Great underground cocktail bar in such a brilliant location. The cocktails are all lovely and so interesting! The happy hour is a great deal and the staff are super fun. The music is always great - a mix of throwback anthems and new music too. I can’t wait to try out the sister locations!

Loved the ABBA bottomless brunch! The atmosphere was great although I think the singers arrived late for our sitting. One thing that could definitely be improved is the food though! There were only four options and it arrived on a single use plastic tray - a plate would be much more environmentally friendly.

This bar is a hidden gem, it’s so welcoming and super friendly. I went here twice over the the weekend while having a girls break in London, all the staff from the doormen and bar staff couldn’t do enough for us. When we arrived one night it was standing room only which is totally fine, but they soon found us a table when one became available. The cocktails are to die for, the bar staff have a great sense of humour and the atmosphere is brilliant. Olga, you deserve this credit you are so lovely, myself and my friend will be back soon. Highly recommend bar if you are in the area.

The best bar in London! I had the pleasure to come to the Escapologist few times and always had an amazing time. The place is magical, it's vibe is great, drinks are delicious but the staff is what makes it so special. They are fun, witty, welcoming and always make sure to deliver the best experience. I was served on few occasions by Olga and every time she took care of me and my friends up to the highest standard. I will come back and without doubt recommend the Escapologist to everyone because in my opinion it truly is THE place to be on the evening out in London.

Went here for a drink after the theatre with my daughter and some of her friends and we had a wonderful experience. The bartenders were extremely friendly and made us some delicious cocktails and also encouraged us to try new cocktails that I'd never had before! A Quirky and fun venue. Bar staff are friendly and accommodating. Cocktails are tasty and they have skittle flavoured vodka shots which are yum! Espresso martini is goooood - I'm always on the hunt for a proper espresso martini and found one to add to my very short list! Great tunes belting out as well to add to the mix :) we wandered around and found the quieter booth areas too which are lovely little hideaways where you can have a conversation as well as still enjoy the music. Will definitely be booking those for next time! But if its the full volume you want, the main bar area is where it's at! :)

Had a great time at this place, good music and atmosphere. Went during happy hour so had plenty of cocktails. The service was great from all the staff. Me and my friend didn’t like one of the cocktails so one of the girls kindly changed it for us and made us one we liked which we appreciated a lot. I found this gem whilst looking for cool date venues and wow- it did not disappoint. I swear Austeja makes the best cocktails in London too! Super knowledgeable and made incredible drink suggestions. The Neverland is a must!

Large selection of cocktails, with the added bonus of 2 for 1 between 4pm & 7pm. Down side it's not accessible to everyone has it's in the basement so difficult if you're not so good on your leg.

We went there on Friday without a booking, lady at the entrance said that they were fully booked, but if we wanted to wait 10-15minutes she maybe can find a table if somebody leaves. We waited and she found a table for 6 of us available only for 30 minutes saying that she will try to give us more time if possible, by moving some bookings around. I don't know how she did it but we stayed until the end and had a really great night! We just wanted to say a MASSIVE THANK YOU to that lady. Everywhere else when they have seen 6 of us they send us away saying that they have no space. So again thanks for saving our Friday night and we will be back!

I came here on date night with my partner and i was a little reluctant as i'm not much of a cocktail drink... until last night anyways. The cocktails, service and ambience was perfect! We were served by Auste (apologies if i've spelt her name wrong) who was kind enough to go through the different cocktails, explaining what accompanies what, from sweet to sour and just being a fantastic bartender and turning this beer lover into a cocktail fan and i'm already counting down until i can come and have another Summertime fun

Sophie was serving us all night, my boyfriend and I came from Kent for a rare night out. We came here because I used to come here during my uni days in London but Sophie was amazing! Such a fun a lovely girl to chat to and will definitely come back again, honestly Sophie was the highlight of our night, she went out of her way to make us our favourite cocktail despite it not being on the menu. 10/10 venue would highly recommend, even after 3 years since I drank here! I LOVE this place! It smells good, the tables are spaced out evenly enough so you don't feel like you're intruding on your neighbour's conversation and the music is amazing! Drinks are tasty and work out really good value during happy hour, the long island iced tea is probably the best I've ever had and the birthday cocktail is delicious. My new favourite place!

