Reviews of Wun's Tea Room & Bar
D. Z.
Almost didn’t go here because of the negative reviews on Google Maps, and so glad I ignored them!
This place has excellent food, excellent drinks, and excellent service, all taking place in beautifully designed surrounding in the heart of Soho. Every dish was expertly prepared and delivered unexpected flavors, with the highlights for us being the cheung fun, glass noodles and prawn toast; the drink menu was great as well and I’d welcome people to experiment with new things!
Prices were good and everything is meant for sharing; combined with friendly service and a great soundtrack, this is an ultimate brunch spot. Can’t wait to come back for cocktails!

Had a lovely dinner here with 3 small plates and a clay pot between 2. Staff were very friendly and were always there to fill up our water. The food tasted amazing, we ordered the hand dived scallops, salt pepper squid, wok greens and aged beef neck claypot rice. The cocktail menu was also really interesting! Would definitely recommend.
S. H.
Great staff and very friendly service, there when you need without being overly keen. Had a relatively limited choice of cocktails and drinks but they were all original and interesting and delivered with aplomb. We ended up here unexpectedly and had a really good time. Nice atmosphere and seating areas, didn't get the tea unfortunately but lots were there for it. A bit pricey for cocktails, beers were bottled not draught.
K. U.
Really fantastic restaurant with a unique menu, offering Instagrammable dishes. We went for the weekend brunch and it didn't disappoint. The only thing was that the portions were small so you end up ordering almost everything to share between you. Can't wait to come back for cocktails another time soon.

The interiors make it here for me!!!
It’s so funky and retro, I love the style down from the neon lights to the plates.
HOWEVER service was terrible and to be honest the food was nothing special, OTHER than their pork (pictured)! I went for dinner, and I understand that the brunch menu is a lot better, and popular.
I wouldn’t rule it out, and I would give it a go for brunch, but not in a hurry (food account: @diningnotdashing)

I went with some friends for drinks and the tea experience. It's about 12 pounds for unlimited tea (one type). You get to choose your own tea cup. The water and tea does get cold really quickly so it might be that the teapots can be refilled more often, or in some houses there can be electronic individual kettles at the table. The bathrooms can also be cleaned more regularly.
We didn't have any food but I've heard great things about the food. Will be back to try

This is one of my favourite restaurants, the clay pot is amazing, I dream about it when I'm not there.... They also have some extremely delicious drinks, the Winter Melon tea is like nothing I've ever tasted before & some super fancy smokey cocktails. The decor is really beautiful there's always a great atmosphere & friendly service. Love it!

We didn't have a reservation but were lucky to get in as a walk-in. Service started out a little bumpy, but after an ice breaker, we had a great evening. The food was delicious and drinks unique, the Bartender clearly loved what he was doing.
Z. E.
Had a lovely brunch with a friend here. Food was good and tasty, although some a little oily for my taste. Also the description of the dishes before we ordered were a bit vague, so we didn’t really know what we were getting. Service very good and extremely friendly. We sat upstairs which was brighter, downstairs was quite dark and probably better suited to an evening setting. Overall a good experience I would recommend.
J. A.
Really enjoyed brunch here! The downstairs is a lot more spaced out than upstairs, which is great. The staff were a pleasure and very attentive to the table.
The dishes themselves were delicious, especially the HK French Toast - I did thing the food was a tad too oily, however.
B. H.
Incredible decor and even better food.
Wun's offers amazing brunch food to satisfy all cravings - savoury and silky eggs with char siu, and sweet and smooth HK style french toast. Drinks at Wun's are also incredible, the HK style milk tea and yuenyeung were delightful.
If you're in Chinatown and want some brunch, look no further than Wun's!
J. K.
Love the atmosphere, service was pretty good. Food was yummy. I would definitely recommend the Iberico Char Siu, pork skewers, and Fried Chicken (in that order). The drinks didn't really bang, but definitely worth visiting.
G. K.
This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool, the staff is also really friendly. The food is absolutely amazing ,cocktails wow. Highly recommended.
c. m.
The place is super cute. Really nice interior and lighting very quaint and instagrammable. However the food was a big let down, the fried chicken was so greasy and oily, I couldn't finish my plate which is a shame as it was £8.50 for the small plate, the pork was unavailable so we chose the squid. Honestly some of the worst squid I have had in my life tasteless, rubbery, no seasoning, thin and £9.50 to boot! Drinks were okay nothing special. Nice atmosphere and attentive staff but that's it.
M. B.
Great service for the brunch menu. Enjoyed the main dish which was pork, egg and rice in a clay pot. The prawn toast was a good side dish however the potato rosti was dry and had no flavour. Would return to try the evening menu items.
C. L.
Delicious cocktails, tasty food and a great vibe. We were given just an hour and a half to eat but service was quick enough that that was ample time
D. I.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Soho. The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! Staff are also great and always efficient, happy and polite. Can’t wait to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
L. C.
Ordered the beef claypot rice and two drinks.
As a Hongkonger I saw they serve Hong Kong style food and drinks, so I felt excited and hoped to get some authentic dishes here. The rice itself tastes not bad, but it's not as local as I expected, eg it's like they just put the rice in the pot instead of cook it in there. But it's a great place for Instagram photos though!
L. Y.
Delicious food! Make sure you book. Great vibe downstairs. Food is quite oily though. Only one toilet cubicle, quite a long queue!
C. B.
Best Cantonese food in London!
Date night with my boyfriend and we went to try this treasure restaurant in the heart of soho. Lovely staff, friendly and efficient. Incredible food, the best Asian food I had in London (must try the fried chicken, iberico and the scallops). The drinks are great especially the fig & gin and lemongrass and roses (lovely served in a tea pot) my favorites. The atmosphere of the venue, the service and the food gave us a beautiful evening. Absolutely recommended. I'll be back for sure!
A. P.
We had a lovely evening here. Drinks were pretty good, food not thaaat impressive but it’s still fair value for money. Service is very kind and attentive.
C. L.
A must go for Canto-style cuisine. Every dish was a winner, we had the scallops with glass noodles, crispy duck, char siu, and skewers, but a personal highlight for me was definitely the clay pot rice, the beef neck was so tender and flavourful 🤤 great selection of cocktails as well, the pandan lychee was phenomenal 😻 Hong Kong style milk tea was more on the milky side so would’ve preferred the tea to be stronger but all in all everything was fab. Staff were super friendly and provided us with good recommendations based on our personal taste. Will be revisiting soon!🌟
A. P.
Context: We were lucky to get a table on the spot at 7pm on a friday. It was in the doorway so we were quite cold but the staff was careful not to leave it open too much. If you book there is a large room downstairs.
Food wise: so good! We shared fried chicken (generous plate) beef fried rice and matcha deef fried milky rice (5 stars for this one!) and had non alcoholic drinks that were really good (a tea and a milk tea)
Overall : perfect for drinks with little plates, would really recommend, booking makes the difference for the table!
A.
I hadn't been there since before the pandemic and you can tell there's been quite a few changes. The vibe isn't the same as it used to be, it used to feel more like an experience to go there. Now it almost seems to be like any restaurants that have a nice setting. However the cocktails are still really nice, and unlike any I've ever had before. I got the Pandan & Lychee and I haven't stopped thinking about how good it was. The food was also very nice, I wish it had a few more vegetarian options. I was at the restaurant with my boss who wasn't the most polite to the servers but they remained very friendly to us. I will definitely come again!!
L. L.
The Lychee cocktail is so good! We booked a table thinking we could sit in the main bar downstairs but were told we were unable to, so only stayed for one drink because there wasn’t much atmosphere upstairs and it’s quite small. I could have drank these all night though!
D. B.
The food here is incredible. Not too many dishes on the menu - which is always a positive, in my humble opinion - and each one is a sure fire winner. Red Mullet in Szechuan Pepper, was the best fish dish I have eaten all year. Well worth a visit.
G.
I have been to Wun’s tea room Tree times, and I am please to say that I was Treated extremely well.
The waiting staff was very cordial and friendly, specially for Paulo the manager.
The menu is great and the food quality is superb.
I will definitely go back for more.
I did recommend to my friends.
Z. E.
Changing my rating to 4 stars after returning three more times. The staff is running much more smoothly now, which makes for a far better overall experience. Well done!
M. S.
We enjoyed pre-theater dining in the very small upstairs bar area as the larger downstairs didn't open till 7pm
. Tables are very small in this area which makes it hard to eat at as it's more of a drinking environment.
Food ranges from outstanding to very good but clay pots are very over priced. Chicken and prawns were best on the menu and good value
M. C.
Amazing foods and drinks. Highly recommend the Iberico Char Siu and Hand Dived Scallop with Wild Garlic Butter & Glass Noodles!
i. c.
Nice atmosphere, the staff is really kind and professional, they explained to us all the dishes to help us deciding what to choose to eat. The food was amazing, especially the fatty iberico pork and the red mullet, very delicious. Also the vegetarian pot was really good!
T. K.
Came here with 3 friends and had such a lovely time. Great atmosphere and just a comfortable to be. Service was very professional and they made our time there relaxed and enjoyable.
As for the food, everything we had was so good! We didn’t have everything off the menu but we did have the beef neck bowl, mushroom salad, scallops, charsiu, pork ribs, chicken. We had more but that’s as much as I can remember. I loved the pork ribs, we also ended up ordering more of the chicken, that was an all round favourite. Definitely going to take more friends here in the future. Also forgot to mention that my friends loved their cocktails! Many thanks WTR CREW : )

