Reviews of The Kilburn Arms
D. A.
Superb. Meal was tasty and well-portioned, and the barman Steve was a true credit to the place! It’s laid-back, relaxed but top quality and honest. The room is a good size, nicely furnished and comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here again.

Really nice food. Dover sole with asparagus spinach and crispy new potatoes and caper lemon sauce was superb, a dish all of the Kilburn Arms own. I love their risotto too but everything on the menu sounds great. Fair prices. Very dog friendly. My dog and I love to hang out in the corner with huge windows where I can read and he can sniff smells of food people or dogs or just nap.i am not a pub person but am rapidly becoming a Kilburn Ar6pub person.

Great pub, plenty of space, nicely done up and really friendly staff. The food is brilliant especially the chicken wings which are a fave of everyone I have brought here. Prices are pretty reasonable and the live music nights are fun - what more could you want!
J. G.
This place is great! I like the atmosphere and staff . I take my dog for walks and it’s always been a great stop for a cold drink and chunky chips for my dog girl . Today I was amazed of the quality of oysters and Sunday roast was served in very generous portions. The size of the pork cut its size of my leg lol . Must try !!!

Nice pub i think its a bit expensive but only thing I didn't like their bathroom it's too tiney and has got 3 doors could be 2 doors?
There is no room to come out without squeezing and push towards the toilet therefore our clothes gets dirty.
I hope theh can sort that out!
C. T.
Such a nice comfortable, spacious pub, so relaxed and delightful staff. Good outside space too, when the weather gets a bit warmer. Highly recommended.
D. D.
Safe, comfortable stay. Spacious, clean rooms and reasonable price. It can get loud during the evenings as there is a pub downstairs but it doesn’t go too long into the night so it wasn’t an issue.
I liked warm quilt and comfy, large double bed. There is no breakfast option but London is known for an abundance of cafes therefore lack of breakfast facilities it’s not a problem.
I think I will stick with this place for any future business trips as it is a good location ( close to the Kilburn underground station) and they are not overpriced as many other London placed that would not hold a candle to The Kilburn Arms.
Checking in is at the bar and is quick, efficient and relatively friendly, although keep in mind that they are very busy there and have your ID and phone number ready.
Well done The Kilburn Arms, glad I have found you!
A. M.
Had a great stay. Evie was very welcoming and friendly host. Hearty, filling pub food. Nice atmosphere and live music.
S. G.
Very friendly and considerate service. I was sitting on the patio at the front of the pub in the cold and a lovely member of staff came out to tell me about the garden at the back (which has heaters) and also to ask if I would like another drink. It’s an unpretentious pub but a nice place to refresh oneself after a walk around the cemetery next door (highly recommended)
C. H.
Great Saturday night, fantastic music by a quality band such a brilliant atmosphere. The whole place was rocking and even I ended up dancing which is very rare. Staff were very friendly and professional and I never waited for drinks despite it being busy. My only regret is we ate before going so didn't try the food which looked excellent so will go back hungry very soon!
P. N.
Amazingly grand and beautiful pub. Excellent service, great banter and soulful tunes. Food was exceptional and worth the price. Frank and jasmine made my birthday so special and the rooms are cheap and private. Homely atmosphere and quirky vibe.
R. “. H.
Great atmosphere, live bands new young owner doing his best to put this pub back on the map(steve)and its working.well done to him,oh its also pet friendly.

I am very pleased with the stay, tasty food, full of culture, nice time.
B. M.
Great pub, looks like it was recently refurbished. Friendly staff, good beers. Good selection of cocktails and some really good food! A colleague was staying here and praised the rooms.

