Reviews of The St George'S Tavern
p. t.
Fish & Chips was delicious as was the Toad in the Hole and Steak & Guiness Pie. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.
Q. L.
Nice pub located just next to Victoria station, in a quieter street. Friendly staff and good drinks selection. They do bookings too, very useful for sports events (eg 6 nations) when pubs tend to be really busy!
S. S. H.
Nice place close to Victoria Station. Good food and atmosphere.
L. T.
Fabulous service and food was beautiful. Wine was up there too a*
See you again soon.
F. P.
Stepped in to this pub from the cold walking from Victoria Station. Great find. It was warm and inviting. We ordered at the bar, and drinks were brought to our table. Pleasant visit, great service. We will stop in again for dinner and drinks.
S. W.
Stopped by on a saturday night for dinner. Regrettably this clashed with end of england vs scotland rugby!! We did manage to find a 'quiet' table. Friendly and prompt service, good food, decent value for money. Handy location close to Victoria station.
P. L.
I love this much this pub.. on the corner of my flat. The staff are really nice and the beer is amazing. I recommend
J. D.
My husband and I met friends in the St George's Tavern last night for a meal and drinks. We all enjoyed ourselves, the food was good and our waitress Erica was very attentive and friendly. We would recommend this pub and definitely will be making a return visit at some point.
D. P.
Great Pub. Went for tea Friday before watching Hamilton at the Victoria Theatre. Food was amazing!! I recommend the Pies or Fish n Chips. Good price, lovely cosy pub, friendly staff, great location.
T. “. D.
A very lovely Tavern. The food was delicious and no doubt freshly made. Our experience was made even better by our server, Erica. She was very friendly and chatty during the entire evening, which I appreciated. The only thing that could be improved could be the restrooms, which were a little dirty and slightly below par. However, I would reccomend eating here and will definetly visit this establishment again in the future.
S. R.
Fantastic food and the pub was buzzing. Great place to meet up for a drink and for a meal.
M. H.
Loverly delicious Sunday roast. But beware you will need an empty stomach for the generous portion you receive. Only little niggle was the lighting was a bit to dim, especially when trying to red menus
E. W.
That waitress was fantastic nothing too much for her, she gets a gold star from our party of eleven and the food was pretty good too.
G. J.
Found this on Google while waiting for our coach back to Birmingham, food was freshly cooked and of a very good standard, excellently presented and at a reasonable price. Erica, who served us, was very friendly and made our meal experience even more enjoyable, when we are in the area we will visit again.
J. B.
Fantastic service and food. Spent a week in London, had dinner here probably 4 times out of 6.
Loved the selection of ciders as well.
If I make it back to London, I *will* be coming back here.
C. K.
Toad in the hole is lovely, service top notch and quiet dining room in back was great for us to enjoy dinner with the kids. The clotted cream cheesecake is light and delicious.
A. Y.
Not bad for a traditional pub. Could have been more attentive at the bar but since it was busy it was good enough. 5 maybe next time depending on attentiveness of staff at the bar.
d. w.
Amazing staff, professional management. Erica our waitress was such a pleasure to have as our waitress. She went above and beyond and served us the best fish and chips! Also the dining room downstairs is Winston Churchill's old haunt, so we got a delicious dinner with a side of history too!
C. B.
A really nice pub with both indoor and outdoor seating. They serve a great pint of chilled Guinness as well as other beers. Additionally the fish and chips is very good.
M. F.
Fantastic staff and management. Took excellent care of our party of 70 over the weekend. Tasty food and good beer.
N. N.
Great food good beer and really friendly staff. Definitely go back
A. N.
A great place to eat, super friendly, Erica serving us couldn’t do enough. Great food at a reasonable price. If you’re in the area, make a visit.
K. B.
I came here yesterday with my family on route to see a musical. the food was really nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the garlic chicken shnizel. 😀
J.
Cold Beer, Good food, nice Service. Last place that i visit in London. Good ending
G. P.
Amazing cosy and friendly pub with great and well served beer selection. Look forward to going back!
R. R.
Very comfortable... Great staff especially Louis.. Loved the steak and ale pie and the ham hock terrine. And wonderful selection of beers and ales.
O. A. -. D. W.
Nice busy atmosphere here, great selection of beers and very reasonable prices. It was quite a cold day when we turned up for a drink and there was no heating on - everyone was sat in their coats. That was my only reason for knocking off a star, would have been lovely to sit in here all afternoon had the temperature made it a bit cosier!
