Reviews of The Rose
H. B.
Amazing location. Amazing food. Great decor and interior. Awesome music and ambiance. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend the Wild Mushroom Risotto and 28 Day Aged Sirloin Sandwich.
A. H.
Went there for a birthday dinner. The quality of the beef was great. There's a limited but very good wine menu, plus plenty of options as far as cocktails are concerned. Toilets are fairly clean. Staff are friendly.
S. C.
Went to The Rose yesterday for a Sunday Roast. The vibe inside the pub was gorgeous! We got seated straight away even though it was busy & we hadn't booked. The only feedback I just want to give is that the menu inside wasn't the same as the menu online. I did quite a bit of Google searching to find somewhere that did a good vegan Roast, and the online menu says that this option is a "Vegan Wellington" (which I was looking forward to!) but the vegan Roast option that was on the menu at the venue was a "Portobello Stack"... I was expecting some sort of mushroom wellington but it was actually just 2 portobello mushrooms. Don't get me wrong, the food was tasty and the portion sizes were great, but I essentially just had a plate of vegetables.

We were invited to a private party at the Rose. Must say all staff were really lovely and worked extremely hard. Food was hot and delicious. Beautiful views of the Thames
A. F. M.
Great pub! Very funky music under the candlelights. Alejandro was a very friendly waiter and gave us great suggestions for beer and food. Totally recommended!
Y. t.
Didn't stay here long, just popped in for a pint but it was a very nice experience. This place is decorated extremely well for Christmas. It's quite stunning. It even smells of cinnamon due to the recent deployment of Muld wine. Nice job here Mr owner 👍
J. F.
Absolutely fantastic Sunday Roast. Genuinely one of the best roast dinners I've ever had. Succulent, tender meat, perfectly steamed veg, accompanied by a selection of roast veg plus roast spuds, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. We had 1 roast beef and 1 lamb, difficult to separate either one as better than the other, both excellent. Highly recommend. Nice views of the river too if you get a window seat on the embankment side.
M. R.
Amazing place with a great atmosphere. Good food, great bartenders and waiters/waitresses. Food was late and I ushered for the bill to be reduced, and we got drinks free! Had the best night ever with a special someone here. 100% coming again !
G. P.
Lovely pub across from New Cross Grate, amazing staff with quick garden service needed or bar service. Huge beer garden with the option of sports, if that is your fancy also. Quick service at the bar on a Saturday night and a great vibe overall, highly recommend 👍👍👍👍

A nice chilled out place for a pint. Had a couple whilst waiting for the other half to arrive for a late lunch/early dinner and we ordered steak which was cooked perfectly . 👍
E. R.
Beautiful place, welcoming and friendly staff. Would definitely go back. Only had a drink but the food looked lovely

Hi I came in for lunch this week and it was great. The waiter Alejandro looked after us amazingly. He also spoke 3 languages so my Spanish and Portugese friends were extremely impressed. Cant wait to come back. Loved the Halloween decorations. Thank you
J. G.
Classic friendly pub. Great staff. Also, check out the second floor, it’s a great space with beautiful views.
R. B.
Nice pub, great location. Will have to visit more often 👍🏾
D. K.
Food very good. Service needs some improvement. Although the waiters are very nice they seem a little disorganised.
M. B.
Stopped for Sunday Dinner, the roast lamb was superb, best we have seen for many years. The staff are a delight and great beer. Be back next tune in London. The views from upstairs are lively as well. Perfect end to our weekend
K. T.
We came to London on a coach trip about a month ago. Stayed at hotel near The Rose so called in a couple of times for a meal. Husband said it was the best battered fish he had eaten in a pub and other meals we had were lovely too.
P. I.
Been here just for drinks not for food. The pub was quiet on Saturday at around 14 so plenty of seat choice, with some overlooking the houses of Parliament. The 'dry January' board was a nice touch
N. C.
A wonderful old pub in London. Great food. Friendly. We sat upstairs in front of open windows with a great view down the Thames River to Parliment and the sunset.
J. B.
Wonderfully decorated for Christmas. Accomodating and friendly staff. Food very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommend
S. H.
Charming pub in a less touristy part of the city. Great service, food, and drinks and the second floor features a look of the water. Superfood salad was incredible, as were all of our entrees.
