H. S.Fantastic food and service, thanks so much. We had the private dining room upstairs for 22 people for dinner for my 30th birthday and I can’t thank the staff enough for making it such a fantastic evening. Would definitely recommend and use again.

The food is delicious and menu is regularly refreshed, but not overly so. .

L. S.Great local pub just minutes away from Upper Tooting Road. I wish I had discovered it sooner! Very friendly atmosphere and staff. The Sunday roast was amazing and so were the desserts.
C. D.We love the Selkirk for a drinks pitstop, especially in the sun - fantastic beer garden.
However, the one time we stopped for Sunday Dinner, we were let down with what seemed like an issue of staffing; food coming way before drinks, waited a long time to get the bill, kids bangers and mash was gravy-less, much to my daughters dismay, the extra we ordered for her never arrived. I was a little underwhelmed by the roast, a real shame for what is quite a pricey meal at £20.
100% recommend for drinks and the staff are kind, just needed more of them!

We was in a private room upstairs, great for the function and the staff were amazing.

C.We love the Selkirk so it was a bit disappointing to go on Saturday night and find that there was only a salad, fish and chips or burgers (the last two both costing a hefty £16 each!) left on the main course menu. Luckily the starters we wanted were available and the service was great. But given the price and the limited choices, we're unlikely to be going there for our next trip for a nice pub meal out.

G. J.Nice pub but unfortunately a victim of the staffing crisis. One person behind the bar at 11pm on Friday meant we waited about 10 minutes at the bar just to pay our food bill. Not a great way to end the evening.
A. S.Great staff, decent food, 10% off for NHS staff if you show your badge. The staff were a great laugh, nice outdoor space and some good smaller nooks for more intimate discussions, a decent range of food and drinks options at a reasonable price and never too much of a queue.

T. S.I found this place totally randomly by getting a bit lost in Tooting but would definitely recommend visiting. They have one of the best Pilsner Urquell and Kozel in London - and this comes from a Czech person who grew up drinking these brands. They could still learn how to make better foam but other than that it's great. The place is perfect on sunny days as there's a massive beer garden.

A. M. M.Absolute favorite pub in southwest London. This is the most dog friendly and human friendly pub. The food is both traditional and non-traditional pub grub, but seriously elevated. The garden is beautiful in the summer or winter. We are blessed to live so close to the coolest pub around.

M. T.Lovely pub. It's a bit darkly lit though.... Has a board game night meet up, which is very well attended. Made lots of new friends here after moving to London. Very nice food the only downside is that it's a little expensive, however it is worth it. Fairly easy to get to on both local bus and tube stations.

J. L.Lovely waitress and good food. We had fish and chips which was great, lovely crispy batter on the haddock. Also burger with blue cheese. The burger was not hot but otherwise good flavour and good crisp fries and third person had two starters for main which were nachos and home made scotch egg. The latter especially tasty and the egg was just right. Recommend.

G. R.Great local pub with good service and a nice mixture of clientele. They've got a good drinks selection including an amazing Bloody Mary with crispy bacon in. The food is really nice too including a new slimmed down menu. The roasts are the best around and good for a shared dinner. A good spot for lazing around on the weekends, and the garden is lovely in the summer if a little busy.

It is home to the medical crowd from the local hospital but it is such a lovely open pub and has a lovely big pub garden which is rare in south London. Really lovely night there for my friends birthday. Staff are friendly and the place is really nice. A definite thumbs up for this one!

M. S.Great little pub stowed away in the back streets of Tooting. Staff are friendly and courteous, ample seating, good ambience and a lovely garden. Easy to miss being off the beaten track but worth a visit and some might argue better than those situated on the high street.

The pub is hidden down a nice quiet street, down the road from Tooting market. It is nicely laid out, with a lovely conservatory and beer garden. Food is really tasty too!
There is also a nice big screen to watch sport there too..o and the Guinness pretty good!

T. B.Great little pub with friendly staff and a really quaint feel to it. They dropped a star for being unable to feed my partner and I for an hour around 6 on a Sunday - apparently we were 'in between' the roast menu and normal menu. That roast did look good though.