I stumbled across this hidden gem by chance. Having walked Archie most mornings during lock down at Old Paddington Cemetary next door, I decided to give the Kilburn Arms a try. I was not disappointed. We had a girls luncheon. The food was EXCELLENT. The oysters freshly delivered and very competitively priced. The whole seabass was exquisitely cooked. The ingredients are super fresh. In particular the service was SPOT ON and all staff are friendly. So impressed with my first visit I went back 24 hours later just to have some more oysters. You can never have enough oysters!!!! This is now my new local. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. My only critique - have a more varied gluten free menu please i.e. gluten free pasta and bread
M. S. J.
Great local pub with excellent friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. Very dog friendly. Excellent Sunday Roast and fish & chips.
M. D.
A very nice pub with great food and live music every Saturday night. What more can you ask for!!
L. I.
Lovely pub, with a great garden! The food is tasty too
A. F.
Friendly staff
Clean rooms

But overall happy xxx

Everything you want from a local pub, it even has a fish and chips shop on the side.
L. O.
Lovely pub, decent pint of Guinness, and good live music. BUT no cask ales as advertised outside. Get the ale on and this will become my local.
F. M.
Really enjoyed the atmosphere, fish and chips fabulous!
S. J.
Booked a table for me and my partner to have a nice Sunday dinner, the staff were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food was nice the atmosphere was great. Really enjoyed our Afternoon lunch would defo be returning again. Would recommend to friends and family.
G. J.
First visit there and I love it. Such a beautiful pub, in and out. Fantastic staff. Very friendly and helpful. I went along with some colleagues and we are still talking about it. A hidden gem.
A. B.
Lovely pub/ B and B. Clean and tidy, nice friendly staff, well priced, good food. Will definitely stay again if in the area. Free parking on the road outside on Saturday/Sunday. Don't know about weekdays.
J. K.
Friendly staff. Lovely garden. Good food and cocktails.
M. G.
Italian chef Adalberto Battaglia transformed The Kilburn Arms into a local gem where you can have Michelin level food at pub’s price. The seafood is fresh and so delicious, you must try the fritto misto. And the pasta Cacio e Pepe, a classic roman dish, is probably the best I ever had! P.S. I am Italian.... #TrattoriaRomana @QuintoQuartoUK
f. m.
Very nice pub with lovely back garden. Staff was attentive, kind and smiley. The burger was cook nice and juicy, would use a better quality bun. Will come back. 😉
T. L.
Nice location, great atmosphere with a good choice of cocktail (2 for 1 on Thursday).
Fish and chips is pretty good
m. c.
Clean, modern, recently refurbished accommodation, honest price and buzzing bar downstairs. Great find for a stay in the area!
S. S.
My friend daughter had a sit down meal & the food was delicious. There roast chicken & beef was lovely l was so full up & couldn't finish all the meal. This place is definitely worth a visit. The staff were excellent. Nice place to just have a drink too.
J. C.
The beer garden is very pleasant. Adorned with hanging lights, covered seating and outdoor heaters its perfect for a drink with mates or a casual date. Chips are good too
