Reviews of The Old Thameside Inn
C. K.
Welcome was good and explanation of how the service operated. Booking originally was straightforward. Beer choices excellent along with all spirits you can think of. Fabulous views over the river and buzzing area next to Borough Market. Food and service pretty good considering such a large and busy place. Most enjoyable for our group and will return again.
L. K.
It's a nice place to eat. The food was good but the waitress mad us feel uncomfortable. She kept staring right at us when we were eating. The food arrived in good time however we were not informed they did not have certain dishes that were on the menu. We asked for hunters chicken but it did not come with onion rings that was on the menu. They didn't tell us this when we ordered our food. The waitress was very quiet. I could barely understand what she was saying. Hopefully next time we go the experience will be better. It was mainly the waitress we had problems with. Everyone else was great. Will go back and still recommend

Argyle on tour....a match against Wimbledon and a weekend in London! And this was our first stop of many....and a perfect choice too. The sun was out, the Thames was looking majestic ( if a little muddy ) and we were sat in pole position for beer, food and good people watching!! Nice pub, lovely decor inside and attentive staff milling around. Gradually got busier and busier making a great atmosphere. The 2 snack bites we had were average and expensive, as most pubs food in London tends to be. Really good location and a quite magnificent building. Ps....where have all the Financial district "Suits" gone on a Friday afternoon.....all working from home I suppose....bet they miss their "POETs" time !!!
D.
Beautiful walk around both modern and historical interests. Lots to see, read and explore…then sit, relax with a drink or two.
Especially great with the seaworthy replica of Sir Francis Drake’s majestic ‘Golden Hinde’ Ship, positioned in place ready for glorious viewing, education and restoration.
b.
A really really good selection of beer and wine.
The food that I saw looked great. I had a roast beef sandwich with chips. I can quite honestly say that it was on of the nicest pub sandwiches I've had.
Clean toilets which is always nice and the staff were very nice.
The overall ambience for a boozy Sunday afternoon with friends was just what I was looking for.
A. C.
Really lively and bustling pub. We sat outside with absolutely superb views over the Thames , St.Pauls nestling in the city's landscape. Great selection of drinks, we both had the Pork Sunday dinner and it was one of the best roasts we've had. And the price considering the location was brilliant. Considering how busy it was the service was both friendly and quick. Inside which was very large had several television screens showing football. Totally recommended.
E. A.
Beautiful food, which arrived swiftly! Did not book a table and being a saturday it was quite busy, but found downstairs alot quieter, service was excellent, would deffo return.
U. S.
Fantastic Pub and location in central London… Great selection of beers and gins. Food was stunning and the staff is ever so friendly. Was efficient from start to finish. Couldn’t recommend this place enough! A must visit when your on the right side of the river !!!!
J. R.
Nice pub, super quick bar service and fabulous setting on the Thames and just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Borough Market. Plenty of outdoor seating, pic is the view from the outside terrace.
P. S.
Wonderful pub and restaurant. We had a shared fish platter. It was so delicious. Brilliant service too. Beautiful views of the river. Outside dining too. Highly recommend.
D. G.
Great view, lovely staff. Nachos are very tasty. They need to improve wine collection, but I think they are waiting for 17 May.
Oh also: Thanks Erika and Tony. You both made my day.
L. G.
Great historical pub, usually so busy we can't get a seat but managed it on this occasion. Good selection if drinks very interesting inside and out.
R. F.
It was an okay experience. Food was enjoyable. Drinks were average, the beer was only average. I seem to have a bit of a downer with London pubs since COVID. Prices have rocketed for a mediocre product.
M. G.
Amazing pub and the smell of mulled cider and mulled wine as you walk in is absolutely divine! They have a great selection of drinks and food…. Bar staff was very efficient and polite mannered … would definitely recommend to anyone coming around London Bridge or sort of south bank area it’s really the pub to go to around here! Highly recommend it!
A. F.
Nice pub, shame the hand drier didn't work and no hand towels supplied. Beer was good, good choice of drinks. Price reasonable for London with a view of the Thames. Worth a visit.
M. A. D.
A lovely location, but extremely expensive for food and drink almost £7 per drink which is outrageous prices for the average Londoner. Great experience for tourists but be mindful of what you are pay for, if you are looking traditional pub grub.
A. M.
We had a fantastic time and an amazing service despite the fact that the pub was very busy. I work in the same industry and do appreciate a meal with good waiting staff. Alex went above and beyond to ensure that we had a lovely evening and I have to say he was exceptional! He was always close by and checking we were ok and happy with everything without being intrusive (we all know there can be a very fine line).
The food was good and well presented.
The other staff a girl was welcoming, I know that people who are passionate about their job are very hard to come by and Alex is definitely an asset to your company. I would like to say a very big thank you. We will definatly be back. I shall recommend this pub for it's food and service.
M. P.
Nice place,on an halfway between london bridge and southwark bridge.
The landscape looks very good on the outside especially during sunset (hoping for a good weather 🤞🏻🌞), you’ll enjoy a beer or a glass of wine with a beautifull view of thames river on the inside there’s the typical British pub atmosphere. During the weekend could be so crowded.
Bartenders are very kindly.
N. F.
Great pub and if you're lucky, you might bag a table inside overlooking the Thames. And we were lucky, we did. Nice staff with a good service. The grub is good too!
S. W.
We booked for lunch on a Mondya at 1pm
All of our 1st options of food were unavailable..there was 4 of us choosing different foods. We all ended up with fish & chips and it was as good as fish and chips you get in most places. Location and staff are great too.
L.
The drinks and food were quite lovely, refreshing orange pims mix and nice chips with vegan sausage - first time trying and pretty good! Have to say that staff weren't super cheerful but that's minor. Would come back again.
B. B.
great pub … good location … friendly staff …. Good selections of ales and lagers …. Fish and chips was great and so was the steak pie my wife had for dinner …. Sat outside to enjoy the view of the river Thames after dinner and they have heaters so it was enjoyable …. Enjoyed a good few mulled cider out in the cold which staff happily delivered to us… they were all great !!!! Don’t miss out on this place!
B. K.
Great all around experience, food and drinks were amazingly good. Respectful staff members made the whole evening experience wonderful with the view making it 10 times better.
d. 2.
My go to pub. Right on the Thames and next to Francis Drakes ship. Good array of on tap and bottle beers. Food available if you want it.
S. B.
Good selection of cask ales and staff on bar very good knowledge of whiskey and ales for a change!!!! Burgers good and restaurant staff very pleasant was very well looked after the whole night and busy enough they was!!!! Will pop down with me mates on Friday for a few pints that’s for sure!…
D. M.
One of my most favourite pubs in london. Fantastic views by the Thames. Whether you go during the day or evening its a great place to meet. Excellent choice of food and drink. Really friendly staff.
D. P.
A great place with fantastic views. One of my favourite places to chill in London. The menu isn't huge but the food is extremely good pub food. Love the seafood platter.
S. &. I. T. S. 2. n. c. r. l.
Erika and Jordan were great really nice and were very reasonable when we moaned that our drinks weren't the best and replaced them without a problem . An absolute breath of fresh air. Brilliant thanks guys
B. M.
A nice pub, but very popular on the weekends and when rugby was on. Not a bad thing just stuck drinking a beer sat outside in the cold!
P. H.
Excellent location, heaters were on outside so we could still eat outside. Bit disappointed wirh Sunday lunch menu as we ordered at 2pm whixh isn't late and hardly anything left. We wanted beef and it wasn't on the menu then 15 mins later our food arrived and the table next to us had a menu with beef on! I am guessing this is all down to the delivery issues at the moment so it wont put us off going agsin, just be aware this may be the case at the moment
P. H.
An extremely popular hostelry on the banks of the Thames, as the name suggests. It was very busy on a weekend lunchtime, being located just past Borough Market, and opposite the Golden Hinde replica.
In spite of the crowds, a waitress soon took our orders, and they were delivered in good time.
Plenty of atmosphere, but sadly, I found the gents was quite awash!
They do add 10% to bills as a matter of course!
M. G.
Can get busy at times, but a great location, great location, and great selection of drinks! I had the Mulled Cider this evening! Very nice too!
B. P.
Great food, drink and service. Perfect for meeting friends, going on dates or socialising with work colleagues. Even caters for tourists.
