Reviews of The Oystercatcher
G. E.
Lovely Riverside pub with great views over the River Thames and London.
We sat outside on the heated patio soaking in the busy riverside views and watching the world go by.
Had an excellent pub snack and great coffee.
We will be going back and am looking forward to a proper meal as the menu was very tempting!

I spent a really lovely afternoon, that rolled into a great evening here. We had the 3course bottomless brunch. Starting with fresh made hummus and bread, honey mustard sausages (the best) and calamari. Then breakfast burger and hash browns, ending with churros and cheescake in a jar. The food was very tasty, interesting chrizo flavours in the buger. A very filling meal.
Our glasses were regularly filled 🥂 also comes with a small jug of fresh peach puree and raspberry puree to add to your prosecco if you wish.
We also had various cocktails, a rhubarb gin which was delicious and coffee martini.
Service was excellent, could not fault the attentive staff. I thought the cost was very reasonable for the amount of food, drink, location etc.
We sat upstairs, the view was lovely, as one would expect. I will definitely be returning.

The oyster catcher is absolutely outstanding, from the food, to the service and to all the little details. We had a surprise party and Tom and his team was so helpful, caring and catered to all our needs. The food portions were huge, tasty and beautifully presented. The restaurant is stunning, we had the best time. Oyster catcher is a great place to eat and celebrate.
Thank you so much to whole team, you really made our night so special.
J. R.
Well mixed traditional pub features of wood and leather with the modern floor to ceiling glass to allow views of the Thames.
It is more homely inside than the external structure let's on. Great outdoor seating areas on comfortable cushions, by the river, under heating lamps.
S. F.
Excellent food and service, in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately we did not get our waitresses name (lovely American girl) but she could not have done enough for us. Could not recommend enough and we will be back. A great addition to the area.
S. A.
Am new to this bottomles. But it is the best bottomless brunch 😊. 5 star customer service, broad range of veggie option. definitely going back again.
J. L.
The food presentation was great but it was salty and mediocre, definitely not worth the price. However, the staffs were helpful and very nice. But really you come here for the view as it’s by the river and drinks.

