Reviews of The Moon Under Water
N. M.
Wide range of beer and food. A must visit in Hounslow.
Much cheaper than other Bar, restaurants n Beer Gardens.
You can actually taste the local beer before you buy. Let me tell you they are awesome 👍.
O. M.
Great location, food is good and prices are very reasonable, good beer and service is fast. You can order directly on the bar or using the restaurant web page and paying with PayPal (very efficient by the way).
Is usually busy but you don't wait much to get a table.
V. S.
Prices great (your typical Wetherspoons!). The service was very quick. Easy to use the app to order. The portion sizes were good, however food could've been a little hotter. Really enjoyed our breakfast here though.
K. L.
Love a good wetherspoons! Food was great, child friendly menu and bargain prices - what more could you ask for! It was quite busy but still found room for the buggy and didn't have to wait forever for our food to arrive. Would definitely go back. Friendlier service would have got 5 stars.
T. H.
We've been here couple weeks ago ... food taste nice, prices are good, only half of menu was unavailable at about 1pm....
Would say - a good but basic pub
C. D.
Solid Wetherspoons, me and a friend visited for food and a whiskey, The Carling was very clean but the whiskey choices were a bit on the poor side. Nice seating outside which left us with a nice view of Leicester Sqaure.
M. S.
4 stars for the fact that I had, probably, my cheapest pint in London that I can remember?!
It would have been 3 due to the lady behind the bar not understanding my Dad's request for a 'white coffee'.... Not sure why it was so confusing to sort out a coffee and a bit of milk, but anyway?
Good for a pre/post beer (or black coffee 😉) if you are going to the Coliseum!
J. S. M.
Had q great jacket potato with cheese and beans with salad. A great place to have that. I also had the mini cookie dough with ice cream.
I would say a excellent meal but a large plate for a tiny dessert Hahaha I would go again 😋
J. P.
Have used this pub/restaurant frequently when in London. Good variety of beers and a varied menu. My burger meal was nice but my wife's ham, egg and chips very disappointing with what appeared to be cheap, thinly sliced ham. Previously she had very nice, thickly sliced ham. Will use this place again in the future but will carefully select what we order.
S. W.
Visited with my daughter before a show. Used the app to order and pay. You don't even have to have it downloaded on your phone, there's a scan code on the table! Service quick, staff friendly and efficient. Great food and good portion sizes.
S. Y.
Great fun wetherspoons pub in the heart of Leicester square. Cheapest pints in the area, standard spoons menu including all British classics and of course the curries as well. Lively and loud atmosphere with a generally friendly crowd and helpful barstaff. Great place for a cheap pint in the centre..
i. a.
Went in for quick drink and something to eat. Got drinks across the bar. Ordered food using their app. Service was quick and slight mistake in the food delivered was rectified immediately. Very happy overall.
P. L. (.
This is a 'new' version of the Spoons pub, once near to Trafalgar Square. I have to say, it's not a good change. Very tired, not at all welcoming. I certainly didn't fancy eating here after visiting the toilets. I know they rarely cook in the loo, but if the level of cleanliness is anything to go by, then I pass. Sorry, won't be back.
M. M.
As ever, great Wetherspoons menu and good value. First time I've used the App which worked very well with swift service and easy payment via PayPal. The Wetherspoons brand provides an unbeatable formula for good value food and drink.
If you're hungry I recommend the Large Mixed Grill, comes with a pint of your choice all for £12.95.
Inside and outside seating at this venue
S. A.
The pub is pretty good, fast in service and the food is tasty. We have ordered chicken wings, chips and onion rings ..all are super good. Glad we are able to catch a place outdoor on the sunny evening 😊
R. L.
Nice selection of real ales, lagers & ciders. Wifey enjoyed her Chardonnay.
We had meals, wifey a burger & chips, & myself a very nice chicken breast in a roll & a side bowl of salad.
We would recommend this establishment if your in the Leicester Square area.
H. C.
Perfect environment. Enjoyed a nice pint, didn’t have a meal but the local sharing my table said everything is always delicious. UPDATE came back had dinner. It was delicious! And it was ready quickly despite being rather busy on a holiday weekend. Staff was just as sweet as the first night. Like I said great atmosphere and great beer. Cool history of the name too for any bookworms out there ☺️in a nice area too!
V. K.
It was ok. Food tasted good however it was served quite cold. Decent pub vibes although staff looked a bit..."tired".
M. A.
Has to queue to get in as it's so busy but staff great. Food ok but 1st night I ordered a burger & chips & that's all i got on my plate, no side salad or garden peas. Went there again on night 3 & ordered a steak with jacket potato, once again no side salad or garden peas. Plate was a bit lacking.
A. J.
The pub based at Leicester Square is pretty good and service is super quick. The food is tasty and even they have great price. They also have a wide variety of lagers and beers. There is a QRcode available on the table through which you can scan and get the menu. Super convenient. It does have a really good vibe and nice ambience. Really enjoyed it. Will recommend and will come back soon.
K. G.
Typical Wetherspoon pub in a great location right on Leicester Square. Always buzzing, good service and great value meal and drink options.
d.
A very decent 'spoons this one. Nice and bright and clean, attentive and friendly staff with the usual standard of decent ale at affordable prices that is standard for all Wetherspoons. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
L. L.
Nice food and quick service.. pretty decent for London prices too.. always busy
S. F.
Typical Spoons in an up market location. Usual good service but a bit higher prices. Close to tube. Good start and finish point for theatre goers in Leicester Square
r. d.
Really busy pub, had to queue to go in, but it was a Saturday night. Location is perfect, Leicester Square, so everything is nearby.
Nice food and well organised staff who were totally on it and in control.
C. C.
Very busy and closely packed. Food was nice. Staff seemed few & overwhelmed so tables were messy from left behind food
S. H.
Good old wetherspoons....went in @ 10.45am as it was freezing cold & raining & had already had my coffee limit for the day. It was heaving. Had a few drinks. The toilets are not a long walk away either which was a lovely surpeise🤣
R. V.
I had a nice classic burger whit soft drink for Las than £7 !
C. R.
Went here yesterday nearly all the stuff was sold out. I did find something I liked but food come out cold and very burnt. Chips where hard as rocks to and it was not just my food my friend who had a different meal had some problems.
G. T.
Busy, good service and cheap compared to many other local places to eat. Definitely will go to this one again when visiting London with the family.
I. H.
Really surprised how well the social distancing measures have been implemented, only downside is I couldn't use the app, however the staff were absolutely amazing in helping us to get served.
M. T.
Affordable place to eat and drink in the centre of London. Clean and tidy on the day of my visit and helpful staff.
M. W.
There's nothing like a good Wetherspoons. A good place to sit down and refresh. Busy, but good. I'll be back!
