Reviews of The Green Man
G. A.
Great venue to watch football match, darts or similar. They got different big screens. The staff was nice.
But over it, the mushrooms missed the dip, asked to the bat and got it after ask to the bar. "Big double" Burger came without onion rings, didn't bother to ask about it.
T. W.
Great little boozer if you not worried about decor. Cheap drinks and good atmosphere.
Plenty of TVs to watch sports and the staff were very pleasant. Glasses are cleared away efficiently and tables wiped down after each visitor. Nice touch. Freshly made cocktails too. 🍸
D. E.
I popped into the Green Man whilst shopping in the west end. If you want a good old fashioned pub that doesn’t pretend to be anything else this is a little oasis. A great place to send a couple of hours while the Mrs continued shopping. Nice selection of beers and friendly staff. I’ll definitely visit again.
D. J.
Lovely little pub. Quiet and relaxing. Food is good. U get it quick and hot. Don't really buy drinks just Tea. A nice pop in for me when I go up West for shopping.👍🏽
C. S.
Went to the West end to see a show.
As is normal for me I try to find somewhere to eat and drink first.
This is a place I will make a B line for in future. We had a mixed grill and a cheese burger. Very nice. Good price for London and very friendly staff. Definitely Recommend
a. k.
Really friendly place to get a beer and something to eat. Owners are so friendly and generous. Food is so much more than pub grub. Cant recommended highly enough
V.
A nice Sports off a very busy Oxford Circus road. A welcome relief
The tables however are usually very sticky and the staff there do not seen too concerned about customer service
Decent beers on tap and most likely lively on football/rugby nights
G. U. (.
I love this pub. Great welcome. Warm and friendly staff. Good selection of beers and food too. Really can't fault it.
W. C.
Great pub and service - booked dinner and drinks for a birthday party here. Will be back when in this area of town - staff were great and really friendly; highly recommend
J. S.
Good range of drinks and good service. Bit tired inside but has everything you need in a pub. Was less busy than others when visited as food was off but that was good for me
C.
Really nice little pub with great food and excellent service. Great atmosphere too. Will definitely visit again!
D. F.
Beer was a bit pricy but depends on what drink you were trying, some reasonably priced beers, 2 rump streaks ordered at teatime medium rare and well done, I can honestly say one of the best medium rare steaks I have had the medium was also according to my wife a brilliant meal and well worth the price we will be going back .Dave
F. M.
Went to the Green Man last weekend with my brother and I must say, the atmosphere, was great, plenty of people around having a great time, when approached to the bar I was acknowledge really quickly by the bar staff even tho they were busy, I was definitely made feel welcome, the prices were very reasonable specially considering of their location, my mates and I will definitely come back.
Z. B.
What a superb find! Great beer, delicious bar snacks. Welcoming bar staff and really friendly locals! We'll be back!
s. o.
Only nipped in for a quick pint and ended up having a few. The bar staff were really friendly, the atmosphere was great. I didn't eat but looking at the food that did come out i think i will eat here next time. Would I come here again...Definitely.
R. A. B.
Traditional pub, one of the ones that stay open later in Soho and it's lovely and warm. Never had food or many drinks here - usually finish up the night with one here happily and would recommend for that.
P. I.
Charming backstreets (gastro) pub, it has good food and a really nice deal for starters.
The pub does not have many seats but that makes for an intimate and pleasant layout, very comfortable and welcoming considering the location where other landlords might have piled seats to maximize patrons.
The staff was receptive and professional even though I changed my order to benefit from the three starters deal rather than burger.
The gents bathroom is comically small but charming and very tidy.
Overall a great pub in a prime location.
Food wise: I recommend the chips, scotch egg and sausage roll.
D. C.
Great pub just of Oxford street. Served by friendly staff. Really good sports bar.
L. g.
The staff were friendly the food and drink were lovely... sadly the ladies loos were terrible. One loo completely blocked, no toilet roll and hand dryer not working and no paper towels to dry your hands.. very disappointing
But the bar and food were lovely which is what makes this a 3 star, but could have been more
v. m.
