Reviews of Windmill

Great service and amazing pies! Scotch eggs are also great. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for a post shopping meal
N. S.
Great place for afternoon lunch. We ordered Shepard's pie, squash mushroom and filo pie, and sticky toffee pudding. Everything was great. We especially liked the sticky toffee pudding. Service was also great.
T. B.
Best pies I’ve ever had - both the steak and mushroom & chicken, bacon and leek were just so good. The sticky toffee pudding was also a delicious dessert option. 100% will be coming back!
S. W.
Fantastic Sunday roast! Service can be a bit slow, but the staff was very friendly and made their best effort to accommodate everyone. Great prices and generous portions.
K. C.
My favourite pub in London and maybe the world. I’ve been coming to this pub for 5 years and at one point in time it was my second home and I would visit 3-4 times a week. The staff have turned over quite a lot since then but the standards of the drinks and the food have remained a constant which is why I still go back and will go back for the foreseeable future.
A.
Nice Ambience, Excellent food and great service. Would recommend their Steak and Kidney Pie
L. K.
Good Mayfair pub and great pie (steak and mushroom in particular).
Expensive - expect Mayfair prices with pint of lemonade and OJ for a fiver
Nice little terrace on the roof
Can get quiet busy on Thursdays /Fridays as regular spot for local office workers but quiet on wk ends
Clean overall
If fully booked check out the guinea near Berkeley sqr which is run by the same group and also make great pies
A. L.
The pies are as good as I remembered them pre covid, however there is a stark difference in the cost as the pie used to be £14 and now £16.50 and that doesn’t include chips anymore which I’m sure they did originally but now they’re an extra £4.50. I wouldn’t recommend the creamed spinach as it was okay but not worth the £4.50 price tag. In total it’s a £25.50 pie dinner which is very expensive in my opinion. If you can afford to go, I would recommend the experience but unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to afford to go again at this cost. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was cosy.
N. W.
Been here several times and it is a great West End pub. Staff were great and make sure you are hungry before you order a pie. They are fantastic.
S. O.
Went in to The Windmill expecting a bit of a mediocre pub pie. WRONG. Best pie I've ever had by a long way. Ed was a great waiter and advised us of what to go for. 10/10. Went to Putney Pies the next day...didn't come close!
P. M.
Nice cosy place for a drink, famed for its pies. Didn't eat but the food served to other customers looked and smelled great and judging by their faces, tasted good too.
S. A.
A bit expensive, and the sides are not included, but definitely recommend if you love pies! Venison was amazing!
S. W.
The lack of formal management was a bit of an issue but Evelina, Josh and Ed really stepped up in spite of this and definitely deserve commendations for their help all along the way of our event. I hope Youngs will fasttracks their progression.
Great food and lovely venue.
G. L.
I don't like food in pub. But they have so delicious pie and other dishes!!!!
One of my best British food experience in London! Was really good and price wasn't too expensive. We(2people) ordered one pie with mash potato, two small dishes and beer. Was full! If my friend will visit London, I definitely bring to here!!
S. M.
Quite spacious pub with a history. Famous for its pies. But we stopped by for Sunday roast. We had rump and lamb's leg. Roast comes with honey glazed veggies. Food is good and authentic.
Food selection of beers on tap. 4 IPAs to choose from if you're interested.
I can imagine this place getting crowded and very busy.
Staff was rather relaxed and were busy chatting with each other, rather than checking in with guests. But it was OK, nothing to complain about.
K. M.
Definitely a must-visit pub while you're in London.
Once there, you should try one of their pies - they are to die for and you will regret missing out on them. Tried a few and I couldn't say anything negative about them if I wanted to!
The staff is very professional, friendly and helpful - always an important thing on a night out.
Great selection of beers and other alcohols.
Fully recommend!
W. O.
Great pub with pies (steak and mushrooms, steak and kidneys) that are definitely worst the detour. Highly recommended!
t.
I had the most amazing venison pie and my partner had the steak and mushroom pie which was also extremely good. The pie was very filling, we shared a side and only just managed to eat it all. It may seem a little expensive but was definitely worth the price. We will definitely come back for pie again.
E. V.
We had a lovely Saturday afternoon at the Windmill. The place is lovely and the food very tasty. Loved the steak and mushroom pie, really nice! Looking forward to go back and taste all the lovely things they have on the menu.
A. M.
These are proper pies! Pretty expensive at around £15 for the pie and mash or chips extra. But very nice. Good selection of beers and friendly staff.
D. T.
Good traditional English pub, serving a variety of pies amongst other menu items. Nice atmosphere, helpful staff. Pies were nice, but we have had better. One pie had to be returned as it was soggy and spilling out of the sides. It was changed straight away without question.

Had a reservation and I was promptly seated by a very helpful hostess. Waiter completely ignored me for about 15 mins. Made eye contact but never came over to take an oder. Once he did take my order, he seemed shocked that I also wanted food. I was holding the food menu in my hand. He was more interested in setting the table behind me and the gentlemen next to me. I’ve been here several times over the years and the pies are excellent. The service is normally quite good but today this waiter didn’t seem at all interested. A simple hello or be right with you was all I needed. Instead I was pretty much ignored. Very sad and makes me wonder about if I will ever go back.
S. L.
Amazing little spot. The service was incredibly hospitable and the food was incredible. Comfy atmosphere.
T. B.
There was a queue when we arrived but we were put on the waiting list and didn't manage to make it half way through our beers before we were called to our table. The pie crust was amazing, let alone the filling. Beautifully prepared too. The service from the moment we arrived throughout our meal was incredible, felt so well looked after and at ease. A nice selection of British ales. Great pub atmosphere.
M. B.
Booked for a meal. Genuine pub vibe.
More drinkers than eaters so very loud. And a bit difficult to hear eachother. The pies & food were so tasty and would definitely recommend.
But much more suited for drinks than a family meal on a Friday night.
p. 1.
First time back after 2 years. It was a Friday afternoon and more quiet than usual. I would 50% less people than before the pandemic which is a big shame.
Food and service was excellent as always. Good selection of beers. They do lot add service charge to the bill and it’s is discretionary. This is always a good sign and I always pay 10%.
I really do hope this place does well as it is a legendary place amongst the west end working community.
E.
Amazing pies in a very sweet tucked away pub! Loved the steak and ale in particular.
D. T.
A great Young's pub in Mayfair on Mill St. Good beer and helpful pleasant staff. A good place to visit to avoid the shopping. A small outdoor terrace tucked away upstairs, next to the Pie Room.
