Reviews of The Founder's Arms
N. K. J.
What's cool about the spot -
When you overlook the Thames and have a drink with your friends and family, what else do you need for a good time in London. We totally loved this place. With a good variety of drinks and food, this pub is a good choice. Locality is a plus with a great view of St Paul's if you walk down a few mins. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Recommended.
Will visit again.
If you found my review useful, please do give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more useful tips around the world.

Loved this place. Great view of Thames. Friendly staff. Amazing food and drinks, quantity and quality. Definitely recommend this place and will go again. Recommend their Mac and cheese, and Filthy Fries.
T. (.
Every time a good place to come, before visiting Tate modern museum. Great and simple food. And staff are everytime nicely. And this place have amazing view on millennium bridge! I recommend you ;)
C. T.
Always a great place to visit for a drink or meal. Wonderful location which makes it generally very busy and difficult to find a seat. Patience and a watchful eye for seats about to become vacant pays dividends.
London prices naturally but the view across the Thames makes it worth while what ever time of day it is. The atmosphere us friendly and easy going.
With the train station next door it's also useful for those wanting to travel south (like us) after a day out.
J.
Giving 5 stars to the excellent, above and beyond service by Vladmir, the bartender. Knows his products very well and the correct glassware. He made us feel so welcome and gave a personal touch when serving us. Had to mention this to the manager also as he was truly amazing. Pub also is very nice that sits on the bank of the Thames. 100% recommended! :)
D. K.
Great food and drinks at a great location! Excellent, tasty roasts and good selection of beers and ales. You can walk in, no bookings, order via the app and all these by river Thames. Perfect for a beautiful day in central London.
C. B.
Easy table service via app.
If you're male with a slight disability then you may well find the toilet a struggle up steep stairs. Use Radar key for accessible facilities next to the Ladies.
Peanuts overpriced.
Handy for the beach when the tide is out.
k. w.
Very nice Riverside pub with great food. The desert especially was great. Definitely not an everyday trip though because the (admittedly wide) selection of drinks was generally very expensive.
B. P.
Great pub with fantastic backdrop of the legendary city that is London. Prices are what you'd expect. Service was good, had to take back a pint and was changed no problem. Good choice of spirits and drinks on tap. Our group also had a smooth Malbec. Overall, an enjoyable experience.
A. H.
Nice place to have a drink with friends. They have really good triple cooked chips and Halloumi fries. If you are lucky, you can get a good river view table.
C. M.
Love it here, myself and my partner come down for are anniversary and ending up here for a drink. Amazing staff and a perfect location. We are looking forward to going back again
G. B.
Beautiful spot to soak up the sun with a cocktail and have the sound of the Thames shore- felt like I was abroad when I closed my eyes..
Love London completely, so many quirks. X
J. C.
Excellent scambled tofu for brunch; my server took trouble to replace my rye sourdough bread with GF bread...she deserves special thanks😀
M. A. D.
A decent location but pretty expensive in terms of beers on offer. £5.90 is the cheapest pint (Amstel) Youngs Ale (Bitter and Special at over £6 which is ridiculously overpriced for real ale. Ideally located near the Tate Modern, and nice place for 1 drink and no more
J. G.
Excellent friendly staff and a great range of beers. Only down side is that the ladies toilets are freezing! Lovely views of the Thames.
A. E.
Great pub with great water front views. The staff were lovely but it is a popular venue so I'd book if you really want a seat. Think the outdoor tables were heated too so that's always a winner when the weather's cold, wouldn't want to miss that view
Think there's disabled access aswell, and the drinks are standard price for London.
Would 10/10 recommend.
E. R.
Friendly staff but found the menu options to be very limited for vegetarian. The prices were also on the higher end for the service offered. But I quite liked the indoor and outdoor seating options.
T. F.
Founders Arms is in a great location with superb views of the Thames, plenty of tables by there large windows or even outside. I only gave a 3 star as the decor inside and ambience was very basic and reminded me of school dinner hall, shame as it could be so much better.
T.
annoying experience. no menus - covid - I get it. but the QR code on the table for the menu links to an app that doesnt exist on the google playstore. was told that they know it will take 3 days to fix. why put the QR code on the table then? and 3 days..... ? food when it arrived was nice.
R. T.
Absolutely lovely. Brilliant food, brilliant view and really really Really lovely staff. Our waitress was a gorgeous young American girl who couldn't have been nicer. But all the staff were friendly. They all seemed to get on well also. It's an open ish kitchen and the food was A1 and made to order. Prices were a pleasant surprise for London / south bank. Definitely worth a try.
S. J.
Fantastic pub. Been here multiple times now and never had a problem the serve is exceptional and the staff are really friendly. The whole place is very well kept and all tidy. The toilets are in great condition and they have a huge variety on drinks and food. We'll worth a visit.
C. E.
Very organized and responsive staff.
The menus are very diversified. I really enjoyed the tasty food. Amazing view from the riverside.
A. P.
Excellent ale, good food, lovely waiters, beautiful view and cheerful atmosphere! We truly loved the place!
Update: we've already been three times to this pub and would definitely come again! Absolutely recommended, whether you're a tourist or local. Many thanks to the team!
A. F.
It's on the Thames, it's a touristy boozer and price reflects this. Great place for a bite to eat. Excellent pub if you just wanna sit and watch the world go by on the river.
S. A. V.
We went their as farewell drinks, the pub is situated at scenic location which adds to your experiences leaving with beautiful memories. Didn't try food though.
C. S.
Nice place next to the Thames. With great views of St. Paul's Cathedral. Staff were very helpful too!
D. B.
Great place for some fish and chips. We sat right on the water and the food was great. Got some beers and enjoyed people watching. Not a fan of self serving and paying at the counter before getting the food or drinks, but that's London in a nutshell. The staff were very nice and answered some questions for us. Definitely some history here, so it's a must to try it yourself.
W. M.
The location is perfect, the atmosphere is good but the prices are ridiculous. I understand it's because of the location but there's so many other nice places on Southbank, I won't be visiting again.
T. P.
This is a review of my Sunday roast experience. I have been to many Restaurants and Pubs for Sunday roast and to be honest this is the worst one from all of them. It is overall a nice place with nice staff members and good drinks, but it looks like that Sunday roast here is just an afterthought. Why? Well look at the photo I posted. Our table had Roast Beef £19 and Roast Chicken £18. I won’t brag about dry and tasteless chicken as this has become standard and only few restaurants can prepare nice roast chicken. But the beef is supposed to be Striploin, however what I was given looked like leftovers you would only use to prepare gravy, super overcooked and chewy (seriously head chef of this place should google: Sunday Roast striploin). Then the potatoes were undercooked with no taste at all. I’m not gonna even talk about veg because that has nothing to do with roast - looks like frozen veg quickly boiled without any taste. Gravy - uhm was this even gravy? Same color, different texture and different taste. Only good thing on the plate was Yorkshire puddings. I was first thinking that Restaurant has run out of food and they just cut the slack on my order, but I saw other tables having exactly the same plate as I had. I’m giving it 3 stars, as I said good atmosphere and nice staff members with good drinks. Whilst we had to wait 50 minutes for our food, waitress was very nice, kept updating us and gave us free deserts - this can happen anywhere. But seriously if you are after Sunday Roast and are in the area, don’t bother visiting here, look elsewhere e.g. Swan, that’s just 100m from here and have hundred times better roast for the same price.
P. S.
Nice place. Luckily got a seat on a bustling Saturday. Friendly staff and helpful. Best burger I have eaten in a while. We ordered wrong food but they were generous enough to offer us 50 percent discount despite the fact that fault was ours. Would definitely love to visit again. One suggestion to the place regarding the app for ordering food. Please add search option in the menu as well.
P. B.
A decent place to stop to grab a drink and bite to eat whilst walking along the Southbank or if visiting any of the local attractions. Friendly and helpful staff. Drinks are quite pricey but it's in a prime location so that is expected.
Although the only difference I could see between the burger main meal that I ordered and that which my youngest had from the children's menu was cheese, onions, pickle and lettuce...oh and about £9 for those items.
B. P.
This seemed like a great place to dine with the most beautiful view and well.. we were right!
D. L.
