Reviews of The Society Rooms - JD Wetherspoon
c.
This is a very decent Spoons indeed. Good place for a cheap pint while you're waiting for the train, with the station just next door. Large outdoor courtyard where you can have a ciggie and scoff your cheap steak on a Tuesday when they have discounted sirloins. It's always busy here, so the turn over of beer is high and you're guaranteed to get a fresh pint. Which is contrary to the other Spoons in town, that's best avoided for this very reason.
Otherwise, all the standard Spoons fare can be had here in a lively atmosphere.
K. L.
Excellent wetherspoons! Brilliant location, nice outdoor seating area, good service and great food! Highly recommended. No car park that I'm aware of but we walked there, it's right in the high street. They do cocktail pitchers 2 for £12.95 which we certainly made the most of! Lots of good shopping nearby too, the town centre is huge.
C. E.
Enjoyed my traditional breakfast here, although food took a little while and was a bit cold. Their prices are also reasonable (good).
M. S.
We visit The Society Rooms from time to time, for food and drink and we cannot fault the management of this establishment with the great effort that is put into running it.
Polite staff, great food and drinks at a very reasonable price.
Great for individuals and families alike.
M. M.
Good venue for inside and outside space in a friendly environment. Usual fare with helpfull staff
g. h.
As good as Wetherspoons gets. Food quite well cooked. Nice location, so fairly busy on Sunday afternoon. Disappointed they only had one choice of white wine.
Toilet cubicle had no tissue dispenser and no tissue.
Overall, for a cheap reasonable meal and drnks for 3 at £30, I can't complain.
L. I.
I enjoy visiting this JDW. Service very good staff very good. Lots of food continuously coming from the busy kitchen. Can't wait to visit again. Only negative having to watch people wasting their money on gambling machines.
Food great and always politely served.
D. R.
We had nice fish and chips. The portions are big, the price ok and the service was friendly. Plenty of space to sit and the beer well chilled.
K. B.
Had breakfast there this morning. Two adults including unlimited hot drinks for only £14. Excellent service and good quality food. Literally nothing to complain about x
f. k.
Full stars as waiting staff are fantastic. As for patrons.. well who would be downing alcohol at 10 in the morning you get the drift. Lots of toothless wonders. If you ever wondered where people spend their disability cheques go there and you get an inkling. Food is cheap not brilliant but has capacity for large groups of people.
M. M.
Tables dirty and bar sticky. They've changed menu and the dishes don't have sides like they used to you have to pay extra. Steak used to come with chips peas, mushroom, tomatoe and onion ring. Now it's just chips, for same price! 🤨
J. G.
Odd location for a pub (kinda looks like an office block). Super busy, noisy and grubby on a Friday night, but we got a seat outside, ordered via the app and paid very little for a very nice prosecco. This is why I love Spoons!
K. H.
This Wetherspoons is better on the inside than it looks from the outside. More modern feel to the pub than the Muggleton. Everything you would expect from a Wetherspoons. Beer selection on hand pump was not as good as I expected but maybe I just timed it wrong. Good for families as well as adult groups.
C.
Food was below the weatherspoons usually low but acceptable standard.
Staff was great!
S. L.
Great breakfast at a brilliant price. Didn't give 5 stars because the plates were cold. My breakfast started going cold while I was eating it. Warmed plates would have made all the difference but fantastic staff and very good service.
A. W.
It's a Wetherspoons so everything you'd expect. Good value fare at good price.
Location is perfect for the city centre with a good atmosphere.
Don't go if you want gourmet food. You won't find it.
We had a great meal.
L. S.
I like coming here. Little classier than the Spoons down the road but accessible for all. Very busy but very quick table service. All reasonably priced. Can't really go wrong.
K. S.
Great bar, staff where really friendly. Service was fast and the pub was clean. For a Wetherspoons it was really good
B. N.
Super friendly staff, particularly Larner. Really helpful and quick. Tasty food, lots of condiments! They even put lime and ice in our tap water jug. Lovely touch. Thankyou!
E. L.
Great place, good service and both the drinks and food menu are very well priced
A. R.
Cheap and cheerful Sunday afternoon staff were very slow at the bar taking order ordered food was ok
J. S.
You know what you are getting at a wetherspoons pub. It's good priced drinks, but you don't get the height of luxury or any frills.
