Reviews of The Globe Tavern
Nice pub with good choice of beers on draft right in the heart of Borough market.
Friendly atmosphere and good location for an extended drinking session with a few friends before Xmas.
Visited on a Sunday lunchtime ostensibly for a drink, bit had a sausage roll to share: delicious and very moorish. Interesting Greek wine and superb hot chocolate. Very attentive and friendly servers.
Good ale, friendly helpful staff not much seating though
Great little spot in the heart of Borough Market. Was unexplainably quiet when we went. We pitched ourselves up in window seats, watched the world go but whilst enjoying a few drinks. Great selection of ales and beers on tap, lots of local drops. Lovely victorian vibes inside. Will stop in again when passing through
I loved this place.
Originally, I had stopped in just to see if they did "takeaway" beers like so many other places (this one didn't - but it was absolutely not a problem)
The guy who served me a couple beers was exceptionally helpful. There was lots of good conversation about differences between the US and Europe, places to go, things to do. (I ended up taking a recommendation to check out the bar up top the Shard - it was spot on as well)
Nice small pub feel. Awesome beer. A pretty cool location that feels like "old" London. I'm gonna be back next week or two for sure.
Excellent selection of drinks however the serving staff could be more friendly and helpful. That said the security staff went over and above to help
Great little place, very popular and great service! Only thing I felt let it down ever so slightly is the toilet. Female toilet smelt badly of wee, very old, and toilet paper on top or holder looked like it has been wet and dried out. Overall nice experience just the toilets x Cant knock the service never had to wait to be served. Xx
Lovely pub, multiple rooms, good choice of drinks and meals
Traditional London boozer in the heart of Borough market. Good selection of beers at City prices, friendly staff, quick service. Pre pandemic it's usually packed with tourists (daytime) and office types (evenings). So now's a good time to give it a try.
Fantastic food before the play. Very enjoyable experience.
Wkd place, not been here for a few yrs, hasn't changed and why should it! Nice views along the water front need I say anymore? 🤷🏽♂️😉👍🏽👊🏽
Oh yes friendly staff and good service 👍🏽👌🏽😀👏🏽
Nice pub. Ideal location for a few beers before the darts
Nice pub. Easy to get served. Friendly crowd. Sort of place Bridget Jones might go
The barman was really friendly and recommended a nice drink for my wife. Decent selection of beers on draft. Good place for for a drink if visiting Borough Market.
Not too expensive, clean and pleasant bar.
Love Borough Market and this is a nice stop point for that perfect pint
Great Sunday roasts! Meat was pink and juicy, gravy was excellent
Popped in for a quiet lunchtime pint on my own, whilst passing through Borough Market. Friendly welcome, reassuring COVID-19 compliant measures in place, cracking pint of Guinness. I'll be back with friends once normality returns. What a lovely find.
I love this pub. I always pop in if I’m passing.
The Black/Mixed race lady working today was so friendly. I myself work in a pub in London and think it’s always nice to get positive reviews.....so here’s mine.
Great drinks selection, friendly staff and incredibly good prices for this part of town.
Lovely sitting by the Thames. Great to be out. Just watching people stroll by. Staff were very friendly but Covid Covid conscious. Very relaxed would recommend families and just friends meet
Good beer great atmosphere ,buzzing outside and loads to eat of the surrounding stalls 😋🍻
Great service. Good ales and beers. Busy but the staff were always attentive
Great place in borough market to go for a pint, pints are good, staff were a bit slow, but it's a nice place to chill out.
Lovely little pub to grab a quick drink. Even on a busy day we just managed to get a seat. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Some good beers on offer on the tap. Definitely would return if in the area.
Good after work drinks venue - the trivia is that Bridget Jones lived above this pub! Love going here but the service is more than likely overwhelmed due to popularity!
One to add to the list of a borough market pub crawl.
This place is brilliant! Cosy and magnificent staff! :) My colleagues and I had such a great time last night. We are new in the area and I think we just found our favourite place! Plus, I left my phone in the pub and I received an email from them straightway, a thousand thanks! :D
This pub has had a major make over since I last visited. Very nicely done inside. Plenty of seating at bar stools but not so many tables. Not quite enough real ale options for my liking but there are 5 good choices and all a little unusual which I like.
Great pub to visit, only down side is occasionally they run out of draught beers so better stock control needed. Also last time I visited they forgot to turn the coolers back on after line cleaning, however they rectified the situation. The staff are all very friendly
We come here every time we come to London. Great bar with friendly staff. We'll worth a visit.