This is the best Chinese food I've ever had! Great chef and services
L. B.
Food was fantastic but service was mediocre. We had a reservation and showed up a few minutes early, the hostess seated us at a very small table by the stairs where my partner kept getting hit in the shoulder by passing staff. We were able to move to the tea room downstairs where we ordered a delish rose and lychee cocktail and lucky Buddha beer. We ordered two lamb skewers, the scallop and glass noodle, the wok greens, and beef neck clay pot. Everything was going well, the tables to our left and right got seated while we got our food. We finished our drinks and still no clay pot. The table next to us ordered two, ate them and left while we waited. We asked about it and were told it's still getting ready...being brought up in the restaurant biz, that was BS , they forgot. After we finally got our clay pot we got the bill only to find a £5 charge for still water?! Who still charges for water. I honestly didn't have the time to argue because the staff was already getting criticized by the table next to us for charging £6 for a tea pot "refill" which was just hot water....no tea. Anyway, the food here was very good but unfortunately they were clearly very disorganized...
J. B.
This was my second time visiting Wun’s and yet again wasn’t disappointed, the staff are always friendly and the food is delicious. It is a great place relax with friends and enjoy the amazing cocktails they serve.
A. T.
Nice foods and drinks, definitely try the Iberico pork. Food doesn't come with plain rice which is unfortunate as some dishes would be much better with rice, like their fried chicken. The place is normally busy in the weekend so booked ahead to ensure a table.
E. S. P.
We visited on a Thursday night and had a lovely experience. Initially, we were accommodated upstairs - however, feeling the atmosphere would have been nicer downstairs, he asked if possible to change table and staff was super friendly in this regard!
We ordered a few beers and a tropical Mojito (delicious!). As for starters, we had the bone marrow, served with some lightly sweet bread (amazing!) and the fried mushrooms, which were the best dish of the whole evening (a must, you need to order those!!). As for mains, we ordered some pork with rice and the dumplings. The presentation was lovely and unconventional. These dishes was absolutely fantastic, nicely presented & prepared and super tasty! Finally, we order some ice-cream coupled with sweet wine: overall, I believe that desserts are a bit overpriced (we paid 5.80£ for a very small scoop of ice-cream, which was disappointing in flavour & texture - I would discourage from ordering this).
Finally, service was quick and staff responsive to our requests. The atmosphere was also very authentic, with soft green lights and making us feel to be far away from London! So, my rating is overall 5 stars - although, I'd recommend working on desserts to make them as special as all the other dishes of the menu! 😊

Great food
Tiny place but super authentic
Good service
Food was tasty and really nice! The duck dish and chilli and salt squid were amazing! Would go back! Oh and nice cocktails too! See pic!

Upon arrival we were greeted by the lovely Nana and Rui, who checked in on us throughout our time there and made sure we had a wonderful experience.
We had the pork, prawn and scallop toast, and the Hong Kong toast for brunch. They tasted amazing, the portions were great, and the atmosphere was lovely.
M. T.
On the ground floor, in the first part, there is an environment with a street view where approximately 15 people can sit. The lighting is pretty good. Spacious. When you go downstairs, there are neon-lit writings on the wall. Its light gives excellent energy to the environment. so this is the second part. This floor is just below the ground floor. You go downstairs. There are crescent-shaped tables. This is the 3rd part. Finally, at the very end of the basement floor, around the corner, there is a tiny place with four small tables, and this is the 4th section. Where should you sit? I think if we rank from best to worst, 1 part is the best. The second part is the most beautiful part of the basement floor. Part 3 is average. The 4th part is close to the WC and is flat. I also suggest a meal; Iberico Char Siu, spiced sugar skin. it was so yummy
M. H.
I honestly really loved the deco, the idea behind this tea room and the food was actually quite yummy! But I just couldn’t give it a 5 stars because it was loud, we barely heard each other, our orders were really slow and we got the wrong ones… so since we could only keep the table for an hour and a half, it was difficult to finish our meal on time, and that was a bit annoying. I’d recommend for a non-busy day probably for the food and the drinks. But avoid Friday night like I did:)