C. U.
Very welcoming atmosphere food is absolutely amazing very quick service! Also very quick at clearing your tables for empty glasses and plates! Would highly recommended this place.
A. R.
Lively Friday after work crowd! Big spacious & airy pub. App meant speedy service. Food & beers great
M. C.
Much the better of the two spoons in Maidstone, friendly welcoming door staff and bar staff. Nice bright interior, food and drink was all good, nothing negative to say at all about the place
J. E.
Popped in for a quick pint, staff were friendly and welcoming
R. F.
Good experience, excellent selection of beers and food. A spacious , bright and comfortable environment
f. m.
This is just 30 seconds from us. Have to say nip in for quick drink, a shot, and of course bit to eat. Never had anything but quality service with a smile, cheaper drinks, good food, apart from the cold chicken sweet chilli wrap don't buy that!.
The Irish bar good across the street, the chill bar also brilliant cocktails and up the road the Eagle pub, quite literally brilliant here.
This place is called the glass house, it's very clean, big, good toilets,
Fire Place, outside smoking area, seats for eating, modern, and very atmosphere..
B. S.
Nice simple food for a good price and well priced drinks helpful staff lively place
S. B.
This is a good example of a spoons. Staff are always polite and friendly and food is prompt and well cooked.
R. C.
Busy place, food was nice. Good location
M. W.
Always good food when been in, Nice friendly staff too
R.
Love wetherspoons, good range of food, beer and ales. Friendly staff. Typical wetherspoons. Can get a little busy at the weekends.
E. L.
Lovely, vibrant, clean and attentive staff. 1 min walk from station.
L. S.
Cheap and cheerful place to eat before going to see a show at the Hazlitt Theatre.
Busy, as it was a Friday night, so a delay with food and drinks but staff were very polite and apologetic.
D. C.
I went in for breakfast which very nice but everytime i go in for it. Always seems a bit on the cool side and never hot but apart from that its great to meet friends and to drink with a great selection of Ales, wines , ciders too and always a decent price . Staff are always lovely and friendly too and always a pleasure to go to
C. M.
One of the better Wetherspoon. Plenty of room glass frontage onto the high St.
J. G.
What's not to love! Value for money and table service
R. N.
Becoming ever more popular. Regulars from the church or, the few actually in the KCC offices, opposite feel comfortable to join the pub regulars and pop in for coffee breakfast or lunch.
Good beer good food, fair prices well maintained open airy premises; what is not to like?
As a pub it is somewhat impersonal; groups of strangers / singles sitting at tables; not at place to strike up accquaintancships, but none the less fine to come with a group or on your own. Ironically in this equality venue, many women can be sen to pay catastrophic prices for their coffee at coffee houses rather than the £1:25 for an excellent (bottomless) cup of LavAzza/tea/hot chocolate/ etc. One can only assume it is a remnant of the " to be seen" culture.
T. B.
Great food, prices not to bad either.
s.
So a very good very cheap pizza and a drink for just over £7, can't complain. 😁
G. G.
Great beers an good prices. Breakfast was good. Big location and lovely staff
S. G.
Good value for money friendly staff
T.
Has a very filthy skylight would be great if they cleaned it
R.
Good selection of beers at fair prices!
j. p.
Always love people watching here. Great beer if you are into ales. Food is standard Witherspoon's fare so not my bag but others love it. No youngsters so it is a bit more relaxed than a normal Spoons pub.
J. S.
Great food, cheap drinks and excellent service. All the staff are very friendly.
R. S.
As usual. Such good value with very helpful and regular staff.
A. A.
Well spaced out tables, friendly service.
I had the vegetarian breakfast which was brilliant.
The free refills are a great idea on drinks.
Nice view from the pub.
All clean and hand gel available.
I broke my mask and was given a free new one ☺️
The one thing that could of been better ...the standard of bread for the toast.
Thankyou...
C. B.
Still my favourite wetherspoons, nice bright airy atmosphere, food is great value and the service is quick, most importantly the wetherspoons app seems to work fine without issues.
C. B.
Good prices for food and drink. Nice atmosphere. Always quite busy so be prepared to wait for service
M. H.
Quality bit off grub
L. S.
Quite crowded with customers, but service was still quick.