The pub is friendly, but the restaurant upstairs is quite a find. While the price of mains are on the expensive side, and portions not huge, the quality of the food and flavours are stunning. The service is good, and all food is locally sourced with an open kitchen to watch food prep if you're into that thing. On the first floor also makes it a nice location above the noisy street level. Pricey but excellent food!
Not bad for a cheap round of drinks. Waited a while to get served but not a massive issue as was quite busy.
Very busy pub in an extremely busy location. I was disappointed that four beers were off during my visit, so I was left with boring lager to drink. Apart from that, it's a nice venue for a quick drink in Borough Market.
Closed due to Covid lockdown but a nice pub in Borough Market. Great place to meet friends and people watch. Located just inside the market.
This place is huge....but very unusual split level layout with hardly any space or seats - so whilst its large its uncomfortable. Otherwise lovely place to grab a drink. It really does have a London vibe, so if you're visiting the city its worth a visit to.soak up the vibes.
Very friendly lively place. Would defo go there again
Massive outdoor beer garden, easy to get in and very friendly staff. One of my favourite pubs for many years
Friendly
Great atmosphere
Good ale
Lovely pint of London pride staff very good
What can I say. I was in here for my leaving do. The landlord (who I discovered was a Gloucester fan) was incredible. Sorted out an area for us, bought us a round and took the ladies for the Brigite Jones tour....yes that is the door.....
I can't speak highly enough of this place. Great staff, great service, great ales.
If your visiting borough market then this place is a must.
Atmospheric little Pub right in the heart of Borough Market with a great selection of Lagers and Ales
I give it four stars because I'm trying to be neutral. Actually, the complete gutting of it in 2016 really spoiled it. I'm surprised that some of it (such as removal of etched glass) was allowed. What's more, it is now really expensive, probably the most expensive beer in the Borough Market area. All that said, if you don't know what you're missing and are prepared to pay through the nose, it has a nice atmosphere and a fairly good selection of beers, so you'll probably like it.
Popped in today with family on the hunt for a Sunday roast and we were overjoyed to find that we had stumbled across an absolute gem of an eatery.
Fabulous staff, wonderful atmosphere and high end high quality market fresh food at the same price (or less) as a bog standard pub lunch. Veggie option was divine.
Intimate, friendly, efficient, delicious - top points all round.
Enjoyed a fabulous meal here Saturday lunchtime after a stroll around the market.
The restaurant has a relaxing and friendly atmosphere with a great team of staff on hand to offer recommendations from the fine selection of wines, (all of which are available by the glass) and a menu that has options for all tastes.
head chef Luke visited are table and demonstrated tremendous passion for his work and the menu he had put together.
We had an interesting and very delicious amuse-bouche, followed by starters and main courses. All flavours were exceptional and paired with beautiful wines.
I will endeavour to visit the globe again and would recommend it to everyone.
5 star.
One of the oldest bars in London Bridge area. Close to London Bridge Underground tube station connected by Jubilee and northern tube network. This is situated within famous and oldest farmer's market known as Borough Market. It has this old charm wooden interior, very crowded on Thursdays and Fridays. You will see lot of people standing outside enjoying their favourite brews.
A standard British pub in the heart of Borough Market. Nice quiet and cosy, but that is pretty much it. A good place to get a drink if you're looking for something that is not as packed as neighboring pubs, however they've got a great space and location that I think is under utilised.
Decent pub that's recently been through a long refurbishment. Unique location in the market underneath and between the train lines running either side of it. Mostly standard beer on draught with a couple of exceptions but the bottled beer is more interesting.
Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere!
Only one barman, when it was busy. But generally good place
What a great find !!, went with friends to Borough Market and had drinks and a rather fab lunch. An innovative menu, not too big so as to leave you bamboozled, well structured and varied. the Chef Luke, was on hand to steer the less well versed of us around the menu, the rest of the team were also equally well clued up and helpfull. Loved the Viognier with my pork belly. Look forward to another trip to our fab city and lunch here again.
The Globe is a good traditional type pub with nice bare basics wooden paneling and floors but is a bit rough around the edges. They had all the standards on tap but nothing too exciting - and no craft beer. It's fine but nothing special, and I was told to avoid the loos if possible.
Brown bread ,nan is very teasty
Londoners should all know this boozer. Nothing really special but also somehow very important. Just go.
Great location, wide variety of beer and quick service
Good pub and good atmosphere
The only pub in Borough Market where you won't get ripped off. The prices for drinks are very reasonable compared to the other pubs in the area. Famous for being the pub where Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) lived above in the Bridget Jones films.
Cool spot, way too crowded and had to stand outside. There is no outdoor seating. Learned while standing there that Bridget Jones diary was filmed there, pretty cool fact.
The pub is in a lovely location centrally inside the market, although I only stayed for a quick pint it just felt as though it was happy to be a place for tourists to get a drink rather than being a proper pub.
