Reviews of The Metropolitan Bar
T. B.
Great bar. Great space. Many years ago it was the lobby of London Transport when I came round for an interview. There are still many mementos left around with the me as many paintings on the walls and ceilngs.
It was a busy affair. Loads of people. The look outside is deceptive as the bar has a massive internal space. You go in and turn right. Great array of drinks are on show for the mixed crowd of customers
w. t.
4 stars for its location, service, atmosphere n beautiful interior building. As soo as u entered, u found it amazing Victorian style architecture building with red, white n golden colours. Served quickly by nice lady. Seems friendly staff but they chatting too much😝. Nice clean WetherSpoon which usually happened. Good security. Full pack floor. Atmosphere is beautiful. N so convenient location just next door of Baker Street Underground station. Centrally located in London city mean busy full time but good for a quick drink or bite.
A. S.
Good pub for quick meal or drinks with friends. Easy transport underground link. Right next to the Baker Street station.
M. D.
Great spot to stop for lunch! Beautiful building and good food! Appreciate Wetherspoons prices while here.
S. M.
A lovely, historic grand bar with beautiful features, conveniently located right next to Baker Street underground station. Great selection of food and drinks too, all budget-friendly. Plenty of seating throughout, however due to large customer numbers it is usually extremely busy - and therefore LOUD!! If you prefer a quieter ambience you'd do well to avoid Friday nights and weekends, particularly after 5pm, as finding a free table will be difficult!! Added bonus: The ladies bathroom! (You'll appreciate it once you see it.)
m. b.
Nice Wetherspoons pub near Marlybone. Staff friendly & helpful & free WiFi.
G. H.
A very spacious restaurant with lovely bathroom. Food very fresh and was great. However staff need to be more attentive to the two coffee machines if possible. I had consistent issues with both machines which was sorted after I called staff for help. Very polite team.
L. H.
Dropped in here last night on the way back to hotel from open air theatre . The place was manic at 2220 but got a pint of London pride and double Tanquery and tonic for less than a tenner. Well nearly - as the wife wanted a packet of crisps so another £1 had to be added!!
The drinks were excellent quality at great value in London and quickly served. Managed to get a seat near the main door away from the manic crowd - must be a lot better ambience when not at the end of the new working week🤔.
M.
Loved this place, great vibe, beautiful building, nice staff, well priced food and drink (especially for the Baker Street location) and fabulous toilets (with a sofa in) sounds like it could be awkward, but its very comfortable and clean. Just beware trying to exit via the mirror in the ladies toilets as myself and many others attempted the mirrored way out, which is quite easy to do even before an alcoholic drink.
B. e.
Standard Whetherspoons pretty much. It's good inside. Quite big and lots of little cubbies to sit in. Plenty of different choices of beer and cider on tap. Good choice of worldwide beers in the fridges too. Staff seem fine too. Not 5*s only because when searching the menu a lot of what they had they didn't actually have so a bit disappointing only really had one or two burgers to choose from. Other than that good place. Nice good location. 10 min walk from Oxford Street and the silly prices of pubs in that area so worth a quick trip. Plenty of room and would suspect they show football or live sport when it's on.
I. C.
A few of us came here to have some lunch, we went for the steaks and they were very nice as was the service, the people who were serving us were lovely. The prices are extremely reasonable considering how now the food is. I will definitely go back there.
A. P.
Great bar with good staff, great menu and lively atmosphere. Drink prices are very reasonable. Decor is also very good. No loud music and a clientele that is very relaxed and friendly.
M. K.
Really helpful and friendly staff, food here is tasty and there is an abundance of amazing ales and lagers for you to choose from. One of my favorite pubs in Central this 🙂👍
And yes indeed I'd love a complimentary free pint and meal of my choice thank you, Wetherspoons 🙂👍
B. S.
Plenty of choice for wines and beers both lager's and bitters, at reasonable prices.
Location next to Baker Street station, so good for food and drink before journey home, from a day in London either working or sightseeing.
L. D.
Place seemed really nice, but when I sat at a table, there was chewing gum left on the top of the table, despite this table having been cleared of glasses.
I had ordered food to this table. When it arrived, the portions seemed small compared to what I normally would have with that same meal at a Wetherspoons bar.
J. H.
Can't knock a tidy breakfast for 7 quid!
Only downside was my coffee cup hadn't been cleaned properly but otherwise tasty food, served hot and great value.
D. S.
Quite standard for a Whetherspoons. Good location next door to Madame Tussauds, and busy, but managed to get a table, and ordering through the app meant I didn't have to queue at the bar. The reason for 3 stars is that the menu felt more limited than other Spoons normally are, but more importantly there were some items on the menu which were clearly out of stock, and the app wouldn't let you order them, but then some items (the veggie nuggets and the halloumi style fries) it let you order them, but when you went to pay, it said they weren't available. I found this irritating. I went back to check, and they were still available in the app.
S. T.
This was my first visit, even though i’ve been to Baker St many times over the years. I love the Art Deco interior! I met a friend there but as it’s opposite a Uni campus it was full of students. Fair enough, was one myself, but it was as loud as an All Bar One, due to the architecture if you know what i’m talking about😆. Don’t get me wrong, we had a great night. The staff were fantastic and the food was great but I did drop one star as we had to shout at each other all night, even though it wasn’t rammed. A few well placed & painted sound absorbent panels would sort that out. Even so, we would meet there again no problem. Thank you for a great night!
R. B.
Very disappointed with only receiving half a coke when I bought a meal with a soft drink.
Also the curry and chip portins are extremely small. No help from staff all you get is that's what the portion is so basically tough.
P. F.
Situated in a beautiful building, the Metropolitan Bar offers a wide range of beers with really friendly staff and great table service. The door security staff are very friendly and professional.
J. D.
Standard soulless Wetherspoons. You know what you're getting breakfast wise so no complaints. Service was slow on this particular Sunday morning due to amount of people but when it arrived was decent
L. K.
Love a good Wetherspoons and this one definitely did not disappoint!! 😁
Has amazing character and original detail and the toilets were beaute! (once I'd hiked to them as usual😂)
We ate and drank there and everything was spot on, service was fab and love being able to order from the table especially when it's busy! Xx
K. H.
Table service with the app was quick, but they took a while delivering the food due to not knowing which table number. Not sure how that happenned but once they realised after I ask they got my food very quick
b. b.
The bar was very interesting but the serving staff were so unfriendly and basically sad. I have never see so many unhappy faces ever. No service, no eye contact.
J.
An excellent example of Weatherspoons. Unassuming exterior opens up to a large pillared Hall with the bar along one side and booths and windows along the other. Depending red, antique gold and white colour scheme adds to the grandeur of the place. No background music just the sound of voices. The food and drink selection is as you'd expect (check on line if you're not familiar with Weatherspoons) and prices are very reasonable for this area of London. There's no outside seating, but it's not gloomy dark inside. Excellent staff and quick service. The ladies' toilets are fabulous with excellent views out onto the road. Everything is clean and pretty well kept. My new favourite London Weatherspoons.
R. B.
Typical wetherspoon pub. Quick service and for London a friendly clientele. Unfortunately I did not eat here. So no comment possible on the food.
D. P.
I visited this pub after a cold day out in London. The first thing you notice is the size of the place.. its massive. Being a Wetherspoons the drink prices were very reasonable.. plus the tea and coffee were refillable. It was Curry Club Thursday so i had a Chicken Jalfrizi. It was wonderful and came with two poppidoms and a nan bread. I really enjoyed my first trip to this
N. A.
Food was excellent, can't fault it . Gents toilets out of order so a bit of a queue. All in all a good bar. The building is beautiful.
K. H.
Friendly staff, 'Spoon's prices, plenty of seating, well placed for a swift one before/after tube at Baker Street.
A. M.
QLWhat a lovely place to be in. A good choice of seating and food. Came in for a quick drink and watch part the footbal. Lift accessible to take wheelchair to 2 levels.
Security at door and inside with plastic cups for drinking. Not sure if its the norm or due to the big match showing.
F. C.
Great pub
Went there before a football game for breakfast and it was so good we ended up in there for dinner