S. G.
Very good atmosphere. Tree and decs already up. Very cosy atmosphere. We sat by the fire making it extra cosy. Glass of wine just £2.70
S. K.
Wow! Food hot and tasty as always, drinks nice snd cold! Special shout out to Julie who went the extra mile to assist an old boy with condiments - 5 star customer service! Thank you!
M. a. M. T.
Great place nice food and staff
M. W.
Nice meal the butter milk chicken burger with brie and chilli jam is really good
R. M.
We’ve eaten here a couple of times when out and about in town.
Always have been able to find a table, and the service has always been good.
The App is a little bit of a pain, but always got what we ordered 😊
R. J. B.
Fantastic place to eat and drink ☺️ staff are very friendly and attentive to their customers. Ordering on the Weatherspoon's App on a smart device will make things much more easier! Good job guys 👍
G. C.
Quality pub at the best of its game 😉
T. T.
Value for money, good food 👌 😋 👍
A. S.
Great staff who could not do more for you. Would recommend a visit!
M. H.
The staff are always helpful, the service is good. All the food is reasonably priced and you get good value for your money. I've never had a bad meal, but, sometimes the food may not be as hot as I'd like, but the staff will always put that right, straight away if asked. As a wheelchair user the staff will go out of their way to help me too, making me tea or coffee instead of me having to use the self service. This maybe a small thing for some, but a great help for me.
S. P.
Great food, reasonable prices, great atmosphere
F. K.
Great value for money breakfast. Extremely
friendly welcome from the lady with short black hair. Would definitely recommend.
J. C. (.
Lots of space and a beer garden to spread out and hang with friends. Usually quite lively. Society Rooms has a huge selection of drinks, including cocktails, and they also serve food in the day. Their menu is pretty decent. Staff are friendly and attentive.
s. g.
Had a good experience apart from the 30 minute wait for food. But you could see they were busy and all the staff were working very hard! The service from the gentleman at the bar was really good. He acknowledged me waiting and said he'd be with me next. Price is really good for what you get.. I had a small pizza, halloumi fries and chicken bites and the person I was with had the fish and chips and said it was great! And a drink each for under £20!!! If it wasn't that cheap I'd probably nock a star of for the long wait. Will go back
P. B.
What's not to like about another 'Spoons. Good service and value for money....Great place for a lunch
A.
Foods good for the price along with the drinks must be the cheapest place for drinks in maidstone, shame about some of the punters 🙄 brings it down quite a few levels im afraid, the loudmouths just ruin it so choose quieter times to go these days 😒
J. F.
Another great Weatherspoons with friendly helpful staff.
N. J.
Typical Wetherspoon pub. Good value and good quick service. Our drinks came within minutes of ordering and the food arrived shortly afterwards and was hot and tasty.
C. W.
Nice staff and a good place to meet after work.
F.
It's a weatherspoons pub with nice views and plenty of comfortable seating. Prices are what you'd expect outside of London. The staff are nice and competent. Like the whole chain there's no ghastly pop music to be endured whilst trying to have a nice soothing beverage. Definitely a plus in my book.
B. O.
Very nice the food is ok
T. B.
Nice food ( not long to wait for it )
Still table ordering service
Very lovely helpful staff
B. R.
Had a lovely night last night big shout out to Micheal the gentleman whose hours have been cut he deserves better. Wonderful server and entertainer. Thank you spoons for always providing good vibes and drinks, we will be back!
G.
Great family pub Restaurant. Friendly staff.
T. J.
Usual Wetherspoons offerings. Decent food, good ales at low prices. Atmosphere is a bit noisy so not for a quiet family meal, but this is not the market.
I. L.
Good food great night
L. M.
Amazing breakfast and friendly staff
R. A.
Good place good price great food
L. B.
The food is delicious, and price is even better
D. P.
Location is great, access for disabled is great, staff very helpful, free coffee refills till 2pm and the Hygiene rating is full marks. Prices are amazing and Tuesday is Steak day! Ive eaten steak in many places worldwide and I have to say this is the best I've ever had and the service is super speedy! They serve a pretty mean breakfast too! Well worth a visit!
