Reviews of The Cutty Sark
B. B.
Beautiful pub with a great view of the river so it has a great atmosphere. Lovely food too - it tasted very fresh. We had the crab and mozzarella to start, and the vegan burger, chicken salad and fish & chips. The fish was SO crispy and delicious! It was all very tasty and I’m looking forward to going back

Definitely recommend booking a table here to eat. The food was absolutely divine and not extortionately priced. The staff and the customer service was impeccable they were so helpful to us. It's a unique setting with a stunning view of canary wharf over the River. Suitable for adults and children. Good choice of food and drinks. Certainly 5 stars worth.

I had a great experience on Christmas Day at The Cutty Sark. The whole atmosphere was great, the pub is young and vibrant with a beautiful view over the Thames & Canary Wharf. Service was ace, the Christmas Menu was really well balanced and nicely prepared. I will definitely recommend this pub both for regular visits or special events: they know how to deliver! I will be back

We booked the separate dinning area for a family celebration for 25 people. There was a good choice on the menu and lots of vegetarian options. We had a dedicated waitress for the duration and she was amazing (thank you so much Joss, you made the evening run so smoothly. Your a real asset to the team. Sorry I didn't get a chance to thank you personally at the end of the night).
The food was amazing and everyone enjoyed their meals. The portions are generous and good value for money. Thank you to all the staff to making it a memorable evening.
Highly recommend this pub/restaurant. I recommend you book at busy times as it's popular for a reason. The views on the Thames are pretty impressive too
B.
Best Sunday roast in Greenwich without a doubt! Great outdoors vibe in summer. Cozy vibes inside in winter and always a great seasonal menu. Very friendly staff. Very dog friendly and I have a very large dog!
A. S.
Good gastropub. Classic British dishes such as venison steak made well. The service was very friendly, and the atmosphere queit and relaxed.
S. Y.
Very average experience. Booked a table for anniversary but ended up sharing with some smoking guests right next to us. Told us to order through the app but didn’t bother explain in details at all. We then asked to sit inside and order with the staff which was accommodated at least. The starters were okay, hummus lacks a little seasoning, duck salads was tasty but needed a tad more dressing. Mains were also average, the plaice was served soaked in the oily dressing. No flavour at all. The burger was slightly overcooked , as we didn’t get asked how we would like our burger. The potatoes on the side were nice. The vegan risotto was delicious tho. All in all, it was a very average experience . The staff could have been more friendly at the beginning. Would only come back for a drink with the view , definitely not for dinner.

A nice setting on the Thames, we had a Sunday roast and was seated on the second floor by the window, so had a view over the river and people watching, which was needed as waiting an hour to be asked what food we wanted was a little long in my opinion. The food was OK and the prices were the typical London over price it averaged £35 for four which was a starter to share a roast each and a drink each.
H. B.
Beautiful decor. Great food. Good drinks and selection. Conveniently located close to many of Greenwich's main tourist attractions. Make sure you book though. Very busy. Doubtful if walk-ins will get a table, especially over weekends.
A. C.
Great views overlooking the Thames River. Food was generous and service was good albeit a bit pricey. Highly recommend the Chef's Roast which is a combination of roast chicken, beef and pork if you can't decide what Sunday Roast to have. Also ordered the kid's fish and chips, which was a bit greasy but a very generous portion.
D. L.
Good price, great location in Greenwich. Stopped for a beer and sandwich. Broccoli 🥦 side dish was delicious
M. S.
One of our favourite historical pubs in London at large. Great beer, loverly setting and friendly staff. Travelled down from Yorkshire for the day and lunch out. More expensive than Yorkshire but the food is very good and worth it for a treat.
J. S.
The food is really good and medium priced and worth it , the service is good everyone was lovely. We were lucky to get a table by a window when I asked. And the view is so nice cause by the river . And we could just sit outside and have our drinks . I would definitely come back again
E. S.
After really unpleasant experience in Enderby pub, me and my partner walked down the Cutty Sark and we were nothing but extremely happy with the service in here.
Host was extremely accommodating as we explained our situation. We received nothing but top notch service. Food came in really timely manner and was absolutely divine. Highly recommend this place.
J. M.
Excellent food. A very busy pub in Greenwich. Lovely views over the river. Excellent service. We weren't hurried at all even though tables were full and people were waiting. Delicious Sunday roasts.
S. M.
Super cosy pub! Good choice of food on the menu, great if you want a hearty meal!
Visited on a busy Saturday evening and they squeezed us in and gave us a perfect table on the top floor over looking the Thames.
Our waitress, Grace, was very attentive! She gave recommendations and was very friendly, she made our experience even more enjoyable.