M. A.
Well I had the incredible Burger. Vegetarian option...very nice...not beans at all. Good service. Will come again.
M. V.
My favorite pie place in London. Who am I kidding, my favorite pie place in the world!!!! These pies are so much better than anything we tried anywhere else. My personal favorite is chicken, bacon and leek one. The salad with Nutbourne tomatoes is excellent too. Extra thanks to Alex (our server) for being awesome!
M. B.
Great little old fashioned pub down a side street in Mayfair. They offer a great variety of pies along with other dishes. We opted for the fish finger sandwiches which was more like half a baguette with chips, mushy peas and salad. Very reasonable prices especially in the middle of Mayfair. Fast and friendly efficient service and cosy surroundings.
M. D.
Had the vegan pie a could of times here, it's not amazing but still pretty good. I would like if there was more than one vegan option, but given this is known for the meat pies I'm glad they have the option :)
G. D.
This Youngs pub restaurant offers a good range of drinks and delicious pub grub. The pies are a treat. This is also a lively and jovial watering hole in Mayfair.
J. R.
Best pies in London! Service is no-fuss and straightforward; one should enjoy an aperitif (or three) as there will be some preparation time required for the food order.
The terrace upstairs also makes a nice quiet hideout on Sunday afternoons.
F. O.
After reading the review on The Guardian I had to try their pies (available only in their bar menu). Excellent pastry, even the sausage roll is superb, recommended to anyone willing to taste British classics at their best. Sadly no venison pies when I visited. Upmarket location so a bit pricey, still big portions and great ingredients totally justify the bill. Ok service
k. b.
Make an advance booking. We were lucky to get a seat. Pies pies and pies... Is what you should order end with a sticky toffee pudding.... Mind blowing..... Cocktails were OK.
l.
3.8 (3 is a bit harsh :))
Nice large pub in the middle of Mayfair, known for it's "award winning pies". I had the chicken pie with mash - it was good, but I didn't think it was anything spectacular or award winning.
Service was also ok, but again - nothing standout.
There's a rooftop with heaters that was a nice touch.
R. Z.
Went there for a pie and it was lovely. The pub is very cool inside, nice chilled vibes and on a quiet street. Nice décor, traditional pub with a modern twist. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, our waiter Wojtek was fabulous - explained each dish, answered our questions and made us feel welcome. He was also very attentive and approachable, thanks!
Pies (award winning!) were delicious, with flavourful pastry and balanced stuffing. My mash could have been a tad warmer but the hot gravy covered it nicely. We also went for puddings and they were fantastic. Best brownie I had in a while.
Good selection of spirits and ales. Good value for money. Will be coming back.
M. R.
Wonderful venison pie and good atmosphere.
Very much a pub doing good food rather than a gastro pub.
S. D.
Ordered the soup on the menu to learn there was no soup. Took a pie which was OK, but couldn't eat the spinach really too salted. Though the waiter spread our cider on the table (and us) , and we had to wait 3 quarters of an hour to eat, no discount or compensation was proposed. Deceiving.
I.
We are not very familiar with pies like these so we wanted to give them a try. We really liked the pies. The staff is nice. They also have an allergy menu so you can see what is in these pies. My boyfriend doesn't like mushrooms and he got a pie with a lot of them because he was not aware that there would be mushrooms in it (the menu didn't specify). We told our waitress and he easily got a new pie and we didnt get charged for the other one. I call that great service. Nice people, good food.
J. M.
The best Black Pudding Scotch Egg I've ever had. Get that! The Shepherd's Pie was ok, but the Scotch Egg was amazing.. and the English sticky toffee was delicious as well. This is a bar that serves food, not a regular restaurant, so expect the service and atmosphere to be as such. Other pies might be better.. would like to check those out next time. Enjoy!
L. S.
Sooooo yummy. Amazing steak & ale pie. Place is as cute as a button. Good service. Lovely typical English fare. Yummy
D. G.
Great Guinness, lovely staff. Interior is also great.
M. N.
Ordered the shepherd's pie, it was slightly too salty but ok. Had to wait nearly an hour for the food. Nice pub atmosphere and the location is great.
M. b.
Homemade pie and mash, excellent quality, Very big generous and tasty filling. It was clear they put a lot of effort into making these gems fresh.Restaurant staff was fun and very attentive. You have to book (that says it all doesnt it) do it!
N. M.
Very nice and cozy spot. Very happy it was open on New Year's Day and we really wanted to try British food. I got the lamb pie & my husband got the venison pie. Not a disappointment and the service was pleasant.
They requested that you keep an open tab and hold your card with an exchange of a key till your finished (in picture)
b. p.
Have never tried shepherds pie before, but if i did - this is exactly how i imagined it to be!!
The pies were delicious!
The fries were disappointing and the mash with the gravy were just ok.
Their specialty gin was also a treat.
We took the balcony, because the smell at the majn floor was terrible.
Will recommend though! Me and wifie had enjoyed
T. B.
Excellent pub. Normally packed on friday afternoons. From 6pm to 9pm on a Friday, it can be overcrowded, however, never seen it rowdy. As a result of its position, it is frequented by the nearby office staff. There is a restaurant upstairs in addition to the seating space downstairs.
B. B.
Absolutely the best pie in London. We had Shepherds Pie and mash, chicken bacon leek and chips and a shepherds pie with curly Kale. All of them superb. All with delicious gravy!! Lots of filling, with perfect pastry. Served very quickly in a busy pub. Decor is like traditional boozer but done up posh.
C. Y.
Absolutely delicious Sunday roast! The Yorkshire pudding was better than most of the Sunday roast I’ve been! Will definitely go back and check out their award winning pies!!
T. K.
We had a really great time at my low key birthday celebration. Couple of friends, a couple of pies and a few beers. Outstanding value for money, especially as we were in Mayfair.
Table service was excellent, with the server assisting with choices and made sure we got everything needed and checked back on us as the evening progressed. I had the shepherd's pie which was absolutely delicious and clearly hand made. Head and shoulders above standard pub grub in the area.
My buddy had the vegan option that came with sweet potato fries (which i stole). Spot-on, he was more than happy with his choice.
A. B.
The pie here is the best in London (IMHO). It amazes me how crusty the pastry is and yet how saucy the filling is. The gravy pot on the side....you’ll want about five of these. Just incredible. Lovely small garden on the 1st floor - because there’s no shame whatsoever in eating pies at the height of summer.
P. H.
Excellent pub two minutes off Regent Street. We had a family dinner here (14 of us) and we had our own private room and bar. Food was great, pies excellent and the waiting staff very attentive and helpful. I think we are planning to repeat next year.