I love this place. The view on the terrace is breathtaking and the food is really nice. Please do order the buttermilk fried chicken and the cheese burger. Absolutely delicious!
Staff was really nice as well. A blonde lady served us yesterday night but unfortunately I forgot to ask the name. She made sure everything was on n point and service was very fast as well. Thank you for organising the little surprise for my partner, very nice of you!
N. D.
The restaurant is nicely done out and decorated with great views across the Thames and the staff are friendly. Food overall was good, but could have improved in a few areas. Overall a good experience. Will be visiting again
M. U.
Amazing restaurant by the river side with a beautiful view. I really enjoyed my food; it was delicious and well spiced. The cocktails were great.
D. B.
Best fish and chips I've had in London. Great service and location too. Bit pricey but worth it for sure.
S. C.
Came later but enjoyed a lively chicken roast! I was craving some chips with it instead of the roast potatoes and it was easily swapped. Excellent!!
J. B.
Completely charming service and a lovely meal with a gorgeous night skyline view on the lower floor. In particular, the deep fried starters were outstanding: calamari, crispy chicken and lobster arancini were the best we’ve ever had. I was gutted to miss out on the churros!
P. S.
Nice atmosphere, the staff is nice and polite, the place is really well located by the river. We had lunch outside looking at the river😊
D. W.
Very friendly staff. We asked for oysters as these were not in the regular menu (depending of their delivery), delicious! My friend tried for the first time and was amazed. We had half lobster and burger with calamari. Both mains tasted good, £10 each with eat out help out option. I would not pay full price for them though, especially for only half lobster. Calamari very greasy and over fired. Good place with nice views next to Thames. Must come for sunset!
A. P.
Great spot for a Sunday roast! Amaaazing service (10/10) and stunning views! It is also a dog friendly pub.
Having read the Google reviews before going we had our qualms however were pleasantly surprised! The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience and gave us four extra giant Yorkshire puds when we asked for one! (They were not wasted). The roast was also delicious - had the sirloin and it is something that is difficult to get right in a lot of places but the meat was cooked perfectly. The Yorkshire puds were gigantic and delicious. The gravy was generously served. The sides and roast were also really well proportioned!
Great first visit - will definitely come again!
P. B.
Good food with vegan options for our family lunch. Views over the Thames from our upstairs table by the window. Friendly and efficient service. Thank you.
L. K.
This place has recently opened spring 2019. It has a decent outside seating area that catches the sun. The food here is pretty good too. What I really like about this place is the service which is really good. The example I have is; My wife asked for a Salad without onions they then asked whether she had an allergy to onions as the burger she was ordering had onions mixed into the patties. Good considerate service.
A. N.
It wa fairly good despite a menu that's a bit limited in the dining area. The view definitely is the strength of the pub!
I. Q.
Great for a little tipple next to the Thames. The outdoor heating will keep you warm unless it's windy.
The food was average but on the good side. However, do not order the calamari or or onion rings. The batter is overly satly to the point of repulsion.
If you sit outside, be warned, there's a lot of foot and pedal traffic here so either you'll enjoy people watching or just munch at your food.
A. C.
I generally prefer traditional pubs, but... the beer (their own pale ale) was superb, service quick, friendly, and efficient, and you can't beat the location (on the Thames riverfront) - especially whilst sitting outside. Recommended.
A. D.
Lovely venue, delicious food and great service. The bottomless brunch is highly recommended, will definitely visit again! Big thanks to Tom our waiter, and 2 other gorgeous girls (sorry I didn't catch your names!)
W. K.
Great menu, tasty food, very attentive and friendly staff. The only reservations I've had after our second visit here is undercooked roast and the fact we weren't allowed on the 1st floor
N. C.
Such a lovey find in the heart of greenwich! I was hunting for a good
spot to have my Baby shower and The Oystercatcher delivered!
I hired the top floor for privacy and was presented with stunning views of London. Laura and her team were so accommodating to all our needs which made the day even more special.
Staff were so attentive on the day and no requests was too big. I had 60 People attend so it wasn't a small party.
Thank you for making the day perfect! I will be returning
E. M.
We were in search for the place, where we could celebrate our graduation which was held online (where we could bring a laptop 💻) and once I’ve came across Oystercatcher with its amazing view, amazing and friendly staff, with the option to sit outside in covered area with heaters and inside with amazing view of the river Thames and the Canary Wharf I knew that it’s the perfect place, and became one of my favourites.
The added bonus was that they also do Bottomless Prosecco brunch from 12pm till 4pm!
Want to say a special thank you to Karim and Roza who are always there to create such a caring and welcoming atmosphere and a special thanks to the manger on the day who helped us with the WiFi !
Everyone was impressed with the atmosphere in this place, the friendliness of staff and amazing service! I would definitely recommend this place for any occasion any day of the year as there are always so many great options to suit everyone and make your visit very pleasant and memorable with great memories.
A. I.
Amazing place. Wonderful view. We had shrimps as starters, tasted really nice and fresh with a delicious lemon and herbs mayonnaise. The mains were great too. I'd really recommend the short rib cheeseburger, full of flavours and cooked perfectly. Service really nice, a bit slow to take the order, but quick to serve.
A. S.
Hi,
I visited your restaurant yesterday for the EURO finals and it was an absolute blast! We’ve received fantastic service and the food was great. Marika was able to accommodate us at a very busy time and her service was spot on, our table was always clean, drinks and water were constantly flowing and we were even asked for last orders when kitchen was closing which was perfect as we were planning to get more food later on, however obviously were more focused on the football match rather than anything else. Will definitely come back soon with great pleasure, she’s definitely made our evening more than amazing!