Wedding Reception - 12th November 21
Thank you to all the staff who made our wedding reception so perfect. The team couldn't do enough for us and we're so friendly from booking through to service on the night. The Private Room on the top floor was fantastic and they decorated it beautifully for us. Great food, drinks and service and everything was boxed up and ready for us to collect the following day.
Can't recommend more for a small intimate wedding.
Thanks again - from Kate & Oscar.
J. H.
Amazing food fab time. My kids loved it. They made a minor error and the staff were so so so nice. I mean i hate leaving this review as its so popular already i dont want more people to go. As i love it. Golden find
N.
It was cold, we needed warmth. 2 stars for a fireplace. For my experience, the beer selection was simple and a bit disappointing after sampling at BBNO. The food was mediocre standard pub grub- we had a sharing board of fried bits and sausage rolls. …Next time I will try to grab a fireplace spot or a table overlooking the river and sunshine.
C. W.
Cosy interior and good spot to drink outside in the summer. Food is standard youngs pub menu. However it tends to be full of tourists so not always great for a community atmosphere.
A. L.
Good Sunday roast, even on a late evening. The staff seemed a bit unbothered however not rude. The bread selection from the starters came cold and a bit stale. Oher than that, good experience.
T. K.
Tasty food. Had a great evening. The service was amazing. I believe his name was Damola. He has service with a smile, and was genuinely really friendly, kind and helpful.
D. T.
Amazing historical pub along the Thames in Greenwhich. Little to say, stunning. Also very nice cocktails!
L. M.
The staff are super nice. Left my hat last week and asked them to hold it for the weekend when I could pick it up. When I went Saturday to grab it they were very busy but were so nice and retrieving it for me. Many pub servers would have been put out to go get it. They were so friendly and nice about it.
Drinks and food are good. Great benches on the river!
G. B.
Great Young's pub. A very nice and cosy interior with a good selection of beers and food. Fun and accessible pub quiz, albeit with an annoying neighbor.
N. S.
Attentive friendly service. Excellent food, and a good range of beers and wines. Nice views over the river, and a few small intimate rooms for medium-sized groups.
m. k.
Very nice place if you want to eat the food is good if you just want to have a drink outside seating is available. Tis nice watching river traffic go by
J. S.
Nice traditional pub. Young’s pub so good selection of beers and wines. The table was by the service station so noisy with tube coffees and cutlery which was disappointing. Also when we check in our table wasn’t ready but the front desk didn’t know nor help so was awkward for the family sat down rushing to finish. Roast was a ok meat was fatty. Burger was good.
M. M.
Traditional British Pub tucked along the river in Greenwich.
This welcoming pub is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the Greenwich tourist scene to never be rammed to the gills with people.
The interior is wood clad and welcoming. The winter offers a real wood burning fire and in the summer there are tables outside that overlook the river.
Food is freshly cooked and the bar has a very nice range of drinks.
An absolute must of you are in the area.
W. W.
Lovely historic building right by the Thames. I was here in the winter, it was great sitting by the fire, but I would love to come back in the summer and sit outside by the water.
The atmosphere was perfect and the bar snacks were great. In addition, I had the best mulled cider ever! Would love to get the recipe....
S. A.
A lovely pub/restaurant. A beautiful setting and cosy inside.
Service was excellent and food delicious.
Looking forward to visiting again soon.
Good baby changing facilities.
D. E. (.
Lovely pub on the Thames with amazing views of canary wharf and Greenwich.
Good food and lots of different beers. Staff were helpful and pleasant.
T. S.
Amazing riverside view. Very refreshing to have a r lacing time over a drink
J. B.
Lovely place by the Thames. Food delicious. Always try to eat here when in London. The menu has changed a bit but still delicious and the service is as good as ever.
A.
Was going to nip in for a few light bites and drinks, but couldn't resist the roast turkey meal. Really tasty! `the pub itself is very cosey and welcoming.
K. N.
Gorgeous riverside pub owned by Young's Pub group. Its kept most of the handsome Georgian interiors from 300 years gone ago and has a great selection of beers (as every British pub should have). Has an outdoor space for eating and drinking al fresco and menu showcases the best of seasonal British dishes. Also has a fireplace and interior is full of cosy and intimate corners. Brilliant place to spend an evening particularly in the summer.
D. A.
A real piece of history, beautifully restored. Well worth a visit!
A. N.
Best Sunday roasts, nice staff, good atmosphere and beautiful and cosy pub. Beats the over rated Trafalgar Tavern spot.
s. m.
Beautiful pub, so cosy and great atmosphere. I was very disappointed for the lack of vegetarian dishes on the menu though :( The only option was a vegan burger and chips which I was not in the mood for - quite appalling in this day and age!
G. F.
Lovely pub in Greenwich right by the Thames. Came here for Sunday Lunch and it didnt dissapoint; good portion, tasty, well cooked and reasonably priced for Greenwich. Plently of beers and wines to choose from. Staff were friendly and its a proper pub as they allow dogs!
Would have been five star but our dessert was a little dissapointing, it was meant to be apple and pear crumble but there only seemed to be pear in it? The custard served was a little lumpy and not enough. But it was still perfectly edible.
T. T.
We came for the Sunday roast. We went with the beef. It was delicious though there was a bit too much fat on some of the pieces. Service was good. The building itself is beautiful and there are great views of the Thames. Prices are a bit pricey but as would be expected in a tourist area.
K. T.
Laura and her team were fantastic! They were very attentive and set up the crows nest room for my wedding reception so beautifully! It was local also which was ideal! My guests had so much fun and the food was great!! Will keep this in mind next time we hold a private party! Thank you so much everyone!! You really threw us an amazing reception with the most minimal of instructions you somehow made it looks very beautiful cozy and intimate! Minh and I are forever grateful to you all! I mean the pics says it loud and clear! Despite them being absolutely mentally busy..they still took care of us and made sure my guests were fed.
D. T.
A great Riverside pub heading east from the main attractions of the region. Set over three floors and with an emphasis on dining. It doesn't look as though there is a straight line or a right angle in the building. Staff are helpful and friendly. Certainly worth adding for your visit to Greenwich.
T. A.
Fantastic pub good food, great views of the the Thames good decor and friendly owner. Always go here when I'm in London.
T. L.
Not too touristy. Food ok for what it tries to be. Bar staff attentive. Top end of the usual.
S. T.
Make the most of summer while it lasts. The view of the River Thames is beautiful and so relaxing being around there.
The pub itself gives a really great vibe... It is very cosy during winter times too if you sit indoors.
It was the first time where I tried the food as I normally go there for drinks and ended up having food envy. Really nice food, I went for a Sunday roast. Crispy pork belly, and good Yorkshire pudding and veg that went with it. I would go back and try other things on the menu.
Of course the glass of Pimm's and lemonade went well with the Summer feeling.
K. B.
Good service and very tasty coffee. Looks like a lovely pub although we sat outside as there are plenty of tables by the river
d. a.
By far the best chocolate I've ever had. Very chocolatey, not very milky and as sweet as it should be. This is going to be my fav place to drink a hot chocolate from now on. Very impressed. And the view is extremely nice as well.
L. R.
Lovely food and beautiful character inside.
L. F.
Good beer, friendly staff, decked in history. Warm and inviting. Will go again
S. B.
Forgot how much I like this place.
Food was great.👍👍👍👍👍
Gets very busy quickly. Best to book.😀
T. K.
The best pub in London!
Cosy in the winter, benches by the river in the summer! Beautiful views of Canary Wharf and the o2 Arena.
They have a great burger and delicious pastries like sausage rolls and scotch eggs baked in house daily
S. G.
Cosy and atmospheric pub, great food and friendly service. Also very dog friendly!
S. B.
Love this hidden gem of a pub! I am happy that its just a little further to walk from Greenwich as its already a very busy at all times so getting a place to sit can be difficult however they have a outdoor seating aria right next the the Themes river ( and in winter they have heating ) as so you can enjoy the views... I have not had food here but when it does come out to someone else it looks good!
L. M.
We were up in London for the week-end from Wiltshire. Our daughter took us for a meal at the Cutty Sark on Friday evening. The food was gorgeous and the pub was really cosy and welcoming. The staff were all lovely and we can't wait to go again.Thank you
F. C.
Nice local pub with good atmosphere right by the Thames and off the beaten tracks in the Greenwich district. Tables (and wall) to sit by the river. Did not try the food but good choice of great beers. A great place. 😎
S. D.
Amazing location BUT the table service outside was shocking. Went there twice this week within four days, once on weekend and once on weekday, it was the same both times. Staff aren't looking out at all for people who need refills or to take orders, and they frequently get the orders wrong - I had a rose wine when I ordered white. Food is very good though, and arrived quickly both times. Just the bar staff/waiters need much, much better training!
D. B.
Lovely pub and nice staff. Only stayed for drinks but the food menu looks nice too. Sat outside and got some lovely pictures.
R. 9.
We had a lovely Bank holiday lunch here. The pie and the sausage and mash were great along with the river views. The dessert selection was very tempting! Great spot for a late afternoon pint on a Friday as well. Very good service and they're super dog friendly....our Lab enjoyed being made a fuss of lol.
R. I.
Great view. Good place for a beer
C. P.
We’ve come back again and it didn’t disappoint. My crab fishcake with a hens egg on top was delicious! The service here is always excellent.
I will definitely come again.
M. R.
One of the better pubs in the area, they have a great selection of draft beers and ciders, and from what I've seen in the menu a good selection of spirits and cocktails. Didn't order any food but I did see some food that was brought to other customers and it looked fantastic!
Would highly recommend!
J. L.
Really great spot along the river front. We sat outside and had a patio heater nearby for when it got cooler. Good food (part of the Young’s chain) and good drinks.
For me, having been to most of the nearby pubs along the riverside, the trafalgar takes top spot for having the better food along with great live entertainment. However, for a more romantic evening with the wife to just have a Bloody Mary and a beer, this one gets full marks!
Crumble was decent too.
H. S.
Lovely historic and characteristic English pub. Good honest food with friendly service right by the river. Couldn't fault the food, I highly recommend the vegetable crumble!
A. D.
Awesome pub, genuinely historic and picturesque. Great views of the Thames and Canary Wharf. A stone's throw from greenwich, well worth the 10 minute walk along from the more crowded in the centre.
J.
Love this place! Delicious food, great selection of ales and beers! Took my future wife to this pub on our first date.
G. W.
Nice pub with good beer and wine selection. Great food, but pricy and impossible to park your car. So walk or take a bus. Great in summer to sit outside by the river. Nice views from the bay window and crows nest (2nd floor)
D. S.
This is one of the best pubs in Greenwich and with views like this you can understand why!
The food is really good here and they have a great selection of alcohol too. The pub is old, really old, so the charm of the old style pub with its traditional fireplace is hard to beat.
T. P.
Great old pub. Good food, beer and staff. Didn't feel to touristy.
L.
One of my favourite pubs in London - if you can get a spot outside by the cobbled road you are right on the river overlooking London. Gets busy so definitely worth booking. Food is also decent but quite pricey.
C. H.
Cosy little pub slightly out of the tourist trap area. Reasonable food and drink.
a. w.
Lovely and ancient riverside pub and eatery. Currently being re-finished and re opens 4th February 2022
M. P.
Always great food and service 👍🏻 LOVE the burgers! Decent selection of beers & ales too.
C. M.
LOVE this pub! Food is always good and staff provide great customer service.
G.
Nice views and service. One of my favourite spots in Greenwich, for food and drink.
D. R.
Has a pina colada here although delicious
It was very expensive and after they had filled the glass more than 3 quarters of ice there was not much left to drink
S.
Excellent dinner, good beers (Meantime - not far away though). One of the best restaurants in Greenwich.
J. D.
Great place by the river for chilling and lunch. Amazing views around canary wharf and greenwich. Staff are always pleasant and leave you time to choose, chat and enjoy.
D. M.
Abundant indoor and outdoor seating - right next to the river. Good selection of gins and food.
A. H.
We had a suprise family lunch for my wife's 60th birthday yesterday. We have always enjoyed going to the Cutty Sark and we were not let down. Good food and service as usual. We will be coming back again!
R. O.
Lovely location on the river and nice that you can now order a drink to have outside standing or sitting in the vicinity even if they’re fully booked, however I do have to question the prices. £3.10 for a can of Coke seems unnecessary, it was very warm and I was thirsty so I ordered a soda water with a dash of lime cordial for £1.40 which I assumed would be in a pint glass as it’s essentially just water but what I received was a small glass, less than a third of a pint. Didn’t exactly quench my thirst on a hot day.
I. M.
Had a lovely time! Really nice staff, particularly Ben, our waiter, with whom we had a lovely chat. The drinks were great and there was overall a lovely atmosphere. Will be back!
M. S.
If you want a burger go to McDonald’s. Other food is okay. 3 points for a good view over the Thames
S. P.
Great pub, outdoor seating. Good options of food and drinks. Unlike other pubs, they let us sit in a table that was booked for a later time, but they let us know that we would have to leave once people arrive, which we agreed with. Good management.
B. S.
Brilliant historical pub with charming wonky windows and quirky inside. Sat outside by the river and had waiter service. Very civilised
M. N.
Great view and vibe, there's seating just outside overlooking the river which is perfect to relax by. But a bit pricey £5.70 for a cider.
G. C.
Very pleasant Young's pub with great views of the river. Quite spacious inside with outside tables also available. Good selection of drinks and a varied lunchtime menu. Food service a bit slow otherwise I would've given 5 stars. Worth a visit if you're walking along that part of the river.
L. B.
Lovely food! Cozy set up and nice members of staff. Definitely recommend.
J. H.
Lovely riverside pub with outdoor seating. Need to book but the burgers and fish n chips are definitely worth it. Good service, professional and friendly.
D. M.
Great pub and good options of fish. One or two options for vegetarians. A very good option when visiting Greenwich
C. B.
Traditional pub with limited menu. Food was tasty and portions generous. Family friendly.
D. R.
Great gin drinks and nice food a little expensive for what you get ordered a Nacho's platter not worth £20 and 2hrs for a party of 10 could at least be 3hrs especially we are outside! We moved to space at the side were we could still order drinks which was ok and could still order via the app which was convenient, but they lost out on food orders as we had no table so we had dinner else where. Would go back once the time restrictions are over.
S. P.
Glad we found this gem on our walk in Greenwich! Gorgeous.
Had the 28 Day Aged Angus Sirloin and the Kale with Chili and Garlic. Yum.
D. M.
Lovely beer nice food and a good view by the themes
M. S.
Pub located in fantastic location with great views overlooking river Thames. Truly best Sunday Road I have ever had! Will be coming back there very soon.
a. h.
amazing food! and really nice cosy pub. loved it
Z. B.
Great food and lovely views over the Thames and Canary Wharf. Pub is lovely and cosy inside.
R. K.
Great riverside location with views of a huge curve of the Thames , looking across to Canary Wharf etc.
Good straightforward food, a sort of upmarket pub food menu. I especially like the fish pie, delicious and well-presented. Decent wine list. Very friendly and competent service.
H. S.
Stunning view of the city and Canary wharf. Lots of nice pubs and restaurants. The food and drink in the Greenwich market is all good.
S. D.
Beautifully run pub! Excellent food and engaging staff. Thanks for a top night.
C. H.
Quaint little pub, nice atmosphere, food is a little on the pricy side but other than that a great place to visit
S.
Visited the Cutty Sark PUB. I had a beef roast dinner that was DELICIOUS! I would definitely recommend it
A.
After visiting today, I think one of best pubs in London I have visited. Perfect location, nestled in the heart of Greenwich. With excellent views from the outside seating. The staff are very hospitable and show this positive energy towards you. Chantelle is a lovely lady, she has a beautiful smile and she is very friendly and helpful.
Cute little pub that has some charm!!
R. A.
Thursday 3rd June. Lovely lunch in the sunshine. Used the "Youngs" app but also had really excellent service from Jos B - our lovely Venezuelan waitress. She provided five star service at a great pub on the River Thames. Worth booking and can highly recommend. Well done Jos - you were great.
s. g.
Great local beers. What a view. Helpful bar staff.
O. B.
It's a very good and delicios menu, cozy, romantically and beautiful design, very lovely! 🔥🔥🔥
V. W.
I really love the overlooking view of River Thames! Makes everything more lovely, the atmosphere of the place was very cosy. The food was also great and the staff was very helpful. My experience was overall amazing! Will definitely come back here often.
S. T.
This pub is perfect for a sunny weather, we sat outside, drinks were delivered with help of the app, very quick service. We had burgers as well really good quality. Staff was following distancing rules when they delivered food. We will be back!
M. D.
Great spot on the river Thames. Little stroll from Greenwich so that filters out many of the tourists who will probably end up at the trafalgar. The beer and food here are both excellent and the staff seem really cool too. I've been going here for years. Always worth a visit when I'm down that way.
d. g.
Wow, What a ship.. Well Worth a visit. Plenty of places to eat & drink.. Lovely views across the Thames.
S. G.
Nice location to stand outside and have some drinks.
Do a decent if unremarkable roast dinner. What is remarkable is that sitting in the dining area on the top floor will give you sea sickness. Fortunately I love feeling sick while I eat.
L. C.
Excellent service and food. Nice location. Genuine historic pub with good view
A. S.
Great location a little away from Greenwich tourist... Menu for vegetarians rarely changes but nice pub
C. B.
Nice pub with a good selection of meal options. Very nice view when you can sit outside. Would recommend.
S. B.
The pub is incredible, fantastic for roast dinners, great staff, gorgeous views. week day food was still nice, but still classic "pub food"
P. B.
Great pub with a nice view and friendly staff
j. d.
Very good and friendly service, location was relaxing..if driving to this place unfortunately there is no parking due to heavy council restrictions. This didn't reflect our visit
T. T.
A lovely pub with amazing views of the River Thames. They operated a good social distancing ordering system and the staff were ever so helpful. We all had a great time without feeling suppressed by the whole thing.
J. T.
Probably the best outdoor seating area of any pub in Greenwich in the summer
j. s.
Great food, nice beer!!

