Reviews of The Grafton Arms Pub & Rooms
C. C.
Standard king room. Swift check in. Lovely luxury room with thoughtful items in mini bar and next to coffee pod machine. Comfy bed with high quality linen. Complementary Netflix etc makes for a very comfy stay.
K. H.
You could easily walk past this pub but it's well worth a visit. We'll presented and cosy pub restaurant with a good range of drinks including well kept cask beers. Also seems popular for food. Added bonus of a pleasant roof terrace which is covered with heaters and so can be used all year round. Staff seemed friendly and fast service. Not sure what the bedrooms are like but if it's reflective of the rest of the pub then will be done to a high standard.
G. R.
Excellent stay. Friendly and accommodative staff. Very warm and cosy feeling the whole time. Clean rooms that are very unique with larger than average showers for London. The pub downstairs has excellent food as a bonus as well. Will be returning.
D. E.
A nice selection of ales. Thai food menu which is delicious. It has an outdoor roof terrace which is pleasant and the staff were nice. Weekends are quiet which is how I like it. Week days can be crowded with people after work.
D. F.
Very good food and a great selection of drinks, including at least ten beers on tap. We enjoyed the chilli salt squid and pork belly small plates, followed by lamb rendang and chicken katsu as main dishes. All reasonably priced and delivered with very friendly service.
D. B. P. F.
Absolutely wonderful care and service from the team at the Grafton Arms. We could not recommend them highly enough. The hotel and rooms are lovely too.
Just excellent

Beautiful rooms, very clean & the bed was very comfy. The only downside is that they don't offer breakfast but other than that it was perfect! Would definitely recommend.
M.
Went once for Christmas dinner and it was decent. Tried to book again this year and no one got back to me. Shame. Try to support a dying industry. Ended up booking elsewhere.
J. W.
Excellent room, great food and very friendly, helpful staff. The bed was really comfortable and I honestly had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a very long while. The beer selection is varied and they even had, to my delight, German wheat beer. I highly recommend the Thai green curry as it was truly remarkable. If you want a table for dinner, make sure to reserve one as soon as you can as it’s a popular place and fills up very quickly.
C. J.
Nicest bartender ever, we really love him and we love the espresso martini and also another drink I hard but can't remember the name. Such a good pub.
Tara
Top blokes, would recommend

DUMPLINGS!!!!!
Came here on a Monday afternoon with friends. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the rooftop terrace is soooo lovely. If you can get a seat up there that's the best. We drank a lot of wine and ate a lot of dumplings! The sharer platters of dumplings and spring rolls were amazing. Very nice pub. Definitely coming back.
K. B.
Lovely pub with a cosy roof top terrace! 10% off for Students and NHS is a bonus
D.
Nice little pub. Friendly staff and they also have a couple of tables with heaters at the front.
D. B.
I attended an after baptism dinner and they were extremely polite, courteous and generous with the food. Highly recommended
P. B.
The room was very beautiful and clean, with everything we needed. The staff was very helpful and the owner was very friendly and nice. The bad was heaven, we slept so well. It was perfect. Totally worth the money.
S. M.
Had a great Sunday roast today beef and chicken lovely roast potatoes beef very tender. Cooked by the manager Dave himself. Great local friendly pub. Try yourself 5 minutes walk from Westminster abbey.
E. M.
We arrived early for our booking and the table wasn’t ready yet. They politely offered us a complimentary drink while they made our table ready. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, we had great food and the roof terrace is spectacular. I highly recommend The Grafton Arms!
K. B.
Beer great, friendly very helpful staff competitively priced for the area.
B. S.
Very wet when we went, and due to Covid restrictions we had to sit outside. But the pub has a large covered outdoor terrace with heating. Staff made us feel welcome and the food was great.
D. B.
I swung in on a hot day, lured by the advertising of a/c. Table service was quick and efficient. (During COVID restrictions) Had a pint of Pravda, and asked for a food menu. Was blown away to be surprised by a Pan-Asian menu. Fortunately, that’s right up my ally! I had Pad Thai and Pork dumplings, they were amazing! I will be back!
j. R.
Very good Mixed Menu
Gr8 drinks choices
Outdoor seating Both on a roof terrace & street level too.
Rooms there too if u have one too many & need to stay over
P. J. F.
Manager went to the trouble of getting me an extension cord for my laptop.... Now that is caring for your customers... much appreciated.
A. S.
The pan asian food wouldn't be out of place if it were from an authentic Asia restaurant.
P. B.
Hidden gem just off Tottenham Court Road, excellent secluded roof terrace and great Thai food menu. Also dog friendly.
