Some things are ridiculously overpriced on their menu. Paid £11.50 for red red - black eyed beans stew and its half way in container.
The food was nice enough.
3 stars because of the wait time and customer service. The female staff member, gave us a 25 min wait time; in reality it was 45 mins, no apology or anything.

My guess is as soon as word spreads worldwide about The Gold Coast Bar & Restaurant, bookings will be at a premium so treat yourself as soon as possible to this amazing and fun entertainment experience...
The menu is extraordinary and the food we had was like we've never had before...
We hope we will be able to visit again one day... The Gold Coast Bar & Restaurant was amazing!!

Food was OK just one we ordered , we didn't have to wait too long! I loved the 🎶 downstairs and for that alone am going back to dance till 1pm...lol that's if there is not another lock down.

Great Ghanaian food. Love the waakye with Nyoma choma

Lovely music 🎶 makes you sing along and dance your heart out🤭👩🎤🧑🎤🕺💃👌 🔥🙌👏🤌

Good was lovely and tasted fresh ,well cooked and nicely spiced. I had yam balls and chefs special chicken, others on my table had tilapia and fried yam and banku. Took more than 30mins to arrive but was informed when ordering. Lovely music on Friday and not too crowded.

Could do with a total refurbishment. Especially the bar and toilet just to hype the place up. It'll also make it appealing for people to visit often. Aside that, food is delicious
S. S.
Very friendly, clean and the food came out quick. The prices are very reasonable!

The oldest Ghanaian pub/restaurant in London. They serve pretty much all major Ghanaian dishes and drinks at very high quality. The waiters are very respectful and professional. Before covid, they held some live bands and invited Djs to entertain customers. There is a VIP section. Customers can either walk in or reserve a table for events. Parking can get tough at times as you need to find space to park in the neighbourhood. There are now some bays reserved for electric cars.

Visited here with family and travelled from West London. Really glad we went food was amazing. My only issues is I personally think price is slightly too high but food is good quality and flavour, so maybe justified? And the inside seemed dark all round. But overall really enjoyed and will be visiting again

Great atmosphere and friendly people. We had a really good time and food was good.
C. M.
Great tasting food, however, the management need to decide whether plastic utensils are really the way to go.

Probably the best West African food in South London.
M. O.
Organisation can be a little off sometimes. But the food on offer is fantastic.

Delicious African cuisine (Especially Ghanaian)serve here

Lovely place to be the food was fantastic. Oh my God the kebab of the stick was fresh and nice. We had Tilapia fish and rice cooked with black eye beans.

Superb customer service, delicious food and cocktails, and amazing atmosphere. I had an amazing night at The Gold Coast and i wish i could give more than 5 stars!

African Pub with dj and authentic west African cuisine

It was the last Wednesday of the august post covid discount....3 of us paid £22 and could not finish the exquisite authentic PROPER Ghanaian cuisine. Atmosphere excellent... social distancing adhered to and the welcome great despite being inundated with patrons... ok.. food b took a while to get there but with the happy faces, food priced drinks and afro beats on in the background the time soon passed.... and many will be back to willingly pay full price.... I'll be going back within the month. Wholly recommended 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽❤

Stunning food, great ambience, had the grilled chicken. however management needs to have more than one front of house staff. The gentleman was polite & hardworking despite having to juggle multiple roles: waiter, bartender, customer service, it was fairly busy, I had to ask him if he was the chef as well 😀. Also plastic plates & utensils is not a good look. I came for a dinning experience,

Quite disappointed today. The food was not at it's usual standard. Took forever to come out and it tasted bland. Live music was more of a headache than entertainment.
M. D.
Tasty kebabs, Gold Coast special. You will love the fried yams
I. S.
Was brilliant and I loved every minute of my time there. There was live band.
T. C.
They even played old time dancehall for a bit lol good food too

The wait for food is long (about half an hour) but their food is fresh. The takeaway portion ratios are a bit off, considering you get a whole container full of stew but a much smaller portion of jollof rice. Other than that, all good, nice staff, tasty food., good environment and music.

Food quality has dived but the kitchen is still mega-busy at weekends and hardly a free seat in the house on Sunday evenings when there is a live band playing. Fridays and Saturdays attract a young sports-mad crowd but there is a healthy sprinkling of mature patrons to create some balance. The later it gets, the noisier and wilder it becomes, as TV or cable sports programmes are regularly aired. A small area on the corner of the stage is designated VIP, but you could be fooled. Sundays tend to be a bit more sedate and quieter. Families are welcome and tables are frequently taken up by large groups. There are gazebos in the garden, great in the summer, and discreet upstairs dining usually hired for birthday parties. Worth a visit, it’s a great local pub without the pub feel. Visited with teen plus one.

Came here for dinner with my partner on saturday. We ordered jollof rice with fish and I had chicken with rice and salad. I nearly bit my fingers off! Was so tasty! The waitress was very friendly and made us feel at home. She paid me lots of compliments which really made me feel good as I had had a terrible afternoon. The prices were very reasonable. I left a generous tip. Wasn't very packed though.. Wish there was more people.. Could have had a better atmosphere.

