Me and some my friends went to eat here, after finally deciding to attend because always going past and saying one day I will have a meal here. Plenty of parking and would be good place for lunch or summer because you see more of it when there is plenty of light. Prices are reasonable and arrived on time, ordered a whiskey which tested the waiter a little as they don’t get too many orders of it compared to your beers etc. They reasonably friendly however, when I ask for a bill. How long should I be waiting for the employee to come back and let me pay. I have never understood this in hospitality, I’m not asking for the bill to look at it for x duration of time. I want to pay and do something else

Staying in the Orida hotel this pub 5 mins walk away, had 15 plus meals there in the last month. Everyone of them was first class a fast, professional and efficient service. Was a nice surprise to get this quality of food at very competitive prices. Will be going again several times as working in the area for another two weeks. Well done Newnham Court

We came here on the off chance today and were very pleased that we did. We got served straight away and were shown to our table by Vivien, who was polite and courteous throughout our visit. Went to Newnham Court Inn for the first time this week. We had 11 people, meeting there for a double birthday celebration. All of the meals turned up together and were hot and cooked to our liking. we don't seem to get that when we go out! The service was good and the waitress Carys was very friendly and helpful. We will be returning very soon. Highly recommended

My first visit. Had the lunch menu, with coffee ended up having 4 courses and every one was lovely, the food was hot and tasty and only came to £38 for 2 with a soft drink as well. All the staff were polite and friendly. A great little pub, booking highly recommended as it gets very busy.

Just been in for a meal. Everybody moaning about change of menu and prices well up. Understand price rise but doing away with popular dishes is a bit suicidal. Poor staff are taking all the flack. 4 couples today said won't be back. Such a shame. Bosses management best review this.

Popped into this pub for lunch and chose fish and chips with mushy peas. Staff behind the bar weren't very friendly or welcoming at all, but the food was good. Tartar sauce came in a wee pot with cracks and chipped around the edges - a germ haven. Cutlery weren't too clean either. But the food filled a gap and I was happy to get on my way again. I won't rush back!

Nice food though portion size was a little small for my liking. However it was cooked nicely and hot. The staff are a little abrupt, but they are still warm and welcoming. It's very clean, including the toilets (bonus) and recommend it for whoever is in the area. I must add that the roast beef dinner was big and did look delicious 😋. Must try next visit

Staff are very friendly and accommodating, however the food is at best sub-standard , as a place to go for a pint it isn’t horrendous but you would be better stopping in grove green Tesco for a meal deal on the way home then eating in.

Three of us ordered the same meal, Hunters chicken and we all found it so overcooked that we were unable to cut it and had to ask for steak knives which didn't really improve the task. Inedible and will be a while before we return to this pub.

Great dining space. Such lovely staff, friendly, helpful, approachable and smiled the whole night. The menu is a good size plenty of choice. The food is good, surprisingly good, I say that because the prices are really good, when the price isn't off the charts you expect some sort of compromise with the food but it was good. Hot and tasty. I'd go again in a beat. I'm probably going back sooner than necessary.

Server Alex was friendly and patient as well as attentive. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals but the vegan menu is poor. Asian burger, Asian burger XL, Asian burger solo, Asian burger solo XL. ??? plus a salad and a beetroot steak. Ultimately that's a choice of 3 things. The menu also said they did vegan onion rings but they don't. On the whole, a nice evening. But you get what you pay for. Yes, remove the 4 basically same vegan options and replace with alternatives.

Excellent value for money we had breakfast with Santa today with our daughter , son-in-law and our two grandchildren , they loved Santa chatting with them he even know us grandpops and nanny from when we was little 😘 how cool is that , book and take the kids there to meet Santa seeing the kids faces light up when Santa comes in absolutely priceless . Had their 13oz rump steak, properly cooked medium rare with virtually no fat or gristle (which you often get with a rump) Small side salad had absolutely no dressing at all which makes it very bland Chips were fine, cherry tomatoes fine, breaded mushrooms good. Not bad, food was cold. Waitress polite and helpful. I know staff have a distance to travel from kitchen to table, so wouldn't it pay to have plate covers to help keep food warmer. The chips I was served were really inedible and some some so overcooked, do they really have to be cooked so far in advance.

Friendly staff. Lovely food. Only thing I had a problem with was the lighting. Not enough of it. We had a light over the table but not bright enough. So ask for a table near a window if going there during the day. Other than that a great place to go.