Stopped here for an impromptu dinner even though really I've wanted to try this place (Bridget Jones' old apartment) since I saw pics of its dishes from their soft opening! I'd say the veggie starters of crispy hen egg in lovage soup was very punchy! The other veggie starter of grapefruit and asparagus was very fresh and seasonal! The mains is where the review changes... The calamari dish which was part tempura and part stuffed with brown shrimps with shavings of fennel was very highly rated. The veggie main however of new potatoes, zucchini and a garlicky sauce was tasty but completely uninspired! What really saved it was the triple cooked chips which is the best we have ever had! The aioli is super garlicky though! We ended up sharing the chocolate pudding which was actually perfectly portioned for sharing as we were pretty stuffed by then!
Enjoyed an afternoon beer or 2 here
If you’re a Bridget Jones fan, you’ll want to stop in! You can really picture the movie set. Also, the beer selection is really quite good!
Nice pub in Borough market. Really well controlled with social distancing. Service fast and efficient.
Poped in for a quick pint. Very friendly staff
Nice pub with a good range of beers
One of the OK pubs in Central London except that there aren't any crisps.
I’ve been coming here on and off for years. Great prices, lovely staff and a great atmosphere.
There’s only one ladies toilet as far as I know though.
Nice warm feeling pub with a great choice of drinks, visited whilst on a lads day out and everyone I was with agreed to stay for a few extra drinks here.
Good boozer. Great service (for a central London pub). Decent selection of craft beers too. Didn't order any food.
Newly renovated, good beer but toilets worst I've ever seen in a pub and no soap ever. Avoid on Thurs and Friday due to local suits filling it up pre train journey.
Went here for a few drinks, sat outside which was pleasant and managed to escape the rain as it's covered for the most part.
Great bar staff & spot for a drink after lunch
Bit cold on a cold day, but you know what? This is actually a decent, friendly place for a pint if you're at Borough Market, and given the crowds, that is no mean feat.
Always enjoy popping in here. Staff always friendly and a good vibe.
Literally amazing, the prices for where it is. Perfect service with an extra touch. Plus my fat friend got attention there, anyone can get laid.
Good staff, decent prices for Borough Market, bit low on seating, could use a few more beers on tap.
A delightful pub in a wonderful setting. Great staff and great beer. A welcoming atmosphere, a place to visit.
Best pub in borough
Good old london pub great service didn't have to wait drinks nice & cold didn't stay to eat didn't have the time but it looked really nice food.
Good pub. Friendly staff. Used to be a really buzzing atmosphere. Covid is killing industry
Nothing wrong with the location or the drinks. Staff where slightly clueless and, as others have mentioned, toilets (both ladies and gents as my other half informed me) where an absolute disgrace.
Nice outside drinking area, decent beer choice. Prices are a bit better than other pubs in the market.
fun and interesting to learn about the history of the globe. go with a friend and best if your interested in Shakespeare. you can dress up, be given a demonstration on the printing of the books and scripts- very interesting.
Really nice place, atmosphere and sevice. The pork to share was awesome and the IPA was one of the best I've tried in London.
Great location as its just in Borough Market. Staff is fine however the toilets are not so clean.
Very reasonably priced beers and a great selection too.
As for location, it's perfectly situated in the heart of Borough Market.
Nice pub on the outskirts of Borough Market.
Need price lists. How can 2 beers and a bottle of wine come to £44.50! If I had seen the wine list I would.never have had the bottle of wine.
Love this little pub in the middle of the market, very friendly staff and lots of tourist from the market gets a drink from there.
On my pub crawl list. Central London.
An ever growing list. Good pub with a fine atmosphere likable staff and good beers.
Nice looking bar... just had a pint, but the food looked good as the waiter passed our table.
Friendly staff, very good selection of beer and spirits and the best service in borough market.
The food at the restaurant is pretty good, but the prices are not as nice. Around 20 pounds for a main with small portion sizes. Nice atmosphere and staff though
We had a lovely afternoon in the sunshine with a bottle of pink procesco.
Nice bar tucked into borough market . Friendly welcoming staff, a good selection and a view of the market what else do you need?
Nice pub just inside Borough Market. The staff are friendly and they have a good selection of beers.
First class service, very friendly staff well worth a visit 👍
Very nice inside and great surroundings. Biggest disappointment is the draft cider bit made up for by a decent beer selection.
An awesome pub at borough market near London bridge. Great for friday evenings
great pub
Great pub in borough market, with a good selection of drinks to wet your whistle.. great atmosphere.