M.
A pretty decent shepards pie
O. F.
Hands down the best pie I've eaten. Such a quaint interior especially upstairs. It's the perfect place for a romantic evening out. We had the beef pie and veg pie. With a glass of wine each and everything was delightful. Next time we're in London we are definitely going!!
M. S.
Popped in here for a quick drink - been meaning to pop in here for a while and will definitely be coming back. Lovely, spacious but cosy pub. Service quick and friendly, cleanliness levels good and food menu looked great too. Nice cosy pub out of the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street - definitely worth a visit.
T. W.
Random sight seeing and I find this place. Great spot for lunch. Ordered the goat cheese salad and the Chicken Bacon pie. Great food. Get in early cause ot fills up fast. Really nice staff there!
D. T.
Pubs in Central London are always busy but you may find your luck here. Roof terrace, pie room, restaurant and pub area will give you space to choose from. Staff a little inexperienced and food not plasticky and enjoyable. Beer choice is good with local , national and mainstream brands. Not five stars though.
L. W.
I ordered the fish and chips, the chips were a bit cold and chewy and the fish didn't taste great.
However staff were nice and the batter was crispy.
O. B.
Very good lamb shank pie, great ambience, nice not-so-common beers but a bit pricy going at 5.3 quid a pint.
S. A.
This pub is a hidden gem, the food is extremely good, they have a large selection of ales and lagers and you can have a refreshing gin in the secret garden 😉 Highly recommended!!
P. G.
Food is good, but that's about it. We went there for the pie. However, this place is way too noisy for my taste. The waitress had big problems in understanding or explaining to us what is or isn't included in the menu. Probably the Brits love this pub, but as a tourist you might want to pick something else. Prices are a bit on the high side too.
G. B.
Amazing hidden food garden and one of the best pies I have had in ages!!!
R. G.
Average food. Service ok but nice location. I feel every pub & bar is bad since covid
J. P.
Had a lovely meal on 10th December. Best pigs in blankets ever.
T. B. K.
Fantastic pies, good beer selection, cosy place, good service, friendly staff and there is a roof terrace. Definitely recommend
i. w.
Superb pub. Great service and the best pies we have had.
C. V.
I don't think it's a coincidence that the Windmill is award winner of the pie and mash because I had a great meal! Really close to the shopping area of London as well. Prices are good as well.
You should definitely try the terrace in the summer.
C. B.
Delicious, traditional style pies. Staff was attentive, accommodating and nice. Rugby match was on when we were there and lots of locals were there to watch the game.
A. E.
If you love pies, this is the place.
Great food, customer service and amazing location.
Perfect for larger groups as well
R. C.
Food is good and Friendly services
P. B.
Came here based on a recommendation from my brother. Somehow it had passed me by. Glad I came. Very nice pies. I've only sampled the steak and kidney (+mushroom) pie with mash. But it was on point. You could really taste the kidney in there. Tge pastry was also a step up.
Pricing was around £15 a head with a pint. Will be back to try other varietys of pies on offer.
R. P.
Nice pub. Attentive staff. Good time pie.
T. G.
Just what I had hoped for in a proper pub with great meat pie options. Excellent service and gin/tonic options too. Not to mention located by Carnaby St.
R. E.
If you are in Mayfair and like good beer and pie then this is the place. Beer wise it's a Young's pub with some good guest ales so you'll not go far wrong. With respect to pie, I hear you ask 'What kind of pie?'... To which I answer pie kind of pies. Honestly if you have to ask go to Gregg's...
C. P.
Great service. We had the Venison and Mushroom pie - it was excellent. I don’t drink Ale, but they had plenty of Larger available, Moretti.
C. M.
Friendly staff, couple of nice ales, but here it's all about the pies. Venison with mash was genuinely one of the best pies I've ever had. Would definitely come again. Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream was a tasty treat to finish things off. Pies:10/10. Will be back to try some other fillings for sure.
V.
Food was great. A very lively spot, especially with the after-work crowd. Service could be a little bit friendlier; but staff were efficient, and knew their business.
E. W.
Well positioned, slightly sticky floored, original, old school pub. Decent beer selection.
M. H. C. (.
Don't miss the opportunity to try this solid piece of art; Windmill venison pie is an absolute go-to. Other than that, I felt a bit dissapointed with the side fries; very small ration plus I'd say they were just Mc'cains. Service Ok
D. P.
Great roast beef Sunday lunch. would have given 5 stars, but toilets were terrible. Both cubicles had loose seats and one was blocked. Won't put me off going back.
R. C.
Really nice family pub during the day, great drinks after 6! Tried the steak and mash pie & shepherd’s pie and both were lovely.
A. G.
So nice place, the traditional pies are AMAZING!!
N. W.
Nice pub, but a bit gastro as they don't make you feel particularly welcome if you're just popping in for a drink.
K. S.
Squeezed us in at lunch
Excellent service
Pie and a pint in Mayfair- lush
S. C.
Delicious pie and fair price!
Lucia's service and tips about the menu were great!
D. M. (.
The only restaurant serving British good where I can bring French people and they leave the restaurant thinking British good is actually good :-)
C. M. J.
Best sausage and mash I’ve ever had! Really good traditional pub food (my partner devoured his Shepard’s pie!), good service, lovely atmosphere, very Covid safe, and a good selection of drinks. Will definitely be back soon!
D. H.
Exceptional burger, one of the best I've had. Top class chips, Malbec went down very well. Classic London pub vibe, friendly and helpful staff
L. T.
Breaking negative stereotypes about British food, one pie at a time.
J. K.
We love the secret roof terrace in the Summer, the excellent pies, and cocktails. Friendly, very efficient staff.
N. T.
Absolutely delicious pies. Flakely crust with tender juicy meat. All wrapped in an amazing gravy.
T. B.
Mayfair Youngs Pub with decent range of beer and a mostly pie based menu, rather expensive but then again it's Mayfair. If you want pie the Nellie Dean Soho a better bet
R. M.
Amazing food and service. The staff was friendly and the pot pies that we had were delicious.
L.
Amazing steak and mushroom pie! Highly recommend making a stop here for a pie.
J. M.
Welcoming. Great pies. Would come again.
D. C.
Nice little dog friendly pub with great pies and ales. Some tables seemed a little too cosy for COVID regs, especially when customers move chairs around, but management were super quick to rectify and review. Food was delicious. Would suggest the bar staff try to keep a bit of separation with customers and remind them of the one way system.
B. E.
I ordered fish and chips, the waitress forced me to get Hampshire Venison Pie... It was amazing!