Was there yesterday lunchtime, busy so ended up taking table outside. Biggest problem no heaters on in our vicinity, was told due to non availability. Not great if you are planning to stay for a while and it was bitter cold. Overpriced in my opinion but I guess supply and demand will always win. As long people are prepared to pay the price..
S. F.
Went on a date. Walked from Blackfriars, very easy. Food was alright, service attentive. Comfortable
J. G.
A London classic. Great view, friendly service, however watch the £££ on spirits.
Also, a must on warm summers night.
A. D. P.
A wonderful place with great views over the Thames, very close to Blackfriars Underground Station. A place to relax on your own or to have a great time with friends. I love the decoration and seating arrangements, especially on the terrace. The menu is quite varied and the prices reasonable, taking into account that it is in London and on the Southbank. The atmosphere is very cosy and friendly, and so welcoming, especially on cold evenings with the gaslights outside and the magnificent views of LDN at night. Last but not least, Brunch is just superb, don't miss it!!!! I will definitely go back next time in LDN. Don't you forget to pop in!! Cheers from Buenos Aires! 😍
I. J.
One of the best outdoor dining views in London. Nice food, good prices, and it’s quiet in the mornings when you can even hear the waves lapping gently on the foreshore. Lovely
T. ..
For a lot a bars you had to log into a app and it was the biggest hassle at this one. Asked more personal info then was needed. And when done it didn't work. I'd give it 3 stars but, they served tea in a way you can pour two cups with a bag and this is really a thing I would enjoy seeing elsewhere cause I don't like my tea to strong and it's nice I don't have to waist a bag on 30 second soak and then trow it away while it has enough flavor for another cup.
S. M.
The best pub in London on a hot day! Food was very slowly w because they were do busy and overwhelmed!
V. G.
Nice place, and location, food is way too expensive for what you get, £20 for very small portion fish and chips, come on.
G. H.
We had a lovely meal here. Food and drinks were delicious. Staff were very friendly. Great spot for people watching. Just sit back, relax and watch the world go by.
M. H.
Ever popular, the bar was rammed with people watching the rugby. They have introduced a new order and pay at table app, which was brilliant and the drinks arrived quickly 👌
H. J.
Lovely food. Comfortable seats. Friendly staff. Clean toilets. Very nice experience.
G.
Been there before lockdown and popped in recently for breakfast. Everything is spot on regarding covid etc. Sitting by the thames on a sunny morning having breakfast. Love it
2/12/2020 Popped in again today on the first day after Lockdown 2 and had a huge Breakfast. Can definitely say that was a substantial meal although was a bit early for alcohol.
G. L.
I went here with my friends who visited me from South Korea!
WE WEAR ABSOLUTELY ENJOYING THE PLACE!
such a nice weather, full English breakfast was really good:)
Also they served beer from 10am 😂
Nice view, nice weather, nice food and drinks
c. n.
Lovely pub iron the Thames path London with excellent food wine and good service, great views as well
S. S.
Excellent full English for £11 with lovely rustic bread, large tea in a pot with a decent sized cup. Good service. Nice views of the Thames.
N. T.
We had a Sunday roast which was a big portion and very tasty.
Nice pub with lots of outdoor space and great views of the Thames and the city.
M. D.
Nice place to relax . beautiful view reasonable price
S. C.
Nice fun ambience, great location, and good menu makes it a very popular for after-work drinks. Situated at the bank of river Thames; St. Paul's can be seen right across the river. If you do manage to get a table on crowded day, do ensure you order your food and drinks together at once as standing again in the line may take ages.
A. “. Z.
Good lunch by the river view it’s totally worth it. They have the skipper’s catch, so it’s a new special menu everyday. I had the haddock fish cake and onion rings, it’s from the starters. But very filling. The fish cake tasted less fishy but more like hash browns and the onions rings were so large unexpectedly that it fills you up for a small lunch. The food was good overall but not that excellent. But it’s best place for quick bites and romantic river views.
T. W.
A great venue with great food and beer. Friendly staff and good views of the Thames and London skyline. Wonderful to sup a great pint watching the tide change🍺
T. W.
Great location, nice staff and space. Food used nice ingredients but didn't taste freshly cooked, possibly re-heated. Would return for drinks but not for brunch.
D. G.
Great riverside bar. Ample seating outside overlooking the thames adjacent to Blackfriars Bridge and raiway station. Plenty more room inside. Excellent service from the friendly bar staff and great selection of beers and lagers.... a pint of "proper job" highly recommended. A riverside bar certainly worth a visit.
P. V.
Love the location, loved the venue, and the cleanliness. Wish I could order food/drinks online. Also the one dish I had was sub-par, but not quite bad enough to push my review down to 4*
M. D.
Great customer service, easy to reach from Blackfriars Station. I could park just south of it in side streets for free on Sunday. Great Thameside seating with fabulous view of St.Pauls cathedral.
E. I.
Very nice place with a great view on the Thames. Staff is very friendly, especially Sam and Daz who took great care of me and my friends. Definitely would recommend.
J. K.
We ate a late lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. The weather was really nice outside so the patio was packed. We found a table inside without issue. We placed our order at the bar and food was delivered in about ~20 minutes. The fish and chips were about average, but the view and ambiance was perfect.
S. K.
When walking along the river, found this restaurant. Good food ( I had two set of breakfast not because of hungry is because it looks really delicious) nice coffee, clean, fast and friendly service. Price also reasonable.
The avovado sandwich is a must try.
Toilet is on the 1st floor, love the design.
D. P.
Way overpriced. Food was average. Staff were friendly. Had to return one beer because it was warm. Views were good. Wouldn't go back again.
T. B.
I love this bar. Situated right next to the Thames and The Tate Modern the views are fabulous. Always busy but usually ok to get somewhere to sit! Great outside seating with heaters.
The staff are helpful and friendly. Food is presented well and very tasty!
S. S. S.
Me and my friend stopped at Founder Arms for some Beer during my London visit, Veritys of beer is available. The best part of pub is outside seating area of this Pub is just amazing.
You can enjoy St Paul and the city landscape with a great view!
Recommended for a night out in this amazing Pub.
w. t.
Beautiful location, great atmosphere, nice staff, superb view. Love to get a drink with a view. Have some good beer and food is not bad as well.just in the middle of Tate Morden, Blackfriars, St Paul & Thames. Just love it
m.
What a great location this pub/restaurant is, this has got to be the prime place of any restaurant along the Thames! It's also the perfect place to stop off for a pint whenever I walk past here!
c.
Good location but just your typical overpriced riverside pub on the thames. I'm sure it would be excellent in the summer and location to blackfriars station is handy for a pre commute home drink.
L. H.
Nice place, beautiful view, loads of light!
Had a quick breakfast there before heading to the Shakespeare museum (just a minute away).
The loud music with heavy beats is a bit a shame in this navy atmosphere. But overall great service!
L. A.
Very good place to eat. The food was delicious and you have a lot of choices. Really I will visit it again and again. Prices are acceptable and employees were very friendly and ready to serve you. You can find anything about food, drinks and beers. A place that you have to visit in London. Really a good choice.
j. m.
Lovely location. Have walked past this pub lots of times but never been in until last week. Good range of beers, very clean facilities and friendly staff. Will definitely be back again. And great views of the river!
c. l.
Very good fish and chips.. The staff nice, but very precipitated to grab all the things on the table and met others at our place.. That was a little too touristic...
A. C.
Rushed service, think they were short staffed. Nice by the Thames. Expensive drinks £17 for a glass of wine and a beer.
C. L. i. t. U.
Amazing view for St. Paul and Bridge, night view and day time were both beautiful. A cozy bar provides indoor and outdoor seat.
D. P.
It was okay - the food was nice - we didn't have any mains and the starters were tasty although they had ran out of quite a few things.
G. R.
Great location and great team, there's a good selection of drinks and a great riverside view. Popular with tourists it can be a bit busy but a great spot for river and people watching
R. V.
Beautiful pub on the river, with great city views. Facilities were nice and clean, well looked after despite the very busy evening I have attended this establishment. Drinks were reasonably priced, so it made the whole experience very good value for money. You could easily spend a few hours here, considering they have small heaters outside and blankets to keep warm on those chilly London evenings.
E. V.
The view is fantastic for the food needs more creativity.
R. A.
On the waterfront, it has a great view of St. Paul’s etc. It was busy and service was a bit slow and food was a bit average. Drinks were good though.
V. V.