A. A. M.
Wonderful British breakfast! A real English pub with the traditional breakfast (beans, sausages, mushrooms, eggs...) Good coffee. And very interesting offers, good prices.
A. H.
Nice pub with good food. The staff was also nice. Definitely would recommend to have something to eat or drink here
D. H.
Friendly staff, good food with good prices. Price is comparable to pubs outside London.
M. S.
Friendly pub in the centre of Victoria, visited twice in 2 days. Food good with a good selection of beers too.
J. M.
Found this pub when staying at a nearby hotel and so glad we did (or not!!). Lovely, traditional tavern with friendly and thoughtful staff. I was given an umbrella when the heavens opened up on Sunday evening which was very thoughtful. If we return to the area, we will defintely spend more time here (despite the raging hangover the next day but that's my own fault!)
M. W.
Great beer selection, great service and tremendous nachos. What's not to like?
S.
I had the chicken and mushroom pie at St. George’s, and it was amazing!! So delicious and great portions. Our waitress was VERY friendly and so were the other patrons. I would love to go back to try other items from the menu.
B. M.
Good food, slow service. Must ask for your check if you're seated in the back part...sometimes two or three times
C. S.
On the CMAT, but not much ale as he's waiting for the dray. Had a bottle of 6.2% IPA not sure I could quaff many of those. Nice pub though - does a good trade in early morning breakfasts
D. C. (. W. D.
I absolutely loved this place! The food was excellent, the beer flows like beer and the people are very nice!
A. D.
Great breakfast specials while waiting to pick up passport at passport office next door. Great selection of beer and the seating area outside gets the sun perfectly during the day. Lovely staff.
J. H.
Found this pub by google as working away and didn’t know the area to well got to the pub met at the door welcomed in food was very good amounts. Good food cooked well, didn’t wait long for food either. Price was more than reasonable for the price. Staff friendly and welcoming. Good atmosphere in the pub felt like you could talk to the locals. Drinks were good as well nice pints. Very good experience would go again without hesitation.
L. B. (.
Prices ok considering it's practically central London.
Great food, nice staff.
(Photo was taken after I'd eaten 1 half of my club Sandwich! 🙂)
G. T.
Gluten Free menu is light but good options. GF beer also. Quite good service and seating for a guiet pub. Good place to hide out when work is getting tiresome. Team meetings are convenient too.
C. J.
Found this pub on Google. Looked at the rating and reviews and decided to try it out. Made very welcome by the staff. Pints ordered whilst looking at the food menu. Good selection on the menu. End result was a good plate of food nice beer with good friendly staff. Just what you are looking for when working away from home. Wished we had found it last night rather than nando's.
R. C.
Good pub, reasonably priced, food was good - i recommend the baked macaroni and cheese!
v. o.
Went in for a quick drink as it was a hot day. Nice service, sat outside, polite staff.
J. W.
... excellent friendly service, good food 🍲 and safe environment. Indoor and outdoor seating - great public house experience close to Victoria Station. Highly recommended 😊 ☑️
A. R.
Love the atmosphere and the beer... great staff, nice food
j. m.
I really liked this place even though it smells like pee col beer and a great atmosphere
R. D.
Just called in for a quick pint when walking past, found it to be ok
H. P.
Great Guiness tap beer and good fish & chips but unkind staffs
F. B.
Great food and great service. Good portions and well cooked food thats well presented.
Thank you Nicholsons for bringing the Pie Houses back!
B. K.
Very nice atmosphere with great people. Would love to go back again.
P. S.
Friendly pub. Good food, good beer and good cheerful service.
K. F.
Great food, lovely little pub - need these back everywhere.. miss my local so much
M. T.
Nice pub with good atmosphere. Great staff, nice food. Not very busy, good steak and ale pie!
M. M.
Great for a drink! But also has good food, traditional English kitchen.
A. B.
Nice place for a beer. Nice beer garden. Although I only had time for a quick visit I'll visit again when I'm in the area.
T. S.
Great traditional pub, very convenient for Victoria station if you have time to kill. A very impressive selection of ales, kept in great condition, highly recommended if you like nice beer. It has a great atmosphere but not too noisy even at peak time, so I'd definetly going there again.
M. D.
Good selection of beers, the pies are top notch!
J. Y.
Beautiful and classic place, they just need a Chimay or something alongside the brewery's (nice) fayre...
V. I. N.
Just the place to have a lovely pint of Guinness before you catch a 🚆 from Victoria.