B. L.
I have loved this pub and its food for some time. I bring all of my overseas visitors here for an authentic London pie!
We had a lovely meal with fantastic service from Edward, who was very friendly, attentive and a credit to the pub!
The menu has changed recently for some reason, however. Unfortunately, I found this a bit disappointing with the heightened prices of the food. Sides, which used to accompany their pies, are now charged separately.
E. B.
Yummy pies, good variety of beer, 6 nation's on, and pleasant service. All around a good evening!
B. M.
Bangers and mash were fantastic, the place looks amazing, and the service is really good.
A. B.
Best pies we ever had! Team was super friendly and the atmosphere was great. And so clean! Love how they approached social distancing. Definitely will be coming back
P. S.
We had a superb lunch at the Windmill. Pies were every bit as good as they are claimed to be - possibly the finest I have ever eaten. Also the outstanding service from Lucia was much appreciated. Our son was not feeling well and she was most kind bringing hot water and bread to help settle his stomach. All in all a wonderful experience and we will definitely return on our next trip to London. The Windmill is an absolute “must visit” !
L. S.
So happy that we've found this little gem. Absolutely delicious pie and mash. I myself had the shepherds pie which was to die for. The pub itself is lovely and cosy, perfect place to be on a chilly winter's day and Lisa the host made us feel very welcome. She was hilarious too and so our experience was perfect - perfect setting, perfect service, perfect food. Thank you!
S. P.
Walked In at 21.57, asked if the kitchen was still open. I feel like in any other place, they just wouldn't be bothered, and they' would've said "sorry, kitchen is closed", but in here, the waiter told me that literally it was still open from another 3 more minutes, and I was able to order food. Had a steak and mushroom pie, one of the two that were still available out of a selection of 8 different pies. A bit expensive. £15 for pie with mash, and I got a bit disappointed that there was no greens at all, no peas, not even a bit of salad. But the pie was indeed very tasty, with a delicious gravy. The mash was also good. Good experience overall due to the ambience in the pub and the flavours of the food, but a bit disappointed with the price and the missing sides.
A.
Have just had the most amazing venison pie. Perfect suet pastry. So crisp and light. Filling was stunning. Lovely setting and perfect covid safe environment.
S. S.
Absolutely delicious food! Our appetizers were 'lip smackingly' good: croquettes and crab cakes. My shepherd's pie was divine and my husband enjoyed his steak pie enormously as well. Service was so attentive and warm. If I lived in London, I would be going there at least once a week!
J.
Best pie I’ve ever had. British cuisine at its best.
L. D.
Excellent pies, nice atmosphere and very friendly staff! I tried the steak and mushroom pie and my partner had the steak and kidney pie. Both were delicious and bigger than I expected. We liked the steak and mushroom pie more, but I think this is more of a matter of preference. We will definitely be back!
J. A.
I was welcomed by a very pleasant and fun person. I ordered a pint of ale, which the barman allowed me to try first. Tasted great, but when he poured the pint, he thought it was cloudy and insisted on giving me an alternative. I was very impressed with the service here.
M. D.
I recommend you to eat in the terrace, check if there are any seats available and then go to the bar and ask them to deliver the food to you to the rooftop terrace. I ate shepherd's pie and it was delicious. The staff was really friendly, they gave us advices about what to eat and were polite
S. R.
Pies and Scottish egg were outstanding. Great service as well.
B. O.
Great staff, Super helpful. Love the Guinness from the tap.
Sadly some of the popular pies were sold out.
But the food was still great.
Place is a little of a squeeze do take note if you bringing children.
E. c.
Excellent scotch egg and welsh rarebit. Properly done, yummy. Steak and mushrooms pie was also excellent, particularly the perfect gravy it is served with. Would have given it 5 stars if the ambience wasn't so annoingly loud, and way too crammed, really claustrophobic. The cacophony coming from 4 careless rudely loud people next to us ruined it a bit.
R.
What a great place. The pies are lovely, stuffed full of filling, rather than hunting the meat, like some places. At £14 for a pie and chips/mash, some might call it expensive, but the quality is top notch. There is a small roof terrace which is great for catching the sun. Great selection of beers on tap, and the staff are very friendly and attentive.
s. k.
Lovely pie and craft beers. Would highly recommend
L. S.
This place was completely rammed with the typical drunken English people who go after work to drink their problems away. But the food I ate here was delicious. Finding which area I needed to go to for my booking was confusing as nobody to greet you when you walk in with all the drunks and getting anxiety. The staff that told me I was in the wrong area were snobby and judgemental. The staff that served me were extremely polite and knowledgeable about their job. The toilet signs were tricky to find and it cam be hard to get around then when the drinks take up all the room for you to try to walk around to find it.be careful on the stairs as they are narrow and might need to wait for people to get through.
D. S.
Main pub was heaving, people also drinking outside on both sides of the street. So glad we booked a table for dinner. Lisa our waitress was a super star. Definitely made our evening. Good food and great company. A thoroughly good evening was had by all. Only given 4 stars just for the the time it took to fight the way to the bar and be served.
L.
Best pie I ever had!!! Highly recommend steak and mushroom pie - delicious! Good selection of beers. Really friendly staff and great service. Pub looked clean with an amazing atmosphere. Great location just off the regent street. Five stars it is!
S. Y.
Lovely pub serving delicious award winning pies! Yum!
J. C.
Tipical English pub, but if you are looking for a very good pie this is the place to be.
A. B.
Visited for Pie Week and it was a great vibe. Loved the mini bar snacks of pies!
D. K.
Best pies in London? Probably.
H. S.
Pretty nice pub, food was good (not incredible) and quite overpriced. Roof terrace was nice.
M. C.
This Windmill is a wonderful place specialising in pies. They have a range of pies that are constant on the menu and then a seasonal one. I've had the chicken, leek and bacon pie as well as the seasonal venison and both were amazing.
They also cater for vegans and vegetarians. In addition to this they have a good selection of ales, lagers and ciders on tap.
Definitely worth booking in advance. They also have an outdoor terrace to enjoy in good weather.
A. Y.
Best pies I've ever had. I'm no connoisseur but the variety is good, the price is good, and the service is good. Pies are nicely crisp on the outside and filled to the rim with meat and goodness on the inside without the pie getting mushy and breaking apart at the first cut. Make a reservation though.
L. W.
A nice pub with good beers to choose from (old and new style ales) but the food was average for me and inedibly salty for my girlfriend. To be fair, they replaced it and didn't charge but the wait was significant and the sides were poor quality.
K. I.
The Shepherds Pie was on point. Food and service exceeded our expectations.
