Reviews of The Spice Of Life
V. P.
Nice vibes and very comfy pub right next to the Harry Potter theatre! Went on a Wednesday evening so it was quiet, which was nice as we just wanted to have some food. We enjoyed a burger offer with chips and a drink for 12.95 (or something similar). Everything was very good :)
D. M. K.
Nice pub , good atmosphere with decent a fast ordering at the bar. Handy spot mid week for a cheeky drink and chat

I can't even count how many times I've walked by this place and brushed it off as touristy. It couldn't be more centrally located in a spot that screams rip me off.
I'm happy to say that after being taken here by colleagues (out of sheer laziness), I couldn't be more wrong.
Prices are standard for the area, and while that isn't cheap they certainly weren't expensive. I had a fairly typical pub meal that I found tasty and worth decent value.
Overall, as a spot that's on one of the main roads of London's West End, it could've been way worse in quality and price. I may even go again!
D. K.
Busy place Friday late afternoon. We had beer, nachos and duck croquettes. Nachos were different from anywhere else and really good. The waiters were all very kind and checked on us several times.
P. P.
Great pub and music venue. Saw 5 acts last night, they were all good. Particularly liked the first band. Will definitely be going back.
J. N.
Bit surprised that there was no Country beer on as this
is one of Mcmullens core ales.
Footwarmer was a more than adequate replacement however although it would be too strong to be considered a session beer.
Staff were pleasant and efficient and there was a good atmosphere about the place.
Expensive as you can imagine but in line with other pubs hereabouts.
A. A.
Good vibe and quick service. Hosts the 6 nations on a few tvs. Havent tried the food but there is a decent selection if alcohol and beers
J. Y. -. C.
I was DJing for the bar in the evening on the 23rd October for a private party and the buffet food was brilliant. I wanted to make a special mention to the bar staff though who went above and beyond to help me with all my equipment. They were all due to finish but saw I was struggling and assisted withe everything so I could get off as quickly as possible. Big thumbs up guys!
S. J.
Great pub foods, good location, lots of beer selections. A great place to chill out and hang out with friends, they have plenty of seats both indoor and outdoor. I like that for chips & fries alone they have up to 4 options.
J. S.
we went in late on Sunday afternoon for an early dinner, got a table and drinks organised just as it got busy, staff were brilliant, old school service at the bar if you wanted it. the food was amazing! get your mouth round the chicken pie, I loved it.
S. M.
Love this place, many amazing experiences over the years. Just left the actors centre to head home, bumped into friends, who's son was playing here.
Great pub, great music venue. A must visit.
G. S.
Great pub with live music down stairs. Brilliant. The Coalminers were brilliant!
R.
food was great and the price was reasonable for the portion size. the pie was homemade to perfection , enjoyed the atmosphere very relaxed with friendly staff. we sat downstairs. lots of gin on offer behind the bar too. would definitely go back if in the area
S. G.
Very nice pub, next to the Z hotel Soho, Chinatown and Compton Rd
Good food and a nice pint
K. E.
A large lively bar with a range of independent brewery beers. Not one if you are looking for a quite pint (we visited on a Friday early evening and it was very busy and extremely loud) but a good option if you'd like to try something alternative
C. C.
A firm favourite in this part of town, in the thick of it. Beer and burger a great deal, quality is not compromised for the price. Friendly service. House white recommended. Clean loos, very important.
T. P.
Great venue for up close music nights. Friendly atmosphere and welcome downstairs at Thursday Jazz night
Y. (.
Good pub to enjoy some drinks with your fellas, a bit expensive tho, but it is to be expected because of the location.
L. G.
Lovely warm, friendly environment and tasty Sunday roast. I really enjoyed it and for sure I will be visiting again.
D. N.
Decent selection of beers and drinks and the food has always been nice when we've eaten there. Lovely staff and good service too!
R. I.
Superb pub with good live music and great beer. Fantastic atmosphere.
C. G.
Super busy but with a great atmosphere. Service is always top notch and the drinks menu is perfect for a pub night with friends.
