I went here when I was absolutely starving, the barman was extremely welcoming and I ordered a really nice Guinness. But the food was out of this world, I ordered the Ale and Steak pie with mash, the shortcrust pastry was probably one of the finest I've tasted for a pie, you could really taste the buttery smoothness of it, lovely mash and gravy as well, I will definitely come here again!

I've looked passes pub so many times in my past, so finally I have gone in let's have a quick drink. It's cozy and seems like a nice vibe. Have to try that food in the future as they have her award-winning steak and ale pie.

My friend and I had lunch in the Sun in Splendour. We had a table reserved inside but we preferred to stay outside in the little hidden garden, and they had no problem giving us a table there, thank you:) We were served by three different team members during our stay, they were all very kind, efficient and helpful. My friend had chicken roast, she thoroughly enjoyed it, was very satisfied with the big portion and great taste. I had fish and chips, which was also perfectly made and very tasty. The chef had no problem changing my chips to fries and the flavour of the ice cream on my brownie (also delicious). The pub was ventilated properly inside, we felt safe, also both inside and outside looked very clean, tidy and welcoming. Thank you for the great service, delicious food and overall very pleasant stay.

This little gem has fast become my new favourite local. Great food and the staff are so welcoming and hospitable. Went to this wonderful pub recently with three other members of my family and an American visiting us, I had been to it some years ago and thought it was brilliant, good atmosphere, lively, friendly and served proper food, the crusty pie, mash, mushy peas & gravy is to die for!! We all enjoyed it so much & we will be coming down from Derbyshire again soon, our American visitor referred to this magnificent place as England at its best!!

Everyone very pleasant, seems mid way between table service and bar service pub/restaurant. Seemed slightly odd but my last time in there was a fee years ago and it was definitely a pub. Still very nice and nice and bright with those massive windows.

This is a spectacular establishment; whether London local or ambling tourist this haven situated at the start of the Portobello Road, and within short walking distance from Notting Hill Gate and Hyde Park, offers friendly staff, a wide range of beers and hearty pub grub...all in a cozy familiar feeling environment (think "Cheers" meets "How I met your mother"). I've spent many an hour in here and can't recommend highly enough!

Very cosy pub! The food was great and the portions were generous. Indoor seating is quite limited but they do have a balcony. Because the indoor seating is limited, it was very loud. They are missing real French mustard and mint sauce; they only had American and English mustard, and mint jelly. Add these and it will be a winning pub!

Such a fantastic nice little pub in an attractive part of London. I went with 3 other friends for a Sunday roast. The food was incredible and the service was friendly and punctual. The staff managed the COVID restrictions very well which made it easy and took away any stress if not know where to sit and where to go. We stay in the back where there is a secret garden and we’re waiting on by the staff. I would highly recommend to anyone that fancies good food and a pleasant drink.

A good pub to have your drinks if you can manage the strange smell that's in this place. It's musty...probably due to lack of ventilation inside the pub. Service is good and prompt. Food is also good for the price you pay, pork belly recommended. Choice of drinks is also quite good. It has a quaint outside garden, could do with some heating though. Apart from the musty smell, it's a decent place to have after work drinks or meet friends for an evening!

Amazing range of music from the 50s to 90s selected by the staff. You'll leave in a good mood without knowing why. My husband and I didn't want to leave! The food was also very good- a good range of vegetarian options. This has to be the best pub in Notting Hill for staff friendliness, atmosphere and food.

Randomly stopped in here after visiting Portobello Road and we were very pleasantly surprised. I had risotto and my wife had fish and chips and the food was very good. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere and decor were very nice. As it happened we arrived at the perfect time to get a table and be served, but I would definitely recommend getting there early as it's quite a small place and things filled up very quickly. Once it was full things did seem a little chaotic but we were well situated by that point so it didn't affect us (it was a Saturday).

Have only been here for drinks several times. Very cool staff, good beer selection, wines not so much ;) (Edit: we only had the house wine and did not try the renewed selection, so definitely worth to give this a shot) the pub is nice and you can stand in front of the pub and enjoy your drinks there. The secret beer garden is a nice to have but not outstanding due to lack of sunlight. I wkuld prefer sitting in the cool pub or as mentioned above in the streets. Well, I suspect most people don't go to pub for warm drinks anyway and it shouldn't matter. Overall, a busy good pub to spend an hour or two, with pals, eat something and get going.

I went particularly for the good reviews about the fish and chips. The decor was nice, and the service was really good, but the food was very mediocre. The chips looked and tasted like oven chips, and the fish was like your standard chip shop. I had a nice enough time, I wouldn't have felt disappointed elsewhere, but with the price tag and good reviews it was a bit of a let down.

I didn't want to go in when we first passed by the cafe, but the hungry stomach and curiosity about the name brought me back here for breakfast. It could get quite busy especially on market days, but if you manage to get a table by the window or in the garden on warmer days, it will be very pleasant being surrounded by sunshine, sunflowers and everything wooden. Service was a bit slow due to the crowd and there was a curious lack of teaspoon at the time. But it was made up for by the delicious traditional breakfast and cheesy poached eggs/bacon combo that followed. Coffee was good and the brunch menu was reasonably priced, especially given the popularity. 5 stars for the memorable bruncherience.

This is my favorite spot in Notting Hill! Whether you're in the mood for a pitcher of Pimm's on a warm summer afternoon or need a great way to fortify yourself before hitting the Portebello Road Market, this is the place for you. They have a lovely garden in the back for those warm summer day, but the interior is spacious with a variety of tables for those days when you just want to warm up with a pint. I always make a point to stop in while I'm in town and they never disappoint!
