Reviews of The Wild Card Brewery Barrel Store
J. B.
Great tucked away venue, perfect for Saturday lunch. Honestly I had the nicest pizza I ever tasted there today, wild mushroom with garlic oil. Soooo good! Great beers and a rather good apple cider.
S. T. G.
Great drinks, and a good space to hang out, I like the setting a lot. Over all it's good. It closes a bit to early due to licencing, which is a shame especially since it has a lot of out door space. The staff aren't bad they just aren't great. It feels like somewhere you'd expect quite animated engaging staff and neighbouring venues have this. Maybe a lack of experience between them. I still 5 star it cause I frequent it often enough and have had some really good times there.
M. O.
No idea why the reviews are this good. Really grumpy service from the person at the bar, very small selection of beers, and if you deign to buy a can you're told it's for take away only so you have to leave.
Shame, because the canned beer selection is really rather good.
P. H.
Rough and ready tap room for Wild Card Brewery with a projector that they had going for the six nations.
Beers are great if you like tasty beers.
4 stars because it was pretty cold in there (but not unbearable) and they could have a better selection of snacks.
Y. X.
Good beers, but the pizza was the thinnest I have ever had. Really, it was tomato sauce on paper at 7.50GBP..................their neighbor has much more normal pizza.
R. O.
I've been here a few times now and it's always been a fantastic atmosphere. Great easy drinking beer, the lager is an absolute delight, and awesome pizzas that are a great accompaniment. Would recommend to anyone who is passing through or even to make a special journey!
M. M.
Great staff, great drinks, great space, great pizza. I even pet a dog while I was here. What’s not to love??
R. P.
Absolute gem of a place, really nice selection atmosphere with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Great selection of drinks and Tayto's to eat
N. H.
Great little micro brewery tucked away in Walthamstow. They have a great selection of their own brewed beer. In particular the IPAs are of particular great quality. There isn't much seating inside but its strength is in its outside area which sat in the middle of an industrial estate gives it great character
S.
Amazing beer, pizzas and atmosphere, highly recommended if you’re in the area. Gods Own Junkyard opposite too, well worth a look.
P. H.
Amazing beer. great Service Delicious pizza...what more could you ask for! Have spent many happy hours here. In the winter they show the rugby and in the summer you can sit on a bench in the sun and enjoy a delicious pint of really special craft ale.
O. R.
Beautiful beer, slow service and poor follow up on missing beers. Has the potential to be great if they can solve delivering beer quicker to the tables on a sunny weekend 👌
M. G.
It's a brewery, so there's beer. Was there for a music and visuals night which was awesome. Staff are very friendly, kind and willing to help (spillage!) and will recommend beers based on your preference.
S. P.
Good beers, with lots of variety. I drink the fruit sours and my partner has IPA. The brewery has lots of room inside and outside, so good for social distancing. It serves pizza some evenings.
D. S.
Good selection of beer. Still sticking to the lickdown method of ordering via an app. Lots of outside seating.
a. m.
Pretty typical brewery experience in an industrial estate. Beer is pretty good, pizza is worth it if you're hungry, lots of tables outside which is handy atm!
R. S.
It's a great vibe for outdoor drinking and the service was good. The beer is, of course, excellent! Google pay is an advantage when ordering online.
D. O.
Great place with nice fresh beer, cool area with other breweries etc around.
J. D.
Nice place to sit and have a drink and a pizza. Bit expensive. But nice atmosphere
L. _.
Ordered pizzas at 8.05pm and took an hour and a half to arrive - at half capacity so how long can 5 pizzas at <12" take to make.
Pizzas were good (in the end) but visit at quieter times. We were given complimentary beers at the end for the wait which was a very kind gesture and was much appreciated.
S. J.
This place is a hidden treasure. Located in amongst warehouses and builders yards with plenty of outside seating. Sampled the IPA and wasn't disappointed with this one. A refreshing drink to quench the thirst after a long walk on a hot summer afternoon.
C. B.
Great tap room with lots of outdoor seating. Quick service and nice pizzas. What more can you ask for!
L. M.
really nice vibe on a sunny day. loads of good craft beer. there peach ipa was delicious as well as their bottle of sharing stout. lots of other nice bars and food venues right beside it makes it a festive summer feel.