R. V.
I saw a sign outside where they have a fish and chip shop attached to the pub saying Soups available.
I went and asked for the French onion soup.
It was worth the 4 or 5 minutes wait!!!! Plenty of onions which were heated separately from the stock and a couple of slices of baguette covered in melted cheese. There was a generous topping of croutons and onion flakes. Superb or should I say SOUPERB 😊
E. K.
Lovely local with William Morris decor, comfy chairs and dark wood interior, great cocktails and an incredible Sunday roast.
B. “. L.
Beautifully refurbished, friendly staff, amazing food and good selection of drinks. Still early days so some teething "issues" but I keep going back and happy with my new local :)
R. G.
Great pub, with a useful outdoors section.
Decent beer and spirits, plus a realistically priced food menu.
Try it for Sunday lunch!
A. I.
Great pub with high quality food and awesome service! It has decent alcohol selection and food menu changes regularly serving seasonal favourites. It has large drinking area, large dining area and two gardens: small at the front and large in the back.
J. C.
The calamari was delicious and very chill pub bar.
B. M.
We had a lovely lady serve us, so polite and willing to do anything she could to help. Couldn't fault the customer service. The roast dinners was bang on! 5* star value and service. Only issue I had was the toilets were a bit run down and scrappy... Broken door lock and tiniest sink to wash your hands. Would still go back, perfect all rounder pub.
L. L.
This was one of my favorite pubs in England. The atmosphere was amazing. Great decor and great music. The staff was very friendly. I had fish and chips. It was a bit salty, but I think that is expected with fish and chips. My wife had the blackened salmon, it was so good. Good prices for the amount you get. I would definitely go back
T. F.
Great pub. Friendly service
L. W.
Great spot for an overnight work stay! The rooms are great and the hostess was magnificent.
C. D.
Yummy roast and lovely laid back atmosphere.
R. S.
Stayed here and ate in the pub on a Saturday evening. Both pub and room were excellent for the price.
Strong range of beers and a better food menu/quality than most pubs. Both Sky and BT on the box too.
Room was a good size and newly refurbished. Easy to get to in a quirky little pocket of NW London.
L. G.
Such a fantastic pub.Very welcoming staff, beautiful interior and an amazing beer garden.I am so happy we have found this pub as we will definitely come here again.Great selection of drinks,we didn’t try the food but it looked great.
B. B.
Excellent oysters and really great olive's bread
K. K.
Had the lamb Sunday roast here, was amazing! Really friendly and welcoming staff and a really nice atmosphere. The chef even came out to have a chat with us, which was a really nice touch. We'll be going back for the pancakes and french toast for sure!
R. P.
Amazing chef, great food. Service was top-notch, they made sure we're properly taken care of. Price of the food is reasonable as the food was high-quality.
C. K.
Great atmosphere , fish and chips served
O. B.
Brilliant pub food and amazing seafood selection too. Lobster is a must and very well priced. They also catered for a vegan with us. Their new refurb is tastefully done.
This is now my new local.
Scott is a legend 👍🏼