What a great find !!, went with friends to Borough Market and had drinks and a rather fab lunch. An innovative menu, not too big so as to leave you bamboozled, well structured and varied. the Chef Luke, was on hand to steer the less well …
Pleasant pub. Friendly staff. Quality real ales. Like most pubs through, the company is what counts
Loved it. Nice cozy place nearer to London bridge station or Borough market.
Great spot, nice bartenders and well priced pints, can't argue with that combo.
Love this little pub in the middle of the market, very friendly staff and lots of tourist from the market gets a drink from there.
Brilliant location; London Bridge, the Shard and Borough Market are all within a 2 minute walk
Went during a busy Thursday night. Nice selection, nice beers too! Whheeeeyyyyy
Pleasant pub. Friendly staff. Quality real ales. Like most pubs through, the company is what counts
Very busy pub and the centre of the Market worth it if you can see the bar.
Nice pub
Very good beer, not to bad food. I recommend chocolate beer 👍
Touristy and busy pub inside borough market. Not the most comfortable place but has a lively buzz.
Nice old pub. Often busy. Beer well kept.
great pub, great atmosphere, friendly staff, nice selection of beers.
Nice pub, a little bit dark, half decent selection of beers
Superb, we had live MUSIC. Great spot for a good leasure time
Cute pub in the heart of the market, bit pricy tho but I guess that's expected.
Decent food, although trending towards the artistically presented and highly-priced end of the spectrum with less substance than I'd expect for the price.
Very expensive for drinks, but if you have a ticket for the Globe abd you sit outside on the terrace you get first entry 😉
Great place for food
Nice pub nice staff good pub to stop at while shopping around borough market
Loved it. Nice cozy place nearer to London bridge station or Borough market.
Enjoyed a couple of pints here.
It's an ok pub. With a good beer selection. Some of the mad hatter beers from Liverpool
Old style London pub - Bridget Jones filmed here - good food and drink
Great pub, best in Borough Market
Place pours a great pint of Guinness great atmosphere and interior as well as being cheap for that part of London
All good , old pub
Good price for a pub in the middle of the market and the staff is friendly.
Great food ..Great Staff..cold beer.. .sports perfect !!
Welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed our time here
Amazing staff, and the best place for drinks in borough market
Friendly staff, good drinks selections, food was average. Crisps were expensive.
Busy in bourgh market, the larger was not good but the Guinness tasted nice
Nice place for meeting and chatting with friends over your favourite tipple. Not the cheapest prices in the area.
Good beers and friendly stuff, right I the corner of Borough Market.
Friendly enough place, OK for a quick drink, there are better places in the area.,
Very busy pub on the river. Staff and beer are great but it gets very noisy past 6pm!
An awesome pub at borough market near London bridge. Great for friday evenings
Good range of beers. Well located for a meeting spot.
Improved and brought up to date with a recent refurb, now looking pretty good though still busy.
Good place for food and drinks in London bridge 😁
Lots of staff on didn't have to wait to be served but watched three members of staff walk over / kick a napkin on floor without moving hubby moved it on the end .
Great pub. Also known as the Bridget Jones house.
Proper pub, decent beers, good atmosphere.
My Nanny Ruby was born here in 1925, my great grandparents ran it then. 😊😊
Great beer selection, atmosphere and friendly service.
Nice pub to go for a beer while you are shoping in the Market...
Nice little pub, great for a quick pint in the area
Proper pub nice staff. Good location in market
Decent Beer - shame no food offer - especially with the market so close
Arguably one of the best restaurants in London, and I never write reviews.
Proper UK pub
Tiny little pub in Borough market. Bridget Jones was filmed here (Bridget's flat was situated above the pub).
We popped in on a busy Saturday. The staff were really friendly.
Cheap beer by central London standards but not a great selection of real ales on the night I was there
Nice pub with small collection of real ales.
Very friendly and professional staff and good food
Nice spot for a drink in the Market not too foodie!
An excellent establishment, with an array of quality booze.
A bit touristy...but ok . Food portions small and beer expensive..
Great selection of beers and a cosy interior.
I love the Globe ..good memories and always nice music!
Quality pub for a good drink up
Very friendly, good service
Right amongst the market. Can get a bit busy, but otherwise good spot for a drink.
Great beer. Maybe a little loud inside
Good drinks, disappointing food.
great pub
Lovely inside, it's like entering a old cave
Surrounded by the street food market, perfect if your a foodie.

(Translated) Typical English pub. A must if you pass the Borough Market. Unfortunately, if you want to be outside drinking, they serve you in plastic cups, the girl who served us was, I hope, in her day NO. So a little grumpy and not very pretty.
Anyway, I'll go back to see if you can raise the stars 😊

Tipico pub inglese.