M. G.
The staff here are super nice, from the reservation all the way to serving us drinks and food! Thank you! Also, great vibe and atmosphere!
H. W.
Good selection of drinks and helpful staff. Nice busy thriving atmosphere. We had the selection of starters as nibbles. Would recommend pub.
m. c.
Busy and noisy pub with good atmosphere. Later downstairs, great live music. Good choice of drinks and some real ales.
J. D.
Nice pint of real ale. Food looks good, but I didn't try it.
A. G.
This pub has a great vibe and excellent food , plus vegetarian options. The red pepper cauliflower curry was delicious. I arrived during the after work rush on a Friday and the food still came out fairly quick.
V. P.
I went on a day they had a gig in the basement. I paid 5quid to enter the basement and was promised the show will start in 20mins. After 2 gin cocktails and some sweet potato fries, the performance hadn't started
Food : 3.5 / 5
Gin Cocktail - 3.5 / 5
Experience - 1 / 5

Unfortunately I didn't get to see much of the interior of the bar as it was outside table service only but the staff were very helpful and the beer not excessively priced.
D. H.
Superb pub , great food and atmosphere, cracking staff , made phonecall to book and every effort was taken to ensure our table was ready so we didn't miss our show!
g.
Great cosey music and bar in the heart of London.
S. O.
Went to a gig in the basement, young emerging rappers. Good atmosphere, laid back good event by Hotvox
T. T.
Great location, great selection of draught. Was quiet when we got in and within the hour it got much busier. So good sign of how popular it gets with the locals after 5pm.
T. M.
The Spice of Life is a pub in central London, not far from Leicester Square - and right next to the Palace Theatre. It is owned by McMullen's Brewery, so most of the hand-pumped ales on offer are McMullen's, plus a limited number of guest ales and international lagers. The pub food is of a higher standard than usual - there are daily specials, too. The atmosphere is relaxed (except at peak times, of course - when it can get really busy), and the staff usually very friendly and helpful. It doesn't feel as cramped and chaotic as other pubs in the area. Toilet facilities are also far above central London standards.
E. C.
Furst time here! Had fab tasting cocktails! Lovely pub! Defo will come back!
J.
Really liked this place, staff are very helpful and provide great customer service, nice clean place, tables are outdoors, quick service

Great meat pie and a fantastic double stout!
L. G.
Very busy but staff super friendly
d. g.
In a busy part of town..... Can get busy and noisy. Good selection of beers....mind your bags
C. G.
Rated for its atmosphere, reasonable prices, good location - just don't buy the food; have regretted it on a number of occasions. Come for a drink, have a great time but go to one of the excellent places nearby for food.

Great pub and in the hub of the theatre's, staff welcoming and we had a great night xxx

Always good. Unobtrusive music and lack of screens is fine too. Excellent location.
D. D.

Great meat pie and a fantastic double stout!
J. S.
Awesome bands on a Sunday night in the backstage venue! A bit loud at times but had a good time.
T. E.
Classic British pub, great deal on a burger and a pint, and a great atmosphere for the rest of the evening! Good selection of beers and spirits too!
M. M.
Middle of the house quality pub. Good selection and spacious.
C. P.
Beautiful place, loved to have a quick pint of Guinness here the other night. Staff was friendly ( squeezed us to have a quick beer without booking)
j. L.
Great pub, great music, buzzing vibe
I. M.
Excellent stuff, good beers and yummy food. Cheers guys!
B. N.
They serve alcoholic drinks and rang last orders later than some other places in the area. So.... Good enough 👍
L. M.
The pub area is okay, not a great selection of beers and ales. But - amazingly - this place always has plenty of room even though it's in the middle of Soho, without feeling quiet or empty.
The live music bar downstairs is much more interesting & a great space.
M. M.
Went for live music evening.Great atmosphere quick service and bar is clean.
B.
Fantastic for live music
L. B.
A drink and a meal before a show, enjoyed a steak pie, it was deeeep and packed with tender steak!