J. C.
Food was good but the waitress did not have mask on when she brought our dinner out which i thought was compulsory when serving food at a table also when our plates were collected
C. B.
Big open space but doesn't feel comfortable. Spoons food is limited and boring now. I'm sure portion size has gone down 🙁 Still value for money
D. I.
Perfect for a pint or two and pretty decent food.
V. H.
It's just a typical Wetherspoons and all that usually entails
R. B.
Excellent restaurant/pub! You can download an app from Wetherspoons, select the location and table, and order food and drinks right to your table. There are smoking and non-smoking areas. Service was very good during my first visit. The place looks quite modern on the inside, and very spacious both inside and outside too. Another feature is its great location in Maidstone, right across the Maidstone East train station.
G. C.
Great selection of beers and after getting off the train from London where it was at least a fiver a pint unbelievable cheap prices
m. b.
The food was good but as both I and my son did separate orders on our phones they deleted my order thinking one person had ordered twice so had to wait again
A. H.
Typical 'spoons. Lots of space and quite a bit on tap.
R. G.
A good shot in your drink not full of ice like many pubs and restaurants do a great time there
C. P.
Pleasant and friendly staff , have to use app to order food and drinks (but staff can do it without if needed) plenty of beers to choose from
T. v.
Only good for drinks food is really bad compared to so many other places. Even the dessert is terrible, brownies are way to hard the warm cookie dough is basically a hard short bread the steak was disgusting and not cooked to how i wanted. Overall a waste of money if going in for food.
O.
Good sized pub, plenty of choice with very low prices and friendly staff.
K. L.
Good location and a nice outdoor area
L. H.
Haven't been in for 2 years, staff very friendly, I was impressed with how clean and tidy and how parts resigned for more hygiene and supportive of best covid measures to stay safe.
A. C.
Handy location, next to train station, no parking outside, but can use station car park, great staff service.
J. D.
Good Breakfast and unlimited coffee
C. S.
Brilliant pub, one of the best in the county town. Great contemporary open plan layout. Big windows everywhere so it's easy to observe the local wildlife as well!!
D. C.
Good food. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff
M. P.
Excellent. 2 cups of coffee for a £. Spacious and clean. Friendly staff.
T. S.
Its a lovely Wetherspoons pub right outside Maidstone East station.
C. M.
Love popping in to society rooms for a drink. They always have a good range of real ale and a couple of real ciders to choose from. Plus a few different bottles of cider too. We also enjoy going for dinner with the kids as the food is always good and cheap.
A. J.
Good price beer and good selection of Ale. Bar staff are usually Friendly and quick to serve. Food is good for the price. Usually have a quiz night on a Monday . There is an outside seating area which is divided between smoking and no smoking which I think is a good idea. Can get busy but during the week is pleasantly nice
T. D.
Excellent pub. Very busy indeed but clean facilities if you can negotiate the stairs ! And friendly and efficient staff. The food looked ok but I didn't actually try any myself and the usual low priced Wetherspoons menu.
D. B.
Really great place to eat or grab a pint. Friendly staff and the prices are amazing, and they are a 30 second walk from Maidstone East railway Station. You can get bottomless coffee until 13h00.
R. W.
Service and food was very good. Also really great value for money.
g. C.
Enjoyed my time in here very chilled and great lager!!!
J. P.
Helpful staff. Good food. Good value. Really pleased there is seating outside!
K. M.
Brilliant staff and prices
R. C.
Well done to Wetherspoons for being a part of the Maidstone Community Toilet scheme. While using the facilities, which were clean, I did partake of a coffee.
b. w.
Curry thursday always nice
D. J.
Friendly local pub which offers great food and a wide range of beers at low prices.
This pub chain offers free coffee and tea refills all day long which is a massive plus in my eyes. £1.25p for you first coffee and the rest is free
F. G.
Good value breakfast. Very handy for the railway station.
H. S.
99p pint of excellent beer, cozy fire and helpful and pleasant staff. Hard to beat.
S. G.
Food and staff always, good!!!!
Could do with a revamp on interia, to make it more appealing.
C. H.
Excellent food speedy service
S. T.
Great food service and a clean tidy place to eat... Value for money
J. M.
What can I say...Large Breakfast to the normal high standard...and a nice selection of real ale on tap.
G. D.
Good selection of ales on tap most days and even more selection in the canned ales, lager etc.... Can get very (over) busy at weekends in the day(so bearing mind wen ordering food for Sat /Sunday shoppers after a quick bite..