ENCHANTED VENUE, AMAZING STAFF!!!
This week I visited this beautiful restaurant with couple of friends and I have been immediately surprised by the beautiful retrò and bright venue. The food is very tasty and the attention to the details seems a priority due to the high quality standards. Staff was very friendly and extremetely polite, the service offered is even better than expected. Definitely will be back there soon as I fell in love with one of their drinks containing Lychee.
r. a.
Wonderful, amazing drinks (very strong and worth my while). Try the maiju shots they are incredible. The ambiance is impeccable and the staff is friendly. A delightful night out.
M. L.
Very impressed with the food and cocktails. The char Sui belly pork is one of the best Chinese dishes I’ve ever eaten. The service was ok, polite rather than friendly and if they had been more attentive we would have ordered another cocktail half way through our food.
We ate there early evening so it would be unfair to say it was lacking in atmosphere. We didn’t go downstairs to the Tea Room.
I’d go again.
H. Y. W.
We saw great reviews of Wun’s Tea Room and Bar from Asian foodie group about their French Toast so we decided to give it a try. We were there on a Friday night at about 6pm and the wait for a table wasn't too bad.
We found that the toast is from their brunch menu, which was only available on weekends. We were kind of disappointed but it's totally understandable and the mistake was on us. We decided not to have dinner there due to limited options on the menu.
We asked for check for water they already served and even apologized to them. However, the staff was pretty rude and impatient about our leaving. We felt offended and regretted about paying for service tips on our way to other restaurants.
K. B.
Divine food! The char siu was succulent and sweet like I remember from Hong Kong. The pandan-lychee cocktail was so fragrant and morish, I could have drank litres of those!!!
The staff were knowledgeable about the food and also had a few laughs to spare 👌🏽
And on top of all of that the interior design transports you into a forgotten era of time. Very special!
A. F.
I've been here twice, once for brunch and the other time for dinner, and I really enjoyed the experience.
They've got a very authentic atmosphere of traditional Cantonese tea house dining, including the inner decorations and cutleries used. Good and attentive service by the team there, and I like the fact that they are very digitised for the overall customer experience. For example, their online booking system was easy to use and smooth in communication, their payment system was intelligent and user friendly, and there are even sockets around the tables so people could use to charge their phones etc.
The food was delicious, some might be a bit too salty or sweet for me personally but this varies from person to person. Overall, I would really recommend to give it a try.
W. L.
Decent food, if a little basic. Quite expensive for what you get. Drinks were ok but not exceptional (I had the pandan old fashioned and it tasted over-diluted).
Service was good and staff were very friendly.
B.
The food is nice and the staff is friendly and inside looks nice.
But,
It’s very overcrowded, to small tables for groups bigger than two and the music (Only Parov stellar) is to loud. Only one menu have to be shared by four guests and the staff keeps interrupting while storytelling. Next to that the portions are very small, none of us four where even close feeling full and the bill was just over 120 Gbp.
Nice to be able to say I have been there but I will not be coming back.
P. B.
Very enjoyable lunch here. Slightly over ordered for two.
Hits: the ibercio pork, the noodles ( broth was excellent) and the tofu
Okay: the white bait
Miss: dumplings (didn’t taste of much)
Small venue, so reservations recommended, not ideal for large groups though there is one big table at the back that would be good. Decent beer selection and lets just say some interesting tasting fruit teas (a lot of tang).
Would go back just for the iberico pork and the noodle dishes.
K. B.
Really delicious food and great service - my boyfriend has a nut allergy and the staff could not have been more considerate about pointing out the items on the menu we couldn’t eat. Char Sui pork was divine as were the wok greens - these were the menu highlights for us but the salt and pepper squid, padron peppers and fried chicken were also delicious.
G. G.
We were sat in a quiet area in the back of the basement floor which was nice and intimate. It was way too cold inside though! The dumplings were excellent with their crispy layer. The char siu was a bit too fst for my taste but went very well with the rice bowl. The robata was very tasty and nicely grilled, and of great value! The server that took care of us did not know the menu well enough to answer some of our questions but nontheless a delicious meal!
A. L.
The sugar char sui was delicious! The peanut salad was okay, would have preferred a side of pak choi or greens. Also had a couple of gin cocktails. I came just before end of lunch so wasn’t busy and service was great. Would recommend booking if you’re coming after 6pm as people were being turned away.
C. W. W.
Love it! The first time I walked past this place I knew it was special. Think Dishoom but Chinese version and it's really on par with ambience and food.
Wun is really special when you walk in you immediately travel back to old Hong Kong/Shanghai in a right way. The menu is traditional but with a modern twist approachable even for none Asian, friendly and welcoming. Vegetarian friendly.
From the menu I highly recommend the fried mushrooms, chicken and lamb skewers and the iberico pork clay pot finishing with a sweet mango sago.
Highly recommended visiting if you want Chinese food with some good ambience. Good good good vibes.
M. N.
We went here on Valentine's day but stuck the a la carte menu (as opposed to the set Valentine's menu which seemed quite expensive albeit filling). Food and drinks were excellent and ambience was nice. Highly recommend the wok-tossed corn ribs.
V. N.
Amazing vibe and ambiance - almost as if you're stepping back to 1950s Shanghai. The food is faultless with a wide variety of small dishes such as smoked duck and peppered steak to Iberian pork clay pot. And every single dishes taste amazing. The cocktails are also unique with a delicate Asian twist, and there were speciality beers shipped from Hong Kong to try out as well! All in all 5 Shanghai stars!!
S. T.
We went to the Tea room for having a quick drink before dinner time. Downstairs, there is a nicely decorated bar. The tea ceremony was good. It came with a nice pot of refillable water, pot of tea, filter pot and cups for sharing with friends. The flavour we chose was florals. It was rich in taste and smell. The cold tea cocktail we ordered was in rose flavour with a foamy surface. I think the foam was too salty like coconut milk. It was not a good idea to mix with tea cocktail because the salty flavour made the tea flovour disappeared. The meat skewers was served very slow. We almost finished the tea. The black Sichuan beer was rich in flavour with 8% alchohol, we like it. Overall, it is a nice place to have instagram pics .
N. P.
I highly recommend this place! All the food and drinks we ordered tasted amazing. A bit pricy but oh so worth it!