Hi I was booking a table outside on Sunday 23/08 me and my 3 friends it was sunny nice atmosphere, we look on the menu nice dishes to choose, we go for Sunday roast 2 chicken roast and 2 beef roast, one scotch egg and beer Peroni. Food it was amazing , nice taste and juicy, Pub very nice clean and good decoration, plenty of beer choice nice atmosphere.
Our waiter it was Tom very friendly funny and he recommended us some of the food and drinks.
I will definitely recommend to my friend and turn in back. Good Job Guys Well Done
R. D.
Great pub feels like you're on a boat. Cozy feel and amazing staff. Disappointed in the veggie burger, felt like a frozen fake meat patty as opposed to fresh veg ingredients, and a thin fake cheese slice on top with minimal salad. Not worth the £15!
S. “.
Amazing fish and chips in lovely setting.Great bar staff too.
D.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. Great way to take in the view of the Thames
A. L.
Cracking boozer by the river. Cozy inside so you’ll need to book - otherwise there’s plenty of space out by the river with views of the o2 arena and Canary Wharf.
D. B.
A quick drink on our way into Greenwich, dinner on a week night or their incredible Sunday roast, this is the best pub in Greenwich (I think). Full of atmosphere, history and quality. You can't go wrong.
J. B.
Legendary pub in the heart of Greenwich- everything inside looks so elegant and quirky, with the busy ambience. Service was the top-class, food looked good and was tasty. It has quirky style and a fabulous location. The views are just breathtaking! For the staff nothing is too much trouble and they give the best service ever Why do you eat anywhere else? This place is the best in London!
C. H.
Had dinner here on Wednesday for the first time! We were so lucky to be seated in the stunning bay window! Our waitress, Brogan (was so surprised to hear another Irish name!!), was great! Her recommendation of the whole place was incredible - you can really tell they care about their food. Beautifully presented and tasted delicious with their mash!
I’ll definitely be back, can imagine sitting outside in the summer with a glass of wine is just perfect!
H. T.
Great venue by the river, nice and cozy feel inside
J. B.
LAURA, CRISTINA AND VESTI ARE THE BEST ❤️ LOVE THE VIEWS AND THE GOOD BEERS
a. “. w.
Nice place, friendly staff, dog friendly too! Food apparently ok, although I did have anything on this visit, great place for tourists to visit, Prince Charles also pulled a pint there. Nice outside area on water front across the narrow cobbled street. Quaint olde world English pub.
C. M.
Great Sunday roast, price and service.
A. W.
Normally a great pub for a summer evening. Had a bit of hiccup last night when ordering through the 'On Tap' app. Had to wait 30 minutes for our drinks, flagged this issue with 3 x members of staff. It was not until we spoke to the 3rd member of staff that the issue was sorted. Apparently the ticket had not been generated by the app so the order had not reached the bar. Appreciate that these are busy times but would have appreciated the issue being sorted out sooner. We come into the pub regularly so this experience did not put us off. Just something to be aware of !

Situated right on the river front. The food was good and so was the beer.