S. O.
Really good service and loads of changes to accommodate distancing.
Good selection on beer and decent cider all in house. Very chilled environment and decent music in the background. Not too imposing. Not the cheapest but didn't feel ripped off either.
Would recommend
J. C.
Great range of special and collaboration brews to go with one of the nicest core ranges around.
Add free delivery locally or nationally with great customer service... what more could you ask for?
A. R.
We were let down with a cancelled tour at a nearby brewery so popped into Wild Card instead - so glad we did! Taproom staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and accomodating.
They let us try all of the beers on tap and discussed the brewing process with us as well as a history of the brewery.
Great beer and really friendly staff! Will definitely return!
M. D.
Great variety of beers and very friendly staff! They have yummy pizzas as well if you're feeling peckish. Really cool atmosphere, go see it yourself!
G. M.
Great little place for a beer. Its small and compact which will get the atmosphere going with live music and dj nights. The selection if craft beer is even more surprising considering the size of the brewery. But i know they are moving to a bigger site now so its understandable.
E. S.
A fair range of good beer in an interesting location, and there's nearly always street food of one kind or another set up outside. They host regular beer festivals which are probably the best time to pop through if you're coming from any real distance.
Be warned, seating is a luxury on weekends and I've known them get busy enough that they even run out of good spots sitting on the tarmac as the licensed forecourt isn't that big! Music is only played indoors too, and outside can be a bit quiet in that respect. Still good fun though.
My only real criticism is that they haven't expanded their core range in a while and it does get old drinking the same usual suspects - most of the other breweries around here put out a load of new stuff each year.
I. L.
Great selection of ales, friendly service. Dog friendly
J. B.
Great little industrial unit brewery taproom serving up the latest beers produced by this local business, plus a range of others. Often has evening events (DJs, bands etc), as well as hosting guided tasting sessions and similar. Always very friendly welcome from knowledgeable staff. Solid, dependable weekend afternoon drinking spot.
t. c.
An atmosphere I think more places should have. Comfortable + Relaxed... I loved it.💜
M. J.
The bar service is slow just because it's fairly small for the size of the drinking space. Beer necessary outside and it's a fun environment on a sunny afternoon. Open mic nights happen on a semi regular basis with some great local talent.
A. G.
A lovely place. Odd to go to a brewery in an industrial estate, but it's very nice. You can either sit outside on a bunch of picnic tables — right next to the delicious Chips With Dips that is there at the weekend — or inside, in a cosy sort-of industrial setting, right next to the brewery. An often-changing selection of always nice beers (some soft drinks, though they could be more interesting and slightly cheaper) and very nice people. Definitely worth a visit!
T. M.
A little rough and ready but the beers on offer more than make up for this. Wild card brewery India Pale Ale is in another league! 6%ABV and tasting like a session beer which belies its strength. My legs could tell it was 6% as we got up to leave!!!
B. C.
Really nice spot. Bit hard to find if you don't know where you're going but they've got a good range of house and guest beers. There's also a couple of other brewery and gin places bunched together I'm the same place, so plenty of choice.
d. b.
A big shed where they brew and sell beer. Simple, friendly and fun place. Everyone sits outside in the summer and around their wood burning stove in the winter. Good selection of their own beers plus some of the competition (Hackney Brewery for example). The Wild Card pales are pretty good- complex flavours without overkill alcohol levels. Street food stalls outside, and occasional bands/djs. This was the place that began the transformation of Ravenswood from industrial estate to leisure strip, so I think they deserve a star or two for that.
C. S.
It is an an open area in walthamstow full of tables to relax and hace a good time with friends. The brewery offer a variety of beers and cider really tasty and for a reasonable price. Besides they offer a wide range of pizzas.
N. F.
A great place, with good beer and knowledgeable staff who can advise you on the beers that they sell
Some are brewed on the premises, and others by local brewers, so everything is made locally. Only open weekends, this is a great place to visit at any time of the year, but summer is best. Tables are laid out in the car park which is usually quiet, and with no through traffic, it's a nice place to while away a sunny afternoon.
Located near the heart of Walthamstow village, it is a good base to explore one of the happening places in London, and the nearby neon museum called God's Own Junkyard is not to be missed. The controversial mini-Holland project is all around, so get a tube to Walthamstow Central and climb the hill to this place to watch history in the making
C. T.
Cool spot with some descent beers. Only open a few days of the weekend. Cool spot in the neighbourhood.