K. G.
Stayed there mid August 2019. Interesting place. When we arrived the place was closed. There was a small piece of paper with a number to call. Once in the pub, we were shown our rooms. 2nd floor, small narrow hallway and steep stairs. Not handicapped friendly! No elevator. Room was beautiful, big comfy beds, great walk in shower. Interesting dog pictures on the walls. Our room was next to an outside terrace, which could be quite noisy. We did not dine in the pub.
M. P.
Great pub, we had the entire upstairs to ourselves and there were only five of us! I understand it's a roof terrace in summer but on 22 December it was well and truly an inside space with heating and comfortable seating... Lovely.
K. C.
Excellent customer service, friendly staff.
Wine was good and food superb. We would recommend the lamb or the beef.
S. J.
Stayed while working in London for a week. I had a standard double room which was perfectly spacious enough for me - nice bathroom with a big shower too.
Coffee machine and Netflix being included was a nice touch!
No lift, and I was on the top floor - but this wasn't an issue for me at all.
Comfy bed and nice quiet location.
Would stay again!
J. F.
Great room at this pub. We stayed on the top floor apartment. We arrived late and the staff kindly took our luggage up. I didn’t expect to go through 3 narrow sets of flights to reach the top. But the room was lovely. The continental breakfast was simple and beautiful.
M. P.
I went for a few casual drinks after work, we were able to get a table right in the corner. Everyone who worked there was really polite and nice, the cheapest bottle of wine was £19 so pretty standard. After a few bottles we ordered some food, I went for the prawn pad Thai, it was genuinely fantastic. You get complimentary prawn crackers with your food and the pad Thai was lovely, really well cooked and came really quickly. My only complaint is that because it's a pub on a Friday its quite loud which juxtaposed with the fact that they actually serve really great yummy food. Space permitting it would of been nice for them to have a restaurant section. But all in, a great night!
M. T.
Great food, friendly staff, lovely roof terrace!
S. J.
Nice quiet bar with a good selection of drinks.
D. B.
Good for your standard English pub. Has a fair range of beers on tap. Is slightly small in that large groups may fill the place easily and standing room isn't in high supply. Rooftop terrace is a great feature however is again smallish and faces north (good for evening sun). Overall reasonable prices and certainly worth a visit on a sunny day. Rooftop terrace requires advance booking however.
A. C.
Very well located, the recently refurbished rooms are lovely and a really good size for London. The staff were really friendly. Only negative was the four flights of stairs we had to climb as no lift. Not a problem for us but something to be aware of.
S. B.
It's been recent refurbished very well and is now clean and stylish. It's not the biggest of pubs and it can get pretty busy but the small roof terrace is a nice retreat. Up on the first floor there's comfortable seating, heaters and a large canopy for the winter months. A couple of tables on the pavement out front are nice for people watching.
The bar staff are friendly and there is a decent selection of drinks. The food menu is incredible, focused on Asian cuisine. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion size and it's now one of my favorite places in the area for a nice lunch. Food isn't served all day long and is limited to lunch time and after six pm.
They've done away with the upstairs function room now, converting it instead to hotel rooms. Everywhere is clean including the toilets and it's certainly one of the better pubs in the area.
K. M.
We booked a room here for a week at the beginning of November. Beautiful, spacious room, excellent food at reasonable prices, great staff. No noise from the pub at all either. Only thing is it may not be accessible to all as there is no lift - we struggled everyday with our buggy. Otherwise it was perfect.
A. W.
One of the best pubs I've been to in a while. The decor is simple yet homely and the beer garden on the roof is is quite unique with heated lamps for the winter. With very friendly staff and a great atmosphere you really can't go wrong with this one.
K.
Dogs allowed! But booking required as it gets very busy.
T. L.
Great little place. Cosy. Super friendly staff. We'll worth an hour or 2 of anyone's time
S. S.
Great food and great service. Black pepper beef dish was yummy! The room terrace was most pleasant on this warm summer nightm
M.
Pub is lively with a good atmosphere and a wide selection of beers and drinks. Staff are friendly and helpful. Outside tables under a canopy with heaters.
The food is Asian based and lovely. And for London very reasonable. 2 pints, a main course, a side dish (small plate) and a pint of coke came to £30.
The bedroom I had was spacious, comfortable and surprisingly well equipped for the UK, coming with air conditioning which is always nice. Well decorated, nice bathroom, comfy bed.
If you have mobility issues or can't handle stairs best to ask about that as my room was on the top floor up quite a few staircases. Not a complaint, just an observation to be considered.
I enjoyed my night here.
F.
Lovely and quiet pub. Staff are friendly and approachable.
j. c.
