Nice pub friendly staff. We had a Nachos and were made with a proper tortillas it was lovely. Only negative for me was could of had a little bit more cheese. The rest was great hence only 4 stars.

Amazing pub, really friendly atmosphere and fantastic food. Have discovered this pub recently, a favourite place to visit to eat and have a beer. Food is great. Good choice of beer. We always seat outside in the lovely garden area, heated and covered available when raining. We will be back definitely. 👌🏻 Thank you to the amazing team at Garden Gate and Adam the waiter for amazing service always looking after us, our drinks and how we are feeling. 💯💯🔥🔥

5 star!! Service 10/10. Great atmosphere & ample seating spaces inside & out. Dog friendly!!!! We were given freebie doggie treats for our lil munchkin (these went down very well) with water which was lovely! We went on a saturday when there was a bit of sun so naturally was fairly busy and was a queue but it took around 4 mins to get seated. Drinks were great. Defo coming back here!

This is my favourite pub in the area (and there is some good competition!). Proper old school pub vibes, especially on a Sunday - families, dogs, muddy walkers from the heath, it's great. Lucy, the manager, is always welcoming and friendly. Great pub!

Was in over the weekend with my kids lovely place. The lady that served us was called Leanne excellent customer service. Will definitely be coming again and have told friends and family to visit 10/10 For food atmosphere and Customer service.

Went and had some of the best chips I've had in a long time and my husband got one of his favourite beers. Beautiful venue with a cosy sofa corner but also a huge outdoor area which must look beautiful at night. Great daytime staff as well who took it in their stride that we were using the corner to breastfeed and change our baby on our first outing. Will come back as soon as we can.

Very good choice of food, more than just pub grub. There should be something there for everyone. As for beer, I particularly enjoyed the Plum Porter

Excellent food, great service as ever. Special thanks to Shahid for looking after us.

Popped in during the week never been before was very pleasantly surprised the food was great and the staff were more than welcoming and couldn't do enough to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, a special thanks to norbert and leanne for being so attentive. Will definitely be back.

Hannah was absolutely lovely and a really caring and responsive waitress, the food was great and the quiz was fun! Will be back again x

Lively place with a very pretty garden and we managed to book a table for 2 last minute. The staff is attentive and helpful. Will definitely return. Food was nice too.

Sadly they ran out of all Meat sunday roast by 2.30pm :( such a shame as we had booked in advance. We got the last 2 portions of pie before they ran out of that too. The beef pie was nice, with a good amount of gravy (though not sure I would describe 1 carrot and 1 parsnip as "seasonal vegetables"). Service was very poor, with nowhere near enough staff on shift for the bookings they had. They ran out of sparkling water, offered my friend an alternative drink after she had paid for it, and then just never came back with it. Another friend ordered a diet coke on the app and it took 20 minutes to be delivered to the table. Were offered side plates for our sharing starters that never came. A real shame as it was a lovely pub inside and some of the food was quite nice. Just sadly not very well organised or stocked right now.

Popped in on my way home.. amazing team
My god Glenda and Narberth legends to the core thank you guys I'll be back!!

Food was lovely. I just recommend not to seat at the table without shade. You should find yourself chewing the bugs with the delicious food, continuously being fallen from the trees...

Big outdoor courtyard at the back and more outdoor seating at the front make this a very spacious pub. Good beer, friendly service and most of the food is very good.

I have been to this pub multiple times and every time it's been great. The food is great, there are plenty of craft beers to choose from, and the staff are always very polite and helpful. Even though lately I have realised they have been working understaffed, they've still been super helpful. I would like to mention Glenda the manager is always lovely to talk to!

Was at the hospital around the corner so Popped in for a quick pint never been in before nice place. Very friendly staff ended up staying most of the day special thanks to Lianne very lovely and helpful!

The Garden Gate is a large English pub in the very heart of Hampstead Heath, right at the entrance of Hampstead Heath Park. This large pub is made in the mock Tudor style and has beautiful architecture from the outside and charming interiors too. I would say that the Garden Gate pub is one of the main architectural highlights in this area too. The pub itself is always full of people inside and in the outside garden courtyard. The service is excellent and food amazing! ♥️
D. T.
Very busy pub which was great to see. They catered for all twenty of us despite being mega busy. Food was fresh and tasty so can't ask for anything more. Would definitely go back if i was in the area.
K. K.
Great food and drink choice. The staff were absolutely lovely too. Great place to kill a few hours

Very nice pub. Good atmosphere. Staff seemed friendly. They ran out of most of their food though on the day I went. Was not allowed to order food whilst seated outdoors but could do when I went indoors 30 mins later. A farcical situation.
Let down by frightfully expensive food and drink prices.
Also they were not showing sport on every TV screen so I had to follow it on my phone.
A good pub though.

