Reviews of The Wickham Arms
I. B.
Good pub. Friendly young lady behind the bar, good selection of beers at reasonable prices (for London!). Plenty of seats, big screen sports - what's not to like?
D. J.
Cute hidden gem, with friendly staff and nice decor.
Would like them to have more alcohol free beer choices that are out there, rather than just the Heineken 0.0 they provide.
L. K.
Nice pub and bigger than you'd think! Nice selection of beers, including some very local ones, and plenty of seats.
G. H.
Probably one of the best roasts I’ve had in a long time!!! I booked a last min table for 11 of us which they accommodated with no fuss and the roast was amazing literally all of it was full of flavour and absolutely delicious. We do a lot of roasts in south east london this one is definitely one of the best. All I would say is no puddings so add that on next time please. 10/10 thanks for having us!

One of the Best local pubs around, top pints, amazing staff and food is always delicious…. Pool table and live sport too… can’t ask for more !!!
D. T.
Ok local pub but it needs some updating. Not the first choice in the area for me. Perhaps on a sunny summer day you can sit outside and get better.
A. C.
The place has been renovated and its now spacious and comfortable, lovely beer garden out the back,
Go try it.
G. D.
Amazing place where you feel welcome straight away due to an extraordinary customer service. Another thing to highlight is the amazing prices, definitely I will be a regular customer and I strongly recommend a visit.
A. L.
Nice pub, much cheaper than any of the other pubs in the area, you can get a pint of Fosters for £3.80! Lots of TV screens so you can watch almost every channel on Sky at the same time. The stools have metal legs and have a nice quality feel.
H. F.
Awesome venue for a small festival.
M. W.
My favourite pub. Love it. Great beer and great atmosphere. Ten from me
N. G.
From the outside it looks nice, and probably is on a sunny day. Inside it feels like it’s awaiting an update.
The drinks are average, mostly the usual lagers but a few draughty from Brockley Brewery but nothing special.
The interior is pretty dark with some tired red chesterfield sofas and stools. It just feels like it could easily be re-arranged to a more spacious layout with more places to sit.
J. T.
This is a real pub not a restaurant where you can get a drink .Great beer.
M. C.
The food is great and the Guinness is as well and the staff are friendly but it’s not a place I would sit for an evening due to the constant noise of Television and music all being played at the one time. You can’t hear yourself or hold a conversation. Apart from that it would be a perfect pub.
J.
One of the oldest pubs in Brockley recently refurbished. A great place to stop or start your walk into the past.
The rear of which was the Brockley Arms Livery Stables in the 19th Century.
After a quiet pint in this convivial pub, ramblers begin their journey through Ashby Mews and can see part of its history.
Though be warned, recent property newcomers are challenging walkers claiming it is a private road.
It isn't.. It's what is termed an unadopted back lane, one of many across Lewisham. Part of a protected public-right-of-way through the green Mews chain connecting Brockley with its ancient past and the old pub.
A great 5-star walk, after a few pints in a 3-star pub, through history. Do it
S. L.
Great staff. Great Guinness. Always have the football on. Perfect!!
J. S.
Visited many times over 30 years it's a nice pub now to drop into with friends. 👍

Went to this pub for a birthday celebration and was pleasantly surprised!! Great outside space , great inside space quite large compared to how the outside looks . Great service by staff , overall a great experience.
A. T.
Absolutely love this place, it's a good old-fashioned neighborhood pub with well-kept cask ales and friendly staff. They've done up the beer garden and patio so there's lots of outdoor space. It's dog-friendly as well!
N. W.
Accidentally stumbled apon this great little pub whilst walking around the backstreets of after lockdown and luckily managed to get a seat outside due to their expansive outside space. It took a little while to get served as they're going from table to table but they had a decent enough selection of cask and keg ales on tap including a few local Brockley Brewery ones and Brixton and Beavertown kegs. As people have mentioned too, the prices are decent. I will be back for another pint soon.

Nailing the old pub vibe here. Staff are covid compliant and have their table service game down well. Beer is also good, those ales and that guinnes are outstanding. Loads of outside space. A rare treat.
H. F.
Awesome venue for a small festival.

Great staff. Great Guinness. Always have the football on. Perfect!!

Wet both my babies heads here. Great bands, great community feel. Friendly staff and a well deserved make over without losing its character and charm. Can't wait for it to reopen. ÷)

Popped in here a few times while passing. Lovely big bar, nice beer garden front and back. Very friendly staff. Always made welcome. Beer good and not rinse the bank account..... Will definitely call again....
H. R.
Decent pub. Nothing to go out of your way for but serves a decent pint for reasonable price if you're in the area. Good for watching sports
R. P.
Lovely food and a great pub
B. F.
Nicely decorated clean pub. The grub was good aswell. Had a lovely time.

I occasionally had a drink here years ago, and prior to that they had traditional music sessions, it being a noted locals' pub. So as a trip down memory lane, I called in recently, early on a Saturday evening, but stayed only for a half. It wasn't very busy, the only other drinkers being a handful of loud, swear-y, tattooed, football-esque geezers. Not really my types, hence only the half pint. The decor didn't appear to have changed in the decade interim since my last visit, and so appeared rather tatty. That said, the young woman behind the bar was welcoming enough, and for that reason alone I give it 3 stars, because the rest of the experience was somewhat disappointing.

Lovely service! Great price! Nice outside space! Best pub in SE!
A. M.
Last proper pub in Brockley. Some regulars could do with a barring for swearing at their kids ( who shouldn't be in the place anyway). Music on Saturday night and outside seating available. Worth a visit