S.
Always a pleasant pub.good atmosphere.
S. B.
Was a great venue to see my friends play music, the drinks were a little expensive but that's London, the staff were friendly and the service was adequate.
J. A.
Wonderful service and surprisingly good food. The bar staff were so lovely and very accommodating, even though one of them was trying to contend with a really rude customer, they remained polite and professional. Downstairs was great too. I went to see Soul Immigrants who I really do recommend. There was such a great atmosphere. My only criticism is that the pub/restaurant is a bit too hectic to properly enjoy a sit-down meal, but the full menu is served down in the basement too, so I'll be eating there next.
S. H.
Always good to have a drink here, good mix of people
C. N.
Very quiet to say it was Scotland v France rugby, but then again the whole of that area seemed quiet today. We just had a quick drink but noticed the Sunday roast looked amazing, I'm always a massive fan of homemade Yorkshire's and they would have made any Yorkshire cook proud. I am going to make a point of having Sunday lunch there soon, so, watch this space!!!
P. S.
Second time we have visited here whilst shopping in London. Great little pub, wonderful atmosphere, warm, friendly staff. Good selection of wines and beers, at reasonable prices for central London. Had live music downstairs on the Friday evening we were there, but unfortunately we had to catch a train, so couldn't stay. Will definitely be back next time we are in London, and next time for something to eat as the food looked good too.
C. S.
Wonderful bar! Great selection of beers and craft beers on tap. Great layout in the bar with plenty of space and large tables alcoved off from each other to cater for reasonably sized groups. The food was amazing, that chicken burger was so tender and juicy. Could definitely get comfortable in there for a night out.
K. R.
Traditional pub, which I came across a bit by accident - and I'm very happy about it. Cool interior, nice and friendly service, short waiting time, extensive menu and most importantly - delicious food. I'll remember this cod for a long time! ;) It could be cheaper, but it's pretty good for such a location. If you're in this area - I highly recommend it.
D. O. M.
Open mic on Monday nights attracts aspiring singer songwriters of invariably varied skill and experience. 7–11 free
E. S.
Music was nice, cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Not recommend beef burger tho..
D. D.
Traditional pub which isn't too expensive considering the central location. They offer up a good range of food options and there was plenty of space to sit on a weekday evening. Even when it was busy at the bar the service was quick and friendly as they seemed very well staffed.
P. E.
Nice pub, music could be less loud, camembert is delicious (but small ;))
S. S.
Didn't spend much time here so can't give you guys a 5 but, I was offended by customers of the pub.
m. c.
Brilliant food Fanta staff helpful and kind 👍
C. F.
John was brilliant, always attentive and very kind! Deserves a raise for sure!!! Amazing pub and scenery, will definetely will return!
P. R.
Nice little place right in the heart of the hustle and bustle. Good selection of beer and ale, some unusual stuff there as well as the standard fare. Menu is good with some nice small plate, snack and sharing options. There a live music venue downstairs with regular events and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
C. S.
Lovely, friendly staff who track who arrives at the bar when and also know their beer. Music was at a level where comfortable conversation could take place (just about - this was around 7pm so maybe noisier later) and, although I didn't have any food, the people sat next to me had some great looking/smelling food and while I was chatting I found they had eaten there the day before and been equally happy.
I wouldn't normally give 5 stars for so a short visit but the female staff member that assisted me was outstanding in an area of London where customer service and a friendly nature can be lacking. I'll definitely be back!
D. P.
Nice friendly pub with great staff, remembered large round of 17. We had prebooked table's as we were a large party. The food was good and everyone enjoyed their order. Not a huge menu but a nice choice of both meat and vegetarian options.
K. K.
Great pub on the edge of Soho. Really friendly professional staff; had a lovely evening here
P.
A sunny lunchtime, decent burger and lovely skin on chips, service very pleasant and polite. Pleased we popped in !!