R. V.
Very nice pub. Very busy when we got there and had to que for about 5 mins. The guy on the door soon got tables for everyone be it inside our put. We opted for outside as it was a hot sunny day. Toilets were very clean and staff very friendly
C. C.
Cheap and cheerful Wetherspoons! Food was lovely! We had Quorn nugget wrap, and chicken and sweet chilli wrap with drinks. Both were lovely! Staff were accommodating and very efficient, cleaning tables etc before the next person 😊
D. S.
A very busy pub, food is good and reasonable price. Many options missing of menu but nice regardless
B. S.
Nice Spoons in a great location. We waited a long time for breakfast and it was busy in there. However, for the price and the convenience, it definitely can't be beaten
T. T.
Was nice enough but went for breakfast twice as 2 mins walk from the Travel Lodge and both times food not very warm. Staff were nice enough a quiet pub.
M. C.
We visited late on in the evening. It's a wetherspoons. Not a lot more to say. The ale was good and service was quick enough for a busy weekend evening.
D. R.
In the current climate, you have to wait for a table to be admitted. Once seated, there are perspex dividers between all tables for your safety. You can order via your table or approach the bar and order. Usual fair prices, albeit a little dearer as it is a central London pub.
F. D. L. V.
Typical weathrspoons fayre .
As many weatherspoons at the moment they did not have a full range of food which is so disappointing especially when you are trying to feed a child and there is only one option.
Come on sort this please .
Good location in leciester Square and has some outside tables plus many inside.
J. S.
Hungry. Garfunkels gone in leicester square so shot in here. Usual stuff from this chain. Deep fried and cheap. No bloody puds for kids and not told lot on menu was done. Not happy.
M. B.
Our local Wethy's, popped in for a couple of breakfasts, which were fine TBF.
Table's could be cleaner and the carpet...
Staff okay, but, Covid rules need to be applied more please, it's not rocket science!
G. R.
Right in the middle of Liechester Square lots of choices on Ales and all types of drinks. Wetherspoons food menu is a bit limited from other Wetherspoons. Friendly staff.
R. C.
Typical Wetherspoons pub in Leicester Square, dies get quite busy.
J. W.
Crowded and smaller than most Wetherspoons but still a good pint and friendly staff.Nice seating area out front if you wanna watch London go by.Well worth a visit!!!!!
M. U.
Can get busy but it is a spoons in the middle of Leicester Square....Good atmosphere..Great for pre cinema drinks
D. L.
Very friendly staff, only drank here but enjoyed it non the less! Great atmosphere very busy but there are dividers for anyone with hygiene concerns
A.
Vastly cheaper than other pubs in the surrounding area. And with really fast table service (using the app) + the food is as good as the other main pub franchises.
A. J.
We had a really nice curry and dessert here on Thursday. The service was great....big shout out to Terry who was superb!
K. L.
Usually meet my friends here, fast service busy place. Dont mistake this wetherspoons with the other ones on the app!!! Made the mistake Twice
B.
Located next to the famous Odeon at Leicester Square, this Wetherspoons is a great place to go for food or drink, prices are not atmospheric by the usual standards of other pubs. Great choice of drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Food is superb and staff are cool, calm, welcoming and friendly
C.
Great breakfast, no pints until 10am though, no good when queuing 3 days for trainers, suppose it was Leicester Square like
G. B.
Five stars from my side for humble staff, delicious beer at such a reasonably priced. I got Hop house pint draught mug for just 4.5 I think! Nice crowd with both inside and outside seating area.
A. R.
Wetherspoon as always my favorite pub. Nice and newly added drinks always at reasonable prices. Love it.
A. A.
Nice wetherspoons located in Leicester Square. Good selection of drinks and food.
J. W.
Lovely food and rosé wine
V. B.
Another best of JD Wetherspoon at busy Leicester Square. Small and cost place with good drink and good options. Busy on weekends due to tourist crowd but still good option with reasonable price. Staff are friendly and service is quick as well. Recommended....
D. J.
Great service, good selection of drinks at reasonable prices compared to most bars in Central London
I. G.
Very expensive, limited selection of drinks, small and often very busy so hard to find a table. We had to wait 20 minutes before we were seated and this on a Friday afternoon.
L. A. M.
It's across the Leicester Square! (That today is nicely decorated for Christmas) Seems to be always crowded! But the bartenders got you right! The beers are so great, and the public who goes there is nice and warmful! Always willing to share the table with you!
b. m.
Nice restaurant plus bar place although we juss ate the food it was good the staff are great
M. M.
Had a very nice time with family and friends, very friendly staff and welcomed, will most definitely be visiting again.
D. B.
Very busy pub . Staff friendly great location .
M. G.
Very nice waiters and food. Definitely recommend to my friends
J. F.
Leicester Square. Dear for weatherspoons but it is the heart ❤ of London. The Security guard nothing gets pass him so felt safe.
D. C.
Slightly above average Wetherspoons. Great breakfast!
B. B.
They do an empire meal burger chips 1 beer the burger is big and tasty for a good price
J. W.
Great place in the middle of the West End. Food great, prices great, service great . People having to queue to get in . Very popular place.
C. D.
A Weatherspoon like any others, good prices for what you get even in London. We had to wait a bit for a table but the staff was nice and very assertive.
M. T. M.
Great place for good food and cheap drinks.
C. B.
Cheapest eats and drinks in Leicester Square. If not London. Pristine clean, genuinely impressed with that. Few items of food out of stock, according to the app, but not the end of the world.
K. O.
Ordered food and drinks on a busy weekend. Quick service and food was excellent.
G. W.
Bar has a good selection of beers but interior needs a good painting as lots of area's worn and run down on walls and furniture
O. F.
Penultimate. Number 19
E. R.
Quite a bit of waiting as the pub is a bit less spacious than its counterparts. The staff were brilliant at their job and the service was quick. Would recommend this pub if you are in the Leicester square region.
S. W.
A small pub in lecister square, but well worth a visit if your in the area.
D. C.
Good ale and food at reasonable prices considering it's in Leicester Square
R. B.
Its Wetherspoon's, whats not to like. Cheap beer, good cheap food. Only drawback is that they're not allowed to sell alcohol before midday on sundays
R. G.
Lovely freindly cheap pub chain nice food and cold beers spot on thanks all.
L. C.
Good priced food and drink while in the middle of everything. Great if on a budget.
G. g.
Served quick gets very busy theatre goers quick grab a seat
S. B.
Busy, bustling Christmas atmosphere. Great range of low priced drinks
J. B.
Always busy. The bar was fairly clean and the staff we fairly helpful
M. K.
Great bar to start your night off good staff
D. G.
Typical Wetherspoons in the heart of London. No music no TV and no atmosphere.