D. A.I've been here many times over the years and this is an absolutely must if you want three things: great food, great service, amazing atmosphere. It has an awesome backgarden for the summer, a second floor which was used as a venue for shows, the menu is everytime tasty and I just generally love this pub! If you're in the area, this is the gem.

D.Very accommodating staff. The food was delicious and the atmosphere lovely. Despite the fact we turned up with no booking, they welcomed us with no hesitation and when the time for the reservation they had came they moved us very smoothly to another place without causing any distractions to our Sunday meal. We look forward to going back again.
G. C.Doesn't get 5 stars as prices are normal. Beer is well kept and usually a reasonable selection. Like most pubs a pint can often be a mouthful or two short especially when busy. Having said that there is usually plenty of staff on and the wait to get served is rarely long. Thursdays there is a Pub Quiz. (one of the better quizzes) which is well attended with usually 12+ teams - so book a table..

L. A.Been here a few times now and I'll summarise my thoughts for you...
It's a pretty decent boozer. Plenty room, nice beer garden, it stocks Fentiman's Victorian Lemonade (which is a boon), good selection of other beverages for all your alcoholic and non-alcoholic needs. Food here is hit and miss - nice fish and chips, very poor piccalilli with the Scotch egg - pick your battles. Quiz is not bad but quizmaster fancies himself.
Overall it's a 4 star - don't get your knickers in a twist. Dogs allowed.

P.Wednesday steak night is great. 2 x rump steak and fries plus bottle of delicious malbec. £45. We added some leek and truffle croquettes to start. Excellent value and we really enjoyed our meal.

J. P.It has a nice relaxing welcoming feel, with a large garden. Because it is a bit further back from the high street it seems to be quiet. A nice alternative to the Castle which has opened recently in Tooting - but has extremely high prices.

C. v. R.Booked Sunday lunch after hearing really good things.. i'm afraid it was just average. All the roasts on the table came with cold yorkshire puddings and not much gravy at all. No salt and pepper, after asking for some none arrived so had to ask the table next to us to borrow their's. No check was done during the meal on the table and no drink top ups offered. Once plates were cleared and sitting for a while with empty glasses there was no offer of coffee or desert - we left and found another pub for these... took a while for staff to take our payment too. A shame as this was my birthday meal and I expected a lot more based on previous reviews and personal recommendations.

L. A.I love this pub. The new menu is ridiculously good, we had the lamb and the beef short ribs, both seasoned perfectly and super tasty. It was nice and relaxed and had great service from the manager and other staff.
P. H.Using it a family get together place this is our second visit. Perhaps it is the time of year, 29th December, but I have to say that as far as the food was concerned it wasn't particularly memorable. The starters were fine, shame the mains arrived at the same time! Although they were sent back I've a feeling that they rested on the pass. When they were served, the risotto looked decidedly unappealing, my burger (I asked for medium), including the bacon, was decidedly overcooked. I should have copied one of my companions and sent it back.
That said, the sticky toffee pudding was fine.
Perhaps it was too soon after Christmas but this time our visit was definitely was not a cracker.

Get over yourselves, get a proper pub sign depicting Selkirk in some visual manner, discover cushions, stop ripping off beer drinkers and buy a razor.

T.Our Sunday roasts took almost an hour to arrive, despite being told it was a 20 minute wait. 5 minutes after ordering we were told that the beef wasn't available and then after another half hour that the lamb wasn't available. The pork roast when it eventually arrived was very tasty and the beer was kept well however. That said everyone's food arrived on one plate, so we had to serve ourselves.

R. W.The 'kirk deserves some respect, it was avidly middle class before most of Tooting's pubs were refurbished and 'shabby chic' was even a term. It has a lovely outside space which shines in summer. It's not my local but I wish it was. Tooting has moved on in recent years and where once there was just the Selkirk now there are many. It's not as busy as it once was but that's a good thing. Quality local.

P. 9.Enjoyed fish n chips and a couple of pints in the Selkirk this evening. Nice friendly atmosphere ~ i admired one of the pint glasses and the bar man was kind enough it wrap it up for me.
P. S.We popped in for lunch taking our 2 border collie dogs with us. At 12.room it was empty . The staff were so welcoming and the food was excellent