A scene from Tom Cruise's first Mission Impossible movie was filmed here.
g. s.
Nice location 👌 & great pub to relax & have a beer 🍺 in !
M. D.
Great location on the banks of the Thames, next to the Golden Hind.
Nice selection of ales and a great burger!
The lady serving at the bar was cheerful, friendly, and helpful!
K. T.
Have drink right next to the Golden Hind....highly recommended...
M. L.
Tourist trap in the heart of London next to the Golden Hind. Mediocre service and grumpy staff don't really add to the ambience.
Great views though and the pub is clean and relatively quiet.
Quite pricey for what it is.
M. B.
Fantastic views looking out over the river, especially at night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.
M. S.
Lost my wallet they held it for me. The best place in london soooooo happy great people
M. R.
Food is amazing and a good price had the sea food sharer relaxing atmosphere sat outside watching the world go by next to the Thames. Staff friendly and service quick definitely worth a visit
A. S.
Really had good day out staff were lovely and they made us feel welcome would go back again nice place to have a drink with friends
R. M.
A beautiful pub situated in a stunning part of London, overlooking iconic landmarks. The staff and very friendly and the food and drinks are outstanding! I would highly recommend visiting and its a family friendly pub, with a great outdoor seating area.
N.
Lovely roast, beautiful settings, inside and out
S. C.
This is a nice pub on the bank of the Thames. The balcony area is great during better weather watching the river traffic passing by. There are two bars, the main bar and a basement bar accessed via a spiral staircase. Good beers and food is served here as well.
S. D.
Lovely food and good value for money, especially considering the location. Staff friendly and helpful, also the toilets smelt amazing.
M. D.
Friendly staff and a great location on the river. Prices are reasonable too considering the close proximity to the river. If visiting during the Summer, I recommend booking ahead as the outdoor tables tend to get booked up in advance. The views are fantastic!
L. V. T.
Really nice place with amazing views... Polite and friendly staff
T. K.
Brilliant location, lovely building, friendly and helpful staff. Great variety of drinks and food. Definitely going again.
C. L.
Drinks with a view! Was lovely sitting outside watching the sunset on the river, even though the pub was completely packed the staff where all really lovely and helpful. The crowd seemed to be very mixed age and tourists and non tourists. But rather rowdy to say the least!
O. I.
Great food and lovely service from Andy!!
J. M.
Love this place. Been loads of times and is always our place of choice for food of we are ever in London, either just us or to take family and friends. The selection of food is traditional pub cuisine, with great sandwiches too, all prepared to a high quality. The inside of the pub had a great atmosphere and the interior is done up with beams and had lots of character. There is even a lovely outside area with views of the river and the Golden Hinde. The pub also shows sports on TV, but the restraint is far enough away if you're not interested. Would highly recommend!
J. H. J.
Really nice pub only had a drink but the menu and food looked really good
J. C.
Nice traditional style pub on the river with great views of London.
Friendly helpful staff.
S. S.
Atmosphere is amazing! Would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the grumpy bar tenders
L. J. S.
Very relaxing and got a nice view of the Thames :)
B. J.
Nice location, busy with a good atmosphere.
Drinks a little on the expensive side but to be expected for location.
R. F.
Very old probably Saxon in parts. Well worth a visit and support with a small donation. Just before I arrived someone had taken items and not paid, such a shame.
Y. U.
Great place by the river! Delicious food and friendly staff! Would definitely return.
S. A. P.
Busy traditional pub by Golden Hind replica on Southbank. Plenty of seating including riverside tables outside with great views of the Thames. Staff are friendly and helpful.
I. R.
Came here with the family for a meal, great service from staff; food came quickly and well presented. Will visit again!
T. J.
What a great find of an oldy world's pub
S. D.
The food was very expensive for the low quality that you get, you are really just paying for the location and view. The staff were friendly enough.
S. N.
A nice view from that pub I recommend to everyone
V. c.
Very nice pub along the river. Lots of dpace inside and outside.
It is usually packed so you might have to wait or stand which isn't bad considering you have a lovely view on the thames.
J. W.
Superb Pie House & overall good pub, food was excellent & staff was friendly!
E. S.
Ok stuff, probably a bit too busy. The portions are giant, their sausages and mash will forever stay in my memory. Great view when sat outside. Nice drinks selection. For their prices it's a 5 stars experience. 👌
s. m.
Good service, good food and excellent amount of beers to choose from.
Well worth a visit
G. P.
A relaxed atmosphere and nice view with a table just by the Thames. A lovely cold pint of beer and the sunshine. Next time I'll get some food too that I saw some plates passing by and, if I didn't had lunch I would have had something there for sure
L. P.
Great selection of drinks. The food was just alright.
Excellent if you can grab an outside seat on a good weather day.
R. L.
Met some friends here on Friday evening for drinks and a bite to eat. Guinness was good as was the fish and chips and the large bowl of onion rings to share went down a treat. The pub was busy but not packed which meant you could get to the bar and order drinks with ease. You could also use the Nicholson pubs App to order drinks and food straight to your table.
A.
Great location and incredible views, on the Thames overlooking the city. As you would expect in this location drinks are above average price. They were showing both rugby and football when we went which is great. Not a place to go for food in my opinion it was nothing special, very bland and boring.
D.
Next to the Thames and Southwark Cathedral, my destination tonight. Very busy but quick service. I understand that staff also wander around offering table service. (Based on another customer’s comments). I absolutely hated the beer I had, but that was down to personal taste not to the way it was kept or served by the pub. The only downside was I was accosted by a child who was apparently trying to raise funds for kids’ sports. When they have a pre-learned speech that begins “Excuse me Ladies and Gentlemen”, regardless of who they are talking to, I am suspicious.
J. D.
I liked this pub really well. Good place to stay directly to the river. Several kinds of ales. For every taste. About the food I can not give an advice. Only drinks. Many people's there. Good day there
A. D.
Enjoyed our visit to the Old Thames pub. On the banks of the river and adjacent to the golden hind boat. Large selection of beers.
B. A.
Long deck right along the Thames. So, amazing view. They have their own handmade style crisps-in-a-paper-bag. Decent selection of beer, good service.
O. S.
nice place to have a drink chill by the river. Customer service friendly too.
S. P.
Massive improvement since my last visit a few years back when every brand of lager tasted the same. Would now recommend a visit to this pub and would happily return.
J. S.
Arrived at this pub to greeted by Tony who was very busy with other customers found time to be super attentive and find us a table even though we hadn’t booked. In fact all the staff were amazing fast service chilled drinks and smiling. I would recommend to anyone passing or just come here and try and you will be well impressed.wonderful sitting by the Thames watching the boats go by.👍
T. M.
Service is rather bit slow...the prices of the food (understanderbly higher than land inward). It is however worth the wait. The Thames- side view is fantastic!
K.
Lovely staff and quick table service. Food was better than expected for a pub 🙂
R. J.
This pub is in a great location and has a good amount of outdoors seating. However, little difficult to get served and they also got our order wrong twice - served me a Camden Hells in the branded glass but with a worse lager (probably Amstel) in. I would have pointed this out, but it was quite hard to get the attention to do so
A. W.
Wonderful Riverside location, super fast service via the app and good food.
J. R.
Great service and good beer selection. And a wonderful view over the river Thames!
M. K.
Love it. Go there every time in London. Food excellent. Garlic Chicken schnitzel. Amazing 👏
D. C.
Nice pub with good food. Prices are reasonable for London and the pies have great pastry.
P. I.
Really nice pub with a great deal for food and drinks.
The food was quick and quite great variety to choose from. However the pies are the chef's recommendation.
The drinks variety is also quite good!
R. T.
Great pub right on the river and a good selection of food and drink.
H. m.
Great pub , great location but unfortunately not much in the way of gluten free food
S.
Good little pub that is close to London bridge station. Nice food, friendly staff. It has a huge riverside terrace that is great in summer.
J. D.
A cosy pub with one of the best locations- right by the Thames and by Borough market. Came here with some friends for one of the Euro matches, there was sound ON (Big plus), staff was very attentive and table exactly opposite the big screen. Couldn't have asked for a better evening. I'll be definitely coming for the Euro final!
T. M.
Very nice food with friendly waiting staff & a lovely river Thames view as a bonus 👍
J. N.
