Cute roast on a wet Sunday afternoon. Make sure to book in advance, the staff are super friendly and will endeavour to make sure everything is as it should be. Nice addition to Clapham with a warm atmosphere. P.S. 1. the brunch is good value and 2. the cocktails are strong 💪

Really lovely bar, can be quite expensive but it has a nice vibe and lovely staff. We did have to wait a while and ask twice for our drinks but they came eventually. We would have stayed longer and ordered more if we were seen to quicker.

What an awesome Sunday afternoon, at The Saxon. I remember six years ago having going out in Clapham, for starter drinks at The Kazbar, so I was not sure what to expect now it’s been renovated and become a gastropub, The Saxon. Nothing to worry about. It’s fantastic. I booked online and was told I had a 1 1/2-hour slot, but it was fine, there was no pressure. For starters, I selected the dips and pitta bread. 3 generous serves of dips with an amazing caponata were presented. Our server, Joao, didn't bat an eyelid when I asked if I could get some carrot or celery sticks for my 2 year old son to dip in the luscious spreads. The Sunday menu listed just beef and chicken, which some might have an issue with. However, I would rather you did two things really well, rather than five things half-hearted and this was the case here. We saw the beef being served, it was red and tender and looked delicious. I ordered the half chicken. It was moist and soft and delicious and (I've never seen this before), chef had removed the bones after cooking. We demolished the cauliflower cheese on the side. Normally on a Sunday I wouldn't have puddings, but the food was so good, I asked for the cheesecake. Awesome. Super cheesy, not too sweet, with a tangy green apple sorbet on the side. Oh, and did I say they serve wine in a 500ml carafe as well as by the glass and bottle. Which is oh so nice for a Dad out for a Sunday roast with his son. Two minor niggles. Firstly, buy some high chairs. They didn't have any so we brought our own, they are £31 pounds each at Ikea although for The Saxon I would recommend spending a little more for wooden versions which would suit your decor so much better. Secondly, in the family bathroom get a changing table. We've seen worse and know how to manage, but I think you guys are aiming higher and you will recoup the cost quickly. Overall, 5 out of 5. Can't wait to come in summer and enjoy the terrace upstairs or a table out on the pavement. Well done.

Brilliantly disguised, you'd be forgiven for thinking this upscale cocktail bar is a new pub for Clapham High Street. Inside, the decor offers the typical charm of a pub with the style and polish of London's best destination bars. Drinks are expertly crafted, food menu beautifully matched, and staff fantastic. Instantly one of my favourite London venues!

Visited this establishment on Sunday with a friend. From start to finish it was sublime. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was vibrant. Came here after looking for a late afternoon Sunday lunch, was disappointed that I couldn't get in at my local Youngs pub. Strolled down clapham high street and found this incredible bar. The atmosphere was incredible and even though it was a Sunday it felt like a Saturday night. The roast chicken was incredible, you could tell it was from fresh and I don't think I could ever go back to dry batch cooked chicken from Youngs. Truly incredible place.

Very nice place in Clapham. The service it's excellent, if you go there ask for one of the hosts, Adriano, he will make sure you have a blast, plus he is super sexy and friendly. Drinks are amazing and the overall atmosphere of the place is great.

Roast is quite expensive here, small portion and doesnt really taste of much. Hopefully just a bad day in the kitchen and not the standard. Staff were attentitive and sweet, theyre even dog friendly :)

Great rooftop. Great cocktails. Great service. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is their 2-4-1 deal where everyone at the table has to order a drink and then get served double... please just let a couple order 2 and pay for 1 so we can drink each one fresh! If we're happy we will still order another round

Incredible new(-ish) chic spot in Clapham! Visited a few times and been a pleasant experience every time. Staff are lovely, ambience is always really nice. The place is great for all different types of gatherings, whether your meeting friends or a date night, also on weekends it is really fun party/dance vibes, music is always good and DJ's are great. The roof terrace is gorgeous, fully fitted with heaters, cushions, blankets a perfect little haven for a chilled red wine and olives kind of night. ALSO, the food is delicious - we've had the Sunday Roast which was exquisite as well as the Chicken and Beef burgers which were delightful. Cocktails are great too - recommend the Basiltini! Their daily happy hour is for 2-4-1 cocktails and also includes selected beers, which I thought was really good. Will be visiting, again and again...

We enjoyed our bottomless brunch here! Nice staff, great atmosphere, unfortunately just very small brunch portions. One small piece of toast is just not enough for any adult. We had to go for food after the brunch. But would return for another bottomless if this changed! Thanks Saxon :)

It's such a nice a place, really pretty and the music was fantastic but it was awful to get drinks or snack at the main bar. The bartender at the top bar was really nice, and was quick to serve. But to get snacks I had to go to the bar downstairs and that was impossible to get served. I stayed there for 30mins until I gave up. There was a bartender serving drinks upstairs also ... she was definitely not happy. I think they are super understaffed.

It "OK". We went for dinner and drinks. It was ambiguous to know if we were getting table service or had to go up to the bar. The staff dress up like patrons, so you don't know if your calling over staff or waving over another customer. The ambiance is very nice.

Visiting the recently reopened Saxon bar formally the Kazbar , amazing transformation to the whole building . Not so hot on Covid rules not asked to check in to venue , no hand gel available upon entry. No one way system , lack on asking customers to wear masks when moving around venue . Also staff often using there masks as chin straps . Very polite service not so impressed with a unexpected service charge . I wish them well .

Now open daily, with a good selection of drinks including lots of beer on tap, and an impressive selection of spirits behind the bar, plus lots of seating both inside and out. There is a cosy upstairs bar, and there will also be a roof terrace soon, apparently. I think this place will be very popular!