D. W.
The Rose is just down the road from where I work as a bartender so perhaps I'm a little biased but honestly it has a great atmosphere, decent and more than reasonable prices for the area
S. E.
Nice traditional pub with a fresh look. Drinks reasonably priced and attentive staff. Food was fine, not exciting but plentiful and well presented. Didn't get to sample their roast dinner but it looked pretty good too :)
S. H.
Friendly, welcoming staff. Lovely food, we had the burger of the day. It was gorgeous.
J. A.
What a quaint place ... leisurely lunch and catch up after many years ...much to share.
Delicious lunch and fab view 👍
P. S.
A traditional British pub serving delicious food with lovely background music. Great place to share with friends and pleasant vibe.
D. H.
We celebrated a wedding here. The food was superb and the staff efficient and friendly. An excellent pub and I will definitely be going back.
A. V. L.
Very generous with with Sunday roast serving.
Clean, organised. Good customer service
D. S.
This is a long overdue review for a great pub on the South Bank near Vauxhall.
Been here for drinks/lunch on a few occasions and really enjoyed the experience.
As a hobbyist model photographer, I’ve also used this place for a break whilst shooting - lunch, a drink, and somewhere for my model to change. They also welcomed the experience.
Highly recommended!
W. W.
Nice pub and great to get a takeaway pint and drink by the riverbank. Gets the sun in the eve, which is great. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Only downside is a lack of choice for beers!
T. L.
We had our wedding meal in the beautiful upstairs room at The Rose and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue and service. Robert was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to work with, our guests raved about the food and the team were very flexible when we went a bit over our planned timings! Thank you Robert and rest of the team.
H. D.
Great Pub! Fresh food, great range of drinks and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Great place!
K. K.
Fish and chips were on point. Nice staff and our table had a great view.
O. S.
Had beer and fish and chips, it was amazing. Just dont like the fact that someone who sits alone and orders at the bar is charged service fee.
Z. R.
Decent pub, came here for a Xmas meal, the food was overall good, although the dessert was burnt.
K. S.
Good restaurant with big portions. Food was tasty, friendly staff.I highly recommend this place.
n. s.
Great cocktails good service
A. C.
Great food and service, would definitely return, good atmosphere as well
D. W.
Nice location, very delicious food. Highly recommended.
G. N.
Superb London pub, fantastic decor, friendly atmosphere and staff, recommend a visit
L. G.
Wonderful place! Great menu, very English and super- tasty! Very kind personnel too. Excellent value for money
V. F.
The food was really nice. I've had fish and chips and it was delicious, well fried and tasty. My boyfriend had a beef burger and was really happy as well. Staff is nice and friendly, the only thing I didn't appreciate was the smell coming out from the bathroom each time a customer opened the door to walk in it and the fact that it was a bit too dark. But overall it has been a nice experience, I definitely recommend the fish and chips.
D. W.
Setting is beautiful and full of English charm. Their menu offers a variety of options. Their location is scenic and the pub is tasty.
S. J.
Not sure how long they've been an outfit seems a little disjointed but nice enough for a quick pint. Not a local pub only crafty lagers on tap.
H. V. D.
Nice and relaxed atmosphere taking into account current restrictions. Music was good too. However, we were slightly disappointed with our gin tonics as they were quite insipid, perhaps due to the tonic water being quite flat...
b. p.
Poor selection of beer on tap - mostly dreadful Greene King brews. Odd smell in the upstairs dining room. Carpet in the upstairs hall so trodden down it looks like sticky lino. Food actually pretty decent & reasonably priced (for London) & there is some drinkable bottled beer. Service pleasant and efficient.
P. D.
Very friendly and good food... Especially the veggie options
디.
Good service, good mood, nice food. Everything was perfect for my first meal in London.
A. M.
Guys the food is amazing ... Wow the SUNDAY ROAST.... NICE NICE NICE ....! (The manager is a very good person)
S. S.
Good pub food and quite environment. Nice place for groups and for a quick bite with friends or by yourself
M. K.
Lovely cocktails and great selection of beers. Staff were lovely and really helpful, also the thick chips went down a treat
A. W.
My wife and I went here for a pub meal with a visiting friend. The general feel of the pub was good with a nice atmosphere, although fairly loud music. The waiting staff were friendly and accommodating and food times were about average.