Great pie and a pint pub with seats, literally, overlooking the Thames. Don't expect too many frills, but you'll feel well fed after a meal. Here's a view from the terrace.
O. T.
Lovely spot on the river at London bridge. Sit outdoors and watch the world and river go by.
Lovely atmosphere inside the pub also, true london feel.
V. B.
Good food, lovely location, nice atmosphere. Staff friendly & helpful
S. S.
Great view of the Thames and some of London sky line. Friendly staff and good selection of beers
C. R.
Nice spot on the river, good food, service, and a decent selection of drinks. Decent amount of outdoor seating, and all covered in the event of rain. Slightly steep on the prices, but otherwise a good spot.
a. h.
Lovely pub and great location. Right next to the thames, next to the London Bridge. Lots of English beer options . Worth a visit
J. H.
You pay for the view and location which are great, but the inside space is cramped and dirty feeling. The bartenders weren't friendly at all and their knowledge of their own stock was really bad. The prices are pretty standard for London but they're not clearly displayed for all drinks (e.g the whisky list) which is pretty cheeky. It's worth going to the Anchor slightly further down the river which is another standard British pub but at least the staff are friendly there and they know their drinks.
R. T.
Just stopped for a drink and to take in the scenery. Nice atmosphere.
R. E.
A decent pub with a fair rang of beers on tap. Its nice to sit outside and look at the Thames.
A. A.
Great pub. Nice place to sit and chilling after the food experiences at Borough Market.
J. D.
Great place to grab a drink near the river and the shard
A. A.
This is a delightful pub, with an amazing backdrop (being right on the banks of the Thames). Friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices, and tasty food. What more could you ask for??
t.
Very nice pub lots of history attached to this area great views of the Thames River. .an outside area to sit and watch life go by ..definitely go in again.nice staff also.
B. b. J.
A beautiful scenery very relaxing pub right cost. Will definitely comeback
J. L.
A river side pub with stunning views of the river bank and city skyline. A standard selection of drinks and food accompanied by a great vibe. Often a popular stop for city workers making it a hive of activity, both in the winter and summer season meaning service can be slow.
H. A.
Lovely place by the water. Great choice of drinks. Didn't eat here but the food looked lovely.
A. W.
Good place to have a beer on a nice evening. Bar snack good also.
S. V.
We love this pub, today it was very festive and cosy very pleasant staff as always
M. W.
Great selection of ales and even better views in this picturesque location right next to the Golden Hind
A. C.
World class location. Great pub that gets extremely busy. Beer very disappointing on last visit but others say not bad so I’ll give them benefit of doubt. Pricing typical capital city savagery 🤕
J. O.
Lovely pub, reasonably priced drinks
S. J.
Great pub with great views. Was really busy but service was still good
A. M.
Great location, next to Thames River
All City of London in front of your Eyes!
A little expensive food but very tasty
C. M.
Really nice pub , with stunning view over the Thammes and Tower Bridge, HMS Belfast , Sky Garden and many more beautiful attractions.
J. M.
Good food and drinks .service very good
M. T.
Amazing view, fast service, you order by the App and they'll bring it to you otherwise you order at the bar.
R. C.
Excellent as usual but surprised to see it being quiet so close to Christmas day I guess it people scared by changing announcements by Mr JOHNSON which all seems vague
T. H.
Loved it, perfect place for a Riverside drink.
D. O.
I used to come very frequently, at least 5 times per week. Always enjoyable and great in the summer.
J. F.
Great food and service. Big choice of beers. Highly recommend if you in the area.
S. P.
I've been to this pub a few time before covid. Great views to the city, next to Thames, great outdoor space. Post covid, things aren't so great anymore. Of course we are all aware of the track and trace and the whole book a table thing, but there seems to be an unorganized queue system, people being called in in from of others, the staff at the entrance not really being very approachable. They asks people to wait outside but don't seem to be approaching them after. According to them, there were only seats valuable inside although it was variable all the empty tables outside. Those were probably booked, or reserved, but they could rearrange the people by time frame, and let people sit until the people for that table arrive. Then another issue, which it has more to do with the group, not so much this particular pub, but the menu, which now you have to use your phone to scan a QR CODE, takes you to download the app, not the menu. It becomes long and unnecessary steps just to order a drink.
M. S.
Good place to get a drink and basic pub food with a view over the Thames. Food is reasonable value. Main problem is finding a table.
A. C. G.
Felt like a local pub even when it's by the thames and in such a touristic area
J. D.
Fast service, cosy feel to the place with a good selection of drinks.
Visited on a super sunny day and front of house were rushed off their feet, but still managed to squeeze 3 of us in at short notice.
J. C.
OK for drinks but the food was waaay too salty so don't recommend eating here
P. W.
Only stopped for a drink on a short stay but they were more than helpful making sure we had a lower than bar sized table for the kids.
A. C.
Great food, amazing beers and lagers and good, efficient service, all reasonably priced, too. What more could you ask for? A view? Check it out!
D. K.
Very nice pub, decent fish and chips before heading off to the football
L. J.
Been here several times and the service does get better. Today we had an issue with a meal and asked for it to be re-done. The staff were great, cooked a replacement meal, reimbursed the meal and provided desserts for the table.
They went over and above to make our socially distanced, post-lockdown experience enjoyable.
Thank you to all of the team.
N. H.
A characterless pub with tourist views. It’s large and central which give it points however it’s nowhere to travel towards. Fine if your stuck in the vicinity.
C. B.
Was a lovely pub and great service. Great location. Sat inside so not sure what it was like to be inside.
R. L.
Ok pub. Inside isn't too great, it's all about the outside seating which isn't amazing.
Beer wasn't that great either from what I tasted.
Does a job if you need a quick Camden post work
I. Y.
Great atmosphere - seating outside by the river. But quite expensive (probably makes sense with their prime location)
e. d.
Nice pub near theThames river. Good food and normal prices.
K. L.
Sat outside, had electric heater to keep us warm. Food was good, service was good. Shame the online menu was not the same menu that was currently available.
H. S.
it has a great location right on the banks of the Thames, we were lucky enough to get a seat outside, great views, Peroni on draught so great pub.
H. C.
Guest greeter was great!
Shame the heaters switch off every 5 minutes.
Food was rushed and burnt, had to send back and then it was too late to eat with main meal.
Appreciate there's a quick time turnaround getting people seated, food ordered and get them out whilst still in Covid semi lockdown.
j. b.
Lovely location on the River with great views. Food was exceptionally mediocre, and we felt rush by the waiter bringing our main while we were still finishingg our starters. Food had clearly been sat on the side in the kitchen for a good while, but was still edible. Would reccomend for drinks but not food
Z. M.
Really lovely pub by the Thames.
It's too cold to sit outside now, but i can only imagine how wonderful it must be in summer! We sat in the quiet corner up in the restaurant. We had an amazing view of the river and the City. Waitress recommended Chicken Tikka and it was really nice. I was worried that it might be spicy, but it was nicely mild.
To finish, we had Trio of Desserts and it was just perfect for two people who couldn't decide what to have.
We will definitely come back in the future. Thank you.
V. S.
Lovely pub with fantastic views of London on the River.
G. R.
Beautiful place good atmosphere and friendly. With good food and refreshments
.👍👌❤
G. L.
Very good burger. View is good.
M. G.
Nice little pub on the river, and good selection of gins
I. T.
We found it at the last moment and they served us very well. The music was too loud to have a conversation during the dinner but the food excellent.
G. L. G.
Warm day, visiting Borough market, stopped for a refreshment outdoors by the Thames. Great location.
J. H.
Lovely pub with great views, great service.
J. D.
Very cold outside in the evening under the heaters. Too packed and crowded with after work pub goers.
K. J.
Love this pub,
On a sunny warm day sitting outside by the river this place just cannot be beat.
Friendly staff and always quick service,
A bit pricey but it is central London after all.
D. D.
Loved it and a decent pint of Tribute thanks will be back
b. b. M.
Average place with chain like feel. Standard camden ipa beers, absolutely no thought in the ever expanding ipa market.
Was seated outside obviously but under a marquee so got blasted by winds and no sun.
Nice staff
Take a jacket
K. H.
Food was fantastic, little pricey for a pub, but the portions were generous and the quality was spot on. Staff were quiet, attentive and effecient.
H. S.
Lovely pub, nice service and great selection of Gin too! It's in a nice area, with good views of the Thames and near brought market which is great if you're a tourist, or a local looking for a new spot