11/10 service despite being a busy Saturday, food was spot on and staff were very attentive - Shahid and Jada in particular were very on point will be back for sure
H. B.
A fabulous outdoors option and online reservation system welcome. Really happy to see the beyond meat burger (£13.50) on the menu and mulled wine (£6 per glass) bubbling away as we entered. Casual but friendly service, accomodating. Look forward to coming in summer!

Great Sunday Roast accompanied by a bottle of Smooth Talker Merlot! Awesome service- Lianne, Luca and the rest or the staff are super friendly 👌

Brilliant pub and amazing food - a firm north London favourite! A special thanks to Shahid for fabulous and unparalleled service

Lovely venue and outside the garden is always busy. Friendly staff and efficient. Get there early for a good seat and view. The menu is good but sells out fast. Great seating inside especially if you have lower back issue. Very cosmopolitan and dog friendly also. Good for a drink on route or a meal with family or friends. Clean facilities and all government guidelines are adhered to for our safety, bless

Hannah was absolutely lovely and attentive. The food and drinks were great. Will come back again

A very nice and cozy pub. My family and I have been frequenting this pub recently after visiting a family member in the nearby royal free hospital. Nice snacks too.

Burger was good. 2 pints of beer and 2 burgers £37. so I would say rather expensive. The tall stools in the garden are rather uncomfortable. I forgot something at the pub and have been trying to call them . 10 times I know they are there and that it is not to busy on a Wednesday at 1700. I literally just left. Rather disappointed I have tried 2 different numbers x10 as I am in the train. Not to happy.

Excellent food, great service as ever. Special thanks to Shahid for looking after us.

I like this pub, trendy as well as quaint.
Three sides that I notice: the garden is really enjoyable whenever it does not rain and not too cold
The inside restaurant provides a good choice of pub food / pub gourmet meals
Then the bar is also a different side of this place: large discussion and good laughs, it is aside small sofas rooms where you can enjoy rugby’s match on Saturday. Was great at last World Cup toi.

Sausages are of such a good quality. The fish and chips are lovely too. The food was so good that I went back the next day. After 5pm they have tasty bar snacks as well as the main menu. Definitely worth a visit!

Perfect spot for a Sunday roast after a walk through the heath. Food was good and wine lovely. It was absolutely packed which to be fair, was expected. It was 2:30pm on a Sunday! We would have ordered dessert, but weren't asked.

Went to this place over the weekend, had a great time lovely chilled vibe staff was great and very welcoming special thank you to Leanne and Caroline for meeting our every need great team definitely visiting again

It looks like the well established old London Pub of the sort I like.
I only drink ale, mind you so I couldn't offer a more detailed comment on their menu and drinks. Maybe at a later date

Living nearby I have spotted the pub years ago, always wanted to visit but somehow never did until today. I'll make sure to make up for the lost time. I really love the look and feeling of the pub both inside and in the garden. The food is quite nice (not great) and the prices could be lower but not bad for the area. My only complaint is at the end when I had finished my drink but still wanted to chew on the ice cubes (I just enjoy doing that lol) but one of the waitresses just grabbed my glass without asking and so quickly I didn't even have the chance to stop her. Oh well...

Our Sunday roast here was stunning, really well made and the staff was nice as well. Make sure to sit outside if you get the chance! It’s lovely.

A manager called Val was especially amazing in making our experience exceptional - he recommended an amazing red wine it was fabulous and he was very attentive, really goes the extra mile

Fantastic pub, with great outdoor seating. Order your drinks through a website (QR code on tables) and free wi-fi available (note, it does ask for your details).
Good food options, including standard pub grub, and vegan friendly options. Good selection of classic beers and drinks.
Service is Fantastic! Credit to the team who looked after me!

I had a great time here as always, the garden is lovely and the staff very professional and friendly. I recommend it for families too!

Fantastic pub. Good range of beers. Lovely big seating area outside.

Decent crowd and nice vibe. Food looked good. Had a mulled wine as well! Nice on a wet and cold day.

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. We went there with my children ranging in age from 18 months to 15 years for lunch last week. The staff were great and even gave my younger children crayons and pictures to colour while we waited for our food. My 9 year old son is disabled and we found the disabled toilet very accessible. We will definitely go back again. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

The beef roast was EPIC! Compliments to the chef. The pub is lovely inside and the garden is a really pretty place to sit and enjoy time with friends. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The service was on point and dogs are soooooo welcome! I moved out of london 4 years ago but trips like this make me very happy. Definitely worth a return visit from me and my little chihuahua Ralphy

Thank you so much to all the crew at Garden Gate! Especially Dylan! He made our night awesome!

Very relaxing place to spend a Sunday afternoon. We had snacks and dessert with drinks and coffee. Staff very friendly and attentive especially Anne who served us. What we had was lovely. Will be back to have full meal.