J. H.
Phenomenal fish and chips at a good price. The whole place screamed "authentic British pub" and was our first stop in London. Prices were very good and service fast (as long as you know that you need to order at the bar; they aren't coming to your table to take your order unless you're at one of the few large tables in the back). It was a little off the beaten track but the few minutes of walking was definitely worth it, and we got the feeling that it mainly catered to locals.
P. S.
I pop here for work lunch a few times. Good menu and nice choice of drinks which are all reasonably priced. Quiet location too, especially considering how central the location is. Service is usually pretty quick although one time it took nearly 20 minutes to make a cheese sandwich for some reason.
Most importantly, I keep finding myself coming back!
D. S.
I was in the area and in desperate need of an alcoholic drink after a dreadful football result (!) and remembered this pub from a couple of years ago when I had a pub lunch. The pub had been chosen by a friend of mine who works in the area, so she knows the best local pubs very well.
I didn't eat this time but noticed that prices are between £9-£15 which is pretty good by central London standards.
Our drinks and service were absolutely fine.
Pleasant, traditional pub décor.
The pub is easy to find, in the street behind Victoria station.
T. S.
I've been visiting this place for over 1 years now, never disappointed. Food is good, prices are average and the service attentive.
Only thing - the names of the options on the menu are very similar to each other. Be careful when ordering, as it might get confusing.
That aside, highly recommended.
M. R.
Lovely place for breakfast, friendly staffs, efficient service
J. N.
Lovely location but not a terribly impressive pub, worse food than a weatherspoons and beer was flat
V. C.
We actually stopped in here for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised! The vegetarian sausage is really good, even to a meat eater. Great pub filled with history. Apparently Churchill lived around the corner for a few years and frequented this place. Service was good and enough seating.
D. R.
Good English food and ale. Friendly staff. Sit downstairs.
F. K.
Packed. Noisy. OK but not as good as I expected.
A. P.
Just the place for a good breakfast or a snack while waiting to get into the passport office just across the road. Victoria Street Railway and Coach Stations are close by. It is a pub with an old fashioned look. Great bar staff make you welcome every time.
J. S.
I cannot speak highly enough of the bar staff .This beautiful pub lured us in with a fantastic façade and well managed interior. The Meantime ale brewed and piped directly to the pumps in the bar was delightful. We ordered a meal and were served very quickly by the extremely friendly courteous staff. I now know where to visit for my ale and lunches on any future travels to London.
p. h.
It's pie paradise here, having a separate pie minister menu. The dragon pie was flaming good
P.
Very nice pub. Good offer of different breakfast meals. You have to order and pay meals at the bar. The service is very friendly. I was not crowded in the morning during the week. The pub is located quite close to the Victoria train station. Price was reasonable.
S. C.
Seriously good, stick to your ribs food. I had the fish and chips. They were great. Others had vegetarian lentil lie, vegetarian cauliflower burger, and one haddock fish cakes. All were excellent. The Mac and cheese was also really good. AND.. save room for dessert. The profiteroles were delicious. They also had some cool memorabilia of Winston Churchill. We would definitely go back.
J. W.
We were in the area and had not tried any fish and chips during our visit to London, so we decided to stop in. Now, I have nothing to compare it to because it was the only fish and chips we had while we were there, and we were starving when we went in, but I'd say that this was quite a good meal. We ordered at the counter and found a table, and the food came out a short while later. The portion sizes were large. I also got their mac and cheese for my daughter, and all the adults quietly fought over who would eat what she didn't want because it was so delicious. I'd certainly visit here again!
P. B.
Your typical chain Nicholson's pub. Even though you can find other pubs like this everywhere in London, the staff was friendly and the pub itself was clean and pleasantly decorated the classic way.
Stopped by for a quick meal before heading on the coach since it's conveniently located close to the coach station and Victoria train station. The food was very good and the beer as well (but it was Belgian).
All in all a really nice place.
K. E.
Booked a table here with some work colleagues. We were met at the door, told about their Covid regulations which are very thorough and welcome. Drinks and very nice food was served at our table and all for a very reasonable price.
D. F.
English breakfast for a fair price with a friendly service
S. D.
Had a very disappointing Christmas lunch today with a group of friends. 2 course meal at £30 was hugely overpriced. The turkey dinner was cold and the vegetables overcooked and soggy. The prawns in the prawn cocktail were rather chewy. On the positive side, our waitress was very friendly and helpful and the service was good considering she had several tables to attend to.