Unfortunately, we found the food itself to be lacking. My wife doesn't usually have a big appetite, but even for her, the salmon wasn't enough for a main, especially for the price. My chargrilled chicken burger was again a little small, but quite nice nevertheless, and helped by the fries. My sticky toffee pudding was a good size, although not of the quality warranted by the price. My wife's rhubarb and apple crumble was again smaller than expected and lacking rhubarb and the advertised cinnamon.
Overall, the pub seems good, but it is let down mostly by food portion sizes and quality to price ratios.
C. H.
Food was ok. Mediocre cheesecake. Waitress was very friendly!
A. J.
Great staff. Lovely drinks and the food was great. Can't fault it
L. W.
We had our wedding reception here a couple of weeks ago, and it was fantastic. Robert and his team were a pleasure to deal with throughout the planning process, and on the day itself. The function room upstairs might be small, but it is perfectly formed, beautifully decorated, and offers a stunning view over the river. The evening light is glorious too. All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was, and how attentive the staff were. No complaints here - we had a day we'll never forget!
B. A.
This place is conveniently located. Had dinner with my family here. The staff were super friendly. Food was very good too. The seafood platter we ordered was more than enough for 2 adults and was very tasty. Price is reasonable too. Only 3 stars because we spotted a tiny mouse running around in the dining hall and it was a setback but we had almost finished our food by that time.
D. T.
We visited The Rose on a few occasions last year while we were holidaying in London. We were staying at the nearby Park Plaza hotel, which meant less than a two minute walk to The Rose.
Me and my partner got the following on the few occasions we visited The Rose:
Fish & Chips (absolutely beautiful fish, thick flaky texture, lovely batter which tasted like a proper English fish & chip shop fish & chips). This also came with a large pickled onion and mushy peas. The chips were proper fried chips (i.e. they were not the usual frozen chips that you seem to get nearly everywhere now). We could not fault it and it was worth the price.
On another occasion we got the Shrimp Pattie burger with chips. Neither myself or my partner had ever seen this before and by the description of it on the menu, we were very keen to try it. It was absolutely beautiful. Lovely sweet shrimp meat and it tasted divine. The bun was from what I can remember a brioche bun. Neither myself or partner had, had a brioche bun before and we absolutely loved it. It was much, much nicer than the usual sesame buns you tend to get with burgers. Again the chips were proper chips (i.e. they were not the usual frozen chips that you seem to get nearly everywhere now) and the chips were absolutely beautiful, lovely and crispy and exactly like you would get at a good English fish & chip shop.
We are planning on coming back to London and staying in the same hotel again this year, and we look forward to eating out again in The Rose. Beautiful food, good portion sizes, quick service (despite it been busy on at least one occasion) and friendly staff, and considering it is London, the prices were reasonable too.
All in all, we can’t wait to come back!
J. L.
If you like your cocktails there is a wide selection available here and the staff are knowledgeable. This was my friends local pub and I can see why he came here so often. The staff are friendly and you get served fairly quickly, even when it's busy. We also ordered the food platter which easily served 5 of us. If you are after a swift beer and some food after work, give this place a try.
M. P.
Nice little pub with good food. The upstairs has a view of the Thames River from the windows. We had fish & chips (big fries) and a burger and fries (skinny fries). Both were very good and larger portions than we could finish. We ordered only waters to drink and there was not someone regularly refilling waters like in the US, but I am sure they would have refilled us, had we asked.
J. G.
Despite a wealth of local pubs nearer to me, I have made this pub my local.
Friendly staff, Estrella Galicia served on tap, river view and really good bar food.
The perfect pub for me.
K. K.
Awesome Sunday roast! Had the veggie option, it was superb.
A. L.
Amazing Sunday roast! Massive portion and very tasty!
n. j.
Very modern, chic pub located in heart of Vauxhall. The have an awesome dj playing some sic tunes. Highly recommend
J. F.
Not too bad. Nice food and okay drinks. Take the River bus service for great sightseeing.
G.