O. U.
Situated on Victoria parade,Greenwich and overlooking the thames river waterfront, this family pub opened shop last month April 2019. Split on two(2) floors with the dinning area located on the upperfloor. Great ambience, ample outdoor sitting area and serving great food. Staff were curtious and our food orders came on time. Good for family eat out.
S. J.
Friendly and welcoming staff.
Food amazing
Lovely view
J. A. (.
Great food, location. Excellent customer service with very friendly staff. I recommend anytime for good cocktail and food while enjoy the lovely view of the Thames. 8/10
J. C.
Excellent location with great food. If you can, get a table with views to the river. Very friendly and helpful staff.
S. I. R.
Food was OK, service not great (we sat outside and no one even bothered to give us menus, I had to go myself back in, chase a waiter and ask for the menus), but I’ve been to the same place before and service was better. Maybe this was a 1 off. The view is amazing though
y. y.
Great value for food and a wide drinks list. They do a different menu on the weekends so will be returning to try that! Big recommendation for seafood lovers and drinkers! Also Marika has 10/10 service... Oystercatcher should pay her more — wonderful time with both staff and food!
d. l.
I luv Oyster Catcher bar/restaurant my fave in Greenwich.....Best view lovely staff.....
E. B.
I would like to share big recomendation this restorant and amazing staff that was so helpfull Zsuzsi and Csilla! This is example of exelant customer service defenitly will return to this place !
G. S.
Had a half chicken. Not the best. Very small chicken and just dry and poor presentation. Was told they had marinated for 24hrs. I returned it. To their credit they offered me a free alternative. I did not accept and paid for a fish dish which was much butter..
N. H.
Very nice lunch overlooking the river. Good, friendly, prompt service. Decent beers, though no cask ales available...
E. L.
Good food, very personable service, with outdoor seating kept cosy through the winter with effective overhead heating. Will certainly be back
S. M.
Had a visit at The Oystercatcher yesterday. Was passing by with friends in search of watching ENG game, Marika greeted us at reception and managed to squeeze 3 of us for the match. Which was awesome, we didn't plan to eat, but got hungry after few pints and had a Sunday roast. Which was very nice, I definitely enjoyed it and will come back. Service was spot on, never had to wait to order a drink. As well as Marika was always making sure we have everything we needed. Amazing evening with friends and all thanks to Marika
M. G.
Thank you so much for a fabulous birthday 🎂 lunch, our local pub, managed superbly by Tom and his amazing staff, we've really enjoyed it and would recommend to all
S. C.
We spent Sunday afternoon watching the world and boats go by. The staff make this place - especially Marika who was professional, helpful, happy and clearly enjoying doing a great job. The service was absolutely standout for what could easily have been a tourist trap.
Food was also very good - short menu (might be as it was Sunday?) but I'd personally rather they did fewer things very well - and that works here.
We shared starters and then one of us the roast and the rest swordfish niçoise - all fresh and well prepared.
Marika and her colleagues made the afternoon an enjoyable one and if I worked in hospitality I'd be offering her a job right there and then!
W. K.
4 stars for the service as every person there made us feel special. I liked that the menu in upstairs restaurant is small, so o don't have to spend hours deciding. Oysters were delicious. One star is taken away because my food was so sooo salty that at some point I didn't even know what I was eating. Shame as for small menu I was hoping execution will b spot on. Beef tartare was cut with butter knife it seemed, big chunks made it chewy, though in this case seasoning was on point at least.
C. N.
Another experience of the post covid culture. Do NOT presume everyone has a payment card. Or at least have a prominent sign indicating this. Had I declined to pay contactless, maybe management might like to let me know the procedure? Summon the police? An excellent establishment otherwise, and I know I'm a minority now, but the experience was spoiled by my inability to pay cash. Sort it please.
T.
The lady on front of house was quite grumpy and a bite rude, which isn't a nice greeting to receive. However, the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely. We went for a drink after work and they have a good range of options. The terrace in front of the river is heated and there are also non-heated tables just in front of the restaurant. Great view, super casual and relaxed. It's a perfect option to get away from the busier Greenwich vibes.
M. S.
I love the place and I booked more than a month ago ahead of the lockdown lift to come enjoy a meal and a pint here. Unfortunately we were seated in the uncovered, unheated area and as the sun went down, it became freezing. I would have expected them to be a bit more prepared ahead of the reopening but they just decided to arbitrarily treat customers differently.
The service and food is great otherwise!
I. P.
My 1st visit was today for Sunday Roast, did not plan to have anything else, but Marika convinced me to try their Buttermilk chicken as a starter and I got to say I do not regret that at all. Food was cooked well and great quality for value. Service was quick and efficient. Marika was looking after my table and gave the best customer service I've had in a long time. Can't wait to be back for experience of 2nd floor and upcoming new Menu! Highly recommended 👌 I would recommend to get blankets or more heaters though.
V. C.
Beautiful river view. The food was delicious. Will definitely come back.
M. J.
After a bumpy start regarding where we were seated and our order being taken. The Supervisor Mireeka(I think that was her name) went above and beyond to make our night special with amazing personal service rectifying all issues and serving us with some truly delicious food. She really made our family night out thank you for that. Great night great service and great food.
H. N.
My favourite riverside restaurant in Greenwich.Good selection of food and drinks.Service is prompt and efficient. The staff are knowledgeable.Prices are affordable. There are seating upstairs, downstairs and outside. If you have any special dietary requirements, please speak to a member of the staff or restaurant manager.Thank you