D. C.
Table not wiped before we were seated, staff rushed off their feet. Food was fine. Busy venue.
A. G. P.
Very traditional looking pub among all the shops and craziness. Local bar food and a nice selection of drinks and local ales. They have some cool tunes in the background too. The staff is lovely and make the place even better.
D. M.
Good size portions and unlimited hot beverages can't complain personally for the price you pay 👍
s. S.
Preety small and does get crowded and none of the normal spoons offers but still good prices.
M. G.
Best service wetherspoons I have been in and I travel for work regularly top draw
D. L.
A nice spoons. A little bit more expensive than others but it's central London 🤷
J. L. W.
Friendly very quick service even though busy.
Nice atmosphere.
L. C.
Nice pub if you fancy a pint and a easy meal.
Staff were helpful.
P. H.
Very busy on arrival, app was struggling! Food was cancelled for an hour as so busy. But always had good meals here. Staff cleared up quickly, even though they were busy
J. B.
Lovely pub in the heart of London with very reasonable prices 👍
D. C.
Lovely cocktails... Worth a try especially during 2 for 1...
D. H.
You want just want a cheap pint in Leicester Square, then this is the place.
m. h.
Busy pub, classic atmosphere decent pint reasonably priced! Will revisit!
C. L.
Overall, a great experience. The door staff were the highlight of the few visits, friendly, informative and kind. The food was good for a wetherspoons and although slightly pricier still reasonable for the location. Accessible seating and toilets and quick service. What let's it down is rude serving staff and the delay in cracking down on drunk and aggressive people. Apart from that would definitely recommend.
D. B.
This is a pub in the heart of London’s Entertainment centre. A typical Wetherspoons pub offering typical pub chain food and drink at reasonable prices. Not brilliant but not bad either, it is a bit “Goldilocks”. Great place to meet up and springboard on to something else.
J. E.
Very small but in the heart of West end. good for cheap drinks tables so close not much room between tables to get out.
Z. E.
Just like your typical Wetherspoons, fast service, good food and decent value. It wasn’t too busy at the time of my visit around 5pm and us continently located off Leicester Square so very easy to get to if you are in the City Centre.
M. G.
Nice pub.Classic English breakfast and Fish and Chips + beers 🍻
p.s good brownie, too
P. T.
Too busy, had to queue in the rain, okay once inside, food as expected, service great.
P. P.
Best pub in town good food and the beer 🍺 spot on
A.
The Moon under Water is Wetherspoon pub. Everything is very delicious and the food and beer are affordable. There is application for android where you can see where is the nearest pub to your current location. Also, you can see menu, order food and drinks and pay using application. It is very good becouse it can be very crowded and it is very hard to get to the bar 😄
A. R.
Wow, a Wetherspoon's where you don't have to wipe your feet on the way out and you can put a newspaper on the table without it sticking like glue. Unusually for a Wetherspoon's, the clientele didn't look like the cast of the Thriller video. Staff were friendly and helpful and food and drinks good for the price. Easy ordering on the app with quick service. If only they were all as good as this one.
L. S.
Love the atmosphere. Affordable food.
G. D.
Nice friendly place very very busy. Nice food.
A. V.
Great wetherspoons. Food is good and staff are friendly.
M. A.
Great Spoons.

R. K.
Standard whetherspoons in a great locations, good drink selection, staff very friendly
R. R. R.
The Food and Drink was lovely.
The pub was lovely and clean and staff was so friendly. Would def go back there.
L. S.
Popped in for bfast on Tuesday and Thursday. The service was incredibly fast. A major shout out to the manager on Tuesday morning, he delivered our complete service to a high standard.
M. M.
Nice restaurant/bar and also fair prices, especially for London! The food was also awesome.
J. J.
Geat pint under a fiver & lovely views of Leicester Square.
B. R.
Decent food and cocktails at reasonable prices.
L. A. M.
It's across the Leicester Square! (That today is nicely decorated for Christmas) Seems to be always crowded! But the bartenders got you right! The beers are so great, and the public who goes there is nice and warmful! Always willing to share the table with you!
M. C.
A reasonable priced place to eat in the centre of London, The Witherspoon breakfast Legendary.
N. D.
Busy pub with reasonable prices & friendly staff.
m.
Nice pub, city prices though
s. S.
Preety small and does get crowded and none of the normal spoons offers but still good prices.
S. C.
Should be two seats not three on the high tables, so uncomfortable, but good service.
N. B.
Nice place as you'd expect a spoons to be.
Good service
N. D.
Busy pub with reasonable prices & friendly staff.
M. C.
In Leicester Square so went to a traditional Wetherspoons as you know what you are getting.
Had to wait but good service and nice food
M. H.
Waited a while for a table but typical Wetherspoons with the exception of the loos being on ground level #result
C. J.
Very surprised to find a Witherspoon's in Leicester square ,beer and food a bit more expensive than normal, but for central London great value,,and a good view from inside or outside
J. M.
Food was served relatively quick. I ordered the mixed grill with a drink, the food was only luke warm.
P. H.
Nice pub what you expect from Witherspoon's. Enjoyed the meal will go back
G. H.
Friendly and helpful staff, nice food and beer.
k. t.
Some of the staff can be quite standoffish but the lady with the blue shirt and the soft peach blonde hair was so lovely! She really made up for the rest and went above and beyond for us, making extra effort to ensure our needs were met. The pricing in here is slightly above average for wetherspoons, but it's still good for central prices.
S. Ż.
Great pub located in Leicester square. Prices are really good and the service offered was amazing.
S. C.
Should be two seats not three on the high tables, so uncomfortable, but good service.
G. W.
Great location, good service and better standards than some of the Wetherspoons that I've been in. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that they've bumped up their prices according to the location, £2 a pint more than in Greenwich for the same pint means that it's not really Spoon's prices for me
D. G.
Thank you. You made us feel welcome and looked after for our stop in for a quick bite to eat.
R. A.
Small venue for a wetherspoons sometimes one person on a table of four.
J. F. w. F.
Lovely place. Lovely staff. Reasonable prices for Leicester Square
b. e.
Fantastic staff great food loved it
A. B.
Great big breakfast at super price. Social distancing observed. Worth a visit. Good choice of beers and lagers.
k. b.
Weather spoons prices in Leicester square. Perfect
D. H.
Great pub, always go when in London.food always good
M. N.
Very good pub in China Town, London.
Nice music, drinks and food. Friendly atmosphere.
The only negative is the man collecting money in the toilet.
M. L.
We had a lovely time in here, brilliant staf
C. B.
Good range of beers and lots of seats/tables
C. S.
Second time visiting here and again great food and at a good price. Despite being busy, it didn't take long to be served either 😊
Only minus is that my ale was served in a plastic glass.