Finger licking good...!!! Much much much better than Giggs Bloomsbury .... best fish and chips in central London till now.... the order might take long to come but it’s just because everything is freshly made...... *DELICIOUS*
V. I.
This pub has big screen for waching sport and also you can have some quite good food.
In the evening is very crowded and popular with students and generally people looking for a quick evening dinner and not very expensive.
Atmosphere is warm and service is quite good and fast.
p. g.
Good pub... a lady came znd took our order from our table for our second beers, not standard here but she said.... you looked deep in conversation so I'd thought I'd come and ask... Nice touch. Lovely lady...
H. O.
Very good behaved staffs. Although kitchen was not operational but found it very nice to have couple of drinks with friends.
A. P.
Loved this place....just off Oxford St and Soho. Called in a few times over the 4 days we were there and are on one occasion which was good and you could order through the app on your phone
J. A. O.
I liked it. Nice beers, relaxed mood.
J. B.
Lovely place to relax and enjoy few drinks and catch up with friends. very welcoming staff.
S. c.
Great pub, good vibe, reasonably prices drinks and the food options are great.
h.
Excellent central London boozer only let down slightly by having no Doom Bar or London Pride at the time of my visit but the well kept Pedigree made up for that.
I. N.
I am a bit torn when writing this review. As this is a great English pub and it is everything you expect from an English pub. The wood, the never ending football on TV, great selection of beer. But as expected it also comes with horrible table service. Ordering at the bar is no problem and you’ll get your food, however you’ll wait and hour for the dirty plates to be taken away. No one will wipe the table and no one will clean any rubbish off the tables after the dirty plates were cleared. But then again this is typical in English pubs. What is great about this place is the prices in the locations and the friendly and helpful bar staff. Would definitely come back again and send in anyone who wants to experience The Typical English Pub. And this pub gets 5* from me cause that have a Jagger bomb for 3,60£!!!!!
J. M.
Lovely pub great atmosphere for Christmas
L. M.
lovely pub, friendly staff and yummy food, I will be visiting again soon.
J. M.

I. B.
One of the best pubs in the area, value for money and friendly staff
O. B.
Best pub in the area, great beer, staff and food. Love watching the football here
Z. O.
Nice pub, cheap drinks, very friendly management and staff. Worth to pop in and stay for a few
A.
Decent little pub, good vibe in here & cheap drinks to warmup on.
M. N.
Really nice pub, good prices like for central London. Very busy during the weekend, better if you book table in advance.
R. P.
Lovely pub, friendly staff, good beer and fantastic food . Not expensive
B. C.
We called in the green man 4th July 2021 for a drink and a bar meal. We looked through the menu and selected the Classic mixed grill priced @ £11.75 each. We ordered drinks 1pt Sharps Doom Bar £4.15 and bottle of Bulmers original cider £4.95 these prices prices were good compared to other bars in the area. The mixed grills arrived served with a salad which was very tasty. I ate mine and the plate was clean no waste and my wife's plate was clear appart for a small piece of fat.
I would rate the meal as excellent and would have called in again had it not been our last night in London.
R. L.
Wonderful pub staff very polite food was very good 👍
D. “. E.
Friendly good and timely staff.
Nothing better than efficient staff knowing what they are doing.
S. F.
Top spot. Great food. Fabulous atmosphere!
R. D.
This place is fantastic, the governor and his wife were a pleasure to meet!
R. B.
A lovely old pub in the heart of London, well worth the visit
P. J.
Nice place close to main street Oxford St. in Soho suburb. Great for drinks or classic food.
J. R.
Nice and friendly staff, food is top notch too.
N. H.
Great little pub plenty of choice for food and drink and loads of screens to watch sport on.
j. m.

C.
Affordable prices. Nice atmosphere. Good food.
L. S.
Lovely pub, please keep the character charm and local feel with the refurbishment please 👍
D. B.
Thoroughly enjoyable stop off on our shopping adventure. Good food, pleasant staff and a decent pint. What more could you ask for.
G. P.
Lovely pub. Staff were very friendly, they showed me how to order from the table and the food was great! Will definitely come back.
