and check and trace.
The staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was very nice with fresh ingredients and taking advantage of the 'eat out to help out' makes it quite cheap to eat out as well!
F.
Large airy gastropub. Food was good. Plenty of space despite being a Friday night on the lead up to Christmas. Have to question why loud music was necessary in the area where you have a sit down meal with friends. Don’t often get the urge to get up and dance while in the middle of eating (a very large) cod and chips...
M. P.
Fantastic food and service from a great team.
Initially when the pub opened the food was average for a high price. Since then there is a new head chef who provides amazing food at reasonable prices. I can not speak highly enough of them. The surroundings, decor and eating area are very smart and we'll thought out and makes for a nice place to have a chilled drink and bite to eat. Well worth a visit.
M. B.
Nice and big space, good Sunday roast but a bit expensive
N. B.
Started good, sadly dissapointed when we left.
Visited yesterday to meet a friend for a catch up, we were both briefed on Covid steps and their extensive one way system.
We both thought we had aheared to it, upon leaving what was an empty and very large establishment we walked passed the Manager and said good goodbye and were literally told off like naughty children for apparently not following his one way system, we were surprised to say the least as we assumed we had, it did to be honest dull what was a nice afternoon. Such a shame
M. W.
Myself and my partner very much enjoyed The Crown, we have been many times and will definitely be going back,The service as always was really very good.
R.
Very relaxed pub with good service. Pretty dog friendly, which is always nice. Decor is great, makes the place feels warm and inviting. They even provide blankets for you if you want to sit in the beer garden.
L. S.
On arriving staff could not find the booking. Then we were sat in a room with no other customers hence no atmosphere other than our own. Took a while to get served then drinks took a while to arrive. Food was average. Wouldn't go again.
S. S.
The last couple of times we've been up here the food has been lovely. We've just had a Sunday roast for the first time and it was really good, the chicken, pork and nut roast were all delicious! The atmosphere is usually cosy despite being a pretty spacious pub, and we haven't seen it too busy at all yet. There's also a nice big garden out the front for the summer. We live just around the corner and will be coming back more and more I'm sure.
p. m.
The pub has a great vibe with amazing food with good portions for their price. The bangers and mash i had was well seasoned and creamy mash. I will be ordering again, next time i visit i will try the classic cod and chips meal, which my family loved.
G. M.
Really nice place and clean. I did think the food was pricey. Had fish and chips £14 with a small amount of chips probably about 10! Had the same at a pub up town and it was £12 so yes the prices need to come down! Apart from that it a nice place. More staff needed as well waited ages to be served.
M. D.
Slow service but our waiter was very apologetic and handled everything expertly.
A.
One of the best pubs in the area. It is a Fullers, but offers other guest ales (I had an excellent All Day IPA by founders).
Very nicely decorated, modern but cosy. Spacious with booths by the window, a large enclosed garden and big separate dining area. Staff v friendly, pub is also child and dog friendly. Also has a carpark.
My only issue is that whilst food is great, it is on the pricey side.
P. A.
Came here to meet friends - I've never been to the area before, and was pleasantly surprised by this new pub. Me and my friends decided to pop in for a beer, they had a good range and the ales were on point. We decided we would stay for some food, we moved from the garden to the dining area and all ordered roasts.
We decided to have a chicken, beef, pork and vegetarian. All the meats looked and tasted great, I had the beef and it was lean and tender and was perfectly rare (as requested). The vegetables were cooked well (not too hard, not too soft). That ale gravy as well, delicious. My veggie friend agreed that the potatoes were delicious (ours were done in goose fat so we couldn't really tell). All in all it was a great experience which was enhanced by the lovely decor and attentive staff.
We paid and then went back to the garden and drank wine till the sunset. We shall be making the journey south again!
G. W.
Service really slow, and 3 young children in our party so made our lunch stressful . 2 extras missed off of the main course order and we had to ask twice for more tap water and 3 times for the bill . I appreciate the pub was busy as it is Mothers Day but the staffing levels should have reflected this . Previous trips here have been good which is why we returned with extended family but I doubt we'll visit again.
K. P.
Food mostly OK, although I'm not keen on lunch menu. Never too crowded, plenty of seating inside and out with booths, tables and sofas available. There's also a restaurant but you're welcome to have food in the pub bit. Sunday roast is alright but a bit pricey.
C. A.
Great food but had to wait a long time for service because a friend only ordered a starter rather than a large meal but I ordered a main and no starter and they waited almost an hour before realising I did not want to wait
G. E.
Great atmosphere on a Thursday evening. Plenty of socially distanced tables. Staff friendly and efficient table service. Beavertown Neck Oil on tap!
M. T.
Will give the company the benefit of doubt as the food was great and the garden was nice but I booked 3.30 Saturday 30/03/2019 was told by Jason it was booked till 4.30 I asked for earlier time slot and was told it was fully booked. I went there around 2.30 and the pub was not busy and i was able to get a table (I could choose many in fact) maybe there was some confusion something. Overall, I will go again.
J. S.
I booked an area for my birthday recently and it was FANTASTIC!!
We were so looked after and I was made to feel very special on my birthday! The staff were always on hand to help especially Alix, Alana, Ben and Mark. The food was great, arrived quickly and was delicious! It was our first visit to the newly refurbished pub and we were very satisfied customers! Me and my friends have all decided to return again and again.
Couldn't recommend enough! Go and try it out!
D. J.
Three of us had the roast - chicken, lamb and beef. Very good service. Chicken was dry, beef and lamb were very good. Vegetables were cooked well but roast potatoes were awful. Might go back again - nice, clean environment and lovely garden area with shade.
L. L.
I like this place, very family environment.
I wouldn't recommend to have any food here, as it is over price, the food has no flavour and it is tiny portions special the roast diners you pretty much pay for a plate of kale and potatoes which taste nothing.
My partner asked for the roast Lamb £17, honestly the food portion was bad, there was about 4 potatoes and the rest was just kale, I had fish and chips £14, there were about 8 chips on my plate, the fish had no taste. Super over priced. Come one management team you are in south Lewisham and not Cityof London
But as I said it is a lovely place to have a drink a catch up with friends and you can bring your dog 😍, plenty of space available and the staffs are always great
If the food was better and cheaper I would defenitly come more regularly
m. m.
Great to be back in the pub after all the shenanigans of lockdown
They’ve made a few sensible adjustments, safe and comfortable - I reckon the food and service is even better than before!! Although that might be because absence makes the heart grow fonder 😀
C. W.
Good selection of food and drink, with a really pleasant atmosphere. I have eaten here several times now, and have always found the food to be delicious. Staff are friendly as well!
K. B.
Relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. We arrived just a minute or so after they stopped taking orders for lunch, therefore we ordered from the bar snacks menu. The food was very greasy and the portions small. Not something I would order again.
R. n.
Fabulous pub with really friendly and helpful staff and a lovely beer garden
M. A.
Tasty neck oil IPA....
The pie was a bit too salty but on the whole 8/10
C. S.
Good choice of beers and Aspall cider on tap. Food is very popular. Includes a dog station (biscuits and water). V clean pub, friendly staff and pleasantly decorated. The beer garden is also popular with tables for eating. They do outdoor BBQs too. The night we went they had a great band doing covers which was going down well. A lovely local for the whole family!
J. M.
Staff were really friendly, food was decent. Only negative would be that some of the menu items weren't available but that's not a massive problem. Would recommend. Very child friendly.
A. K.
Good old English Pub. Very huge inside and have got ample of parking. Sunday roast and dinner menu also available. Good place for a family visit.
L.
I was attending a funeral wake; the food was excellent, various meat and vegetarian options. Plenty of parking and friendly staff. Didn't use the loos, so can't comment on them.
D. P.
Poor Service, horrible steak. Not going again
P. C.
First time there since the refurbishment. It was a warm night so we sat outside. Plenty of beer options but they ran out of Doom Bar. They also cleared the garden around 10.00. A nice place for a few pints.
L. T.
Very nice old and spacious Youngs pub. I was very disappointed to find the only stout available was Guiness when Youngs brew a very fine Porter of their own. It seems English Porters and Stouts are being squeezed out by the mass marketing and presumably cheap deals by the 'Big Brewers'.
M. B.
5 of us for dinner.
A little understaffed.
All 5 of us loved our food.
I lived the steak pie. And the duck had a happy customer.
Can't fault it.
Well done tattooed chef.
C. S.
Always enjoy coming here. Friendly staff, good food and a really nice ambience about the place whether you're in the restaraunt or the pub side. The garden is great in the summer as well.
W. L.
Friendly service, and great food. Nice outside area with heated lamps
K. F.
The Crown was friendly and cosy nicely decorated very spacious with a very large sheltered beer garden staff were welcoming and attentive. We had Sunday roast which was excellent I would recommend a visit
N. R.
Lovely big pub with nice drinks, food and atomosphere. Sadly the carpets are rather dirty including the ones upstairs where baby classes are held.
V. V.
Great food. Wasn't expecting that from a chain
M. P.
we will be back. great food
L. A.
Well what can i say! Great pub in a great location.. the refurbishments the owner has done on this place are amazing. The setting and decor provides a great social environment. The service and staff were exceptional! very reasonable prices! Delicious cold beer and tasty cocktails! The owner is a true gentleman! I have since visited this establishment quite a few times! Great vibe at this place makes meeting new people easy!! the food was also amazing! I had the roast pork, tender and succelent the crackling was to die for!!! I highly reccomend the crown to all! You will see me there most afternoons! 5 stars!
J. K. (. J. P. K.
I remember when this pub used to be full, when I was a lot younger. The pub is a beautiful building and the garden is nice, the decor on the inside is good. however, I cant say I have ever been in the place and seen more than 6 patrons in six or seven visits. The main problem here is that there are no bar stools, there is a sterile empty looking strip of black lino in front of the long bar, but it looks completely uniniviting for those who prefer to stand next to the bar, and the fact there are no stools is a complete put off. It doesn't have a pub atmosphere, and does not seem to be the kind of place where people go to meet up or meet people. How this place makes money beats me....there is so much they could do as far as events etc. to fill the place up again. My advice, get some stools in....