This is one of the hidden gems of Greenwich honestly. I've been going here for a few months now and I've always left merrily. An old style pub with a delicious and reasonably priced restaurant on the second and third floors, a wood-burning stove next to the tables on the ground floor and panoramic views both out the window and by the riverside with their outdoor fire-lamps to keep you warm.
A fine assortment of beers, ales, local brews and national favourites as well as a great wine menu- what more could you want?
Would definitely recommend.
R. M.
Excellent restaurant! Tasty food, very good client service, nice interior with greate view.
J. B.
Best location in town! Nice friendly staff and food definitely improved since prepandemic times.
a. H.
Plenty of food on the plates. Well presented and delicious.
M. M.
Lovely hidden gem.
Great food good service. A little (only a little) off the beaten track, but worth the walk to build up the appetite. Good portions, but you pay for the quality.
Charming Décor and rustic sea/maritime feel.
Well worth going that little bit of a walk
J. S.
had a coke here about 4weeks ago orderd on the app while I chilled and watched the world go by
M. W.
Great traditional pub in a lovely old setting. We’ve been back several times for dinner, and an extra thank you for being so careful/accommodating for my food allergy, which not everywhere gets so right. Nice kind staff too. Check out the bookable private rooms for events which we’ve also enjoyed.
I.
Excellent pub with very nice roast dinners
M. K.
Beautiful pub at bank of river Thames with a great history.
E. S.
Lovely place along the river, one of Greenwich's best pubs.
The food is very good (traditional pub food - but with quality).
The staff is always nice and lovely. There is a great atmosphere there.
I would recommend to book on the weekends as it is quite busy.
W. T.
Beautiful pub, wonderful views and amazing staff.
I have such a great time at this pub everyone I visit, it never disappoints. My most recent visit was with a few friends and with the current Covid situation we where able to feel 100% comfortable with the help of the staff, especially Lucy, she really helped us to have a good time so thank you!!
L. V.
Great atmosphere. Nice view outside on river Thames. Beer a little pricy.
P. G.
Staff went above and beyond to make our stag do an event to remember. Also food was really tasty! Thank you for everything 😁
L. B.
Lovely dinner. Great river views. Staff lovely and food great.
J. G.
The best pub in Greenwich. It’s a bit of a walk from the main tourist area, particularly with the current roadworks forcing you into a longer route, but definitely worth it. Beautiful interior, good selection of beers and the scotch eggs are fantastic.
A. O.
One of my favourites. Lovely cosy atmosphere, good range of beers and excellent homemade scotch eggs and sausage rolls. A bit on the expensive side but no more so than you'd expect for a nice pub in a touristy area
L. D.
What's not to love. Good attentive staff, who know how to have a laugh; social distancing and one way use or in door area of the pub. App to order your drinks and food, delivered to your table. These guys know how to handle social distancing well. Cheers guys!
G. F.
Had a meal here for my Stag do so my memories are hazy but all positive! We were in the upstairs room that had excellent views up and down the Thames. The food was excellent, the port was really nice and they had a good choice of beers.
C. W.
Old English style feel to the pub but the food is really good. We all had seafood and it was lovely. Vast drinks selection, especially the wine menu. Nice outside seating area on the river also. Is not near the cutty sark centre so is not full of tourists or kids. Really good pub
T. N.
Good location and lunch pleasant. Outdoor table area spoiled by cigarette butts and general rubbish from previous day.
A. A.
Lovely old pub by the side of the Thames great food
M. C.
Great beer (Meantime brewery) and superb location to take in the London skyline and the Thames.
A. J.
I love this pub, proper British. Great all year round. (Much better in the Winter when it's quiet) They didn't seem to cope so well with busyness, I had to tell the staff the ladies loos were low on paper and several glasses and pots smashed close by. Nevertheless all the other times I've been it's been great! The food is traditional, good looking bar staff too 😁😋
A. A.
Nice place but quite hidden. Very friendly staff making it a lovely experience and there isn't too large of a queue in peak hours. Outside are overlooks the thames river and the O2 arena. They have local beers as well as the norms like peroni. The food always smells delicious but I am yet to order some. Always presented well
M. B.
We came with a group of friends for pints and food. This place is so nice! Super cozy. There are a few things worth mentioning, the architecture of the building, the view and the amazing service from such a lovely stuff. We had a very good time!
P. F.
Excellent fish and chips, friendly service and they gave my large dog water and some treats. V good and recommended.
h.
Lovely pub with good beer, great food, and a lovely atmosphere. Sunday lunch is always good, especially on the first floor with views over the Thames. Worth the walk along the river if you’re visiting maritime Greenwich.
S. F.
This pub is now officially the worst kept secret in Greenwich. The pub is lovely, very old.world with a good selection of wines, beers and food. The Pub also has a number of benches outside that stunning views across the Thames and in the summer this is where everyone sits to drink and eat in the sum. So in the summer you can normally get a seat outside either on the benches or the wall but in the winter when you want to sit inside you will be lucky to get a seat on a Friday or Saturday with so many people trying to get in. The best way is to book a table in the upstairs restaurant. Overall lovely pub it service at the bar can be slow and getting a seat in the winter can be a bit of.a challenge.
G. S.
A Simply Gorgeous Historic Bar....this is on the river front of historic Greenwich off the beaten track with a very loyal following.
Has a great quiz night. This is usually a good sign, where those that love the place have a context for a gathering.
A lot of fun with incredible sunset views.
Currently, this bar is awkward to get to due to a Thames Path diversion.
Don't be diverted from frequenting. Simply...a joy.

I enjoyed a very lovely Sunday lunch at the Cutty Sark pub’s restaurant with my family members on July 28th 2019.
Most of us had the traditional Sunday roast and the servings were served piping hot, very generous and delicious. We also had ice creams desserts, soft drinks and some wine too. There were a couple of issues with some of the kids’ drinks not arriving in a timely way, but the staff that served our large table were extremely diligent, attentive and made sure we were all happy. The whole restaurant was full of customers but the staff made their undoubtedly very busy work look effortless. The atmosphere was relaxed and had a very good vibe.
I used the ladies restroom before leaving and it was immaculate.
My very special thanks go to Chris and Mona Lisa. My first impressions of them both were very good and by the time we had finished our meal, that initial impression was cemented. Professional, extremely attentive, personable and very relatable. Nothing was too much trouble and you made our family day even more special. I look forward to visiting you again soon and I would highly recommend the Cutty Sark pub to anyone. If you intend eating here on the weekend, I’d strongly suggest ringing them well in advance to book your table. Thank you. 10/10

