Reviews of The Station Pub

Absolutely amazing roast dinners. Had the lamb and the beef. Had sticky toffee pudding for dessert. They made substitutions no problem.
Bar staff super helpful and attentive. Pedro got us a lovely table by the fire. Really accommodating, good service, great food.
There's an outdoor area, restaurant area, and bar areas. Great atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon or a saturday night. Lots of comfy couches etc.
Dog friendly, baby friendly, and some TVs with sport on. Right by the station (obviously)
5/5. Definitely worth checking out.

Went for a walk with my Wife ended up here. Nice large pub with outdoor seating. Love logging into the app ordering food, paying then getting it delivered to the table.
Went for the big breakfast, 2 bacons 1 sausage 2 eggs 2 hash browns and a slice of toast and beans. 11.00 pounds it was hearty and of a good quality.

Beautiful pub, delicious food and great service. It was not crowded either so we were delighted. Only criticism is the lack of vegan or vegetarian options for the main course for the Christmas dinner. Why always gnocchi? Just give us a roast dinner option like everyone else but with a nut roast or something instead of a not very christmassy meal....

Okish pub but it's the only pub in the area so it's always busy. In all fairness there's a good selection of beers and the general pub and toilets are pretty clean. Nice pub garden for the summer.
Good mix of customers, never any trouble. However some of the bar staff are pretty slow when serving and have trouble tracking who's next. The food is OK but most of the time I'll be sitting on the toilet for a half hour after. The kitchen can be slow, like today I waited 45 mins for sausage & mash. I miss the Dirty South pub.

A fantastic pub, getting it right! Great staff, good wine and beer and tasty food. I wish Youngs would buy the Baring Hall Hotel, Grove Park. Same set up by a station and just sitting there empty!

I've updated the original post. It's a journey as it shows the positive and the negative.
We went three times in the space of a week after lockdown two. The first trip my burger was a disappointment for the price, my second burger (Katsu chicken) from the Shack menu was not pleasant, the sauce needs some work.
My third burger was awesome, double station burger, it was on point, over priced but great. They need to research In/Out burgers on YouTube they could be great burger makers if they did a bit of research. Two other let downs were the the fish and chips, advertised was triple cooked chips what arrived was cheap french fries, that is not on. And the app needs to be sorted, half the menu items suddenly disappeared.
It's our local and we'll keep going, I will however call them on the failings once they're back on their feet. They need support not badgering.
So just visited again for Sunday lunch. Once app updated and a few missing items were added by the head of the floor we ordered and OMG was I delighted when my Sunday roast Chicken arrived. Chef knocked it out of the park. Beautiful. Each roast that paraded past our Table to other guests looked identically well built and presented. Absolutely back on form.
The shack is back up and running, burgers looked Immense.
Can't wait to return.
So been back a few times recently and it was stable, till Saturday night. The wheels came off completely. Worst meals in a while. Overrun kitchen, simple mistakes. Basically they either need a tougher hand in the kitchen or out front to curb Numbers.
The pub could be a cash cow but I'll stop going if they keep charging high prices for poor quality.

The starter was meant to be a red hummus dish, but it just tasted like puréed red pepper with no chick peas flavour. Also they served it with chunky toast rather than a softer pita like break. Didn't finish it. The main salmon was just ok, definitely not worth £19. Overall a very average Christmas Eve dinner. Look elsewhere for a better price to quality dining experience.

Lovely beer garden but there is a lot of shade in the afternoon and a fuss was made when we asked to switch to a table with sun, meanwhile another table were allowed to switch with no bother at all...
The menu is simple hearty fare, not many fish/seafood options but most dietary requirements are catered for with at least one option. If I ate cheese then more of the vegetarian options would have been suitable for me. I had fish and chips, the batter on the fish was crisp and light but they served it with skinny fries rather than chunky 'chippy' style chips which I would prefer. The tartare sauce was very delicious and that's coming from someone who hates mayonnaise. Prices are decent, pretty average Gastropub prices in this (sometimes) sunny corner of gentrified South East London.