While walking around London, do yourself a favor and visit one of the perfectly located next to London Bridge Riverside pub. It has all you might need for a perfect pub experience - ales, foods, amazing views on the Thames and City
A. R.
It's a lovely dine out place to enjoy fish and chips along with beer. The fish and chips was very soft and crispy. Loved it.
M. H.
Good food and drinks with an unbeatable location. The atmosphere was lively and upbeat, even in the middle of the day on a weekday. Orders placed at the bar and food is brought to the table. A great place to stop while walking along the river.
M.
It's a scenic location situated right on the River Thames a decent selection of food on offer with a few vegan options, ordered the linguine and wasn't amazing but not the worst.
T. &. Z. H.
Very busy spot by the Thames with great views of the city - used the outside bar , as no outdoor seating available at the pub
C. K.
Perfect view and nice atmosphere!
e. l.
It was OK, a nice atmosphere. We sat out the back to watch the river traffic, and being the it was a beautifully sunny, hot day, we were in the right spot for enjoyment. We had a nice waitress too. We told her that we were in a hurry, and she was sure to rush us through to ensure that we weren't kept waiting interminably.
S. B.
Vlad you are a superstar! Happy , inviting , complimentary, eager and just a breathe of warm. Keep shining matey! You made our entire night in a few short seconds. Superstar quality !!!! Xxxc
C. M.
Great location, good food but slightly pricey for a pub. Really bad acoustic - too loud
Hard to talk if in.... but awesome if seating outdoors
E. F.
Good spot by the river for a drink with friends but beware on a hot evening as it gets busy. Great views whilst sipping your tipple!
R. M.
One of my favourite pubs, great beer and fantastic location. Shame quite a few meals on the menu were unavailable.
T. F.
One of the best views if you sit outside
H. M.
Lovely Thames side pub near Tate Modern. Only popped in for 1 drink but will go back next time in London.
A. G.
Good crowds and nice views! Lots of beer options but limited mixed drinks avail.
B. E.
My friend and I happened upon this lovely pub one evening and we enjoyed a wonderful meal, great drinks, and excellent service as well.
P. M.
Great atmosphere, great food and had good service all round.
We had a seat that also had a great view of the thames and the surrounding views.
Picture is a few steps from the restaurant.
S. T.
Had a great time, booked a table, had the pleasure of two great members of staff (Lucy and Kieran), sun, drinks, Bankside and Founder's Arms, what more I have asked for.
L. J.
Great location, nice vibe, a bit of echo and background music doesn’t blend in too well. But view, service, location and selection of drinks is spot on.
B. J.
Great pub on the River Thames...so magnificent view of the City of London. Food looks great.
J. L.
Get away from the water if you want a proper boozer.
Staff average, location average, drink average.
Go and see London, don't stop here.
M. P.
We ended up here as a bit of a mistake due to timing for an exhibition visit to The Tate Modern next door. Good choice of drinks and the ladies ate here. Usual choice of pub grub, pies , etc.. which were received very well by the ladies. Nothing for me as I am on a diet the "light bites" were chips sausage roll etc.. so I was less than impressed as you can tell from my score. Not even a limp leafed English salad. Food looked OK when it arrived but the pie top looked burnt and the burger looked over done as well. Glad I went hungry.
K. L.
A lot of different beers and an amazing view
S. M.
Love this pub, right 9n the thames opposite St pauls. Always visit if in the area, good food and wide range of beers
s. z.
Good drinks selection but pricey. Decent food. The views are exceptional. On the river with a lovely view towards the city. Great spot on a sunny day.
s. c.
The best place to out late on a week night. Calm peaceful and very warm welcoming staff ...much needed as the cold winter nights approach
N. O.
Beautiful view, amazing food, a great and good decorated environment. Perfect place to relax after a long day of work and meeting friends.
N. S.
We had our table reserved, so there was no waiting time. The place was not very crowded and appropriately arrange to maintain social distancing. This steak was good
F. V.
Stoped here for a quick lunch and was very satisfied. Situated right by the Thames it's a nice place to relax and eat.
T. F.
Awesome food and friendly service and the most stunning views over to St Paul's
J. W.
An institution. Perhaps the best location of any pub in London, with everything of interest literally in front of you.
The staff do a great job of providing prompt and attentive service, inspite of the regularly heavy crowds they have.
On a summer's evening, it's hard to find a better place to have a drink.
W. L.
Unexpectedly good. For such good location it was a genuine pub and not at all a tourist trap. Really happy to go back there
G. L.
Had Sunday roast with a few friends and it was absolutely delicious. Can feed 3-4. Fish and chips are also very very good.
M. P.
Amazing location by the Themes. Full English breakfast was fine. Quite large also with seats indoor and outdoor. I recommend to order at the bar.
K. S.
I was here for lunch yesterday. Had the lamb burger with Courgette fries and a pint of Estrella. The staff were very friendly, food was served very quickly and was delicious. I was sitting outside in the sunshine overlooking the river. What more do you want?
T. H.
Not the warmest of atmospheres however nice and modern place!
Edit: atmosphere like an old and aged pub, if you're looking for something modern this is the place, of you're looking for an old worn pub look a little further! :)
B. H.
This would probably be a 4 or 5 star review if I had sampled the beers. They have an amazing beer selection on tap and the view is quite nice. We went for the fish and chips and let's face it...We could have found better for cheaper. The chips were ok but the ratio between them and the fish was off. The fish itself was decent but very greasy. Again having a drink or 3 would have helped bump the review up.
m. c.
Good range of beers but expensive because it's London. Great atmosphere and views across the Thames.
D. F.
Spacious pub with a great view. Always has a great atmosphere.
M. K.
This is a great spot for a simple bite, a beer, tea, or coffee...while watching activity right on the Thames in front of you, and City views beyond. Great people watching. I visited on a quiet weekday afternoon...but this place can get full.
P. H.
1st time I visited and will be back with friends. Excellent service great food and location is with a view of THE best city!!
S. D. -. N. P.
One of the best views in London, Saint Pauls Cathedral whilst having a gourmet Burger and chips
S. R.
Very pretty surroundings. Good menu and helpful staff.
I. B.
It's ok. I wouldn't choose to go there again. The fish and chips was edible but not a patch on that served by the Rose and Crown in Wimbledon which is another Young's pub. Also it's hideously expensive - over 6 quid for a lager? I'm sure there are better places close by but covid means booking in advance and if you don't do so weeks in advance you're kind of left with the worst of the bunch
P. C.
Delicious food, a bit pricey though but nice. Friendly staff. I had fish and chips for about £17
S. P.
Lovely views of the Thames and across the river past St Paul's and into the City. Can get very busy with the after work crowd and with tourists at the weekend, but was quiet when I visited at about 4.30 on a Tuesday. Very very expensive beer though - but that's the price to pay for the lovely views!
J. B.
Nice location by the Tate Modern overlooking the Thames. A clean and tidy pub too. As a modern building this isn't a cosy British pub but Youngs always do a good job of making modern spaces welcoming.
J. M. M. S.
Great view of Saint Paul's. One of my choices in London for a drink when someone comes for a visit from abroad.
p. p.
Great atmosphere! One star down only food is a little pricy. I ordered Hallumi fried which was £6 and I was served a tiny bowl with a few pieces of the fries. Too expensive
B. B.
Great food and beer on tap. Beautiful views inside and out. Perfect stop before going into the Tate Modern, next door.
D. S.
Great pub for a drink if the sun is out. Can't comment about inside, I always want a table outside beside the river and watch the world go by.
A. D.
Decent pub, but plagued with thieves. This is no fault of the pub itself, but just to be aware of when you go there. The pub has an excellent location and would be very nice in Summer.
s. p.
Great chips and dip!
C. W.
Good spot always busy. Food was good. Order inside and help yourself to a table. Lots of people after work there. Good service.
A. S.
Good quality, but busy as usual. Friendly staff, amazing view and excellent location.
S. H.
This is nice place to go for a drink and something to eat. It has a great view over the Thames. The staff are very friendly and price is reasonable. Great place.
M.
Beautifully set and served, an upscale pub food with great variety of beers and ciders on the banks of the Themes. What else could you ask?
R. F.
One of my favourite pub on the river Thames! Great food with nice presentation and friendly staff
E. W.
Really enjoyed this place in the sun for a late breakfast and a cheeky gin. Right on the themes front so we could watch the world go by, We dropped in on the way past one day and loved it so much we booked for the next day, even though we are not vegetarians we have the vegetarian breaks was yummy. Deffo recommend
A. K.
A very nice place in London to eat something! The burgers are okey, not the freshest ones I've ever had but still tasty. The chips are very nice, very crispy! The pumpkin beetroot buckweed and the fish & chips were good as well. The service was okey. The cherry on the top is the atmosphere with the view on the thames.