Had the pleasure to eat, drink and stay at the Kilburn Arms recently for several days. Location was quiet, central, and rooms let lots of natural light in. It is close to all kinds of transport, enabling you to get anywhere you need to go in London. Hyde Park and West End are approx. 15 mins away on the tube. The inside (bar/rooms) has been completely refurbished tastefully and in keeping with The character of The Building. The bar is large and offers a good selection of drinks. Food is of a very high standard, and I congratulate the chef on a very tasty and well thought out menu. The staff are extremely helpful, polite, and greet you with a warm smile. Rooms are well laid out, and the beds have a 5 star Mattress. One of the best sleeps I have had whilst travelling! Each comes with an ensuite and the shower has superb water pressure. Overall I cannot rate the Kilburn Arms highly enough, and it will certainly add some great memories to your trip to London.
R. B.
Bright, attractive, comfy interiors. Staff friendly, though a bit confused and disorganised taking orders. However, the food came very promptly. The calamari was amazing - enormous battered rings of it, and the regular chips were very nice. Sweet potato fries could have been cooked just a little longer. The lobster was tasty but too small, even for the very reasonable price (at £15 we knew it wouldn't be much meat). Really, we could have done with more implements to crack the claws and pull the meat out - we used our forks.
We would definitely come back and try some of the things on the main restaurant menu.
N. S.
Best pub in Kilburn, and Ewa is the best! Very personal service, you feel extremely valued every time you walk in. Very dog friendly too.
P. B.
Great pub. Lovely decor, great staff, food is really nice and rooms for b&b are modern and clean. Highly recommend.
A. K.
A hidden gem of a pub. Great atmosphere warm welcoming staff and beautiful decor, I love a bit of velour and this place embraces it.
The food was delicious. And best of all they are dog friendly, and the dog felt right at home.
Can't recommend it highly enough.
D. M.
Great bands on a Saturday night and nice venue
C. R.
I never set food in here prior to the refurb as it looked dire and had a dodgy crowd. The refurb is great and now I pop in for a drink or two when walking past. Fish and chips are very nice, I didn't like the calamari much though as there was too much batter (prefer it to be crumbed) but the presentation was very good.
T. R.
Great public house, very friendly atmosphere. Now doing takeaway meals, absolutely wonderful! Also serves tea and coffee with a choice of milk eg: soya milk for vegetarians. My friend said that the beer was excellent, very clean tasting! Worth a visit? Most definitely!
R. B. -. E. k.
This is a local pub to Willesden Lane and the owners have done a great job doing it up. There is a fish and chip shop run beside the main pub and they do nice fish and chips.
This pub is very Covid aware and taken all necessary precautions to safeguard their customers and make going out a safe experience.
During the Summer there is a nice large outdoor area and it is spacious inside the pub so easy to keep your distance.
It have been very tough for businesses since the Pandemic and we need to get out after this 2nd lockdown to support our local businesses and try help them get back on their feet.
So if you want a safe night out this is a good place to go.
S. W.
The refurb kept all the best design features and updated the rest (the toilets in particular are a welcome upgrade). Clean, spacious and beautifully designed. Nice beer and drinks selection. The food smelled amazing -- looking forward to trying it.
T. C.
Great food, great cocktails, nice gastropub
S. B.
I can't believe you can get food this good from a pub! Delicious and the service was incredible.
A. P.
A unique hidden gem in North West London. Just 15- 20 min away from Hyde park, by car or by tube, which is only 5 min walk. Surprising quite neighborhood, superb location, with no buildings near by, which makes all rooms sunny and bright and full of air. A feel of the era gone by in every detail, but with modern rooms, that are brand new and with all modern amenities, unique for London hotels specious feel leaves you very surprised as ceilings are very high. Beds are as comfortable as your would expect in 5 star hotel for a lot more money. Rooms are absolute steel for the 60& weekly and 90& weekend rate. Stayed here for 4 days and want to come back every time in London again.
And then come other shock, bar and food on the first floor are to die for, as you would not expect in just local pub, fresh oysters, lobster, pan fried seabas, roast beef or steak, fresh carpaccio with truffle oil, scampi, great selection of beer, and then on top of it absolutely - bare none, fish and chips I ever had, (And I did travel a lot and big fan of the dish). All prepared by great Italian chef. You will be crazy to miss this place for stay of for dinner, as atmosphere in the bar and restaurant allows you to spent a day, just sitting, eating drinking and admiring view, as time goes by. (did that for Sunday and Saturday !!) Big thanks to the team that served us for the great weekend in the city.
S. A.
Very Nice and Cosy Pub restaurant. Great Staffs, Chef and Manager they really looked after Me and my Partner, We Felt really welcome. The Food was Excellent
Definitely Highly recommend the Kilburn arms.
E. T.
This pub has been done up really nicely, the menu is great & the chef knows what he’s doing. Staff were nice & fun too. Overall I was very impressed.
S. K.
Lovely place. Comfortable stay. They have maintained the place well. Friendly atmosphere.
T. C.
They've done a really good job with the refurb. It's a bit off the main thoroughfare so suffers with a lack of passing trade which is a shame because it's a decent pub. It's close enough to Queens park to warrant a short walk from Lonsdale Road. The owner is friendly and the food is excellent.
T. B.
They have two amazing gardens in the back, it was great to watch the Euros there! Friendly staff.
A. F.
Lovely food, above average and great selection of fish dishes.
I'll definitely come here. It's spacious and relaxed. Great addition to the area.
S. R.
Great food, atmosphere a service. Looking forward to visiting again. 👏🥂💞
J. P.
Amazing food that’s pretty reasonably priced, very well made cocktails, friendly helpful staff. I’ve eaten here twice and both times were great. The seafood is particularly good
L. D.