I haven’t visited here for many months due to a previous bad meal but I heard there was a new manager so thought I would give it a go. I’ve visited 3 times in 2 weeks and the food has been amazing for the price. Much improved. Chef has to be commended. I especially loved the fresh pineapple slice on the gammon. Fajitas are amazing. Sweet potato fries brilliant. 3 course lunch for £7.49 is excellent value for money. Manager was present each time I visited and is very hands on. I’m visiting again on Tuesday and looking forward to it. New manager has definitely improved this venue, hope more people visit as it is such good value. Going back Tuesday and looking forward to it

We had a nice mid day meal here, the Covid arrangements in place were well organised. The food was freshly cooked and really nice, staff really helpful, polite and responsive. I'd probably prefer to go somewhere that didn't feel so much like a chain in general but convenient location and not too expensive.

Stumbled across this place after having driven around to find a nice Sunday pub lunch. Waitress Alana was also helpful and attentive. Nice atmospheric place, good for families. The Sunday roast was delicious! There was an option to upgrade to a bigger plate which my partner went for. He was so full, he couldn't even manage the dessert so he passed on even looking at the menu!

Stopped in for breakfast. Very quiet with mainly only staff there. First impressions were that is was nice, however, I would suggest that hearing the staff talk about how disgusting the toilets were a day or so ago was probably not the best. Food was reasonably priced and served quickly, however we did not get the black pudding on any of the big breakfasts. No explanation or reason given for this, which was a shame as the rest of the food was very nice. When finished and sitting talking whilst drinking our drinks, it felt like the staff were waiting for us to leave. One member of staff looking over at our table 3 or 4 times, which we found a little off putting. For a drop in as somewhere to go, it's fine. But if personally think twice if youd made a trip here or for a booking

Went because of Eat Out To Help Out. Was really impressed with how well they had everything organised re COVID-19. Staff were welcoming and attentive but not overly so. If I had one negative thing or feedback it would be perhaps to have reduced the large menu choices and concentrate on making sure there was plenty of things on a reduced menu rather than spreading themselves too thin trying to cover so many dishes. My sister had to make second choices on mains and desserts because they had sold out. These were popular items so goes back to what I said about smaller menu but lots of each item. That said, they did so well in these strange circumstances.

Stopped here for lunch the other day and sat outside in the sunshine. I had the Jack Daniels burger. It was nice; but a bit flavourless, chips are really good though. The sinage is a little confusing as to where to go/que but a lady soon shouted at us to go round the corner and we found our way.

Really sorry to say neither of us were impressed with our food, our starters arrived mine was totally over done and saturated with fat and served with the limpest lettuce garnish I’ve ever seen. Mains were miniature portions, I asked for mash instead of chips, and was served instant mash. Hubby got a child’s portion of chips. The pie crust could break teeth......such a shame as it’s a beautiful pub with a good atmosphere, I’m not really sure what’s happened to the food but has drastically deteriorated in the past few months from when we last visited. Please sort your chef out!!! Great food and service plus atmosphere will get returns, Bad food I’m afraid will just make us go elsewhere and spend our money.

I've seen quite a few negative reviews about this restaurant so I decided to check it out. I booked a table one line with no issues. Arrived and was seated on time. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The food was good value for money. I have to say... those who complain about quality.. your not eating in a 5* place. You get what you pay for and Fayre & Square offer good value food. The food arrived promptly as did the deserts All in all I was very happy with the service. My only negative was being charged for a pint of beer I did not have. However the manager quickly rectified it. I would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap meal out, and I'll be returning again soon! .

I have mixed reviews about this restaurant. We arrived ten minutes early but we were seated straight away. The staff where friendly and polite, but unfortunately there was was a long wait for food. We ordered a Sunday roast which was a large portion. The meat was wonderful as where the Yorkshire's but the veg was bland and tasteless. My son's meal was ok but also plain and bland. Deserts and coffee where great though. We tried the freak stakes and these too where great. We would probably try this venue again but maybe in a few months. I would say this restaurant is very family friendly

Went there for a 'wake' straight from a family member's funeral. Staff were polite and friendly, the buffet was one of the best I've seen in a long time. Good quality food and enough to feed double the amount of people stated (literally!) so if you're booking a buffet here, no need to book extra 'just in case' because you'll be begging guests and staff to take some home with them so that it doesn't go to waste. Was also told that the bar bill was nowhere near as expensive as they had expected. Everyone complimented on how lovely it was so it's not just my opinion.