E. E.
Delicious roast celariac soup with sourdough bread, friendly customer service, nice atmosphere
R. W.
Lovely place. Didn't eat anything but Good choice of beers. Great view
J. C.
I had a great English Breakfast by the river there. The view at night is also stunning!
K. M.
Great stop off on a South Bank walk at any time of day, but especially late in the evening with the views across the Thames. Friendly staff and varied clientèle.
R.
Outdoor heaters don't work, they didn't tell us when made the booking and they put the umbrellas down when it was raining because they said they had blown over before.
So a health and safety hazard which they could have fixed during lockdown.
The electric heaters that do work are above the umbrellas so absolutely useless.
They ruined the sticky toffee pudding, you don't mess with a classic!
Our waitress was very nice and helpful.
Some of the other staff were not, we felt unwelcome so we went to a pub on the opposite side of the river and had a lovely time.
N. K.
Convenient location right by the water. The full English breakfast is great for the price (but note that it doesn't come with black pudding).
I. B.
Served with youngs special when i asked for original but still a good pint ,no complaints.
C. S.
Lovely pub by the Thames, really nice interior but the weather was great so we sat outside
b. g.
Great pub. Good beers. Can get busy at the bar, but that view is so unique it's worth every waiting minute.
L. P.
Lovely food...good service...highly recommend.
P. A.
Friendly staff and lovely food and drinks.
H. Z.
Great vibe & good view of the River Thames. Just drink is at the high end of the price range.
M. S.
Been here a few times - lovely location, food and service always great!
L. E.
Situated near the South Bank by the River Thames, very popular bar. Will visit again. 😊👍
K. D.
Amazing vibe and great service! Beautiful views across the Thames too!
S. E.
Really lovely staff and a stellar location... the food is overly average for he price. It is really expensive. Feel bad saying so as I witnessed the manager yelling at a chef. It was uncomfortable. He wasn't trained. Not his fault.
S. C.
This place has an amazing view and serves great fish and chips
M. W.
Had fish and chips and something that resembled mushy peas ! For the price it wasn't up to much ! Chips were too crispy and rock hard ! Don't like the idea if brown paper on ya plate as once you put vinegar on ect you find your chewing the paper as it's gone soggy and stuck to the fish !
G. R.
I like design of the restaurant, but I didn´t like that we had to order at bar. Toiettes and tables were dirty. Food was average.
A. H.
Nice friendly Riverside pub with good beers and stunning views.
J. B.
Good pub! Food is decent pub grub and good beer on tap. The seating outside is nice if the sun's out. Inside is well decorated too.
M. K.
Location is great just beside Thames and scenic view. Variety of drinks & Food
S. W.
Reasonable tourist pub. Views of the Thames. Extensive drinks selection
D. S.
Amazing view, good food and great staff
V.
Great place to unwind after a hard day's work. Awesome food and excellent people work here.
J. K.
Nice outing seating areas. Quite packed indoor on the weekends. Good fish and chips.
D. C.
Good food drink stop off pre or post tate gallery. Good youngs bitter.
P. L.
Lovely staff but not the best Guinness
D. D.
Vibrant modern pub on the banks of the Thames. Outdoor heaters which are handy too!!!
F. D.
Good service, nice atmosphere, warm inside, good beer, bit pricey though
N. B.
Very nice restaurant at the river. We had burgers and fish and chips. We definitely recommend it!
C. N.
Always good to visit for food or drink when walking the Southbank. Good outside space with heaters and river views. Good very tasty and staff friendly. Good value considering the location
D.
Decent spot to have a few drinks next to the river. Currently you have to order your drinks through the Young's On Tap App which wasn't working for me the last time I was there.
E. C.
Friendly service, great view of the Thames. Perfect stop for lunch while at the Tate next door.
S. L.
This place is absolutely fantastic. The food is really good and so are the large range of beers available. It really isn't expensive considering it's London, and their brunch is a pure culinary orgasm. We enjoyed a lovely moment, facing the Thames and the city in the back. Would definitely come back!
T. G.
Lovely lunch with a wonderful view 😍🇬🇧 Nice staff and menu!
J. G.
Great view, nice bar. Can be a struggle to get served but it's a popular place!
S. R.
A pleasant place on the Southbank to which one can repair after a trip to Tate Modern. Camden and Beavertown ales on offer, to sup whilst enjoying views over to St Paul's.
S.
Quick pint for train home. Nice place to chill after a day in town.
A. H.
Young's always has a good venue when it comes to pubs. This gets the full 5* given the clean premises and the view overlooking the Thames. Order on the app.
D. D.
As I remember it, nice venue, great views of old father Thames..
V. J.
The view was spectacular, the food tasted amazing and was prepared the way I specified. The staff are also really friendly and really helped out with the allergy information menu. I tried the stake and would defiantly recommend. They also now do vegetarian and also vegan options which means food for the whole family.
S. A.
Great location on the bank of the Thames. Serve meals as well.
L.
Really nice pub in a great location right next to Blackfriars Station. Good selection of drinks and food. The service was a bit slow on a Saturday night which lead to some queuing at the bar but on the whole very enjoyable.
A. V.
Staff are great but the prices always make my eyes water more than my ex boyfriend
F. C.
Great location & Fish and Chips. Founders All Day IPA on tap.
W. L.
Good spec. Toilets clean. Food always wrong when ordered here. Friendly service though. Outside seating good.
J. H.
It was my 1st there. The weather was fantastic. I was out for lunch with my girlfriend. We had the fish & chip for lunch. We received excellent service and the food was delicious. Well done to everyone😃
S. H.
Lovely pub with good service and good food next to the Thames and a short walk from the Globe.
D. G.
Nice pub right by the river with great views/atmosphere.
d. c.
Lovely views across the river but poor distancing measures...
S. V.
Fantastic atmosphere, we only had drinks but we stayed for 3 hours. We sat outside as the views are stunning
j. R.
Great location with wonderful views, beautiful food and very friendly staff. We were served by Julia and she couldn't have been more helpful. Thanks 😊
D. T.
Very delicious food and great service. We felt lucky to find this place.
D. G.
Not an unpleasant experience, but nothing special as far as pubs go. Although a nice spot along the Thames for a summer evening drink. Always busy as it's in tourist town, so don't expect to get a table easily. Drinks prices are above average for London. Service can be slow, but that's more to do with how busy it is than staff. Definitely worth dropping into if you're at the Tate, but not a great place to go regularly.
C. T.
Great view and ambience. Expensive, mediocre food (fish and chips). Quite disappointed. The mulled wine was actually good, but for a small cup I found it overpriced. Having to download and app and sign up when I got there was too much work.
D. B.
Tourist prices but what would you expect with such views of the Thames
D. B.
Grab a seat outside, epic view of St Paul's and the city, not to mention the fascinating life of the ever busy Thames. Great service. Great Guiness. Thanks
I. I.
Expensive. Busy. Impossible to get a seat. Amazing views of the Thames. Good drinks.
N. R.
Perfect viewing spot of the Thames if you manage to secure an outside table and heater.
C. M.
Nice lil pub with great atmosphere around. Perfect view of the thames with a drink. Staff are cheerful and helpful too. I would recommend to anyone and would love to visit it again.
D. G.
Great place by the Thames to stop and have a drink while walking the Thames footpath
D. B.
Great location but £6.20 for a Ram & Special - Fek dat!!!
E. S.
Last minute drink in this bar with a great view. Appreciate the attention to the covid rules. Nice chat with the assistant manager, genuinely loves her job and makes the pub a feel like a local pub in a tourist area
K. G.
Went for lunch without a booking, we were accomodated well and all the procedures followed made me feel safe. My friend had sausage and mash which he said was great and i had the macaroni which was so yummy but i couldn't finish it. We really enjoyed our cosy lunch out watching the rain and the staff looked after us so well.
B. L.
Great place to chill and hang around with friends. Lovely food that comes with a spectacular view of St. Paul and steps away from Tate modern.
A. T.
M. L.
Nice view, but food portions are small.
J. C.
London prices, food that is nothing to rave about riverside location, a good selection of ales. How can a burger cost close to 20 quid? A bit like bank charges!!!
A. B.
A lovely location, but a standard Young’s pub with very little personality.
J. B.
Great place for a quick drink and to watch the world go by.
C.
Everything about this place is good: the food selection and quality, the service with a smile, the view of the river Thames.
Spacious, there is space between the tables, so it is not too cramped and privacy is respected. It is calm with soft music.
Casual or smart and a nice covered area for the smokers. It is also child friendly and overall a warm and pleasant environment.
I would go for breakfast next time, it looks good.
m.
Amazing atmosphere with the view of st Paul.