Nice place to get good African/Wrest African food. Downstairs comes alive as a club in the evenings on weekends and you are likely to find great Ghanaian and Nigerian company there any day. For some peace and quiet just climb upstairs. The efficient staff catered nicely to us and were quite attentive. Surprisingly the loud music downstairs did not filter up at all and we enjoyed our conversations in peace.

I recommend the deep fried yam and all that it could come with. Everything was good and delicious.

Very good food but they are expensive

We were here with the extended family last Saturday, let me start with the music; great African beats! The food we ordered, rice, fish and lamb, was very tasty and valet friendly. We will be back!

Usually a good night out. Disappointed about the standard of some of the food e.g. Fish used to be great all the time now is Hit and miss. Brilliant bar staff but lazy bar managers. It's time they looked into a consultation of roles as some of the staff would be very capable of managerial jobs.
M. E.
A girls evening out and my first time.....a treat from my Ghanian friend. You waited long for your food but I did enjoy the tilapia and fried yam, it was quite tasty and the black pepper sauce was tastey not too peppery. Disappointed that there was no Ghanian music and no paper was in the toilets for drying hands, we should have said something to the staff so for that we are very sorry, they were extremely busy. The ambience and mood was set for dancing, even if we were only chair dancing😂 Lots of raggae and a fair amount of disco misic👍🏻👏🏽 We intend to go back for the life band. Overall us girls had a lovely relaxing Sunday evening.👍🏻👍🏻😂😂

Lovely soups and more. Plus the Guinness is well stored.

The Gold Coast Bar & Restaurant is the ideal chill-out weekend spot if you are looking to find an ldeal place to go on a first date or just relax with your partner in chill out mode. Nice friendly ambiance is amplified by music which is played by an in-house DJ from 10 pm onwards. There is also a sumptuous and tasty selection of grilled chicken/beef/fish to go with the drinks should you end up being peckish after a few rounds.

Very nice food Nice little bar?👌☝️👌

The venue was very lively in the evening arrived at 12pm, it closes at 2pm on a Saturday!! Be prepared to get hot, as although there is air con it was not effective/not on, in my opinion.
They also serve food earlier in the evening and snacks throughout the night, which was very nice and tasty, I had the spicy chicken pieces, abit larger than an appetiser.
The music is generally African music with some Caribbean Soca and also afro beats, there was more than one DJ so other generic music could have been played before I arrived.
Free entry and good security. polite. would recommend this place as feels authentic and good vibes. rated 3 due to no air con and tables still being set up so very small dance floor when you want to get up and shake a leg.
T. D.
Good atmosphere and lovely service. Food is okay. Try ordering in advance before you arrive if you have booked a table. Smart way to avoid delay of your food.
M.
I had always loved Gold coast. Great music on Friday and Saturday, good Ghanian dishes however the meals take quite a while to arrive. I celebrated my birthday here and was dissapointed. The manager was rude to my irish sister in law even though she was the one arranging the party. I have always wondered why.
R. S.
We stopped here for some food. Had the chef special which was hot and spicy chargrilled chicken with fried plantain. It was delicious! I love African cuisine and I found this was a very good local place to get this. The downside is the decoration: is quite grim and empty, very dark space. They could do with some better lighting and some bright colours. I think the space Sant wasted and it could be made into a really nice place for the locals to visit. We also found the beer choice was lacking, although it was nice that they had a choice of 2 ghanean beers. I would recommend this place for the food.
B. V.
Excellent Ghanaian food. Try the akonfem, red red, jollof and snapper fish. All very tasty.
A bit scruffy around the edges, but the food more than makes up for it.
Poor disabled access, with several steep steps.
No accessible toilets.
I would recommend caution for LGBT people, as anti queer sentiments are common in West Africa (although I have not experienced any here myself)
C. O.
I was there on Sunday night. The live band playing Africa true highlife was way out of this world. The best place to chill with live music whilst enjoying yourself with all sort of drinks and local delicacies
J. L.
Good food, actually really enjoyed it. Slow service though as there was only 1 person serving, at the tills and doing everything else.
P. N. M.
The food was very nice but the portions smaller than usual, don't know because it was a takeaway service. The timings of bringing in the food could be improved. Thanks
T. P.
The jellof here is fireee. Love it. Very flavoursome. My favourite in the area at the moment. Jellof and the grilled turkey. Beautiful combo!
N.
The chef's special chicken is off the hook! If you like spicy food and a nice atmosphere, this is the place for you. They sometimes have open mic evenings!
J.
Delicious African food, amazing portions!
Decoration and ambience could do with updating, lighting wasn't good in restaurant upstairs but the food and customer service was great!
My first time eating at an African restaurant, I will return!