L. O.
Brilliant beers and such a good atmosphere. Highly recommended. Only slightly let down by long queues on weekends. Everyone spills outside where there's plenty of space, so no issue with getting a good spot.
R. M.
Really enjoyed the beers, the live music and the laid back feel of the place. It's hidden in E17 in a business estate, amazingly close to Walthamstow Village. There's a van parked right outside selling street food. The day we went it was chips and dips and burgers. Brilliant idea with plenty of outside space. It's next to God's Own JunkYard. Nice service, but just one loo for everyone...bear that in mind...children and dogs are welcome.
H. G.
A great evening! 16 of us headed to Wildcard for their Brewery Tour and Tasting - Andrew and William were incredibly accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable and passionate. Everyone had a great night, helped a long with some excellent beer, interesting food pairings and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you!
R. M.
Off the beaten track this small craft brewery is one of the hidden gems of Walthamstow.
They have a fantastic range of hand crafted beers that exceed my expectations.
Definitely somewhere I recommend to visit.
P. M.
Fantastic brewery with great guest selection and outdoor seating that is worth the journey in the summer. The fact that it is directly next to God's Own Junkyard makes the visit even more practical and worthwhile.
A. B.
Really good beers and chilled out atmosphere. The djs and dance music doesn't always fit the relaxed vibe, but the everything else makes up for it.
The pizza tent outside is delicious, and a trip to wildcard would be incomplete without a stop in God's own junkyard!
a. v. d. e.
Wild Card is a welcome addition to London's local breweries. It's a great place to visit on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, sit on the outdoor benches, drink one of their lovely ales (I'm a fan of the Queen of Diamonds) and eat from one of the food pop ups parked outside. When the sun shines there's a bit of a festival vibe as there's starting to be a few other places on the industrial estate to visit too. Inside is nothing fancy, just some wooden tables and chairs, a bar and the actual brewery.
M. W.
Our local bar in an industrial estate... Yes really, but probably one of the trendiest industrial estates in London. Home to Wild Card Brewery, Mothers Ruin (a gin based cocktail bar) and God's Own Junkyard, which is soon to open is own bar also. Yes an industrial estate in which you can have a mini pub crawl! WCB is the pick of the bunch, great beer at very reasonable prices, knowledgeable staff and a great vibe, especially during summer - if you are visiting London, just go!
M. G. (.
Great beer and a great place to hang out with friends. Food pop ups help to soak up the booze. Visit God's Own Junkyard before you have a pint!
J. M.
Beer is hit or miss but it is a very cool place to be at the weekends if the weather is nice. Also nearby is the Pillars Brewery (for hoppy lagers), God's Own Junkyard and Mother's Ruin. There will also often be a food stall or two in the area for a good meal. Beware of prams! This place is full of children most of the time.
S. T.
Good selection of not only their own beers, but also of other local breweries within London. Great atmosphere and recommend to all craft beer lovers out there.
J. M.
Great for outdoor pandemic beers! Gets busy around 3 on the weekend so watch out.
P. V.
Nice brewery. Cheaper than usual pints elsewhere (roughly £4). Great selection of brews too. Mothers ruin gin distillery next door is great as well.
H. E.
An unexpected find in Walthamstow, visited God's Own Junkyard which is next door and seen this place and thought we'd pop in here for a sly pint. Three hours later, and a few more ales sunk, we were still there. Good selection of ales and cider, friendly atmosphere and a good mix of patrons. Next time in London I'll make a point of heading out to Walthamstow to visit this establishment again.
l. b.
Always good for a beer and some music, shame about all the children!
M. W.
My first brewery visit......very good. Thanks guys!
R. R.
Always have a good time in the Wild Card! It's a very basic warehouse style tap room, but there's a cosy fire in Winter and outdoor space in Summer.
Oh, and the beer is good!
D. K.
Great little place - seemed dark and empty when I arrived, but the fairy lights, projectors and great beer soon convinced me. Well worth a visit, but the selection of cask and bottled beers was what really makes it something special
J. P.
Very good atmosphere and friendly staff.