First Class Restaurant - Myself and my two Sisters met for lunch at this newly refurbished Restaurant on Saturday 26 September . On arrival at the restaurant we were greeted by an extremely friendly Gentleman who gave us a choice of were we would like to sit (we later realised this gentleman was the Owner)
The shabby Chic decor makes the restaurant look fresh and really cosy.
Our first impressions when we first saw the menu was "It's different" we chose the following, and we were each blown away
Duo of Devon lamb,
(pan seared rump & a slow roasted lamb shoulder shepherd’s pie, charred courgettes, minted baby leeks)
Young’s Ale battered cod,
triple cooked chips, mushy peas, tartar sauce and charred lemon
The food was Exquisite and sensibly priced.........The Staff were also very friendly. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone
J. L.
Great pub, good selection of beers, staff are super friendly. Very dog friendly, lots of treats and water available. Our dog is always spoilt rotten
B. G.
Big beer garden welcomed us on a sunny October day. Friendly staff and good food from a varied menu. Thumbs up.
S. g.
Only visited the room upstairs for a wake, but all the staff were respectful and the place seemed well decorated, large and ver nice. Prices seemed very much central london prices but other than that a very nice pub.
D. W.
£10.70 for a ginger beer, and a fancy lemonade and 27 chips! But you can take your dog in with you, and the pub itself is beautiful.
C. P. Y.
atmosphere was great, specially on a sunny day. had Sunday roast, was good but felt they could have been more generous with the beef.
r. m.
Beautiful pub, good food and lovely staff. I will definitely come. I recommend to book a table for the Sunday
P. S.
Very nice food.
P. A.
food was very nice, second time we have had a Sunday lunch here, However
the vegetables always seem cold or only slightly warm, also seem to be hard not soft at all
M. B.
Really nice pub with bright and airy dining room. Good food and range of beers, at a reasonable price.
R. A.
We hired a room for our family funeral on Friday afternoon and the service was amazing by Sam the Manager and the young man behind the bar
They had so much to do but were so capable and lovely
The buffet food was well cooked and tasty
Thank you so very much !
J. M.
Went to a wedding reception with a roast dinner upstairs the welcome was great, food was very tasty and the pub itself had a nice feel about it which helped make the afternoon very enjoyable.
M. C.
Good food lovely big garden