T. H. R.
Quick service but the pub wasn't very helpful as we had two groups of six and fair enough we had to sit on two different tables but the management were being funny when we wanted to sit in two booths next to each other.
U. S.
Nice and friendly no seating available so I asked a gentleman sitting on his own if we could join him on his table he readily agreed then randomly just started talking with another couple who comes to see a show on the other table staff of friendly love as well.
M. R.
Great place to eat - food is lovely, staff very friendly, service fast even in the busy times. Will be back 😁
R. H.
Loved the whole experience, the December weather was mild and the Christmas market in Leicester Square was in full swing. I downed a pint while looking for a table, so ordered another and a steak. I sat outside with Liz and it was magical, inside was busy and had a great atmosphere too. Helpful and friendly staff, great prices. A great pub experience all round.
M. D.
Nice enough pub, food was fine
T. P.
Downloaded app at a table and then ordered food and drinks that were delivered direct to table. very good system. I have missed English beer and it was worth popping in for a quick pint and a lunchtime snack. We were lucky to get a seat as it is a busy place around lunchtime.
K. Z.
Great pub. Fast costumers service. Good choice of drinks and food.
K. C.
Clean and super quick service and portions were great sizing and value for money in the heart of one of Londons quaint areas
E. D.
Went twice in our stay. Perfectly central and can't beat a traditional English fry up
c. j.
Good Wetherspoons right by Leicester Square great for the Xmas Market
M. C.
Great service great food and very helpful staff.
b. d.
Nice location good service and you can sit outside only problem small space outside so it's taken up by the smokers
L. T.
Reasonable prices and good atmosphere - I generally love the Weatherspoons chain. This branch had lovely, friendly staff, very helpful. Some of the other branches have bad acoustics where I can hardly hear my partner talk. The Moon under the Water was not noisy even though it was packed. Food was great, lamb shank and mini ham, egg and chips. With the inevitable delicious chocolate brownie and ice cream.
T. C.
Love that there's a spoons in the middle of Leicester square. Normal prices too save some pennies. Pic from the seats out front.
A. D. P.
Good place to cool off with a drink and eat whatever you want among so many options. The young blond man at the entrance very friendly and helpful.
M. C.
Complete nightmare using the app to order but very helpful staff.
Toilets were not very clean.
Atmosphere - dinghy
P. G.
Popular little pub typical weatherspoons reasonable prices for location
J. J.
I don't think if go back to this place in a hurry. Its not a terrible weatherspoons, but it's not the best either, and that's mainly down to the atmosphere. The food was good, but the tables were really close together and the waitress we had was a bit rude and unprofessional. Of course, you're not going to weatherspoons for a slap up meal and silver service, but we went to a nicer pub just round the corner after, and wish we'd have just gone there in the first place
m.
Nice pub, city prices though
E. P.
Nice atmosphere and cheaper prices for drinks
K. P.
Typical spoons pub, good beer and gin for good prices.
I did see a female member of staff taking extra care of a blind couple that had come in to have dinner and a drink before the rest of the day. Was very impressed by her
p.
Good ‘Spoons pub this. A little bit more pricey than the usual outlets but only because of its central London location. Good service at the bar. There is sometimes long waiting times for seating though as the pub is very narrow. Good outside seating and nice in the summer.
C. A.
Easy to find cooked breakfast 😋
D. H.
Great food as always..well done social distancing and the gentleman on the door was an asset to the company!
A. S.
Only had a beer at good price in the heart of Leicester Square ! Very popular eating place !!
G. G.
Too busy for me in this Wetherspoons, with cramped conditions and I found the ordering app wouldn't work properly.
C. T.
Great time please visit this place it's lovely and friendly staff make you feel welcome
M. J.
Standard Wetherspoons with regards to drinks and the menu. Great selection of Real Ales, quick service, staff were friendly some of which were laughing and joking among themselves, which is always good to see and adds to the atmosphere. A really enjoyable visit, thank you, I will be back.
R. H.
great atmosphere, lovely staff and fantastic service, always value for money in a Wetherspoons to say this was central London.. thank you from a Yorkshire gal on tour xx
G. B.
Covid 19 is excellent. Food was good. Staff friendly and helpful. Hoping to visit again in July after challenge cup final.
R. D.
Lovely food. Had two meals and two drinks for under £20.
D. C.
Very quick service. Screened off tables and pleasant ambience. Excellent location and value for money
N. B.
Nice place as you'd expect a spoons to be.
Good service
V. T.
The bar staff were not very friendly, it seemed like they just wanted to get me out of the way as soon as possible. They have several food menus at the bar, having a vegetarian with me they were quite excited when they found a vegetarian menu with a wide variety of choices, when they went to make their order they were disappointed being told that only the items in the main menu were served.
The burger I ordered was a bit dry and overcooked, however it was edible and despite the amount of people in the bar the food came out quickly.
S. m.
Great pub. Lots of staff, drinks straight away, even order from your table on the app. Busy, serves food. Right on the square. Google maps struggle to find clear directions. Use satellite. Cheapest pub about. Good selection of beers.
M. M.
Chilli Dosa, coconut chutney and doll
M. C.
Well priced food and friendly staff
B. R.
The Moon Under Water is a rather cramped and busy 'spoons, though it has been spaced out well during COVID. Queues are long, but it is worth the wait for cheap beer, spirits and 'substantial meals'.
The atmosphere isn't the best, though perhaps that is because this is the most 'bar' like 'spoons I have been to.
I would personally take a three minute walk to the Montagu Pyke for a better experience, though be mindful the Moon Under Water still gets the job done and is not bad.
M. W.
Busy on the morning we went, however, staff were great and breakfast was spot on
J. H.
Gets very busy. You'll be lucky to get a table. Despite this you normally get served within a reasonable time. Staff seem to be good at remembering who's next. Food is generally good. Reasonably priced for central London, certainly less expensive than surrounding places!
A. D. S. J. B.
Busy little spot where people spill over from one table to the next. Nice, if you like people in your personal space and dangling from your eyelashes when you're holding a conversation. I do, so I'm right at home here. Great venue for pre- or post-theatre drinks 💞
L. R.
I only gave this pub 4 stars because we went to it on Saturday evening so it was very crowded and we had to sit out in the cold.
They had a nice selection of real ales and a really nice dark ale/porter.
The building is long and thin with the bar taking up about half the area. It is next to the Odean Cinema in Leicester Square.
N. C.
Visited back in October before the second lockdown.
It's a 'spoons so you get exactly what they advertise - even during the pandemic.
Cheap as chips which is always pleasant when in the heart of London..
D. H.
Food was good, service quick and professional. Only bad part.... Couldn't understand why the decent burgers stop being served past 6pm yet you can still get the standard ones.