D. R.
Classic, Hearty Meals. I order steak every time a perfectly cooked medium rare! Thick cut chips golden and crispy. I recommend to anyone who wants an affordable treat with filling and tasty food.
l. s.
Tables are well spaced out, staff are polite and helpful, food and drink still cheap. This was a very nice experience.
P. M.
Really nice meals and good value for money
R. H.
Recommended. Worth a visit. The food was exceptionally good, freshly cooked and nice and hot. Good service.
M. S.
Great weatherspoons. Nice and warm. Clean. Can be difficult to get a table during peak hours. Food is served quickly and is a good price.
C. E.
First time here, l was cold when l arrived, it was busy but straight away a girl came up and wiped our table! I then sat by a lovely warm fire so it felt lovely and welcoming, will definitely be returning! 😆
J. G.
Get a reasonable priced pint
Staff friendly and as efficient as one can expect from a busy premises.
A place to where one should go tor relax for a while but spoiled by Tim's addiction to brexit and his literature on every table.
J. C.
As Wetherspoons go this one is fine. Food is OK. Beer is OK. It's all cheap as chips. You can use the app and get table service. No complaints.
D. S.
OK food, good prompt service, cheap
s. d.
Portions sizes are ok and not bad for the money. Friendly place, always bumping into friends in there
B. D.
Thanks for the mea meal & drinks, we didn't have a long wait to get our meals. A good atmosphere & good friendly staff. Well clean toilets, well done The Society Rooms.
J. S.
Just popped in for breakfast always good food and great value friendly and helpful staff 👍
A. P.
What's there not to like about the exceptional value of the drinks and foods? Busy venue with a good atmosphere, A acceptably tasty meal and a pint for something like 6 quid? It's a winning formula.
J. B.
What can I say it's in the name cumon great 👍
K. M.
As good as wetherspoons get, a great location and more than enough room through out the day. The food is great for a light bite or for a full meal. A wide selection of drinks aswell, prices are very nice also 10/10
K. L.
Love this place one of my favorite cheap and cheerful. Always busy so I think it speaks for itself... But think the weather spoon chain should think about play areas for children as abroad most eating places have some form of entertainment for the children
D. B.
A nice Weatherspoons in Maidstone next to Maidstone East train station. Lots of windows so very light and airy.. Staff are lovely and polite, drinks and food are really reasonable as all Weatherspoons are. A mixed clientele of all ages (as well as some VERY seasond drinkers that you always get).. However I've never witnessed any trouble or bad vibes here. I've always had a nice time and the food is delicious.
C.
Nice place to eat, food is of a good quality, drinks are competitive for the area. During the evenings it's got a good atmosphere and quick service. Enjoyable place to meet friends for a chat, or for a start before enjoying the nightlife.
D. B.
Good beer at reasonable prices. Nice clean environment.
R. R.
Great food great service great value
t. s.
plenty of room .good selection of beers. food ok
S. B.
Wetherspoons - popped in for a coffee after NA while waiting for the train. Unlike many other Wetherspoons, it's light and airy and has a semi-outside area in adjoining arcade. It's OK, but I don't drink anymore so limited appeal
D. P.
Decent pub, nicely laid out, seems clean and tidy.
Came here for lunch with my children, as usual food good and reasonable prices, always like coming here.
R. B.
Great breakfast at the weekend. Service is good and the food arrives quite quickly. I've been a number of times and taken friends with me. Breakfast that won't break the bank.
R. D.
Good value drinks but ordered on my app and they never turned up so after 10 minutes went to the bar and was pointed to them waiting there in a tray 🤔
S. M. d. C.
Good prices on food and drinks, food actually pretty good, can get busy and noisy. Can also get pretty messy with uncleared tables and detritus on the floor when busy which isn't pleasant. Busy but good atmosphere.
J. R.
Normally would give five stars but ate food last week and meals came out 20 minutes apart and over cooked
M. M.
Superb, nice staff, good real ales, small selection but that is their first week after scamdemic.
C. R.
Very busy, toilets down two flights of stairs, but the food was hot, the service good and the drinks were cheap. Typical town center Wetherspoons, does exactly what it says on the tin.