The ambiance was cool, with green neon lights and few wall lamps lighting up the dark underground tea room. The tableware also contributed to the whole cool atmosphere. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I thought they managed the busy period quite well!
We had the Iberico char siu silky egg clay pot XO fried rice and HK crumble top brioche omelette butty from the brunch menu. The portions sizes were huge! Though pricey, definitely go for the fried rice. Worth every £.
We also ordered the milk tea and a pot of rose tea. You definitely want to try their tea. I thought the rose tea flavour was nice and gentle. Save up some tea to accompany your dessert though. The tea and Hong Kong egg tart goes really well together.
Last but not least, the chairs. Some of them looked more like little lounge chairs and at first it seemed a bit strange to have these here. Fast forward to the last bite of your fried rice, you're full from the generous portion. You're sipping tea happily. And then you finally lean back, satisfied. As you lean back, your stomach relaxes and expands. You realize now there is room for dessert 😂 bring on the egg tarts!
B. W.
Small but an amazing menu, the food was all delicious. Service was quick and incredibly friendly. Highly recommend
L. H.
Great and amazing bar!!
We finished our dinner at Bun House and went downstairs for some drinks. The cocktails are creative and amazing. Almost the basic wines for the cocktails are Chinese alcohol. Also, you can even order some traditional Chinese food here. I really love this bar!
M. P.
Great tea ceremony options for the day, and cocktails for the night.
The basement bar has a cool retro Hong Kong vibe.
F. B.
Chicken, scallops, pork and beer - all excellent stuff
Staff very friendly as well
L. T.
The Pandan & Lychee is absolutely delicious! I personally love pandan desserts and lychees, the combination is a masterpiece! The Date & Barley is very smooooky, as you can see in the video! 👌🏼👌🏼
The restaurant/ cocktail bar is very Hong Kong style, reminiscing…
M. A.
The tea room is one of 3 restaurants by the Bun House. Although they don’t sell buns (you’ll have to walk 3 mins to the new Bun House shop), it has an interesting old Shanghai prohibition style concept serving traditional chinese foods done with a twist.
The drinks menu was quite extensive with interesting cocktails and mocktails. The claypot rices were also delicious - especially the aubergine one! The iberico char siu was also good although a little fatty.
Overall, would definitely recommend the restaurant. We topped it off with an egg lava Bun from the aforementioned nearby Bun House.
A. Y.
Expensive compared to Chinatown average, but the barbecue pork is very good. Excellent if rich or feeling rich. May feel hard done by if on a budget.
S. W.
I’ve been here twice and both times have been a really nice experience for me and my friends. Excellent service and the food was really yummy! I highly recommend the fried tofu, dumplings, fried sweet corn and the lamb skewers. We loved the atmosphere, it was like we had gone back in time! Would definitely come again :)
E. S. N.
Awesome little place to get a few drinks and chill! Make sure you get a table downstairs the decor is fantastic.
Gets quite busy on a friday night so best to book in advance. The Jujube and Ginger cocktail is quite nice and the food is pretty good. Highly recommended little place!
P. J.
Delicious Cantonese restaurant. Sugar-crusted BBQ Iberio was wonderful. Friendly service and great food.
A. d. T.
It's the details in the end.
The drinks menu presented as a newspaper along with the feel, that aside the drink choices were fantastic and perfectly mixed. I would recommend the brulee egg, saying anymore would ruin the surprise. I find it hard to imagine making a incorrect choice with the food with the vast drinks selection you will always find a pairing. If in doubt the staff are there to help. Enjoy yourself go here.
H. C.
Food is so delicious. Nteno is a great Waiter. I loved the cocktail. I will come back
A. H.
This place is super cool. Steamed buns by the masses on the ground floor and a new recently opened tea room downstairs. We went for brunch and we're not disappointed. Amazing dishes, especially the French toast and creme brulee eggs so make sure you give them a go. It's a speak easy 1960s Asian/American mash up dimly lit and full of character. Give it a visit.
K. N.
Very delicious, authentic Cantonese-Shanghainese cuisine. Very inventive cocktails too with hard to find ingredients but a tad pricey.
N. B.
World class Chinese cocktails, amazing moody 1960s Hong Kong ambience. Cocktails are like nothing else, almost unique outside China, feel is like being in a movie (by Wong Kar Wai – In The Mood For Love), and food is delicious, especially the Iberico char siu!
T. M.
This is one of my favourite spots in London. I've been there a few times over the last two years and it has never disappointed. The atmosphere in the basement is the best, with a 1950-60s style, green neon lights, Chinese music from the same period and newspaper style menus. I went back recently (eating outside due to covid) and discovered that the menu was entirely different. Despite not being able to order some of my favourites (fried mushrooms, aubergine rice pot and dumplings, above all), I was happy to discover the quality and variety of the food as well as the accuracy of presentation hasn't changed. Cocktails are also very creative and beautifully presented. Service is friendly and helpful. Prices are quite high, especially if having a drink or two, and that's the only reason why I don't go as often as I'd like to. Nearby Bun House is also great.
I. S.
Have discovered this cool bar by chance while popping to use the toilet from the Bun House upstairs. Chilled vibe, themed & authentic decor. Loved the Juke box music mix & the old newspaper style menus. My "Daikon & Bak Choi" cocktail was strong & surprisingly pleasant. Friendly & helpful staff.
L. S.
delicious food and really nice armosphere
G. R.
Atmosphere really nice, feels exclusive and cool. Extensive cocktail list. Food is great, we accidentally ordered way too much meat! All delicious but definitely ensure you have some sort of veggies as the meat is super rich 🙌🏼
H. M.
The tea there and desserts are very delicious. Everything is high quality. From design of the menu and interior to the tea ceremonies and flavours. The staff is very friendly and polite. I love this place 10/10 would recommand.
K. A.
This is a gem. Enjoy a fabulous dinner in an unique environment. A mood is created by bubblegum Chinese music and the neon signs. The food was flavoursome and staff were friendly too. Highly recommended.
A.
I visited this amazing place year ago and then could not find it, until tonight. It’s super cozy and the food is fabulous, we shared the Chicken Kung Pao and after the first taste we had to order a second. The spare ribs were full of flavour and the meat was so soft.
Staff were welcoming and helpful. While there we got to watch as they assembled this amazing cocktail that was put under glass and filled with smoke. It smelt amazing even at our table.
150% will return now I know where this fantastic place is.
C. M.
Lovely little place. We sat upstairs which was a little squeezed but downstairs where the actual tearoom is looked great. The food was absolutely delicious!!