Wonderful views of the Thames River with a nice beer & pub food selection.
S. H. (.
Great location, clean premises and friendly staff. We had beer and a snack at expected prices.
T. C.
Lovely place, great food and beatiful view.
T. W.
Great place with solid food, great drinks, and incredible views.
V. H. B.
Food was Ok, beer was great but he service could be improved. Nice views.
H. S.
Great location, easy to find so good for large group rendezvous points
P. M.
Great location, great views. Service let's it down a bit.
B. D.
The gins are a bit pricey, but the site makes it worth it. Mens toilet strategically located at top of narrow stairs to demonstrate each patrons degree of inebriation.
b. b.
Fav fish & chips with a view. Sit outside, grab a pint and enjoy the city
T. H.
Good example of Young's Pub, Young's Bitter was in good condition and served correctly, thank you
A. G.
Can you name a pub in London with a better view? On the other side of the river, by the Tate modern, an incredible location to grab a cold beer with your friends. Lots of space(inside and outside) to relax and enjoy. The view of St Paul is just amazing.
S. P.
Superb location with brilliant views.
Service was extremely slow and the menu was lacking. Very noisy inside.
S. T.
Nice food,price/value and friendly staff 👍🏻
K. M.
This is one of the most quintessential modern London pubs. A great meeting place on days off. Very good first date...
My wife and I had our first date here many years ago.
It always has an atmosphere of a bustling cosmopolitan holiday. There's also the option of more formal pub dining if you are savvy enough to book. Otherwise it's indoor and outdoor seating and orders taken from the bar.
Food is pricey, but can't be faulted. £15/20 for a main. They have a sparse children's menu but good quality food for littlies.
Great selection of wines and beers.
K. L.
One of the best views from a pub in London, certainly worth a visit if you are anywhere near the South Band
M. T.
This is probably one of my fav pubs in town. The view is great and the staff really works hard and trying the best as they can when is super busy. Really recommend it even to pop in for a quick drink.
J. G.
Great for a summer cool down before 4pm. Anytime after and the bar is full. Suits crowd.
L. Z.
This place is absolutely amazing! It’s reasonably priced, offers great quality food, a wide selection of beers, and you get a wonderful view of the river and St’ Paul’s cathedral. It’s even better during the summer when you can just sit by the river and enjoy the sun.
Suggestion: try the mushroom burger. Delicious!
M. R.
Standard pub. Good food, good ales, job done really
G. R.
Great location by the river for a sunny day. Helpful staff
G. R.
Always enjoy a few beers here on the Saturday evening before the Sunday Firemen's Memorial Service outside St Paul's.
J. A.
Stopped in for lunch with the Mrs and kids on our way to family visit to Tate Modern. Social distancing seemed to be working more or less, staff were very helpful although not obviously used to dealing with toddlers, but the kids fish and chips were fantastic (freshly battered cod pieces) and no food was wasted, and we enjoyed our grown-up portions too. Other clientele were suitably trendy and mostly unencumbered by squirts, would recommend for most occasions if you're passing by or planning a brunch etc.
A. M.
Apart from the location, right on the river and right next door to the Tate Modern, this is an unremarkable pub. Big, light, modern and very tidy but nothing special. It does, however, get full marks for Covid security; they are definitely on the ball.
R. H.
Great upmarket pub with some tasty food. Its table service but there was only one girl serving the area we were in so took forever to get served. Be warned during busy periods as there definitely wasn't enough staff on. Our waitress didn't stop rushing around.
We ordered a share plate and some sides. Not bad and good for a dinner by the Thames with some fantastic views.
G. H.
A little hidden gem obviously well used by the locals for various activities. Flower beds still looked good in the heat of the day.
L. N.
A nice pub with a great view, but very overpriced and a basic selection of beer. Go if you want to sit outside (they have heaters too) and look at st Pauls, otherwise go a bit further along the bank towards Westminster where you'll find a better selection of well kept beer for the same price.
M. H.
It's a chain pub on the south bank, great for a drink but a little too loud if you want to actually talk to your company.
H. T.