R. A.
A very cosy restaurant with a variety of pies to choose from. The meat pies are delicious. It would be nice to have more than 1 option for vegan/vegetarians.
D.
Great place. Came here for a drink on Sunday evening, we were served by a friendly Irish guy called Edward! The staff work hard and the service is top notch!! Be sure to ask for Ed on you're visit! Top guy and a top place!!
A. G. B.
Nice pub in Mayfair with excellent (read standout) pies. This is with the detour for the food, especially given how rare it is to find a pie worth eating these days; even more so given a very central location. Reasonable range of beers too.
M. F.
Nice pub friendly staff serving Young’s beer. I desperately wanted to try the pies as they looked amazing and I’m told they are, but the kitchen closed at 10 pm! Need to come back soon when the kitchen is open. The pub could do with a refit especially the carpet on the stairs. Maybe I’m cynical but I hate not seeing the measure being poured when ordering a double G&T as the staff have their back to you when pouring the spirits. Definitely worth a visit if you need a pie and/or a pint
C. G.
Best pie in London! I always order the same sodding steak pie, because it is just so good. Good selection of beers too, and friendly service.
S. V.
Absolutely enjoyed my meal here - their award-winning pie (I chose steak and mushroom) with a side of mashed potato. Took 20 minutes for our food to arrive (average pie wait time, I was told) and it was well worth the wait! I'll definitely be going back soon. The ambiance was a bonus too, very warm and cosy.
T. C.
Good to really good pies. Sunday roast (chicken) was good too. Fish & chips rather forgettable. Service level moderately fair, definitely not one of the worsts (and there can be plenty in town), room for improvement for sure.
D. J.
The Windmill is an old fashion pub noted especially for its meat pies. The meat pies are the reason I go there; otherwise, it's be a decent place, but essentially unremarkable. I must say that, on my last visit, the food wasn't quite up to snuff: the pie was okay if not great, but the chips (french fries, for the rest of us Americans) appeared to have been sitting out for a while, as they were neither crisp nor hot. I hope this was just a one-time miss, as my experiences have generally been very good.
C. W.
Love the secret garden, perfect for our Friday bottle of champs 👌
J. A.
Great meat pies, but loses a star for being very expensive.
A. v. d. B.
Best pie I've ever had! Affordable, too. The waitress is fantastic, she was ready to assist whenever she saw we needed something! Very observant. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND this place to anyone!
B. B.
The pie is fantastic! It is award-winning and worth trying. Could use a better selection of beer. Nice little pub atmosphere with TV screens for watching football matches. Conveniently located near Oxford Circus.
C.
Friendly boozer with a good selection of beers and ales. Nice gin terrace on the 1st floor which is a hidden delight. Specialises in pies. Certainly not healthy food but very tasty indeed! Good comfort food for winter and popular with the after-work crowd.
N. T.
A really nice find tucked away in Mayfair. Young's pub but with little selection of decent real ales. Small snug roof terrace was secluded and relaxing. Friendly welcoming staff. Will definitely return.
s. j.
great atmosphere and crowd with benefit of an outside terrace. we ate upstairs and the waiter was new and not up to the job then 3 out of 5 meals arrived cold but thankfully a member of staff called lisa saved the day with her professionalism and assistance and "smoothing". the manager offered free deserts but we declined because every pub has its bad day. we will go again for sure
F. T.
Went for an evening meal as they are renowned for their pies. It was a lovely summer's evening and we sat on the rooftop terrace.
Service was good, but I am basing my review purely on the food. I went for the special of the day which was braised ox cheek with kidney pie and I was not disappointed. The filling which was top notch was packed with big, meaty chunks of kidney juxtaposed with hearty ox-cheek swimming in a rich brown gravy. All encased in a soft, flaky pastry. Job well done!
A. E.
Great great and great! Super friendly staff and the pies are to die for! Super selection of beer too! The roof terrace is incredibly cozy, perfect to stay there and sip some mulled wine!
D. K.
We went there for lunch on a Sunday. Truly excellent pies, and the desserts were lovely too. Great range of beers and welcoming helpful staff. Highly recommended.
S. S.
1) The food for the most part was amazing. 2) The bloody Mary gave me food poisoning on my first night on vacation in London. 3) The waitress gave me my bill before I was even done my first course and she was quite brusque with me for no apparent reason. She did not seem to treat the other customers in this fashion (I think she thought I was an American) I was nothing but nice to her. I'd love to go back but all things combined will keep me away.
A. S.
Great pub with amazing atmosphere and good beer. They serve a lot of pies. Didn’t try any but will be back to get one as they looked really tasty.
R. S.
I recommend the best food in central London. Zuza a waiter that works there recommended a delicious fish pie with a camden and my wife had a delicious steak with mushrooms. We are super positive from the service provided we will be back soon.
J. H.
Best pies in London, seriously. I just visited the Windmill again and their pies are gorgeous. This visit I had the chicken, bacon and leek pie with mash and mushy peas. If you’re looking for good comfort food in the London, this is the place.
K. H.
Popped in for a quick pint after the March 26 protests; fairly quiet, staff very friendly. Good range of 5/6 ales, seemed to be well kept. Home made pork pies were outstanding, served with a sweet chutney (I forget what exactly it was) and mustard. Felt reasonably priced for the area, will definitely return if I'm nearby to try some of their 'award winning' range of other pies.
J. P.
A cosy pub with lots of space spread amongst several rooms. I didn't try the food, but my friends enjoyed it and the service was very good. Its full of local bankers and office workers along with a few older couples in town for the day, but a very well run from my experience.
A. T.
Delicious pies! I would've given 5 stars, but they where out of Shepard's pie (which was the reason why we came to this pub). Good beers, and very nice atmosphere.
A. W.
Amazing Fish Pie 🥧, very nice Staff, would definitely come back ....
P. M.
Nice, traditional pub in the West End. Met an ex-colleagues for a couple of beers after work. Didn’t eat, but the pies looked amazing. Just 5 minutes walk from Oxford Circus.
R. D.
I don't much like pies but I really enjoyed my Steak & Mushroom pie here. Beers are good and so is the service. It can get loud but other than than that zero complaints. Great spot for the price.
L. D.
On our quest to find the BEST steak pies, we found The Windmill. We had the steak and mushroom, and the steak and kidney. The crust is both light and flaky, yet firm enough to contain its contents, without being doughy or tough. The steak was fully cooked and tender, as were the kidneys; no gristle, nothing weird and chewy. Our steak pies were served with tasty fries and a mini gravy boat(!); so flavorful, with the consistency of something between an au jus and gravy (dip your fries in this, delish!). We had pints of the Camden Lager; crisp, light, and nice malt taste, no heavy hops, simply a perfect lager to accompany the BEST steak pies we found in London!