S. M.
London tourist trap with madam Tussauds etc nearby. Over priced for a wetherspoons being almost double the price you can get a tube ride away. Good variety of real ales available got it to three stars. Shop around if you can
j. n.
Seemed really quite grand to be a Wetherspoons! Not that there’s anything wrong with Wetherspoons..they’re just amazing value! This one was no exception, the same good value! I love the way you gat free refills on tea and coffee now too!
J. T. C.
Good place to have some pints close to Baker st. Station. Service is kind, good variety of beers and a wide room with lots of seats. They have combos with food+drinks for pizzas, sandwiches and burgers everyday. The food is not amazing but the price is accordingly low.
Δ. Ν. Σ.
Omg, THE BEST PLACE IN LONDON!!! You should go there if you ever go to London! Sooo great and cheap, also big portions
P. A.
As good as any other spoons in terms of food and service, which is to say, it's good service and food. It's difficult to find a table, often, but that's expected given its location. Close to some London activities as well and next to a train station.
L. B.
Came here ahead of the Carabao Cup final. The spacious interior accommodated both sets of fans, and the light touch from security ensured a good and friendly atmosphere. Stocked with a decent set of beers pulled by efficient staff, it was a great location for a pre-game beer.
M. H.
Friendly atmosphere good food and a good selection of Ales and beer. And cheaper than most places in London
D. F.
Place is huge and therefore very noisy, but other than that, the food was good and beer selection also!
D. M.
Smashing building not too busy x
S. E.
Great spoons! Spacious😊... they recently installed booths for maximum cotch-up-comfort :) they have preserved the natural architectural beauty of the building... while still delivering incredibly competitive prices, range of food and drink and table service (if you download the wetherspoons app). Its one of my favourite wetherspoons .. it has charachter.
P. W.
Cheapish beer and great service.
Stop off here if you are going to a match at Wembley
W. C.
Great food! The workers were super nice and really friendly!
D. K.
Good value for money and a grand looking hall but very dated furniture and carpets. It's a weatherspoons so to be expected. Staff were nice.
A. d. A.
Great place to come and have a drink, or even eat. Their food is delicious and theyve got a wide range of classic pub food to even indian style. The prices are very good for the area. They also have an app, which means you womt even have to leave the table. The staff will bring you your orders. Tends to get quite busy during the evenings and finding a table might get hard.
f.
Lovely pub clean tidy staff are polite and friendly price up a bit from my local area but for this area OK as other pubs would be higher
L. B.
Beautiful location. All prizes are low. £1.60 for a coffee, refill is for free. Nice ambiance. Kind staff. Next to a metrostop. Tasty coffee!
R. B.
Great atmosphere, great staff, great food, great value!
R. S.
I do like this weatherspoons pub. The gents toilet is quite plush and also very clean it is also quite spacious
P. M.
Good service. Plenty of choice on food and tasty when arrived.
C. J.
It's always nice to spend some time with friends here. They've got a wide range of food and drinks.
B. T.
It's a semi self service restaurant. The price is unbeatable compared to the not so great offerings in the area. The food is quite good as portions are generous. Very spacious restaurant.
K. V.
We love this particular Wetherspoons. The food can be relied upon (not the same in other Wetherspoons it has to be said!). Good atmosphere. Clean.
L. M.
Excellent value for money you can't fault the food was delicious and the service was excellent too will be. going again very soon
A. B.
Quite a few things had run out on the menu but that might have only been a rare one off for several times have run out at the same time, and staff were good, plus baby changing facilities and high chairs.
M. G.
Classical english pub. You order via the Weatherspoon app, or you can go directly to the main bar for a drink. The food is reasonable priced and big portions. Even if you take a small fish and chips, it is enough - Yeah however depends how hungry you are 🙂
A. V.
Exactly what to expect from food in a pub. We enjoyed it and will return. Very easy to use their Application to order food and drinks ( didn't expect the food to be delivered so fast after ordering, I will always use the App)
W. T.
Friendly staff, clean and tidy. Good place to go
M. J.
Nice big bar good choice of beer good food menu all at reasonable prices.
M. M.
Very busy jd weather spoons always busy with tourists plus the food and drink r at a great price
A.
Was very busy not enough space for customers. I went to toilet and when i was back my chair was taken by some one. My friend said there was a spillage and cleaner moved my chair further while cleaning the floor and didn't put the chair back. Then someone else took my chair. 👎
K. B.
Beautiful characterful place, giving a taste of the past. Great value Wetherspoons now occupying the space. If you like grand surroundings and brilliant value food and drink this is the place for you right on the Marylebone Road near Baker Street and the famous Madame Tussaud’s.
D. G.
Good food & drinks usual spoons standard... Always reliable
D.
Great selection of real ales, not many seats though.
M. M.
Plenty of space inside and nice looking establishment. As ever with Whetherspoons good value food and drink, and plenty of variety. Thursday is Curry special; choice of curry's and a pint for £9.60 🍻😋
D. S.
I like this pub, it has a good vibe. The service is excellent and the choice of drinks is, as always in Wetherspoons, varied and reasonably priced.
a. m.
Great location and great prices. Usually very busy but service is still good.
P. L.
Very tasty open space. The food is right. Really affordable for London and for it's overall experience. Recommend
L. C.
Lovely place, a bit busy at times. Service friendly.
I. B.
Me and my wife have been coming here for the last 8 years when we visit London and have always found it a lovely place for a drink and a bite to eat. The location is ideal for us a we always use Marylebone station, we get off the train, jump on the tube get off baker Street and it's right next door. The food is always good and there's always a nice atmosphere and the staff are always very helpful.
N. o.
Very busy pub. Lots of young people working here. Was so shocked at the state of the kitchen area that was visable to the public. Ive never seen so many dirty glasses and plates. Put me off eating here.
K. D.
The food is good. Lovely atmosphere sometimes as well
M. O.
Great breakfast and a cracking good pint just what was needed to start a great day in London
A. M.
Always worth a visit. Excellent bilding well restored by Spoons. Usual great range of ales at amazing prices. Standard Spoons food at great prices. My only moan was no mayonnaise!!!
R. B.
Lication, staff, price and the ambiance,,,oh especially the ceilings! They're all perfect to wind up and chill out with mates
L. C.
A good price for London. Good food and fast service. Could do with a little love inside, but does the trick.
R. V.
Decent wetherspoons in Baker st
Great prices. Cold beer. Lots of staff
L. B.
Table service was excellent however the food was thrown together ,my salad looked like it had been ironed !
M. J.
British breakfast is the best thing about this pub! And just outside the bar there is a Sherlock Holmes statue.
m.
Great pub for a last pint before getting the late train home.
m. p.
Food good just need staff who speak the queens English would help
S. S.
Good pub, great place to kill time before travelling from Marylebone, which is five minutes away
C. W.
Quite busy as it was a Saturday night, but that still was no excuse not to have cleared the table when our food was brought up.
C. S.
Another great Spoons, stairway to the loos (which are near the front door). Tea with free refills, a big statue of Dr Watson’s flat-mate just down the road.
ostentatious interior 😊
C. D. m.
Staff was friendly and provided quick, efficient service. The food was enjoyable. I would definitely recommend trying.
M. W.
Large pub with fascinating period decorations and the usual good value Wetherspoons pub food.
T. L.
Typical wetherspoons, busy and speedy service but check you get all you ordered. Next to baker street station.
A. M. S. A. A.
This is a so elegant bar to have your food in. The atmosphere is really english old english houses atmosphere , it would make you feel you are actually eating at home. The staff are nice and helpful. This is the best and cheapest place to have your breakfast in , which I had twice there especially if your are going to visit madame tussauds london which is just one minute walk from the bar. I lost my mobile there and when i went back the staff had it safe for me. Tea and coffe at breakfast time just 1 pound and you can refill as many times as you want. I had to have the Vegetarian big breakfast which was delicious as they didn't have other halal options. I wish if they can add more halal options which would be great addition especially in a bar like this beside one of the most visited London's attractions where many people would love to have a halal options. Thank you Tim . Cheers x
Z. “. Y.
Recently been refurbished and it looks great, one of my favorite bars in London usually plenty of room with a good pub atmosphere the food is cheap and good range of drinks
