Popped in here unplanned on a Sunday afternoon. They were full and the lovely lady still accommodated us and found us a table in the corner and brought me a big bowl of water. My human ordered the Sunday lunch beef and said the Yorkie was one of the best they’d had in a pub. The roast beef was soft and delicious - I know because I had some after being such a good boy and waiting patiently. The staff were all super friendly and I got lots of fuss and cuddles. We’re going to come back (soon I hope!) Thanks Islington Town House! Love from Henry x

Great Pub near the market and shopping centre. Staff are friendly and offer table service. Good selection of beers and 2-4-1 cocktails during happy hour. Went on Sunday for a roast and it was lovely. Nice place for a meeting with friends ,to grab a drink and watch sports

Came in for dinner on Sunday. Arrived at 18:30. Immediately was seated and welcomed by the staff. Had a Sunday Roast and it was excellent. The horseradish alone might have been worth the trip. Will be back.

A very welcoming bar serving a good variety of food at your table, either inside or out on the street terrace. Attentive staff, ordering direct at the bar or at your table. Screen showing various sports. On my visit I saw Speedway which was a nice change from the usual sports on offer. It does get busy in the evening, if you are with a large party it’s worthwhile booking in advance. If you want something light I highly recommend the sausage in a roll with fries, superb quality and price.

Spacious clean pub in a convenient location. They were kind enough to put on the Football, was a little surprised it wasn't playing on super Sunday. Sunday roasts post lots of options and the chicken I had was quite good. The staff was friendly and the manager knew more than a thing or two about cask ales. The upstairs was bustling, lots of people coming in and out to enjoy a boozy Sunday, but it had no real impact on the calmer downstairs environment. I was with my little one and we had a great time. Overall a nice spot to catch as pint, a match or a meal.

A great little corner venue with good beer and great staff, shabby chic place with eclectic furnishings. There is a hippopotamus, music playing and footy on the television but neither are intrusive. A very pleasant place to visit and spend an hour or two putting the world to rights!

Had a Sunday Roast there and really enjoyed the food! Pork belly was one of the best I’ve ever had, veggies were well but not over cooked and gravy was great. Service was impeccable and the place is well located and beautiful per se. The only down was the Yorkshire pudding which was quite tiny. Nevertheless I would recommend and return!

Before Corona I came here quite often. I like the interior and upstairs its a very cosy area. You can also enjoy football if you want. Unfortunately the pricing changed and seems to me overpriced. I understand the Covid-19 Situation but for a glass of water with lime cost me 3.90£. I can't remember they charged an extra fee for table service. I guess so. Food will be serve from Oktober 07th. Once again I understand the situation but many people can't afford this pricing anymore I still like this pub but its overpriced. Stuff is friendly and follow the Covid Rules.

Was really pleased when this place opened, renovated from the jazz bar. Lovely selection of beers and friendly staff. Their Sunday roasts are hands down the best pub roast I've ever eaten. Buttery soft beef, pretty much perfect potatoes and insanely good gravy (with extra in a jug which you WILL use). Can't recommend highly enough.

Some friends and I reserved "the lounge" for some drinks. It was a nice, comfortable space but some of the seats were slightly low for people who may have difficulties getting up and down. Good drinks selection and a good selection on the food menu too. A friend of mine had fish and chips that looked and smelled delicious but she said the chips were a bit too big and solid (she's from the north so knows what proper chippy chips should be like). The decor is interesting - an eclectic mix of vintage looking items and furniture give the place real character. Prices reflect the area - definitely not somewhere to go for a cheap drink but not hugely over priced for central London.

Recently refurbished pub really homely interior matched with great staff. the whole feel of the place was really welcoming. Had a great time! Their mini fish and chips on the lunch menu is fantastic. A great selection of beers and staff who can talk about them too. Have seen some photos of their Sunday roast online - looks incredible! Need to go back and try it soon!