S. R.
It is a Spoons! The reasons we chose this Pub for breakfast: 1. We have the app. 2. We know what we want. 3. We needed to be quick. Staff are polite, there is usually somewhere to sit, even in Leicester Square we received the expected service. Dont go here if you want something out of the ordinary, dont go here for a new experience, but I would almost go so far as to say I trust Spoons to deliver to their standard - and therefore my expectation is met.
N. S.
Alright pub, especially considering the location. Fine variety of beers, if nothing particularly interesting, and prices not as gouging as one might expect. Open quite early, which along with the outdoor seating makes it a great summer option. A bit crowded, though not in a good atmosphere way, and the service can take much longer than you expect. A very nice touch is the consistent use of the correctly branded pint glass based on what beer you've got
C. F. K.
Nice pub, great location in centre of Leicester square. Bee service is fast even though the pub was very busy. If you have the app you can order drinks/food delivered to your table so no need to even queue at the bar.
S. D.
Great atmosphere, excellent location in Leicester Square, and a good meal. Just what we needed.
j. m.
London pub with very reasonably priced food and drinks
J. v.
Great service and attentive staff however very small and limited menu.
S. t.
Smallish but reliable and pleasant staff running around seemingly smiling . They didn't collide (with each other or customers) which suggested dexterity and demonstrated spacial awareness before disappearing into the back to wait for the next time.
Other customers consisted of Americans, Londoners, northerners and a dubious looking stubbly pair of fellows from Mancherster , or somewhere, probably - one of whom looked like he was hiding something or things under a patchwork quilt. The other was trying to get the manager's attention by smiles , gestures and knowing looks, but he was having non of it. Full credit.
I was expecting more from the pub' s name if I'm honest. I didn't see the moon and they didn't have so much as a pond to look at , let alone get in . I left at around 10:15 , reasonably satisfied and dry .
W. W.
Exceptional value for money considering the location. Loved the refillable coffee- that's a great touch!!! Staff very pleasant and helpful. My partner wanted a tea. The lady behind the bar cheerfully used the new water boiler because it was a higher temperature than the coffee machine so would make a better brew. Nice personal touch. Will most definitely visit again whenever I'm in London.
C.
A super cool spoons! Little bit of a creepy barman (I think manager) who was wearing a camera on the night of 23/11/19, not the older one with grey hair but the slightly younger one. Kept touching a female member of bar staff on the shoulder which was odd. Otherwise though, a great spoons!
M. T.
Nice little pub in middle of Leicester Sq. Would def go again.
B. M.
Fast and amazing service, staff are very friendly found this an amazing place to have breakfast and lunch would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants affordable priced food and drink
O. B.
It's a weatherspoons in the center of London, so it's far from the best pub experience in the area. It's cheap drinks/food in a great location though, so you can't knock it for that!
I would reccomend getting the weatherspoons app beforehand... If it's busy, app ordering makes all the difference!
N. S.
great place, cold beer and the lasagna is wonderful!
A. 1.
A Wetherspoons. A cheap eat in Central London. Quick service and great beer.
R. G.
Top Wetherspoon in the best imaginable location. Prices are a bit more than Wetherspoon average. But it's what we expect in this location. Service is really fast and excellent.
I've been here many many times...
G. K.
Nice pub with the typical Wetherspoons vintage atmosphere. I found reading about its origins from a George Orwell article incredibly interesting, so any literary fans should consider visiting if they're near by.
The seating we had was quite small and limited in room, but overall the staff were friendly, receptive and timely.
E. S.
Normally visit The Moon Under Water in Leicester Square, while working in the area for breakfast. Very quick service at breakfast time, but gets rammed out in the evening, especially at weekends. But there are usually plenty of bar staff on so you get served reasonably quickly. So all good!
H. M.
Love Wetherspoons Always reasonable prices The only downside is the size of the pub. It is in a very busy area so you have to understand space &crowds. Nice atmosphere though .
F. F.
Cheapest pub in Leicester Square! Nice atmosphere.. friendly staff!
D. G.
Not too busy in app order no problems
P. L.
Excellent breakfast and fast service
B. C.
Me and my mates came here on as part of a pub crawl over London. This was the most crowded pub off all we visited in my view. It took a good half hour to get some seats. Despite the crowd the service was reasonably fast so credit where it was due. They were very nice too.
B. W.
Great spoons you know what your going to get
A. V.
Nice pub although extremely crowded but the food arrives very quickly. It’s very rude the way that they try to get rid of you and pick up your plates/bottles once they see they’re empty without asking so that they can sit someone else. Unacceptable and makes you feel not welcome.
L. K.
Really fast service, great location, perfectly cooked steak and chicken in buttermilk burgers, great drinks. Excellent visit
S. J.
Nice location in Leicester Square part of the Wetherspoons chain very busy when we were there.
b. g.
Smallest Weatherspoons I've been too. Long and narrow inside with no room to breathe. Being that it's right on Leicester Square means it's busy so finding a seat is tough. Food menu is a lot smaller than most other Spoon's I've been to. Saying that, it's a Spoon's so the food is decent as is the beer. Prepare to pay more for your food and drink though as it is central London.
p. s.
Amazingly helpful Staff and reasonably priced for Leicester Square.
Ф. М. (. M.
Great pub, just next to the cinema and casinos. Has an option to order using the app and be served without leaving the table. For some reason all guest ales and drinks from the two were not available in the app. Good if you are on the budget, but like to eat good and tasty food. If you are ordering burgers, don't forget to specify not to overcook your meat patty, otherwise you'll end up with dry burger. Interior is lovely and has a touch of Great British romance of 1920s.
A. B.
Nice and cheap pub on Leicester Square
A. H.
Very Very busy food was good
L. R. T.
The standard weatherspoons experience in a great location. Perfect on a summers day for a cheaper pint stood out on Leicester Square! Staff are friendly & great given how manic it can get in there! You won’t have to wait that long for a drink.
L. W.
Nice environment for a wetherspoons, and great variety of things to do around the pub due to its location. But prices are at £4.50 a pint, so if you're looking for cheaper prices you would need to go further away from the centre of London.
M. C.
Very busy. Difficult to find a table for food at 4.30pm. The head on pints is excessive but bar is so busy it's difficult to complain so they get away with it
J. M.
Came in late on a Friday and it was very busy but we were served quickly and even found a table tucked away.
Lively atmosphere made up mostly of tourists.
A nice place to stop of for a drink that's not too pricey.
Been before, will go again!
L. S.
Good vibes just a little outdated and tatty
D. S.
It was very busy on a Saturday night, as you'd expect with its prime location. However, bar service was only a minute or two wait, and when we ordered food it came very quickly! Maybe 7/8 minutes between ordering and it arriving. Very impressed!