P. R.
Excellent Service - had just left passport office and saw it across the street - started well with the best pint of Guinness I have had in a long time. Onto food - cracking fish and chips only problem was my partner had the chicken pie which was out of this world. Lady waitress was superb.
L. M.
Classic pub with delicious food and friendly staff. Loved their service!
m. j.
The pie was so delicious! And the dessert was yummy as well. Just the British meal we needed to complete our trip to England. Friendly server. We felt prices were reasonable as well but keep in mind we tend to share a meal and dessert.
A. A.
My family visited from America and came here three times in ten days. I had the vegetarian bangers and mash (which I miss dearly) and my parents had the fish and chips. The food was amazing and the service was great. The owner even stayed late on Christmas Eve and made us food and drinks. We aren’t used to everything closing on Christmas and Christmas Eve and we probably wouldn’t have eaten that day if it weren’t for him. He was so welcoming and cheerful! If we ever go back to London this will be first on our list.
M. P.
It’s a pub like many others in Londoneasy to spot from the outside, inside a selection of cask and keg beers with some pub food. Reasonably spacious, so can accommodate a larger number of people without feeling too crowded.
We stopped by for dinner and drinks. Food was overall good, beer decent, service polite though not too enthusiastic. Overall nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave about either.
S. L.
Very friendly staff , good food all home cooked
N. G.
Always great, an oasis in Victoria, but can get busy. The menu is great, but another pub that insists on selling expensive pies; I can't remember anyone eating one. Olde and relaxing with outside seating. Way better than any pub close to Victoria.
B. M.
Atmosphere, food and service were all wonderful. My first choice was their steak and ale pie...but I got there too late and it was sold out, so I opted for the chicken and chips. My husband had salmon appetizer and part of my meal as there was too much for me to eat in one sitting.
G. B.
We stop off here after seeing the show Wicked, for a wonderful meal of fish cakes, salad and new potatoes, freshly cooked, delishious, our Waitress Erica very friendly polite, couldn't do enough for us. Very clean place, Good prices and we will be back again in the near future, thank you for ending our day so nicely. x.
B. R.
An excellent pub near Victoria Station in London. Service is precise and prompt, drink selection is excellent and food is varied and well made. Very highly recommended if you are looking for a traditional pub done right and near Victoria.
E. B.
I enjoyed the atmosphere, which was especially appreciated after a long 12 hour day excursion. The beer tasted good, the people were joyous, and I walked out with a smile on my face. The food looked good though they stopped serving at 9 p.m. after I arrived at 9:03 p.m. on a Sunday so I'll have to try it next time.
L. M. G.
Yes, this is a Nicholson's chain pub- but a wonderful find. Staff was very friendly, local craft brews on tap (because really, did I come to London to drink the beer I can get at home?) and extra seating downstairs in the Churchill dining room. Excellent food, with huge portions, and some interesting offerings. Try the lemon tart with rose sugar! VERY happy with our meal there, and highly recommend it.
J. K.
This seems like a rather popular pub in the area given how crowded it can be on a Friday evening. That being said, it also has a lovely dining room downstairs, where you can enjoy some truly tasty fish and chips served by very friendly staff. The beer selection downstairs could be improved, but more is served upstairs, from what I recall.
M. G.
Nice interior decoration, food was very tasty.l liked the layout of the pub.
J. Y.
Really enjoyed our dinner in the downstairs dining room! The Salmon and the St Stephanus beer were great. We had a really friendly server and we will definitely go again next time we are in London
P. W.
We have spent a lovely week in London. What made our time additionally lovely was spending three great evenings at ST. GEORGE'S TAVERN. What a great find. We spent our first evening upstairs which was a nice way to experience a British Pub. The next two visits were with Erica downstairs at Churchills. We met and brought two new friends with us and enjoyed fun conversations, great drinks and delicious meals. We are sad to leave London and look forward to our next return. Thank you Erica for being a wonderful host! See you again.
M. O.
Perfectly pleasant pub with a restaurant area where you can't sit unless you order food, even with a drink. Prices are average for central London and there are a few tables outside on the street to sit at. A little bit touristy at times but that's to be expected of the area being on close proximity to Victoria Station and Victoria Coach Station.
i. c.
Typical old style London pub popular with a younger age range...we were old enough to be grandparents to most of them! Music was a bit loud but satisfyingly 80's so good for us oldies. Friendly, prompt service and not to pricey either.
