I tried the Christmas menu which was really good. I must say the food was on point and I finished it all! It may be a little pricy but given location, I suspect it’s in line. Lacked a little salt but overall I’d go there for the meal again and friendly staff.

I’ve been booking twice at The Sterling for my team to after work drinks. It’s been such an easy call to book there considering the team management, their wholesomeness and warm greetings I’ve been dealing with a lady named Selma who was a pleasure to meet and more than helpful during our party. Can’t recommend better bar. Thanks to the whole staff. Looking forward to bringing friends and my managing agents again

Went for Christmas lunch. Staff very friendly and managed our table of 10 well. Food arrived quickly and together. Small portions for each of the 3 courses. Sadly cannot give five stars for price of xmas menu and portion size. Location is perfect and good selection of drinks.

The sterling is located on the ground floor of the Gherkin which is an amazing place to be, especially at night! The staff was lovely and friendly.On top of that, prices are fair and the vibe is great! I highly recommend :)

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I went here for a work Christmas dinner. On arrival we got sat at a very small table even though it wasn’t busy. We got the Christmas menu and portion size was adequate. Cant say it’s the best food I’ve had but also wasn’t the worse. I would probably come here for drinks as we saw a couple of drinks table who seemed to be having the time of their lives.

The Sterling based on the ground floor of The Gherkin building is a trendy bar with two floors. The ground floor is a general public access bar which serves cocktails, beer, wine, spirits. They also serve food. Upstairs there is a much smaller space which can be used for private hire such as drinks and canapes reception. Canapes were good and staff lovely.

Had an amazing time for a birthday celebration there . We had a large group on the terrace and they manage to make a beautiful seating area due to covid restrictions. Thanks to Lorene and the lovely team for looking after us. Everything went smoothly until the end of the party. ( + food was very tasty )

Had THE BEST vegan cheeseburger here! I don’t know what the sauce was on it, it wasn’t spicy, but red, but it was so darn delicious! 3 of us had the same and, 2 had the halloumi wrap, one fish and chips and one chicken salad and everyone said how delicious their food was! And 4 of us had pudding and OMG! I had the brownie with pistachio ice cream and could have died! Love love loved the whole experience, thank you!

I attended this venue as a guest at a private party. The venue is great, the atmosphere was buzzing, good food and drinks, although a bit steep. It's a nice venue in an iconic location, but given it only covers the first 2 floors the views aren't great. The food and service were nothing special, and at times unfriendly - but there was nothing outstandingly negative. I was there for an event, and whilst the space was a bit different, it didn't work especially well for a big group. It's not got anything wrong with it, but I wouldn't recommend - especially for an event

Team drinks and nibbles at the Sterling. Service was friendly and quick. The food platters were delicious. Went down a treat. The veggie platter was great too. Quite a few of the team were doing a dry January so ordered mocktails which were just lovely.

Was a lovely christmas meal. the waiters were attentive and helpful. Plus they were friendly. The food tasted amazing and was well presented. I'd say that if you are eating there the music is a bit loud from the bar. but again the waiters couldn't do enough, so when I asked like an old lady to turn the music down, they turned the speaker off that was near our table. Would definately recommend.

The vegetarian option of the 3-Course-Christmas Dinner was incredibly amazing. The Nut Roast tasted very fine and was simply well-made. Staff is very polite, friendly, warm and welcoming. Everything is clean and super tidy, just like you would expect it. Thanks for making our Work Christmas Party so special!

Nice drinkery right in the heart of the square mile. Good range of beverages. Plenty of seating downstairs and a fairly spacious area upstairs for private functions in the evening. Good waiter service. Noce location under the famous Gerkin Landmark. Burgers are good and generous portions so you'll leave filling full and content. Easy access for disabled as well.

It's a bar that's really easy to find thanks to its location at the foot of the Gherkin. It serves good food (both bar snacks and restaurant) and the prices are pretty reasonable. It's a popular place and usually always busy so if you're going make sure you book. It does have a massive outside area, which is great in the summer.

lovely setting, always sunny at lunch time. such a shame that i never feel like going due to the infuriatingly slow bar service. even with hardly anyone at the bar it STILL manages to take over 10 minutes to get a pint. that's quite a significant proportion of lunchtime. i'm voting with my feet. perhaps if people left similar reviews it might spur them into hiring more bar staff, they can certainly afford it at £5 a pint.

The Sterling can get very busy in the summer as it has a glorious, expansive outside area with lots of seating, and a long wall people use as a table and/or seating area. However, inside, it gets very noisy and loud. The music is turned up too much for a place like that and makes conversation difficult. The food is better than standard pub fair, but not brilliant. An OK place, but nothing to write home about.

Slow m service - we ordered a shared cocktail (in a carafe) comprising of prosecco and strawberries - waited a while for that and it was mostly ice as less than half a bottle was actually used! Luckily it was pre-dinner so something too strong would have been disastrous! The bar guy also took awhile getting us the right flutes to drink it with. But he got us the best flutes so can't complain. Not busy at all on Tue after work - loads of outdoor seating available. Friendly wait staff outside though. Not as pretentious as I thought it would be. Yeah would prob go back.