Beautiful view next to the river. Everything was amazing, it was the best vegan pasta i ever had and the prices are reasonable as well. Everyone else at the table really liked their food too. Great options for both meat eaters and vegetarians / vegans. Definitely worth a visit if you are visiting London.
A. R.
Nice location. Good service and great staff.
L. A.
The only thing stopping it being 5stars, is when sitting outside, food is served as though a takeaway, so the bags etc. Blow around, end up chasing rubbish through the streets, otherwise accept littering (which I don't condone you do), which takes away from the experience. I didn't really understand the reasoning behind not using actual plates etc.
B. M.
Stopped in here with a large group to grab something to eat. We had not made a reservation. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bill's were prepared for each table but we were able to pay individually. My 'Rose Burger' was very pleasant.
s. g.
Excellent atmosphere good beer
Food looked nice
H. A.
Amazing chips here!! Just the right crispness the perfect chip is here!!
S. G.
Brilliant pub that serves food every day. I recommend the Sunday Lunch as we had Chicken Roast with trimmings including Yorkshire pudding or the Sea Bass with ratautoulle. Staff very friendly and quick service. They have vegetarian and vegan options. Good selection of beers too.
m. h.
Fantastic pub in a wonderful location. The selections of beers are good with Birra Moretti on draft. There is food served upstairs, but as I haven't tried the food, I couldn't comment. There is a good crowd of professionals with a nice atmosphere. I would recommend for a midweek evening drink.
F. P.
Lovely little pub with great customer service. The barman was fun and flirty without being too much. Suggested a lovely bottle of wine for me and my friend to try although not cheap at £28. However, was an excellent choice for a warm summer afternoon.
E. V.
First old style Pub stop in London. Great food and service was good. Had famous fish and chips and the portion was very large. Had a pint of the local Lions Roar beer. Good tasting too. Waitress did a nice job of explaining specials and when asked offered suggestions. Food came out in a timely manner and hot. Very relaxing atmosphere.
N. W.
Lovely pub, nice atmosphere, good service. We've only been going there on occasion over the years. It's got a great location, is a lovely decorated pub but unfortunately the food has always let it down. Went last night after at least a year, it was lovely and cosy and although it was packed the service has been really good and attentive throughout. The burger I had on the other hand was kind of shocking really. Definitely not a "gourmet burger" as stated on the menu. It tasted somehow sour and definitely not right and I left most of it. Tasty fries though. Would come back for drinks and maybe bar snacks and fries but not for any other food.
E. G.
Amazing roast dinners, great choices, good portions. We have tried different each time- pork belly succullent and crispy at the outside, lamb is so tender and finger licking good! Beef was soft and juicy. Vegetarian option my friend exchanged to fish cake and wow it looked amazing. Only minus I would say,the last two times there were add-ons on our bill, so we had to point that out but they were very quick to resolve it. Definitely recommend. In the pic pork belly and lamb and extra stuffing
J. H.
Visited 8th Nov , 2.30pm.Great looking pub, lovely food & fantastic service from the young lady & Italian young man but........I have never been to a pub and been served by such a miserable barman !!!! I ordered our round of drinks on entering the pub and he didn't speak at all, only to tell me how much the drinks were . My sister went to the bar on 3 further occasions and the barman just ignored her and spoke to another man, showing him stuff on his phone. In the end, the young lady waitress could see how rude the barman was and served my sister. Delicious food and pub but may think twice before entering here for such an unwelcome experience....
S. W.
A nice little pub just opposite the thames, good seating area outside, bar staff friendly and cheerfull, all in all a good day out.
E. F.
lovely food lots of choice for cocktails 😋
D. T.
It was very busy on a Wednesday night however the staff were accommodating and made up a table for us. 4 star only because they had sold out of 2 meals we initially wanted however, the meals we ended up having (chicken and beef burgers) were delicious!
J. F.
Awesome little pub on the RiverBank. Made reservations (which I highly recommend) and were seated upstairs. Beautiful view of the river in a nice comfy atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. On recommendation from friends we both had the shepherds pie and man, was it good! Fresh, hot and laodes with ground beef. If you are in the area, this is the place to go for a pint and/or a meal.