B. C.
One of the best Wetherspoon pubs I've been to! Absolutely love going here to eat and take family and friends. Definitely recommend.
C. K.
Great place to sit with a beer and a snack, when either waiting for a train or waiting for someone to arrive. Prices are reasonable and large selection available through the app after lockdown.
D. W.
Typical wetherspoons cheap and cheerful
P. M.
Cheap, easy to get to and always a good meeting spot to start the day for breakfast if you're spending the day in town or heading up to London by train, good to meet in weeknights as it's often quieter so plenty of room if you're a larger group.
J. G.
The atmosphere is unique. Never have I beheld such an air of purpose and energy amongst clientele. Diners are recommended to partake of a cultural smorgasbord of customers.
Simply ace
A. P. (.
Good place for a beer or dinner. Very tasty food. And portions really big and not expensive. I love there wing and ribs combo 😍😁
Q. M.
Central location and usually much less busy than the Counting House. Friendly staff and sometimes has drinks/food offers at the bar.
P. B.
Wetherspoons have got their formula spot on, quality of food is always consistent and beers are always fresh. Can't beat their pricing, excellent value.
J. C.
Great prices on drinks. Do some good meal deals. When we went in at lunchtime it was heaving. Says it all.
S. G.
The usual Weatherspoon's pub. Open from 7AM so great for an early breakfast. New menu (Feb 2017) pretty good. Service can be slow at peak times.
S. H.
Great food, very good service and prices! Took mum and family out for lunch £84 ! For 6 to have a main meal and a couple of bottles of prosecco...
Thank you Mr Wetherspoons !!
P. W.
Usual good value food and drinks. Always worth a visit.
B. R.
Not too impressive from the outside yet inside, no matter how busy always appears calm, clean, cheap and cheerful. Lovely place for a quick bite and a fine Wetherspoon.
I. S.
Good service. Good value food. Don't want any more
A. B.
Been here many times and have always been happy with both the food and the service.
M. O.
LOVELY WEATHERPOONS PUB, spacious, great fast service. Curry night was very good, just as well after being turned away from nearby Thai restaurant Narai Palace, because they were too lazy to serve us. So big thank you to them to introducing us to a curry night at Weatherpoons, tasty grub, great beer, better than Singha or Chang, and paid only ££25 for 4 of us, whereas would have £60+ at the Narai Thai Palace
R. K.
I go because the beers are good and affordable and because the lunch is also a bargain. In particular, the salads are fresh, compared to the other Maidstone Wetherspoons pub, The Muggleton, which also suffers constant problems with stock.
S. M.
Absolute love in hear ad would recommend to friends and family.
T. H.
Its nice place to relax and enjoy talking to people food not bad could be better
l. b.
Every meal we ordered had missing items, not the most enjoyable experience... Used to be better!!
M. N.
Usually a big fan of 'Spoons, nice place but let down by poor service, staff to busy chatting....... Come on' Spoons, sort your staff out
p.
Just had the festive turkey pie, all the flavours of Christmas dinner in a pie.. genius! busy and loud as it was around 1pm and near Christmas,Food was quick to arrive and hot. The usual wetherspoons experience.
I. P. A.
Functional, clean and easier than the Wetherspoon Muggleton in town centre.
B. M.
Friendly staff. Good beer
W. P.
It is what it is...a big pub with great value drinks and food. Can get noisy and staff will struggle to keep tables cleared and clean but they do their best.
D. R.
Twas ok to visit, but feels very exposed and goldfish bowl inside. Not recommended if you like finding a cosy nook to relax and chat. Its all glass and plastic. Has more of an "Adventure Kidz" vibe, except without any balls in the pit. In several ways. The gigantic serving of tonic water impressed, however!
d. p.
Get what you pay for ? Society Rooms is a bit better than that. Bright and airy. Daily special great value. And one of the biggest choices of Ales.
I will visit again soon.
( noisey clients )
M. C.
Had a nice meal and drink,I was not able to have my first and second choice because they had run out of ribs and gammon .
S. B.
Shining star in the Wetherspoons crown, on the weekend of our visit the duty manager who introduced herself to our group was an excellent example of how to treat customers and this echoed in all the team we met. Definitely a place we will be returning to
A. K.
Nice place with cheaper drinks, which is good. Perfect choice for a night with friends, but wouldn't come with family and children. Food is average.