We came to this pub on Sunday after an event we attended in Greenwich, it was extremely busy inside there wasn't any space for sitting or standing on the ground floor. As we walked in we were greeted by a Manager and she was kind to see if she can get a table for us in dinning room upstairs. We were so lucky to get a beautiful table over looking the river and Financial district. Food was so good, hot, tasty and well presented. We had a very nice bottle of Rose , waitress said it was wine of the week, sadly I forgot the name of the wine or the grape- must be French. The server was very friendly and chatty which is rear now in dinning places, it was nice that she suggested to us to try different things on the menu and give a wine a go as well, she took us out of our usual comfort zone and let us experimenter with the food and drinks selection, and we LOVED it. We will definitely be back to sit on on those amazing tables outside on hot sunny day. Thanks for a great day out Guys.
I. P.
Brilliant pub. Really good food, an excellent selection of real ales including two guest, and helpful staff, set in a wonderful 200 year old building. You can also sit on the bank of the Thames with some great views.
T. M.
Quiet on a Monday evening. Got a lovely table for myself and three family members, plus the beloved pet pooch. They've got water bowls for the four legged friends, pint glasses and a good selection of ales for the two legged ones. Great, trusty British pub menu, won't leave disappointed (triple fried chips are obviously the best thing on the menu .. sorry burger.
S. R.
Lovely Pub on the river. Excellent food, and brilliant choice of beers. Staff were very friendly. We had the best seats in the house, 1st floor in the bay window (amazing views of Canary Wharf and the Central London skyline.
K. F.
Really lovely pub, but food was London prices.
T. H.
Beautiful old pub on the banks of Thames. Very friendly staff, with big selections of ale, beer and wine. We had meat board good size and very tasty pork pie. Recomend this place to a proper publicans.
Q. L.
Lived in London for more than 3 years, and this is my favourite pub by far, great location, great beers, food is great... I would 100% come back when i go back to London - recommend to take tour there if you can neighborhood is lovely too
F. M.
Great pub, still one of the finest in Greenwich. Set by the river shore, with outdoor seating facing the river, sunbathed and chilled by the river breeze it's the perfect venue at anytime of the day. Just had an amazing steak for lunch, with an ample variety of beers to chose from. It does get busy on the weekends, so make sure you get a reservation or get there early!
L. P.
This is truly one of the best pubs in London, it has character and is very dear to the locals. A wonderful outside space on the river for Summertime and cosy inside for the Winter. There’s always a great buzz and the food is scrumptious! You can watch the sun setting over Canary Wharf and the river from the top level. Book to avoid disappointment!
K. B.
This pub is in a superb location. With a lovely seating area right next to the river. It's a little less busier than some of the pubs in the heart of Greenwich but can still get busy. The pub serves food. The food and drink is a little pricey.
A. R.
Great place for a drink overlooking the river and away from the more touristy parts of Greenwich. Friendly staff, good beer selection and lovely atmosphere all year round. (Though sitting outside in the summer is the best!) Only reason not 5 stars is that the food (good quality pub grub) is overpriced IMHO
M. C.
Lovely old pub right beside the river. We sat outside as it was a fresh spring day. But inside there is seating over several floors. Great piece of history amongst a sea of horrible yuppy new build flats :(
J. S.
One of my favourite Greenwich pubs. Full of character and great views. It's always busy, but sitting outside by the water on a sunny day is always a treat. Great food and selection of drinks. Make sure you book ahead if you would like restaurant food.
B. P.
Had good food there yesterday, from the 1st floor of this very special pub, full of character, right by the Thames. I only wish there had been a few more pieces of fish in my pie but the fish was delicious, the fish and chips with homemade chunky tartare sauce was exceptional, so said my friend, and the lemon tart, sorbet, and sticky toffee pudding top quality. There are tables outside, even closer to the River, views of modern London, the O2, the frequent passing of the Thames Clipper, and over to the left you glimpse the Cutty Sark, the classic buildings of Trinity College and the dome of the pedestrian tunnel under the Thames! The top floor of this pub or Crow's Nest is worth a visit, I suspect booking is advisable if you wish to eat in that special part of the pub.
A. A. A.
The loveliest place I had the chance to visit one my trip to London......
E. R. C.
Love this pub! Although it can be a bit pricey, it gets 5 stars for the food and a great location; by the river, amazing views, and away from all the tourists in Greenwich. It's always busy during the weekends so consider making a reservation for your sunday roast.
D. P.
If you're a fan of very traditional looking pubs this is a beauty inside. Took a look through the building and upstairs and the dining area up there has great riverside views. You can also sit outside if you wish (my girlfriend did, on a windy day...) and whilst it isn't the prettiest stretch of Thames this is nice too, although nothing on the interior!
T. H.
Great food and a lovely view. I may of accidently thrown my drink across the room but the waitress was really nice and made me feel comfortable.
All in all great food great service
K. M.
Great view of the sunset over the river. Great food and service. A little expensive for drinks but well worth the visit.
H. H.
Lovey pub, good food, good service, warm atmosphere.
We went here on a Saturday afternoon, we didn’t book (booking recommended) but we managed to land a table in the bay window upstairs.
It was a superb spot looking out over the river, whilst still feeling we were in the pub. There is a large staircase running up through the centre of the building which gives the feeling of space as you can see right across the pub to the other side.
I had the fish and chips which were lovely, slightly over fried batter but overall the taste was good, my 2 companions both had the burger and were delighted with the overall balance and flavour. I got chunky chips and they had the skinny ones. We were all very happy.
If the waitress had of known where Brixham market is (the source of a lot of the fish on the menu and, quote “world famous”) this would be a 5* review.
B.
One of my favourite pubs in Greenwich. We were lucky enough to get a seat, it's usually very busy. Great views, cosy, well worth the half hour walk from my home
J. B.
Good beer, lovely location on a sunny afternoon for sitting outside and enjoying life. Indoors the building has great character, the staff were really friendly and the food very good. It can be very busy, so book your table in advance.
S. D.
Visited again! This pub never disappoints, im beginning to become a bit of a regular! The food is always fantastic and everyone I visit whoever serves me is always a gem! For this visit I had a lovely little lady named Holly as my waitress, she was very attentive to my needs and very smiley!
Another great visit and I will definitely visit some more! Thankyou cutty Sark
A. M.
Just stellar, a bit pricey but you can't beat the river view, historic location and amazing staff. 5/5 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
J. G.
One of the best places for a sunset... Food is great and staff friendly. Will return
T. M.
Food was outstanding. I had the crab and cod fishcake and it was amazing. The samphire was delicious, herby and buttery. The egg could've been runnier, but didn't impact the dish too badly. The bacon worked really well and the chips were crispy and perfectly cooked.
I wish I'd've taken a photo to share, but sadly I was too distracted by how tasty it was!
Service was a little slow at the bar, but it was very busy and the food itself came quickly, so no huge problem. I'm rarely in the area so I don't know if I'll ever return, but if I do I'll be sure to visit again!
S. S.
Fantastic place for a drink with great ambience and REALLY good food! Sure they have proper pub grub and comfort foods. But they also offer some berry nice dishes like the Sea Bass and Lamb that exceed expectations! We had a wonderful time and came back with a group iof work associates! Lovely
S. F.
Good grub and decent beer in a beautiful pub with great views and super staff. Jos kept our group completely happy with her friendly and professional service all night long. Thanks!
D. S.
Nice eatery, friendly staff, decent pub fayre in a a historic venue retaining its authentic feel. A good choice of beers in a Young's venue, socially distanced, sanitised, staff in masks so tricky to hear if u have any hearing loss, but we managed! Location great at sunset looking across river at lights of Canary Wharf on Isle of Dogs. don't be confused, it's not by the Cutty Sark ship but along the river about a twelve minutes pleasant walk. Pub by the ship is called the Gypsy moth, named after sir Francis Chichester's boat which was once berthed here. Enjoy your 🍺 or meal and travel back in time 😊
I. C.
Very nice pub/restaurant, the food is delicious and well served. Large variety of beer's for the fan's and very friendly staff. Also the decor is beautiful like old-fashioned way. 🐕
Many places to sit outside for the summer day's to enjoy the river view.
Pet friendly 🐶
A. C.
Great food, great service with wonderful views of the Thames. Really enjoyed our evening.
A. F.
Good wine, tasty food.
Staff is polite and service quick and professional.
Outdoor seated area with heaters (70% of the tables only)
Give it a try
K. S.
Nice bar at the water side. We didn't have the food here however, there were varieties of beer on tap and drinks.. this place has indoor, outdoor upstairs sitting arrangements.
Nice place to spend time in the evening during sunset.
R. F.
Fantastic lunch, drinks and views. Service from Jos was impeccable and a great representative of The Cutty Sark. Thank you Jos.
c. b.
One of the best pints of Guinness I’ve ever had. Amazing atmosphere, great chips. Nautical heritage. Perfect location. 20yrs since I last went, lost none of its charm. Magic.
J. S.
Fantastic food, fresh fish is fab. Wished we lived closer, would eat there all the time! Really helpful staff, wonderful setting. Tables outside next to Thames, really worth a visit.
S. C.
Nice old pub with river view but food not so good, veggies were half cooked and mint sauce inedible. We told staff, but no gesture made. House draft beer not good, plain as water.
E. B.
Place is really nice with pleasant music.
Sadly food haven't scored a goal this time.
Me and my friend had a starters and that was absolutely delicious and fresh.
Shandy = lager and lemonade was made very well and suited both our likeable taste and strength.
What have really disappointed have been the roast menu in which i chosen a chicken with lemon and thyme roast along with potatoes and cabbage salad.
My friend had an Beef roast similar side dishes.
Starting with my plate chicken was very dry, cabbages been boiled several times before and server as "Fresh" there was no lemon taste or even lemon on the side.
Beef was mainly with fat that's not really appetizing to see, not mentioning how that was bad to taste.
At the end i would love to compliment two absolutely amazing waitresses
LIZA & LORA ❤ AMAZING AND VERY LOVELY
That's why restaurant gets 3 stars rating instead of 2.
Yours
Einoras Baumanas

Just has a very nice dinner! The pub is beautiful and the service amazing! 100% recommended if you want a delicious meal and good service, our lovely waitress was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back
M.
Cosy vibe, excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. Also the building is a marvel frok the outside and in! We will be back for food soon!
C. G. J.
Cozy pub with an intriguing layout, friendly staff, nice food and a good drinks menu.
This place always seems like three pubs rolled into one for me, I step into a cozy pub with dog blankets near the door and then go upstairs to a comfortable loft lounge area and over in the next room is a dining area reminiscent of a viking banqueting area.
I took part in an enjoyable pub quiz here and the lovable staff made the experience all the better.
D. G.
Just excellent. My burger was among the best ever tasted. The bun had a kind of glaze which gave it an interesting texture. The location beside the Thames is hard to beat. I could sit beside the window and watch the river all day long. Staff helpful... just the tops
H. R.
Good pub. Good food. Good beer.
T. H.
The pub is beautiful and has an amazing view. The food was gorgeous, I had chicken with tarragon sauce and was one of the best things I ever had.
A. K.
My favourite local pub with excellent food and great atmosphere. Stunning river view with Canary Wharf as backdrop. Sit next to the fireplace with a cup of mulled wine. This place can be quite busy, you might need to book a table rather than just showing up.
C. B.
Beer selection is OK. Food is served until 10pm, any time beyond that you will have to order from the stage rolls or scotch eggs which are ready made and behind the counter... Location is great, right next to the Thames!
D. L.
Love the history of this place. Greenwich is such an inspiring place. After a visit to the Cutty Sark you definitely need to walk through the markets and reach the maritime museum, another wonderful place. Then walk through the park and try to fit in a visit to the Royal observatory too. For food and a drink you'll find a lot of amazing pubs all around the area
S. W.
Food is always amazing here, and isn't overly expensive for the quality and quantity.
Atmosphere is always buzzing, but its difficult to get a table inside for just drinks.
Outside seating has good views along the Thames.
A top place.
M. G.
Lovely spot and view. Good beer. Bit pricey.
C. P.
I really like the cutty Sark pub. Food is great, with a wide selection of ales on tap. Staff are fantastic, very enthusiastic and attentive. The upstairs is a dining room, whilst I downstairs is the bar which also serves the bar food menu. There's ample outdoor seating for sunny days.
E. M.
Absolutely amazing. Made my sister's birthday by going out to buy candles especially for her birthday desert. Great service, decent prices and fab chips - what more could you want? Thank you so much to the upstairs team, evening of the 1/12/18 <3
C. J.
A really nice pub with a great selection of beers and a nice predominantly seafood menu. However it is a little bit pricey and can get extremely busy very quickly especially during the peak summer months and the last couple of times I have visited most of the non seafood meals on the menu, they have run out of which was awkward as some of my friends aren't fond of seafood! The staff however were very attentive and apologetic and have always had good service bar those hiccups.
A. M.
I am a huge fan of riverside venues, hence I might be slightly biased on this one. I went on a glorious evening with pleasant weather and open skies and the view of the night skyline across was awesome. The food was typical pub food, nothing super exciting, but it was very decent. Also, its location makes it a nice place to avoid the big bulk of the crowds flocking near the other Cutty Sark. Its interior is also very cosy and traditional. Definitely recommended.
F. L.
Beautiful little pub on the quieter end of the Greenwich riverside. Cosy and authentic interior, with ample seating and tables outside along the river for those perfect summer afternoons. Good selections of beer and friendly staff. Absolutely worth the walk along the river from Greenwich town centre.
D. T.
We stumbled upon this place last week, in search of a Sunday lunch after a walk by the river in Greenwich. Luckily they had a spare table for us upstairs in the corner. My pork belly was substantial and pretty tasty. My partner's beef was also very good. We shared a decent apple crumble for desert. We will definitely come back some time.
a. “. w.
Nice place, friendly staff, dog friendly too! Food apparently ok, although I did have anything on this visit, great place for tourists to visit, Prince Charles also pulled a pint there. Nice outside area on water front across the narrow cobbled street. Quaint olde world English pub.
Q. L.
Lived in London for more than 3 years, and this is my favourite pub by far, great location, great beers, food is great... I would 100% come back when i go back to London - recommend to take tour there if you can neighborhood is lovely too

Great food and table service in these crazy times. Felt very safe.