Our first visit to The Escapologist was on a Sunday evening and we enjoyed happy hour on cocktails after the theatre. The atmosphere was chilled and we enjoyed lots of different cocktails based upon recommendations from the highly experienced bar tender (great service). After having enjoyed this visit we returned this Saturday evening and reserved a booth for a group of 6. The atmosphere, service and cocktails were fantastic and we are already planning our next visit! Thanks to all the staff who make this place stand out!

Gracie was great, very quick to respond to emails for any issues or questions! The only thing was the table did not seat all 8 of us as it would have been slightly tight but one of us stood up so it didn't affect us as there was no crowd bumping into you. This place is fantastically whimsical and fascinating. It has a friendly and lively party atmosphere but grab a table and you can almost blend into the weird and wonderful pictures and artwork and enjoy a more intimate evening. Escapologist is one of my favourite place in London, I went there quite often before the lockdown. The decoration and cocktails are super nice!! However, in the last time I went there, I faced an unprofessional service from a female staff. One of my friend fell against the table because she was having a bad time and depressed. The position she did looked like she was sleeping. After that, the staff came to us, told us that sleeping in the bar is not allowed and then, she asked my friend to leave the bar immediately. My friend tried to explain that she was not napping or sleeping, she was just taking a rest. I understand that it was hard to believe, but what the staff did was very unprofessional. This is my suggestion, the staff should warn her at first to not to do that position, if she still does that, it makes sense to ask her to leave the bar. We did not do serious problems like destroying your stuff or jangle, so asking your consumers to leave is not acceptable.

The cocktails are some of the best I've had but it takes ages to get served! And bring back the pizzas! Or at least snacks. The layout of the place is fantastic with a great vibe. Staff are lovely, even the bouncers which is unusual. No WiFi or reception which is a pain when you're trying to arrange a group meet up.

Had a great Friday evening here. Wide selection of cocktails, and I enjoyed the ones I chose. It was a little crowded, and considering we went near Christmas it was to be expected. The space is wide, but does not have much depth (aside from the little downstairs seating nooks). The queue for the bar was neglible considering, but the space is narrow so prepared to be jostled if people are walking to and fro. Bar staff were chatty and served people quickly. Even though we didn't have a table the staff was aware of our group, and were attentive to the space. Decor is moody, dark wood, low light, portraits on the walls, interesting vibe. -1 star for not astounding me with the cocktails, slightly cramped space, and high price pp for group bookings.

Central location, near to theatres etc and the attention to detail in the presentation and flavours of the cocktails was phenomenal, bar staff that deserve a special mention is George, making delicious passion fruit cocktails, a true mixologist with excellent customer service skills and ability to manage lots of orders and demanding customers all at once!! Will definitely return to this bar, happy hour between 4-7 makes it more affordable Excellent joint The only negative is no phone reception so of you are trying to use a voucher code or something it's hard to download on location, some on site wifi would be excellent

The last time I came here was for a friends 30th birthday bash! Absolutely amazing bar - love the story of The Baron! All of The Adventure Bars are fantastic - have been visiting one or the other of them for the past few years. Was due to come to the quirky Escapologist at the end of May - for another 30th birthday. Went recently to celebrate my anniversary, the entire experience was fantastic! The setting is super cool, the staff are very friendly and capable, the bartender could make whatever cocktail we could think of, and after trying a fair few of their signature cocktails we didn't find a single one we didn't love! I had a rum Old Fashioned here in December 2016, it was a very well made cocktail. Music was great, decor was jazzy and the layout of the venue was interesting with tunnels, low ceilings and weaving corridors. Table service was a little slow, but it was peak time. A great spot!

Great cocktail menu and happy hour is great value for money, especially in central London. But the real reason for the 5 star rating is the service. The male host in particular who greeted us at the door and took care of us: turning the air conditioning off when it was freezing cold, giving us drinks on the house when we'd waited a while for our cocktails, the epitome of good service. Fantastic little dimly-lit bar tucked away beneath the streets of Covent Garden, literally a stone’s throw from Matilda. Top level bartenders mix up a range of fantastic cocktails, with 5-7pm been prime time daily... happy hour on all cocktails, Peroni, wine and prosecco! There are not the greatest number of seats/tables, so it’s probably wise to book a table ahead if you’re planning to stay for more than one drink.