S. A.
Capacious, beautiful and Victorian. Typical Wetherspoon's food and booze options.
R. h.
Went here with two of my son's for a breakfast on a Sunday, the day after watching the 100 Final at lords. Not busy and very spacious, especially after all the covid restrictions. Food was as to be expected from a Weatherspoons, god quality and tasty. The only grumble being the hastiness of the man taking our plates away hardly before we had finished. Especially as it wasn't that busy.
S. B.
Disappointing quality and prices for this Wetherspoons pub. Round in here cost more than it had in a normal London pub, and the pints were far from great and served in plastic. One to swerve at the weekends now football is back I would suggest
O. C.
Nice pub, but horrific London prices. Frightening when one is used to Wetherspoon's usual prices ... 🤣
A. M.
Standard Spoons menu but more expensive than outer London. Reasonable choice of real ale. It helps to use Wetherspoons App for quick service and to ensure you don't lose your table if you are by yourself.
A. S.
I called in to the Metropolitan Bar to avoid the football
They had security on the door who kindly opened it for me. They had a Track and Trace station but you had nowhere to glass your completed form
Limited cask beer selection with only one guest beer, which was drinkable. The major downside was that it was served in a plastic glass
The bar is attractive with high ceilings and is worth a visit but I will wait until the beer selection has improved and the plastic glasses are put back in the cupboard
S. M.
Very convenient location... Can't go wrong with a spoons
R. W.
Just the right place to see the Launch of "London Calling 2023" the Captials Geocaching Mega Event for 2023
D. P.
Good location staff are very welcoming and friendly a few minutes walk from madam tussards
P. S.
Tasty food, low prices and a stylish interior. A v rare combination in UK pubs sadly!
C. H.
Brilliant cheap food. Too bad the drinks are served in plastic cups, my sister spilt coke over the table which was also quite wobbly. Good think the staff gave her a new drink, and gave us tissues to clean it up.
S. B.
Had lunch here today, the surroundings are beautiful, super clean and the food was lovely!
j. k.
As always, Spoon's offer great food and drink at a fair price.
M. T.
Situated right next to Baker Street Station, spacious, food nice, fantastic prices for London x
J. R.
Large, convenient pub with a good selection of drinks at sensible prices.
S. F.
It's very pretty I side and it's a spoons so cheap and cheerful, nice friendly and helpful staff. Although can get quite packed guess that means get there early !
R. A.
Great bar, busy, good service, cheap prices
M. M.
Was ok, handy being next to the tube station. Had breakfast, but wasn't very warm.
S. P.
Great value food & drinks. Staff very pleasant. It was more crowded than we hoped but they still have screens between some of the tables.
R. W.
Security guard was best fun and dancer in there full respect 🙏
B.
A great find. Part of the Wetherspoons chain so not only are the prices decent for this part of London but you can order and pay using the Wetherspoons app, easy and convenient. The place was busy but not too busy and a seat at a table was soon found. A stones throw away from Madam Tussauds and slap bang next door to the underground station its ideally located.
J. O.
Beautiful restoration of the railway company director's meeting rooms by Wetherspoon. Lovely features and paintings etc. Food was good and fair priced for London. Will visit again soon.
l. b.
Good weatherspoons, foods decent as far as spoons grub goes. The pints are on point with friendly staff
P. W.
It's a wetherspoons .
Had a decent meal wirh a drink.
M. O.
Very nice pub.staff friendly great value for money since your in London. Good atmosphere and very clean.
s. f.
Another great Spoons!! Beautiful historical building with friendly staff.
I. T.
Lovely place! Good choice of beer for good price. Very delicios kitchen. I
S. M.
Amazing drinks, came in during the day and was surprised by the gin options. Love the quirky sayings all around as well
N. P.
Massive space. Could've been a little quicker but still good service
A. D.
Budget friendly food prices and tasty 🤤.
A. C.
Big bar very busy reasonable prices
R. M.
Clean pub with friendly staff. Had a slight issue with my drink but sorted without issue. Toilets were clean. Some of the items on the breakfast menu were out of stock which was a slight shame, but the food we did order was good.
S. K.
Really nice place, all I would say is staff could be quicker with picking up empty glasses and plates. I understand they were busy but nearer to closing time they were definitely more efficient 🤣
k. m.
Located next to Baker Street tube station and madam tussauds in a busy area of London.
Pub is always busy especially with tourists.
Pub is clean and tidy with plenty of staff serving.
Lots of choice on both food and drink menus and prices are very good by London standards.
Toilets are upstairs but there is a disabled toilet that can be used by asking staff for the key.
M. H.
Really good bar, well decorated with a beautiful interior. Good range of food and drinks at very reasonable prices considering you are on Baker Street. Service very efficient and staff very friendly.
R. B.
Good pint
Nice food and a nice space
t.
Lovely looking pub ,plenty of room to sit staff a bit vacant at times but nice enough, would go again been twice already every time I visit London.
M. S.
Staff are nice and friendly and food was excellent i had mixed grill hit the spot would well recommend to any one to go
D. K.
Right next to the tube station & madame tussauds so very convenient. Very nice pub, quick service, good food & friendly staff 😊
B.
Excellent value breakfasts. Great spacious pub.
K. L.
Visited before going to Lords cricket ground. Very convenient being next door to Baker Street underground station. Friendly staff and a great breakfast, would definitely recommend 🙂
P. B.
Good food and drink. Value for money.
S. S. (.
What a spoons! The decor here is still in its former glory of the old station house office cracking place which shakes as the trains pass underneath! Seats are a bit old and battered but service I's friendly and as you'd expect for a spoons.
Toilets are quite something -huge and overlook Baker Street through massive windows!
S. W.
Yeah great alcohol on offer . Gd prices
G. G.
A bit rough and food shortages again, not good when basics run out.
L.
Love this place, always quick service always pleasant staff. The food always hot and well presented.
k. 4.
Food was nice but the selection available wasn’t great
M. E.
Good for a pre-train pint before boarding at Marylebone. Wetherspoons prices even in London and quick service. Seemingly always busy.
B. F.
Perfect location for early breakfast en route to football at the might West Ham
K. M.
Rather clean spoons with decent prices for central London, although only takes cash
i. w.
Nice prices, staff and and good food service although their menu has been reduced and the prices have crept up a bit, they still offer fantastic value.
J. S.
Depending on the staff on site that day, you may have a nice meal or a major disappointment......
A. H.
Alot bigger than it looks from outside. Service on the app is quick.
A great place to stop for a pint or food and not pay London prices
D. D.
Very tidy, clean place to stop. Very open and ample space. The mixed grill probably best I've had in a while, if not ever. Service was very fast and staff are friendly and smiley. Only gripe I have is there was a lot of water on the plate from my peas, and they didn't ask how I wanted my steak, although it was cooked to perfection. Very underrated I'd say
L.
Overall experience - very efficient service and staff.
Huge pub with lots of choice of seating, even though it was a busy lunchtime. Great choice of food options at good prices.
Did not wait long at bar to place order, or for the food to arrive. Food was very good and decent portion. Staff were attentive and quickly cleared away finished plates.
s. m.
99p for free re fillable coffee, you have a good choice to. Haven't eaten there but the food I've seen looks well tasty.
Good atmosphere
M. D.
Good coffee. Friendly staff and good service.
D. G.
It's a very busy weatherspoons with not enough staff on the floor to keep it clear of used glasses and crockery. The staff were friendly and helpful tho, and the food was of a good standard for what was paid
F. V.
As a Wetherspoons it's great, the food was good, the place is clean, great service at times when it's not busy. Cleaner than a few other Wetherspoons I've been 👌😌🙌
S. R.
Decent food at reasonable prices and fast efficient service. Good for a quick bite.
C. A.
Very busy at Friday afternoon, but the staff was fast to delivery the orders and good environment
W. S.
Lunch out with friends. They were able to accommodate 12 at short notice. Food arrived very quickly with no errors. Bar staff were happy and friendly. No pressure to leave once we finished eating. Usual menu for a wetherspoons so for a meal and a drink on a budget it's worth doing. The building its self is worth a look.
L. “. G.
As far as wetherspoons go this is probably one of the better ones
W. !.
Reasonably priced beer in the middle of London, whats not to like?
P. J.
Ambience is super here. Staff good and helpful like the place.
f. i.
A little bit grubby but then it is used a lot and for some reason it smelt of cigarette smoke.
V. V. S.
You couldn't believe this was a weatherspoon. The interior is spectacular, staff is kind and chatty and food was lovely. Nice little pit-stop right next to the Baker Street station.