Fantastic garden pub with a large outdoor area. Very close to the Heath and good for families and dogs. (Recommend taking the big umbrella/marquee away, makes it feel enclosed)
A. M.
prepared food quickly. delicious vegan burger
h.
Really nice outdoor area to the pub, lovely and green. Almost feels like a continuation of the heath. Spacious too. One thing to change is service via QR code, I can't wait to get back to table service with a real human being.
G. V.
Friendly staff, great food and service. On the side of a busy road but unaffected by external disturbances if you have a seat inside.Nice outdoor sitting area , but be wary of pets if you are not comfortable around or are afraid of them.

Best beer garden in London! The staff are friendly and attentive, and even with social distancing measures in place, the atmosphere is warm and fun! Their roasts are also delicious! Great beer selection too!!

Experience: Great Sunday roast experience overall. Cozy atmosphere indoors. While the weather wasn’t right today, they also have an amazing outdoor area which I’ll definitely be back for. Proximity to Heath also makes it for dogspotting.
Food: Very good roast elements. The baked Camembert with rosemary and garlic starter to was amazing as was sticky toffee.
Service: Super nice staff. I botched the online booking and they pulled one out of the hat to accommodate us. Our server Abdul made sure we were well taken care of.

We're having a few issues in the kitchen and short staffed at the time of visit, great customer service more than made up for it though
E. G.
Absolutely lovely- from the host managing the queue right through to the bill we were well looked after, well watered and well fed.
Our server was an absolute pleasure; joking along with us, striking exactly the right tone and making us feel welcome and appreciated. Rarely do you find such genuinely warm and knowledgable service that’s relaxing and not at all overbearing. Hold onto him!
The Sunday menu is simple but well executed- all my companions were delighted with their chicken dishes and the cauliflower cheese was perfect (elsewhere they’re so frequently overcooked smush). I’ve only put four stars because the veggie roast left a little to be desired (come on it’s 2020, dry and dusty nut roasts are well and truly over); but absolutely everything else was lovely, especially the Camembert-baked-inside-sourdough starter.
All in all I’d say many thanks for a bloody lovely afternoon (turned evening), we shall certainly return for another poke at the wine menu as we certainly didn’t do it justice!

Hosted a work event there. It was a pleasure to work with them. Great venue, great food and fantastic service from a lovely team. 70 happy customers says it all! 🙂

A mixed bag.
Ate here a few weeks ago in the evening. It’s undeniably a very picturesque pub, located right next to Hampstead Heath, with a spacious outdoor area. And the food (once it arrived) was good enough.
However, some significant negatives too. The price of drinks is hefty, even for London prices: we’re talking over £6 for some bang-average IPA. And when we went, there were only two options for draft ale, neither of which were inspiring (Doombar and Timothy Taylor, both of which were far more expensive than they should be).
But the biggest negative: the online booking. Everything is ordered by scanning QR codes; and while our drinks arrived promptly, we were sat waiting for an hour and fifteen minutes with no food before one of us finally went up to ask what was going on. Turns out, our food order had completely disappeared from their system; and although they got onto it within 15 mins, that’s 90 minutes with no food at all. That’s the issue with this kind of online service: there’s minimal interaction with waiters, so you just end up sat there like an idiot waiting for food that never comes.
Overall, a pretty bad eating experience. I would give two stars, but they rescued this up to three by offering us a free round of drinks to apologise for the wait.
M. L.
Great meal, better to book in advance for weekends. Friendly staff. Will come back
P. M.
Dog friendly, good outside space, great selection of food and drink, and hilarious staff to boot! A diamond in a field of zircons.

I’ve just been in for a spot of late lunch, and it was a great experience. The food was good quality, it came out quickly, but the service provided by Daisy and Maria deserves a special mention. They were friendly and engaging, really efficient, and nothing was too much trouble. A refreshing change from the usual moribund service that’s often the norm across the capital. To top it off, I got 50% off the bill as part of the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme. I’ll be back.

Food and service was great, highly recommended!

Great lunch! Went for a nice walk around Hampstead Heath then into town for some lunch and this place was lovely. The beer selection was great, had a nice pint of Camden Hells then had the steak and ale pie which was so filling. Covid wise, everything is in place that needs to be in place such as track and track, distanced tables and table service, so it feels safe too which is fab. Lunch for 2 with 2 drinks and a shared dessert came to around £50, so well priced too. Would definitely go back again and recommend to anyone.

Excellent pub. Great service from Shaheed

Callum was a fantastic bartender and the beer is great!

Great atmosphere, could've been better with some outdoor space heaters. Very few vegetarian options. It was difficult to other using their website. Will come back for a pint when the weather is better.