S. K.
This is very pub, restaurant and Tavern like they call them selves. If you go there little bit later (early evening) and want to eat then please go directly downstairs because it much more peaceful than upstares. I am actually little bit lucky that I walked in to this place with my wife.
MENU
They have really nice menu for almoust every eater. I mean you can ligh dishes and also steaks, hamburgers, pies etc.
DRINKS
There is a lot variety with beer and other drink selections.
Also people are very nice and one lady downstares was just awesome!
C. C.
Amazing food and even better service! Lovely lady downstairs in the restaurant no wonder she has 10 years of service with you - absolute credit!
Only thing disappointing was couldn’t leave her a tip due to having no cash!
Will definitely return
M. C.
Enjoy Bristish beer in typical British gastro pub.
P.
Fine but fairly generic. Part of the same chain as many other pubs that have different names but are actually part of the same company. The menus are exactly the same. Not that it's a bad thing, just that nothing differentiates it. Would go back but not out of my way.
B. C.
Had some pints in this pub as part of our London pub crawl. Spacious despite having quite a few people, reasonable prices and clean attractive lay out made for a good atmosphere. I was a bit off one of my party got ID checked despite being in his mud 20s but the barman was reasonable enough in all fairness
S. H.
lovely meal and very friendly waitress
M. P.
Like most London pubs, arrive early if you want to sit. This is a happy, traditional pub where the locals come to hang after work. It gets very crowded by 6:00 PM, with standing room only. The food is decent, the beer and wine good. Add good company and you will have a grand time.
A. S.
Maybe it's because I had such low expectations to begin with, but I didn't think this pub was all that bad. It was tremendously busy but we were served quickly, and it looks quite nice inside - nothing like the other bland chain pubs in the area. Plus, they sold mulled wine! Considering the quality of the other nearby pubs (in a word: low), I think this is the best option.
H. “. S.
Visited St George's Tavern whilst awaiting a passport renewal, had hours to kill so we had lunch here, food was great, well cooked, decent portions and steak was well done as per request. Friendly waitress and service, can't say nowt wrong to be honest. Recommended.
P. M.
Stopped for desserts, drinks, and tea. Desserts were good. Gigantic beer selection. It was very busy with most having meals that looked delicious and seemed to be well received by all the patrons. Will return for a meal.
C. L.
First place I stopped in London after getting off my plane at Gatwick and riding the train to Victoria station. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. First time trying a traditional English breakfast, I thought it was pretty good but I don’t have much to compare it to
b. d.
Not a bad pub at all!
Only came in for a drink, and there is a much cheaper wetherspoons down the road - but I actually relaxed here
Those waiting for their passport renewal, this is right across the road, outdoor seating facing the sun (on the rare days there is any) and it's a place you can relax
5/5 - spend more, relax more
C. M.
First time in London and must have visited this pub at leat 5 times. Service was always good and food was great. Each time I would ask "what do you drink" and was always delighted to try a new pint. Will return when I visit London again in 2016.
J. W.
Food ok. Good atmosphere. Had some time to kill whilst waiting for my passport to be processed by HM Government opposite. Fish finger sandwich was overpriced and was fish goujons rather than breaded fingers. Prefer the Leon ones. Chips are triple cooked and we're very salty. Service was good and nice friendly staff, but that said I wouldn't hunt the place out again.
K. G.
Popped into this pub for after-work drinks the other day. I'd heard bad things about it so was actually pleasantly surprised to find that the decor was quite nice and despite the crowds of Christmas drinkers we managed to get a table quite quickly. The back of the pub is much nicer with carpet and comfy seats and there is a relaxed dining room downstairs by the looks of things. However, there appears to be only *one* ladies toilet which for a pub of this size is just utterly ridiculous.
J. H.
The Tavern was clean, the food was hot and tasty. The Staff were polite and friendly. Well worth a visit. Not far from Victoria Station near the UK Passport office.
M. M.
Good atmosphere for a drink before the train home.
J. S.
Really lovely older pub, lots of seating, a few outside, excellent attentive staff. I will certainly be going back, highly recommend.
P. J.
Revisited this pub on 4 Dec 12. First visit for a long time - I used to work near here. It feels like a chain pub - which it is. Busy. Reasonable range of cask beers, but not very well kept.
Revisited 25/02/16. Beers were good!
E. F.
Went for dinner here as we were staying local. It was busy upstairs so we went to the dining room downstairs which was very quiet. Our host was very friendly and helpful. Music was festive (december). Food was homey and filling. Thoroughly enjoyable. Would definatly recommend.