Ordered fish and ships. I liked it. Staff was lovely.
K. E.
Fabulous bar/ restaurant, fab location with an amazing view down the river Thames with a nice outside area right on the river.
We organised our engagement party here and the staff were super helpful and friendly every time I spoke to them. Organising payments, deposits, tabs etc all made super easy.
We ordered 4 of the sharing platters which were delicious and really good value for money. I was worried there wouldn’t be enough for 25-30 guests but there was more than enough and some left over. Great selection of food as well.
Great atmosphere, we really enjoyed our time here. Lovely place!
P. J. A. C.
I really liked the atmosphere and people drinking enjoying the music by the river. Just what I needed on my way home :)
G. K.
Awesome view of the thanks. Great authentic English menu and of course loads of beer if you are looking at pubbing it!
J. G.
Booked a space for 15 for a family get together. We had a good table and some comfy chairs reserved for us just by the windows in this roomy and clean pub in a prime spot right opposite St Paul’s. Food was great although the 45 minute wait was excessive given how busy I imagine this place is all the time. Very pleasant service from the friendly and efficient staff however. Definitely a worthwhile stop.
S. G.
This pub is in a great location and right by the Tate Modern and Blackfriars Station. It can get very busy, but in general the service is pretty good. They have a fair choice of drinks and the price is not too bad. Great place to be outside in the summer. There is a specific area for eating so I think you can take your family here for a meal if you can get a table. At night the pub seems to attract a more diverse and vibrant crowd and can be a good place to stop off on a riverside pub crawl.
A. S.
A friendly and nice pub in a wonderful location.. If you will sit outside you can easily lost your mind while you observe St Paul's cathedral.. Exactly near by, Tate modern with beautiful pieces of art and after all that, just have a walk next to Thames River. 👌
M. D.
I just love this pub. It's beautifully located, with a great view of the Thames and St Paul's Cathedral. Great atmosphere, amazing variety of beers. We went on Christmas day and had a heavenly turkey roast. I could say it's my favourite London pub!
S. R.
Ask the bartenders for a plastic cup, walk 10 meters away from the terrace, sit on the Thames' bank and enjoy the view on what is the closest to a beach in London
H. E.
Friendly staff, great location, plenty of seating and a good choice of beers and drinks!
R. T.
The pub is situated on the South Bank close to Blackfriars station. It has fantastic views across the Thames. Although we didn't eat on this occasion does good pub food. Good atmosphere and decent service.
S. J.
Felt a bit like a slightly nicer wetherspoons. Maybe it is one? Service was fast and friendly despite it being busy. The burger was perfectly average. Nothing amazing, but perfectly edible. Good range of beers and normal London prices. Generally clean and pleasant if lacking atmosphere.
D. D.
Other than loud when busy, good, reasonably priced food.
S. K.
Really enjoyed an afternoon in this pub with a friend. Right next to the Thames, the outdoor seating gives you great views of the city. The fries are one of the best I have ever had. Beers are also great. Actually, one of the beers I had was flat but I got it promptly replaced. What's more, this pub is right outside south end of the Blackfriars train station. The tube station is just across the bridge. I would have loved a more comfortable seating arrangement (instead of just benches) but I would still give them 5 stars for everything else.
B. M.
Lovely restaurant pub set along a gorgeous view of the river Thames. Quite a nice vibe to it and as a tourist of the city I felt quite welcome. I must admit make sure to order extra fruit with ya drinks as you do get extra value here. With enough drinks one could set up a fruitery outside and make some of the money they spend on London priced drinks.
Also the stairs to mens can combine as a mid sesh cardio work out.
C. C.
Nice spot for a pub, but unfortunately doesn't lend itself well to conversation. The Guinness was alright though.
A. F.
Quick and pleasant service, but like several of the very highly frequented establishments on the South it is starting to look faded and grubby, particularly the toilets.
C. S.
Get pub for out door seating. Lots of beers and ales . Pretty freindly staff for a pub with some difficult customers.
m. c.
The beer 🍺is over priced... But it's a nice pub..
A. S.
Lovely bar restaurant next to Thames with amazing views!
A. P.
OK pun. Good location. Good drinks menu. But nothing fancy.
D. E.
Great location, friendly young staff- shame about the food. We went this afternoon before going to the Tate. I had steak and ale pie with mash and my friend had battered cod and chips with mushy peas. My pie and mash was warm not hot (not helped by a cold plate).I returned it and was given a new serving, no questions asked. My friend's cod was a generous portion but the batter was too thick and heavy.
With the superb location and views I would not have normally queried the price of the food. But I have had much better and far cheaper food at smaller pubs and restaurants. We were both really disappointed with the standard of the food. Which was a shame.
B. K.
Great view of London and perfect for a drink and bar food. Not many tables outside.
A. B.
Lovely local pub, excellent staff. Terrible Guinness, but that's more London than their fault lol. Highly recommend!
B. L.
Great Riverside venue if a little pricey. Friendly and helpful staff (eventually).
A. S.
Lovely bar restaurant next to Thames with amazing views!
B. P.
Great food, decent pub grub.
C. B.
Careful when ordering a double G&T...Costs about £15!!!
B. L.
Excellent view - pricier food as a result
M. P.
Great location, good range of beer and food, not too expensive.
S. d.
Not terrible, nice views.
The food was OK and the drinks are expensive.
M. H.
It's a chain pub on the south bank, great for a drink but a little too loud if you want to actually talk to your company.
A. F.
Quick and pleasant service, but like several of the very highly frequented establishments on the South it is starting to look faded and grubby, particularly the toilets.
L. A. !.
Great service
Nothing was too much for the waitress, very helpful with Allergies.
Lovely home cooked food.
Beautiful views of the Thames.
Lots of outdoor seating.
N. W.
A decent pub on the Southbank. Often quite busy but it deserves to be. A nice place with plenty of seating outside by the river with good views over London. Good beer selection including a range of Young's beers and a few craft options.
Also has good food - standard pub grub.
Music is quite loud which lost it a point.
F. C.
Great atmosphere every time. The only thing is bar staff should be a bit more speedier in serving at busy times and clearing the tables in and out.
View from outside drinking area is priceless with main landmark of London making this place a must in visit.
Food menu looks interesting too.
M. W.
Nice view on Thames river bank, busy all the time. We couldn't get our food, all ran out in evening 5 pm. Missed the chance to taste. Ended with crisps packets and cider. The seats outside had nice river view. Close to Tate Modern museum.
M. C.
The food was terrific and I really wish I could've given this place a five star review from dining there. However the service was terrible: Noelle's (I believe it was her name) attitude was incredibly disrespectful when she took our order, and her responses were uninformative when we asked her questions regarding the menu. We also were charged a bottle of still water when we clearly double checked with another waitress (she was wearing glasses) on if the bottle was free or not. The other waitress confirmed with us that the bottle was free, but when the bill came she and Noelle adamantly and rudely denied us of their previous statement. They just walked away even when we tried to reason with them. I really didn't want to scold or argue with them in public, but I truly hope their attitude and customer service communication skills improve in the future; I truly don't wish that other customers experience the same thing that me and my friends did today. However keep up with the food though, it was absolutely delicious!
M. B.
One of my favourite bars in London. Getting here is so easy, it's a nice 15 minute walk from either London Bridge or Embankment/Waterloo and whichever walk you take to get here you'll be treated to panoramic views of the sprawling London metropolis around you.
But the lovely views don't end there. With their all glass exterior, wherever you nestle down inside this Riverside Watering hole you'll be treated to lovely views of the Thames in front and the City Lights along the river.
The bar itself can get a bit cold sometimes if someone leaves a door open, so be careful not to site *right* by the doors if you can avoid it.
As a bar itself, it's best selling point is it's location but also it's lovely atmosphere and in the handful of times I've come here I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for service.
But if sitting inside isn't your cup of tea, they haven't forgotten about the exterior either. With benches warmed with outside fire warmers at each table those who want to experience the ambiance of the river flowing past up close can still enjoy a pint.
Definitely one of the nicest pubs in London, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg either- a real treat and definitely would recommend for Londoner and tourist alike!
L. S.
A little bit of a tourist trap but it’s worth it on a sunny day. Unfortunately it’s not easy to find a spot to sit in the outside area.
The decor is nice and the food is enjoyable. The service tends to be slow, often without too much attention for the customers waiting. I’ve once been told off because I asked to be served instead of waiting for the barman to notice me standing at the bar 😒 oh well, better luck next time.
C. M.
Pub is very popular always busy. Food there was nice even though we only had chips with our alcohol as it was a work party :D. Cant comment on prices of drink as I didn't buy any, colleagues brought them for me :D
A. L. d. S.
If you are looking for a drink after visiting Tate, this is a great place. Not the traditional British pub. Very nice views of the river and the City. Loud music at night. Average range of wines and beers. Average - high price
C. “. G.
Friendly pub in one of the most beautiful spot in London. Friendly staff and healthy food with quite good selection of beers
C. F.
Great pub along the South Bank in London. Perfect to spend some time while waiting for a train at Blackfriars
P. L.
Had a really nice time here the other day. The sun was shining and had the best view over the Thames. Can't get much better. The pub itself had a great selection of drinks and the menu looked really good too.
M. B.
Good place to take people who arent local to London. Great views over the river and down to the city. Its a big space but can still get busy - leave plenty of time if you are ordering food. A bit tourist-tastic too, but hey.
L. B.
I love this pub! Amazing food. Amazing drinks. Amazing staff. Amazing views. My husband and I had our first date in The Founders Arms 25 years ago and we travelled all the way up from kent on our anniversary to enjoy a meal here. We were treated to a complimentary glass of prosecco and the manager made a point of coming over to congratulate us. The atmosphere is relaxed and staff are friendly. Comfortable seating adds to the relaxed feel and the views are the best you will get. I can't wait to go back.
S.
Nice long bar. Gin's drinks on the menu. Local London beer Camden. Nice surroundings. Glassed. Great view on
st. Paul's Cathedral and The City. Large beer garden with lots of tables and chairs.
J. H.
This pub has one of the best vistas of the London skyline. Sitting right on the banks of the Thames it is a lovely place to sit on a summer's evening and watch the sun go down. Good selection of beers too.
V. A.
Excellent location with choice to sit outside or indoors. I had fish n chips and bear. Peas were side as mashed. Ketchup, mustard and vinegar bottles were provided to each table. Food was good. Price is worth for the location.
Found this place while walking along Queen's walk from London Eye.
The great views and good food options make this place a great pick when in the vicinity especially when visiting Tate Modern.
K. S.
Nice pub on the Thames with fantastic views. Always rammed so people spill out onto bank. I'd recommend that you go prior to 5pm on a work night as it gets busy quick and sometimes takes a while to get served. Food was nice (I had fish and chips).
During winter they have heaters for those sitting outside
S. N.
Fantastic location on the Thames just next to the Tate Modern make this pub a winner. It's also very kid friendly. The menu is ok, some typical British pub dishes such as fried fish.and chips, plus some more creative, healthier things, too. Vegetarian fare is pretty good, a little too light. Try to sit outside if the weather is nice, the view onto the water and the rest of London is excellent. You have to order at the counter and your food will be served to you at your table.
D. M.
A nice place to take in the view of the river. Naturally, however, drink prices are probably the highest of all pubs in London (2 x old moats = £12.60)...… didn't have any food but looked like standard pub chain fare.
M. H.
Came across this pub after a day out in London. Just outside Blackfriars Station with seating outside looking onto the river. Popped in for a drink before going home, friendly staff, typically London prices but nice, would go back.
K. G.
Great view of Thames either sit inside or outside facing the river front with a view of St. Paul’s. 4 starts just for the amazing views. Good selection of beers, ales and food options too. Have a nice evening with friends here.
X. E.
Nice place on the water next to blackfriars station. You can chill out with mulled wine and watch the boats go by.. .
A. T.
Good beer, nice view on the river.
E.
Cannot be beat for a summertime drink on the river. Very popular place given its location on the shore near london and millennium bridges. But there can be moments of tranquility even, depending on the time. I thought that's what I'd contribute in my photos, which juxtapose the feeling of tranquility with the bustle of a pub. Photo capturing a beautiful moment in my own head, waiting for a friend, saf in the best seat in the house. I haven't dined here but from what I can tell, the pub fare looks decent. Definitely a go to place for the summertime feels. Thanks for the service!
D. M.
Love this pub. So handy after viewing exhibitions at the TATE MODERN.
Brilliant to chill with pints of "Young's Ordinaire" while casting glances at the lovely lights along the Thames at night.
You HAVE to try it!!!
S. H.
nice pub to sit on the river. sit in the sun if you can
K. D.
Nice looking place on the Thames but we waited over an hour for our food which came at all different times. The manager was very helpful and tried his best to fix the food delay. Portions weren’t the best, especially for the Mac n cheese on the sharing menu which was tiny for the 8£ it cost.