Great pub with excellent and friendly staff. Food is amazing. Highly recommend
A. K.
Tom was amazing, we were sat outside he was so attentive and made sure we were all okay 10/10 service!
C. N.
Good food but great service! Staff very polite and helpful, especially Lisa, who served our table for a majority of time with a super friendly attitude. Would deffo recommend.
G. P.
Excellent food. Four of us had different dishes and they all were very tasty. Glass of wine or beer were not priced on the menu! Would cost around 25/- per person. Very cosy place.
R. M.
Many selection of drinks and great food, good quality service. They have tables outside but not a proper terrace, it's great place but if you go with your dog you can't eat upstairs and downstairs there are few tables so you should go early.
I. H.
Beautiful old skool pub. With Thames view outside picnic benches. Lovely 1755 interia with nooks and crannies to sit in inside. Great range of ales and beer to choose from. Facilities and staff excellent. Its short walk down the Thames path from the centre and a significant proportion of tourists. Well worth the lovely stroll from the old Navel College.
A. L.
Can't beat the location. Great views across the river from outside and also if you get a good table upstairs. Atmosphere is always great inside and staff are very friendly. Good selection of drinks and the food is consistently good - the triple cooked chips are a must
T. J.
Get the table by the window and experience some of the best views of the Thames! The food here is fine - well executed gastropub fare - but the views from the first floor are to die for. Oh, and the beer is good too, best sampled on a summer's day from the riverside tables ...
T. J.
Went on a cold and miserable mid-week jaunt to this establishment, and found the atmosphere pleasant. The food was fabulous and the service was great (a special big-up to the servers, Alina from Latvia and Vestina from Lithuania) both were friendly and professional in the service they provided
We had seating by the window, so had a great night view of East London by night, as we looked across the Thames
Would highly recommend this Pub.
P. S.
Great service, lovely food, fantastic location. Great place to stop for lunch while walking around Greenwich.
T. W.
Good food, better atmosphere. Excellent view.
A. T.
Great location and the pub is a building full of character. Good range of drinks, yet the pricing was a bit steep. We had one beer, a medium glass of wine, a bowl of soup and some chips ....... £20. What the Dickens? Oh, it's a gastro pub.
G. R.
Great fish and chips. Wide range of beers. Great views from the second floor. Out door seating next to river is nice if tide and weather allow.
D. E.
Greenwich is always lovely to visit and tourists will love it.
J. B.
What a wonderful find, as soon as you open the doors you get in to this beautifully cosy old style pub. Staff was just outstanding, they could not do enough for us, they went out of their way to accommodate me and my big family, moving furniture around and running to the shop for me. Superb menu, and if you are fish lover OMG it will be a heaven for you. Great value for what you get on the menu. Mezza Prosecco is my favorite now, superb wine list from all around the world. Give this place a go, it is a must visit in Greenwich.
A. D.
Awesome location for looking over to the Isle of Dogs and City of London from across the Thames. Out door seating and good food too. Must be really old looks and feel it too with a kinda yuppy air about it. Well worth a visit for a drink or few.
p. s.
Walk up to this pub and you soon realise that yep I can spend some time here and make a few very good memories from my visit. Me, the Mrs and 4 mates had a table booked upstairs for dinner, but we arrived early and had some drinks downstairs in the bar. The bar is well kept along with the beer thankfully 😉 We were told although we were early we could go up early and just have drinks and order when we wanted too.
Sat down at our booked tabled and we were warmly greeted by the waitress and we helped her sense of humour come to the fore and then she told us about the days specials and what there is on the menu while laughing.
As the place was busy, there was a small wait for our food to arrive and when it did it was soon realised that what was placed Infront of us was very tasty and good value for money. Munched our way through the chicken n tarragon pies, burgers and roast pork. We ordered up desserts and the 2 christmas puds were barely warm, but soon had them refired and it was sorted quickly. All in all this place is well worth it in all aspects, the place, the beers, the food and the staff, so I'd definitely recommend to anyone who wants to relax out with good views over the Thames. But there is one last thing, on the way out I decided I needed one of the scotch eggs for sale behind the bar, at £4.50 they had to be something special and by God they are, order a pint and one of these little goody gems and you'll go back for another, highly recommend for it 😉 Go drink eat and be merry 😁
B. L.
This is a glorious old pub with stunning views across the Thames. It's tucked away a bit so it's a pleasant riverside stroll away from the tourist hoards in Greenwich. The food was great, the service was truly excellent and the signature Christmas ale "Cutty" was delightful. Highly recommended.
R. H.
Excellent food, great selections of drinks! Outside sitting area is great, staff was friendly and very helpfully, will visit again.
A. H.
Haven't been for years. Visited on the hoof with friends. Good food, staff very helpful after being served cold hot chocolate. If you want a window table, reserve it.
t. b.
A brilliant stop on our route. Friendly
R.
Nice river-side pub, split over three floors. Best on a sunny day when you can sit outside on the wall, drinking beer and overlooking the river. Well worth the ten minute walk out of central Greenwich to escape the tourists.
S. W.
Good food and spectacular river views.
A. H.
Visited this pub after I had run the London Marathon, food was good, and the atmosphere was fine, the only real problem was that despite we had booked in advance, the table was not ready for the time we had booked, meaning a further 15 minute wait to be seated! I would say that when the food arrived it was good!
C. N.
Good food but great service! Staff very polite and helpful, especially Lisa, who served our table for a majority of time with a super friendly attitude. Would deffo recommend.
T. J.
My wife persuaded me to go there for a quick drink during a walk around Greenwich. Really nice inside and warm feeling, would go back again. Only criticism is the outside seating area looks a bit tacky and bland.
Food coming out of the kitchen looked great, service was friendly.
D. D.
This beautiful Georgian pub is located by the river and offers amazing food, great atmosphere, and the friendliest service ever. On sunny days sitting outside right on the river is a perfect way to spend your afternoon.

The best of the Greenwich river pubs, and somewhat protected from tourists by the lesser Trafalgar Tavern.
The food here is very good for pub dining and there's always an interesting selection of beers on tap.
The Young's Brewery seems to give the place sufficient latitude to maintain a level of individuality and independence that is the key to success here. Long may it continue!
The upbeat staff know what they're doing, there's a good spread of outside seating for summer months and it's cosy inside during the winter.
A jewel on the murky river.