It’s ok
R. T.
Love the seatting, good service and the views are amazing. The food was some of the best iv had to be fair, highly recommend the steak but the sea food also looked amazing.
S.
Good food. Slightly pricey for portions but delicious and probably reflective of the location with spectacular views of the wharf.
Dog friendly
Helpful lovely staff
Would definitely go again
E. S.
Oystercatcher is the best one for us to have a couple of beers or dinner. Especially if you don’t like to sit out on cold weather you can press this magic button and heat up your table from above heaters. Food is generally good except oil needs to change more often since we couldn’t eat anything fried last time.
Thanks to Marika we always enjoy it there..
S. H.
We went on a Monday. We booked with short notice & service was great the swordfish was cooked perfectly. I requested a chilli margarita even if it wasn’t on the menu and they made one for me within a few minutes. Sadly We was 1 day early for the oyster delivery but definitely will be back soon!!
S. B.
Good atmosphere, beautiful view, cozy place, friendly staff, high prices
J. H.
We had a really nice lunch here. Food was good. Drinks good. Great service. A little expensive, but hey you are right next to the river. Will very likely return sometime in the future. So why only 4 stars? When we sat down the table was dirty, but was promptly cleaned. However under the table were old napkins, used sugar sachets, lots of crumbs etc. They really need to do better cleaning between customers.
k.
Lovely place for drinks and meals. Tasty and well presented food, good service, glorious view of the river and the city skyline away from the busy Cutty Sark area. Spacious with atmospheric lighting. Highly recommended for weekday or weekend lunch/dinner, drinks after work, even date night. Try it at sunset. I wish the food menu was more extensive, but I guess it's in line with other similar style places
C.
Lovely restaurant on the river side. Great views, can sit outside with heaters, best to book in advance. Limited menu at the moment, but more to come on in May. Very nice food and friendly service.
T. B.
It was ok. Food was good and service was good but I wasn't blown away and wouldn't book but would go again for ease.
T. A.
Great first pub lunch after lockdown. Great beer from Battersea brewery, excellent food and sitting under the heaters on the front was just perfection. Pricey, but worth every penny. See you again soon!
I. P.
The food was very good, fish was fresh and the staff were amazing!!!!!! Highly recommended to anybody to try....
Thank you guys for a pleasant stay .❤❤❤