S. G.
Great bar to unwind after a busy day
M. C.
It's a cool pub, friendly atmosphere, staff are polite and the food is good. On the edge of Soho and right next to the theatres,. It can get busy, so be warned for busy periods at that pub. It has recently and I swear the pub has had a refurb to improve it. There is a music bar downstairs, seriously I've never been in that bit of the part. Check on their website or ask staff what's down stairs all about. Men's toilets still stinks, but sadly, most men can't use toilets properly, so don't worry about it.
C. D.
The Spice of Life is one of my #favourite pubs in central London. it's often #busy but never manic, it's got a good layout and isn't too loud and being served at the bar doesn't take too long although I've never eaten food there. The actual building is nice and the atmosphere is good. The door staff are #friendly. There is a basement which hosts bands and comedy and it's a good little venue down there. #hiddengem #unexpected
K. Z.
First time to a London pub and I definitely feel like this place gave me a first good impression. I went on a sunday so they had a sunday roast! I went later so they were out of most of the roast options so I settled for the roast beef. It was definitely tasty but since this was my first "roast" I cant be a huge judge of quality. Overall, I would recommend this place to others
J. G.
Lovely cocktails and staff!
S.
Nice atmosphere very busy inside and out
S.
Great atmosphere, great live music and drinks!
P. W.
Great weekly pub quiz - good selection of good quality food and a wide range of drinks. Bars available both upstairs and downstairs - plenty of seating! Convenient location on the edge of Soho and in easy reach of multiple tube stops.
D. F.
Popped in for a drink before dinner and ended up eating here. We were in town on a Tuesday for a show and they do a meal deal of a burger and a drink for £10. The burgers were lovely and obviously freshly cooked. I had the chicken with brie and onion chutney. All burgers come with plenty of chips and in a brioche bun with salad in. Very good value for money. Will definitely visit again
K. p.
Friendly and happy atmosphere and amazing food
C. T.
Bright pub upstairs with basement music venue. As part of the London Jazz Festive I had tickets to the awesome jazz band "Wild Card" and had drinks and good food from the downstairs bar. What could be better?
L. O.
Just popped in for a break from the hubbub of a hot and busy London. The pub has a lovely wooden interior, plenty of space to eat and some very welcome air conditioning. The food menu is not extensive but is on par for a central London pub. There is a good beer selection and plenty of bottles too. Soft drinks are a bit sparse but there are fruit juices (from cartons not fresh).
L. G.
Very busy but staff super friendly
A. H.
Great selection of booze and the food was really good too. Staff was really friendly also.
V. P.
Lovely wee pub at the edge of Soho. Good range of beers and spirits. Food is ok. Toilets are kept nice and there is a downstairs space for busier days or for when they hold gigs/events. Reasonably priced for the area and has a few outdoor benches.
Great place for a pre or post theatre drink
J. R.
Decent beer, well kept and good temperature.
Friendly barstaff (actually friendly, not faux friendly; had a spirited yet amicable political discussion with one of them).
Fantastic air conditioning.
Didn't try the food after looking at the prices - first item on the menu is a £4.50 scotch egg, which is even more than The Pint Shop in Cambridge, and they make theirs fresh to order.
T. C.
Enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast here, and the service was as good as the food.
C. H.
Great place for a drink or food, ideally located for pre drinks for many of shaftsbury avs theaters. Nice bar downstairs hosting regular live music and I've often been impressed with the lesser known artists and bands doing sets in this characterful venue. Usually a small cover charge at weekends for the live music bar.
P.
And unexpected surprise. Out with misses shipping and nipped in for a pint. A well run pub which is airy, well set out with very good staff. We decided to say for roast dinner on seeing the food come out. Large slabs of beef and a great Sunday roast.
j. h.
One of the best place to go for live music. Groups are not pretentious and quality is always there. The open jam nights are really great to watch and listen. The place gets packed pretty fast so you have to arrive pretty early if you want to sit.