K. M.
I regularly meet friends at the Windmill for pints (they have a great selection) and most importantly, pies. Their pies are quite simply, scrumptious. The staff are always friendly and extremely accommodating - even going so far as to prepare a gluten free pie for one of my friends.
b. b.
The place is really nice and relaxing. Was there for a Xmas dinner and the food was really good. Very friendly service. Can't tell about the prices as I was invited. Why I did not give 5 stars is easy explained. As the starters was served they also served bread. We had like a really long table and the bread was only served on the opposite site off the table from where I was sitting. Just a little drop but enough to take away the perfection for 5 stars.
R. S.
Great food, and well regnised with award winning pies. Been here a few times now but last time the service was a bit of a disappointment. We went for a lunchtime meeting. Our sides were forgotten about, glass had lipstick and took asking for the bill 3 times over 20 minutes to get it.
T. H.
Lively, with lots of different rooms, up and down stairs. Friday nights fill up so our selection of pies were restricted (Shepard's pie I heard was especially delicious). Spicy chicken and chorizo went down a treat, thumbs up for the crispy pastry!
T. M.
Food not bad. The service is really slow.
S. A.
Decent pub in a great area. I'm vegan so not very many food options. Saw a mouse running around us when we were there. But to be fair the door is wide open.
M. D.
Great little boozer, nice atmosphere (even considering the current pandemic). We didn't eat, so can't comment on the pie's. Next time....
C.
I went here for a Christmas lunch and had a delicious turkey Xmas pie. Lovely staff and good value for the amount we ate and drank. Will definitely be going back for a pie soon!
L. S.
I really like this place! My friend works around the corner so whenever I meet her from work we always go for a drink here. Their little rooftop terrace is really nice during the summer and they have a great wine selection
i. V.
Such incredible value for money considering it's just off regent street! Pie & Mash with a drink for £15. Not only is it great value it's great quality! Best pie I've had in London and the roof terrace is next level!
L. G.
The Windmill is a lovely pub in a central area of London, a few minutes from Regent's street, but it is not overcrowded as those areas. The pies are awesome, the staff is great and it is definitely in my go-to list
D. N.
Youngs Pub - quite small downstairs, but nice bar with range of Youngs and other beers on handpumps - gets quite busy early evening. Upstairs is restaurant section, lovely room serving mostly pies of various kinds. I thought the steak & mushroom very good - small pie, but really FULL of meat & gravy. Lovely service too. Well recommended.
J. I.
Nice food but really expensive. £16 for a pie, then you'll need sides as extras!
J. S.
Pies are very good, fish is so so, chips are good. Service was good despite being very busy, I mean very busy. Considering the stress the staff must have been under at the time, I was surprised at their efficiency.
Worth a visit.
W. P.
Classic London pub tucked away in a side street in Mayfair. It's a Youngs pub so you are assured warm service, a good selection of beers and the food is also of a very high standard. They specialise in pies, there's about 6 to choose from on the menu (all delicious), and they've even got a room upstairs called "The Pie Room"...
Good for after work drinks as you can spill into the quiet street and there's even a roof terrace in the summer.
Д. В.
The beer was great, the atmosphere too, I liked how people were standing on the sidewalk and sipping a drink, while waiting for their reservations. The food was not so good, I mean veri simple dishes with nothing impressive.
P. A.
Best pies i ever had in London!
M. S.
Oaaaawft ! Amazing pies.
Will induce sleepy afternoons after lunch!
Great atmosphere and service.
Must visit !
Chicken, bacon & leek pie - really good. On the blackboard, not on the menu
K. W.
Great place , GUINEA 2 HAHA GUINEA JUST BEATS IT ( been there moor !!!!!) Haha, cheers
S. F.
A bit of a hidden gem, the Windmill features fantastic pies (this from a food snob, mind). The beer's well-kept and it's blessedly free of the heaving masses filling up pubs just the other side of Regent Street.
In the past year or so, they've added a nice little outside deck in the rear.
B. A.
Traveled from California and searched for the best Shepherd’s Pie in London and The Windmill came up. The Shepherd’s pie was great and Zuza, our awesome waitress, made the experience that much better!
J. H.
Young's pub with some interesting guest ales. Interior so-so, much of it looks fairly modern. I understand they are well known for their pies, but was disappointed to find out they didn't have a vegetarian pie on the menu.
This is apparently one of the favoured watering holes of Savile Row tailors, presumably even more so now that one of their other regular haunts (Mulligans on Cork Street) has closed down. I've been a couple of times now and haven't yet spotted any though.
D. T.
Vegetarian options need work. My pie was overcooked and overall tasted a bit bad. Desert was better. Waitress was friendly and pleasant.
A. L.
To the lady that was sitting in the table next to us, you have horrific laugh and it is incredibly loud and used without any proportion.
However, the burger was good and the beer served cold so what is to complain about?
M. B.
Popped in for a quick drink but would love to return. The home made pies looked delicious and was a really gorgeous traditional style pub.
B. M.
Excellent service and quality. A proper pub just a little off the beaten track.
C. M.
Lovely staff, fast service and the place is friendly and warm. Had a good experience, next time will try the pie. :)
M. P.
Great English hospitality. Highly recommend the classic pies: shepherd's pie as well as the steak and kidney. The decor of the restaurant had a cosy kind of feel. The toilets were clean.
A. C.
Best pub Steak & Kidney Pie I've found in London. And that includes The Guinea Grill (sister restaurant - but not exactly the same pie), the Newman Arms, and the famous Rules Restaurant. Love it. And keep returning.
N. D.
Great place for a drink off the beaten track of Oxford St. Great selection of lager and Ales.
Has a rooftop terrace but was closed for a private party when we visited.
Enjoyed the visit all the same.
M. D.
Another enjoyable evening at the Windmill and this time we had the service of a waitress called Maria who was very helpful and attentive , thanks Maria ✨
R. B. -. E. k.
If you want a decent pint of real ale in the West End this is the pub to go to.
Nice atmosphere and tucked away in Mill Street, a nice side road.
Great pub, very good ale what more could you ask for.
C. S.
The venison pie was spectacular, and the staff very attentive. The pub is just far enough off the beaten path that you feel like it is a hidden gem.
L. B.
Cozy pub with delicious pies! The steak and mushroom pie was so delicious!