P. L.
Great pit stop location for a pint
D. P.
Very nice pub located conveniently near Victoria station. Atmosphere was peaceful and decor suitably british.
Expensive for a pint though, but what do you expect from a gastropub in central.
Staff were pleasant enough.
Only troubling aspect of my visit was the gentleman's toilets. A small window pane to the street is clear glass, it was covered by tissue but some tissue had fallen off. I'm pretty sure half of london saw me take a dump.
I. C.
Took a bit of time to order then get the bill afterwards but the food was really good, everything was just right. A few drinks not available on the menu but theres a good choice so that wasn't a problem. Not expensive either considering the location. Quite impressed.
S. D.
Good place to wait while your passport is being processed. reasonable collection of beers at London prices. Quite a few people eating lunch and from what I can see it looks good. The menu is quite comprehensive but London prices again.
S. M.
Nice pub in central London, pleasant environment and decor. However, £5.50 for a regular bowl of veggy soup feels a bit pricey.
A. T.
Decent pub. I came here a few times after work in a Friday or sometimes I'd walk home from Victoria to Brixton and sink a couple of coldies on the way and had no complaints. Pretty quiet every time I've been though.
L. D.
Nice surroundings. Was disappointed with service from 1 barmaid who totally ignored me and I was the only one at the bar when someone else came up and was served before me. Small dark haired girl with black top on wed 17th April around 4pm. Was then served by another pleasant blond haired girl who came of her frsk
P. H.
Lovely friendly service, near the hotel as well been here before would recommend.
P. C.
Large tanks of craft beer with a well signposted "beer pipe"...my Augustus Gloop beer dream moment.
P. P.
During our stay in London we have been to St. Georges Taverne three times (breakfast and lunch) and it was always amazing. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff very friendly and the atmosphere was great! We would absolutely recommend it and we will come back!
Absolut empfehlenswert! Top Atmosphäre, sehr leckeres, typisches englisches Essen und eine sehr freundliche Bedienung!
A. B.
Raining Cats and Dogs, waiting outside Victoria Blue Cross Vets, a friendly pub opposite, who could resist?
Pale Ale and piping hot Macaroni Cheese chased away the cold!
K. K.
Nice corner pub very close to Victoria station. The day I visited it was summer with a sunny evening. Really nice seeing the doors open and patrons spilling out onto the street. There are quite a few pubs around the area with St George's Tavern worth a visit if you are close by.
C. S.
Wholesome food and wonderful ambience. Felt very welcomed and was seated immediately. Only recommendation would be for a more vast alcohol menu. Robin was our waiter and his service was first class!!
P. L.
I visited The St George's Tavern because Victoria is bereft of places to go in the evening and it was the only place open - however I was pleasantly surprised by it. There is plenty of space inside to sit and it is nicely decorated. They also have a good selection of drinks on draught, including one of my favourite ciders (Old Rosie). A solid pub if you find yourself in the area in need of a drink.
S. C.
Called in late Saturday afternoon for a bit of food and a few drinks before going on to the flight club nearby, the food, drinks and service from Erica were so good we returned after the darts to finish the night off.
Thank you Erica.
j. h.
The food was delicious, and the staff were lovely ,especially the waitress ,such a nice lady. A traditional British pub .
T. G.
Very quick service and a great atmosphere.
B. C.
Nice place, the food was really good but the service... terrible. We waited for an hour just to order and our waitress was really rude and she incredibly served the last arrived tables before us! When we called her she was really annoyed...a good place to eat but ehm.
M. J.
An OK pub for a pint before getting a train. Busy post work, but fine. Not tried the food, but always seems to be full tables. Beer options are OK. An uncomplicated pub, no complaints.
D. T.
Said that in Belgravia there are just a few pubs, this one is quite nice. A good selection of beers, nice and warm ambience. Food is ok but bigger portions would be appreciate. Steaks taste good even tough we could discuss what thick means. Dishes could be warmer. Overall good food and beer. Defenetly a good choice if you are here around.
S. R.
Me and fiance stayed overnight and came across this lovely pub as we were staying just down the road, lovely bar staff, very welcoming, very helpful with the way the underground works (we from the north east) definitely will go back when we pay a visit to london again.
B. B.
Went here twice, Ericka was a delightful server, breakfast was huge and very good. Good burger, chicken sandwich and beers/cider. Busy place on a Tuesday evening.