We booked a surprise birthday party at the Cutty Sark, which took place on 30 June 2018. All the managers that we dealt with: Alex and Sebastian and Chris were all very helpful and sent e-mails confirming our booking and provided wine lists and canapé suggestions. We also had some very helpful wine tastings before the event. Our party took place in half of the restaurant on the first floor and screens were provided to give us privacy. We were permitted to decorate the space with balloons and to bring our own very large cake. The evening was a great sucesss and all the people at the Cutty Sark were very helpful, cheerful and attentive at all times. A special thanks to to Brogan and Diamante who looked after us during the event. It is a great pub in a great location.
K. S.
Decent food, good drinks. I liked the atmosphere and the pub quiz we took part in. Spent over £60 for food for two, drinks and the quiz. Not a cheap night out but we had fun.
P.
A very popular riverside pub that had a cosy interior for the winter and a lovely river view seating area outside for summer days. Prices have risen dramatically since it became a Young's pub but that hasn't kept people away and it can be difficult to find a seat at busy times.
T. A.
Great pub hidden away from the tourists that swarm Greenwich. Especially in the summer sitting outside this pub on the River is a glorious thing indeed. It's only real downside is how popular it is which means that if you want to sit outside sometimes you struggle to find a table.
H. M.
Views are exceptional, great beer and location.
M. Á. G.
I'm sad to say that this amazing place, with comfy cosy sofas, nice music and incomparable outdoor seating, has gone down a bit in the last month's. Food is sometimes slow and gets a bit lost, and some members of the staff are less friendly than the old crew. A bit more effort and five stars will come back!
S. A. (. B.
Clean and tidy, well presented, friendly staff,
Not knowledgeable though of local area, far cry from when I worked there nearly 30 years ago lol (what fond memories). Lovely quiet outside seating/dining area overlooking the Thames with good views. I’ve alway had soft spot for this pub and glad to see it’s survived redevelopment! Kept its character & charm.
Not to mention it’s staring roll in a blockbuster movies. Lol
Well worth a visit if your in the area!
N. W.
A really nice old waterside pub which is away from the busy tourist area of central Greenwich. Good selection of beers on offer including the local Meantime beers and decent a food menu. There's also an outdoor area on the Thames for the summer months.
N. S.
Great pub with great food. Be sure to reserve a table.
C. M.
I really love this place. They have live music as well. When the weather is good you can sit in front of the river and have a good view. The service is fantastic they are very friendly. The have the best fish and chips i've had in London. The live music is great on friday night. Also good selection of background music.
D. L.
Great venue with a fantastic menu
J. Ø.
Looking for a real classic pub in Greenwich, this is the one! Greast atmosphere. Can get very busy on a summer weekend but worth the visit, ample outside seating with adhoc overflow onto the nearby anchor. Not tired any main meals as not excited for the vegetarian option, however the tipple cooked chips and sticky toffee pudding are a must for a small snack or sugar blast! Cocktails are on point and pimms is highly recommended, coming in under the infamous London £5 mark.
A. F.
Great place for get tougher with friends or family, mesmerising views of London. Food Is great, staff is very friendly, nice selections of wines and cocktails. I highly recommend this place, and it is reasonably priced for the area.
G. D. (.
What a secret gem! Want a pub in the heart of Greenwich with a fantastic view? Look no further. Superb riverside tablea thay give you panaromic views. Diverse range of beers and spirits. Food was tasty and good value. Waitress made a mistake regarding order and whilst manu establishments would claim no ownership they offered us a round of free drinks. Fantastic service from start to finish.
S. P.
Atmospheric old pub on the south bank of the Thames. Cosy and welcoming, with a great pint of Youngs. We didn't dine - but the food coming out from the kitchen looked excellent.
N. K.
Great atmosphere. Got there too late to go upstairs but nonetheless had a great time.
Ordered a nonalcoholic drink and was offered many options and tried something new. Pleasantly surprised.
S. K.
Came in late on a sunday, around 9:30, the pub had a lovely cozy atmosphere and was still busy. Around six or seven of the staff that had finished their shifts were sat drinking, which is always a good sign when the staff spend their wages somewhere!
The guys behind the bar couldn't have been lovelier! Brogan and Sevy (sorry if thats not how you spell it) were such lovely people, so helpful with the wine list. Brogan helped me pick a gin as their selection is huge, so nice to see that bar tenders are knowledgeable about their stock!
We will definitely be back, those veggie sausage rolls are too good to not have again!
M. B.
A Thames side pub run by Youngs brewery dating back to 1750. Had a great meal from a varied menu. A good selection of cask ales were on offer of which I sampled 3! Good views of the Thames from the upstairs restaurant and the outside bank terrace across the street.
L. W.
Amazing Sunday lunch ! The size of the roast is crazy big, honestly we was amazed. We would love to give a big thank you to Vestina. She made my birthday so special! Definitely coming back.
H. R.
Lovely old pub with nice views of the river and a good atmosphere. Food was excellent but on the higher end of London gastropub prices.
M. F.
Absolutely stunning venue and really friendly staff. Very dog friendly. The thing that lost it a star was the disappointment in the food. My partner is a chef and im an assistant manager of a pub myself. My partners fondant was dry and overcooked with no chocolate sauce as had been cooked out. My pigeon was overcooked, rubbery and grey. My partner didnt complain about his fondant but i did send my pigeon back and the next one was a fraction better as the last quarter was pink but still much of it was over. I would go back for drinks but i dont think i would eat there again.
O. H.
It was understandably busy but there was very little room between tables and the food was okay but nothing great. The roast chicken was a bit dry and the veggie Wellington wasn't that good.
S. R. B.
A group of four of us had some cocktails here. They were really nice and refreshing. The decor of the pub is pretty cool, so overall it was a very good experience.
D. W.
I've been a Cutty Sark Tavern punter since 2000. When it was freehold it was brilliant although my brother and I lamented about the poor lighting. We were nervous when Youngs took over but have to say their changes were positive and subtle. The ales are a bit of a lottery here but today got a lovely Broadside on draft. Sometimes I do enjoy a Young's Special. It's always friendly here and I often bump into people I know. This place is off the scale in the summer months with a wonderful riverside spot overlooking the O2 and Canary Wharf. I regularly pinch myself because I can't believe this is my local!
G. H.
Lovely pub slightly out of the main Greenwich drag but only a ten minute walk away from the actual cutty sark and so a bit quieter. We sat outside next to the river and enjoyed our drinks. They do a selection of pub snacks and make cocktails as well as the normal pub beers and wines.
A. R.
Lovely pub with great views. Gets busy during weekends. I'm marking it down to three stars because not having a drinks menu or display is not acceptable to me.
D. Z.
Delicious Sunday roast, in a good atmosphere
J. R.
Great historical pub with seating next to the river. Problem is, this pub is just too popular so getting a, seat or table a bit of a challenge. Good beers and whilst I've not eaten here I've been told that the food is good.
S. C.
Stunning setting, pleasant decor and friendly, fairly efficient staff (2 wrong desserts) but food has gone downhill and prices have gone up since Young's took it over. Now very average and overpriced pubgrub with an expensive wine list.
D. R.
Great pub in central Greenwich. Plenty of seating and the food looked great. Nice vibe and always a wonderful selection beers. Dog friendly, good access.
S. P. N.
Brilliant place to spend atleast half a day.
R. H.
My daughter is a coeliac, and cannot take gluten or dairy. We called ahead, and the staff went into the kitchen to check with the chefs that all the ingredients in the dishes were safe. When we arrived, everything was double checked. We had a choice of mains, and they were very attentive. Great food, highly recommended.
D. A.
Went on the eat out to help out. Food not great unfortunately. We came for Christmas lunch and food was great so maybe a change of chef.
Staff friendly and service good.
I. L.
Lovely Sunday roast, huge portions. The 2nd floor has lovely views of the Thames. We spent an excellent Sunday afternoon there feeling warm & cosy
L. H.
Great platter lunch, and Pimm's on tap!
J. B.
One of our favourite London riverside pubs. Slightly removed from Greenwich so slightly quieter. Good sun trap. Good beer selection and very good food.
c. c.
Situated on the bank of the Thames Cutty Sark has great views of East London however it was too expensive for my pocket. Best buy you drinks from a offlience and sit near by and enjoy the views.
P. G.
Quality food with great taste served by a top waitress in an enchanting atmosphere. What's not to like about that? Well done Cutty Sark, you're well worth the 5* rating.
C. D.
Good food, location and the service - up to just before we left - was friendly. However having been there just over an hour this Sunday - and having had drinks and a main course - we were abruptly turfed off our table by a waitress who told us others were waiting. We are not familiar with Greenwich and had been looking up a route home after paying the bill. After that we had to look up the route in the street . What should have been a positive experience ended up a big disappointment for my family and I.
L. R.
Great nice place, specially on a sunny. Outside table next to the Thames. Very typical inside as well. Food plates are huge, service was a bit long. But really recommend the place
s. s.
Lovely food great venue
S. A.
I love the pub, the food was great and the service was great. I just can't give it a five because on the day I went it was so busy I ended up waiting over an hour for my food. Not the fault of the staff or the restraunt. All I'm saying is if you want a roast go early!
H. E.
Top notch pub in the *ideal* riverside location. Can't beat it on a sunny day.
A. H.
The Cutty Sark is a lovely looking pub with gorgeous dark wood panelling inside and riverside tables outside. Went there for dinner - I had the burger which was heavy on the sauce and mayo and a bit gristly, with under-cooked fries, however, my wife enjoyed her bangers and mash. The food and beer was slightly pricey. The service and atmosphere were lovely though.
G. L.
Everyone knows this place is great. Log fires, cosy interior, nice outdoor space when the sun shines. Yakima red on tap and they have returned baked camenbert to the menu. Hurrah! Pub quiz is good on Wednesday but make sure you get early as it's not the same upstairs.
R. H.
Absolutely love the recently relaunched Cutty Sark. Have been there several times over the past few weeks for both drinks and on Sunday for a Sunday Roast. Each time has been great and I have to say that the Sunday Roast (which I've now had twice) is the best in the area. This place has become my new favorite local spot.
T. P.
Great location right on the river, with seating right along the shore and plenty of standing room space nearby as well for busy weekends and evenings. Very good food and a really nice restaurant inside; decent beer list as well.
A. P.
A great pub for sitting in when you're looking for a cozy atmosphere. Great burger at an OK price, beer prices relatively high, but decent service and space.
M. B.
Nice pub in Greenwich right next to the waterfront, the outside area gets extremely packed and sometimes you have to queue for a fair bit to get served at the bar especially in hot weather, the food is also very good
O. M.
A lovely setting, overlooking the Thames, with old world charm. Great lunchtime menu and a nice selection of wines. Not bad value for Greenwich either.
N. B.
Perfect place for a drink outside by the Thames on a summers eve. Lots of space outside to sit at a table or perch by the river. Inside is cosy and there are 3 floors to cater for diners.
S. C.
Perhaps my favourite pub in London. The interesting history, the fantastic interior, the amazing views of the river from upper floors and of course, Meantime on tap. Pretty much perfect.
P. H.
Large bank holiday crowd and small bar made this a long wait for drink and food service. But food and drink good quality. Outside seating, views over river to Canary Wharf.
M. S.
Great burgers, beautiful place, lovely service
S. K.
Nice pub great service even better food.
Wonderful river views a truly magical place to spend sometime.
C. B.
Had a lovely table in the window with a view over the river, the waitress was friendly and service was quick. The food was delicious and I would definitely come back again.
O. T.
:) 5*sunday roast. Especially when you compare it with ‘The Narrow’.
H. N.
Great little pub right on the river and just a little walk away from Cutty Sark DLR. We arrived at 8.00pm just in time to get a table before the weekly pub quiz took place. A good selection of beers from London breweries (such as Meantime and Camden town brewery) as well as a few different ciders. We didn't eat there but the food looked mouthwateringly good! We'll be back to sample the gastro pub grub next time!
M. P.
Period pub with atmosphere.
E. L.
Fantastic pub, great location, great food and a fab selection of beers. Nothing more to say. My favourite pub
M. J. B.
A locals pub. Cosy and hidden away from most of the tourists. Right on the river. Especially charming at Christmas.
D. D.
This place is amazing, the food and service is always spot on. It's also a dog friendly restaurant, it's so nice to take our little dog out with us for a good meal.
Most meals are £11+ but it's worth it.
M. G.
Quick service, Bangers & Mash was very nice but needed a side of greens, I'll try and remember that for next time.
J. P.
Catch of the day was Hake when we went and was very good. A Youngs pub with good range of beers. Great atmosphere and definite sense of history as you enter the pub.
H. J. S.
Squirrelled away along the Thames path, the Cutty Sark is a perfect place to stop for a drink whilst on a walk or a bike ride, and makes an excellent choice for dinner with a view.
We sat outside with our wine and waited for our friends to arrive then moved inside for dinner. The restaurant was the right sort of busy for a Friday night, bustling but not jam packed and service was quick. The mussels made an excellent starter but I might not have ordered them had I known the Posh Chicken Kiev would be so huge. Mains are around £10-12, and £20 for the 21 day aged rib steak.
G. W.
A fantastic spot to show off London. Strongly recommend scoping out a spot by the window in this lovely building. The service here was great and the fish pie was an excellent choice.
G. J.
Always busy and great beer selection. limited seating inside if you just want a quick drink. Nice garden in the summer
A. H.
TLDR: No time to explain - you just must go there.
Good beer? - Check
Good food? - Check
Pleasant interior? - Check
Hospitable and quick service? - Check
Noice doggos allowed? - Check