Lovely setting on the Thames. Nice food but a bit pricey.
You accept that though for the location.
M. O.
Great service, great food, great ambiance!
T.
Nice enough pub on the river mid the hustle and bustle of Borough.
p. b.
Great seating right by the Thames, food good and reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive.
D. B.
Sat outside by the river. Was very pleasant. Service was very good and prompt. Visit this place in the summer time and I guarantee you'll enjoy it.
M. M.
Great bar, well worth a visit.🍺
K. S.
best Fish Goujons i've had in months, pair it with a pint from the tap and enjoy it overlooking the Thames. order and pay using an App.
P. W.
Great service, food a draught pint, just sadly due to Covid outside obviously, it was a freezing cold wind, sun was hiding, so ate quickly and left.
Pub itself tried their best, heaters dotted about, but all the covered areas taken.
J. R.
Bit chilly sitting next to Thames. So wrap up.
Great scenery. Staff very friendly. Good choice of beers. Enjoyable first beer after lockdown
R. S.
This is a great Nicholson's pub. Standard menu for them, normal pub grub. Beers are good and service was excellent generally going staff serving with an old hand landlord who has been there for years and is always good for a little chat. Beautiful views of the river and The Square Mile
L. G.
Really nice pub, staff is really nice. The terrace is amazing with a superb view of london
p. c.
Great selection of beers in an amazing location.
R. G.
Did a walking tour on a one day visit to London and our tour guide recommended this place for Sunday Roast and we're so happy he did. The food was amazing. I had the Steak Pale Pie and it was delicious. The service was good too especially since the place was extremely busy.
D. L.
Excellent service, we had a Portuguese waiter who also could say quite few words in Bulgarian ( my language) It really boosted my mood. Food was delicious, loved the salad.
D. P.
Found friends wallet and very helpful in reuniting them.
t. k.
Great pub, great service, friendly staff. Has a sizeable (by central London standards) and pleasant outdoor area overlooking the Thames, with outdoor heaters and some parasols so ideal for a substantial meal (the food was very good) and some drinks whenever the tiering system allows
J. A.
Great selection of beers and spectacular views on the river. Love it
E. M.
This was a nice place to stop on a hot day. We enjoyed a refreshing beer on the shaded patio at noon. You walk past a cool old boat on the way in (looks like a pirate ship). The staff was friendly. Good pub food on banks on the river. Food and wine traditonally pub grub but great view of the river Lovely place for breakfast with a view, great portion size and can grab a beer or coffee to go with it.will return for lunch or dinner one day soon.
j. t.
Fantastic pub by river Thames, just you metal railing and best Thames view ever. very Friendly staff .
G. R.
Large pub on the Thames. Lots of character. Close to Golden Hind ship and Borough Market. Great place for a pint and food in great setting.
M. T.
I tend to stop here for a glass of wine while I'm at Borough Market. It can get really busy especially on the weekends and after work but only to be expected for the area.
I. S.
Great spot for a refreshing drink or a bite to eat with stunning views of the Thames, bridges & surroundings.
Comfy seats on the outdoor terrace. They also have heaters outdoors for slightly colder evenings. Gets quite busy and loud inside this pub, especially when the music starts playing very loud. Good selection of drinks and pub grab.
J. D.
Nice looking pub, nice views, average drinks and just about average staff. I wouldn't mind the last 2 things that much but as the bar charges a compulsory 10% service charge I think that there should be service worthy of it. Plenty other places to choose from.
L. K.
Lovely views, friendly staff. The food was top notch! Sunday roast was delicious. My partner had gammon and chips said the gammon was the nicest he's ever had.
S. C.
Service from Erika was amazing she was possibly the nicest bartender ever and made us feel very welcome! Great evening out.
H. S. K.
Taste so nice, beautiful atmosphere, night view good!
D. W.
Turned up without a booking and got seated. Table service, it turns out, is so much faster than the good old days spent queuing at the bar!
A. P.
Great location but average service and food. Security staff were a bit rude after giving us a table and then realising it was booked.
J. W.
Hello there. We came to your pub yesterday for dinner. We sat in the dining room at the back, because it was nice and quiet there and we could get served at the table. Very friendly waitress welcomed us and gave us table with a great view by the window. We could see the river and London Bridge and i really loved the fairy lights outside. Lovely pub and the location is fantastic. Me and my husband both had fish and chips, the fish was beautifully cooked and chips were nice and fluffy inside. Portions are huge, i am glad i didn't go for large option.
We want to give 5 stars for service and food as well, because we had a great experience. We will definitely come back on many occasions. All the best to the team.
J. C.
We had our Christmas Dinner last year and it was so lovely we decided to come back again this year. Same lady was in charge of the bookings and she remembered us which was very nice. She came by to say hello even though she was not working in the restaurant area at this time. Our table was set in the dining room and it had a such a great views, plus the whole pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Staff was friendly, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. They made us feel very welcome. We all had 3 course meal and it was simply delicious.
After our party I received a "Thank You" email from Olympia asking us about our experience . I thought that was an excellent touch.
We will definitely be back next year. Thank you to the whole Team and Merry Christmas :)
T. G.
Great location and very good table service. The food was excellent highly recommend
M. M.
Very nice view of the city. A bit pricey though. But that's London for ya..
G. H.
Good quality chain pub with great location
P. H.
The food is great and we had a good time near the river. We also enjoy the music. The staff were wonderful and professional. I lost my experience Smartphone and the lovely manageress called my friend asking him to pick it up the next day. We will definitely come back.
A. W.
Gorge! Perfect spot to put feet up after long day walking. Prices nor too bad. Staff efficient but not exactly friendly. Just a great location. Would not bother buying food as you can get great street food around corner in Borough Market. But if you just want to put feet up and have a pint it's a great spot!
J. M.
Nice friendly pub & good food.
C. J.
We came by this pub yesterday.
We were lucky to get a table with a lovely view of the city. Waitress was very friendly and recommended house made pies.
I had a Duck pie and my hubby tried the Beef Rib, both absolutely fantastic. We stayed quite a long time, had a few drinks afterwards and generally enjoyed ourselves.
Highly recommending to anyone.
J. C.
Great location, friendly service...well worth a visit
S. S.
Fab staff and atmosphere, really enjoy this place
J. W.
Great service. Bar staff remembered 9 pint order when i didnt!!!!
M. R.
Yes is a chain pub (Nicholsons) but the qualities it has, great service and a good selection of drinks, are far outweighed by it's location overlooking the Thames and the City of London. Could soak up the view all day long. If you get served by Mario 'Mr Five Stars' you will be entertained! Enjoy. M
J. p.
Great pub right by the river
Lovely staff
Will definitely visit again
L. F.
I love cider with a fruit they serve. Very good view of the river too. A lot of friendly staff.
T. C.
Not bad food but i would say not worth it .
The burgers were quite dry, nothing special were on them, ingredients ,sauce ,neither in the way it is cooked. For £15 it adds up quickly to £20 with a beer. The food is disappointing , but on another hand the interior is cosy and comfortable, though its a busy pub and obviously touristy due to it's location.
S. K.
Very friendly staff, nice ambiance, clean place, good beer and food
A. S.
Really nice rich food, excellent setting, reasonable London prices, really comfy place. Good for work drinks or a date type of place. Only thing knocking a star off is the lack of a vegan dessert (many could be, but come with non-vegan ice cream - you can offer both, it's one tub in a freezer).
j. m.
Beer was great but outside drinking experience was hampered by the number of smokers
J. A.
Great selection of beers and spectacular views on the river. Love it
E. A.
Love this pub. Has character and is in a great location!
E. T.
Fabulous pub, lovestaff.
H. O.
Good for drinking but for having dinner as well
j. p.
really nice river view good selection of beer
T. S.
Good to go and say you where there. Interesting
M. S.
Great pub, family friendly, social distancing and covid rules in place , felt very safe and enjoyable at the same time .
A. P.
Great location but average service and food. Security staff were a bit rude after giving us a table and then realising it was booked.
J. H. (.
Excellent did and drink with a Riverside view!!
R. T.
Cosy and warm atmosphere, with the rain outside, unbeatable view of the river Thames, friendly staff, excellent food (sunday roast). Non only a beautiful location, but also a pleasure to eat in!
C. H.
Booked a table for 4 for Christmas meal - couldn't have chosen a better venue. Waitress very attentive, atmosphere good, meal excellent. We were not rushed in anyway, which is always good as we like to take our time. All in all, very good value - would definitely recommend.
J. H. (.
Excellent did and drink with a Riverside view!!
L. S.
This is a fantastic venue for both meetings during the day or going out with friends during the evening. The management and staff are excellent and make you feel very welcome. The food menu is diverse and of high quality. I would certainly recommend to anyone who is thinking of coming here. Keep up the good work everyone!
A. K.
We went there few days ago for a lunch and few drinks. We were lucky to get a tabke outside . View is stunning . We ordered at the bar. Food arrived and it looked amazing. Couldn't wait to dig in! I had Sweet potato spinach and goat cheese pie which was recommended by the barmaid . They are pie house and the pies are amazing . My husband had Beef and Bearnaise which was also delicious . Even tho pies seem to be winter choice of food they were perfect for the weather and for our hungry tummies. Thumbs up 👍👍