Great buns! Quick service and convenient. Would recommend the pork and the custard bun!
If you book downstairs in the tea room however, keep in mind that the menu is different and you can't order the buns.

Had a great time with some friends on my last holiday to London
The drinks and coquetels were superb with great team working upstairs and downstairs of the restaurant
The location is walking distance from Lecester Square tube station or Piccadilly Square just in the heart of one of most well know area of London
The food was amazing with a great choice between meat to vegetarian options
After the dinner we headed to few doors away to carry on the night in wonderful Soho Vibe, I'm so looking forward to come back to London and can't wait for another divine Dinner at my favourite city and my favourite restaurant
M. C.
Absolutely unreal food and loved the cocktails too. The iberico char siu is a show stopper
J. D.
Was surprised by all of the 1 star reviews. Absolutely undeserved in my opinion. This place was a wonderful experience all round. Staff were lovely and attentive, food was amazing. Cocktails were astounding.
This place is not cheap but nowhere nearby is either. If you're coming here for cheap soho garbage, you came to the wrong place. Expect amazing food and the price that comes with it.
P.
Came here twice - enjoyed both my experience. Highly recommend their Pandan & Lychee Cocktail and Fig & Gin.
B. R.
Definitely try and check out the tea room. They do reservations but we were able to get right in. (Party of two makes it easy).
Outstanding service and great cocktails in a cool vibe. We didn’t try any food but it looked tasty.
E. K.
What an wonderful atmosphere !!!!
Food and the staff was really great ! We got to try almost all the starters and a few mains and were so tasty!! Definitely have to go back there!
H. M.
Such a cool unique place. Lovely staff. Amazing decor especially downstairs which is based on the Wong Kar Wai film, In The Mood For Love.
C. C.
We went there by accident... It was raining .. every other bar was full so we end up there... It was the best by accident... None from our group been there before so it was our first time.. the place seems small on the ground floor but there is a big basement downstairs. We went for a drink there.. I was happy to know they could still serve some tea unilke most of the places if you end up once hour before closing... My friends tried some beers which were fruit and nice and myself a green tea. Typically flavour but the tea set was worth it... We order few desserts pana cota and fried pan bums with custard which were so good.. I highly recommend this place.. didn't try any food but hopefully we will next time cuz it seemed delicious.... The staff is great too ..
C. F.
Neon slime green cocktail den down the side stairs from Bun House. Cool cocktail menu with super inventive cocktails with Asian ingredients or liquors. Not cheap at £13-16+ but a quid off each cocktail from the front page. Great place to impress dates or friends. They can call you if there’s a wait.
d. b.
Great tasting HK food! Prices are alright for London standards and the decor of the restaurant is very cool :)
M. C.
Been a couple of times - AMAZING!
I would suggest the tiger leaf salad, fried chicken and cumin lamb.
The menu changes a lot, the decor is amazing, and the food is full of brilliant flavours.
W. R.
Excellent food and pretty well priced. There is only one white and red to choose from and they are quite expensive at £38 for the bottle. Easy to over stay your reservation which is a shame so you will probably get asked to move on, which is understandable just be prepared for it
S. C.
A great unique experience which is a hidden Soho gem.
Everything from the menu has been imported from China to add the level of authenticity. There are certainly some things on the drinks menu that are an acquired taste but equally some very nice ones. The food is simple but in a good way with portion sizes to allow you to try different dishes. The atmosphere is very casual with what I can only imagine is traditional Chinese music from a few decades ago.
Would want a big meal here but great for some drinks and light bites.
A. L.
Goes beyond the memory lane of most who's still alive to visit this establishment. Lots of effort put into making this retro 1930s Chinese/Hongkongnese 茶餐廳. Really interesting though and glad we visited.
R. T. C.
Great experience and so tasty the food, Never been desappointed and staffs
always friendly helpful and ready to serve, the vegetarian choice is amazing,
Mixed Mushroom, Chinese Celery, Yolk Butter Claypot Rice, so far if you are vegetarian is so far the best i ever had, me and a friend had a table upstairs when we went for the first time and i had no idea how great was downstairs
Amazing place is so romantic too, really 5 stars and super high Recommended , The drinks and coquetel are simply divine, Oh Lord I am so looking forward to come back with my friends for another night out in Soho again and of course back to Wun's Tea Room & Bar
R. L.
Atmosphere: 3 stars - good decoration, but don’t let people go downstairs for some reason. Also the seat space is really small. Really hope they can improve.
Service: 2 stars - Low attention. Placed wrong order
Food:
Satay beef noodle- 4.5 stars. Very tasty and authentic. Took 0.5 stars off because of overpriced. Not worth ~ $12 gpb
Milk tea- No star. No tea favor nor milk favor. The Hong Kong style milk tea across the street at Longji is way better and half the price!
Yun Yang (Milk tea mix coffee)- no star. same as above.. feel like it’s made by a lipton teabag and half shot of coffee mix with hot water. Can’t believe this level of drink can be sold here..
A couple items on the menu are “sold out”, it’s 12 at noon ...
L. Z.
Cool place, really traditional HongKong Bar & Restaurant. Food & Drink are both nice. Not busy. However, even it’s a same restaurant with the ground floor Bun shop, u cannot order and eat it inside.
C. T.
Fun cocktails but pricey. The food was great and better value, especially the fried chicken
K.
Great place. Went for dinner and food was amazing
N.
Food was excellent and the service was wonderful, my criticism was that the tables were slightly uncomfortable due to the size of our group
L. G. B.
A theatrical, Hong Kong retro future cocktail bar with beautiful hand crafted cocktails. The service was fantastic and the drinks were killer. Would be five stars except for the security guard was insistent I was intoxicated (I wasn’t) because of “the look of my face”. My partner did not share this same look, apparently. After a bit of negotiating he finally let me and my partner in. Much to my and my partners embarrassment he then followed us down and spoke to the server after we were seated. I asked the lovely waiter what was said and he explained the bouncer thought I looked drunk. Thankfully the server didn’t agree and we were able to enjoy our time.
A. M.
Great trendy place. Speakeasy but still the music is a bit loud. Loved the lardo rice and the custard bun!
T. G.
Unbelievable experience!
By far the best craft cocktails we have ever tasted in uk, let alone soho, the staff was amazing super professional and friendly,
the downstairs bar Is total hidden gem with Incredible decor and music and combined with the mouth watering food with jaw dropping cocktails made for perfect night.
Prices are a little high but you pay for quality and it’s 100% worth,
Over all 10 stars ⭐️
Thanks to the Wun’s staff for a amazing priceless experience.
T. C.
I had the most amazing time in this restaurant the food was amazing and the drinks was fabulous.. thanks for the kind attention. 100% recommended.
C. S.
they don't serve the steamed buns from the bun house upstairs, so do make a quick stop there but the drinks here were creative and surprising with lots of interesting infused liquors and baijiu cocktails, and the ambience fun, quirky and chill - great place for conversation with your delicious drinks.
A.
Nice place to visit, friendly staff. Food was lovely but pricey for the portion size
T. K.
Not to crowded and in a very convenient place… nice drink menu and staff☺️
S. M.
Amazing food and cocktails! The char Sui was the best I’ve ever had, selection on the menu was great. We had a lot of the dishes and all of them were knockout. Cocktails were delicious too, and the staff were great. Would absolutely go back and can’t wait to.
J. L.
We only had 1 drink in the bar downstairs, but the playlist was God-awful. Took me back to freshers week and terrible backpacker hostel bars - zero class.
If they had a curated playlist then I'd give it a better rating.
I will come back though, as I've heard the food is great
V. P.
First of all I have to say the decor and styling of this place is so fantastic, it really feels like a old HK style tea room. Downstairs things get darker and more neon but its not a loud or overbearing vibe, its just right. All the small plates we got were excellent, I'd particularly recommend the cumin ribs, the iberico char siu and the trout tartare. Thirdly, the cocktails were great. Our lovely waitress Luu helped us find our favourites and she was so friendly. Honestly I can't wait to come back here and take literally everyone I know here! For three people, we each had three cocktails and smattering of about 5 or 6 food items and the bill came to around £75 including a 12.5% tip which imo is more than reasonable for what we got.
R. M.
Only went here for drinks but there was just a group of 3 of us girls and some guys came up to us in the night trying to chat us up and the staff were amazing at making sure we were okay! Had 3 people come out on separate occasions to check on us and make sure we were okay and not being bothered by the men, absolutely love any bar that looks out for women like that!
L. Y.
Hidden gem in soho
Everything worth it : the food is good fresh and tasty
The drinks are their speciality
Great range of typical Chinese liquors and cocktail
The music is really cool he decoration and the atmosphere is great
Service can be improved
A. G.
Probably the worse cocktail bar in that street, but still extremely high standards. Bespoke cocktails are pretty good, albeit expensive, and they have unique spirits, but don't ask them a bog standard gin Martini with olives because they won't do it. Also service is so painfully slow, my Martini got to me luke warm. I would take Bar Termini and Swift over them every day and every night.
G. I.
Nice atmosphere with the life music, good food. But seats were very uncomfortable, with awkward arrangement of higher and lower chair. Service is nice and helpful but forgot one dish, cocktails are not worth the price and taste watery
F. L.
Food is like tapas portions, didn't know this and was expensive per plate so didn't expect this either. Tasked okay though. Cocktails weren't tasty so didn't make up for the small portion food. But good atmosphere and nice location
T. T.
The food is great, service was top notch and the restaurant itself is beautiful inside (however we dined outside due to covid). As a Hong Konger, I really appreciate that they elevated classic Cantonese flavours and ingredients but still kept the integrity of HK in the dishes. I think the menu could do with a few more carby items. The tartare and char siu were my favourites.
G. W.
Great cocktails, really fun vibe. Food smelled amazing (wish I'd've eaten here too!). Service was friendly and fast. Highly recommend
F. J.
Came here for a quick lunch - the hand dived scallop with glass noodles were incredible and the curry ribs were amazing too. Would definitely go back and try more on the menu!
C.
An incredible place, lovely atmosphere, very profesional management...great food and definitely in love with the drinks..highly recommended !!
M. M. D. C.
Love the atmosphere of the bar downstairs. I'll definitely be back to enjoy some of the great cocktails they offer.

