Used this pub, a lot over the years, Used to be called the Springbok, always pop in for a pre match pint or three, before going to QPR home games, it's a typical estate pub, pretty basic but the welcome is always warm

- No mixed dormitory!!!
- No light & switch for each bed. (only 2 switch for six-bed dormitory)
- Broken window, in winter that was nightmare...
- stupid rule that you can't get shower after midnight
- no locker for precious stuff
- weak Wi-Fi in rooms
- only pleace where you can eat after 9.30 at saturady was Tesco Express
Best for lonely travelers... especially in high school age

This tavern has now become a hostel. It is a fantastic value for any London visitor. The Rangers stadium is just up the street for any football fans. We travelled to London with our three teenaged children and this hostel made our trip fun and affordable. It is about a 5 minute walk to the White City subway stop. There is a cab stand right beside the subway if you need a lift to the hostel with your luggage. The hostel itself is clean and the beds are very comfortable. The family room we booked had 3 bunk beds and all were comfortable. No aching backs in the morning from thin mattresses; even my husband said the bed was comfortable. There is a well equipped, clean kitchen with a stove, 2 small refrigerators, a kettle and microwave. There are ample pots, delph and cutlery and tables and chairs. There was also a TV in the kitchen. Tea was also provided (with teapot) but you will need your own milk.
Towels were provided free of charge. On our floor there were 2 showers and the showers were always hot.
The owner and the manager of the hostel were both very friendly and accommodating.
I did not eat or drink in the bar although I went in there once to ask for some directions. It is a lovely bar. There is free wifi in both the bar and hostel.
There are two mini grocery stores within a five to ten minute walk from the hostel, a small Sainsburys and a Tesco Express. The Tesco is open much later and they also sold sim cards and phone top ups if you need those. The selection of groceries was about the same at each place. To get to the Sainsbury's, turn left as you come out of the hostel and walk down past the stadium to the next main road. If you turn right, the Sainsbury's is about 10 to 20 yards down on your left hand side. To get to the Tesco's, turn right as you come out of the hostel (the same way you turn to get to the subway station) and walk down for about 5 minutes. Tesco's is in the ground floor of a tall office building. You can almost not see it from the road due to the fence and shrubbery surrounding the office building but you can see the sign. It is on the left hand side of the road.
There is a public park about 2 minutes walk from the hostel (enroute to the subway) which looked very nice. Unfortunately, we were so busy sightseeing we never did get to visit it but if you like to unwind in a natural setting, one is nearby.
I would highly recommend this hostel for anyone looking for London accomodation on a budget.

As a QPR fan, we all love to visit this pub particularly on match days. The DJ is great and there is a great atmosphere, plus there are many occasions when ex-QPR players come to visit and say 'hi' to the fans.
However, I was rather shocked at the prices. When this pub was the Springbok, a double spirit and a mixer was £5.40. Now they try to charge you £8.00! I also understand it's £4.50 for a pint and £3.80 for half a cider. Not cheap; a rip-off, in fact.

(Translated) About the bar I have nothing to say, as it was closed, but I loved the hostel! It is super cozy and perfect for those who want a good place to rest after long walks in London. Karol and Luís are fantastic, which made the stay even more enjoyable! It is not very central, but it has a tube station 2 minutes away, so you can quickly reach central London :) I can say that it is a place that you will miss, so I give it 5 stars: D