J. D.
Really nice place. Accept we booked a table and we had to sit out front away from the heaters and some walk ins came past and got the table with a heater. Apart from this I like it there!
a. l.
Chilled spot, not to busy. Haven't tried food yet but looked good.
M. K.
New restaurant with all kind of wines, beer and food at bank of Ricer Thames.
j. s.
Upstairs restaurant. Great view. Calm. Really good food. Who knew you could have a lobster burger?! Excellent experience
K.
Service was really disappointing. The waitress that served us was unbelievable rude and made everything seem like a huge effort. Her go-to phrase for everything was a grunted 'yeh' and even the customers on the neighbouring table were in agreement about this. Otherwise food was nice but not worth the price for the main which was a glorified crab sandwich in all honesty.
C.
Place very nice menues good, but service today was not great ... slow, disjointed and I was told that I have to ask for garnish with my gin although it is on drinks menu ... even after asking I have not received what It supposed to be 😕😕😕😕
P. C.
Surprisingly nice new pub overlooking the river. I guess this justifies their drink prices. Lovely on a summer day.
G. D.
Good breakfast and coffee, staff was attentive and really enjoyed the relaxing vibe and views to the river.
J. K.
I have been to The OysterCatcher twice in the last month with large groups. Both times the food and service were great. The roasts are excellent and they have a good selection of beers. The staff were very accommodating and helpful , particularly Alex who was in charge of our table! The actual venue is really smart and there is a great view to take in whilst you eat and drink !
M. K.
New restaurant with all kind of wines, beer and food at bank of Ricer Thames.
D. S.
Excellent food, great river view. Better of the two pubs on this stretch
G. T.
The place recently opened and the food is truly delicious (brownie points for the chef here)! You get the enjoy incredible views for a very fair price..it's a little gem for the connoisseurs. Only advice would be improving the service...it can be slow or not too precise with orders.
M.
Nice view, fair price, good service
J. S.
Great meals enjoyed here, both upstairs in the restaurant section and downstairs by the bar. Amazing view and excellent service. The food menu has a great, broad selection and the dishes we've tried have been excellent. A cool cocktail selection but the wine list seemed perhaps a bit short. Looking forward to going back.
L. V. T.
Very nice food and friendly waiters.
I. P.
The food was very good, fish was fresh and the staff were amazing!!!!!! Highly recommended to anybody to try....
Thank you guys for a pleasant stay .❤❤❤
K. B.
Nice place on a sunny day by the river Thames. you have to order at bar. Food ok, but no sign of any staff wearing face masks or any requirement for anyone to do so whether sitting in or outside at any time. This on the day the 6 people rule came into force.
A. R.
Great wine list, dog friendly and lovely views. It can be pricey, but lovely for a treat. They do have some deals, such as the bubbly brunch deal - I can't wait to try!
A. B.
Popped in for a few drinks last weekend and ended up staying for early dinner. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious! We shared a whole chicken which was gorgeous and a very generous portion. Will definitely be back soon.
V. T.
Been here 2 times. First time was shortly after it was opened and it was great. Salmon and lamb were superb. Second time was half a year later it was awful. Burger patty was so overcooked the juices were all gone. Wasn’t expecting such a big difference.
t. b.
Lovely views but we were not told the kitchen was closed for food. We ordered drinks before that and were charged for service!
a. l.
Chilled spot, not to busy. Haven't tried food yet but looked good.
A.
Spacious, baby-friendly, good customer service - very accommodating and good platter foods. Would definitely go back again to try the meals. The drinks/cocktails were good as well
A. D.
Popped in for lunch on 15th. Eat out menu still running. £10 per burger.
Good great, service on point, great view of the Thames on the sunshine.
O. Y.
The perfect spot to while the afternoons away - warm and welcoming crew and a great selection of beer.
E. B.
Absolutely lovely on a summers evening for casual drinks and food - great view if along the river front. Nice menu, not a massive menu - just enough choice.
F. J.
The roast beef was the best I've had in the local area. Reasonable choice of beer. Friendly staff.
S. W.
Disappointing and should have been better. Very little seafood / fish choice on the menu for this type of restaurant.
Staff got drinks order wrong and starters were well over cooked.
Steak was nice and tender however the rest of the meal was overly salty.
D. P.
Great food and service,nice views
P. C.
Nice friendly place helpful staff great views if you're a visitor.
B. P.
Had bottomless brunch here and it was great. The staff are amazing and really friendly. Even with social distancing it felt like it was a normal day. Will definitely come back.
T. R. F.
Excellent! Great table at a window overlooking the Thames. Prompt service and the food was great. We ordered the cote de beouf and it was the tastiest beef I've eaten in a long time
S. P.
A lovely Riverside Pub with a great restaurant and outside space. Friendly staff providing knowledgeable unpretentious service working for a very friendly hands on Manager. My new favourite
M. W.
Nice location, ok service, but food was way below average, though prices were way above. Xmas turket was 4 pieces of thinly sliced bird with some awful gravy. Bachelor pad level of cooking; could easily do better at home (hard to do much worse). Nice decor, and as before, service was ok, tending on good. Food was the let down.
M. M.
Nice pub by the river with quality food - highly recommend the vegan burger! So tasty.
J. K.
Love it! Really great food, always fresh and tasty. Can be a bit pricey. Can't speak about the oysters and I see people complain about them. I found sunday roast portion sizes to be small vis a vis price.
P. B.
Lovely place and amazing food, attentive waiters but very slow! It took them a while to serve the food and we were with a bay so it wasn’t very helpful. Generally nice place, service can be improved though.
C. J.
Great food good wine list and great view's.. We shall be back !
S. W.
I am local and have visited a couple of times. Staff are great (surprised by other reviews here), food on the other hand is needs a little more improvement. The lobster sandwich (£18) has very little lobster on it yet far too much vinagary topping. Steak is ok. Let’s get a few more oysters on the menu. Great location
A. B.
Lovely position,great food and staff
J. F.
Relaxed atmosphere and a good view. Staff were helpful and friendly.
M. V.
Fabulous outside space, super views, attentive well organized staff and service. Loo' s spotless every time. Great food