S. O.
Very friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere and we'll worth going in for a drink 🙌🏻
A. C.
This traditional London pub has friendly staff, a simple menu which is reasonably priced- no tourist rip off here! Great for waiting for The Palace Theatre and obviously very central for Leicester Square and other attractions
A. U.
Good cocktails, nice vibes. Perfect post show pint
D. I.
What a great little pub, they have a decent snack menu I'd suggest the popcorn chicken for sure. They also have more seating downstairs if it's too busy upstairs. They have a reasonable range of drinks and the staff are friendly, also they often have interesting shows happening downstairs including magic shows.
S. K.
Plenty of visits to this popular pub. It's not a curry place as the majority of us thought before we'd visited! Friendly bar staff, and a basement bar which usually does events during the week. Even though it is a big pub, it's often difficult to find a seat at peak times because of it's whereabouts, but goes to show it's popularity
E. P.
Great food and drinks! You can listen live music downstairs with different bands each time and have a quiet lovely catch up with friends on the ground floor! Amazing place!
T. F.
They've revamped their look a bit indoors but have maintained the classic London pub vibe. Large for a pub in Soho so great for larger groups. Also good in the summer as they have plenty of standing room outside (unlike some other pubs in soho where you get hemmed in to keep the pavement clear) Good selection of beer and friendly staff
c. b.
slightly disapointed with the chickin dupiaza as the chicken was very dry , staff friendly cost good , food was disapointing. EDIT > I have modified this review due to the fact i have now realised i got this pub mixed up with the spice lounge in derby , this pub in london was great competatively priced great staff and lovely ale.
C. B.
Lovely Victorian bar, busy and lively. Basement bar and live music with £8 entrance fee after 7pm. Decent live indie music, with very reasonable bar prices. Would recommend.
J. F.
Food excellent and friendly staff
A. T.
Always a good pub stop either before or after a show. Great food always freshly cooked, simply ordered from the bar and brought to your table when ready. Varied selection of both alcoholic and soft drinks to choose from.
C. C.
My first pub since lockdown. Lots of hand sanitiser, spaced tables and table service. A really good experience and well worth a visit, plus its on the edge of Soho.
M. G.
Delightful pub for drinks and food, well staffed and covid restrictions are managed well
S. C.
5 star -for basement live music. Amazing atmosphere. Small but talented bands are playing there. Highly recommend. Decent prices. Good location
2 star-for security. Some of them need some training for behavior in civiliazed world. Very rude without a real reason.
c. p.
Always really quick service at the bar. Even when its busy, you never seem to have to wait long. Great selection of beers on tap, including Estrella. The decor is a bit 'brown', but good value
D. H.
Nice fairly large city centre pub on the edge of Leicester Square. The beers are Scottish and the food was excellent. There is a downstairs bar which hosts music evenings.
П. Т.
My favorite pub in London, but unfortunately I've got to admit that it's not for everyone. It's a bit too calm and too civilized to be called a proper pub, but for me that's just the way i like it. So if you're like me, chances are you'll love it
R. M.
Good quality beer and food with a really nice live music!! If you like going out in Soho, this is a key piece in it. You can enjoy a drink in the ground floor, but also you can enjoy the music in the basement. There is always good quality of bands playing there. You must check before get there, because sometimes you have to pay to enjoy the music. but in an affordable way (usually not more than 5 pounds)
S. D.
Nice vibes, standard drinks prices, feels like a local.
K. W.
Great pub. Great service.
C. W.
No fosters staff buzzing around every 5 minutes good prices for beer though
A. N.
Monday's Open Mic is a beautiful event.
W. N.
Great pub in the Soho area of London adjacent to the Palace Theatre. Good food at extremely reasonable prices and the drinks are also very well priced, especially considering the location is in Central London.
R. B. -. E. k.
We are spoilt for choice with bars in Soho.
This is another good place to go for decent drink and chat.
Large pub and really friendly staff.
Lot more media people getting down there for an evening chat.
Good beer and nice vibes.
Recommended.
