D. T.One word review "Splendid"
Long winded - a gorgeous pub on one of Kensington's back streets. Floral arrangements on the front of the pub, spectacular. Spacious but intimate inside, well worn but smart. The staff are lovely and the beer is cold. Plenty of cask ales for those that want. Solid food for those that do. A thoroughly lovely pub, do pay a visit when you are close, you won't be disappointed.
B. A. N.This is your neighborhood pub where you feel like part of the family even on your first visit. I like the service and the sophisticated menu they have. It’s like fancy dining without the complication. It’s dog friendly and has amazing outdoors area. The only missing thing here is gluten free on the tap!
d.Nice and spacious pub. Big south facing windows let in a lot of light. Nice old school decor and friendly atmosphere.
Toilets could be cleaned.
P. F.Superb pub in Kensington. Cracking place that serves a wide variety of drinks. We didn’t stop for food but was looked great. Was busy on a Saturday night so make sure to book. They had plenty of events on so obviously a favourite for the locals!
P. H.Very good food! Not just pub food either. The burger was good as well as the lamb shoulder. Our waitress was super nice and funny. I think her tiara was a nice touch. The garden flowers along the fence and building would make it a really nice place to enjoy on a nice afternoon or evening. Would definitely go back.
T. S.Lovely building - proper classic English pub - with good selection of real ales and other drinks. Food is excellent quality and reasonably priced, too. Only catch is that when we went for dinner, the staff were all rather terse and unfriendly - one chap was particularly rude.

B.Visited last night and really enjoyed it, the food was simple but good, the place has a really good vibe but the staff were particularly good. I would definitely return. The only reason I can’t give this place a 5 is because it’s part of a chain and so doesn’t have the soul of an independent.

Food is amazing too. Meals had there have often been better than restaurants that charge double the price

T. J.A hidden gem of a pub that has very good selection of drinks and do really good food as well. Very small establishment so can and does get very busy but the cosiness and charm makes up for this. A small front garden gives a lovely aspect on a summers evening. Prices are not low but worth the visit. Quite often see a celeb here. Staff always friendly and efficient. If you're visiting Kensington High Street and looking for refreshment The Scarsdale is definitely worth a look.

It can be both quiet at times and then moments later, fills up with old friends. I only wish it was colder and the fires were lit. Service was slightly below average, I was not warned or told the kitchen was closing and asked if I would want dessert. I ordered the vegan burger which ended up being quite dry mainly due to the coleslaw which was just dry cabbage. Drinks service was also quite slow. That being said I would go back at least for a drink and would recommend people to try it. Maybe I was there in a bad night.

Last night I had the lamb neck and I want to go back tonight and have it again! My husband had the most delicious steak and ale pie ever (he's a bit of an expert on pies), and our 2 guests loved their different fish meals.
We are already planning on going back. Love this place and Ross, who runs the pub.

P. L.Really good English pub experience. Two of us hit it just before dinner (17:00) and they bartenders and staff were very accommodating in helping us find seats and then quickly ordering bar food. Really courteous and easily approachable staff. I'd imagine it gets busier later but the 16:00 - 18:00 timeframe looks to be a good one to stop in for a drink and/or some food.

D. B.My friends and family, the weird and the wonderful, in the UK and from abroad, have been coming to this great pub for years and years. Large parties or small gatherings - and we have always, always been treated with professionalism, fun, laughter and the warmest of personal and irreverent welcomes. Sunday lunches are delicious - but remember to book for the restaurant section, as this is a very popular place which welcomes all ages, and large and small groups.
This is a proper, local pub with great atmosphere, staff, food and drink. I brought another friend recently and we walloped down truly delicious Bloody Marys, followed by huge goblets of wine. All served with wide smiles and pleasure that we were enjoying ourselves, followed by a friendly farewell when we left.

I got there just as the kitchen had closed, but the bartender made an exception and I had the most fantastic sirloin sandwich ever! The ample sandwich came with a delightful mixed greens salad and the freshest chips I'd had all week, all for a reasonable bit of coin, in a location that was lively but not over-run with tourists.
Thanks so much from a weary traveler. I'll definitely return, and recommend to others staying in the area.

I sometimes feel like an idiot at English pubs because sometimes there's table service, often you order at the bar and most times you have to pay as you order each item, but sometimes a place will run a tab like in the US. So, I appreciated the patience and really good humor with which the staff dealt with this obvious tourist on a very busy night.

L. R.My mom and I wanted to visit a traditional English pub for our last night in London. Scarsdale Tavern was a gem tucked away from the kinetic, sometimes overwhelming energy of piccadilly Circus or convent Garden. The interior had a subdued lighting and woodsy atmosphere. I felt like William Wordsworth or Robert Browning would have met there to discuss literature. We had a wonderful meal of steak pies, mashed potatoes and cider ( Ale is too strong for me) the staff was friendly, attentive andhelpful. If you want peace and quiet over a pint of Ale, Scarsdale Tavern is your place.

J. B.Hidden away pub in a beautiful London square. This place isn't overly large and nestles into the surrounding houses to the extent that you think it shouldn't be there. The slight walk from the main road implies it may be something it's not. Genuine locals pub with a natural charm that's hard to find. I rarely give 5 stars but this place deserves it. R.Lovely pub with excellent service. Only criticism (and reason for not giving 5*) is that the fish and chips comprised of breaded scampi pieces as opposed to (traditional) battered cod or haddock. Looked and tasted a bit like potato croquettes!

E. E.My wife and I are visiting London for 3 days and are staying nearby (600 mtrs away), and I found this place with goof=d reviews and exactly what we wanted for out requirements and also for my 56th birthday.
It was busy so unfortunately all tables outside were full. It would have been nice to have sat outside as it was a beautiful evening.
We ordered drinks and found a table to sit at. Bar staff were very polite and very efficient. We got our drinks and enjoyed, then we ordered a second round.
We decided what we wanted to eat. We are small eaters and also pescatarians (vegetarians and also eat fish). My wife ordered the Goat's cheese & walnut salad, chargrilled squash, and I ordered the Fuller's London Porter smoked salmon, Golden Pride sourdough, caper butter, fresh horseradish, lemon. We also ordered some fries to eat as a side. The meals came out within 5 minutes. We both enjoyed our meals very much. My salmon meal was delicious and the salmon was so tasty.
We had another round and I also chased with Black Bush Whisky. Unfortunately the whisky wasn't how it was meant to taste so I'm guessing it wasn't the correct whisky in the bottle. If I'm paying top price for top shelf I expect what I asked for. $ stars instead of 5 for this reason only.
All was great except the whisky.
Staff were excellent, polite, professional, and fast.

G.The best thing about this pub is that it is located in an area where only few cars pass its outside area, and the interior is carefully furnished with lovely, well - worn furniture, lacking typical gadgets like TVs that usually destroys the atmosphere in so many pubs. My food was edible but far from great (I had chargrilled chicken on Chiabatta with fries) compared to other gastropubs, and I was sad to find not a single fish dish (except for breaded scampy) on the menue.