Went here for a meal on Saturday. Very quiet as late lunchtime but were told we could only have the table for two hours. The food was to my mind disappointing. I ordered scampi and when it arrived it was more like a child size portion. In total there were eight small pieces of scampi, a spoonful of peas and a small portion of chips. My husband ordered the gammon steak which he said was passable but by no means outstanding. This was the first time we had been out for a meal in ages and I was underwhelmed with the experience so next time will probably stick to a coffee at the Shopping Village next door.

Facilities are good with ample parking on site. Orders are placed at the bar, but food is brought to you at the table. Waiting times generally seem reasonable. Good place to eat in the Maidstone area.

Had a lovely relaxing lunch with the girls today . Food was delicious and different...morrocan stuffed courgette rolls were an amazing starter. Well presented food and good value for money . We were seated for 12noon and the restaurant wasnt too busy but is a very popular eating place so be prepared to wait for a table at busy times Waitress really pleasant and helpful as we're the staff generally . Would cetainly recommend this restaurant. Music was a little loud but not a real problem .

My family and I had a roast here on a Sunday afternoon recently. We knew it would be busy so we booked a table so we didn't have to wait. We were seated straight away on arrival and our drink and food orders swiftly taken. We were informed that food orders could take up to 40mins but this wasn't the case as our food was out in about 20 to 25mins. Our gripe was with the service from then on. It was as though we'd received our food so we were dealt with. We were missing some of our meal and asked the waitress, on passing, if she could find out what was going on. 5mins went by and no sign not even an update so we asked again.... Yet again nothing so we asked one more time in a more blunt fashion and with that our remaining food was brought out to us. Granted it was busy and we understood this but to be forgotten about on numerous occasions wasn't good, It was a shame because all was good until that point and it really let us down.

I ate a Sunday roast on the 13/1/19, The portion size was good, but unfortunately it was let down by the veg, it was very al dente,i like a bit of bite to my veg but the cabbage and broccoli were almost raw.The roast potatoes tasted like they were cooked from frozen and they tasted floury.The other let down is they have removed ice cream sundaes off the menu and have replaced them with freak shakes, which are very heavy and sickly.So a mixed review from me.

Waited over 45 minutes for our food even though the restaurant was not overly busy. For the prices we thought the portion sizes were small and therefore overpriced. Not even sure my wife got the correct meal, she ordered a large fish and chips and if what she received was a large portion then would hate to see how small a regular was. I was there yesterday with my family, the prawn cocktails were defrosted shrimps that left a watery puddle in the bottom of the dish ...the bread that came with it was dry ( not everyones )...but 3 of us had " buttered new potatoes " with our salmon.... amazingly the salmon was lovely while the potatoes were bullets with no seasoning or butter!??...I did say this to the waitress....no butter, or a sauce?...very dry meal...her response was just that that is how it comes, the staff were polite And all the desserts were lovely. But all in all not impressed. Dark and gloomy inside too.

I almost resent giving as low a Mark as 3* because the kitchen staff (that I've seen) and manageress and the beer and food menu selection are [otherwise] great, but if you cannot get served during a quiet morning period until 5-10 minutes AFTER several other customers (who walked in after you) have been served and, then, are told, sharply, that breakfast finished 5 minutes ago (I didn't bother explaining irony to her) then you have little other recourse. Having asked what time they open for breakfast, she then rapped back at me: "1000" and expressed disbelief when I replied: "Really? Because I came in half an hour ago and there wasn't a soul about so I waited at least 10 minutes and left. Honestly, I did" (thinking they weren't serving yet). Her only response was to say: "That's fine" and turn away to another customer....No admission, no explanation and certainly no apology or service. And what kind of place is open, but not open for business (what other conclusion can I make if there're no staff around (I was free to pull and drink my own pint, were I so dishonestly inclined))? Haha, it's almost funny now I'm here sitting and typing about it. Very poor customer service 'skills' this lady had for sure...but the worst of it was actually not recognising the next customer for serving, especially at a quiet period

Unfortunately the pub at Newnham Court Inn was very disappointing. Firstly it was very cold. I asked if they could put the heating on to be met with "we are in the middle of a re-furb and there is a problem with the heating" no I will look into it for you, just attitude. I do not go out to eat in a pub and have to wear a coat. Secondly one of the meals was an all day breakfast, which was very good apart from the sausages which were almost the consistency of a brick!! we did bring it to the attention of one of the staff to which after talking to the chef came back and said. We apologise for this. The only reason I mention this is because every time you get served a member of staff comes over and says "if there is anything you do not like please let us know" I can assure you this was not dealt with properly at all just being fobbed off really. Sorry not what I expect at all.
