Spent here a few days, honestly I didn't expect to much after first impression. The pub is nice the staff is welcoming, the checking-in was fast. Than I entered to the hostel, it was a bit disapointing seeing the general condition. Despite the first shock I had a great time there, special thanks for the staff. Especially to the always cheerful lovely Marta.

Daisy and Josh made my visit here today very enjoyable. They were both very welcoming, friendly, and also exceptionally knowledgable about the craft beers they sell. They are both clearly assets to your team! The pub is cosy, comfortable and spacious so no covid worries. It has an excellent choice of beers, crafts, spirits and food. The burgers look amazing!

awesome stay! booked a bed in a 3-bed female dorm, but got the whole room to myself. The bathroom was right opposite my door, quite convenient although might be a bit loud at night. rooms clean and warm.

Wow. This is by far the best hostel experience in London, or anywhere, as far as I have experienced. I arrived at 1:30am to a beautiful locked pub with a lovely young man to open the door and check me in, offering me chocolates and quenching my thirst (after three flights) with mint and pomegranate seed infused drinking water. The bar has 24-hour drink service for guests, which seemed like something from another time altogether. Down duvet was delightfully fresh and perfectly warming, the other 3 in the mixed 6-bed room were quiet and of high caliber. When I checked out at 6 am, the expresso was good and the service again very warm. Wow, guys! Truly amazing. Im looking forward to my next stay in a few weeks.

Probably the most delicious burger I've had, Cheesus Christ, if not ever, then certainly in a very long time. Well deserved to be called award winning. Nice atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. Heartily recommended!

I just love it. Is really close to my house. Food is amazing with a good price and staff is really friendly. My girlfriend always ask to go there when possible. It just close too early!! Great little place where you can get a good well sourced burger with a generous portion and nice selection of beers. The bar staff were really helpful and recommended some nice things to try, and on a Monday night you can double up your burger - bonus! The quiz night was nice in the background, but the quiz master could have sorted some of his levels on the PA better, but that's not the pubs fault ;)

It's a great place if you're looking for a few days of cheap stay. The toilets should be cleaned more often and the lockers should have been better, otherwise the place is good. I just tried the coffee in the restaurant on the ground floor and that was pretty good.

Great food, with huge portions at reasonable (for London) prices incluidng burgers, tapas and brunch options with special deals at weekends. Excellent and cordial staff who juggle pub patrons, diners and guests at the attached hostel with brilliant efficiency and care. Brilliant, rotating drinks selection including local ales and craft beer on tap. Absolutely nothing not to love!

Amazing 24/7 pub, amazing staff doing their best working on the clock. Very strategic place, right next to tube station to go around London City and Paddington Station just walking distance. Plenty of options for for people to have seats. They also have place to stay, hostel type in amazing condition and facilities like sharing shower (amazing shower just sayin), and toilet, comes with clean bed linen. They also have for charging mobile devices portable provided by "keycafe".

Great hostel! We had another hostel the night before and it was terrible. Clean bathrooms, great staff, great location literally right next to the subway and yet it was quiet - the beds were great and the blankets thick and soft - couldn’t find a fault - one of the bathrooms got messy during the night but that was due to the guests and not the establishment.

had a 'big juicy' burger. Definitely one of the better burgers in London. And one of few places where the photo will match what you get. Two thick patties, melted cheese on a brioche. Slightly spicy and *almost* about to fall apart. I had the choice of fries or hash browns, I opted for the later, next time I'll try the fries as the hash browns weren't anything special. Ended up costing £15, which is a touch more than I'd normally pay for lunch. If it were closer to £10 it be great value

Small, but comfortable rooms. They can get a bit hot in summer, and the plastic covered mattresses don’t help the heat. Great pillows. Bathrooms are not very clean, but that’s ok, there’s lots of people using them. Staff are nice. Rooms are really quiet considering you are staying on top of a busy pub. Don’t bother ordering breakfast here, the kitchen doesn’t open until 9, and even then they didn’t open until 9:15 which meant I had less time to explore. But still, good breakfast. I wasn’t going to not eat a breakfast I had already paid for. Overall, a good stay.