G. H.
Best pub in soho to watch football, decent beer and friendly staff
D. S.
Nice drinks, service great and food basic but good and tasty, a good choice you can depend on in the westend.
J. S.
Great food! Cosy place! Love ❤ it! *****
s. o.
Great pub with very friendly staff. Worth a visit or 2
M. M.
Great London pub. Good drinks and food at very reasonable prices. Thoroughly recommend
p. d.
Good and cheap place on oxford street...best part is, ot is open till 1 am
M. G.
An ok standard sort of pub, normal big brand beers
M.
It was our first visit to this location. We came in as a family of 3 to have a meal. Despite the current rules and regulations that inevitably take away from some of the pub experience, we had an excellent time. This was all down to one particular member of staff- Tracey. She was amazing! She did everything she could to keep us feeling safe, as well as ensuring that we have a great experience. Thank you! Thank you!
k.
Pretty nice, unfortunately when I was there the drink menu was limited for some reason. Regardless, I enjoyed the visit.
I. D.
Great pub food nice staff
L. W.
Good proper boozer, offering s nice bit of resbite to other places near by..
E. V.
Great atmosphere, nice people, good snacks
M. J.
Great pub, great staff, good atmosphere
B. b.
Lovely afternoon pint and some nicely cooked food, landlord is a nice bloke too.
Z. A.
Spacious good atmosphere however food wasn't the best. had 2 pints, peroni was completely flat not sure why. Heineken was decent
ordered burger and fries had about a handful of fries maybe supplies were low that day, burger was decent. Overall decent pub to watch sports plenty of screens probably will skip the food next time.
D. S.
Very well priced, food very good and the staff very welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend.
K. K.
A good place to see a Football game and a large selection of drafts. Didn't get to try the menu. Recommended.
I. G.
Good old fashioned pub that does food
S. T.
Awesome place and great people. Best place in soho.
R. M.
Interesting 'self serve' pub. We tried the traditional English fish and chips and they were pretty good . Friendly server brought the food to the table. Liked the ambiance..... It is primarily a 'sports bars'. Went back to eat a second time but no seats as a big game was on .
S. G.
We've been here now a number of times in the past year and each time the staff and service has always been spot on and always take the timeout to say hello to my baby boy. The pub itself has a warm and friendly feel and the food is always fantastic.
A. k.
GREAT PUB.
THE GIRL BEHIND THE BAR WAS LOVELY .😁
J. A.
I’ve had always a great time here.
b. e. c.
very good deal good atmosphere all clean and the food very tasty it is hard to find a place where they prepare burgers like this
R. S.
Friendly staff, good service and reasonable price for central London
C. D.
Excellent food and really really nice staff
D. K.
We visited during post-lockdown. Not crowded. Lady at the reception was very clear with all covid related instructions regarding one way policy, track and trace via a QR code scanning, ordering at the table or one person only at the bar.
G.
Great pub. Great atmosphere watching the World Cup here. Staff friendly and attentive. There's 4 Tvs from what I remember.. Not the biggest screens, but perfectly adequate. Food and drink prices are excellent for the area.
A. E.
It is a cosy pub in a busy neighbourhood. Although it is at the heart of touristic areas, the prices are fair (and not adjusted for tourists, as it is the case for most restaurants nearby). The food was good with a nice selection of different ingredients.
S. J.
My husband and I love this local pub... We pop in quite often during the week after business meetings to unwind and we bring friends when they come to visit... Its always lively and the food is very good..not to mention very affordable.. We love the friendly security guy on the door and the bar manager is always very friendly.
A. K.
Loud with football on. Not great for catching up with friends
S. v.
Fair prices and friendly staff. Awesome meal deals and good quality food. On weekdays you get a wrap/toastie/jacket with French fries and a Cider/beer for around 6-7£. Coming here every time I'm in London and always leaving happy.
I. S.
3 stars because there was only 6 beers available.
B. O.
Lovely staff, great prices and generally a nice atmosphere!
A. R.
The pub is amazing the food and drinks are cheap I go there at least once a week for the last 4 years but the new fat security guard who works on weekends is really rude and doesn't know how to do his job properly. He is the worst security guard I have ever seen anywhere in my life. Besides that the place is 5 out of 5 and would recommend everyone a visit.