T. R.
Very nice pub with a good atmosphere. The service was quick and the food was good on a pub-standard for food. We had a nice time between shows on HP and the cursed Child
D. B.
Such a great place to be, everyone's friendly.
R. A.
Stopped here for some food and a drink. Considering its so central is actually not so busy as other which is what we were looking for. You can accrual find a place to sit and hear yourself talking. Prices were reasonable and did arrived quickly if you are in a rush
O. L.
Reliably decent pub in Soho. Always a good beer selection, food menu looks good and they have regular live music downstairs too. Standard London prices for drinks, not silly expensive but around £4-5 for a pint.
D. H.
It's a pub in London.....always going to be full, busy and loud, just as we like them
N. S.
The roast was lovely. The vegetarian option for the roast was delish!
J. S.
We were on a stag do. Popped in here along the way. The staff made us really welcome. The beer was good and the food looked nice although we did not dine there for obvious reasons 😊
C. B.
Reasonably priced for central, not too packed on a Friday night, able to reserve areas for extra peace of mind. Friendly staff and quick glass collection. Had a great time and will go back to try their food (Only there for pre dinner drinks this time)
M. P.
Ordered a beef Burger and fish and chips. Food was great and service very good.
A. S.
Nice old school bar with standard prices. Managed to get Newcastle brown which I was happy about! Seem to have a live music area downstairs so need to revisit.
D. S.
Cool place...live music downstairs...gets busy though so be prepared to stand...they also have vegan beers! Ask the bar staff to explain that one...quite horrifying tbh
A.
Brilliant service... they have Super Bock people, go drink and be merry *responsibly
S. S.
Really nice bar with a great friendly staff! Food was superb for the price. Strongly recommend this place.
Also met this lovely creature here.
E. W.
Very good pub in the heart of London's theatre world. Vast away of drinks including cask ales. Perfect for pre-theatre food & drinks and the staff are friendly and welcoming too.
S. I.
Food was so fresh and tasty. Really lovely
D. C.
Brilliant night of live music with Playmaker - great venue
R. A.
Not a bad pub given its a really touristy area. Staff are friendly, good selection of beers and they have live music playing in the basement by some great bands.
A. A. M.
Great little pub, wonderful atmosphere, warm, friendly staff. Good selection of wines and beers, at reasonable prices for central London.
A. S.
The place where on certain days you can experience really high quality jazz and blues gigs and mashups. Many international artists come there while visiting. Some ppl from record companies visit the place looking for new stars. Its also like a way how to get good connections, find band, find vocalist, manager etc. Trying to visit this place each time when I am in London.
S. H.
Decent. Beautiful indoor decorations. Friendly service.
S. L.
It was raining outside so me and my friend came across this pub. Good service, nice staff and reasonable prices
A. M.
We stopped here as part of a Soho tour and heard it used to be a studio that was a big part of the music scene in the 60s/70s before cit was this bar.
Good beer, lots of music artwork and still hosts jazz music nights in the bar downstairs.
F. A.
Nice pub for a cheeky drink during the day with some nice food selections. Gets quite busy in the evenings but still nice enough to have a drink. There's a downstairs bar as well.
D. G.
Good old English pub.
C. W.
Great pub in central London. Always full of local young professionals after work hours.
There's a space downstairs and they often have live music performances.
P. A.
Beautiful "London" pub, yes pretty obvious giving it's location, but the style is traditional with a few splashes of contemporary colour. Very quiet early lunch time but I am sure it has it's moments.
D. K.
A great little pub with a good selection of beers on tap. Haven't been, but there is live music occasionally downstairs.
M. P.
Good prices for food, for example soup and a sandwich for under £6, plus a reasonably priced bar menu.
Lively, atmospheric, quick and efficient service with a separate bar downstairs for live music. Good location, worth a visit.
J. o.
Nice big pub, comfortable seating, good choice of drinks. We didn't eat but the food looked very nice. Would visit here again.