Great pub on Southbank of the Thames. Really great atmosphere every time I went. Lovely outdoor seating. Limited space in the pub and outside if looking to sit and have a couple of drinks or nibbles. Would be best to book a table if wanting to sit and drink. There is a restaurant section of looking for a sit down meal specifically.
Otherwise, great pub with friendly staff and fantastic views of London and amazing location on the Thames. Easy access with a short walk from Blackfriars station. Great stop off before heading to The Globe for a show!

What looks like your typical river-side pub at first glance turns out to be a pretty decent little boozer. Fantastic views of the Tate Modern and St Paul’s Cathedral complement the decent food and ample beer selection. Good for a couple probably not an entire evening.

Enjoed my beer in a nice location. 8.5/10 for value. 0.5 is for the view of London's skyline. Staff very attentive. Bar staff friendly and seem to know who is next in the cue. Have not eaten here as plenty of other lunch options in the location. I can confirm that the food presentation looks good, have seen a few others receive their food order, and they seemed happy with their meal.

This is one of my favourite central London spots on the river. You have good views of st Paul's and are just down from London bridge. The drinks are pretty standard London prices and the food is expensive for what it is. It's about £17 for a main or £5 for a few chips. Still love it for a drink though

I am not a regular customer, however on the few occasions I have been here, I have noticed it is a typical, pleasant, London pub. I would like to highlight that one member of staff in particular sincerely deserves recognition. Ade is a conscientious hard working and polite member
of staff. He is always well presented and diligent. Considering the pub becomes very busy, he always ensures that if he is approached by a customer he stops whatever he is doing to ensure that he gives them his full attention. This guy needs recognition and a pay rise...

I found the staff to be very friendly and I loved the fact that you can use your phone for table service. I'm disabled so always in favour of anything that saves me a walk. I forgot my Radar key and the staff were so helpful when I asked for the one behind the bar.

A great pub by the river with outside areas looking over to St Paul's. Excellent choice of beers and ales on tap, good food and staff who can handle 3 or 4 deep at the bar on a sunny day.

Nice pub. Didn't eat just stopped for a few drinks. Very helpful staff. Love being waited on with drinks brought to you. Long may this last. Not the reason but this is better for everyone.
D. F.
Nice place. Very busy.

Amazing view, amazing beer. I recommend this pub.

Perfect setting wonderful Staff slick and organised!

Great location and a favourite place alongside the River to have a cheeky drink
A. W.
Good food and beers and great setting by the Thames
E. N.
Nice place to stop for a drink
S. G.
My favourite Thames side pub.
A. O.
Great views as ever.

Can you name a pub in London with a better view? On the other side of the river, by the Tate modern, an incredible location to grab a cold beer with your friends. Lots of space(inside and outside) to relax and enjoy. The view of St Paul is just amazing.

