C. W.It was such a beautiful place and the history behind it, is amazing the bar staff was so lovely and let us downstairs to look at the jail cells I definitely recommend going here I I will definitely be back :)

L. C.A beautiful old pub with lots of brilliant cut and gilded glass from the 1930's. Great toasted sandwiches and a huge selection of gin. Helpful and friendly bar staff doing very well to manage some overly loud and obnoxious customers sadly present on my most recent visit.
D. S.Small, single room Victorian pub, directly opposite the Old Bailey; hence its former occupancy, forming part of Newgate Prison.
Corner location and attractive curved front profile. Lots of natural light inside; enhanced by wall frescos, a high ceiling and ornate up-lighters.
Fuller’s beers, craft ales and plenty of other drink options. Also one of the best gin selections I’ve ever seen - it was also formally a Gin Palace!
The food options are fairly simple but still good. Friendly staff. All-in-all, definitely worth five stars.
l.Nice historic pub with great selection of beers and ales. They do gin and tonics in balloon glass and they have a huge selection of gins, very tasty done! Staff are not very friendly though but quick and fast service is provided.

L.Today is my first time visiting and we came in because we saw it was a Fullers and I adore ale from Fullers (especially Daydreamer!) Beautiful interior, well lit, very friendly staff, tasty pint of Daydreamer. I’ll definitely be coming back!

P.A pub search of the new neighborhood led to a visit - terrific Victorian cut glass; pre-Raphaelite style paintings; stories of an American & a firearm (go figure) during WW1 victory celebrations resulting in holes in said pre-Raphaelite style paintings - that exceeded expectations. It got better.
Saffron assured us the gin tastings were an experience; Fuller's ales the preferred drink, we decided we couldn't go wrong and made a booking for the following weekend.
She and Liam made a very nice end-of-week pub trip outstanding. The gin tasting was worth the visit alone - diverse, interesting and exotic flavors and combinations we never would have considered - and a wander through the cellar for stories of Newgate prison cells provided a unique finish.
A quintessential gin palace with warm, welcoming staff, excellent booze, Fuller's ales and pre-Raphaelite details - this place is great. (Hopefully the Doughboys apologized.)

❤️ Located just a stones throw from the Old Bailey is the absolutely stunning Viaduct Tavern. This boozer was high on my must visit list so I decided to pop in and check it out. The pub was quite on this Tuesday afternoon but this wasn’t a bad thing as I could admire it’s beauty and have a nose around. The atmosphere was laid back with a couple of groups having a drink and a chat. I had a pint and a toasty with a few chips which was really enjoyable and really hit the spot. Hopefully you never have to visit the Old Bailey but if your in this part of town you have to visit The Viaduct Tavern.