M. G.
Nice, busy pub on the Albert Embankment with views of the Thames. Good beer and food. We ate upstairs next to a window that overlooked the river. Reasonably priced for London and the food was of a very good quality. The only downside is that we've tried to go there twice at the weekends and it's been closed for private functions, but there are other pubs in the area so it's no big deal. Have eaten there twice now and will go again.
P. B.
A really nice pub, with good food and beer.
K. S.
This is a very nice restaurant with a great menu. The food was extremely tasty. The atmosphere was great. The downstairs was a pub and relatively noisy but there is a dining room upstairs which is very nice and quiet and has a great view of the river.
J. C.
Early Saturday evening visit on a sunny day - bar staff not overly welcoming. In fact would describe as disinterested & condescending. However we were 2 thirsty ladies so persisted regardless! Staff eventually warmed up a bit and we stayed for more drinks and food. Did the job, convenient location but would not actively seek out or recommend.
C. Z.
Great selection of beers, spirits and wine. Friendly staff.
S. N.
A great local, old style pub but the a modern twist on the food as it is all up to date and really good value for money. A very casual place which is what we were looking for so no need to get dressed up. A great selection of draft beer too.
m. f.
Great food excellent service and very helpful manager the beers not bad either.
D. S.
Average burger, good staff
J. M.
Brilliant vibe. We went in for a drink on a Sunday afternoon. Staff were nice; the waitress was lovely. Plenty of people heading in for their Sunday lunch so the food must be decent. Drinks prices were OK but the main thing was the awesome décor. Nice, spacious place, all kitted out with a rustic but upmarket feel.
J. L.
I rocked up after 10pm on a Sunday night looking for food (cheeky, I know), I was served with a smile, the food (Sunday roast) was delicious, generous, the vibe and music great, and less than £30 incl service for a half chicken roast, pint of cider, and Bailey’s to wash it down. Can’t complain about any of that. Brilliant spot.
A. H.
2nd time we've been here. Last time was my nephews birthday last October. This time I bought my wife/2 daughters along for a meal. Excellent food & excellent service all round. Highly recommended!
S. J.
Its a sunday and i am a brown man in a large baggy mustard coloured jumper on his lunch break.
My service was swift. My order was taken with a positive attitude all the while bartenders are making cocktails.
I orderede the burger. Chicken to be precise. Added bacon to be exact. Cheapest meal on the menu and half a guiness. Total damage was 15£ and i do not regret it.
The delivery was timed well. When it said chargrilled. They meant it. You can taste all of the flavours of the chicken. The pickles. The lettuce. The onions and the bun. All worked so well. Each bite was a savoury treat.
Skinny fries were a nice touch. I ate them all.
Id be keen to try the sunday roast when i have ample funding. 15£ odd for a plate. Most likley worth it.
Ill be returning.
@mrdevilbrown
M. J.
Sunday roast was very good.
But confusion with my order meant my food arrived after the rest of my group had finished theirs and had to leave for a show.
My cocktail was also served differently each time I ordered (lime Vs lemon, garnish missing) and was of poor quality.
S. S.
this is a friendly pub/restaurant. don't know what I expected but I ordered a,German pils beer. it was, cold and very tasty. my son ordered a veggie burger, he said it was great, it was huge and looked freshly made.
M. V.
The Rose is somewhere between a pub and a local restaurant. Busy pub downstairs, diner seating and river views upstairs. The food is fine (but not extraordinary), service is friendly and apart from minor inconveniences - like the loud music upstairs - you'll have a nice time.
S. S.
Highly recommend the Sunday lunch. Well presented, quality ingredients and plentiful.
W. E.
Just had lunch at The Rose. The usual fish and chips was a tad over fried, so not as tasty as expected. Service today was very slow considering it wasn't even half full and there were at least 5 people serving. Didn't feel attended to and to top it.. the special lunch offer to get a free brownie... Well- this was literally the size of a small matchbox... Not at all impressed today!
C. W.
I went here on my 30th and there were great cocktails and a wonderful atmosphere. Great decor too! Music started really well but got a little too club poppy for me ( more 80s/90s classics would have made me stay all night!!)
