Great food. Good selection of meat and fish. We had the Salt and pepper squid to share as a starter. Then the roasted hake and the lamb and rosemary pie as mains. Everything was really tasty. Good portions. Interesting selection of beers. Beer garden at the back nicely decorated. Friendly staff.

We attended Oyster festival last Friday and had a fantastic evening. Great food, spacious pub, live opera was a nice touch. All staff with great personality and attitude. Little gem in the heart of Battersea, less than one minute walking from the square. Amazing food and real Ale. Scotch eggs are to die for, not to mention the speacials of the night (fish Friday) scallops and monkfish tail 🤩🤩🤩. Have a look at the burger by yourself, big, juicy and perfectly cooked. They serve fresh oysters. I think I may have found my new local pub. Staff is very professional and they really look after you without being indiscreet or intrusive. Definitely it needs to be visited again.

Last couple of meals here have been excellent. Lemon sole and trout last night were both well executed and delicious as were the desserts. Was also here for a veggie Sunday roast a few weeks back and it was great. Have been coming to this local pub for a few years on and off and I'd say the food is the best it's ever been, as is the service.

I grew up in the location which has always been a beautiful and exciting place to be, by having the Woodman only enhances the location more , I now live in Croydon but Woodman Battersea will always be my first and only choice. Great Sunday Lunch in the neighbourhood - we really enjoyed our time in the Woodman today. Friendly waiters are serving an impeccable Sunday roast. Everything we had was good, the Negroni from the bar, their home made bread, the first course platters and obviously the roast and its trimmings. A great local pub with a very pleasant atmosphere in a still lesser known area of London. Fair prices too.

We feel so fortunate to have such a great local as The Woodman. Its an excellent pub with a lovely warm decor, great garden area and absolutely delicious food. We have eaten here a few times and on Saturday at their Summer Party we had the grilled prawns and Asian coleslaw and the duck and both dishes were very tasty. The staff are friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

The new owners have brought the woodman back to life. The food had lots of wow factor. The lamb I had was very good however the combination of vegetables transformed the meal to 5/5. Oh and they have reopened the woodfire pizza oven .

We had a great time here, atmosphere was really nice, decor etc. Service was good, could be slightly better with providing menus for deserts but wasn't too annoying. What was really disappointing was the roast... the beef was a little over whilst the fat hadn't rendered. The roast potatoes were REALLY disappointing. Perhaps frozen and warmed through or kept for a day? That + the Yorkshire puddings being closer to an Aunt Bessie than the big yorkshire beauties I've seen in the gallery and in some reviews. Maybe chef was off but still, roastie game was poor!

Always an outstanding experience, from the drinks selection to the quality and variety of the meals, but most of all the service. This is a family-owned pub, and you can appreciate the attention to detail and the highest standards. This was our favourite place to pop over for a pub lunch, and since we recently held our wedding reception there, I feel I can safely say there's no way to go wrong with them.

The Woodman is THE place to watch the Euros, there are tv's on each corner and each table has glass screens in between giving you plenty of space and great view of screen. They play its coming home after every goal and have an insane playlist at the end of the night with bangers like country roads. Will definitely be coming back - p.s. Its coming hoooome

We booked for Sunday lunch and I have to say the food was excellent. My only recommendation would be more gravy on the roasts. There were a few let downs with the experience - we pre booked a few days in advance but were placed on a table which was crammed between a wall, bar and fireplace. -buggy's were parked in front of a fire exit. -not enough bar staff. They seemed understaffed and those who were on were stressed or unhappy. Also showing signs for mulled wine, but then didn't have any available. - table service was poor. We suspect this was down to us being outside of the main dinning space, but after our initial order was taken, it was like we were forgotten. I had to ask the team to come and follow up a few times (pudding menu, order, the bill) -the bill was wrong when it came. We were taking guests for lunch, so didn't say anything at the time, but overall disappointing and not what I would have expected from The Woodman.

This is absolutely everything I love in a pub, it feels like a slice of the countryside in the heart of the city. It's a proper family run pub, with one of the owners operating as the head chef. The food is outstanding, and it's clear that the owner is passionate about what he serves to the customers. Their oysters are some of the very best I've had, their guinness is well kept, and their sunday roasts are superlative. I cannot compliment them enough. It's sort of my local as my girlfriend lives there, and I absolutely love going there for lunch or dinner. The staff are warm and friendly, and it has a wonderfuly relaxed laid back vibe. A real South London gem!

Popular, welcoming, shabby- chic (aka scruffy) pub, serving quite good food. The terrace at the rear is popular with smokers. The front of the pub has the bar as a central island serving customers on four sides. Bar stools at each end of the bar island are often populated with regulars, who are generally most amenable. The large room towards the rear features mostly dining tables, but also has a soft seating area.

They change owners very often, so depending on how long it takes you to go back there the experience might be different. I was there this week. The bar staff need training, but the food is delicious. They specialize in pizzas now, I had the Vito and it was really good, with a kick to it. The soup of te day was excellent a well and very well presented.

The Woodman is every inch a great local pub. It is spacious with a modern design. The Woodman also boasts a great beer garden which I am very excitied about now that Summer is on its way. The staff are attentive and friendly and were really great when we asked them for take away desserts (they even packed the sorbet seperately, which was a nice touch). Once they get to know you, they will be handing you your favourite beverage as soon as you get in the door with a warm greeting. The food is the real winner here though. The menu is vast and each dish is as tasty as the next. Prices are around £11-£15. I would recommend the cod and chips: very yummy and the fish was colossal.

One of the pubs that has changed over the years, but still remained a pub. Fundamentally a place to socialise over a drink. A few board games around to help that along too. They do stock Badger Brewery beers (my favourite). Never empty, but always seem to find a table. Rarely a queue at the bar.

So try to avoid their Sunday's if you can (unless you want to deal with a bunch of hungover intern getting your orders wrong or getting no service at all) BUT DEFINITELY GO FOR THEIR PIZZA. The woodman is a very friendly place where you can take your dog in and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere, the staff always make a fuss of my dog (botox), I myself do not drink alcohol, but on special occasions may be coerced in to having a pint of lager shandy, a lot of my friends use the woodman on a regular basis and all enjoy the company of like minded folk, they have a policy where by a member of staff takes a picture of your dog and places it on the doggy wall of fame, my dog botox loves this place and drags me towards the entrance whenever we go for a walk down by the river.