Needless to say that, as a Wetherspoon, great value for money was had by all!
C. A.
Great value for a London pub, awesome selection of ales. And as for food, it's the usual 'spoons menu and specials, which are amazing value(as most come with a drink) but never going to blow you away. But they fill you up so who cares!
F. B.
Central to Leicester square & piccadilly.
Ordered Vegetarian burger & chips, nachos to start & fruit platter to finish off. All very nice, good portions.
Atmosphere very busy & loud but it was a Saturday around 5pm. Our stopping place to eat when visiting London.
t. l.
Good food. Best to download the app to order. Table service paying cash takes forever.
G. C.
Friendly staff even though this is in such a tourist spot. I had the lamb shank n it was lovely n very hot. In three days in London think it was my best meal
P. R.
Very friendly and helpful staff and really good food for the price.
A. C.
It's a spoons in central London so it's more expensive then your average spoons fair enough overheads must be staggering in its location. Problem with that is it robs it of one of spoons most endearing qualities that it normally is cheaper by a mile here it's only a little cheaper then the other pubs so have a drink here but dont be afraid to pub crawl
K. W.
Another nice Wetherspoons pub, what's not to like?!
G. A. T. f.
Don't even remember going here so must have been a good night
B. C.
It's a Wetherspoons you can't go wrong
P. T.
Cheapest prices in the west end and good quality beer and good service
b. g.
Not bad for London shame there's not more weatherspoons in the city
G. W.
I know Wetherspoons always gets a bad rap for dark pubs with bad food, but I have to say that I've been here for breakfast several times since 2010 and it's always been very good. Staff are always helpful when l mention my nut allergy and it seems that some of the staff have been there for years, which is a good reflection on at least this branch as an employer. Yes it's dark, but l think it suits the place quite well!
G. C.
Very frendly staff and well presented nice food. Next to the Odeon
K. B.
The service and food was good. But the person clearing the tables were a wee bit too quick. I had just taken my last mouth full and my wife was still eating when my plate was whipped away from me.
C. K.
It's just a standard spoons. Great to have in a such an expensive area. Bar staff are very friendly . They used to have a problem with bag theft but have installed bag hook things to keep your bag safe
J. S.
Standard Wetherspoons, cheap (for london) drinks, fast service and clean toilets, staff a bit abrupt but nothing to ruin your visit.
M. M. F.
Nice pint.
Surprised we got a seat indoors due to the weather but we did.
c. k.
Nice location. Covid measures in place. Only downside was the team member who served us. Dumped my drink on the table so hard that my drink jumped out and he left us with a puddle on the table but no apology. Rude!
D. L.
Went for a food and drinks combo but staff charged extra for a more expensive pint..
Told the manager and another pint was given when I finished my last.
Food was tasty and served speedily.
No problems just the bill mix up which was the staffs mistake.
Would go back again if i was in the area.
J. J.
Great outdoor seating with nice view of Leicester Square. Decent beer.
P. D.
Good place to socialise and attracts the largest crowds in Leicester Square. Good buzzing ambience and attractive range of alcohols and beers. A pint of beer costs £3.8 so much cheaper than the other pubs around. But more than the price the atmosphere is what attracts crowds here
T. “. H.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. They'd be happy to tailor your breakfast needs. My only gripe is that the eggs aren't nice and runny as it is slightly overcooked and hard yolk. It's only a matter of personal preference but generally, the place is nice to have some breakfast.
T.
Situated in the heart of Leicester Square this pub has an amalgamated mix of Londoners and tourists.
It's big inside and can accommodate a huge number of guests, this makes seating arrangements a little tight, you have to have negotiation skills to manoeuvre and shuffle to get to a table.
There is an outdoor drinking area whic is reasonably sized, from there you can soak up the atmosphere of Leicester Square.
The decor inside is that of a typical British pub, staff are friendl. Drinks are reasonably priced. I cannot comment on fppd as I did not eat there. Overall atmosphere - ok.
I would appreciate a thumbs up if you found this review helpful. Thank you 😊
o.
Friendly service and the manageress looked after me. I enjoyed my steak. Good food in this pub .
k. h. (.
friendly environment, really efficient bar staff, it was a sat night so was extremely crowed, I managed to get served within 5mins. The drinks were very reasonable considering its location.
The only area I would suggest for improvement would to possibly add more seating inside.
J. S.
Very cheap pub for drinks and food (weatherspoons), obviously rare in central London. Busy, not pretentious atmosphere, bit of a cramped feel inside (outside tables available if the weather is ok). Good for a couple, not sure would want to spend a whole evening there!
J. W.
Bog standard spoons (Weatherspoons), cheap drinks, sticky tables
R. H.
Busy .. but food well cooked and and arrived quickly. Prices are good . What's not to like .
C. D.
Good for cheap beer in Leicester Square
T. Y.
Good breakfast and great selection of beer. Excellent location.
A. B.
Excellent full breakfast and low cost. Setting allows good social distancing. Pleasant atmosphere.
C. K.
Located in Leicester Square so a great location to start your day. We visited on a Saturday morning and was already busy by 10am but we walked straight to the bar to order food and there was no queue. Typical of a weatherspoons inside. Plenty of seating and drinks and food. I had a bacon sandwich but sadly had to leave it as it was sooo greasy. I don't usually mins but the bacon tasted awful. But the rest of the meals looked fairly good so can't be too harsh. The big full breakfasts looked nice. Service was fairly quick. My breakfast was unlucky but I'd happily try here again as the prices are good for city center of London. Breakfast id recommend a full English as they looked nice and hearty.
A.
Great pub, kept clean and tidy considering its right in the tourist route. Great service considering how busy it gets. Small seating area out the front. Bit more expensive than usual spoons.
J. E.
I regularly take breakfast here on trips via Central London. Have lunched a few times. It's always good but can get very busy at peak times. Nice front outdoor space overlooking Leicester Square.
v. k.
Nice pub in the heart of london.
D. K.
Decent food and in a very convenient place on Leicester square. There are much better places around but nothing even close in terms of price. Food, drinks and service all of a decent enough quality but ultimately it's still just a wetherspoons pub albeit a bit smaller than most!
R. C.
A Wetherspoons pub. We often use Wetherspoons pubs and they are always very popular, but sometimes too popular! On this visit we struggled to get a seat in this large pub, so go prepared to wait a bit and have the Wetherspoons App ready on your phone. Sit at your table and order your meal or drinks from there using the App, it will save you a lot of time! Food and drinks are delivered to your table faster than you can get to the bar! Enjoy!
и. с.
All wetherapoon pubs are good. I usually expect lots of elderly people drinking. But this one was full of families and young people. The food was made really fast and it's delicious.