J. j.
Had a large breakfast here, good food, tasty and value for money. Unlimited coffees/lattes from the machine too. Friendly helpful staff.
J. N.
Nice place to chill after shopping with friends and have a few drinks. Food is OK not out of this world but will hit the spot and there are plenty of different choices on the menu.
C. A.
Nice weatherspoons friendly helpful staff nice ales near Maidstone East rly Station
W. M.
Had good food and good service
G. S.
This is a fantastic looking pub in center At Alban's. The decor and ambiance is very open and appealing, the Sunday roast is really good value and the food is nice.
T. W.
Quick, efficient & friendly staff, good hot food, great servicr
S. G.
Fantastic experience today food first class. Staff excellent very helpfull would recommend 100 % Best Pub in Maidstone cannot find a better one. Staff most polite and helpfull
G. K.
The Stag has improved considerably. Only place in Maidstone that was prepared to make me a Bloody Mary. Gr8 atmosphere for us over 40's when the clock ticks past 10 in Maidstone on a Saturday evening!
N. N.
It's ok, drinks prices are very good as is their selection but the food can be very hit and miss. Use the app is you can to order food and drinks as service can be excruciatingly slow sometimes
D. G.
It's a weatherspoons. BUT...... In Maidstone this means - clean, good prices, pleasant staff.
Why in Maidstone?
Hmmmm - well, maybe it's the competition?(there's another weatherspoons about 10 mins walk away).
Maybe it's just that the management are better at training their staff? Or maybe it's that the people of Maidstone are more conscientious workers than those in London?
You may think that the public face of weatherspoons is a bit of a greedy moron. I couldn't possibly comment. But, don't pre-judge based upon the public ramblings of someone with the mental capacity of a bag of wet mice........... Try the society rooms.
C. B.
This pub is big and the setting is a bit old-fashionned. The prices are good though and the staff friendly. Its opening hours is quite convenient too.
A. L.
Not my idea of a pub. Not much atmosphere I was there meeting friends.
C.
Normally really good. Breakfast was not hot, so offered to cook new. Quality and portion size ok. Little dissapointed.
L. S.
No complaints, typical 'Spoons'
B. M. G.
Nice place to eat drink and relax typical weather spoons menu. Good selection of drinks service is usually quick and staff are friendly.
M. M.
Because it's friendly the prices are very reasonable especially on a mon when it's mon club (but not bank holidays tho) they have a quiz on Monday s to
J. P.
Meal as expected, nice enough surroundings same price as anywhere
C. S.
Had a super time, this was work mates after work having a get together for the first time in six months, the staff were on top of everything, I therefore felt safe, Thank you XXX
F. H.
Staff were friendly but food was overcooked - egg was rubbery and bacon was rock hard. Order food together but meals arrived 15 minutes apart. I had finished my meal before my friend's even arrived.
M. A.
Perfect staff and safe precautions. Food was on point and faster service then expected.
o. b.
Cheap food and cheap booze, all good in my book. It has a colourful collection of local alcoholics to regail you with tales of stuff you don't want to know.
J. T.
Busy little place, good access lots of seating. Staff friendy and drinks very competively priced.
G. A.
Only slightly better than Maidstone's other Wetherspoon's venue, The Muggleton Inn.
Cleaner and more open, beer garden is bigger too.
Same low prices and deals offered as in all JDW pubs.
J. F.
food was good coffee and tea deal is great pay for one cup as many refills as you like great value for money.staff very friendly
P. P.
Very good value for money food and drink and just a few steps from Maidstone East railway station, great for a swift pint after the Maidstone United football game.
G. R.
The garden area is really nice!
a. k.
It's a nice place but a bit loud. Very conveniently placed near the Maidstone east station. Weekends are very busy!
j. g.
Nice place, clean friendly staff and cheap drinks !!
S. F.
Helpful staff especially Katie. Good food and fast
s. p.
Went for a drink in there on a Saturday afternoon. Very busy. Nice atmosphere but had to wait to get a table.
M. S.
Great place, clean and good quality food at decent prices. A nice place for a last minute dinner on a Sunday night.
A. O.
Quite a large, open plan pub. Decent outdoors space for smokers and plenty of staff on the bar when it's busy.
a. k.
