Well this is a nice change, after a refit and change over. We have ourselves a nice local pub at the far end of the streatham pub crawl. (Start from brixton hill, and end at the vale) Gone are the poor toilets and odd fixtures, fittings etc. They now have a decent selection on tap and bottled, with several london breweries as well. The home made chips are a personal favourite, and the fact they now serve food is welcome. Plus they show most sports and are happy for families and private bookings. What more do you need!

Friendly, warm atmosphere, lovey staff. Ate from the new menu twice this week great food generous portions, good value for money. Had my first Sunday roast today and it was amazing. Was nice to see the vale full with families and friends. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful traditional pub with friendly staff and a warm atmosphere. The food is amazing, had a roast dinner last weekend which was delicious and a steak today which I barely needed a knife to cut because it was so tender. I highly recommend this pub!

This pub is situated at the end of my mother’s road, we visited before it had a refurb and wasn’t to impressed, it had an old mans pub feel about it and did not offer any food. My wife and I had visited my mother and seen the pub had re opened and decided to give it another go, impressed is an understatement. The new look is amazing, the bright vibrant colours, the modern seating style and the addition of food are but a few major improvements this pub has gained. We decided to eat while here and were mightily impressed by the price and quality of the food. We both had burgers ( my wife had the vegetarian option) and could not fault either, the “homemade 1/2 pounder” is truly homemade and is reflected in the taste. The vale also offers a full range of drinks and boasts some amazing staff, My wife and I would like to thank Stephanie for her amazing banter while we were there. 5 stars
