Reviews of The Rosendale

The Rosedale is a really vibrant and lovely spot, I really enjoyed my dinner here and can't wait to go back! Great drink selection (I loved their wines), and the Sunday roast was just what I needed (I had the beef) with great sides to accompany it. For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding and the LBV port was a perfect accompaniment for it. There was a lovely lady Robyn who stopped by the table and was super helpful with recommendations (especially drinks), kudos to her!

We have just been here again, this time inside the restaurant. Another nice experience, we had a table at the back with a few family members, started with a share of the flatbreads, sea salt and rosemary (delightful) followed by roast duck, beef burger, veal and classic fish and chips. All were very happy!

Just look at this photo! It says it all….Without a doubt one of the best Sunday Roasts we’ve had in ages. Situated in the quirky West Dulwich area, the Rosendale Pub is the perfect place to spend your Sunday afternoon.
The atmosphere was lovely both inside and out, the staff were extremely welcoming, especially our waiter, William who was helpful, smiley, and friendly - exactly what you need after lockdown. The quality of the food was spot on as well as the portion, just look at the towering Yorkshire pudding.
The pub is both family and animal friendly as we saw lots of bowls of water scattered around for the dogs. The pub is located on the corner of Rosendale Road and is just a 5 minute walk from West Dulwich train station. We sat outside in the garden which was spacious and comfortable.
Inside was warm and friendly, full of both couples of all ages and families. For us this pub ticks all the boxes, food was tasty, staff were friendly, suitable for all, children friendly, animal friendly and not too difficult to get to plus free and easy parking if you’re driving….(don’t drink and drive)….definitely worth a visit.
We give it A****

We went last minute and it was great. The staff are really warm and friendly great advice about the menu and drinks too.
We really enjoyed the evening, it was calm and friendly.
The food was really great.

Beautiful pub in the corner of West Dulwich and loved the decor.
However felt it was slightly overrated.
Service is a bit slow despite nearly empty pub and adequate staff.
You have to ask for sauces etc where most places actually ask if you need any.
I had the linguine which had a slight sprinkle of tomatoes and mussels and basically a carb loaded heap of pasta. It tasted good but I have had much better linguine elsewhere at that price.
Might have been better to choose something else with more veggies had I known, but I do like seafood so the experience was disappointing.

Booked a table at very short notice, so accommodated in the Back Garden. Seat coverings and heaters provided to mitigate against the bitter temperatures.
Absolutely first Class waiting from Beth - who remained friendly, efficient and attentive throughout - in spite of having to attend to a large pool of tables.
Food was good - excellent sharing dish of baked Camembert - certainly more than enough for two! The roasts were greatly appreciated. Fish and chips better than a lot (but had possibly spent a minute or two too long in the deep fryer).
Finished with Irish coffee - which was a little weak on both coffee and whiskey - but I had two to make sure the assessment was accurate.

We had a wonderful wedding reception at The Rosendale. Curtis and the team were amazing! Everything ran incredibly smoothly, so we were able to just relax and enjoy the day and we felt very looked after. In the lead up to the wedding, Sue and Curtis answered all of our questions and nothing felt like it was too much for them to arrange. Holly was very helpful with our wedding food tasting.
On the day, the team decorated the rooms upstairs beautifully, even suggesting the use of the fairy lights, which looked stunning with the bunting! The venue itself looks wonderful. Our guests have said that they had a brilliant time. It was great to have the side garden available to us, as well as both of the upstairs rooms. The food and drink was absolutely delicious. It was exactly the relaxed, summery, fun, wedding celebration that we were looking for. Thank you very much! We would absolutely recommend The Rosendale as a fantastic wedding or party venue.

Fabulous last minute dinner after my booster! Food was amazing as we're the waitresses Emily in particular & also the lovely girl she was training. They could not have been any more helpful & friendly. A credit to the Rosendale & compliments to the chef....beef bourgijon was fabulous as was my partners sirloin steak & delicious gravy.
We will be back & a massive THANK YOU from us both x

Blew my expectations out of the water. I asked for Mayo and boy oh boy did they deliver.
5 pots of Mayo! Let’s go.
I’m serious, the only time I’ve had enough Mayo to satisfy my undying thirst.
Definitely would recommend to any other apostles of Mayo that desire perfection.

Good location, great food and great staff..... Understanding dietary requirements and meat preparation and cooking for customer requirements. Definitely impressed.