J. P.
Very nice traditional pub near to the Oxford street. Kind staff, good meal and beer. Even the prices were better than in others less attractive pubs. The pub is quite bussy all day, especially when is some football match etc.
d. L.
Served by a young girl who seemed she couldn't be bothered.
S. O.
I absolutely love this pub. I went last week again and it exceeded my expectations. The food is delicious and delivered quickly, the drinks are tasty and well made, and the service is impeccable. 10/10 would recommend!!!
E. S.
Busy for the football. Good beer
C. B.
Staff was friendly enough, though a little unapologetic about the fact that random swaths of the menu (both food and drink) are seemingly randomly unavailable. Which makes ordering a frustrating experience, had to walk back to the table a couple of times and witnessed the same for a couple of other people.
B. M.
The plus side is plenty of space to social distance, good selection of alcohol available but the service is very hit and miss
I. R.
Friendly staff, warm and clean.
O. N.
This is your regular British pub which is well located in case you hang out around Soho. You get a good selection of beers and other drinks, some decent food as well. The interior is warm, cozy and spacious, with the usual sports TV screens. This is quite a big place and you can even drink outside at the windown the British way.
L. &. C. c.
Cracking pub. Door staff really good too.
j. w.
Brilliant pub exalant food well worth it
J. E. C.
Huge space and nice beers
J. P.
Cheap and good cocktails, as well as tasty small plates!
C. W.
Love seeing John and the team back at work after so long! The service was amazing and I will 100% come back here. 💪
R. W.
Standard pub in a nonstandard location.
I stopped for a pint on a hot day. The air conditioning was running quite cold, so I stood outside: shame there are no chairs outside.
It was midday on a Saturday, but the toilets where in a more "Friday night" state than expected.
Service was quick and friendly.
J. o.
Friendly and welcoming plus pints are around a 5er.
J. N.
Good little pub near Oxford Circus. Freindly staff and wide selection of Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
m. f.
Good food and great service.
R. B. -. E. k.
Went in there for a breakfast with a work colleague.
Okay and good value for money considering you are in Soho.
Definitely useful for a bite to eat first thing and may even try a pint over there one evening.
Staff were fine with us, but that may be dependent on the day you go there, will report back on that
A. B.
great value and surprisingly good food given the cost, in such a central location. However experience marred by being ignored at the bar for 15 minutes when I went to order dessert and the bar lady allowing another customer to be rude to me when he queue jumped in front of me, after I explained i had been waiting for some time. Then waited 30 minutes to get my order and the same lady just acted as if I was being impatient - she evidently was not paying attention to who was waiting to be served at the bar previously, as any good bar staff should be able to do and therefore dismissed me as someone who didn't want to wait my turn.
I posted feedback to this effect on their website and whilst the voucher from their head office was appreciated; not receiving any sort of acknowledgement, apology or personal response doesn't raise my expectations of it being a pub who cares at all about customer service.
G. G.
Budget style bar, cheap prices, lots of drunk people, serves normal pub style food.a great selection of beers and wines however. Staff seem to be ok for the most part.
E. M.
Lovely pub nice gin
E. S.
grate pub awesome service
p.
Great host and drinks
C. M.
Great atmosphere in the Green Man on any day of the week, it's me and my colleague go to place for after work drinks. Was served last night by three lovely barmen who are always accommodating and happy to help, especially Luca, who always has a smile on his face and goes out of his way to help! Would recommend the Green Man to everyone!!
p. k.
Looks like a very nice english pub. The barkeep recomended a local beer. Camden town hells lager very good beer! Unfortunatly no kids allowed after 18:00 so couldnt check out the food. Nice and quiet.
