I went on a Sunday and of course ordered a Sunday roast. The good thing about eating in pubs is that they don’t charge an extra fee for the service, you just pay for the food and it’s much more practical because you just pay as you would in McDonald’s and then get your food. I ordered a beef sirloin, which was £14,99 and although it was a bit dry by itself, the sauce made it so much better. Everything was good, I would recommend you to eat here. The cashier told us the burgers and sandwiches were pretty good as well but I wanted something traditional.

I’ve walked past this pub for many years but had never visited until today. To be honest its name and proximity to St Paul’s Cathedral put me off, as I wrongly assumed that it was a tourist place. Really friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. A much bigger space downstairs although closed on a quiet January afternoon. Loved the huge wooden balustrades that dominate the street level bar area. A Greene King pub but I was happy to find Timothy Taylor Landlord on draught. Even a garden out back - a rarity in The City of London. A hidden gem in plain sight!

This establishment is exactly what you want. The environment is friendly; you can make a good mate or two in Ye Old London. The staff are the best. Ask for Maeve, Ian, Julia or Edward. They'll be more than excited to serve you with a perfect drink. Thank you to all of the staff, I will definitely put this establishment as my regular. Love you all

Nudged in part by the Owner, I have given this pub 5 stars because it was the only 'Watering Hole' of any character, brave enough to be open! Courtyard out back a hidden gem. Great beers. Great food. What's not to like.

A great traditional London pub with a nice welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. The meals were excellent, a steak pie and a chicken and mushroom pie and the chips were golden and crispy, not pale yellow as you so often find in pubs. I had to go to London again today so went back, my sister had the Hunter's chicken and I had the fish finger sandwich. Both were excellent and again, the chips were good, and a decent portion size without being too much. The prices for all meals and drinks are good too. Heartily recommended.

I love this pub for all the usual reasons but I am also fascinated by the massive wood work on the staircases and in the large downstairs bar. I have never seen anything like it but it is worth a visit as it is so unusual. Don't know if it is really old or not? See for yourself 😎

The prices are good. The guy who served us upstairs was super friendly and just lovely. We went downstairs and it all went downhill from there. I ordered food, 1 veggie mac and cheese and 1 with bacon, i was told there was no bacon, so i went no worries just 2 normal mac and cheese. 1 hr later the food came, the girl brought us 2 mac and cheese with bacon!@@@!. I said to the girl you told me you didn't have bacon, she said i know!@@!. I said you know I'm vegetarian i told you i am vegetarian. i can't it that, she smiled and nodded and said i know I'm taking it bcak to the kitchen!!!!. Another 25 minutes later, after my friend had eaten all her food. This girl with blonde hair slammed my plate in front of me, no apology or nothing and with a tiny small piece of cold garlic bread!!@, that being said the mac and cheese was nice but the experience was weird and stressful. My friend ordered a glass of prosecco and got half a glass. we went to the blackfriar pub after that, which was a much nicer experience.

Insanely expensive for drinks. Added a star purely for the reply! Ideally I'd never like to visit London again if that's the prices. I'm a country girl and work in a country pub where we charge 6 pounds for 2 bottles of cider so yes the 11.60 was a massive shock. The garden was alright not the same as the lovely pub gardens we have here though. Service was with a smile even though I almost fainted when he told me how much!

Great location close to St Paul Cathedral. The pub has seating downstairs as well. The decoration are interesting. The food is proper and comes quite fast. They have a good selection of drinks, including mulled wide during winter days. The staff is friendly and ready to help. As a minus I would mention the small number of tables on the ground and they don't have child seats at all.

It's OK, improved a bit in atmosphere and cleanliness since I last visited several years ago but the layout of the upstairs bar still feels very awkward. There's a big pillar bang in the middle of it that just seems to be in the way. Staff were a mixed bunch tonight, one friendly and helpful, the other was surly and unwelcoming. Pool table is a welcome addition from my last visit. I'd have given 2.5 stars if possible.

Great beer not a stone's throw from St. Paul's Cathedral. They do decent food too and you can see your live sport downstairs. I keep coming back here as it is a step away from the Club Quarters Hotel where I usually stay when in London.

This place has huge rooms with proper air conditioning and the waiters have been really friendly. The prices are high, the food was disappointing. Burger was fine but they didn't give us a coleslaw (because it was not ready yet) and when we asked for an replacement we got some really old, sad looking rubbish salad.

Visited London for work and went for a few drinks with friends after the event finished. The pub was just a few doors down from the hotel I was staying at. All in, a nice little pub and reasonably priced at that. The one thing I'm marking this down on is the ridiculously small unisex toilet they have. Now let me be clear, I have absolutely no issue with unisex toilets, it doesn't even register with me. What does bother me is having ONE toilet with two cubicles for both floors of the pub, which was substantially busy for a Thursday night. In addition, the cubicles were so damn small that I couldn't physically open the door to get out without standing on the toilet itself. So, go for a drink and maybe some food with your friends, just be prepared to hold it until they get bigger / better toilet facilities.

Wish I could give it 3.5 stars as it's a great location near St. Pauls but the decor does need a bit of an update and the "Beer Garden" was more of the "Beer Basement" - Gardens normally imply greenery. For a pub advertising traditional cask ales, I'd expect a bigger choice and not 3/1 ratio of largers to ales.

A bit of a mixed experience here. Despite being greeted swiftly, and appreciating the pub layout with its old dark wood pub vibe... we were a little disappointed with this pub. Mainly due to the drink offer advertised outside which drew us in that we were told after sitting down didn’t begin until tomorrow. The 3 of us felt a little cheated. Despite this we had a relatively pleasant time in this pub which was very quiet on a rainy Monday afternoon.