A. D.
Popped in for Sunday lunch. Marvellous food; beautiful beef and perfect veg. We ordered the cauliflower cheese side and it was delicious! Friendly staff and lovely views. Note: they do not take table bookings on Sundays.
L.
Great place to meet up, lovely atmosphere and staff very professional and friendly
P. F.
Nice pub on the river next to the replica Golden Hinde which is sadly closed because of Covid. Seats are available outside and inside, outside you have great views of the Thames. Self service at the bar. V near Borough Market.
m. e.
Nice pub friendly staff and good food
b. t.
Good traditional London pub. Excellent location by the river as the name implies. Good range of beers and food is also available. It was a cold wet evening when we visited, but they have umbrellas and patio heaters, so we were able to sit outside. It does get very busy, so getting a seat may take a while.
L. S.
Lovely pub
Next to the Thames and Borough Market with a great view over River and the Ship
Good beer and food
A perfect stop on a walk on the river bank
j. p.
really nice river view good selection of beer
D. C.
Right by the Thames, this is the place to sit out on a summer afternoon with some good beer. You can watch the boats glide by with the gleaming city towers in the background. A great city life experience. They have a good selection of hand pulled ales to try, as well as the usual beers. A great place to hang out with friends.
V. T.
Great atmosphere and service.
Our waitress Monika was friendly and professional.
Will definitely be back
N. H.
Love the riverside tables, great view of the city. Visited on a balmy February Sunday eve, wasn't too busy in there.! Service and choice of drinks was good. Had typical pub meal which was OK and served promptly. Definitely worth a visit!
H. U.
Great atmosphere, a little windy next to the river
A. R.
Such a lovely place close the Thames. Too bad for the slow service at the table
B. D.
Great location. First time I've paid £5 for a pint!
Great polite service from the staff. Thanks 👍
A. P.
Food was okay and views over the Thames good. Staff pleasant but didnt always understand food orders or any additional requests. The cheese sharer wasnt massive however a few additional crackers were supplied with no trouble.
A. D.
I was asked to move because I was seated in the (virtually empty) dining room. So I sat at a six-seater table in the main pub, and watched as the bar filled up... but the dining room didn’t 🤓
Pretty sure I would’ve finished the remainder of my pint before it would’ve been an issue.
Aside from that, outside seating, on the Thames, in shade, is a boon on a hot summer’s day. But gets snapped up quickly (necessitating a move to inside seating). Loads of choice for draught beers, and the menu prices are reasonable, give the location.
C. B.
I stopped off here for some lunch with a friend on a day out in London.
Wasn't really sure what to expect but found a nice menu with sensible prices.
As for the food itself... Very nice indeed.
The only reason I've taken a star off is just about every table outside wobbled, making them unsuitable to eat at. We moved inside as a result.
L. R.
Dropped in for a quick drink after a meal, it was winter so we were inside, it has a large seating area on river. It was quite empty at the time, but I know it gets very busy, especially in the summer when the weather is good. Price wise is similar to most pubs with Riverfront seating.
J. x.
Sat outside socially distance
Waiter service 👍
A. M.
really nice location, terrible service and over priced beers. 6.70 for a pint even for central London is daylight robbery
M. S.
Great pub, family friendly, social distancing and covid rules in place , felt very safe and enjoyable at the same time .
C. B.
Awesome pub right next to the Thames. There's a number of tables outside to enjoy the sun, great selection of beers on tap and really nice food. I'd recommend the home made pies, and the disk and chips, really good!
S. R.
Great place to have a beer with good views down the river. I haven't tried the food but lots of people have been eating there when I have attended. It could be a tidier place though...dirty dinner plates and empty glasses were scattered about on various tables.
A. M.
Outside seating overlooking the Thames. Good food menu. As it was the last day of the 50% discount on food it was particularly good value.
T. R.
Beautiful views, nice place for a drink.
Service is via the qr app which is a pain
H. O.
Good for drinking but for having dinner as well
E. B.
My favourite pub. Food is amazing, variety of beers to choose from as well as other drinks. Service is always nice and funny, friendly and helpful. I've been in Thameside many times and always had a great time. Highly recommend to everyone.
A. N.
Nice pub in a great location for riverside views. Has heaters outside for when it gets cold. However it gets very busy at the bar so it can sometimes take a while to get served. The bar staff work very hard to deal with this issue.
G. T.
Great food and views.
T. G.
Wonderful atmosphere along the river. Warm friendly service. Good food, served promptly. Not too large, so that you feel like you're lost in the crowd... only small enough to give you that warm feeling that a pub is supposed to!
J. C.
Lovely view of the river a great place to stop when doing the bankside and southbank route
r. p. r.
Had a lovely time watching the boats going past. Plus Peroni and great service. Well recommended.
T. G.
Lovely relaxing place. Food was ok, nice by the Thames.
T. B.
The food was delicious, especially with a riverside view. I have to come back again! I thought the prices were very good for the quality too.
D. B.
Great pub in a brilliant setting by the river. Plenty of seating outside, which tends to fill up quickly when weather good. Pint price as expected for this area.
A. S.
Great lunch staff are very friendly and helpful
T. T.
Very cozy pub in a great location. Tasty but huge fish and chips portions - recommend the "small" option unless you're absolutely starving!
Z. S.
Really nice venue. Pleasant staff. Reasonable prices and traditional pub grub.
L. S.
Nice Inn, close to Themse warm and cosy, higher prices of beer but expected.
P. G.
In a great position near London Bridge and overlooking the Thames, this pub does delicious food (steak and frites for a tenner) and has a decent range of wines and beers. The staff are lovely, and even offered to carry a heavy tray for me to the table - I love it when places pay attention to details like that. It can get quite crowded, especially if you want to eat on a weekday lunchtime, so I would advising booking if you are coming then.
In the winter month's they offer mulled wine which both smells and tastes divine. In the summer months, do try to bag a table outside.
K.
I come here quite often to catch up with friends, and I love the Terrace, the random people you always meet and the level of rapport the staff have with guests. It is quite pricey, and the ales are not kept well at all, but it's still very good
S. C.
The staff were very nice and we were quite roudy. Great view by the Thames and would come back.
R. F.
Nice place with Thames River side seating with nice welcoming bar staff and has nice welcoming guests. You can sit right on the Thames River side enjoying a drink and meal with relaxing views and company. See the sun go down with some drinks with colleagues, friends and family . Watch the boats go by or the wild life. A Swan just passed by and I have seen the Thames residence seal in summer months. A great place to be and enjoy a drink either alone or with company. Must visit place
C. C.
Was lucky enough to get a table along the Thames, the view was amazing and it was a nice day. Ordered food which came fairly quickly, smashed avocado on toast and cod coujons. Couldn’t fault the food. Great bar, great location.
p. s.
Walked in and the place was stacked, busy as can be and if that's the case then yep must be a good pub and it is. Great location and well kept beer with friendly staff. Ill be popping back in when I'm walking along the southbank, but next time more beer and some food. Great little Pub.
S. B.
nice place.. by the Thames river..
S. B.
Decent spot on the side of the Thames. If the sun is out you can guarantee the outside area will be packed! Bar snacks are pretty decent - not eaten from the main menu. Toilets (gents) are tiny and very cosy, but a decent pub overall.
P. Y.
Lovely place, with a great atmosphere and friendly staff.
R. C.
Great service. Take the kids there. Baby chairs available.
m. r.
Lovely pub on the river Thames
T. T.
Whaat cannot knock this place security is soooo dreamy she was seriously nice made man feel so at home explained the track and trace, thank you so much Ms Chelsea made my first outing post corona feel somewhere near normal. Well done
J. H.
Great food
Beer excellent
Staff helpful and friendly
Must do something about the gents though
D. P. G.
Nice place great location good service ❤
K. W.
Lovely location and décor, the view is nice and the area full of interesting things to see, do and eat. Not cheap, but I think average for London. Food was ok, nothing awful but certainly nothing memorable. A nice place to rest the feet.
D. B.
Trip down memory lane for me as this was my first pub I worked on in my joinery life , the staff were excellent in these awkward times .
J. M. (.
Nice atmosphere especially outdoor seat with Thames view.
Food is standard.
L. N. K.
Lovely rustic pub.
I ordered the vegan pie and it was very nice. Came with a side of garden vegetables.
Not recommended for people with low salt dietary requirements as it was borderline too salty. Even the gravy.
Attentive staff and fantastic views!
R. V.
Bit of a tourist trap with lots of tables overlooking the Thames. It is busy and not the cleanest spot but it is nice to sit by the water. Grab a couple beers but I generally wouldn't stay for the food. There are many good options including Borough market nearby.
M. D.
Had such an amazing experience in the pub. I usually wouldn’t leave reviews but the staff were so lovely. It was my birthday and we stumbled upon the pub through borough market. They couldn’t have been better we have amazing food and the view is incredible. I will definitely be back !
I.
Quality boozer.
Helpful friendly staff.
Great pint of Mild.