A nice little venue with a basement area serving typical Hong Kong/Singaporean staples.

Disappointed after the glowing review by Jay Rayner. The Char Sui items, for which Wun’s has become famous, were all sold out, as was the duck. We were only informed when we sat down and had already ordered drinks. The dumplings were good as were the sardines. The aubergine rice was very tasty. The ribs too sweet for our liking. Overall food was decent but service was very disappointing. Bone marrow failed to turn up, it took forever to attract any of the staff’s attention and the orders took an age to arrive. This place has a lot of potential and can clearly be good on its good days, according to other reviews. But this evening also showed it can be inconsistent and disappointing.
J. C.
The portions are small and the flavors aren’t top notch. However the environment is fantastic and the staff are very friendly.
M. G.
An amazing little hidden gem. Did not get to try the food, but popped in for a quick cocktail with a bestie and they were #delish and very strong 😶
Will defo go back, it's a place that transports you away from London into a magical pocket of interdimensional space.
F. T. (.
Splendid old Shangjai style interior, Vinyl jukebox, Musical selection suitable for any new Tarantino movie, excellent Cantonees dishes, friendly staff, restrooms worth visiting.
N. K.
Waitresses not very attentive at all. Seemed moody. Drinks were ok very expensive for what it was.
C. A.
Great food. Though the milk tea was very weak and the ice watered it down quite a lot.
E. S.
Love this place. The atmosphere is lovely. Staff is friendly and service is good. It's a bit pricey but not more than most places in the area. Went for brunch and got a waffle with a perfect egg and some delicious char siu. The ginger bubbly is very nice as is the tea. The monkey beer is a favourite of ours as well. The mushrooms are a delicious appetiser for dinner. Good veggie options.
S. A.
The maiju shot is delicious, as well as the other cocktails. Worth the visit!
P. A.
Really good tea and super friendly staff!! Cool atmosphere!
A. L.
Lovely place and atmosphere, adorable servers really caring, interesting beers selection and happy hours deal. And most importantly, unforgettable desserts. Can't stop thinking about the custard bao bun. Excited to come back soon to try the main dishes. ☺️
A. C.
Amusingly authentic HK period decor combined with solid Cantonese cooking make for a fun experience. Watch out the loos see through to each other!! Lol
M. H.
Had great expectations for this place, but were disappointed with overpriced dishes and cocktails. The dishes were good, but just tiny for the price. We (2 people) spent close to £90 and really didn’t see much for it. The service was average. The place itself is quite nice, especially the downstairs area. Value for money is not there, so would not go again or recommend it.
A. H.
Interesting place interesting concept. Very retro and modern at the same time. Good chilled place for drinks
Y. X. (.
There’s not much selection of food and cocktail. But the taste are good, will recommend the char siu and scallop.
S. K.
The Iberico rice was my absolute favourite salty dish from what we ordered, followed by the mushroom snacks which definitely surprised me in all the good ways. I was't the biggest fan of the ribs as I got the one which was chewy somehow, but my friend loved it! We only too it as another dish we wanted to order, was unfortunately finished. I am not a huge fan of skewers, but again my friend was all happy about those, so I think it really comes down to personal preference here. And now to the best..won't be liked by many.. But the fried milk was heavenly! And if You find the waiter dancing, You are ought to a good night :)
R. O.
Mostly style over substance. The reviews below are all, to some degree, accurate. The char siu tasted good, as did the sardines and the aubergine rice, but it was only after we had ordered that we were told the duck wouldn't be available. Service is clearly an issue, though everything was kind and polite. Be aware, the best dishes are only available in the evening, and if there are only two of you they will try to seat you upstairs first which is cramped (and they will try to give you an excuse as to why you can't sit downstairs). Reasonable food, but quite pricey obviously. Worth a go, but I wouldn't make it a regular thing.
F. B.
Service not very welcoming but overall a nice place. The tea was good and the sandwich was the fattest thing I have ever eat but tasty.
W. L.
Cosy speakeasy vibes, delicious cocktails incorporating Asian ingredients like baijiu, shaoxing wine and Nin jiom pei pa koa amongst others
D. S.
Excellent atmosphere and aesthetic. There is a really interesting collection of cocktails and they have stayed true to their theme with good music and a great design to everything.
The food is very good after 5pm with a wide range of cocktails. The cocktails were not quite as perfect as I had hoped with the mango lime and rice cocktail being a bit overpowering whilst the mint sichuan sour was a bit watery. Other cocktails were very good such as the basil cocktail and the pear cocktail.
Did not get a chance to try the baijiu alone but I look forward to it next time I visit.
J. M.
Amazing food with great service. Will definitely be coming back 👏🏻
b. l.
Great Food & Service,
Will Definitely go back and strongly advice anyone to.
K. K.
Awesome food, drink and atmosphere. Definitely somewhere to go to chill intimately with friends in an atmosphere not choked by excessively loud music
L. Y.
Very creative tea cocktails and actually authentic canton/Taiwanese food. Wouldn’t say that the portion is generous but the whole dining experience was great. However I do miss the Bao shop- only place in London that did genuine sesame buns :((
J. B.
Good food, mediocre cocktails, and fairly poor service. They were nice enough but we were waiting an awfully long time for our drinks. We had a selection of food - the char siu pork rice was delicious! But personally, I'd find somewhere else to eat next time.
J. C.
Gorgeous setting, meant to mimic the old Hong Kong style restaurants which is 90% close to how it was like. Foods were great and the cocktails are quite enjoyable as well. Staff were very polite and patient. Sitting can be comfy or not depends on what seats you've got from the receptionist. The only thing is it's rather pricy and as a Hong Kong people, that milk tea (silk stocking) was far below average.
T. M.
Amazing place, friendly staff and incredibile food. I'll be back!
C. R.
Amazing cocktails. Delicious char siu
C. B. K.
So cute and wonderful place and takes me back to the lovely HK 1940-70(?)s style.
Went for cocktails, so will update again coz I really want to get some food there! Cocktails were good and because it was a Monday night the place was quite (so perfect for a date) though would like to go with friends too.
Chicken skin was on their menu 🤤 Hope they have it on my next visit! Sorry but people who don’t like perfectly roasted/crispy chicken skin... You’re missing out!
Love the way we pay the bill- they had you an iPhone and do it electronically.
Only downfall was the staff (4 of them) were too busy chatting that they didn’t realise we were staring at them and waiting for them to look over for 5-10mins.
p. b.
I went on the strength of a review by Jay Rayner - this one :
Sugar skin ibérico char siu” (£14.80): the shoulder of that finest of fine Spanish pigs, seasoned with honey and five spice and red fermented bean curd and soy and hoisin sauce and slow-roasted so that it’s crimson like a traffic light, a little bit blackened on the edges, sliced into fat strips, the meat smoky and tangy, the yellow fat so sweet and sticky and buttery smooth, plus that toffee apple-style sugar carapace … Deliriously good. Nothing could possibly go better with piping hot green tea in a corner.
I was not disappointed! Lovely food and friendly staff. Excellent.
K. M.
Great Food & Service,
Will Defiantly go back and strongly advice anyone to.
:)