When you've spent the best part of 2015 and 2016 searching for the best burger in London and you find yourself here in 2017, you knee they've done something right. Their signature Juicy Bastard, double pattie, dripping with more juices than any meat should have burger is alright if you like that sort of thing. If you don't. Go home. Lock the door and never come out again. I'd always come here again and again.

Unassuming location with tasty burgers and a good beer selection. The Juicy Bastard is my favourite, though Mexi-Cali Chicken is delicious. The Spicy Chap is REALLY hot!!

The Green Man is a pub and hostel right on Edgware Road. A few months ago, they put up new signs that sounded like something I should check out, "Burger Craft". When I went there, I did not expect too much, I thought it would just be another average pub burger, but I was impressed by their decent burger. I went for the Bacon BACON Bacon burger and it was really a treat. I found the bacon jam a hint too sweet, but overall, it was a very good burger. The skin-on fries were average, nice and crisp, but because they were quite thin, there was not much skin. The wine list looks good and I thoroughly enjoyed a glass of the Picpoul de Pinet. Being a hostel, all kinds of people, young travellers, random guests and also locals hang around, which makes for a nice and relaxed atmosphere. It reminded me a bit of the fun days when I was living at a hostel for some time. Burger Craft at The Green Man is easily the best place for a burger on Edgware Road (I know, that is perhaps not too difficult, but still an achievement). They also do live acoustic nights, so I might pop in again soon for music and drinks.

A big downside to staying at Publove, is how hot the rooms are. Don’t underestimate the reviews, because it’s like a sauna in there. You can open windows and doors as much as you like, but there is no air from the outside reaching the inside. The staff themselves agreed that the temperature of the rooms is ridiculous. One member of staff was a little bit rude upon check in, very passive and just wanted us to leave, but everyone else was incredibly kind and accommodating. Apart from that, the rooms weren’t as small as you’d think. If you’re only using the hostel to sleep, it’s fine. However, as with any hostel, we had people coming in and out until 4-5am, and considering we hadn’t slept at all in 48 hours plus the heat in the room making it very difficult to sleep, it was a big problem. The showers were clean, the toilets could have been better, but you get what you pay for and it wasn’t unbearable. It’s located right next to Edgware Road station that uses the Bakerloo line and takes you straight to Oxford or Piccadilly, where you can transfer to other lines. There’s no noise from the pub downstairs travelling to the rooms at any time, which was a plus. The sheets were a little dirty, and there was plenty of dust behind the beds. I wouldn’t stay here again, personally, because the heat is unbearable. Perhaps in the colder months it would be more tolerable but there’s just no way to survive more than three nights in the summer.

The room was a bit too small for 6 people, and if anybody moves the beds were super noisy. Room arrangement could be better too. Bar - burgers are very good and especially the cheese inside. The meat was so-so, a bit dry and overcooked. Also fries and hash-browns were ok.

Dormetary accommodation, mixed ages and mixed as well as single sex rooms. Drink is good and adventurous, but food, well no! Not suitable for disabled, steep windy stairs up 2 floors to rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. For accommodation in London it's very good value for money. Get to meet people from all over the world. Bed linen provided but towels cost extra. Clean and well looked after.

As everyone says the staff are very helpful, and there's always lots of buzz in the bar. Great for young people. For me personally, an older fella, the downsides were: - wifi didn't work for my Mac (cost me £70 checkin fee from Ryanair) - no kitchen facilities - no quiet lounge-type space

The pub is great, with a good selection of beers. I had a farmyard hamburger fo dinner and I can say that is among the best I've ever eaten, they have a very good kitchen. The breakfast is also amazing, with wild mushrooms. The hostel is okay, the bed is comfortable. I would only complain for the noise in the rooms, the windows have to remain opened because of the heat in summer so all the noise from the street makes it a bit difficult to sleep. Overall, very good for a night or two, bring earplugs and enjoy the pub!

