Reviews of Albert's Schloss - Manchester
C. M.
This is an amazing place to visit. It’s extremely busy so make sure you book well in advance. If you have kids then make sure you book well before 6. If you are in a large group and out for a night in Manchester then you certainly won’t regret going. Staff are absolutely amazing , food is amazing and the beer and drinks are amazing too . Atmosphere of this place was buzzing , even at 3pm in the afternoon, would love to have went without my son and seen the atmosphere in the evening. 100% somewhere you need to visit if you are in Manchester , a good starting point for a night out or even a afternoon meal out with the family .
M. T.
Great selection of beers on tap. The place gets really busy so expect a wait at the bar at peak times. Amazing atmosphere, especially around the live entertainment after 20.00. Food looks ace, but we haven't tried ourselves. Friends say its very tasty. Highly recommended 👌
S. S.
Beautiful food, amazing attentive service. Moorish!!! Sometimes they have live music, a massive bar selection for beer lovers. And the sausageeeeeeeeees, it's all about the sausages! Really a great place to be! We love coming back here 💗

A stop here for breakfast having never visited an Albert’s Schloss before.
A good breakfast menu, well priced and service was friendly and fast. Great quality food and drink. Well worth a visit if nearby if only to marvel at the gorgeous entranceway which many people were photographing as they passed by.

I’d wanted to come here for ages so had high expectations and it didn’t disappoint.
I was going to a concert nearby but didn’t book in advance as I was unsure what time I’d make it there.
The host on the door was fantastic when I explained why I couldn’t make a reservation and found a table for me immediately when I explained my circumstances, though I think I dropped lucky, it was 6.30 on a Wednesday.
Service was incredible, the two guys serving me, Val and Ancor were friendly, helpful, chatty and knowledgeable about the food and drink on offer.
I ordered the Schweinshaxe (roast pork knuckle) and a pint of German black lager.
I’ve travelled a lot in Germany on business trips and the Schweinshaxe was well above the average of what I’ve eaten in Germany. The beer was excellent too.
Decor and atmosphere are great. I left feeling very happy and well fed.

Our first visit, we had brunch .. it's fantastic!
Excellent service, food and ambience.
Plus a photo booth and fabulous staff...definitely recommend!

Wow this place is just amazing, its a huge open space of vibes, great food and drink, the staff are great and very informative and helpful. Food just taste great love this place. Theres a real buzz in here and the decor is amazing. Highly recommend if your in the area, defo will be back.