p. h.
Its a spoons but in london so prices seem even cheaper haha
J. F.
Service through the app is a little slow. Tables cleared of food slow.
K. R.
Fast service, nice staff, average wetherspoon pub, clean tables and loos
g.
My wife and I went Wednesday early evening and noticed that nearly all of the staff were very young people.
We could not believe the standard, quality and attentiveness of this wonderful team of youngsters.
We sat at table 28 and the table to the right of us was vacant but the staff, over a period of about 15 - 20 minutes, wiped cleaned this empty table at least 4 times. Constantly clearing and cleaning tables, removing empty glasses etc, these guys were absolutely customer focused.
I can't believe the quality and how conscientious they worked.
We cannot praise them enough, WELL DONE!
Manager, you should be so proud of them.
The food?
Nothing fancy but cheap, excellent pub grub... totally recommended by us.
Can't praise them enough .....10 out of 10 and well done 'Spoons!
T.
Your classic spoons. You know what your getting into. Service was slow though
M. T.
Cheap and good offer of meals and drinks. I really like it. The design is incredible, especially that's a former tube station.
g. g.
Most nicest door staff i have ever met , a credit to the pub. N Emily the bar lady made us feel v welcome. Cant go on bout door staff enough v v v good
M. C.
This is one of our favourite places to go when we visit London. Jump on the tube from Waterloo to go to the wax works and slip into The Metropolitan for a sneaky afternoon lunch with the girls. Plenty of tables and always clean with a respectful atmosphere keeping it family friendly. Pricing is perfect and doesn't cost the world for good quality food at a decent portion size. Having the ability to order via the mobile app makes it a breeze for single parents who don't want to take the kids to the bar or leave them unattended at a table. Service speed for both drinks and food ordered via the app is extremely prompt which makes it more encouraging to use the app. Staff are polite and approachable with any issues.
B. M.
Decent bar, fast service and ok food. You know what you get at this place, nothing fancy but its good for the price.
S. B.
Typical Wetherspoon.
Nice building, but not much of a view.
C. A.
It's a London Weatherspoons right next to Baker Street tube station. It doesn't look much from the outside but its absolutely beautiful inside, and very spacious at the present time due to social distancing measures. All very well organised as well at the moment. Food and drink are amazing value for a London pub. Highly recommended.
G. W.
5 stars would be perfection, something very hard to deliver. The beer was in good condition. The bar staff were able to help me choose a good single malt scotch for my party's final round. We did not have to shout at each other above any background music. All in all a pleasant way to round off an evening.
K. A.
Large portion of food. Good customer service.
M. A.
Definitely one of the better Wetherspoons. Nice and airy room. The rest is the same as in any Wetherspoons.
A. V.
Big spacious and quick service.
I ordered a coffee and breaky. Food came within 5 minutes and was good. Can't remember exactly what I had but was a fry up which came with coffee. Cost about 8 quid or so...pints were cheap too. Toilets clean enough.
Recommend as a good pub with cheap beer in the centre of London.
G. T.
Nice place with nice food, 2 burgers, fries and 2 pints of beer for 16 pounds, just amazing 😁
J. C.
We arrived around 6pm had our tea( evening meal) good service staff lovely ,generous portions and good value for money. Thank you
C. D.
Great place to eat and drink. Definitely worth a visit! :)
J. S.
Food was good the service wasn't great but got served quite quickly for wetherspoons
с. Ч.
Nice pab. Good service. But not everything is available from menu.
S. K.
I like this place. It's a typical pub in my understanding, with advanced ordering application btw. Amazing automation for ordering. If you in a mood when you don't want to talk too much it's a handy stuff. Anyway I like talking to real people and it works too. Enjoy your drink and side food. Really nice with stable quality. Thanks for that experience!
O. F.
Sat on top of Baker Street Station the Metropolitan bar is a fantastic venue to meet friends.
Lots of seating, not too loud and reliably cheap food and drink. It's Wetherspoons so you know the food isn't going to be restaurant standard but it's good enough.
Lovely atmosphere.
S. C.
Staff were amazing. Food arrived quickly. Only problem was when ordering at the bar it was quite slow
B. M.
Crowded for sure on Saturday lunch but not unexpected 😃
G. R.
Well priced, interesting drinks list. The staff seemed genuinely interested in the customer experience... I'd recommend.
J. S.
Wetherspoon's. The place looks awesome, and the prices are very favourable! The sweet potatoes-spinach-chickpeas curry was great, and it was served really fast!
M.
Good pub but service at the bar is horrible. Staff members seem to have gave up on life and make mistakes all the time with orders. With a change of staff at the bar it would be a much better place as it used to be 2 years ago. Waiters and runners are good nice and polite.
T. B.
Great pub in the heart of the city. Food and drinks have always been at a reasonable price for being in London. Been there a number of times with a large group and always been able to seat everyone. Can also order food and drinks through the wheatherspoons app!
K. D.
This has always been a decent spoons, in a nice building. Covid precautions are strong, and they've upped their table service game. It's much faster than it used to be when ordering on the app, and the staff are attentive.
J. M.
Nice big wetherspoons which is an OK walk from Marble Arch. Nice selection of beers on offer and quick service. Clean pub with plenty of seating and good atmosphere. If in area can't go wrong for lunch, dinner or a few scoops. Also next to Baker Street tube. Gets busy from 4pm and there isn't another spoons nearby.
T. C. P. T.
Great place to eat in London without London prices!! 😁👍
K. L.
Another excellent drink in one of my favourite pubs. Unfortunately the kitchens were closed on this occasion but there was the usual high standard of service from all the staff. A great place to socialise in the current covid world.
T. M.
Amazing atmosphere. Large, spacious rooms, drinks at great prices. Food was great, priced well. Directly next to the tube stop at Baker St, can't get any more convenient than that. Would definitely recommend anyone to stop in for a pint and some association.
G. R.
Very busy Wetherspoons but a lovely ex Railway Union Building with all their Crests on the ceiling! A massive Pub!
A. S. C.
This is a nice Wetherspoons in a nice area. Staff (apart from one. You know who you are) were friendly and efficient. My friend had one of their platters and said it was delicious. I nicked a couple chips off his plate and I can confirm they were cooked to perfection. Yum
D. N.
It couldn't be any closer to the Underground. Straight out of the pub and onto the train home. Good range of ales , lagers and Spoons food menu.
V. P.
Very nice. We saw Tim Martin visiting this pub while we were there!
K. R.
Staff were fab. Carried my husbands wheelchair up the stairs as the lift was broken. He was able to walk up the few stairs.
R. O.
Very popular and very good service in a very busy area of London
A. D. G.
A good pub with decent food. The prices are reasonable, though we were not very lucky with the servers. The ladies' toilet is beautiful and worth going up the stairs even if it is just to see the space.
S. G.
Love this wetherspoons. Good service, huge place with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, and in a good convenient location for an easy meet up.
G. C.
Very good prices and very good food! This is a nice place if you're looking for classic pub meals or a burger. That desserts are very good (especially the brownie) and the staff is really nice. We spent 21£ for two people and had a full, satisfying lunch.
b.
Huge pub nice lay out good food cheap drinks
B. A.
It's a Wetherspoons all much of a muchness however all staff were helpful and friendly fast service good food
P. W.
One of the best Wetherspoons in London. Inside the building has a lot of character. A bit pricey compared to the usual spoons but still much cheaper than the typical London pub. Extensive choice of well kept beer.
N. H.
Lovely place but service was very slow considerating how many staff versus customers. I've had quicker service in busier venues with less staff.
P. T.
Great location for a pub. It's a decent size so there's plenty of space to move around even at its peak. Frequently used by sports fans before heading to Wembley, normally there'll be door staff to monitor behaviour so it feels safe. Table service using the spoons app makes life easier.
I. M.
Great pub and everything one expect from a London boozer.
App makes ordering quick and efficient.
Stella artois was particularly juicy on my visit. Fish and chips served perfectly too.
Entertainment was family friendly; mad drunk lady arguing with the bouncers. No blood shed. Entirely PG.
G. T.
Very large restaurant with LOADS of seating in the Weatherspoon family.
Open early for breakfast or a coffee, so ideal place to chill while waiting for nearby attractions or shopping places to open.
Very interesting decor with loads of photo opportunities.
Friendly staff.
Good menu selection at fair prices.