P. S.
Great food and great service
J. G.
This pub was quite busy, but it was a Saturday. You need to order your food and drinks at the bar, somyounneed to remember your table number. I ordered the cod and chips but the guy at the bar took my order wrong because he brought scampi and fries, so i said that i had ordered the cod. So i said that to the he guy who who brought me the wrong order, this guy who i think was also an italian like the guy behind the bar taking my order, and the guy ask me who that was and this was my order. But one guy who was cleaning the tables and taking the glasses apologised and said to this foreign guy who was working there that he had to reorder my food correctly, the guy apologised about it and that i had to wait for my food and that I could get a drink on the house. He was nice and asked apologised again for the miss convenience about the matter. I said it was ok and I didn't need a drink on the house. The food was all right the steak was really good! And the guy was really polite, just a shame for the foreign personel, but I have seen in a lot of places in London that most of them just don't understand enough to work on the service industry.
M. N.
Excellent food and fantastic customer service from Deria and Georgita. Thank you for making me and my wife welcome
See you again soon.
R. M.
Cheap Cheerful and central, and those are it's good points.
This is a starting point pub, not the pub to eat in, or expect great service, however its most likely right in between most of your friends and once you have all assembled it'll be time to elsewhere..
C. M.
Great atmosphere, service was lacking
C. D.
Good selection of beers, lots of TV screens to watch football.
S. P.
In amongst a plethora of hipster cool and trendy bars that are jam packed and expensive is this little gem, still busy but not stiflingly so, good food menu with reasonable prices and a nice range of beers and ciders to suit most tastes, highlight being Old Rosie on tap, winner!
L. T.
Great food and atmosphere. Especially when there is sport on. I'd highly recommend coming here to watch your favourite football team play.
N. C.
Good pub .. don’t miss it :)
B. S.
I giving this 5* not because it is the most swanky pub around, but because best prices on drinks, food in this entire area, couples with good screens for sport is you need to catch the game. Imagine weatherspoons, but having tidied up those little bits that bug you.
G. C.
Nice pub, 30 metre from Oxford street crowdiness. Good meal deals, f.i. a hamburger and fries at 6,60 where you get a pint of Guinness along for an extra pound
S. G.
Great place staff was extremely friendly. I was able to be my loud happy self here. I got to meet up with family and friends and have a good time.
M. H.
Great pint of London Pride
D. K.
Very average drinker's pub but handily positioned just off Oxford Street so you can escape for some peace & quiet whilst your significant other goes shopping.
T. S.
Great staff. Good boozer for sport.
T. B.
Cracking pub great prices see you soon
S.
Service can be a little slow but when they do serve you the staff are always generally friendly. The food is well priced and I've never had to wait more then around 15 minutes from ordering to eating, which is handy for lunch breaks.
V. V.
Amazing atmosphere, staff is efficient and friendly and I had a very good time ! Fish and chips if very good too, and great for watching sports ! Bettina was very nice and fast.
G. w.
This pub is one I a million the manage Joe is some operator. There fish and chips is amazing and if you want to watch the sports in London this is your spot.
R. H.
Cracking burger and pint deal on a quiet lunchtime. Tasted great and a nice pint of Pride. It's changed a bit since I was last in, about 36 years ago.😊
L. S.
Nice pub in central London. Sky Sports on big screens. Food like fish & chips or nice burgers. A good place to watch football with friends, have dinner and drink some bears.
B. G.
Rather crowded but perhaps a victim of its own popularity. Every bar in the area is crowded on a Friday night. Good range of beers, food also available. Reasonable prices considering the location.
G. M.
OK but not the place it used to be. I mean it is literally the same place but it seems very very bland and corporate, which isn't how I remember it (but I may have been drunk then). I should also say it offers very good prices compared to most places in Soho. So that's good I suppose.
L. J.
Great traditional pub just off Oxford Street in soho London.. Great food, nice place to catch up with friends as so easy to find and without thw ridiculous London prices
C. B.
You'll find much better bar's in Soho but this is a good option it you're looking for something a little less busy (everyones at the good places) good is basic with very little care or attention, plus point is they do have sports channels showing events
M. W.
Food not great, deffinately not quality. Friendly-ish service. Server asked to take order three times, part way through order kept being distracted by someone else and served them ahead of us. How rude!
A. S.
Yes it’s shabby, has too many TV’s and is no way trendy. But it’s very cheap, especially considering it’s Soho location.
