Great venue for traditional pub food and interesting selection of small plates. Strikes a good balance between those who want to come simply for drinks and those who are dining. Also plenty of outside seating for the summer. Service was good. Pub is starting to look a little tired in places - could do with a bit of TLC but not bad. Plenty of parking at the front and side of the building.

We popped in here for lunch after a nice jaunt along the river at Teston Country Park with the dog. This pub is dog friendly which is ideal for where it is. Nice meal, nice cosy decor and lovely surroundings.

Sunday lunch,I had the beef 2 thin slices cut the same so not had cut, and it had a £1 supplement, I have had better and more at a number of pubs for half the price, some of the veg was wonderful others very poor and cold, I gave it 3 star for the staff and the place but the food and for the price I paid let it down.

From the moment that we walked in until the time that we left, we couldn’t have asked for more. The food was lovely and the service experience excellent. As you will note from the photo, we had our granddaughter with us, who decided it was time to eat too. Not a problem as we were given hot water to warm a feed. What a find! The pub we were going to was closed, so my mate suggested the Bull! Great choice of drinks, excellent layout inside and massive outdoor area. The food was the right size to fill up on both starter and mains. I had the prawn and calamari starter, both delicious and cooked properly (not chewy) and the breaded/battered pork belly (absolutely delicious and tasty) with a vegetable patty. Excellent quality food. The staff were friendly, helpful and served both drinks and food promptly. Highly recommended social food and drink pub to frequent.

Took my family here for a celebratory birthday meal and had a great time. Nice clean pub with friendly attentive staff, good food and pretty reasonable prices. The fries here alone are reason for coming - best I’ve ever had. Only thing I’d say is the desserts could be a bit more generously portioned, but still delicious all the same. Really appreciate the clarity on the menu in terms of providing for gluten free and vegetarian/ vegan customers. Definitely will come again!

I gave 5 star because the staff were friendly and polite. The only thing that puzzled me was the entrance where the table booking plinth was. As a large family arrived there was a long delay blocking the door so to leave it took a long time. Outside in the garden adjacent to the pub was a small gate which led to the front of the pub. Why wasn't it the exit ? There is a perfectly good reason and I'm being petty . I definitely go back.

Myself and my family were there last night, we had a 1 year old with us and they provided a high chair and got him his food first as he was hungry as some of our group was running late! The food was delicious and cooked perfectly! The staff are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble! The menu is good and the serving sizes are decent, especially the chicken club sandwich (Available before 5pm only) and fairly inexpensive. Good selection of beers "coming soon" the last few times I visited, but not yet on tap. Service is friendly and polite, if not lightning fast. Cheers!

This is a lovely pub, bigger than you think, with more dining seating down some stairs. The food was really tasty, well cooked and not so much of it that you are overwhelmed. A phenomenal place to eat & drink, fact!! Went on a Thursday evening, advertised locally as Grill Night and wow!! Food was amazing, a special deal on rump steak dinner was available for £7.99 but let me tell you, even paying full price you would say it was a bargain. Service was efficient & friendly whilst the pub/restaurant was clean & tidy whilst still keeping that village pub look. Cosy and snuggled is not usually terms you would associate with a local village pub but this is the case. We came on Easter Sunday, they didn't have an Easter menu (Which is a shame) so had the Lamb Shank, followed by Crumble of the day, food was really nice although we had to go to the bar to order our pudding as not many staff about. Lovely pub to eat in, as it was hot weather most people were in the garden so the pub was nice & quiet.

Great staff and really lovely pub. Garden is big with loads of tables and heaters. Nice big car park. Its dog friendly too. Food was delicious, good portion sizes and they have a good selection of veggie and vegan meals. Highly recommended, will be returning. Unfortunately not a good standard the starters prawn and lobster cocktail very mediocre. The rib eye steak was so very very tough unedible, after telling the waiter about the steak and asking him to tell the chef not a thing was done about it we will not come here again.

Recently refurbished historic pub. Parking available in front. There is a nice garden with seating with views across the Medway valley. The food we ordered was good, came quite quickly and not over priced. The beer selection wasn't bad but fairly standard. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nice to see a lot of the historic features have been kept.

Friendly staff, half decent food. It was good to step inside from nasty cold, wet, weather. Would have liked to have tasted a few more ales but we were told the bar had been booked for a private function, so we left right after eating as we were the only people in the dining room. Might have given the establishment one extra star had the function not been in the public bar.

Newly refurbished, smart and modern looking. Food is good, just wish they didn't use frozen avocado. Good selection of beers, some ciders and wine. Service good at the bar. Waitress slightly unprofessional in being too friendly (we don't care where you live etc.) and never told us what the chef's reply to frozen avocado was.

It was really nice, well priced for the quality/locality. Most important were the two young waitresses (blonde and brunette) who were very friendly and welcoming. Lovely, friendly staff. Comfortable and relaxing, but my food was poor. I had the nut roast which was actually stuffing with some nuts on top. Tasty, but not nut roast. The roast dinner accompaniment was floppy parsnip, soggy roast potato, nice mashed potato, chewy Yorkshire pud and some nice boiled carrot and brocolli. We ate about 6pm and I guess the food had been sitting around for a while then went soggy when they microwaved it. I suppose I chose badly from the menu (which was very limited/unimaginative for vegetarians). My friend said her wagyu burger was good though.

Would of gave more stars but was a bit let down with the food, Lovely place went their for drinks and sat in the beer garden one sunny day and me and gf said we come bk again for a meal, so we try booking table on the web site and didn’t work, so called up and said can we book a table and the young lady said they are very busy and so she said they not taking bookings and just to turn up, so we turned up and spoke to the same young lady and said there r no tables available but when looked around we saw there was some tables with no one sitting at them so the lady just left us and carried on then we saw a man behind the bar and ask can we have a meal at one of them tables and he said yes you can seat there and eat but will need to come to bar and order which was fine by us, any way food came over I had hunters chicken and girlfriend had lasagne mine meal was like a kids meal and only had about 10 chips and chicken was small as well, and for nearly £10 I expected more. And my girlfriend meal came with garlic bread and it was so over done and hard you could do damage with it.. but the lasagne was nice and she enjoyed it, but as A good will we got our first drinks free as a sorry for the food which was nice so apart from the food the pub is lovely place and is nice to chill in the sun.