G. S.
Firstly the Windmill serve a good pint from behind the bar and then I've also eaten in their "pie room" upstairs where the atmosphere is unique and the staff very attentive and funny... the pies. .. totally great!
N. A.
Yummy pies. Went for a family lunch, we were well served. Good serv6 and nice staff. Moderately priced.
E. M.
Lovely, traditional drinking hole right in the heart of London. Great for an after-work drink or corporate event. Prepare to queue but worth it!
J. B.
Young's beer - very nice pies. Very very nice pies on fact. Mash was a bit flat but looked good. Victorian interior complements a rather too salty gravy though.
A. S.
Fantastic pies! Not too busy, good selection of beer. Great place for a weekend lunch with friends
H. W.
Good pub in an area devoid of them. Has a roof terrace! Does superior pies! Does a great GnT...even without the gin!
R. M.
Fish&chips & Pie very good
K. C.
This is the place that serves the best and delicious pies in the city of London. They have several different pies that change every day. The Shepherd’s pie is really great and fulfilling.
M. (.
Fantastic pies. Truly award winning pies. Little on the expensive side (£13-16 a pie) but very filling. Great atmosphere and staff as well!
J. R.
Really decent pies. Really, surprisingly good. Also a nice selection of tasty ales, a little roof terrace, and a dining area upstairs ("the pie room"). Glad I found this place; I'll be back.
B. R.
Lovely pies backed by excellent service.
S. W.
Nice if slightly quirky pub that specialises in pies. Good food, promptly served by friendly staff. What more could you ask for?
T. T.
Great rooftop terrace and excellent food.
E. A.
Had an amazing experience at The Windmill, lovely design and it reflected a calming atmosphere as soon as I entered, the bar staff were extremely polite and drinks were refreshing and delicious! The perfect place to go!
J. D. S.
Delicious pies and beer in a cozy pub environment. Food is well portioned and service was good. Definitely worth a stop!
T. K.
Great pub, great service, even better pies. Found this place by searching "best pies in central london" and google hit a home run! Place was packed at 14:30 on a friday...bet well worth the wait. Staff was SUPER friendly...on top of my list next time in london!
C. T.
Courteous staff, excellent service in particular by waitress Zuza who was extremely warm and suggested us with some good options for starters and main course. Perfect place for dinner with friends.
J. H.
Nice little pub down a side road in Mayfair. Bit off the beaten track so not too busy which is good. Decent selection of beers on tap.
R. W.
Nice food, shepherd's pie and sides. Not fancy but very solid food. Only bad thing was the draft by the window so try and get a seat inside of the room.
P. B.
Excellent food and service in the new(ish) upstairs restaurant. So sad for all the staff going into lockdown tomorrow.
E. M.
Great fish pie. Ok cask beers but not the best. Nice atmosphere. Very busy even at 2:00.
D. P.
Had our Work's do here. Food was great, atmosphere amazing and the staff very friendly and attentive, especially our waitress Jess, who made sure everyone had a great time.
Y. A.
Lovely venue, amazing pies.
Ewelina was awesome, she took care of us during a particular busy day. Will recommend 100%
o. p.
The Windmill is my all time favourite pub with the most amazing pie, friendly and attentive service and a fab wine selection. I love coming here!
C. S.
Friendly pies, great Ales and like das said here before. Its like a hidden gem in central busy London. Everytime Im nearby, I Always try to get the fantastic Steak and mushroom pie. Highly recomend
S. P.
Either be a restaurant with a waiting list and you turn the tables in a reasonable time or be a pub were your customers can stay as long as they like.
Not both, that's just being greedy.
J. S.
£4,40 for a shandy...! Great pies though and decent beer. Although they are in Mayfair this was far steep. Go if you are feeling flush.
R. M.
Best Sheperd's pie ever!!!! Fantastic place nice, elegant and cosy. Friendly service, will definitely come back! Worth pay a visit!
K. M.
Excellent spot off Regent Street shopping area. Warm and inviting atmosphere and friendly staff. Great beer and food. Highly recommend a visit - you wont be dissapointed!
R. P.
Popped on our way back from the People's Vote march up Piccadilly. Lovely waitress who was most attentive, good pies and good selection of beers
F. O.
The most amazing fish pie ever .... nothing beats great service and good food. I had both here.
A. L.
Hard to get table if don't have reservation but really great pies and selection of beers. Staff nice and friendly too:)
P. H.
Stopped off for a couple of pints with professional contacts. Nice range of beers. Small inside so had to stand outside.
c. g.
Great environment, lovely staff, and perfect Shepard’s Pie
O. H.
Good solid poshish London pub. Good choice of beverages and excellent (mainly pie based) menu.
J. T.
Very good food and drink near the always crowded Oxford Circus. Nice selection of pies and some craft beers available.
P. A.
Nice busy old school London boozer. Restaurant at the back, bar at the front. Good selection of beers and was a good place to watch the footy.
S. W.
Love love this place. Fabulous food and attentive service. Would highly recommend for a nice day out for food and drinks. will Definitely be going again.
A. D.
Amazing staff, super tasty pies, a very nice atmosphere. Totally recommend it! 😁
S. H.
Great food- pies!
Gets busy on a weekend so book; tables are also quite close together
E. D.
It's rare to find such a good pies in London!!Without booking one month in advance you'll hardly find a table for dinner during the end of the week, or weekends.
W. S.
Traditional British fare at a reasonable price given that we are in Mayfair. It's a well known establishment and has a welcoming and all embracing atmosphere.
M. M.
This is a great pub. Visited at the recommendation of the concierge at the Mayfair Hotel. Good beer selection and friendly staff made for a great time.
F. S.
The food is crazy good, it took a while for it but it was a packed day (1 Jan). Nice service and beer, not a lot more to add.
k. l.
Tradition but slow
M. B.
The Windmill is a great place to visit while in London visiting or staying with friends and family. The Windmill is also nice and central to other great places to visit either on a day out or longer visits.
N. H.
Good service, decent choice of food and drink. We were crammed in with a private party which made things a little uncomfortable, and the food was overseasoned. Otherwise excellent!
m. b.
Went on sat in dec as expected main bar busy standing only staff friendly went to restaurant upstairs different atmosphere peaceful and good for couples who love pub food .food was amazing good size best meal of the weekend staff on the ball and know how to serve will be going back soon .also has outside roof bar with wall heaters

Venison special was one of the best pies I've ever had, perfectly cooked and a great balance of tastes
C. D.
Best Shepherd's pie I had in London! Beer selection was great as well.
C. B.
At the time we went, it was empty downstairs. Good drink selection, and good food. Keep in mind this is the only pub we have been to.