M. S.
Came here to watch England v Belgium play at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Friendly, courteous staff, ample room to stand and a decent number of seating options. Another screen would've been a nice touch but can't complain. Slightly on the expensive side, but then probably a fair reflection given the location. Free bar snacks were a welcome addition.
S. M.
We enjoyed a delicious meal in the up stairs room with a great view of the river. The service was good. If you get a chance take a look at the photography on the walls of the city when the building was new.
J. C.
Great theatre specialising in LGBTQ+ drama. In its third and best home so far. A 2 theatre venue with rehearsal space and large bar area to meet up in before middle and after. Many good places to eat near by makes this a great place to go, and so far, all the shows I've seen have been brilliant. Interesting rumble of the trains above which never phases the actors!
B. T.
I like the Sunday lunch they do here. nice aromatic gravy with good size portions. The draft beer choice I find limited, but I do look for IPA's. More recently I have noticed an inclusion of a couple of IPS's, one of which is Brixton brewery's electric. This atmospheric bar just goes from strength to strength.
F. W.
The Rose was, to quote our waitress, "Fantastic". The food was delicious, the staff was attentive and friendly. Best meal we had in London. Worth the time to check it out!
M. A.
Good selection of drinks. Our employees love hrading down after work.
E. J.
Standard pub. Not a great beer list. not in Vauxhall often but I thought 5.40 for a Guinness was pricey for the area. Only had snack platter but it was mediocre. Nice view, decent atmosphere.
C. I.
Nice place, lovely airy dining room upstairs. Good food. Asked to medium burger but came well done but still pretty tasty.
J. S.
Been here a few times now for both social and business drinks etc. The staff are nice and friendly. The food is really good and the drinks selection is fine. It's also in a pretty good location.
w. s.
Really good lively pub. Nice restaurant space upstairs with good views of the river.
Downstairs has a nice bar with a good selection of beers and whatnot.
Bit of music and dancing later on!
L. J.
Always surprising how great the food and selection is here. They change their menu every few months so the selection is never tired. The food tastes great and is excellent value for money.
K. C.
Very nice pub lunch
Baked raspberry cheese cake lovely
Service very good
S. M.
Food is ok. Decent burger... a bit pricey. If you can get a table outside at sunset your in a good place and will make you feel your on a winner.
P. D.
We had a lovely afternoon tipple here. Warm ambiance, good cider, not that many vegan options. The Sunday roasts were great.
C. A.
This classy take on a classic London corner pub has beautiful views across the Albert Embankment, the Thames and across to the Tate Britain. Excellent food and good choice of wine and beer with an upstairs bar with special views make this a fantastic place for a quick drink or a full function.
D. M. P.
Great selection of Beer and some top food!
S. H.
This review is about the pub and food from the view of a walk-in. The food has always been quite good, the braised lamb shank is excellent. As a fan of British brews who laments the prominence of "ice cold" beer, I do wish they had a better selection of true british beers, but I can overlook this since their food and location (we stay at the Park Plaza a couple of blocks away).is so good. Plus, they will generally have the kitchen open till around 10 pm.
Highly recommended.
A. O.
Really nice vibe here. Well themed inside.
F. H.
Nice office party, the had the upstairs all to ourselves. The service was a bit slow and the variety of options was limited but only at the upstairs bar. But it was ready really good have our own bar in the upstairs room.
H. J.
Visited from Ontario Canada. Was recommended by our hotel as a good place to eat. We gave it a try and was not disappointed. Totally enjoyed the fish and chips. Service and atmosphere was friendly.
D. R.
Great food and lovely venue, would have got five stars. BUT don't come here in a large group (there were a dozen of us). Totally disorganised, food for some people arrives 45 mins later if at all, bill was a nightmare. Real shame.
Do come here if there aren't many of you.
J. L.
Went on a Sunday afternoon. Staff very friendly to us and made a fuss of our baby daughter (high chair available), giving her a couple of strawberries and cheering her up. Slight whiff of cleaning fluid, but burger and chips, soup and houmous were good.
Beer OK but not particularly good.
Nice decor and music (John Coltrane).
K. A.
Loud, busy, lively pub. Great for parties. Food is OK. Beer lovers have better option's elsewhere as The Rose has just a basic selection of beer.