S. B.
Hard to get seated if there is a large group so we had to spread across 2 tables. Bar was very busy but that was no issue once we started using the table service app which was really efficient, it was quicker then queuing up at the bar
M. M.
A reasonable first stop when entering the West End. The beer is good and you find the odd celebrity in there as the Global broadcasting offices are directly overhead. I was in there earlier and had a coffee. It's refillable for a mere £1.60.
A raucous crowd was sitting at the tables near the front windows.
A few football fans it seemed.
But you expect that in a place like this. Mixed families, tourists (or tourii), using the plural, and a few diehard regulars. It's a mixed bar. Never been any trouble there for the years I've stopped off there and had a refresher. Recommended. Just chill and go with the flow.
S. V. K.
So you don't my mistake, this place does not offer pitchers on cocktails.... Abit annoying because everything is already pricing due it being Central
A. M.
Typically good Wetherspoons prices, nice staff and a great variety of drinks and meals. A little too cramped and noisy but the awesome Leicester square location has that price to pay.
C. P.
I was really surprised visiting this Weatherspoons pub at Leicester Square this afternoon. I've been to many different Weatherspoons pubs in my time but this one stood out above the rest. With it being an extremely busy and rainy Saturday I found that all of the pubs nearby in central London were jam-packed. I figured that my best bet would just be to find my nearest Weatherspoons where I could at least know they had a good choice of alcohol for us to chose from. When I got there it was naturally extremely busy but we were lucky enough to grab a table. We were expecting to queue for ages to get a drink given how we were packed in the pub like sardines however, unlike other rival pubs in the area, we were seen to almost instantly! We also decided to order food which to our surprise was served promptly and was cooked to perfection. It's rare that you can find a pub in central London that can operate such a seamless service under so much pressure, their toilets were also extremely clean! Well done to the staff at Moon Under Water for clearly doing things right. I will be returning soon!
P.
Average size pub right in the middle of Leicester square
Staff are friendly and welcoming and are always busy clearing tables. However, i dont think they are cleaned that often. Nearly every surface you want to lean on seems sticky....
Toilets are located at the back on the right and are really small, there are 3 urinals and 1 cubical.
The breakfast was hot and tasty and the beans were hot! Which is a rare thing for spoon's.
We would recommend this place for breakfast
N. D.
Very busy bar, classis meals as in each Wetherspoon. Good prices but quality could be better. My chicken wings were cold near the bone, quite disgusting but what you want for 4 quid in Lodnon. It is not the best wetherspoon but average.
T. B.
Decent location for a Wetherspoons pub right in the centre of Leicester Square. However, it's quite small and cramped, especially in the evenings and the prices are significantly higher than in other Wetherspoons elsewhere, but it's still slightly cheaper than other pubs in the area.
S. P.
Nice friendly efficient staff, plenty of drinks to select from and reasonably priced for central London. Plenty of places to sit inside and out. Seems a popular place to be, has a nice atmosphere.
C. D.
Great Pub! They've got drink specials just ask. We ended up getting red bull/jager shots for cheap. It's a nice spot to relax before continuing on your the tourist path.
G. K.
Busy, as you would expect in Leicester Square. Felt they had too many tables for the size of the pub. Very hard to move around. Although, staff were very helpful at all times.
A. S.
For Wetherspoons this is quite a small pub, with some outside seating, and some inside, very snug.
Prices for food and drink comparable with usual Wetherspoons value for money (for London).
Fair selection of beers and spirits. Menu Wetherspoons usual fayre. When i visited it was very busy and crowded, with lots of people hovering for tables and waiting at the bar to be served.
It's in an ideal location for tourists wanting to take a break from sightseeing in the area.
N. M.
Conveniently situated. The Covid 19 precautions make some of the seating areas very tight, but that doesn't detract unduly from a great value venue.
J. C.
Often hugely busy but if you can get a spot it's a nice, if narrow, Spoons to be in. Prices do of course have the London tax - expect to pay about a £1-£1.50 premium for your pint compared to Spoons out of central London.
B. C.
Gets super busy as you would expect but then they start to fold side tables down taking them from 5 seaters to 2 seaters. Doesn't make a lot of sense when people want to come in to eat in groups.
E.
Very good location and also foods and drinks that are very good for the price that you pay (pretty cheap). But keep in mind that it can be very busy since it's on such a popular square, but nonetheless the food service was very quick.
C. B.
As you would expect given the location it's going to be very busy in here most of the time. Service was fairly quick compared to most other spoons that are less busy. Your probably going to have to hang around though if you want to get a seat with a table.
P. L.
JD Weatherspoons pub in central London. Can not beat the prices in here for food and drinks. Good selection of drinks. Just be aware can get very busy and have longs waits at the bar. Nothing fancy just good beer and great prices.
L. C.
Great pub in Leicester Square. Went on here for breakfast, I had mushroom eggs Benedict with avocado 🥗 - the breakfast included unlimited coffee or tea 👍staff are really friendly and helpful.
E. M.
I ordered a salad with extra grilled halloumi (2 pound extra), it arrived without it and when they brought it later it was only two small slices which was disappointing. Service was quick though, staff reasonably friendly although quite tired.
H. N.
Convenient location with heaps of space inside. They have good drinks offers during happy hours and I like how the noise level is just enough to have a conversation. Clean bathroom and friendly staff, too. It can be a good spot to have drinks (and food) before catching a movie.
K. W.
Steak and chips and a pint for a tenner is not bad in a central London location. Not too busy on a Tuesday afternoon even though there was a premier on outside. Food came quickly and was good quality.
L. P.
Little confusing was the sign on the door, saying there was an alternative to using the NHS app but we wouldn't be allowed entry if we didn't download it
A. D.
It's a standard Wetherspoon's pub. Decently priced for the location, reliable service and the standard food menu. Friendly and helpful staff.
G. N.
Table service was good, facilities clean and food upto the usual good standard.
L. B.
Cheap drink for London, nice food, best pub in Leicester Square,
N. L.
Great staff lots of choices of beers great food 💯 percent
C. M.
Friendly staff and hot food
B. Y.
More expensive than other spoons in the surrounding area. Quite small and always packed - makes for a good atmosphere but could struggle to get a table. Food is good as any wetherspoons.
N. B.
Good clean pub fast service friendly atmosphere would recommend 👌
G.
Friendy staff, its a Wetherspoon
M. H.
Lovely staff and a great atmosphere
G. G.
They made their menu smaller. No kids nuggets anymore. So choose hot dog and chips instead to be told they didn't have that either so kids just settled for a plate of chips. No new juice drinks in stock as listed on the menu as new items? So settled for happy monkey's instead not great for a family birthday day out. Bit of a let down when you think of how many eating places they have to choose from in central London. Not upto the usual wetherspoons quality nor is the new menu very very poor and they got the bloody cheek to put the prices up as well.
