Reviews of Three Kings Clerkenwell
T. P.
This pub is so special from the forts moment you step in the vibe and the atmosphere is welcoming, the design of the shop is classic and special. They got an amazing beer, This is my net favourite pub in the area and I highly recommend it for a night out with friends. I have like the idea of bringing a DJ every Thursday 😁
S. C.
Is it cruel to knock one star for not having chips?! Top night, very attentive staff, decent beer and good food. What's not to like??
S. A.
Fantastic place. We booked some tables to watch the Champions League final. The staff was extremely helpful, and the service was very quick even when the pub was packed.
F. H.
Went here for some drinks after a wedding, the staff were really hospitable and friendly. We had such a lovely time and they made it really special.
F.
Best pub in the area! Great atmosphere and amazing service! Special shout out to Lucia and Daris ((hope I spelled it right). We’ll definitely come back:)
D. S.
What an amazing pub. Staff were great music was brilliant. They have a D.j. every Thursday and Friday. I'll be back again tonight.
T.
What a comfortable and well lived little place this is. Big old fireplace with a Chet Baker poster above it. Doors open onto the lane by the square. As comfortable as my old cords. Wish I had my dog with me (although I never checked to see if hounds would be allowed). Fantastic music, and wall collage of pictures taken from old Sunday supplements. Beer was good. I had the Harvey’s Best Bitter, which was around £4. The bar serves pork pies too. Friendly lady behind the bar. A good, honest pub which I will actively seek out in future.
J. B.
Warm and cosy pub, with decent food (standard pub menu). Pizzas looked a bit basic when they came out but packed a really good flavour.
Plus it wasn't packed on a Friday night after work, which makes catching up with a friend much easier!
T. H.
Good, pub. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.
Pizzas are basic but ok. The cheesy nachos were terrible though - wouldn't recommend them.
A. M. G.
Attention t deeds n details from Sean and team of uno. Very nice^... relatively quiet, till a point. Lol
Another favourite, corner to find karma and clarity in.
Coolio.
N. J.
Visited on a couple of occasions as just around the corner from our hotel. As we walked to go into another pub the hanging baskets caught my eye and I thought if you take this much care with the hanging baskets the pub is worth a look. And it was. Well set out good selection of beers staff very attentive would be a great local.
A. O.
We went for a quiz night, very interesting 3 floor pub!
L. H.
Completely in love with this place. The few moaners clearly haven't been here in about, what, three years? As someone who actually DRINKS here REGULARLY, I can tell you it's amazing. Great ales, great staff, toilets that actually work now...And the pizza is lush.
J. B.
Watched the Euros match in here on Tuesday. Excellent selections of beers, great food and the staff were really fantastic. Nice pub recently decorated to a very nice standard, will definitely go again.
J. J.
What a great find, perfect for a bite to eat and great selection of drinks. Service is top notch very welcoming, will return 😎
C. S.
Ok pub, good for football. Siren soundwave on tap
G. B.
Not sure when this place transformed from idiosyncratic place containing Jukebox, plastic rhino heads, walls plastered with newspapers and posters and tasty chili on the bar to this new pub-by-numbers, but it's a real loss of another unique place in london. It's fine, but so sad to see the disappearance of the old place and be confronted with sports screens and the usual generic food and drink. What happened? Did covid bust the old owners? 😭
C. B.
This is my favourite pub. Me and my friends are so glad its reopened again. We were lost without it. The refurbishment looks outstanding and very classy. They have a new pizza menu, which is really good hot and tasty, I've tried a few and the Yankee is the best one 😋. Also the staff are so friendly and welcoming, they all work so hard there. Great service. Definitely recommend this place 👌
T. S.
Good vibe. Friendly staff. Good gins and whiskey. Guinness available 🍺
R. R.
Lovely beers, really enjoyed Mr Squirrel.
Staff friendly and good service even during a busy service during an England football game.
Impressive. I'll be back.
T. F.
Nice pub ,good beer and cool staff
B. M.
Love, love, love this place !! Just happened to be passing and thought we'd pop in. Great little find, shall be going back again.
Good atmosphere and the staff were amazing, very polite and helpful.
V. B.
Very good manager and I liked it there. Good vibe
S. W.
Relatively good beer selection and equally inexpensive.
There's a fantastic poster wall with some of the great musical images on. Cool decor generally.
Ample seating upstairs and down.