C. B.
I enjoy this pub because there is a variety of food and the social scene is buzzing. It is very close to the tube and the price of drinks are reasonable. I am happy to comment on this pub because I have been there a few times and all of my visits have been memorable. The staff are also very friendly!
D. F.
This place had a nice atmosphere and good beer, but the food was not the best. The service was also not impressive, but no major complaints either. Being across from a park next to the Thames is a nice addition to the outdoor tables.
C. B.
Lovely cosy atmosphere. Staff were a touch slow in taking orders but the food made up for it. Very fresh and tasty. Cocktails were reasonably expensive but delicious.
K. P.
Upstairs was closed which was disappointing, but ok, maybe it was late.... Menu items were unavailable and they didn't warn us. So we ordered twice an unavailable item and then had to ask about each item individually, and ended up just ordering something just to eat rather than by actual choice. So after all this, a 10% included service charged seemed.... Unfair?
M. D.
Had Sirloin Steak and a good pint of Guinness there this lunchtime.
Everything was fine, but why do gastropubs insist on serving food on anything they can think of except plates? Mine was served on a bread board. Looked pretty but not practical.
L. Q.
Great pub, loved the style and friendly service!
X. M.
Nice pub with confy food and amazing staff. The only thing I could mention: average to small ration sizes. The rest was great.
R. B.
I want to like to Rose more but something always goes wrong. For a standard gastropub, they don't really seem to have things together. Service is a bit slow, menu is too large so not option is that great and main bad area quite crowded. It's not a bad place but there are nicer pubs nearby e.g. the Black Dog or Zeitgeist.
P. D.
Great ambience, good drinks, just general fun pub to be in however not the best I’d say meh toilets
g. m.
Great atmosphere, service &food
M. A.
Good food . Staff are nice. Good pub
I. L.
Very nice and cozy British pub with friendly and sexy staff. Food is great, beer is good...and people are friendly.
P.S. Shoutout to Sisi.
P. W.
Food was okay but our group wanted to stay together and was directed upstairs to only find out that others had reserved it. I enjoyed my lunch but my second visit was not that great.
P. “. C.
Excellent food served in a very cozy restaurant. Very good service and good quality location. Recommended
D. S. N.
Good when not crowded & bad when crowded! Ordered amd paid for fries never arrived so l just left. I guess the staff does not know to handle pressure. Great location!
B. P.
Very good service and excellent food
N. K. (. R.
What AMAZING customer service. I couldn't make my friends engagement drinks at the venue, so called ahead and asked to pre-pay for a bottle of prosecco for them. Glen went above and beyond to ensure the prosecco was ready for their arrival and even bought them an engagement card to leave a note from me for them!! He even sent me photos to show me how it looked. I'm thrilled xxxx
D. K.
Love this pub, good atmosphere and other customers usually seem pretty friendly which is odd for London pubs. Getting rid of neck oil is the only downside!
V. M.
Beautiful interiors, good location next to the river and lovely views from the second floor. I had a apple cider and it was one of the best ive had. Good pie too.
A. T.
Great staff. Enjoyed the meal.
M. K.
Amazing burger and chips! Good service at the bar and they were kind enough to allow me to park my bike at my table! Price was right!
J.
Food was great. Good selection of drinks and a nice view if you`re lucky with the seating arrangement.
E. W.
It's a nice pub, but it is always extremely busy. Nothing special in the way of drinks, just your normal pub range in a central location
j. d.
I've been in here a couple of times with friends and found staff and service professional. The pub itself has a nice atmosphere.
L. R.
First time to visit, we often pass this lovely little pub on our river walks, pleased we did, fantastic location over looking the river and we found the staff helpful , friendly and beer was good.
F. S. A.
Great pub with wonderful view on 1st floor.
G. M.
food was good. christmas music too loud and annoying.
J. C.
Cool bar open until 2 am. Nice variety of drinks and cocktails. Music is diverse but mostly British top hits
R. C.
Vibrant, good attentive service and lovely food and wine. Good covid precautions and abided by 10pm guidelines. What's not to like??
t. k.
Friendly pub, great staff, some outdoor seating and a great selection of drinks
J. M.
Decent food—though the vegetarian Wellington was too salty. Tasted like they'd chucked in a bit too much veggie stock cubes for the sauce.