I have been to The Crown many times in the past and always had a lovely time. On Tuesday, 9th April 2019 we held my late mum's Celebration of Life there in an area cauldroned off near the fireplace. I would like to say a 'huge' thank you to Jason Woodger and his team for doing us proud. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you so much. Best regards Dawn Freeman

Local pub, good beer, good food, outdoor garden with heaters, covered booths with heaters, important in Covid times
J. B.
Great pub great staff good disabled fercilities for ♿

The door that goes out to the smoking area needs a door closer on it as when we were sitting close to the door on the inside people kept leaving it open and it was quite a cold draft when we were eating we had to keep closing it after everyone who went outside.
This was the door upstairs leading to the balcony...not downstairs!!!
D. N.
Not bad at all, the food is good and great place for a chat with friends. Cosy inside and lovely outside area in the summer.
H. O.

For a chain pub it's ok. Beer selection is limited but you can reliably get a Beavertown Neck Oil which is ok.

Service really slow, and 3 young children in our party so made our lunch stressful . 2 extras missed off of the main course order and we had to ask twice for more tap water and 3 times for the bill . I appreciate the pub was busy as it is …
C. S.
Good choice of beers and Aspall cider on tap. Food is very popular. Includes a dog station (biscuits and water). V clean pub, friendly staff and pleasantly decorated. The beer garden is also popular with tables for eating. They do outdoor …