I would deffinatly recomend to anyone that enjoys a nice drink and good music, they have there own brew lager and ale and also sell gift box's that i highly recommend. I will deffinatly be revisiting very soon.
J.
Somewhat hidden away in Walthamstow. Great bar, great beer, good-looking food available. Loads of outside seating if the sun is out. It's basically just a warehouse with a car park, but I want complaining!
B. V.
Lovely outdoors space with delicious craft beer and local beverages. Harley dogs on site makes fantastic burgers and hotdogs with home made patties and sausages.
J. F. a. T. C. S.
Excellent range of ales, beers including two gluten free options. Fantastic music on Sunday afternoons from She17 promoting women in music.
M.
I've heard it's the place to be, so I thought I'd pay a visit....oh I love that Queen of Diamonds, that's my favourite and there are a range of ales to suit everyone's taste. The place has a nice, relaxed atmosphere too....my type of place. It's cool.
P. S.
A lovely local brewery, just around the corner from Walthamstow village - they only have two brews of their own but you can sample lots of other local London beer in their on-site bar.
D. H.
Good taproom with some interesting beers. Was a bit disappointed the person behind the bar didn't seem to have much beer knowledge to help with suggestions.
C. L.
Good outdoor space but we arrive after 9 and all the pizza was sold out!! Sad times! On a plus note they had Tayto crisps 👌
M. K.
Good but needs work, I actually prefer Pillar next door, bit of a better vibe. Beer is really quite hit and miss too - more hit than miss but even so.
M. M.
Although it is difficult to find, it is well worth the effort searching out the Wild Card Brewery, the beer is fantastic and the atmosphere very friendly. If the Pizza is being cooked they are well worth trying too.
D. L.
This place is a bit of a hidden gem. It has quite a few locally brewed real ales to drink and it has a fantastic line up of live music on a regular basis as well as pop up eateries . I highly recommend it
G. B.
Amazing beer, great service. Always good to stop in after 80 or 90 miles riding with the HMCC
T. P.
Not the largest range of beer or cider but a cute little veue and they host live music days. Friendly staff too.
J. C.
Great venue with plenty of space.
L. H.
Cracking atmosphere and beer! Occasionally slow bar service at peak times due to the size of the bar.
Highly recommend the Jack Ruby, very nice beer.
N. L. M.
Nice place to sit out and have a beer in the Sun. Nice pizza menu, very interesting beer selection, recommended for a chilled afternoon.
S. M.
Bare bones beer shed with outside trestle tables. Great beers from lovely and tasty local microbrewery, A hip Walthamstow open secret.
M. C.
Wildcard is the best place to visit in Walthamstow for a craft beer. Beers on tap usually fetch £3.30, some bottles can be a little more expensive.
Best suited to a balmy Sunday spring afternoon!
D. K.
Great place to relax in. Good choice of craft beers which change regularly. Busy on a Friday with live music, quieter on a Thursday.
O. P.
Great locally brewed beer, friendly staff, warped balearic beats in the background courtesy of Eastern Front DJs (shoutout), food stand in the evening,l: this is the best spot in the village
A. D.
Fantastic and friendly. The beers were great but the atmosphere was the highlight friendly crowd and staff definitely a highpoint in this and future London trips
M. N.
If you like low fuss brewery based bars, then you'll love this place. Not huge amounts of indoor area, so one to save for summer.
M. B.
Simple but effective! Lovely beers, plenty of space, pleasant staff, great prices. Easy recommendation :)
B. S.
Great beer, friendly staff. No food available but told I could order anything from local restaurants and eat at the tap room, very accommodating!
G. M.
Great pizza, simple and welcoming atmosphere.
A. J.
Great place. Good beers, friendly staff, not so busy that it takes hours to get served. Gin palace next door.
M. “. O. K.
Nice little hipster brewery serving up some good brews. it's very much a no frills affair, not that the prices reflect that but hey, it's hipsterville so what do you expect?
J. R.
One of our favourite haunts in Walthamstow, love their beers, live concerts and outdoor space on a sunny day.
P. M.
Great beer brewing bar, really worthwhile when the weather is good as there is plenty of outdoor seating.
M. B.
Very nice vibe, very authentic, nothing like the super artificial places you get nowadays in Shoreditch. Friendly people, good beer.