J. M.
Perfectly fine pub. Drinks and food ok in terms of quality and price. Good venue to be able to find a table/ seat without booking
B. R. R.
Very good food, nice selection of drinks, clean, nice decor - could improve on the service a little however. Will be back for the roast very soon.
F. G.
Amazing Place , Nice And Friendly Staff . Its So Beautiful Inside , Good Food ... Many Drinks And Cocktails . I Will Come Always Again With Pleasure !!.
J. C.
Great place to have a meal, the roasted parsnip soup was excellent could have had more than one of them, the steak was cooked just as asked, the staff were friendly and helpful
D. C.
Nice atmosphere, food and drink. Downstairs area can be a bit noisy with louder music than is really helpful for a relaxing drink.
A. U.
Good atmosphere, nice local pub, even though it's in a busy central area
J.
Very good food, would not describe the interior as Victorian at all. Could use better beer selection.
G. H. B.
Nice friendly pub, lovely pint of Guinness. The fish and chips was outstanding....some relaxing jazz playing.very good all round.
A.
-Friendly service
-Busy evening tonight (Tuesday the 18th of December 2018)

-Fish and chips were tasty
S. A.
I did not go to this pub just walked past but Google asked me to review it! Might be nice, might be awful, why don't you go and check it out and see for yourself?!
n. w.
Simply wonderful.
Go there.
J. C.
Nice riverfront pub, good beers and the food was wonderful. The best pub we went to on our Vauxhall night out by far.
E. O.
Excellent food, location and staff. We went there teo days in a row during our weekend in London. I'd go there more times if I could. Can't recommend enough!
T. H. C.
Just popped in for a mulled wine and it was THE BEST I've had this year! Super festive ⛄ Great London pub! 🧡

S. H.
Nice pub good food bit pricey but good view of river and table service v posh ;)
B. P.
Great meals and view on 1st floor dining room. Goid atmosphere in pub.
L. I.
Nice pub but very pricey. They also had an abundance of lillies around which were massively overpowering and gave me a migraine.
n.
Great lively Victorian pub with dance music downstairs and excellent home cooked food in the upstairs restaurant upstairs overlooking the Thames. Well worth a visit
J. L.
Super loud and busy pub even during the week. Ok beers, ok prices. Probably cool in the summer
r. a. c.
I had a couple of drinks and a burger and I was satisfied. Probably won´t be coming back for dinner as it´s nothing special but overall it was a good experience.
T. O.
Called on for dinner based on menu on web. Asked for items and told they are not on menu. Menu on table is quite different to web. If you advertise food on web it should be available.
P. C.
The steak and chips were incredible! Lively positive atomosphere and great, friendly, uninvasive but attentive service. Highly recommended!
A. G.
A nice gastro pub in an area with limited options.
I. L. B.
Table service with cocktails at £7.50 a pop. Nice atmposphere with an unpretentious crowd.
W. C.
Nice bar but staff not that friendly. Shame as it helps to see a smile.
J. T.
Takeaway beers in lockdown with good social distancing with a mini park opposite. What's not to like.
G. v. L.
Nice pub on/near the embankment with good pub food and very friendly staff. Sitting outside in the afternoon sun with a beer is a treat

A. F.
Pleasant service, nice food and great views over the river from the dining room upstairs.
I. H.
Brilliant location for a beer outside, with Millbank, Tate Britain, MI6 and Westminster all within sight. You may even end up in the background of the next Bond film...
T. M.
Lovely food at very reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and the views of the river are amazing
A. D. B.
Good bits:
- Liked the atmosphere - during the day it felt like an English pub but became quite busy in the evening with good lighting
- Food was good
- Some of the cocktails were great - watermelon martini and apple martini
- Not too busy on a Saturday afternoon
Bad bits:
- little overpriced for food
- Some of the cocktails were not so great - french martini and porn star martini
j. l.
Best service and food ever

I. D.
As a pub should be. No TV, no loud music, just good beer and cosy spaces to enjoy good company.

M. D.
Great chicken roast, bad service. On a slow night have to get up and interrupt the bartender and servers from their chats to get anything.