E. S.
Another great London gem. Cosy, warm and they have fresh lager in tanks. Perfect place. Try steak and ale pie which was recommended to me by waitresses, great choice.
L.
Great food, and staff was amazing giving me and the wife samples of each beer before we made up our minds. Had a very pleasant time!
P. N.
Pub opposite the Passport Office Victoria also friendly and welcoming staff. We had a quick drink on our way to the passport office but would come back again.
J. W.
A nice English pub. The staff are nice and the food was good. The toilets are upstairs, so not ideal if you have mobility restrictions.
A. G.
Good service and a delicious breakfast my son loved the pancakes and not crazy expensive either toilets really need some attention though, all the staff were friendly and my son gave one lady a hug upon leaving.
A. P.
For my taste the beer was way to watery. The interior had a rustic-style, which I liked but some of the chairs and tables were really messed up. The service on the other hand was excellent.
M. R.
Amazing food. Great hospitality . Was on a day visit to London with my dad and found the tavern. One of the best meals I've ever had. Perfect ending to a perfect day.
M. B.
Very good and tasty pizza
M. P.
Super service and professional staff that know what beer they offer. Prices are standard a little over average. Perfect place for a pint or 2
J. L.
This pub was a fantastic ending to my London excursion. The fish and chips were an excellent choice and they had wonderful deserts. The atmosphere was pleasant and the décor was entertaining.
C. S.
Great club sandwich, and well kept beers. Good selection of ales, sometimes in small batch barrels. Lunch and a drink will cost around a tenner.
C. C.
Nice local bar with food, good place to watch the rugby and Guinness is good. Welsh landlady was very accommodating to a large bunch of Irish to watch the Grand Slam. 1 minute walk from Victoria Station.
C. M.
Fantastic experience and great staff!!
A. D.
An average british pub in London. Good selection of beer. Spacious enough for larger groups of people. Definitely going there again. Haven't tried the food there yet.
M. C.
Great place!! Great food, great beer, our server was amazing. Very small dining so either come early, or book a table.
P. R.
It was fine, I guess. Guy at the bar didn't seem very nice, though. We had a beer, a soda and some nachos. The nachos looked simple but the sauces were pretty good.
N. F.
Hubbub corner location with small amount of outside seating & people stand outside but parking is difficult during restrictive hours. Do fish & chips for about £13. Traditional Victorian looking public house.
M. C.
It's a nice pub with a great atmosphere and I like it. Food is nice, staff a great. Like any pub it can get busy. Will go back soon.
D. C.
Lovely pub, lovely history. Non uniformred guy, bald guy, sort of passive aggressive yet with the pre tense of delivery great customer service by finishing each sentence with mate; he much preferred clearing tables and washing glasses than serving waiting customers, sort of ruined it. I do however appreciate that most people are probably twats.
I. N.
The fish and chips tasted like it should be, no surprises there. The manager/owner introduced the malt vinegar to go with my dish. He was also entertaining and took good care of the guests.
S. N.
Very delicate food, especially the brown bread toasted sandwich, unlike other brown bread it's crispy outside and soft inside, love that. And good music and comfy sits.
K. B.
Great pub with excellent service from Erica & Phil - will be returning!
M. M.
I loved the food!
Great service!!
J. M.
Great place to wait for a passport to be processed. Food looked good although I didn't order. Outside seating next to very busy road.
G. S.
Good variety of beers. Very clean and well kept.
Friendly staff. Well located, off the main road.
A bit expensive but you expect that in a London pub.
I. A.
Great food.
Good service.
A. B.
Great pub meals at a great price. It was busy so our table had dirty dishes on it for the whole time so a bit dirty to eat our meals. But the waiter did apologize.
R. R.
A great and very old pub. Nice outside space on the cobbled courtyard. Lunch here is ok, fish finger sandwich for me. Can get very busy in the evenings after work.
P. S.
Much altered, since the 1980s, when it was a typical Victorian Westminster corner pub. The pub is near both Victoria Coach Station and Victoria Railway Station, but travellers need to either know it's there, or come upon the pub by accident. Consequently, the pub doesn't get too cluttered with wheelie luggage. Instead, it gets cluttered with office workers. There are more offices in that area than in times past, when the emphasis was more upon the residential.
D. S.
Great staff and lovely meal.
Z. P.
The first thing I did on coming into The St George's Tavern was order a half pint of some very strong cider – it somehow seemed like the right thing to do! This traditional-ish pub has barrels for tables, old show posters framed on the walls and fruit machine games in the corner. However, it's also painted a very Farrow and Ball shade of grey so it's a little bit trendier than you'd expect. Next time, I'll order a G&T instead.