Reserved a table as my husband had been a few weeks previously and really rated the steak considering the price £12.50. Very busy place considering it was Wednesday night. It has a nice feel and vibe with different areas over three floors. As we were seated on the third floor it was a bit of a pain having to go downstairs to order drinks and food. Long wait for starters - they said they were very busy and not much apology - but it is essentially a pub. Steak came at a reasonable time after this. That said, starters were great, particularly veg tempura. Steak was well cooked, lovely chips. Slightly over salted steak but not a massive problem. I would happily eat here again. Good for a casual meal and well priced for Upper Street.

Accidentally stumbled in here while looking for the punk venue of a similar name (the Islington) however it's a nice place. Has the best beer in the world on tap - CH. And a nice atmosphere. Good for a pre drink to the actual place you're looking for 😂

We had leaving drinks for a colleague here a few weeks ago and it was brilliant. We had a small area to ourselves and there was table service even for drinks so we didn’t have to keep going down to the main bar. We also ordered some food platters and the food was very good, so I think we’ll be back for lunch or dinner sometime soon! The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful; I’d definitely recommend it.

I hosted my sister's baby shower here and I have to say throughout the team were excellent. I could not fault a single thing, the manager Jess went as far as to help us all set up the room when we were in a hurry, Camille our bar lady was running up and down and always happy to help, the food was delicious! This is without spending the usual huge digit number on a venue. The most pleased I've ever been with a event at any venue, highly reccomend!

A great place to meet friends with friendly and accommodating staff and excellent food. The food is fresh and interesting and although the menu is quite short, the options that we had were all very good. This included the beef grilled sticks, the burger with added bacon, fish and chips which was fantastic and the fried egg with spinach and anchovies starter thingy. The burger was very simple and felt like the patty deserved some seasoning. It was all very fresh but also quite basic but in a fresh way rather than a boring way. it is not the typical unhealthy feeling burger you would get from a pub. The virgin mojito we ordered was okay but a bit heavy on the lime syrup. As they are not a cocktail bar I cannot fault them too much but although it was made with care it was not a true mojito. Really happy we went here and had a great time.

Back to Islington with an old school friend for our quarterly nostalgic trip. Spent a pleasant afternoon here, the staff were pleasant and I have to say that the fish and chip lunch was one of the best we've ever enjoyed in a pub.

One of my favourite places to have a drink in Angel. I like the interior a lot as it is a bit different than a regular pub. Closer to a bar I'd say. It has multiple levels with tables, so you can sit with your friends.

I came week before Christmas with bunch of friends. Service was very good, but extremely understaffed, so it was a struggle for the team. What has put me off was the cleaningness. The glasses were absolutely filthy, with lipstick and hand marks all over. Did not look like they were anywhere close to a glasswasher, more like rinsed with ice cold water. I know that it's not a fancy place, I'm cool with water marks and don't expect anyone to polish glasses. But this was disgusting. On the other hand, very nice decor and beautifully designed.

Have been here a couple of times for drinks. The bar has several levels with random closed off sections and quirky seating. There is also a good selection of beers and bustling atmosphere downstairs in the evening.

I've been here many times on Friday & Saturday night, which is of course their best talent nights, and the music and atmosphere has been fantastic. So good, that I would be happy to pay a cover charge to further support the bar/musicians/bands. Alas, they VERY rarely ever charge cover, so I happily buy the CDs if they' band is selling. The customer to bar staff ratio is not in the staffs favour, but they do a great job of trying to work quickly and trying to serve on first come-first basis. I wouldn't go out of your way to get here early for a table and a seat, as people like me will arrive at 9-11pm and get the best place,... right in front of stage to stand and dance for the evening. If you especially like mostly great live Blues, as I've seen less Jazz here, I don't see how you could be disappointed with an night here!

Heading out in Angel, but not a fan of the pub crawl .. enjoy a great atmosphere over the top of the pops blaring at you at ten times the volume you heard them all day on the radio .. you do not have to be a fan of Jazz musique to enjoy a night out here because the atmosphere is so alive it is tangible, you can breathe it in and watch yourself transform as the night turns morning and your night into memories.