This place has a great menu. We went during the soft launch and I was thoroughly impressed with the atmosphere and drinks selection. The staff were super friendly and helped a lot with the menu.
I will say the drinks are pricey for cocktail rates but I'll leave it to you to decide if it's worth it!
E. B.
We were celebrating our Xmas party here in Tea Room last week and it was absolutely great experience. Dumplings and skewers are best as cocktail offer too! Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Jacob who was taking care of us all night! Definitely worth a visit!
A. H.
I and my boyfriend loved this place. We went on a Monday afternoon and there were only 2 other couples there so it was nice and quiet. The atmosphere was relaxed and due to the decor, dim green lighting and soft Chinese music, it was like going back in time.
Food - we had the Iberico chai sui pork belly, peppered beef pieces, a chicken thigh skewer, a pork skewer and several cocktails.
The pork belly was one of the best things I've ever eaten in my life, each piece was utterly delicious, crisp, melting fat, sweet smoky flavour and delicious soft pork. It was served with sticks of melon, a perfect palate cleanser. The beef was a very close second to the pork, extremely tender and very rich and tasty. It came with chopped spring onions. The skewers were both excellent, full of charred barbecue flavour plus another rich marinade. To finish we had the butter buns, something I'd never had before and really relished. Similar to a scone in flavour and texture with a decadent slab of butter in the middle.
The cocktails were the best we've ever had. We tried Kumquat and Wormwood that contained Kumquat dust and absinthe foam among other intriguing ingredients a banana one that was a beautiful smoke grey colour and came with a metal drinking straw - that was mine and one more mango one. They were £13.50 each but if you're going to pay for cocktails in Soho you may as well pay a bit more for these ones that were delicious, beautifully presented, unusual and very alcoholic.
Service was perfect too. Highly recommended.
Not cheap, the bill was £97, but was worth it.
R. G.
The service and atmosphere is great. It is a cool place to go. However, the food is just ok and quite expensive for the portions. The beer is also quite expensive at about £5.80. They did not have any regular tea that I could see. Try the chicken wings if you go and the mushroom skewer.
A. M.
Went to the tea room for a quick dinner before heading to a show. The service was a bit slow and dismissive, but the food was really tasty! The leek skewers had a surprising kick to them and the dumplings were cooked perfectly!
I can’t wait to go back and try the bun house 🤤
J. L.
Good food, good ambience.
A. y.
Always a pleasure to be here. First discovered this place last year with some friends and have been coming back here ever since.
Most Asians can related to the deco, Wall art and even the hosts uniforms. Its very nostalgic, almost bring you back to the 60s.
I'm usually back here for the food. All the dishes are worth a try. Here are some of my favourites:
1. Dumpling
2. Three Treasures
3. Iberico pork (with or without rice)
4. Duck
5. Pineapple bun
6. Chocolate bun
Cocktails here are definitely different, almost like an acquired taste. Best to seek the hosts expert opinion before you order. It's blended with a mix of Asian liquor and preserved fruits that may not be everyone's favourite. It can some times taste a little herby, almost medicinal. It's something I as an Asian can associate with, but it's probably not everyone's cup of bevvy.
Otherwise it's worth coming here for the experience. Super chilled, very green room, great for groups and it's spacious enough that everyone has enough room and privacy to have a good chat.
A. S.
Great place for late night drinks. The menu is extensive and very creative. They have either Chinese cocktails or European/American cocktails with a Chinese twist. It is a great place for a first date. Thank you Wun’s!
D. D.
What an odd, but interesting lounge. It's hidden away underneath a Chinese bun restaurant. The drinks menu is bizarre and eccentric... That's putting it mildly. Be careful what you order from the drinks menu, because some cocktails are just undrinkable. Didn't get to try the food, but it looked delicious. Although the drinks are pricey and weird, it's worth the visit to experience the strangeness.
W. H.
Lunch/brunch food options at weekend are quite limited, that could be why it was very quiet. Still there were wide range of drinks including special tea, coctail and wine, looks like a fusion with south China, Malaysia and Singapore. Food portion was crazily big.. And taste comforting.
N. D.
We went for HongKong brunch special menu and we were not dissapointed. Portions were big and very tasteful! I havent eaten similiar food in London. We had discount so we ordered a lot of food and their french toast was amazing! Cocktails were decent as well.
T. L.
Extraordinarily good food and well constructed cocktails in an evocative venue. Service is excellent, prices are high.
K. C.
Went pretty late, around midnight. Had plum wine. It was lovely although could be served in a different glass and especially sizewise. Chilled place. Friendly staff. Next time I go will try the food.
K. N.
I wanna big up our waiter Daniel for his chill, super helpful and discreetly attentive manner.
Beautifully lit, char sui the best we'd ever had, intriguing drinks. They work hard to create a mood and do a fantastic job.
Thanks again, Daniel, you're the best! :) :) :)
J. H.
The best custard buns in town by far! Lovely restaurant with beautiful interior and design a true representation of a Hong Kong tea house. Good selection of ales with imports from Hong Kong also. Very quick service and friendly welcoming staff, a must visit.
J. L.
Came here for lunch and tried the clay pot pork & clay pot aubergine dishes. Yes, they both tasted great but, seeing as you can get equally tasty but cheaper clay pot rice dishes in nearby Chinese restaurants, I found it a bit on the pricey side.
Summary: tasty but overpriced
j.
Usually quiet in the day and early evening, makes a great place for meetings or casual catch ups! Good menu of drinks and food/snacks, just that it is rather overpriced. Service has been a bit and miss over the past year as well. But overall great ambience and location :)