J. S.
Done out nice staff frienly but doesn't have the same buzz as it used to have years ago
M. H.
Nice pub next door to Palace theatre, have only had drinks here and good selection of drinks and service has always been quick, place has a nice atmosphere.
A. M.
Nice place to eat and to listen to live music. The staff is very friendly and it’s perfect to eat burgers (the chicken one is amazing).
J. H.
Typical English pub. Food ok, while nothing to write home about, prices are decent. Great staff, friendly, helpful and efficient service. Can be very loud and crowded evenings.
H.
Absolutely love this place so much character, with great food and drink on offer and friendly staff would definitely recommend if your strolling around London and you want to take the weight off your feet for a drink or two.
T. K.
Located slap bang in the heart of Soho and the West end. There's friendly service, normal prices for the area, and good decor. The food was ok - my Turkey Xmas was good but my companions' vegetarian main was a bit bland, and a lobster starter appeared and treated undercooked.
To be honest, noone complained so management were nonethewiser.
It's ok, but there are so many other options in the area to explore which makes it a challenge to give more than 3 stars
L. C.
It was wonderful. We celebrated the life of Kirsty Maccoll & received a great service from the staff. A brilliant time had by all my family 2 celebrate 2gether. Thank u
M. P.
Excellent pub with real ales & good food in a very central location, a music venue downstairs too!
F. V.
The beer selection could be better, but the pub is nice although it doesn't have many seats and gets packed very easily
k. m.
Staff are brilliant. Fantastic service. Thank you for looking after the dog too
L. S.
Awesome pub. The pub never feels really full. The location is superb and the food+drinks are great.
There's a stage downstairs with a lot of live music!
R. F.
It's a decent option if you want to hang outside for drinks in a crowded Soho evening. They do have a couple of great options of beers, besides the usual pub lagers, so it's ok, but don't expect a nice cosy place there.
P. S.
Nice pub within easy walking distance of Covent Garden. Excellent and reasonably priced Sunday roast. Basement bar is a music venue.
G. B.
Great bar, great staff, great location
J. W.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere on a Friday afternoon. Their recommendations proved to be very tasty! Will be back next time in London.
I. A.
Good food at extremely reasonable prices and the drinks are also very well priced, especially considering the location is in Central London.
J. E.
The music was a bit loud, which made conversations a bit tricky
v. f.
Fun Monday night with musicians performing original songs. Encouraging and supportive environment for anyone who wants to sing live surrounded by like minded artists.
A. B.
Plays live music in the basement, polite and professional managers, assistant managers and lovely bar staff. SAVES FOOD TO 10pm....a lovely place to spend the evening
A. S.
Great music, great bands downstairs, but small stage, the sound is not the best. Small venue. Stage is lower than audience and view is part obstructed by columns
L. M.
I went timer friends before Christmas so it might have been busier than usual but it was very noisy, crowded and uncomfortable. Big pub right by Cambridge Circus so a convenient place to meet but not my choice.
O. L.
A fun place. Nice atmosphere.
D. R.
They let you stand where you like and there's always space at the bar to order another drink. Good place to go with colleagues on Friday.
N. P.
Nice place , great location.

I do enjoy the Spice of Life and wonder where it got its name from...It reminds me of the film Dune with the giant worms but instead of a world infected with these creatures it is a pub with a great selection of beverages, live music and a good location centrally. Spice is Life.
B. L.
Enjoyed fish and chips along with a nice English Ale. Nice atmosphere and location. Look forward to eating there again on our trip to London this summer!
M. B.
We usually pop in here whenever we're in London. It's pretty central to the theatres and they do some good food that isn't over priced.
g. f.
Good pub, great atmosphere and live music what more can you want
A. O.
Good vibe about the place, good fashioned but in the centre of London
R. B.

J. B.
Nice! Relaxing choons played by wonderful bandz in the basement. Be prepared to queue for about 30 minutes at the bar there though chuh the service is awful. But you can still listen to the choons played by the bandz as you do so.
s. b.
Good service, unfortunately the music club down does not start the performances on time, but once the performances started they were excellent