My favourite local pub! A lot of outdoor space (with heaters), very nice staff and incredible views 🍻

Excellent service during prosecco brunch. Felt very welcome and staff were friendly. Food was fantastic.
E. E.
Quiet (lockdown lol). Very polite, helpful, and friendly staff. Food was at the better end of pub food
G. B.
Great view to enjoy the sunset with a draft beer. Bit overbooked but accommodating.
D. T.
Lovely ambiance, decent menu and very delicious food. Would definitely recommend and will certainly return 👍
N. B.
Been here twice in one month lovely for a quick catch up. Bottomless prosecco is very good as your glass is never empty
M.
Location is amazing! On the Thames. Good drinks selection and nice staff. Food was decent. Great to watch the sunset
J. C.
Great pub, good selection of beers and wines and right on the Thames with plenty of seats outside. The food is good, the rotisserie chicken was great.
N. D.
Amazing food great drink great service
A. K.
Thank you JuJu for the excellent customer service!! Great vegan burger, too
P. M. H. S.
A great brunch, good quality produce and beautifully cooked. All with nice river views. Would definitely recommend
A. S.
The oysters are fresh and flavoursome, the lobster too although small. I found the fish soup to be of a rather thick texture and the sole was bland
S. D.
Was quite nice a bit disappointed to see a service charge on the bill I think it should be the customer's choice whether they tip or not
N. A.
Delicious food and gorgeous views, great service too, one of the most favourite local places !
B. T.
Beautiful terrace views of Thames, friendly staff, bit pricey!
T. F.
Good food
T. A.
Good food well priced with lovely views of the themes
G. W.
Very nice, looking across the Thames, large outdoor area, good selection of local ales, gins etc. Be back soon I would imagine.
M. D.
Great staff. Really friendly. Under pressure but they produced. Relaxed and a lovely spot by the river.
D. C.
Great service and relaxing, but lunchtime menu choices a little short.
A. S.
We had a mix of starters which were mixed in quality. Very friendly service and nice location but far better to have a roast as they looked awesome
M. L.
Very good service, fairly priced but unfortunately my burger was rare/raw.
T. H.
Lovely place right next to the Thames. Food is lovely especially the sunday roast. Price is good.
Q. C.
Phenomenal steak with a brilliant view of the isle of dogs, this fairly discrete restaurant brings a much needed quality dining experience to Greenwich

Location is wonderful, and the staff very helpful. Unfortunately the food is not great. We had the burgers, which were dry, overcooked and cold. Still had a great time though, but won’t be coming back to eat.

We had bottomless brunch. It was amazing food and truly bottomless....loads of very palatable prosecco. Our waitress (Scilla Kollo and her colleague) and service in general was totally accommodating and friendly. Best start to our fantastic day in London. Btw, views over the Thames were also fabulous. Thank you oyster catcher 🎈

(Translated) Traditional restaurant on the beach of Thames. Clean but not very cozy.

Tavanomainen ravintola Thamesin rannalla. Siisti muttei erityisen viihtyisä.