Great food. Standards of Witherspoon's have been met! Good customer service and prompt and fresh food provided.
m. h.
It's a wetherspoons so the beer and food is inexpensive. Good range of beers and ciders. Popular during day and evening
A. C.
As you would expect from a JDW pub. Well priced food and drink. Good staff levels so bar always quick to serve and food always swift out of the kitchen.
J. S.
OK if you want a quick (and cheap) drink after work, or at the start of an evening out in Maidstone.
Avoid the food, unless you like beige and be prepared to stand up if you visit at peak times.
B. W.
Quick service, friendly staff. They deserve to be paid double time for bank holidays
R. W.
Society Rooms feels like a cross between a Harvester and Gatwick Airport. Families sit together looking out of the large windows as shoppers pass by outside, seasoned regulars put away pint after reasonably priced pint, teenage lads try their luck on the fruit machines. All life is here in some form or another. It might not be the most soulful or sophisticated place but if you fancy a cheap pint and a cross section of Maidstone society it may be for you.
S. W.
Went to the curry day and had a lovely meal, with a drink included. Good service and a great range of beers.
J. M.
Great company. Cheap beer. Ok food.
G. R.
Food was under par here. Ham egg and chips. The ham was very fatty and not alot if it. The out side space was filthy
W. C.
Great place food excellent tables clean and tidy.
d. c.
Excellent food, nice staff ,clean tidy pub with good value offered. We had Sunday lunch
R. S.
Haven't been there for awhile, but pleasantly surprised
S. C.
Better than usual Wetherspoons.
Usual keen prices and good food. Place is kept in nice condition.
Plenty of seating.
S. M.
It was busy, but there were loads of competent staff and food was available also, a great atmosphere to.. We'll worth going to.
D. B.
Great food and service we recommend going here and I recommend that you try the lamb shank it just melts in your mouth and the vegetables are cooked to perfection.
O. O.
Came here so many times for dinner out or for the first place to start my night out on the town
Always looking forward to the choices of cocktails they've got
J. M.
Great value for your money and the Weatherspoon's App means you don't even have to leave your table 🙂
T. T.
Not the greatest 'spoons starting to look a little tired in places. Food and beer still good just needs a major clean and furniture replacement.
S. O.
For the price and varied bitters you can't go wrong.
P. G.
Good food and drink, not expensive at all.
D. O.
Typical Wetherspoons good value good food clean environment, with just your sad collection of local old dregs hogging the same tables 7 days a week.
O.
Good selection of beers although on my visit the bar staff were very understaffed. Clean pub and decent food. I would go back
g. l.
Cheap breakfast good honest food free tea and coffee refills caring staff
J. D.
I really like the Society Rooms when you want to know what you're going to get at a good price. As a Wetherspoons pub the menu is reliable and the service is quick
L. B.
Good food, and friendly staff.
j. r.
Cheap and cheerful but for slightly more money you could go somewhere else for better food
s. b.

S.
Good place for breakfast, lunch and dinner or having a drink and chat, good Lavazza coffee, nice staff.
D. T.
Cheap drinks. Nice food. Fast service. Good bar staff.
C. S.
Soulless spoons in a modern building. But large, with cheapish drinks as well as plentiful outside space in the equally soulless courtyard (in the middle of a 70s/80s block).
N. C.
Good value for money not bad food!
S. L.
Nice food, nice prices but tables could do with a clean between customers.
S.
It's a fairly nice 'Spoons, good location for the town and train station. Pretty quiet on the Tuesday lunchtime we visited.

T. C.
Friendly staff and the food & drink is great even better if you're on a budget
S. F.
Good prices, good food as usual. Shame the outside has turned into a smokers' and swearing area!
F. A. V.
Can be extremely busy but drinks are a reasonable price and if you don't mind the queues at peak periods it's a good starting point for a night out!
M. c.
Food came out really late no slaw appeared but the burger was lovely
S. R.
It's cheap, food is good and service quick but tables left dirty and not always that clean.
C. K.
What you would expect from a Wetherspoons. Good prices, spacious, and the staff were really friendly
A. L.
I like all Weatherspoons but unfortunately this 1 didn't stock JD'S with Honey so it lost points but service nice and friendly