Good selection of other beers.
Busy but not overcrowded.
Served in good time at the bar.
Separate dining only area.
B. E.
Great pints, good food, friendly service, and beautiful views
H. J.
Great Location opposite the Thames. Staff are friendly and building has a naval feel. Wooden interior but with class. Outdoor seating available which will become very popular during the summer. Borough market around the corner serving street food...however food is available inside.
Drinks are a little on the pricey side. But I guess your paying for location.
Definitely work taking a trip if for just the views and atmosphere.
G. F.
Very nice place for a pint and a dinner.
Been many times and always happy to come back. Staff friendly and the food is always good.
Will be back soon.
A. B.
Bit of a relatively unknown gem. Really enjoyed the food and the staff were very friendly. Great terrace onto the river.
J. H.
Excellent staff. Drinks menu doesn't have all the prices on.
K. Y.
A great location and fun atmosphere! Especially nice to get seated at a table right away on a busy and rainy Saturday afternoon. Service was a tad slow, but by no means close to the worst I've experienced in the UK. Food and drinks were tasty with many options, exactly what you would want for a great pub experience!
R. L.
Taking one star off for poor service. It was hardly full, and I made eye contact more than once with wait staff, yet it took close to fifteen minutes for a waiter to come to my table. They were out of Sunday roast and steak pies, so I settled for their special of the day, beef rib pie. Decent, but hardly any filling and the veg was undercooked
A. K.
Lovely pub. Relaxed atmosphere, quick service. Great location.
K. J.
We came by yesterday and we were not dissaponted . Downstairs is beautifuly decorated and it makes u feel that Christmas atmosphere already. Food is tasty and big portions . Lady who served us was polite and she made some great recommendations.
Y. P.
An old favourite on the river, not to be missed.
V. M.
Location very good, selection of drinks very good. Dropped points as the food was disappointing. The kids sausages were over cooked and a bit dry, adult burger had a good flavour but was a bit cold and chips were overcooked and greasy, the adult Ocean fish and chips was greasy and the chips overcooked. Based on other reviews, we may have just been unlucky.
K. A.
Love the ambience. Great view if you sit outside. Went there for lunch and dinner. Love it! Staff were nice, food were great!! Really love the fish and chips!
R. F.
Great location on the river but high prices. Make sure you keep an eye on your belongings as petty crime is rife. Can be very busy after work and on warm sunny days. Lots of tourists.
D. G.
Pretty good pub in all. It does get incredibly busy after work so it's someone's difficult to find a seat or order a drink but that is London in general.
They have a basement with extra seats but it smells quite badly of damp being right next to the Thames in a basement.
It's by no means cheap but prices are reasonable.
M. M.
lovely old bar nice atmosphere
S. B.
Great old mans pub in London. If you like you ales and beers, with an old fashioned twist then this is the place for you. Service is great and the staff are super friendly. Definitely go for chilled out drinks and banter by the river. They have an excellent outside area in the summer as well
C. T.
Excellent pub along the Thames River, friendly service and great variety of beers and wines. Staff were very helpful too! Will definitely be back again!
A. F.
Lovely food. Lovely setting
T. A.
Had a quick few beers here mid-afternoon after shopping and eating at Borough market for lunch. Historic spot right on the river with great views across of the London skyline. Outdoor seating was perfect for a hot summer day.
K. Y.
Lovely pub by the river. Great view of London from the outside where seatings are available. Was crowded when I was there, but it was close to Christmas. Great atmosphere regardless. Watch out for the mistletoe, if you go during Christmas time. :)
C. C.
Visited during covid. Outside area was well taken care of. Booking was simple, and the food was lovely.
K. R.
This is my favourite pub in whole London. The place is amazing, the atmosphere is perfect for a dinner with family or close friends. Food is soo tasty. Meat there is well-prepared and steaks are just delicious. It's very hard sometimes to get a table but it's worthy!
C. S.
The views from the balcony over looking the river are excellent.
Although on the Cask Marquee Ale Trail, the pint I had was a bit iffy - not enough to complain about, possibly getting near the end of the barrel.
The staff seemed a bit morose this day - probably the heat. It was a scorcher this Monday.
D. K.
Really good service, despite being really busy! Knowledgeable, polite, friendly, professional & efficient. Brilliant location on Thames South Bank. Only possible criticism was that my burger patties were a bit more well done than I prefer....
D. X.
Nice pub to jump in due walking by the Thames
A. H.
It's one of my favourite pubs Bankside. There are many in the area but this has a unique style and space. There's a large area outside which is great in the summer as it is right on the river and it's a great place to relax after work. Inside there's a long bar and a downstairs space which is popular for watching sports or playing board games. Pretty good drink options too.
n. v.
We stopped off here during our walk along the south bank on a lovely sunny afternoon and sat outside with a pint. It's a Nicholson’s pub so the draft choice is good. The staff have been on all the occasions I have visited here a bit grumpy. It gets very busy as its popular with the tourists.
The pub is situated right next to the Golden Hind with a large outdoor seating area. Lovely on a sunny day!
M. S.
I love this pub. Makes you feel at home... The homemade crisps are amazing. Cosy on the inside. Outside, you get great views and a lovely place to sit by the river and enjoy good beer. What more could you ask for?
A. D.
An odd one thus. The location next to the Thames means that on a sunny day it's very different to a rainy day here. There are always a few tourists mixed with a few workers for lunch and evening drinks.
The decor and staff is straight forward. If you want a no nonsense pint and quick bite this is your place. I would only go here for the view as food options are better around especially with borough market close to
J. L.
Lovely spot to sit in the Thames with a drink.
J. F.
Fine selection of beers 🍻 Friendly staff and great fish and chips
M. K.
Nothing better than sitting at an outside table, with a pint of Doombar, enjoying the view.Whilst tucking into a Hunters chicken meal.
Food, and drink prices reasonable, compared to other central London pubs.Particularly if the offer of 25% off,I downloaded from the website,is still active for first-time customers, for food and drink up to 6 people.
Will certainly be back in the future, when in the London Bridge area.
S. H.
A beautiful place with a amazing view! The staff was a bit overworked when we were there so not too helpful nore friendly. But The place itself is really nice. A good place for a beer.
T. B.
Loved my first pint after the lockdown . Lovely cold Camden lager with hallumi fries 😃
R. B.
Wonderful pub in a great location, great selection of drinks and we had lunch, we can recommend the clubsandwich, the root vegetable pot and the Nicholson fish and chips, delicious
P. H.
Good pub which is a short walk away from London Bridge station. Outside seating area has an excellent view of the Thames and surrounding area. Good atmosphere inside with a variety of drinks (including ales) to choose from. There are a few TV screens inside showing the occasional sport.
A. B.
Expect high waiting times during lunch hours and for schools visiting the area it is a good place to eat at. Be aware there have been issues with misplaced food orders and there has been problems with locked doors on the toilets.
E. C.
Great food and excellent service. Plenty of staff available, serving with a smile, very helpful.
Kids menu of 2 courses £5.95 with 'real' food my 3 and 6 year old had fish and chips - good sized portions.
Handmade Pies £11 - £14 with mash and veg , delicious.
Triple cooked chips to die for!
Good range of ales.
Good for families
Outside seating to drink or eat right on the river .
Travel here on the Thames Clipper getting off at Bankside - if facing the Globe walk left , follow the river for about 5 mins walk.
(Let me know if you found this helpful!)
R. W.
Nice pub right next to Borough market
K. S.
It's a chain, they're all over the city but this location in particular was probably our least favorite as service was atrocious and the food was not seasoned. We flagged someone to get orders and they asked us what we wanted for food but hadn't even brought over any menus, it took at least 45 minutes to get drinks so we realized it was faster to get it at the bar, they were out of most menu items and overall every server we were able to grab to get service didn't know any answers -- what's on draft? What's the specials? The check process was also difficult as we were a table of 9 and people forgot what they ordered and they don't operate one server per section so anything we asked for or communicated wasn't followed
It was a mess but we made the best of it, I would only rec for going for a quick pint and that's about it
M. D.
Beautiful pub just in front of the river with stunning views of the city. They have a good selection of beers and the food is of average quality but still good. If not cold sitting on the outside and drinking a beer is a joy
F. F.
Great location, lovely looking. The staff on the other hand? Well, only had a quick chat with who I believe was the manager. The most unhelpful, scruffy, homophobic, racist little man I have met in the service industry for ages.
I only asked where I could buy cigarettes locally and was asked about 'foreigners' and asked if I was a 'poof'. Maybe he just fancied me.
L. C.
Excellent views over the Thames. Can get a little crowded.
T. C.
A pint with great views over Thames.
A. D.
Would have given 4 stars if the door that leads to the riverside seating swung shut! Drives customers mad having to get up and close the doors to keep warm in chilly weather. Staff appear to ignore the issue even though it has been pointed out several times by different customers. That aside, not bad.
C. C.
Went there 2 nights in a row. Great outdoor space overlooking the river.