Although this Wetherspoons pub might not have the same amazing low prices as their other pubs round the country, it does have a great interior and a sense of history throughout. Plenty of seating in both the main dining area and a few smaller sections mean it’s a good place for both couples and larger groups. Service from the large bar is a little slower than I’d hoped and the number of empty glasses across all the tables suggests they’re in desperate need of additional staff, and the tables could do with closer attention in terms of keeping them clean. However, it’s a nice spot to escape the noise and bustle of the street outside and if you’re a fan of what the chain offers then you’ll like it.
T. C.
Decent place to grab a drink and a dessert. It's surprisingly small in terms of seating capacity for a wetherspoons. Thought there would be a lot more. It was also really busy so make sure you're getting there early or late. My group got there at around 9pm on a Saturday and it was packed which is understandable.
Other than that it was a pretty standard place. The bar wasn't too busy so you could order a drink relatively easily.
B. D.
Nice Wetherspoon in a good location. Worth visiting.
S. P.
Typical Wetherspoons in an excellent location. Usually busy but big enough you can often find a corner. Lots of beer on offer at reasonable prices. Staff vary- some are helpful and knowledgeable. There are a few fruit machines, and the low tables have a school cafeteria aesthetic. Not really a pub, but you knew that
B. C.
Great JD Wetherspoons pub with interesting history being on the site of the original Metropolitan railway. JDW always delivers on consistency, good pub food, and competitive prices.
P. b.
Started off well food came within 10 mins, very nice, went up to get another drink and waited for fifteen mins to get served, couldn't wait so left. What was a let down was it wasn't busy, but the staff refuse to make eye contact, seem to serve people in the middle of the bar rather than the end, wasn't the only one waiting. Would have been nice to be acknowledged and told be with you soon, it goes a long way to settle customers.
R. s.
Busy but good service from nice staff.
A. M.
Standard moons pub only bigger than your sub urban type of moons pub. Prices vary from the outer London moons pubs, understandably.
Staff are polite and quick to serve.
I didn't eat so can't comment on the good.
Will revise my review if I get an opportunity to eat here.
A. A. M.
The usual weatherspoons set up.. if it's busy the breakfast can be hit or miss, but when it's quiet the food is very acceptable. Drinks reasonably priced fir the location. Clean, spacious, good atmosphere and timely bat and table service. I swear by a spoons brekky every Friday so I"d recommend all day.
S. C.
Standard weatherspoons all good food service all good
R. U.
Reasonably priced food and drinks 😀 I like the art deco design 😁
L.
You will not believe how big this place is until you step inside it but, don't think this is a hidden gem. It is definitely a gem but not a hidden one. This place is always packed, don't go expecting to find a place to sit. Food is well prepared and served very fast. I recommend going there for a pint as it likely is the best place in the whole area.
D. R. C.
You "get what's on the tin" but in a beautiful high ceiling room. Good selection of Ales and ciders. The food was as expected for a Wetherspoons (decent).
Location is perfect if heading from City to Wembley Stadium. Stop here, then pop on tube (less crowded than in stadium area).
The app works well if you wish table service for your drinks and food.
D. P.
Nice place to stop off during a nippy winter day. Mixed grill was good. Kids got drawing kits to keep busy for a bit. Friendly staff and very helpful in offering best value for money on drinks
j. c.
Quite a few of the beers not available, such as Pride.
My steak was cold when delivered. Staff dealt with it quickly but longer cooked to my requirements as it had been reheated.
Do like the room itself although since the refurb we now have fewer tables to sit and eat.
And you cant reserve a table.
G. S.
Love this bar....so evidently an ex cinema or theatre restored with TLC. This is one of the many great things about this brand....does great things with the history of a place.
Far more so than the usual brand makeover.
Ladies loos in particular a lovely space to sit and write keen reviews.
Always busy but never feels it in the service.
Always the right amount of staff to punters. Never bottlenecks at the bar and plenty of space for groups and families. Value for money on the British food also. Check out The Montague Pyke for similar experience.
B. C.
A lovely bar to hang with friends or chill on your own, excellent food at decent prices. Plenty of space with a choice of tables, sofas or stools. Unless you want to watch football with 100 other people I suggest you avoid it during those times, otherwise it's an ideal place to watch.
N. V.
Its s spoons!!! Decent, cheap food. Decent, cheap beer. Great place to get wankered before moving on to somewhere better.
D. H.
Probably the cheapest option in Central London and not bad food
R. B.
The usual Weatherspoon efficiency and quality with a good price to boot.
R. S.
One of the best witherspoons in london very quick service fantastic staff and lots of room and of course the variety of food and drink
P. C.
Very good Wetherspoons we all enjoyed our meals and drinks plenty of families there enjoying themselves.
E. V.
Stunning building and a toilet which is absolutely mind bending thanks to being in a curved room and the floor length mirrors. Staff were helpful and fairly well mannered. Sadly four of the beers I asked for were unavailable on this visit but I would happily visit again.
V. M.
Got a table quick but table wasnt clean. Waited a while I asked someone to clean it they never did I had to get someone from the bar to clean the table. Food came out quick, chicken was freezer burnt however, not very appealing. Customer service from the bartender was good the price wasnt too bad. Just didnt like waiting over half an hr for someone to clean my table.
C. T.
Visited this place whilst waiting for another place to open. We were pleasantly surprised upon entry as it is much larger and more beautiful than it looks from the outside. The menu is a standard wetherspoons menu, so nothing special there. The decor is amazing and very well kept. Can't really comment on the service as there were only a few people there at the time. However, I would recommend visiting just to admire the design and atmosphere.
A. T.
It's a Wetherspoons, so prices are cheap for central London and they have a good selection of real ales on tap. It's very spacious so there's usually somewhere to get a seat. Would definitely recommend for a pint if you are in the area!
J. C. P.
A big and spacious place above baker street station. Fully air conditioned and space for large groups. A great selection of ales larger and craft beers. An excellent selection of wines and Champaign. The staff are vigilant and quick to serve. Good selection of food on the menu with some that includes a drink in the price. If you aren't from the order and pay app you will get table service. I have used this many times here and always received my drink within 3 mins when quiet but can take a little time if busy. The only issue is the app doesn't show all the drinks on offer. Great customer service and o recommend this place highly.
N. B.
My family love this pub, conveniently next to Baker Street Station. Cheap and cheerful, lots of space and good valve food.
L. K.
Food was alright, however some items came out partly burnt. The place was generally messy. They seemed understaffed. Not as good as it was many years ago.
J. F. V.
Good one for the Wetherspoons family!
Expected service and food quality but the actual building is really good and you can't go wrong with drink prices here.
Good for drinks after work but if you want a table make sure you are not in a rush
J. O.
Great restoration of the Metropolitan Railway Directors Dining room by Wetherspoon. Usual fayre but not the worse for all that. Staff were friendly and attentive as far as they can be when there aren't really enough to cope at busy times. Will visit again when we're in the area.
t. p.
Good wetherspoon pub. Large lots of indoor seats. I've been many times. Service is normally fast. One time it took an hour to get my burger (they misdelivered my meal to another table) so the bought me a pint. Fair deal. It's a good cheap pub.
A. C.
Very quiet and beautiful place! The food is nice and delicious!
R. T.
Not to all tastes, busy, great beer !
L. B.
Great Weatherspoons. Service was so fast on the app, soon as we had paid out drinks were there and food followed 5 minds later
R. H. (.
Lovely place, was a saving grace when I needed a coffee on a cold morning! Food and drink served all day long. A stone throw distance from Baker street Underground station and co.ing here you'll get a warm welcome to a perfectly kept pub. Clean and tidy everywhere and even the toilets are sparkling! You dont get that in most places round London. Absolutely perfect. I have yet to try the food but it's a wetherspoons so you know it will be good pub grub.
C. K.
Really nice Weatherspoon bar.
M. K.
It is a Spoons. You get what you pay for...
The price/ quality ratio is hard to beat. If you order a 5 quid steak expect to get get a 5 quid steak. And compared to other system gastronomy.... I'd rather have my breakfast at a Spoons then any other chain.
K. I.
Good pub with good food and drinks
H. J.
For central London it is cheap and cheerful. Usually pretty busy so finding a table can be hard sometimes. If you get a seat, use the Wetherspoons app to order so nobody takes your seat while you order at the bar!
j. g.
Good food staff very friendly
L. B.
Nice bar close go the underground. Good Covid rules in place and helpful staff to explain them. But make sure you load the app to order before you visit, as it saves time on the day.

