What a great place to visit on a Friday after work! Planned just for pint or two but decided to stay and check out the DJ. Great staff and atmosphere is amazing. Highly recommend!

Big venue with Sky Sports, watched the Manchester City vs Brighton game on Saturday evening and stayed for food. I had the hunters chicken pie with mash and gravy was really nice and pretty cheap, my girlfriend had sausage and mush and we shared a portion of chips.

I have visited Nags a couple of days ago during the day- the place was spotlessly clean and the team members were very friendly. As there was no crowd while I came, bartender Chris took his time to prepare exceptional drinks and kept me entertained until my friends arrived. All customers were taken care of in a similar manner. Nags is a top place among other pubs in the Wood Green area. I will be definitely back with my friends. Guys, you are doing a great job 👌

I have visited here at during day, the pub was clean, the bartender was friendly but the toilets were full of rubbish, I could not even close the cubical which made me feel uncomfortable. The drinks are fairly cheap and it is a great location so I am hoping this business will develop by time.

Have been coming to this pub on and off for a few years mostly on weekends and have seen an improvement mainly on the service recently. Most barstaff seem friendly though from recent visits Natalia, Kelly, Neringa and Mercadese are always happy to help and deliver a great service. Overall its clean, always great music and a good amount of space. Security always seem to have something to deal with though!

Good all round pub with satellite sports and ample TV. Food and beer good. Although a modern establishment, it has features of a traditional pub with dartboards and pool table. In a great position for transport links with tube and bus stop just across the road. Staff friendly and approachable.

Go to this pub if you want Wetherspoons quality at a higher price. The atmosphere was nice, but don't come for the food. Even after we sent the burger back they didn't get the order right. Also chips and peas seemed a bit undercooked.

Need to order the correct glasses for the pints being served from them. Food is decent and atmosphere is electric during pub games. Have not been in this pub for years and years the last time being in the 90's when it was a very rough and ready boozer. Popped in recently for some food that being Fish and Chips. Was well worth the visit the food was good the ambience was good and the bar staff were very friendly, and it was cheap. So well done Nags Head...I will return.

Odd bunch of locals but the pub itself is very clean, spacious and friendly. Two pool tables and two dart boards as well as a few tvs. Good entertainment all round. 2 bottles of rekorderlig came to £8.40 which was thankfully cheaper than expected. The food menu looked fantastic, will definitely be back to try a £7.79 double burger with a pint. Bargain!

Staff are friendly. Lots of seating but not too close together. Pleasantly casual (unpretentious). Food & pint deals seem good value; I had a nice big, soft and fluffy jacket potato, but no butter (apparently) so quite dry, especially with a very meagre portion of veg chili (incredibly cheap to make), and pre-grated cheese that doesn't melt properly (why? Surely it's more expensive than grating a block of cheese?). Odd garnish - 2 cold slices of tomato, slowly warming on the blazing hot plate. Again, half a tomato, a red onion ring and a bit of shredded lettuce won't break the bank. Tables and chairs were tidy, but could do with a proper deep clean occasionally. I didn't hate it, I'd go back.

Pub is quite Jekyll and Hyde depending on the time and day. Great for sports if the sports are football and racing, food is Wetherspoons quality and similar price. Reasonable selection of drinks at a reasonable price. We use it a lot as a stop before going to the cinema across the road. Wouldn't use it for a night out.

Friendly bar staff with fair selection of reasonably priced drinks. I went on a Saturday for a late lunch/early dinner and found that the kitchen was going to be shut for 40 minutes so the chef could take a break. Fully endorse staff getting their breaks and all but very daft that there was no kitchen cover especially given how they were showing back to back rugby games (7 nations) and the place was packed with customers!! This was my only gripe but other than that a good place to stop for a drink and (eventually) food - which did get made quite quickly.

Fantastic traditional English bar. The atmosphere is really something exceptional- with all the wood panelling and the comfortable vintage chairs this place feels like a home away from home. Service is just as great and you won't be left unattended or with an empty glass here. You should definitely try thei burgers, but there are also some really good vegetarian options in the menu.

Arrive around 4pm. The atmosphere was loud with few customers. The drinks are priced higher than expected. Was annoyed when the bartender proceeded to take orders from three other patrons that jumped up to the bar after me. I felt overlooked. The food was tasty, but I asked for chips with all the three orders, my chips were missing... On the second order, asked for chicken pie, qbut was given beef pie. Overall I was not impressed with the service and don't recommend The Goose.

The main bar staff are lovely but there seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the pool tables. The security staff tryed to force me and my girlfriend to pay 2 times, so we could play each other. Once to bet the winner of the previous game then we could play whom ever we liked. This is an unreliable demand of money. If I put down money to play on the table I have in effect rented that table and can share the gaming with whom I chose. If this rule of "winner stays on" is the rules of the pub, then it must be clearly marked, along with other rules like no drinks on the table. Ps after this review was posted management reacted and made note of the issue, when the problem arose again with different people I went to the manager (who was on break) and explained the situation and asked when she had finished her break could she please help with the situation. She broke off her break and went straight over and delt with the inderviduals and explained that "winner stays on is not the rules of this pub and never will be". I was very happy with the response I got from her and the whole bar team.

The pub has had another refurbishment which has increased the prices again. In competition with the Wetherspoon across the road but although their prices are dearer they do show all sports on multiple screens. Can get very busy once the disco starts on a Friday and Saturday night.

Not a bad pub but tends to attract all the folk barred from the Wetherspoons opposite meaning in the day time it has a wild west feel. I'm not saying that's necessarily a negative as on a boring Saturday afternoon a bar fight between drunk old men can be entertaining!

What the other reviewers hate about the Goose are the exactly the qualities that make it just about the only pub I ever go to these days. I do stay away on noisy weekend nights, but it's perfect for a laid-back afternoon pint with an always-fascinating cast of local characters - most of us are a bit decrepit, I suppose, but all of us have great stories to tell and we'll be open to hearing yours too. If you're looking to spend £7 on an imported brew to sip in a crowd of sneering self-conscious wannabe yuppies, this ain't your kind of place. But there are usually a couple of real ales on tap, and they're aways fresh and good (as well as refreshingly cheap), and there have been some mild refurbishments of late that haven't done the place any harm.

MUCH improved. Last time I was here - which was well over a year ago - it was called The Goose and I was served three stale pints on the trot, each a replacement for the previous and having run out of beers to try (I only EVER drink ale on hand pump) I made my excuses and left! On this more recent visit I enjoyed several pints of good well-conditioned pints (Pavlovian pints? ho ho! ...Oh never mind!) but marred by a very loud very aggressive and VERY sweary clientele (although to be fair it was largely limited to a single group). Actually it was quite funny: one chap seemed able only to communicate in long strings of cusses interspersed only occasionally with other words... think an aging Quinton Tarantino character on steroids after a lobotomy or some sort of damage to the language centres of his brain! But a little too much like a sport bar for my liking and the ale at £2.80 a pint has to compete with the likes of The Tollgate - not so far away - wherein the prices have recently been reduced...yes you read that right REDUCED... to £1.99 a pint! And the bogs still stink