The service upstairs was good but downstairs was okish. The food was cold and bland. We were a table of 12 and everyone felt disappointed about the food. Nice place to pop in and have a drink but not for having a meal.

5 of us went for informal meet up for lunch and drinks. It was a Saturday 1pm so it was busy. We were very fortunate to find a table inside & by the window. They did not take bookings in advance on a Saturday. I had a pint of Fathom dark ale and chicken burger. I did ask if I could have a 'normal' bun instead of a brioche bun, but they could not accommodate. It did not matter as the bun was very nice & I was glad they did not change it. In future I may even request brioche buns! The burger came with a good size portion of chips that were crispy on the outside & fluffy inside. I thought the chicken fillet was nicely cooked and not dry as has been the case in other pubs were I have had such burgers & therefore not enjoyed them. But I thoroughly enjoyed it here with mustard, mayo & ketchup accompaniments that I requested for the chips. Even though the pub was busy I felt very comfortable with a nice jolly relaxed atmosphere. The staff were pleasant & were able to carry out their duties efficiently in such a busy environment. I felt the prices were reasonable given the lovely location by the river & next to the replica of the Golden Hinde. I would definitely visit again next time if I am in the vicinity even if just to have a pint of Fathom.
Dear Owner, sorry if you feel my review suggests I did not like your pub. This is definitely NOT the case. To clarify, we had a good time, enjoyed the food, staff were pleasant, & I look forward to visit it again hence the 4* rating.