R. W.
Nice pub, great atmosphere. The some of the walls are covered with celebrities and moments from the pages of magazines from times gone by which, along with other mementoes, gives the pub a warm antique atmosphere.
A decent bar with a good selection of beers and spirits and the food, though not fancy, is tasty and reasonably priced.
G. T.
Excellent service... Great pub. Love the choice of food and drink.
Particularly good pizza.
C. L.
Nice beers and nice pub!
J. F.
Nice selection of bitters and friendly staff but had an unpleasant smell in the bar and was served a beer with a lipstick mark still on it.
D. C.
Very happy with our experience. Staff and service were both excellent - All of our requests were accommodated in a friendly and efficient manner.
The staff genuinely went above and beyond!
S.
Friendly pub, fantastic staff and a good pint to boot
K. I.
Fairly lively and busy downstairs area with some very nice "private" rooms upstairs, which are quite easy to get. OK selection of beverages, can't comment on the food as I haven't tried it. Worth a visit, especially if you want to organise a meet-up with a small group!
K. C.
Everybody here was amazing to us on our trip. We had left a bag at another pub and the owner of this one left word that we could pick it up at his establishment (we had been chatting him up). When we arrived we were given our bag and a drink on the house. Needless to say we stayed and had a few more. Staff was great! Do check it out if you are nearby.
R. W.
Love this pub been coming here for years. I use to go to tango opposite in the crypt. there was excellent live music playing blues/ jazz., not sure if that still happens. Steeped in history. Check it out if you have time.
N. B. (.
A really welcoming pub with good beers and a great choice of gin. Nice to see a record player too and to hear Joni Mitchell, there's passion here, for sure. It's my birthday regular, even though I live a couple of hours away.
N. B.
a really nice pub, lovely pizza...wine and very nice staff
i will most definitely be returning
R. M.
This is a busy little pub tucked away on the corner of Clerkenwell green, we picked this pub because of their reputation for good pub grub, particularly the Scotch eggs, and we weren't disappointed.
The food was uniformly good .one member of our little party had the chilli and was pleased with his choice, however the majority indulged on the range of scotch eggs and they were eating fast and enthusiastically , I thought they tasted fantastic. My favourite was the black pudding laced scotch egg.
This is a proper pub, its small and perfectly formed and they seem to make a mark of doing certain things well. It's not really the prettiest or brightest pub and the interior is a little drab, however despite this somehow adds to the ambience which was excellent on the night I went.
I can see this being a great summer evening pub with people spilling out on to the quiet street in front. the only small point is that the range of beers is a little week, if they had a larger selection or more eclectic selection this would be an ace boozer rather than just a good boozer.
T. D.
Lovely boozer with great pizza.
Z. I.
Very good selection of drinks, the staff are very nice and the service is great.
C. H.
A nice change from the squeaky clean corporate pub which served an interesting array of food and drinks. The location allows for outdoor drinks when the weather is good with the church steps acting as a seating area plus a wall serving as a nifty platform for drinks. Great pub for the area and a cut above some of the others in the immediate area.
L. G.
Has a cool grungy vibe, and set away from the main streets, it has a real 'alternative' feel. Decent enough for food options, but not very spacious and service is maybe not quite as great as some of the other Farringdon pubs. Worth checking out, but I'd always take the Crown or Castle over this one.
H. W.
Oh what a lovely, warm and chatty pub! Good company and great Harvey's beer - so rare north of the river. Only downside is it's London prices - £4.50 a pint.....where's the nearest Sam Smith when you need him?
C. K.
Pleasant yet crowded. I've been here loads and its always packed. This visit was half three on a friday afternoon yet still very busy. A place to see and be seen. Beers are well kept and good wine cellar.
M. M.
Brilliant pub, always packed and buzzing with a great atmosphere. It's one of the few pubs in the area that still has the old school pub feel, highly recommended and they have a great selection of beers, wine and spirits.
G. W.
Lot of memories about this place, so I'm biased.
Good beer on tap though, refreshing. Some beer snacks.
Open front in good weather. Relaxed place to grab a drink. Can get busy after work.
K. S.
Best bar in London, bar none! (I’m so funny...) It is honestly my favourite bar because it is quirky, it is genuinely full of personality and is more authentic than any bar you will find in London. Long live the Three Kings (I know, I should become a comedian...)
G. Y.
Stopped for a coffee and a snack early morning. The sausage rolls were some of the best ever.
J.