Excellent, the young lady Brogan was wonderful, she has great customer care! We asked to move outside and this was handled very quickly and efficiently, she even took the time to check back on us!
Thank you to the whole team!
M. s.
Lovely pub with unique decor...felt like I was in Harry Potter film! Polite stuff...outside seating is a must as you'll see the great views of Greenwich.
M. C.
Good selection of beer, nice staff and quick service. Always well filled but you can often get a seat. Food is good quality and quick. Outside seating is good in the summer and spring.
D. E.
Quirky old pub with riverside seating by the thames. Didn't eat here but drinks were good and atmosphere was great inside and out. A lot of history in this area of Greenwich.
L. O.
Really lovely pub. Cosy fire in the winter and river side outdoor seating in the summer. Great food upstairs but make sure to book ahead if you want to get in for Sunday lunch
A. K.
Great pub, feels like a seaside restaurant when it's not far from central London. Staff are very friendly. The beer is great!
I. P.
Great old pub.
Good selection of beers.
A. W.
I love this pub, just off the beaten track enough it avoids the bulk of tourist traffic. Great views, great food and staff that actually know what they're doing!
B. M.
Attentive staff. The ordering app acted up a bit but staff went to old school paper order without hesitation. All meals were delicious.
A. R.
I came here on a staff lunch in August. Windows overlooking the river at high tide were just beautiful. Food and drink was great. Amazing pub.
E. O.
Great experience! The team has managed very well to make a nice flow with the one-way system, it was our first time and it didn't feel like we were missing on anything!!
J. S.
Lovely meal took my mother who had never been before great service and food hit warm inside but understandable as it's a hot day.
K. P.
Excellent service. Beautiful view of the river. Good food and drink. Worth a visit, best to book first.
H. W.
Amazing views! Great staff looked after us when we had some visitors from Germany. Will be back. My favourite pub in Greenwich.
S. #.
A warm welcome to weary 😩 travellers. Final stop over on a mammoth Old Fashioned East End Pub Crawl, by a former grandfather who brought his son, grandson and brother back for a days trip around his old watering holes. Started off in The Gun 🔫
D.
Lovely atmosphere and good drink selection. Great views! Food service could be better but food is usually good.
C.
Food, service and ambience goodaz always. Four of us arrived at 15:30 without booking, so no peak time. Given the table by the window without many questions or making it difficult. Good experience once more.
R. E.
Cutty Sark is such a nice pub
The staff are friendly and the drink selection is great but what really sets this place apart is the high quality food menu, the cosy look and feel and most especially the view of the river
It's not a party place, but it's a great place to stop off for a couple of beers or to have dinner at
S. Z.
The Cutty Sark is one of my favourite pubs in London and definitely my favourite pub in Greenwhich. It's right by the water, so in the summer you can sit by the water and sip on your wine, cider, or beer and enjoy the sun(set). It's not far away from Cutty Sark station, but far enough to not see too many tourists there. So check it out!
j. t.
Interesting old pub on the river front. Outside space to enjoy the views. One star less as the price of the drinks was quite pricey.
I. B.
Lovely pub great views over london and not really busy. Plus very nearby is midpoint Turkish restaurant which is a big bonus
J. S.
We stopped here this afternoon for a pint and a quick bite. Great service and staff. Glad we found this place. Wonderful location on the river.
T. S.
Love this place especially outside in the sun by the river. Great food too.
L. C.
Very interesting and beautifully presented. Such a treat to be able to see the underside of the ship! Really enjoyable. Could not get over how tiny all the seamen would have to be to fit in those bunks!
L. W.
We didn't sit in the pub as it was packed full but we did sit out on the wall overlooking the river which was nice. Drinks are quite pricey but to be expected for a pub on the Thames i guess
F. F.
Nice place and view. Amazing food.
S. J.
I wanna go back. Great atmosphere and excellent food for reasonable price and both the interesting building and the location on the Thames makes it pretty special!
C. H.
Relaxed Georgian pub in a lovely old riverfront location. We had a simple, light and tasty sharing platter amd enjoyed the view.
T. G.
Amazing riverside pub from 1500s. Cozy interior, great beer, food often great, sometimes a miss. Worth the walk from the Greenwich market.
F. H.
The new owners did a great job. This place has never been so good. I just love the food here and they also serve some pretty cheap drinks. Service is always nice, the staff are very friendly and open people, definitely worth visiting.
M. P.
Great pub, lovely atmosphere, amazing river views. Really good food too, if you can get a table with a river view upstairs
T. B. K.
Really good pub, nice inside and outside seating. Food was really good and service was excellent. Recommend if you're in Greenwich
W. R.
Love this place since they refurbished. Right on the river with great beers and views of the Thames. It's worth the trek from the centre of Greenwich..
L. A.
Can’t believe how fast the drinks service is outside, The app is brilliant and the staff are friendly and always happy to help, best pub in London
M. S.
Great food, with a brilliant selection of drinks. A really beautiful historic setting and stunning riverside views. Book the crows nest!
M. P.
Looks really nice inside and it's a good place to go for drinks. However, we've been twice for a Sunday roast and the food has not been hot enough.
M. W.
I absolutely love this place, plenty of outdoor tables and space in summer, amazing view, great friendly service, clean and tidy. Always have a great time here.
N. H.
Nice location; good service & food. Had a lovely evening.
A. B.
Great setting at the bend of the Thames, exploited well with riverside outdoor seating (with blankets for when it gets chilly) and breathtaking views from the first and top floor. Sadly though the ale selection is limited and the food is quite average (although expensive). The barstaff can be quite slow and unfriendly.
R. G.
The location and atmosphere of this pub could not be better. Great selection of beers and wines. But I feel the food can be a bit hit or miss. Though when it is good it is GREAT.
M. l.
The Tavern was built in 1795 though an inn has been there since 1600's.
A prime location on the thames with outdoor seating for dry weather.
We had a lovely 4 course meal accompanied with selected wines, which they regularly offer on certain evenings around £50 pp.
We sat in the Crows nest with great views out of the window and fantastic colourful paintings of the parrots that came over on the ships many years ago right outside the tavern.
I also saw for the first time the projection of the Prime Meridian as a faint green line through the sky. I had never heard of this,
The 4 courses started with a
Prawn and Devon Crab served in a blanched tomato on top of a stream of gazpacho.
next we were served Foie gras in pea soup
followed by a spring lamb 2 ways, a square of lamb terrine and then cuts of lamb
and the dessert a rhubarb fool with ginger shortbread
My favourite was the starter and i loved the lamb terrine from the main course. The dessert wine was the best, a potent sweet wine from Victoria.
I will be going back to try their steak meal and i would love to go for a drink on a hot summer night and gaze along the thames.
A real gem but hidden, so glad i have found this place its not near the cutty sark and you would only find it if walking along the bank.
G. L.
Beer is spenny but you pay for the view. Pub quiz is good fun and food is always of a high standard. Not one for the locals.
B.
Atmospheric pub on the river. Cosy inside in the winter, relaxed outside in the summer. Good beer selection and above average pub food in restaurant upstairs.
P. S.
Great food and friendly service and a perfect sunny day for alfresco lunch by the river.
A. C.
Great pub, love sitting outside on the river, one of he best boozers in the area.