Main Pros: - Super comfy beds - Lockers in rooms - Above a pub with delicious food and awesome alcohol - Free wifi - Really friendly and helpful staff - Central, convenient location close to three stations (though one wasn't functioning when I visited in November) - Free breakfast - Live music on Thursdays Cons - No cooking facilities I would definitely recommend the Green Man and intend to stay there again next time I'm in London. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the place is cosy and comfortable. Great place.

The burgers are great; really tasty and cooked to order. The spicy fries were crisp and (for London, at least) a reasonable portion. There is a good range of real (craft) ale on tap and a wide selection of bottled stuff behind the bar. The staff are very friendly and quickly came to recognize me over the week that I was working in London -I think giving lollys to one of the bar staff helped there! Upstairs from the pub is a backpacker hostel, so there is an interesting mix of people in the bar enjoying the food, drink and non-pop music mix most nights. Apparently the bar is open 24/7 for residents 😁

As someone mentioned before, you pay cheap, you get cheap. The hostel was OK, for the price. They serve free breakfast, they are close to the center (2stations from Marble Arch) and the staff was friendly and helpful. However the floor of the shared room was filthy, the room stank like a gym, it was overcrowded and once or twice the showers had only boiling hot water. The wifi also didnt work properly (neither on my phone, nor my GFs) If you are young, dont care about crowded rooms and noise, it is OK. I might be too old for hostels though...

The Green Man is a very good hostel! The staff is very cool, bathroom are clean, bedrooms and beds are very good too, and finally the hostel is perfectly placed, If you are here to look for a job or for holidays, I recommend you that hostel! Furthermore, the live music on Thursday and the DJ set on Friday are very nice, so don't hesitate ;)

Came here after Brewdog Paddington shut at 11 on a Friday. Would have enjoyed the good range of beers if it wasn't for the enthusiastic group who thought everyone would like to listen to their shouted chants and clapping. Shame the staff felt too intimidated to do much about it.

Went to Green Man at the start of our eurotrip, and went back again to wrap up the end of the trip! Pleasantly greeted by the fantastic and personable staff! They were always there when we needed and did their best to help with whatever ailed us even on busy nights. Fun acoustic, live band, and karaoke nights as well! Met tons of new friends from all over at this hostel! Strongly recommend +++Props to bartender Amanda, and manager Francesco!

I can't comment on the one star reviews that seem to relate to the hostel above the pub, accept to say that the pub is clearly signed "The Green Man" outside, whereas I'm guessing "Publove" relates to the hostel, so really these two enterprises should be separate. Naming problems aside, the pub is actually quite nice, and conveniently located next to the station - however £6 for a pint seems a bit too expensive. Decoration is traditional pub style, with decent music. I ordered a plate of fries with my beer, and expected to get 3-4 bits of potato in a small glass, as seems to the custom when ordering fries in a pub these days, but was pleasantly surprised to be given a portion that was almost chip shop sized, although nothing to write home about.

I used to drink in this bar regularly and still frequent it occasionally. It's normally a good pub with a good atmosphere but today I witnessed a masterclass in bad pub management! The barmaid, who was mostly alone, had been taking a lot of abuse from a drunken old man. When she was joined by a male co-worker, who appeared to be in charge, he failed to back her up. Instead of throwing the drunk out he tried to reason with him, a man who had already proved himself to be wholly unreasonable, and even asked the barmaid to be quiet. After an argument about a burger order that had been cancelled the barmaid, understandably, had enough and walked out. Meanwhile the obnoxious drunk was still there, still shouting abuse. When I challenged the barman and pointed out that the drunk should have been thrown out and the barmaid should still be there other customers agreed with me. By this stage myself and my partner had had enough, and like the put-upon barmaid decided to vacate the premises.

Everything was great! Very-very-very good location, in 15 seconds from Edgware Road (Bakerloo line) station, 10 minutes to the centre of London, Piccadily circus. Friendly stuff, clean rooms, shower with hot water at every floor, house keepers cleaning everything everyday. By the way, this was a surprise for me, but bed was sooo comfortable. Also good prices and atmosphere in the pub. If you will go from hostel to the right - you will find Sainsbury's and lot of cheap fast foods. This was my first travel to London and this was great! Thanx to all staff