R. M.
Good beer and the staff are very friendly and helpful
A. B.
Great to find a vibrant, affordable pub in Central London, the staff are engaging and knowledgeable of the products on offer, the wait isn't usually too long either. The food is good value for money, delicious and varied.
P. B.
This place is always full, like most places in Leicester square. It's a Weatherspoon's pub so a wide selection of draft ales and Lagers at low prices. A full menu of good basic pub grub. Always worth a visit.
m.
Decent food and beer for cheap.
J. K.
Delicious food and great place for family and friends
C. A.
You will be hard pushed to find food and a good pint in London at the price you pay in Wetherspoons. For the price paid it is a good meal with an excellent range of real ale. Staff were very friendly on our visit.
P. W.
Pretty much your standard Wetherspoons! Prices aren't bad at all considering its location right in the heart of the west end, and the food whilst hardly gourmet provided sufficient sustinence for four weary travellers suffering the after effects of an evening in Soho.
The bar was busy for a Sunday afternoon, naturally considering the location, and the clientele was a broad spectrum but from what I could tell there was no trouble!
H. G.
So busy, very short staffed
I. D.
Good catch up with friends . Easy way to order drinks . Staff friendly
B. E.
This place offers a lovely experience, both according to the food and the atmosphere. The food was good and it arrived rather quickly. It tasted amazing and with a good selection of beer i was satisfied. Great taste and low prices will keep me coming back for more.
M. M.
Badly in need of a make over and deep clean. Unlike most Witherspoon's there were few menus on tables and there fore if you didn't already know the full range of products available you were not going to find out!
N. T. L. S.
This place always seems to be rammed. It's a fairly standard pub with nothing special about it's food or drinks choice, but the convenience of it being in Leicester Square I guess is what attracts people to it. It's not a bad place just always busy
D. W.
Regular 'spoons offering at prices that aren't too bad for London
j. l.
The home away from home, being from non-london, I'm not used to having to take out a mortgage to buy a round and some onion rings. Although slightly higher prices than a normal spoons, can't complain compared to surrounding pub prices
M. F.
Busy small Wetherspoons pub right in Leicester Square. Ideal for a good value family meal whilst in the area, but have to wait around to grab a table.
D. R.
It's a Wetherspoons - it's cheap and cheerful and everyone knows exactly what to expect from it.
The pub was busy during our visit as there was a rare miraculous sunny week during April! The draught lager was served at a cold temperature and the quality of the beer reflected a well kept line system.
Ordered food which arrived promptly, was piping hot and was a good quality for the price paid.
Used the Wetherspoons android app to order food and drinks directly to the table and pay via android pay. The drinks were sent to the table very quickly and the food shortly afterwards.
Would happily visit again and recommend it to others to visit in future.
A. B.
Always so busy! Really nice Wetherspoons in central London. Prices are cheap and there's a range of food (if you can find a table to have it served to)
J. G.
It's a weatherspoons. It's pretty standard but always good food cheap
A. I.
Usual Spoons- very limited menu now and prices up by at least a pound or more since December
S. P.
Nice pub, bit cold though as the doors are always open
P. H.
Always choose wetherspoons when out and about and London no exception, using the app.order from your phone noting table number pay by credit card or debit card or PayPal its as easy as that,no queues etc etc..
Good food etc excellent service and very good beer.
J. S.
As much as I used to like going here, and anyone else still can, as an immigrant I will never again spend my money in a Wetherspoon's establishment, where I have never been served by a British person ever, and yet whose owner, decided to be a part of a very hateful and anti-foreigner Brexit campaign (including displaying hateful posters and coaster in Whetherspoon's pubs) using his business premises.
But yes, it is a lovely pub, with usual Whetherspoon's selection of beers and other drinks, and lovely-mostly foreign- staff.
I. T.
Went early lunch after New Year, food quick but clearly microwaved or similar. I don't expect Michelin Star for the prices but have had better Wetherspoons Fayre.
A. L. L.
Lovely atmosphere and great prices!!!!! If you're on a budget this is a great place in the middle of a lot of the attractions of London. I highly recommend this place. Service is fast and the food is very tasty.
J. C.
Much cheaper than the other bars in the area. A group of very loud drunks were kept in order by security. Fast service when you use the app to order.
A. M.
Good place. Better price. Good food and drinks. However is quite small, if you are a group is difficult to accommodate the tables together. Normally full and you have to wait for an available table.
F. (.
This is a nice pub, it gets very busy, and the layout isn't the best, however for central London its reasonably priced and friendly. It has a smoking area outside and has door security during the day as well as at night.
J. F.
Standard Wetherspoon's with all the good and bad points you find anywhere across the country, only this one is in the entertainment/tourist hotspot of London and is a breathe of fresh air after paying high prices for drinks at some of the other local venues. This pub would benefit from more seating. There is some outdoor seating.

Being a Wetherspoons fan,all around the country, this is the smallest ,busiest and noisiest venue I've visited.
That said, the atmosphere was great, the bar service excellent and the food (mixed grills and fish and chips) spot on.
Thanks to all the staff.

It was ok. Couldn't get a table with all of us together, so we had to split up. The food was what you would expect for the price.

The special pleasure of this lunch is that you can have draught stout with it. I doubt whether as many as 10 per cent of London pubs serve draught stout, but the Moon Under Water is one of them. It is a soft, creamy sort of stout, and it goes better in a pewter pot.

Great bar in the center of Leicester Square! They have outdoor seating so you can sit outside, enjoy a pint and have great views! Can't wait for summer as this is going to be the go to spot!

Nice wetherspoons pub right in the heart of Leicester Square, West End .food and drink is very reasonably priced given the location. Staff and punters are quite friendly

Limited menu wetherspoons, but quick service (use the app saves queuing at the busy bar), always very busy, but you are in Leicester Square

Lovely place and location, quick service and cheap and cheerful good and drinks. However let down by rude waitress, who was taking plates and drinks before people were finished with them, never asking who's ordered what when placing plates down and in general seeming very disinterested. Also let down by the grilled chicken burger which was dry to the bone. However redeemed by the dessert which was delicious.

A great place to meet in Leicester Square. Typical Wetherspoons pub - good quality beer and wine; acceptable, tasty food, air con and nice staff.

Would have been 5 star but the drilling in Leicester Square made patio drinking less enjoyable

Love Wetherspoons! Especially one in central London. Cheap food and drinks keep drinking at Leicester square affordable. Standard Wetherspoons fare - we had the chicken burgers with fries which came quick and fresh (surprising as it was st Pattys Day and jam packed) and perfect to balance the beer.
The cheapness does attract the masses and it's crazy busy here. Good sized outdoor area where you can grab a seat and smoke enjoy your beer.