My 1st time going to the kilburn arms... went with the whole family for fathers day, the staff were lovely and the food was delish! ! Highly recommend the blackend salmonand the steak. This will definitely be our place to go as a family,on special occasions! We were all so very pleased :)complement to the chef

I want to like this lovely pub which is a sensitive restoration of a disastrous predecessor in which I hardly ever set foot, despite living just 250 metres away. I also want to counter the judgments of the last reviewer: I have eaten here three times and the food, especially the fish, is first class and not expensive either, in my view. And, to declare an interest, that view is delivered despite my originally proposing an alternative set of caterers (in which I have no financial interest) to run the kitchen. The pubco (Star pubs aka Heineken) was right and I was wrong.
Desperate as I am for the place to succeed, that is the end of the good news. It is 13:00 on a Sunday lunchtime and I have been sitting in the pub for 15 minutes and there are 5 other customers. The kitchen is closed despite a lot of hullabaloo about a weekend bottomless brunch offer in the initial publicity. The bar staff couldn’t say when it would be open but thought it would be a hour. A friend I met this morning who is influential in the middle class middle aged communities which surround the site and which would be its natural market told me that she and friends waited over 40 minutes for food one evening this week. Last time in I couldn’t get chips, only fries, because they had run out, and this in a pub with a built-in fish and chip shop. The music track is dire easy listening and like much of the rest of the offer betrays not a moment’s critical thought about who the pub is trying to attract. Sometimes the mixed messages are close to each other - the gents toilet offers the handwash of a gastropub but the stainless steel pissoir of a neglected basic boozer from the 1970s.
This outdatedness and lack of sense of place and identity is most clearly seen in the beer offer. I exaggerated slightly when I posted on local media when the pub first opened that it had no beer that wasn’t introduced more than twenty years ago. This is an exaggeration because the bar offers Punk IPA in bottle, and Lagunitas and Coast to Coast - Heineken’s own (unsuccessful imo) attempt to mimic American craft beers - on draught. But hey - the Kilburn Arms is 5 kilometres from the very centre of a city that has seen a brewing revolution this century with a vast flowering of new breweries and brewing styles. Yet is there one London brewed beer of any character on offer here? I challenge the pubco or the management company - whoever controls drinks policy - to find one competitor pub in the vicinity that offers nothing from the likes of Camden, Meantime, Beavertown or Kernel.
We are prepared to love you but first you have to show that you know us and are prepared to listen, and based on what you learn, show us who you really can be. It’s a case of ‘will the real Kilburn Arms stand up please? ‘
M.
Great food and service. Very cool manager too.Try it out!
E. s.
Still very much finding it's feet following the refurb. The prices are a touch all over the place (some really expensive, some surprisingly cheap) and definite discord with the food ordering and arriving process ie ours didn't arrive and we had to chase it to find out that the gas had gone off but the lady was very good at apologising for this. Hopefully this is all just teething problems and can give this a glowing review further down the line as our local and really wish it well.
d. v.
excellent food friendly staff and great service highly recommended
J. P.
Welcoming pub with a good menu of food, shots & cocktails. Will visit again.
A. L.
Just awesome all around. Unique food for a pub, with a seafood menu. Great drinks. All the sports on TV but not a "sport pub" vibe at all. Great for families and singles.
T. L.
Amazing food seafood is the best ever in any pub I've been in and the steak is outstanding. It took me and my hubby to finish it lobster crab oysters scallops white bait they have it all and it all tastes amazing
R. B.
£6 for a pint is a bit much. And before someone tells me to get used to London prices, I live in Belsize Park and I don’t pay £6 a pint there, or in Hampstead or Kentish Town. Nice building though, and nice decor.
J. S.
Very good pub, nice outdoor area, friendly and efficient staff.
S. M.
Its fine for a drink, nice and big. Staff very friendly. Not amazing but good for a beer.
C. p.
Gorgeous interior with a rustic feeling. Attached to a chippy. Amazing staff who was Lways kind and welcoming. Outside seating was very nice and comfortable too
J. C.
This place is always empty . A victim to not much foot traffic. But the staff are great and the pints are cheap. Food could be better and cheaper
B. K.
Great pub atmosphere, excellent food, freshly updated spacious rooms. Best value for money in London!
O. E. W.
Friendly. I think, the chef is the owner. He can cook different cultural foods. English, African and Caribbean. Also Italian. Nice place, good music.
F. W.
Amazing pub staff are very friendly and food is 10/10, would definitely recommend you visiting.
A. W.
Good food!

Good haddock and lovely batter, terrible under cooked potato wedges instead of chips. Disappointing. Used to be really good, then got bad, had hoped for a return to form.

Good pub and lovely decor but would’ve been better if the garage music wasn’t blaring out so loud as found it a bit much for a weekday evening.