Great to a beer stop during the Thames side walk

Really enjoyed eating at this place, we went on Saturday dinner time so the place was very busy which is to be expected given the location. The food was delicious and reasonably priced drinks (London rates of course).
Between my girlfriend and me we had the half chicken with onion rings and potato salad and pork and apricot sausages with mash. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked, my only criticism would be that the plates of food lacked any vegetables, which is a personal preference although I appreciate it is pub food and vegetables can be ordered as a side dish, at an extra cost of course. Service from the two ladies who served us was very friendly and professional and despite the business of the place everything was done in a timely manner.
If you are ok with a busy pub then everything else about this place ticks every box, if you’re looking for somewhere a bit quieter, then look elsewhere but good luck finding it in central London.

Right in the middle of everything. This is right at the thames with great views if London. Very friendly and attentive staff and a big range of beers and spirits. Food is great. It gets busy at the late afternoon from office crowds. But there's plenty of space inside and out. Perfect London pub!

One of my favourite pubs along the Thames, I used to work near by and miss this place. There is loads of outdoor which is fantastic in the summer and actually not too bad in winter as there is outdoor heating and blankets. It can get pretty busy so be prepared to queue a bit. The staff are mega friendly though. I hear there has been a recent refurbishment too.

This place gets 4 stars because of the location and views across the Thames to St Paul's Cathedral. It's a pretty standard Young's pub, but without much character or charm. Reasonable beer list, the burger I had was good also. Personally I just prefer places with more character, but there's nothing wrong with this place in general.

Sick view and a great location. Amazing prices for a pub in central London.
Pretty cozy place. Definitely would recommend it.
R. H.
Delicious roast dinner and lovely views across the river!

Finally, was lucky enough to get a table. Always busy, for a good reason that is. The view is brilliant, so with a good company, your drink, prolly grab a bite as well, perfect combo.

Great views over the Thames. A lovely spot to stop after a walk along the Southbank. Food's decent. Can sometimes be hard to get a good table due to crowds.
C. W.
Comfortable and clean and a great riverside location - but £5.75 a pint is rather rich!
J. B.
Very pleasant place for a drink with an old friend. Lovely to look out over the city skyline.
Would have been great to have been able to grab a seat rather than have to stand but understandable given fantastic location and beautiful weather.
Service was prompt and efficient, can’t comment on quality of food as only drinks purchased.
P. M.
The view you can enjoy sitting at this pub is most definitely one of the most beautiful you can enjoy in London, at least on a sunny and clear day.
The service can be quite lousy both in the room at behind the bar, so come equipped with a lot of patience.
Quality of food is good, commensurate with the "gastropub" attribute.
C. P.
Nice location and friendly staff. A bit expensive but that may be the area.
S. I.
I would call it self-service since we needed to get the menu by ourselves and also ordered and carried the tray by ourselves
G. R.
Full of tourists and an abnormally long wait to be served at the bar of an evening but you can't fault the riverside location with the sun setting over Blackfriars station and Old Man Thames lapping down below. Worth the busyness for the setting.
If you're after a decent pint of not lager, carry on further down river but if you just want a wettening and a quick chat, it's alright.
D. M.
Really enjoy going there. Cracking vantage point for views of the Thames and St. Pauls. Really busy yesterday but they managed to sort a table quite quickly.
P. M.
Great food, drinks, service and an absolutely beautiful view of London's landmarks. Nice fresh London Air.
D. R.
The ice cream was good. It was raining, but I imagine the views are good
J. P.
Nice view,
Close to riverside
Prices OK
I did like it

Pub and restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating that provides nice views of the Thames, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the city. Located right by the Tate Modern. Go for the views and sit outside at sunset with a pint.

Great location and views of London food good and staff very helpful

Arrived in London mid- morning . We decided to walk along the embankment and take in the sights along the way. On our way ( near to lunch ) we spotted the Founders Arms . It was a good location and had both inside and outside seating . Initially we chose to sit outside but then it poured down so we moved inside. We all decided on the full English . It was good value and tasty .
M. R.
Normal sort of london pub however fabulous location right by the river with lovely outside terrace. Perfect place to rest your tired feet and down a well earned pint after trekking round Tate Modern

Lovely view and lovely Breakfast fast and affordable and efficient
M. M.
Best pub with a view in London!
D. M.
Lovely modern youngs pub. Modern decorated clean the staff look presentable. Can get very busy.
You have to download the app to book a table and to place a order.
Was given a table right near the exit so it was quite drafter it was a very cold rainy day, and the heater door was not on.
I asked if I could be moved with no luck.
We waited quite a while for our food. Two of them came out and we had to wait another almost 15mins for the other two.
When my roast came out it was well presented but the food was cold.
I was given another one and that was much better.
M. S.
Friendly quick service, good options for people not wanting to eat meat.
J. R.
Large bar and restaurant directly on the river. It really has a great feel both inside and out. It's worth a visit as you walk along the Thames.
Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz

Wonderful position on the banks of the Thames bur it's not complemented by this pub. There's no proper queuing system but staff insist you have to queue, so you find newcomers stepping in front of you if you stand in wrong place. I didn't find them very welcoming. My party spent £100 probably but it could have been £1.00 for all they cared. I think they know they're in a prime location so there is no customer service ethos whatsoever. No management presence evident so they do as they like. I just hope tourists don't judge us all by this pub!
A. O.
A really outstanding pub! The view outside of the Thames is amazing! The food here is exceptional and the drinks are fantastic. This is one of my new favourite pubs to visit every time I am in London
R. P.
Nice pub in a great location. Fairly standard, global pub food - burgers and chips, fish etc. Good selection of beers on tap. Service is friendly, fairly no-frills. The view across the Thames is fantastic.
L. H.
Good to see you open, again (outdoors). Excellent service, drinks, lush burger and fries! Good attentive and friendly staff. Cheers!
A. C.
Great position and great staff. Knowledge about the products they sell is refreshing with some good recommendations
D. U.
Great atmosphere. Good wine and ale. Didn't try food, looks like usual overpriced warmed up options- no 'home's cooking.
D. D.
I always find the founders arms staff to be friendly, the coffee is always good (amazingly for a pub!!) Drinks are good and the other half says they always serve a good pint (indicating the beer lines are cleaned regularly) I would and have recommended this pub many times. Great view from all areas too, so bring your camera!!
R. N.
Great location, lovely modern interior, nice staff, great views. Overall fantastic, but loses two stars for the crazy prices.. perfect place to go if you want a small bowl of £4.5 chips and a £6 pint
J. H.
Great atmosphere, staff are always helpful, wonderful views.

Nice place along the Southbank and in a premium place. Wonderful views of london. Nicely done inside and large bar area. Staff prompt and professional and friendly. Decent choice of beers and plenty of wines to pick. Gets very busy on a sunny day. Lots of ourdoor seating.
R. H.
We often come here because of its position on the Thames, which is wonderful. Drinks are obviously quite expensive, as is food. There's a good selection of beers and wines. Food is fine, nothing special.
R. D.
Very expensive, even by central London standards, but I guess you're paying for the view. The beer selection is fairly average for a Fullers pub but they've got a reasonable mix. Plenty of outside seating. The bar staff seem a little slow at times although it was never more than a 5 minute wait at the bar.
K. C.
A delightful Spring Gin menu! Loved the view of the thames and St.Pauls from our dining table.
B. L.
Excellent view - pricier food as a result
C. H.
Went there for a drink. You had to wait a bit to served. The seat did not get cleaned quite regularly as we hoped but they were quick in cleaning empty bottles. It is in a nice location with good views.
G. J.
Large, very pleasant gastro pub with friendly and efficient staff. Caters for locals, local workers and canny tourists, being on the South Bank, close to the RFH and NT. It serves gastro style food and has a brunch menu. Food was a little disappointing on the latest visit.
Great views of the City and St Paul's from the pub and veranda.
Best of all, it's a Young's pub!