A very popular destination for Ghanaian and afrocentric people to meet. A good representative of night life in the capital of Ghana, Accra, Gold Coast grants it's patrons a glimpse of the food, music and atmosphere of the loving African people. A great place to relax and enjoy the company of others as well as a great date destination especially on Sundays. All are welcome there.
P. Q.
Was shocked to pay £35 for a round of drinks at the bar. Two beers a double baileys and 6 cokes. But the meal was really good and good value. £90 did 4 adults and 4 kids with some leftovers to take home incl drinks with the meal. So just watch what you order at the bar. I should of known. You'll pay 3x the price for a 1l bottle of Alomo here than you pay on Croydon High street
S. B.
Every Friday night they have karaoke night which is funny to watch. Wide range of alcoholic options and nigerian alcoholic drinks. The food is nice depending on what you order
C. B.
My birthday celebration was epic at Gold Coast. We had a buffet choice menu, food was tasty, presented excellently and the service was spectacular. We will definitely recommend You DINE at the Gold Coast.
D. S.
The atmosphere was really nice good vibes all the way.
The food was to die for I had chicken with fried yams the flavours were amazing.
Y. F.
The Sunday highlife live bands are always very good. The Accra seduction cocktail is lethal but juicy and tastes very nice.
J. E.
Never tried African food before. Very spicy but delicious. Very loud music but fun atmosphere.
C. B.
Food was delish! It was a long wait for food & I had to ask staff where it was. They were very apologetic & it came shortly afterwards. All I can say it was worth the wait! Absolutely delish! Ordered jellof rice, chefs special (mild) & kellewellie! Thoroughly enjoyed!! Thank you!!!

Best African place to go in all London
D. E.
First time visiting this venue the food ordered was freshly prepared and the portions were adequate for a quick staff lunch. The staff were really nice and accommodating.
F. M.
Pure Ghanaian restaurant and dance bar. It can be overcrowded towards the latter part of the night. The atmosphere is like an endless exciting party. A place to experience a typical Ghana party.
k. a.
Amazing Ghanaian food! Love the choffi and fried yam. Chef’s special is great too and the waakye is to die for... Love Goldcoast Bar and Grill!!😍😍😍
J. A.
Great food and good weekend music entertainment. Only setback is bar stops serving drinks by 1am on a Friday. I believe an hour longer on Saturday.
a. A.
It was a very good experierce but I strongly feel that £10 was to much to pay for entry as food and drink is most likely to be bought there i feel like £5 should have been charged and also i was not really aware that i would have to pay at the door so advertising could have been strongly improved to make people aware of the fact they have to pay.
C. C.
Small inside but a very warm and lovely place, food there is cooked to a high standard. Definitely a must for people who love to eat Ghanaian food.
T. H.
Taste of home for all Ghanaians! Has a Ghana feel to the layout food is very authentic. A must do for Ghana jallof.
M. R.
Great food is over in the children relaxed environment. The waiters were friendly and always comes highly recommended.
C. H.
The only place to be when Ghana are playing international football. African beers imported from Nigeria, and the spicy chicken is HOT! Recommend the yam balls.
Decor needs a bit of TLC.

One of the best Afro Caribbean cuisine places in LondonGreat experience. Excellent customer service, food was good and the music amazing !
M. M.
Cool vibes, been going for a while, until you go to the bar. It seems like they serve regulars first. Weirdly enough, it's everytime I go, especially when it's a man... Maybe it's because I'm from the Caribbean... Not sure... Just saying.
S. F.
Good vibe and nice food. I would not suggest getting a takeaway because the standard of food is never the same for some reason
J. H.
It was nice. Very crowded. So many different types of people. All beautiful! All happy! Food took too long though and was too tough
R. B.
Came here looking for an old friend and couldn't see him in his usual seat. If you see Mel tell him FA was looking for him! A popular african bar, decent staff, restaurant upstairs and great atmopshere for sporting events.
s. S.
Nice place to go if you like afro beats they do play a mixture of music but mainly afo beats and it gets packed on a Friday and Saturday night you can also buy food there which taste good too I recommend there spicy chicken bites.
C. C.
If you love fine music especially afrobeats then this for you
k. d. s.
Must go, if you want the Ghanaian vibe
R. A.
Good life music on Sundays. Can be too packed at times. Good selection of Ghanaian foods and drinks on the menu.
P. O.
It is an okay restaurant. Designed mainly for Africans who are not exactly particular on quality of service but ideal enough to impress the inquisitive ones on what it is like in African restaurant.
J.
Nice place to go Friday and Saturday evenings for a mix of African and old school music.
Sunday is the live band day but a bit too loud for me.
S. D.
Very relaxing decor. Quiet during the day but this meant that a good conversation could take place without having to compete with a noisy atomosphere. Enjoyable overall.
B. Z.
Nice food, the snapper was a little over fried but still nice .lovely atmosphere and busy.
R. A.
I enjoyed the Wadjye and chofi but my friend complained about the soup that comes with the fufu, enjoy the life band afterward. Amazing atmosphere and price is very reasonable.
B. M.
Great Ghanaian experience in London. The food and loud music reminded me of my best days in Accra!❤❤
M. R.
Delicious food, reasonably priced, relaxed atmosphere. Will be back! The dining room could do with a lick of paint though.
T. S.
I have been there 4 times and each time has been great. Great live band and food
M. E. O.
Nice environment, excellent food, good music. Love the place can't wait to go back.
E. N.
It's a good place for afro beat. It's very packed on Saturdays. Food is good. Djs not all the time.