Popped in for a beer (which is always great). Bloke behind the barwas a great chat and super friendly, which on a hot sunny day after a long shift is unexpected, but warmly welcomed!
T. W.
Visited the three kings, the service was fantastic. Great choices of beer. Highly recommend.
J.
Good, traditional, cosy pub. Decent beer selection on tap, and a couple of craft beers by the bottle. Lovely place to stand outside on a nice evening.
R. T.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff
T. H.
great sneaky little backstreet pub
C. H.
Great range of real ale, friendly team and great music 🎶
p.
I love this Quirky little Pub. They have a Great selection of Gins. The Staff are very Friendly and welcoming and it has the Best music playing.
LOVE IT!!!
L. L.
Extensive beer collection and cosy interior! Love the fact that it's on a semi-pedestrian street (exmouth) where there is hardly any traffic and public life has bloomed. Highly recommend this bar and this area to everyone
M. P.
Very nice pub. Can't tell about the food because we didn't had any. We reserved a room upstairs and played board games all evening. It was great!
J. L.
Smaller pub with great ambiance. Friendly bar staff and good selection of drinks. Bar gets extremely warm.
B. B.
Perfect spot for a perfect beer 🍻, lovely staff and great atmosphere.
P. W.
Would have been a 5 if the seafarers had been on
M. M.
Another london classic - tucked away where the people in the know, know.
Grab a scotch egg, and get by the fire if its a cold or wet day - its like your transported back in time and away from the city. Post work it gets busy - but theres lots of room outside and its just a great social point.
About as pubby as a pub can be.
B. C.
Excellent beers, friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Slightly tucked away from the main thoroughfares makes this an ideal place for a quiet and relaxing drink.
R. L.
Nice. Good for bottle selection but at time of writing only half of casks on. Nothing noteworthy on draught. Good atmosphere and not rammed even post work on a weekday.
T. B.
A really great pub tucked away on Clerkenwell Close. Feels authentic and the staff are always friendly. Certainly my preference over the Crown around the corner.
C. G. D.
The Three Kings is an independent, family-run, back street boozer that actually deserves to be called a "hidden gem". Just off Clekenwell Green and near Farringdon, it's well worth seeking out. The staff, the decor, the drinks, the drinkers - you could say they are all "decent" but that would slightly be underselling this unpretentious pub.
It says it all that, when England lost to Croatia and ended their run in the World Cup the whole pub erupted into a chorus of "Always look on the bright side of life..."
B. S.
Fun little pub, but attracts too many people for it to be pleasant during Friday nights, bar is rammed. Nice to stand outside in summer though
M. W.
Nice cosy pub with good food and well kept ales. Good to see Tim Taylor’s Landlord on tap. Seats a bit hard and uncomfortable.
J. H.
A quirky sort of a pub with quite a young crowd - very Clerkenwell. Still lots of original features though, and quite an attractive exterior, with some nice tiling - presumably Victorian. I recall they had Monster Munch.
C. S. R.
Awesome, loved it. 👍 Great decor and atmosphere without the all-to-familiar fake feeling. Friendly service and good food. Please don't go because I don't want it to get too busy, thanks
C. L.
Best pub in Clerkenwell. Great ambience, great drinks, great people. Gets super busy but then good places always do!
M. S.
Really classy, beautiful and well maintained bar.
C. P.
great little pub, though they kept moving us, progressively closing outside, then upstairs, then downstairs. Nice room upstairs with a balcony as well.
N. L.
Lovely pint of Peroni. Sweet little pub.
J. B.
Never as busy as the places around it, which for me is great, as I dislike being in pubs that are rammed full. Great staff and good beers
S.
Stumbled upon a pub quiz. Super fun, friendly staff, good wine and beer selection
C. S.
Very nice atmosphere, with an interesting decor. The gins they are offering are fantastic, as well as the selection of beers.
T. A.
Great pub, good selection of beers, but it does get very busy! Probably because it's a good pub!
L. S. (.
Located on a very pretty little street, at night it's faced by a big lit up Church.
I went on a Thursday and it was quite crammed.
Decent pint of Guiness though.
M. M.
Amazing place with super friendly bar staff and a diamond of a guv’nor.
R. C.
Cheery bar staff, Timothy Taylor beer was spoilt by having been poured back in! This is old fashioned practise from the 1980s, this doesn't make you want to come back
S. B.
Very nice pub! Loved the interior and design of it! Would recommend to a friend.
D. G. S.