To who wishes to read,
We met up with a group of friends in the met bar and had a great time with fine drink and excellent food all of the staff were brilliant but a special mention should go to Fiona and shadae who's customer service is outstanding.
Also a big thank you to the chefs and kitchen team, I had the lamb shank which was perfect and would put to shame many a highly recommended establishment.
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!
We look forward to seeing you soon
F. O.
Great place to go for a beer and some food. Their drinks are very cheap. The food is decent. Its usually a little loud and rowdy here. because of the cheap drinks, the location next to Baker Street, and the atmosphere, people like to come here to really have fun and let loose. Unfortunately I have had bad experiences with multiple staff workers here. About half the staff seem to really hate their job. Anyways, I've been here many nights, usually to start the night.
S. (. S.
It's an old favourite. Relaxed slightly shabby but very comfortable. A bit dark. Good loos. Foods ok if you're hungry. I had jacket potato with cheese & mushrooms. Filled the gap!! Help yourself tea. Nextvtime in London I'll be there again no doubt.
R. C. T.
Decent for a cheap drink or meal. The toilets were very nice but rather far away. I wasn't keen on the frosted glass cubicle doors which made you see the outlines of people waiting for the loo outside.
p. b.
A very nice interior with plenty of history of the Baker Street Underground on the walls. One or two pieces of abstract art, too.
Service was efficient and pleasant. Food was okay
A. D.
Great place. Good choice of drinks and a lot of space.
J. E.
Good quality and great value food and drink and plenty of seating. Food produced quickly and was tasty and enjoyable. My first visit but it ent be my last. Interesting Metropolitan Railway crests on the ceiling as this was originally the Chiltern Court Dining Room in the 1920s.
A. P.
Excellent interior and extensive range of beers on tap. Good is good although the service could be better. Your food trends to go for a wander around the pub before making it to your table.
J. C.
It served the purpose of of a family get together to eat, but the place doesn't have much ambiance, felt a bit for the staff...
S. S.
This is most convenient for me and my colleagues for a evening drink. This is in the same building as Baker Street station. I am a vegetarian and their chips and curry was tasty. Drinks are economical and serves most brands. Their Whetherspoon app works well and helped us during a 3 hour session recently.
G. P.
Typical pub style run by Wetherspoon's chain
I like its big interiors with high ceilings and old decoration. I like their tap IPA's at affordable prices and their staff who was friendly and helpful. Big space in different levels and clean toilets.
I don't like their food, definitely not worth it, and the lack of identity
It can get very crowded after working hours specially Fridays and weekends, so finding a seated spot might be difficult
Note: during our stay, some guys next table where making trouble. Its some security guys in the pub and they handle the situation in a peaceful way
U. S.
Just outside Baker street station this lovely bar and restaurant offers the typical english pub atmosphere. Great food and drinks selection. Excellent service. The decor and lighting are very well designed to create a welcoming look.
R. S.
Food was served quickly considering this is London on a Saturday. Good vegan options. Security visible. Plastic glasses for drinks a bit cheap but understandable. However, I prefer my Guinness on a real glass.
P. D.
Huge and busy Wetherspoon's. Recently refurbished in a handsome old railway building. Great value Gin, Whiskey, Bourbon and Rum for a central location. Good range of all spirits. Staff a little pushed, but friendly.
c.
Nice place but the political scene leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Knowing the boss wants to ram his views down my throat doesn't help the enjoyment factor but the surroundings make up for some of the disappointment. You sort of feel your supporting racism with every chip you eat and I don't get that elsewhere.
A. G.
Great place for a drink and something to eat after a day out, before getting the train home
M. P.
Typically good value at a Wetherspoons. Despite being in central London the venue was spacious with plenty of staff working. Food and drinks delivered to my table with amazing speed and accuracy. As always great value for money.
G. S.
As a Wetherspoons, I have no surprise with the menu, prices and quality, for me good enough. Excellent location, plenty of room and tables. The service was very good, despite I have been in a off-peak time.
There is no much carpet at the floor, that's good to help with the usual bad smell present at the others Wetherspoons.
M. S.
Such a big noisy lively pub with great atmosphere and really fast bar service. It's a huge big room with high ceilings and a loud atmosphere.. perfect for Madame Tussauds and right now to the tube station at Baker Street.
Y. G.
Good food here (01-jul-2015)
S. E. A. S. M.
Beautiful place, nice atmosphere a food was really good, team was nice and warm..
r. t.
The cookie dough was very doughie, maybe 20 more seconds in microwave, otherwise a very nice meal
S.
It’s a Wetherspoon’s, so the drinks are a reasonable price. The coffee was a machine and not that good. It’s a very large single room , loud and busy. There’re some nice original Art Deco features including in the Ladies.
V. S.
A traditional English pub with victorian style ambience at Baker Street, the home of Madame Tussauds and Sherlock Holmes. The service is great along with some finger licking food options and a wide variety of craft beer, ales and ciders. A big thumbs up for the place, service, food and Liquor 👍
J. K.
Large, spacious bar that's well managed and provides a safe environment to enjoy food and drink with friends and family.
A. G.
Great place, never too busy but wide range of quality ales and good food. Fish and chips surprisingly good and obviously freshly battered for only £7.99.
I actually met my wife here so a little biased (in favour I should add).
D. T.
Have previously avoided this bar after experiences of poor and extremely slow service however was pleasantly surprised on this visit. Every round was served by a friendly smile and relatively quickly despite being during rush hour! Not sure if they've changed something... maybe new management? But what ever it is seems to be working. Other then that your standard great value Wetherspoons!
A. G.
Good, well located Wetherspoons (right next to Baker Street station) with a lot of seating. Large range of drinks on offer. Food is good and well priced. The interior is really nice.
I. H.
Typical weatherspoons, fast and efficient!
T. F.
Just what you would expect from a Weatherspoons, reasonably priced food and drink. The decor is a bit different, heraldic crests on the ceiling. It's a large pub with a high ceiling with makes it quite airy and not too echoey. A long bar with lots of staff serving. Always quite full but never have to wait too long to get served and can usually find a table which makes this an ideal pub to visit in a group. As you would expect from this area it's mainly by tourists so is a nice pub to take children.