An incredibly creative selection of cocktails with traditional Chinese ingredients and spirits. With equally special and authentic food that go perfectly with the drinks. PLUS the retro 1920s shanghai ambience. A rare ‘oriental’ (pardon my colonial language) gem in the heart of London. Perhaps my favorite spot in soho.
L. H.
Loved the theme this place was going for. Nice tapas options for your drinks too. The cocktails however is not as good as I thought it would be. For a place with good music, good décor, good food the drinks were very disappointing. Order anything but the cocktails and you should enjoy yourself alot.
J. L.
The menu is great and food is delicious. But both times I've been here they've messed up our order and on my recent visit messed up the order for both the tables next to us. Its a shame as the food is unique but they really need to sort out the kitchen
M. E.
I came here because of a video I saw on Facebook, it was also my first experience eating buns. The staff was very helpful and suggested buns, eventually I have a pork bun and a CUSTARD BUN (AMAZING). It was such a great experience that I went back the following week! Lotus crisps and the pickles are reaaaaaaally good as well!
*TIP: I suggest to have the custard bun the last one, more as a dessert.
L. V.
Really impressed with the quality of food here - Cantonese flavours were spot on. Best char siu in London (rivalling some top ones in HK). Interesting use of baijiu in cocktails too.
J. W.
As always an amazing and attentive service. The food was impeccable and the cocktails innovative and multi faceted.
I live for the newspaper menu and the beautiful interior.
Top!
D. Z. M.
I was surprised how big this venue is actually! Upstairs is a chilled tea room whilst downstairs there's an amazing bar-restaurant, cool interior and design and the server who helped us was just incredibly helpful, friendly and funny too! Loved it!
D. H.
Fabulous fantastic food. Craveworthy in the extreme. Great cocktail program too.
D. M.
Delicious Iberico pork that’s worth going there for but don’t expect to be impressed by much else. Service is as you would expect across the road in Chinatown... meaning it’s virtually non-existent and Wun’s isn’t cheap. Not tempted to return anytime soon.
E. C.
Despite having a 50% off voucher for my meal, I still found the Tea House quite expensive and I had to ask several members of staff for chopsticks and tap water which was off-putting. I'd be keen to try the Bun House however and see how the custard bun measures against A Wong's.

[Alternative: Opium Soho] Wonderful, classy atmosphere with 1930/40s green retro lights, interesting foods and many young, attractive people.
PROs
+ proper tables
+ not cramped as The Experimental Cocktail Club
+ well hidden: without internet you'd walk past this because it's in the basement under a restaurant
+ very lovely stairs
+ quite exciting atmosphere
+ beautiful interior design and decoration
+ polite, skilled, professional and well-dressed staff
+ no riff raff and people in flip flops
+ great for dates
CONs
- difficult to find seats
- long waiting in the queue
- hardly and space at the bar to enjoy a drink standing
NEUTRAL
- 2 hours at the table like a restaurant is fifferent to classic cocktail places because it's actually 50% a restaurant
C.
Great food in a vintage atmosphere. The rice wine is also worth trying. The only downside was that the service was a little rushed but friendly nonetheless. Definitely book a table beforehand.
J. D.
The Lunar New Year food was fantastic. All of the cocktails I had were extremely delicious. I had 5 different ones and tasted the ones my friends had. I suggest them all.
J. c.
Unexpected to go downstairs in the basement of a lovely Chinese tea house full of Chinese which is always a good sign. . It's pretty small so they space we was in was snug. Food was good atmosphere and service great
s. a.
I loved the place a lot. Food and coctails are awesome. But the Manager was shouting to the water in front of me. That is not nice. Everyone can make mistakes. You should not shout at people to warn
J. L.
Very nice. Try the West lake green tea.
Y. C.
Buns are very fluffy with really tasty and flavourful fillings in especially the lamb and the beef! Would defo go back to this dainty places for some quick buns and Chinese small plates!
S. S.
Delicious food and cute decor, especially downstairs. However it is quite expensive, especially the cocktails at £13.50 and the service could've been faster.
J. C.
One of my favourite places to eat in London. Amazing food, friendly staff
M. T. P.
Food is decent, drinks are pricy. Some staffs are a bit impolite though some are nice. I expect more from a fancy place like this.
D. N.
The white tea was great and food was delicious. Pricy though. Nice atmosphere but the giant green neon sign was blinding us and made reading the menu very difficult.
C. R.
Make sure to get a seat downstairs as it feels just like being in a Hong Kong cocktail bar. I can recommend the char siu pork and the rice bowl was great too.
J. Z.
Stunning decor, and such incredible menus. Too bad it's some of the worst cocktails I've ever had (please do not order the Bitter Melon and Gingseng cocktail)
s.
Actually surprisingly great food and tea. Also downstairs seating with better vibe. Would def come here again or recommend to anyone in the area!
F. A.
The clay veggie pot was tastey enough... The Halloween sweet bun looked good but not tastey... Service was non existent... Staff walk around like zombies with zero eye contact to grab their attention... Food is very expensive... Unlikely to return
L. G.
The food and cocktails were amazing. The services was superb.
Y. K.
Quite good with nice cocktails and very polite and helpful staff but a little bit overpriced.
L. T.
Great food and drinks - the claypot rice and sour plum drink were especially good!!!
D. A.
Did not try the cocktails, which seemed the main specialty. The food was okay, but my dumplings came cold, which was quite disappointing.
K. T.
I found this place on Instagram, apparently it is heaven for IG addicts. So yes, I only went for the pictures. Really nice surprise, the food was delicious, tea just yummy.

Pleasant but way too expensive for what it is. Signature drinks are original and oriental but not especially memorable. Food was nice but equally ordinary.
R. T.
Entrance is down the door immediately to the left of Bun House along Greek St. Very cosy atmosphere, really imaginative range of drinks and the music is always great (like a Chinese sort of bossa nova/jazz).
L. C.
Food is fantastic here. Service is so so - so note that waiting time for food is fairly long. Decor is nice and try the drinks as well!
A. S.
Charming old school Chinese decor and atmosphere (the menus styled as old fashioned newsheets are a nice touch), but it's just a bit overpriced for what largely tastes like comfort food - sticky rice and noodle dishes, heavy on soy and sugar, which you could probably make at home or get elsewhere in Chinatown for less.
M. T.
It was a great late night snack after watching Aladdin. Try their custard bun! The filling is so runny and it taste super delicious!
T. D. H.

Drinks were innovative if a bit pricey, stocked a good Mao tai 13, the food was excellent and authentic, but sometimes they have trouble with flies
E. S. M.
Great cosy place for catch up and meeting friends. Great tea and drinks. Haven't tried food but looks great
Y. L.
Great bar snacks - good enough to give most dim sum places a run for their money, but the Chinese themed cocktails are trying too hard and simply do not work
L.
delicious

Came here for the brunch menu, it was excellent! The cheung fun dish is a must order. The prawn toast and chasiu egg fried rice were also delicious. We also ordered the HK french toast with peanut butter which was tasty but was very extremely decadent/rich.
The atmosphere inside is very nice and comfortable in spite of the small size of the restaurant. We went on a sunny day, and they had opened out the patio doors to the outside, so it was extremely pleasant :)
d. m.
Great tea
P. D.

(Translated) A very charming place, the staff is very friendly and they try to understand you with whatever you ask them. We booked a table for two through Google, and it was a very good experience. We had Scallop, Fatty Iberico Char SIU, and Chicken with Slightly Spicy Batter.
I have to say that everything was delicious, but the chicken, spectacular, the best I ate. Good value for money, and the area to go out after, the best.
Special mention to the charming waitress who served us, a blonde girl, with an eternal smile.
Thank you very much to all!

(Translated) Upon entering, we see a small room (it's relative) with a few tables and a relaxed atmosphere, a tea room. And then as we were in the evening and about to eat, the waitress leads us downstairs, into a total other world !!
The lights, the paintings on the walls are great and very much alive.
The food is great, there is everything and it is served quickly at an affordable price!
Just awesome!