A. P.
I recently visited here for dinner. The food was very tasty and well presented, the service friendly and prompt in very nice surroundings. I'm looking forward to a return visit here sometime in the future...
A. C.
Truly outstanding food, in fact the best pub food I've ever tasted. I highly recommend and would advise anyone to give it a try.
J. H.
Excellent traditional pies. Nice roof terrace. Good service. Vegetarian options, including a veggie pie.
Y.
A lovely atmosphere. Amazing pie. Friendly staff. Would highly recommend.
P. B.
Great pub near Savile Row and Regents Street excellent food and a terrace for the smokers.
G. D.
The venison was disappointing, rather grisly and a lack of depth of flavour. The fish pie with mash was excellent though.
S. Y. P.
Excellent pies and good burgers. The meat quality was very good. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone
J. B.
Amazing food and great service! The waitress was super nice, helping us with everything we needed, and the quality for price was amazing!
D. V. B.
Awesome place to hang out, have a drink and a nice little pie! The price is surprisingly very affordable for the location and quality.
t. w.
Still great pies after all these years...shows good food and quality ingredients will always be a winner. A bit expensive but worth it
C. K.
Good food and good service. If you Wat to try an English pie it's a great place to visit.
C. F.
Such an amazing atmosphere! My sausage roll was amazing!
Out server Edward was great too!
N. H.
They have the most delicious pies and prices are reasonable for this area of the city. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommended!
W. d. B.
Nice pub. Had a few beers here when shopping in London. You can sit on a roof terrace outside which is small but nice in the summer.
K. C.
In my opinion, The Windmill serves the best vegetarian pie and mash in the West End. The wine list is also good. TV's available to watch sports.
A. C. (.
Really delicious pie one can have. Really crowded hard to get seat staff are friendly. Prices are reasonable
S. U.
Good food and good service. Pies are especially good
P. B.
Great food and pies (which is also food)
A. H.
Best pie I've had on my 2 week hunt for pies! The waitress was brilliant!
M. G.
Best pie's in town
R. S.
Tasty but small portion for the vegan tart. They had also run out of the only other vegan option
A. P.
Just had a great lunch - beef short rib pie and horseradish with a suet crust pasty - the whole thing was fabulous and its great to go to a pub and have a really good pint and a great pie with some table service.
J. H.
A real pub in the middle of all the high-end shops. Quite a surprise. Very full of people enjoying it, yet not over-crowdrd on a Tuesday night.
D. L.
Very cool interior. The beef and kidney pie was just alright in my opinion. Shepard's pie was delicious though!
A. P.
Great food, very polite staff. The last floor terrace made a difference. Thanks!
G. D. G.
Nicely done cocktails, goos selections of drinks. But a bit to pricey in my opinion. Specially the wine.
M. L.
Great classic British pie pub. Other menu options are good too if you don't like pie.
D. C.
Pies are really special. A must if you’re in the area and you want to try some traditional British dish
A. F.
The pies are excellent. The service was good but they didn't have high chairs, strange!
D. A.
Friendly service and authentic pies!
R. L.
Really good atmosphere, pie and ales; needs some more greenery with the pies. Lamb shank pie was a lamb mince pie. Still worth a visit.
M.
Nice pub, good food and roof terrace on the 1st floor. Staff are friendly and attentive.
S. H.
Really nice bar
Very relaxing
J. Y.
It's busy so you might struggle to find a table, but the award winning pies are most certainly worth the effort.
C. S.
busy pub.
H. H.
An outstanding dinning experience. The flavor and portrayal of pies...exceeded expectation. The Pub ambiance.... Classic.
A. M.
Tasty food and great ambience. The staff is lovely. Nice place to stay after work for a beer or a dinner.

Came back after 4 years ago for the second time and loved the Sheperd Pie and the Roasted squash salad. Beautiful.
R. D.
Perfect pie. Terrace decent for this part of town.
C. M.
It was alright, filled a hole. The waitress did a big burp. And the veggie options aren't great
C. F.
Would highly recommend, delicious food with excellent service every time. A definite favourite!
K. 1.
Quirky pub serving numerous varieties of pie, with 2 pie rooms and a pie club plus real ales.
M.
Nice food friendly and nice staff. Only down side was that had a water bottle that was dirty on the inside
W. J.
Best pies I've ever had. Good portions and good selection. All good.
D. C.
Best meal we had while in London. Amazing pies, especially the steak.

Tasty pies and gorgeous old style furniture. It's like a proper old school pub but with a modern twist
K. W.
Fantastic Pub, good drinks, great pie, excellent service =} happiness
S. R. S.
Renowned place to get pie from. If you're a fan of traditional gastropub pie and beer, you couldn't go wrong with the windmill.
A. H.
Traditional English pub but with London prices! Unfortunately didn't get a chance to get food as it was very busy but it was a Friday evening so that is to be expected.
J. F.
Friendly, nice. Only stopped for a quick drink, so didn't try the pies.
M. J.
Food was great, service was outstanding with the lovely Lisa in the pie room. We’ll be back
E. C.
The place to go for a good pie and mash. Bit too much kidney for me, but could be perfect for someone else.
N. S.
Lisa is AMAZING!!!!. Lovely terrace, good selection of beers, clean and in the most amazing location😀😀
A. A.
Busy pub with a good pie-based menu. If you like pies this is worth a visit
T. T.
Best steak and kidney pie I've found in London. Consistently excellent.

M. G.
Amazing pies and a good selection of ales/beer. Great for a cheeky boozy lunch.
L.
The best pies in London
D. M.
Superb pub in its own right, but the pie offering makes it a five star experience.
C. V.
Very nice traditional pub. Good food and excelent beer
J. Y.
The pies were very tasty but were a little on the salty side for me.
L. G.
Lovely pies ! - Great service and fab staff. Look forward to returning
C. C.
Well kept beer, pies seem to be smaller and more expensive. I find the staff somewhat intrusive.
T. F.
I agree with the below comments. Best pie I have had since moving to London. I cannot wait to return
D. M.
Chain pub with decent food, with a fair amount of space inside. Some nicer places with more character around, but it's not a bad call.
W. D.
Delightful pup with delicious meat filled pies and salads. Nice , quiet venue
C. V.
The best pie, food, drinks and service in all of London! Award winning 🥇 too!
A. B.
This place is great for pies, drinks and a good decor. Usually very busy during peak hours

Outrageously good venison pie, staff were brilliant too, again: very very good pies
C. S.
Wonderful pies. Fresh home made not expensive. Worth every penny