A great historic building. Used to be the ticket office for Baker St. Enjoyed wondering what it must of looked like with all the commuters over a pint of cold lager. Lovely.
R. S.
Love this place, lots of space to get all your friends and their friends together, regardless how big is your group this place will accomodate, great food on offer for lunch dinner all through the week. Reasonably priced drinks friendly staff and customers are usually a friendly bunch too... facilities are clean most of the time..
L. W.
Always go here for meals on outings to London, few mins from a tube stop, very reasonable prices hence why it is always busy. Ladies toilets are amazing lovely seating area and mirrors.
T. T.
A large and spacious pub and restaurant with table and booth seating. The furnishings in the venue is a little tattered in some places but the customer service is nevertheless excellent.
K. R.
Large interior makes it noisey
A. R.
A lovely refurbished pub. Just like any other wetherspoons in terms of the menu but the decor indoors is really good - very British.
It's also adjacent to Baker Street which makes it ideal. Can be busy during the weekends but which pub in London isn't 😁😂
B. V.
Excellent food, excellent service, great prices and food deals, friendly waiters, extremely easy access from Baker Station. The only real downside I can really think of is the lack of space during busy weekends. Mind you, I'm talking about a 200-ish seats place being full to the brim.
P. M.
Standard Wetherspoons, cheap food and drinks. Staff were friendly and service was quick and efficient.
T.
I didn’t choose to love @jdwetherspoons : it was @wetherspoons that chose to love me: consistently outstanding food, drinks and most importantly - superior service. Why would I go anywhere else while in #england #Britain? This place is the tops for #breakfast #lunch and #dinner. I love the company so much I bought shares in it. Which, unamazingly have done very well! 🙌🏻♥️👌🏻👍🏻☕️🌎 staff have been lovely here as they are by default at every Wetherspoons. I can only dream to have them opening up in America and Australia 😍🙏🏻
L. N.
Its great! A really interesting place, good food for a low wetherspoons price, staff attentive and it is so tidy a venue i actually found myself saying 'you could have a wedding reception in here!'.
A. P.
Love the Metropolitan old railway colour scheme in this place as well as the usual good Wetherspoons service and value for money.
J. L.
A good regular spoons experience. Lots of seating, usual food menu, bit more expensive than outside London (over 6 quid for coffee and brkfast) but that's the way it is!. Liked the waitress with the Jordy accent ;)
J. B.
I like this place. Cheap and lively in the evening a good place to take friends
M. M.
An old Metropolitan lines station waiting room and offices converted into a modern pub with excellent food. Good real ales, pub food with all kinds of English style dishes. Spacious, nice and close to the station.
R. M.
At the moment, is one of my favorite Wetherspoon
H. C.
Good booze, slow staff
F. P.
I like this pub. Good service, foods good, cheap, nice building about what you expect from spoons. But a bit dirtier than what I've come to expect from weatherspoons. Nothing major just sticky tables and fruit flies everywhere. The flies are the annoying thing. And what made me write this, it's been good up to now.
G. c.
Typical Wethersoons. Cheap and cheerful. Food was served very quickly.
Major downfall disabled toilets were unavailable. No notice to say this on entry. Only toilets were up a large flight of stairs and not accessible in a wheelchair
M. M.
Walked in, found a table and ordered food and drinks, easy as that. Apart from items were missing on the plate from the menu, but could you get anyones attention.??? NO. No chance of a check back either.
J. E.
It is a Wetherspoon pub, so not too expensive. Stylish pub with theme taken from Metropolitan Line, given proximity to Baker Street. Busy at around 5-6 but then calms down. Overall experience was good.
w. h.
Lovely place in the heart of London.. huge seating area, spacious and comfortable..family friendly. Exciting place to stop on travels around town! Food reasonably tasty and wholesome..many meals offer an inclusive drink..oh and toilets like a posh hotel..thankyou moons!!

