Had a lovely evening here. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Food was good. I had the fish sharing plate - but all to myself as a main and it was delicious. Hubby had the chilli beef with noodles and enjoyed it too. We shared the salted caramel chocolate brownie with ice cream for desert. Our little dog was made very welcome and we would definitely recommend and return.

They do a fine pudding and pie of the day, and we're talking meat puddings. We were too stuffed for afters, which also looked good. The beer was perfect. It was a Wednesday lunchtime but there were plenty of folk tucking in, so this can't be a hidden gem but it's certainly a gem.

The building here dates to the 1500's and is situated in a small village. A small interesting menu and lovely staff made our visit a pleasure. I particularly liked the smoked mackerel.

What a hidden gem! Warm and intimate environmental and one of the best pub roasts I've tasted. My friend ate lasagne, which was delicious and home made. Service was friendly and relaxed. Reasonable prices and very welcoming.

Don't be put off by the sample menu and notifications they are operating a reduced menu. There was plenty on the menu and more than I expected for me as a vegetarian. All the food tasted home made and was nicely presented. Plenty of it too. My husband, daughter and I are very hard to please together. I like to try things I wouldn't prepare myself; my husband likes good home food and plenty of it at a reasonable price; my daughter likes variety. We all had a starter, a drink and a main course. Luckily my husband has hollow legs so he finished off our starters. We took advantage of 25% discount. Incredible value for money. Only criticism is only offered filter coffee. I don't like cold drinks and look forward to a cappuccino if everybody else having a dessert.

Haven't been to the Walnut Tree for a while, but heard it had been revamped so had dinner there recently. It looks like quite a lot of money has been spent on the refit and it was money well spent. The pub now feels welcoming with a large fire place taking centre stage (great for those winter evenings) and a large garden which has been spruced up, at the back of the pub away from the road, great for warm summer evenings, as it was when we visited. The menu is pretty much standard pub grub, but it's done well and the owners have not made the mistake that some places make by having a massive menu. There was also a specials board which looked varied and a little bit different. In other words, most people should be able to find something they like on the menu and it will be well cooked and presented, and tasty. The service was also prompt, friendly and polite. The only suggestion I have would be to try making some guest beers available, that change from time to time, but I think it might be a tied house (to Shepherd & Neame??) so perhaps that is not allowed.... Overall would recommend and is worthy of 4 stars.

Found this pub by accident whilst visiting a relative in Maidstone. They managed to fit us in on a busy Sunday lunchtime with a very warm welcome. The food was superb, the service was warm and friendly and the local beers great. Very, very recommended.

First time been since refurbished, decor good. Open fire always a plus. Staff very Friendly, didn't eat bit good looked good and plentiful. Heard someone asking for bread and butter with there roast and they got it no issues. Will definitely try the food. Met a few people who have eaten there and highly recommend it.

We booked last minute and surprised we got a table it was the first time we had been there but what an amazing meal we usually go to the George in Leeds but the food was delicious and the staff so polite and friendly. We felt very safe and relaxed.👍

Fantastic local pub in East Farleigh. Just been redone with new owners and it's lovely. Very big car park and a nice sized pub garden. I ordered a lasagne and it was massive so I can definitely vouch for portion size. There were about 15 of us eating at lunch time, but nothing was too much trouble and the staff were lovely to adults and children.

Used to drink there every night for many years. New owners have done a great job, although now different in character, The Nut has survived it's dark period. Ales as they should be! Reports on food good. Well done!

Traditional old english style country pub with a beautiful landscaped garden at the rear (this cannot be seen from the road). Has live bands that are fantastic to listen, sing and dance along to. Whilst quiet daytime during the week, it is usually busy at weekends. There is a trendy crowd here who make you feel welcome. Suitable for families with children (i think children are not allowed after 9pm) and dogs welcome on a lead. Great place to go for a drink and enjoy the country air on a sunny day in the garden.