Rather an odd pub. Quite small and it serves Asian food rather than the usual pub fare, but saying that, the food and the service were excellent, beautifully cooked and tasty, reasonably priced too, would highly recommend it. People popping in for quick pint added to the friendly feel of the place.
K. Ż.
Excellent stay, really good food! We stayed there for 3 nigts last weekend. We ate dinner once and ordered some breakfast, enjoyed cozy outside terrace and we were happy with basically everything! Rooms are really clean and comfortable (i loved the design with dogs pictures!). Staff is really nice and helpfull, we met some minor mistakes with mixed breakfast order and lack of one bathrobe and slippers but it was fine. Location is fantastic! Totally recommend and wanna go back for sure! cheers!
I. S.
Lovely little pub with charming décor and good crowd.
Decent selection of drinks & good quality food, including some vegetarian options. I was very impressed with their steamed veg platter and veggie gyozas.
Friendly, helpful and efficient staff.
Seating is available inside and outside.
Clean toilets. Wheelchair friendly. Good background music 😊
Z. D.
The Grafton Arms was fantastic! The room was spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. The location is central and has several underground stations near by. I would absolutely recommend these rooms, but there are two things I’d note: 1. There is no elevator. We were on the top floor and had to climb, carry luggage up and down, etc. about 8 flights of stairs every time. 2. There is no common space or front desk. You enter through the pub or after hours through a side door. They will still hold your luggage, offer room cleaning everyday and staff at the pub assist you (they’re incredibly kind), but its not like your typical hotel.
A. L.
Great place small but solid beer selection. Some mass produced with some more niche beers worth trying. This place offers great Asian food though getting a table is difficult due to being popular and having very fair prices. You can book a table! Central not from from Euston and Warren Street underground stations.
J. C.
Nice bar with pictures regal dogs in period costume. It has a great selection of beers and IPAs and is near to Warren Street station. So far we haven't tried the food but from what I've seen the food looks great
G. D.
Great service, lovely staff. Nice atmosphere, and terrace was a good space to meet with big groups!
K. P.
We visited on a warm sunny day. The roof terrace was hidden away at the back so it wasn’t so busy.
Able to order food and thy will bring it out to you.
The food was 50% off that day but it was really good and I am still craving the squid, bao buns and duck n watermelon salad!
v. m.
I wouldn’t say the best pub food. But it was very delicious and surely deserves more than 4 stars..!! The portions are very big..!! If you are around, it’s surely worth a visit..!! Cheers :)
L.
Nice little pub, with a brand new rooftop terrace with heaters and blankets.
Best thing are the fries with the amazing sauce!
Only negative point was that I didn’t get student discount as advertised. Maybe next time.
A. N.
Great pub, roof terrace is beautifully decorated and surprisingly warm. The Pan Asian menu tasted fresh and was reasonably priced.
T. M.
Makes me want to come back to London. Sound proof, well appointed rooms, comfortable with passable WiFi and the best Gin and Tonics in town. That would normally be enough for a 5 star review but then they went and hired genuinely friendly people who made us feel incredibly welcome. We're recommending The Grafton Arms to all of our friends and relatives.
V. C.
Nice pub near Warren Street station, cute decor with pictures of regal dogs in period costume. Sat upstairs which is normally out door seating had been converted to an indoor tent area with heating fans for winter. Serves bar dnagks, quick bites and Thai food.
R.
Small cute pub with nice enough staff! The food wasn't bad and the drinks seemed to be valued at a good price.
It wasn't anything special and the crowd weren't bad, may pop by if I'm in the area but wouldn't go across town to visit!
C. H.
Lovely pub great food and service. My first pub outing since lockdown good 👍 day out

The Grafton Arms
❤️ A Lovingly restored Bloomsbury pub with grey Georgian panelled walls and copper pendant lights hanging from the ceiling. There is a reasonably priced pan asian menu and the food looked very good. There is a nice atmosphere in here, perfect for a date night, having said that I was sat on my own in the corner with a pint taking pictures 😀

Lovely wee local 😁... It's pricey ( 🤑AF... like over a 5'er a pint) BUT... Nice atmosphere, amazing wee beer garden upstairs and everything is just so clean.. The bar guys are so proffessional and helpfyl. It's a great little spot. Great food - Thai and class. One quirky element is having to wait AGES for someone to walk up or down the stairs... They have one person size stairs ... and it's a long way up... So if you embark up the stairs there will be people waiting for you smiling politely as you pass giving the obligatory English 'sorry'. Very London. Them saxons/anglo/medieval English people were TINY. Want a laugh? Go see a knight's amour... Looks like a 9 year old costume. SHORT.
