First impressions I like this venue
You order food at the bar, and pay before you eat and drink
one's Meal is brought to your table.
Quick service under 5 minutes
Attentive staff
No sooner have I eaten than my. empty plates are whisked away
SOMETHING I HATE.
All the more so, once I had finished my drink the empty glass was whisked away within seconds of it touching the table as if they wanted you out
If it was not by chance that I
Came here on a Saturday when a brass band was playing under the squares bandstand which added to the ambience I would have given this place Two stars
Will be back to try out their Sunday carvery next time to see if it fairs better to other venues I frequent.
Post scrip, Sunday Buffet disappointing

Came here for my Father-in-laws wake and was very impressed with everything. Very nice location, helpful owners and staff and the food was extremely good especially the sausage rolls which everyone thought were the best they had ever eaten, 100%.

Quaint café/grill in old windmill building and nice exterior covered extension.
Excellent service, and very reasonably priced food!
I had the half a vegetarian breakfast and nicely done toasts! Was filling and nice! Tea was seriously spot on. Nicely brewed and smooth! One of the best teas I have tasted!
By that I mean, I could taste the tea's natural quality without having the urge to add a little sugar. I also got 2 and a half cups from the tea pot!
Ambience nice and cosy. If you want to feel like you're at a day theme park, just step into the extension at the front of the café/grill.
Overall nice food at a very reasonable price near a windmill. You don't need to go to Holland now!

This is a local restaurant. It has kept up to date and offers real English food at good prices. If you are in our around Merton Abbey this is a must visit

What a lovely place to stop for honest, cheaply priced food. Had a lovely soup and sandwich. Service very friendly. Highly recommend checking out the surroundings too.

Amazing staff
Warm welcome and interior and also outdoor seating if you need it.

I only had the full English breakfast, eating it outside at the tables, next to the Wandle river on a gorgeous sunny day; can't fault it anyhow (for the price paid it's a good trade)...plus, you can visit the other food shops in that area & of course the Mill itself which still has an operating water mill 👍
I had to downgrade it from 4 to 3 ⭐ since recently, after lockdown rules eased, for the full English breakfast they dropped the hash browns, but the price is the same; you can still get them but you need to pay extra.

We went for the carvery on Sunday. It is difficult to fault the quality and quantity for the price, but personally I'd support a little increase in the price in exchange for a larger portion of meat. I feel as though 3 small and thin slices just isn't enough and leaves you disappointed. Having said that, the quality is fantastic and I would generally encourage my friends and family to visit.

Absolutely love the Sunday carvery, one of the best I have had in London. Staff are very friendly and always helpful. The atmosphere is great and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves a good carvery. I will definitely be eating here again.

I've eaten here a few times. The food is great and the staff are always very helpful and friendly. It's in a great location, part of Merton abbey mills with live music in the square outside. It's not expensive and has plenty of seating will definitely go again. A great place to eat out and relax.

Went for dinner on a Thursday night, restaurant was unfortunately quiet but the food was surprisingly good quality, cooked very well and beautifully presented. I would happily recommend this to any friends and family.

Run by very friendly people who serve good food at reasonable prices. The veggie breakfast is excellent. Also if the weather is decent there is plenty of space to eat outside.

I've only tried the cafe which is a good, cheap greasy spoon. People say the restaurant is very nice. The location is good in the centre of Abbey Mills

love the sunday carvery =) they let us have the "veggie" option (all the veggies we want, no meat, slightly cheaper) and always offer veggie sausages if we want!