B. L.
Great chilled out area to enjoy a pint or see God's Own Junkyard. Away from the main road.
C. W.
A hidden gem in Walthamstow Village. Tasty beer, often with a food stall open, and would've thought that a standard industrial estate car park could be cool and calm?? :)
M. C.
Love this bar. On Sundays the pizzas are really good and priced really well too. I imagine it to be better in summer than winter as it's outdoors
J. C.
Lovely bar with a fantastic selection of beers. Interesting music and good people. Highly recommended.
B. G.
Great service and helpful staff. Awesome beer brewed where its served and lovely pizza to soak it all up.
J. L.
Great beer, food and service. Good outside seating.
D. M.
It's a brewery that sells beer and plays music. Oh and sometimes they serve delicious food. It can only be 5 stars really.
A. B.
Second visit and still love the beer and cider
B.
I'm very much a fan of Wild Card's brews, and their tap room is a great place to find yourself on a Saturday night
R. P.
Great place to hang out and drinks beers - especially in the summer sunshine
J. C.
Great beers brewed and served by great people
E. s.
Another one of the three taprooms here and arguably a smidge better than Pillars as bigger variety of drinks available and TAYTO crisps!
A. G.

L. B.
Great place, casual, spacious outdoor area, great beers and yummy pizzas :)
S. D.

C. J.
Great place to chill out as it is really nice and relaxed. Very good atmosphere. Can get cramped inside on a Friday night.
S. L.
Mate the tunes in here tonight are 🔥🔥🔥
The beer is also mighty fine. A cheeky one in the balmy E17 evening is highly recommended
S. M.
Superb selection of beers, friendly staff and a big screen for the rugby. Top work Wild Card.
A. G.
Very friendly brewery, great beer and prices, hidden away but worth a visit
M. P.
A little out the way, but well worth the trip. It is less of a place to pop for one drink, more of a place to spend an entire afternoon/evening!
J. J.
Great for summer drinks, most people come and sit outside. Great selection of beer.
D. B.
Waited about half an hour for a pizza here. That's my main memory. But other than that it felt like having a drink in some ones garage
R. A.
Great little brewery/taproom with friendly staff and a great atmosphere... unfortunately the beer isn't great.
C. T.
Had the beer a few times then went to the brewery...off da hook! loved it, great vibe..
A. B.
Great, fresh beer, just a bit drafty and basic as a location.
L. H.
Lovely Indian pale ales and other beers. Great crowd. Good music.
T. B. K.
Nice beers. Friendly staff. Good outside seating area. Take cards
J. D.

C. B.
Friendly staff, good atmosphere and a great choice of drinks. will come back again!
A. M.
Safe space for music and locally crafted beer with talent of all genders visible and supported.
J. H.
Lovely little brewery. Can order pizza to be delivered here too!
M.
Excellent spot tucked away - great service and atmosphere to match
P. C.
Not really an active brewery. More of a shanty pub, a barn dance without the dance, or draught pales.
H. C.
Casual drinking spot amongst the beer vats and kegs. Outdoor on a sunny afternoon is perfect!
S. G.
I haven't eaten here, but had a few beers ,gets quite busy when the sun shines .
C. C.
Hard to find, but well worth it. Good original beers and good DJ sets. Shame there's no food.
b. b.
Every time I come here they seem to run out of beer which is probably not a coincidence.
C. M.
Overcrowded and hard to socially distance. No attempt and collecting contact details in case of a covid outbreak
m. w.
A bit tricky to find but worth the effort. Interesting small music venue, relaxed friendly vibe
R. A.
Great beer. Kid friendly until 8pm. Great knowledgeable staff.
B. v. G.
Had a great beer + food matching tour from Chris. Very good technical details and good beers.
D. D.
Outdoor bar with occasional meat fest, in the middle of an industrial estate next to a neon manufacturer and a gin den. You'd never have to leave, really.
V. H.
We had a great night. Met new lovely people. Loved the bear and sweet potato crisp. 😀
N. S.
Outdoor and indoor space, good range of beers, good pizza.

(Translated) Discovered by chance and a real insider tip. Just like the Pillar Brewery next door, very straightforward. Actually what German beer drinkers want. In addition to various IPAs, there are a few considerations on the card: a Black Kölsch for example!