M. B.
Gorgeous downstairs with great decor. Upstairs, a delightful terrace! Gin is great, prize is pricey but plenty of choice. Delicious food menu too!
M. L.
I love this place. Good food, good vibes, plenty on tap. Friendly staff!
M. W. (. B.
Asian fusion is not the first thing to come to my mind when I thing of pub food.
The Grafton Arms has gone out of their way to create a unique menu that's sure to satisfy any craving.
They played a god selection of house music while we were there. Very nice feeling to the place
C. N.
Great value for money. beautiful room and modern bathroom. all very clean. super friendly staff. nice thai food in the pub. we are enjoying it very much.
P. R.
This place is my favorite thanks to its spectacular menu, location, decoration and above all for its spectacular service.
It is difficult to find a cozy and modern place at the same time. It also has a terrace with heating where you can drink and smoke in the middle of winter!
T. P.
Good Beers, good roof terrace if you can get a seat. Fans of Asian food, you're in for a treat. Would recommend the duck spring rolls
D. L.
Great service and food was delicious 😋
L. H.
Nice roof top area, warm and comfortable but would have been nice to have a way of ordering that didn't involve constant running up and down stairs and the door outside to smoke kept opening, brrrrrrr!maybe an ordering app like Wahaca has?
P. C.
Good little pub. Reserved an area for a birthday party. Really looked after us. Great atmosphere. Not the biggest or best choice of beers but we had a great night. Thank you!
A. S.
Really lovely, unpretentious little pub tucked away in Kentish Town. We were there to eat at the Lucky Chip residency (burgers, deep-fried cheese, that sort of thing) but the pub is worth visiting anyway. On a Saturday afternoon it was quietly busy with the odd pram, so get in there early if you want to visit with a large group.
R. R.
The food was great, the coctails tasty as well. It is not very big in terms of space, but has a nice roof top seating area as well.
D. N.
Great pub with great and easy to understand covid restrictions in place. Serves very tasty Thai food.
N. J. B.
Great place to stay, provided stairs isn't a problem. Lovely staff, beautiful rooms and a nice location. No lift make the stairs being a daily exercise.
D. P.
Great place to have a drink. Great atmosphere to be in. Will definitely recommend it to anyone who likes to chill after work.
R. T.
Very nice. Didn't have to book av table, but they could squeeze us in.
J. R.
Excellent place with a wonderful outside area. Best Guinness in London.
L.
We had booked the covered roof garden, nice enough, food ok would have been good to have some way of ordering without going all the way down down stairs every time.
J. M.
A public house that I have been coming to since the 90s. The refurbished venue now serves pan Asian food. I sampled the soft shell crab and the chicken gyoza. Excellent
S. P.
This is a great place for asian fusion - they do a great Pad Thai and good local beer. Staff are lovely and the toilets are nice. Highly recommended.
L. M.
Great food, good beer
W. G.
Great pub, and event better with the recent renovation! Excellent rooftop terrace as well, for quiet getaway from a lively Fitzrovia.
E. W.
Great sharing platters and roof terrace.
K. B.
Nice little pub near Warren Street. Friendly staff. A small range of bitters on tap but the two I tried were both good and well kept.
N. C.
poor service and sad food, but they do have a roof terrace - which is a winner during covid times...
A. Q.
Super friendly team, who were very helpful and the cocktails were excellent!!
A.
Great little hotel above the pub
The check in went smooth and we got the room on the top floor
Room had a very high standard and it was clean
Bed was comfortable, shower and bathroom was modern and clean
Location of the hotel is perfect and after staying at several London hotels all from major chains to small boutique hotel this is one I really like
Big recommendation
D. B.
Good cosy pub in Fitzrovia. Would have been five stars if Christmas ale was a bit more robust.
M. V.
Great place, great food and friendly staff. There is also a nice terrace on the first floor... definitely recommended.
S. D.
Went here yesterday to discuss my mates impending wedding, was a nice pub with 3ish ales on tap, was a bit hard to get to the bar but I suppose that is true of anywhere on a Friday afternoon
D. B.
They've improved the be garden for winter with full cover and heating. Nice pub just made a little better!
N. C.

M. P.
Nice roof top bar and good service
C. S.
Quaint and comfortable. But difficult stairs, so be warned if you have mobility problems. ( Or come back after significant imbibing)
F. F.
Lovely place, average prices. Great terrace!!! Miraculously empty on Saturday afternoon for central London.
S. H.
Lovely beer garden, also worth a visit just for the decor. The place is full of dog portraits.
M. S.
Nice cosy pub. Great pint of Guinness. The tables are close together but it's fine - it's London.