T. B.
Nice service, ok prices
V.
Great local lager and sticky toffee pudding. Great place to hang out and relax after a long day seeing the sights and within walking distance from our hotel, too.
A.
Delish, a little confusing about how to order
D. G.
Extremely friendly bar manager, good selection and outside seating! Mind.. you can tell the barbers aren't trimming beards at the moment ✂️
M. P.
Interior is nice. I had 21 day aged rib eye stake and I think it not worth 16 quid it cost. Wetherspoon does Angus stake which is twice bigger and cheaper plus you get a pint with it.
M. P.
Quick service, great traditional food (especially pie) and amazing beer. Very gentle people and lovely location
T. P.
Excellent service and friendly staff.
L. H.
Amazing pies both vegan and meat ones, service was great too very friendly and near to the theatre district and good value for money highly recommended and we will be back
A. H.
Best pie in town. Great service.
E. D.
Keep a good pint of doom bar and nice fish and chips. One night stay in area St George's looked welcoming from the outside and not like a lot of plastic pubs.
M. C.
Food menu looked very nice, just had a drink staff were very friendly.
h.
With hindsight, 2 stars might have been a bit harsh. I’ve just become very discerning when it comes to pubs lately. Perfectly decent pub, just not particularly notable.
t. r.
Familiar pub at t'he heart of Victoria's quarter. Love It!
S. C.
Called in late Saturday afternoon for a bit of food and a few drinks before going on to the flight club nearby, the food, drinks and service from Erica were so good we returned after the darts to finish the night off.
Thank you Erica.
N. C. M.
Nice

Lovely pub. Felt relaxed and comfortable. Great lunch and served by a friendly helpful waitress.

Lovely pub. Felt relaxed and comfortable. Great lunch and served by a friendly helpful waitress.
P. H.
Excellent pub...staff and manager great.
L. G.
Good atmosphere and great selection of beer but £5.25 a pint...Central London prices rule but that said beer was very good and so was the food.
H. E. #.
A lovely little bolt hole to wait out in, if you are going to the Passport Office, friendly and helpful staff.
Intrigued by Churchills Dining Room will investigate more next visit.

With hindsight, 2 stars might have been a bit harsh. I’ve just become very discerning when it comes to pubs lately. Perfectly decent pub, just not particularly notable.
J. T.
Food was great and ppl where nice. And since its close to the Palace, we seen some important ppl with lots of medals on their way to a garden party with the Queen. That was kind of exciting.
M. W.
I always visit the St George's tavern for a catch up with my friend from Edinburgh when he's down. Great atmosphere, good beer selection and food is always good too.
E. A.

J. S.
Great pub! Loved the atmosphere and drink selection. Grabbed dinner downstairs and the service was great as well.
J. T.
Average food and drinks, but extremely pricey. I would probably try my hand at some of the other local pubs next time I pass by.
e. b.
Sweet tavern, with a great interior, good service, food and drinks...
M. S.
A popular venue for drinks after work. Can get very crowded but that's typical for the area. It's a reliable pub that we visit fairly often.
J. F.
Nice neighborhood pub. Very good fish and chips. Nice selection of beers
S. D.
Good pub, used to go there almost every Friday! Close to Victoria station. Staff is very nice and the place get packed quite soon!
N. H.
Handily placed for Victoria Station. Menu looked good; our table could have done with a clean
J. H.
Nicholson's pub, which means on the plus side it has cheap Doombar (£2.80 a pint). On the downside though it's a pretty transient crowd of office workers, tourists (there are lots of "cheap" hotels in the area), and probably a few people just passing through Victoria station. The staff turnover seems pretty high too. All of that adds up to mean it's a bit lacking in character. I'd recommend heading into Belgravia if you're looking for a characterful pub.
j. m.
Nice pub great service but pricey but hey its London wetherspoons 5 minute walk away and £2 a pint cheaper
T. T.
Surprisingly good atmosphere, friendly staff and the food looked very good. I will definitely be visiting again.
J. W.
Traditional English pub. Comes with great selection of beers and ales, some snack, but that smell as well. Lots of space to sit
P. A.
Good, solid boozer. Always busy so quite tough to get a seat, but atmosphere is good, food isn't bad and MeanTime on tap.
P. R.
Pub and staff were excellent and the food was great .

A six for four deal too.