A bottle of (drinkable) rose wine was £6.50. SIX-FIFTY. A bottle of vinegary-tasting white wine in a bar in nearby Poland St was £16.
So it’s not nice. But for anyone on a budget (perfect for students), it’s a good place to get tipsy before heading off to a much nicer Soho bar.
S. M.
Great staff, great beer, great atmosphere. The only downside is that the drinks were a little expensive but, still worth a visit.
A. B.
Hi, I would like to say I was served by a very nice women she recommended that I have the fish and chips for lunch today. I am over visting with my boyfriend and I was impressed by her service.
H. C.
Now one of my favorite pubs! But just careful because they charge you one pound more if you want an extra tártara sauce
C. W.
Great friendly traditional pub. Good price drinks for the location.
J.
Very good quality and price
EDIT: not well price
O. &. A.
Good pub, not familiar with london went in for a drink with my girlfriend enjoyed it. Security on the door was a great guy having a laugh with us. Average price for london
J. D.
Good hearty food in generous portions at very good prices.
Unlimited tea or coffee for £1 with breakfast (until noon) is a very nice bonus.
D. B.
Food took a long time to arrive but the staff couldn’t do enough to say sorry brought us crisps and a free pint for my wife and I brilliant service and a really nice pub thank you
S. A.
Legendary place love all the staff, even the old lady 🤪
D. M.
Nice friendly staff. Good prices for West end
L. C.
Very friendly staff, very reasonable drinks and really good affordable food. Definitely coming back soon.
A. W.
Great pub with Sky & BT Sports multi-screens. Good pub grub. Great location off Oxford St...lads watch football and girls do some retail therapy...result👍
R. B.
Nice place to have a drink and some typical pub food, reasonable prices and a good selection, just a few seconds from Oxford Street.
w. w.
Nice pub just off oxford street. Not to pricey compared to others nearby. Very fresh beer.
U. R.
Nice to sit in waiting for you flight from london. Im so sorry i did mean to give five stars. Visit soho from Ireland every year 2-3 timea and always go the green man.
J. D.
Bog standard, large central London pub. Average range of Beers featuring the usual names and a couple of decent guest ales. A pub popular with passing tourists popping in for a coffee and a pint in an English pub.
C. R.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere!!
D. K.
Very average drinker's pub but handily positioned just off Oxford Street so you can escape for some peace & quiet whilst your significant other goes shopping.
J. M.
Good atmosphere, food is decent with good prices, especially the 2 for £10 offer. However veg options are limited.
L. C.
Very friendly staff, very reasonable drinks and really good affordable food. Definitely coming back soon.
C. S.
Can't stay away, decent selection of beer, easy going staff and serves food
A. T.
One of the best pubs London. Great prices considering the location, great atmosphere.
S. C.
Lovely food
S. M.
Great staff, great beer, great atmosphere. The only downside is that the drinks were a little expensive but, still worth a visit.
M. W.
OK bar. Quite spacious. Prices were reasonable. Had lots of screens around for sport. Good place for an after work drink
a. c.
Lovely friendly staff...Food was great 😊
C. C.
Doubles cost less than a fiver, the food is good, the staff are friendly, and there are screens streaming sports everywhere. Can't go wrong
L. V.
Good pub of Oxford street, good prices for central London, plenty of meal and drinks deals available. Shows all major sports, good place to visit when shopping starts to get you down
A. B.
Went there on during a 6 nations rugby game so not during normal opening hours. It's an ok pub in central London but was quite rowdy with a lot of drunk people (due to the rugby game obviously)
J. T.
Great place to drink cheaply. This place is very casual and you have the ability to watch sports
J. D.
Great little bar steps away from Oxford Street. Decent prices and a wide selection of beers. The food was good and enough.
M. C.
Great atmosphere. Very clean and excellent food and prices. Service was a little slow and alcohol a bit pricey. Apart from that, most enjoyable.

Great place to watch sports. Cheaper than expected for drinks. Under £5 a pint. Mixed crowd.

Good prices but 2 people serving drinks to a pub full of football watchers? Not to mention the amount of cocaine being done in the toilets.