We have been here several times with my friends and I can say we were engaged with the place. It is on the exact place where a Bar existed 100 years ago and it has a lot of pictures about that age.
The location is excellent, it is exactly next to the exit of the Underground & in front of the Sherlock Statue.
The menu contains standard Wetherspoon's offers: Chicken, Rib, Burger & Fish n Chips. They are serving breakfast until 12 each day.

Great food, fantastic service and the lager was cold. 5 stars. Don't enter jJ moon in Wembley central service terrible tables filthy 10 minutes in queue to order, sat by staff door watching staff going out for cigarettes and returning with lit cigarettes into kitchen.

Very nice pub, good beer, and food at a very good price.
The service was excellent too.
It's been refurbished now, and what a great job they've done of it too. A lovely comfortable J.D.Wetherspoon's, spacious, exceptionally clean, smart tidy excellently uniformed staff, and a super selection of real ales.

Nice bar, good food ,fast service great staff.

I popped in for a beer knowing there would be a good selection of ales intending to check Google for places to eat. As I quenched my thirst I saw a stream of delicious looking food being delivered to tables around me. I took the plunge and was not disappointed. Good value traditional pub food

More of a touristy wetherspoons than usual. Offers a good range of beers although the prices can be high. Food is acceptable but can be a bit hit and miss. There are lots of tables although it is often extremely busy so don't count on getting one.

Standard Wetherspoon pub so usual food menu. I had the mixed grill and the steak came exactly as I wanted. Good range of cask ales with 6 taps and all of a good quality. This is right next to the Baker Street underground station so is easy to get to. Visited midweek and even at 10pm, this place was very busy and finding a table was difficult. Staff were polite and friendly. The pub itself is large and of the usual Wetherspoon quality.

nice interior and decent place to have a drink...

There for a private function. Staff were courteous at all times, even when the Manager explained why I couldn't enter immediately when I arrived early. I wish more Managers could offer similar courtesy.

Staff were really friendly, plus polite, always go there when in London , take buisness visitors to the pub who say food is great and atmosphere is really nice . Well done to all the staff , mainly the littel barmaid apoligies don't know her name has a few tattoos but works hard .

My favourite pub in old days in London. Close to everything.

Just another great weatherspoons pub.

Recently refurbished, a process which did not much change the rather gloomy ambience of this large space. What happened to the stained glass? The main attraction is its location on top of Baker Street station and next to Mde Tussauds and 221b. The beer is generally good, though prices have gone up, the food is good enough and service levels have been raised. It can get very busy and noisy, especially on Friday evenings but, overall, well worth frequenting.

It was nice and friendly, a bit slow to serve. Just the place to stop and have a drink, we didn't eat there.

It's an ordinary Wetherspoons in a great location, but it can get extremely crowded any day, from as early as 2 pm. Since they are not always counting how many people are inside, sometimes it can get quite claustrophobic.

Cheapest English Breakfast you can get, but tastes just as good as your £10,- hotel version. Tea and coffee unlimited refills. ❤️

Large and attractively set out Wetherspoons, handily placed for the tube home. Very busy even on a Thursday evening, but fast and efficient service. Surprised some curries had run out by 8.30.

Really good place to take a rest. Tasty food and great drinks. You will be surprised with low prices. And of course ideal location. Poppin in there everytime I'm at Oxford Street or Regent's Park.

Standard Wetherspoons place, in a magnificent space (old Metropolitan Line headquarters). Super busy early / mid evening. Has door guards checking age id on entry (for those not obviously old enough!).
M. E.
A great pub with chracter. Friendly bar staff and reasonable prices re drinks and food. Where else in central London can you get a curry with wine or beer included for £8??
T. K.
Safe, clean, a bit smelly (carpet as in most pubs), good food as for Wetherspoon standards. It's spacious and brings different feeling than most places in London. Has got its own character.
A. S.
Nice building which is full of character. Cosy seating and quick service. Recommended for a more reasonably priced meal in London
m. k.
Wetherspoon always know what you get here
C. C.
Huge (even cavernous) Wetherspoon's pub next to Baker St station. Lots of seating. Massive range of beers and great value. My pint of lime and soda was a mere 80p.

Good quality for the price. It won't be the pub/bar with the best ambience, but they will get you drunk with their prices. The whole wetherspoon chain is a good place to spend your evening

Good Wetherspoons stuff. I'd love to hate the big corporate but they get it so right. Great service, a great selection of reasonably priced and well-kept beers, ok food and good service. Plenty of seats and tables make it a brilliant place to catch up with friends and chat without loud music or tv.
Please screw it up now and again so I can hate you.

Great place to pop in for a quick drink or two the staff are very friendly and nice thank you 😊

Nice and clean, really nice bathroom, service was a little slow but it was busy and staff were nice
R. W.
Lovely building and great location, next to Borough market. It was expensive which was expected but the wonderful open plan building was awful for acoustics and hearing my partner was an issue and it wasnt particularly busy.

One of favourite drinking holes, in London. The service is always good and the food is quite good, too. It can get busy, but I have never had to wait too long, to be served.
J. A. S.
Typical british pub/ wetherspoons with this a nice decor- was extremely busy due to it being after work but service was quick and friendly. Good for drinks and food at reasonable prices with very good beer selection - there is something for everyone
P. G.
Great value for money, good pub food and plenty of choice. Directly next to the Baker St underground.
M. A.
Large pub, good service, great evening

A place I visit when meeting up with friends after work on a fairly ad hoc basis. Always friendly helpful staff, a good range of drinks / food, and very competitive pricing for London. Always busy so others must think the same.

I am writing this review as a comparison between the Metropolitan Bar Wetherspoons in Baker street and the Golden Cross Hotel Bromsgrove Weatherspoons. Weatherpoons are not 5 star and do they claim to be. but compared to the Golden Cross the Metropolitan Bar gets five stars.
The bar was full in the Metropolitan and we were served within 2 minutes all the staff were helpful and the tables were clean. No dirty glasses and no dirty tables. In comparison the Golden Cross when quiet can be very difficult to get served. When busy it is sometimes not even possible to be served. Also in the Golden Cross at busy times it is rare to find a clean table. The Golden Cross is no longer the cheapest place to eat or drink In Bromsgrove. It is also worth paying the extra to eat elsewhere. The Metropolitan Bar at a guess is one of the cheaper places to eat and drink in this area of London. Hence, our many visits on our stay. The prices at the Metropolitan Bar are much more expensive than Bromsgrove nearly four pounds more expensive to buy a round. I drink in the Golden Cross regularly but no longer eat in there with exception to the occasional breakfast which has to have strict instructions not to give me stale eggs. I hope both of these pubs respect my comments

Perfect location for meeting up in london then heading elsewhere due to being right next to Baker St station. Lots of choice for food and drinks plus you can download an app for table service. Nice and big so getting a seat is quite easy.
J. R.
A nice large Weatherspoons near Baker Street Station, beautiful art work on the walls. Really big ladies toilets. Food was good, used the Weatherspoons app and food arrived within 10 mins of ordering.

Lovely bar. Great staff. Fantastic food x

Nice surroundings very large pub, right next to Baker Street tube station. Food cooked nice and average meal price £12, coffee buy 1 and refills free.
J.
Great location, affordable prices, very spacious, OK food, a bit dark but I supposed that is normal for a pub. I like the prompt service and the crowd is fine today not too busy as on Friday
R. W.
OK bar with a buzzing atmosphere can be a little bit packed staff are polite but seems to be young and a bit inexperienced but they try. Drinks and food on the expensive side but I've been to worse places

A blindingly brilliant star in the night sky of Marylebone

Nice informal place. We're a family with 2 kids and it was easy to find something to eat for the kids other than burgers. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice prices. Good food.

Excellent service, very helpful staff, I will definitely be using the metropolitan whenever I can. Highly recommend.