Been here a few times when in London. Great Riverside pub

Good food, friendly service and great views over the Thames.

The service and the food was quite good. The view is amazing and we had a great time. The prices are fair as well. Would find it better to see the prices for the beers and other drinks in the menu.

We had lunch here and loved it. Great food, loved the skinny fries ! Guilty pleasure 😌 Very nice people working here. We were served by polish girl, very friendly and kind.

Generally packed pub right on the Thames close to London Bridge. What you'd expect from the area given that a replica of Drake's ship is docked immediately outside. Good range of beers with downstairs seating when it gets really busy which is often. Standard range of pub food on offer. Nothing to make it stand out but a pretty solid place to drink especially in the summer when the decking area outside offers comfortable views of the Thames with plenty of options for exploration around Southwark close by.

The doorman had a bit of an attitude and the app to order didn't work in my android. Waiting staff good and kind

A great location on the banks of the River Thames with great views of some famous London landmarks. Lots of outdoor seating, a good assortment of drinks and a nice menu at a very reasonable price - considering it's central London. Close to Borough Market and London Bridge. Worth a visit.

The Waitress could not be more helpful.
Lovely homemade food .

Beautiful view of the Thames

Beautiful pub next to river Thames. We came in a very cold day and had some great food and drinks. Not overpriced and portions very generous, staff friendly and knowledgeable about products they sell. Will be back in the future.

A nice London pub on the banks of the river Thames. Outside seating by the river and also next to a replica of the Golden Hind.
Good beer selection including the now standard offerings of Camden pale ale and lager.

Very friendly staff and good food, also a brilliant location, not a traditional pub but makes up for it with good service!

Super efficient service. Great prices and clean environment

Good location, plenty of space good choice of beverages. Only downside is outdoors seats tables are minimum for four, but there are many couples going so if there is just a two of you and want to seat outside prepare to share a table with someone else

Met up in here to have a few drinks with some old friends. The pub is welcoming enough and we were able to find some seats even though it was busy. I was initially drinking Peroni which was thankfully served in a Peroni glass (Peroni drinks will understand). However the pint did not taste right so I took it back and they gave me a fresh one but this was not right either so they offered me something else with no fuss. We stayed in the bar for around 4 hours and the atmosphere was fine and people were managing to get served without waiting too long in a busy bar. If you want a place by the Thames I would recommend it.

Average pub food, as ever service could be improved. Our server did at least try to carry a little enthusiasm into our choices though a few of our party had to have their 3rd choice due to lack of availability.

This is beautiful pub in the most amazing location by the river. It is very busy place but well worth visiting. Staff is fast and friendly and beer is cold. It is perfect place for cold pint in the hot city.

Met up with a few mates from the city here on Friday , I was very impressed never had to wait long at the bar for a drink , they’ve a huge rang of drinks and I’m a gin fan and I think they have 30 different gins .
One of the lads ordering a sharing platter and that was really nice.
I will be back

Great location but the tables were a bit wobbly and after a few too many by some, it can get a bit messy, beer EVERYWHERE. A great place for drinks and a bit of a laugh along the Thames. Bring a jacket! Self service wherever you sit.

Cheesy London at its best, as the location points out. I like this place, you cannot really beat the river view, especially around dusk. It is very pleasant for a drink after work. It can get very busy at times (mainly every afternoon when the weather is half-decent).

I liked fish and chips and Nicholson Pale Ale because fish was battered using this ale. It was perfect match. Thank you to our waitress Olimpia who made recommendations. And yes, we needed that bread and butter :):):)

Great experience, cozy, charming, very busy, food was delicious ( beef rib pie yummy) and staff had great customer services even though slammed. Thank you Kristos, very hard working but always a smile and kindness

Good but not excellent. The food is not worth the high prices. This is understandable because it's right in in the center of tourist area. If you also want some atmosphere and nice view of Thames, it's OK.

We went there for a meal and my cousin's bag got stolen. When we reported it they said they would look into it but told us that they didn't see it. Turns out the bag was indeed stolen at the pub... please beware when dining here..

Great bar! Lovely location, nice choice of drinks and food with a fabulous table service.