The place have really good atmosphere and the live music come on at 8.30pm is really good. Cocktail is really good and worth it.
The only thing I would say is that the burger I had a little dry and there is no options for sauce for the steak. The fries was a little too salty for me.
D.
Very nice spot, was in for breakfast and staff were friendly and food was good. Looks like it would be a good spot for night out. Reasonable price of food and drink
S. M.
Beer was good, service ok but difficult to get to the bar as people were sitting there. It was absolutely packed. Good atmosphere and loved being by the fire on the icy cold day. Didn't have food but it looked and smelled good.
R. S.
I visited Ablerts Schloss this past week when I visited Manchester for work. We popped in here for a drink. The venue is huge, they are a bar as well as a restaurant, and even host live music.
We were surprised to know we were conveniently there for happy hour. 2 cocktails for £10.
Definitely recommend a visit if you're looking for a relaxing, but lively place for a drink.
K. T.
Absolutely enjoyed this place. Busy lovely atmosphere, the staff was really fast and the drinks were nice!
M. H.
If you like it loud and lively this is for you. Entertaining acts through the evening, great fun. Food was better than expected for this type if place. Tasty, well presented and good standard. Despite being jammed to the door the waiting staff were attentive and quick. Very helpful and good products knowledge. Explained the evening's gluten free dishes to one of our party and offered help with various wine styles.
B. O.
Amazing selection of beers and wines and spirits. Lovely food options. Big airy space but still felt cosy
A. G.
Had a quick drink before a wedding. Wife had the watermelon margarita. Lager was decent. Nothing special.
D. C.
Great place, great food and really nice staff. Love the decor. Free photo booth downstairs too.
F. L.
All I can say is the place is amazing! Everything about it is perfect. A must for anyone who loves German food, great hospitality and a fab atmosphere. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
C. M.
This place is incredible! Lovely food and great service. It's authentic enough to be dangerous, foodie enough to keep your bellies satisfied and as friendly as you'd expect. You're more likely to hear the Happy Mondays than any oompah bands but that's just fine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I'll definitely come again. 🍻🥨🌭
D. N.
Fantastic atmosphere. Great food and an excellent beverage selection. Bochja who served us was fantastic. Young, hip and modern with a cabaret edge. Superb.
S. B.
One of the best bars in the city, although it is quite pricey there is a fantastic range of drinks available. The location is great, and the size of the bar is brilliant, with plenty of space, seating and tables to meet with friends. The staff are always really friendly, welcoming and helpful too.
S. M.
Went here with friends for some drinks and listen the music on a Sunday night. The drinks were good but priced as you'd expect for the area (circa £10). The live band were excellent including a brass section. If/when I'm in Manchester again I would definitely go back.
M.
Large German themed bar in the Albert Hall building. Huge central serving island with lots of fizzy beers. Used to sell a real ale but long gone. Live music at times and can be very vibrant. I had a good pint of some German fizzy Pils. Prefer it when in Germany but I like this bar. Had good hot dog previous visit.
C. D.
Enjoyed a graduation celebration meal. Greeted and seated in good time. Staff keen to upsell on menu item, but welcoming and pleasant. Food came out I'm a good time and we had a great meal, washed down with some good cocktails.
K. B.
A group of us went her to celebrate a birthday. It was a brilliant night. Very good choice of beers, excellent service and the atmosphere was great. We didn't wait long at all for our food even though it was packed. Loved it, we'll be back.
J. F.
I had a great experience at Albert Schloss: the food was well cooked and delicious, the atmosphere was brilliant, if a little loud (though we were right next to the stage and speaker so that's to be expected). The reason for the 3 star review though is the prices of drinks: £5.90 as a standard pint is crazy - this isn't London, there's no need for that mark up. Plus on top of that there's an extra £1 charge (which is not clearly mentioned anywhere except on the final bills) for ordering during a performance. I appreciate it's a great way to give back to the performers, however given there's already a £1 markup on price over similar pubs/bars around town, an additional £1 is ludicrous. I shouldn't have to pay £7 for a pint, especially when it's not clearly communicated - that's taking the mick.
E. C.
Delicious Alpine food, great live DJ, atmosphere and exceptional service. Really recommend a visit if you are staying in Manchester.
j. w.
amazing bar highly recommended. great service and our waiter even let us try beers before ordering
M. D.
Vibrant and busy, typically German(Bavarian) styled brewery with great food ,atmosphere and drinks!
s. s.
Shady pricing - be careful. First round of drinks - fine. Second round, the manager decided a DJ constituted 'live music' and charged an extra £2. Their policy is that prices can increase with live music (i.e. a live band) so this was completely out of line. We walked off and went to Refuge for more respectful service.
M. P.
What a great night the atmosphere was great the band where brilliant definitely go for a good night out.
J. W.
We had a group of six visiting the AS Sunday at lunchtime a few weeks ago.
We were seated a dimly lit table but there was plenty of room at the table, guess we should have asked to move as the bar was quiet.
When the menus were distributed the server made no reference to Sunday Lunch roast being available and we had ask. We also needed to ask for an additional portion of potatoes and vegetables.
The food was good with an ample serving of roast meat.
The drinks were at a price point common in the center of Manchester.
The female singer entertained us with good middle of the road tunes as you might expect on a Sunday lunchtime. However, our table was very close to her making conversation difficult. Again we should have asked to move.
My original rating of 3 stars may have been a little harsh so I've up't the rating to 4 stars.
S. B.
Stylishly decorated venue, live music was fantastic, dancers on stations all around whether dressed as sailors or mermaids it's a got a great vibe. Cost £14 for a gin and tonic and a brandy and coke.
Toilets are downstairs where there is also a cloakroom and photo booth, smoking area is like a cattle pen at the rear, all fenced in and crammed. Go out the front!
m. f.
It's not all negative. The venue is great, the staff are efficient, however, we did wait we'll over an hour for food. How they dealt with the problem is where they made the marks up. Very attentive and efficiently. The manageress did herself proud. Can't remember her name but from abroad. Well done to you.
W. M.
Fantastic place the food is exceptional and the staff are brilliant. Only 4 stars I can't drink beer so my posion is malt whisky and when a establishment of that size runs out and can only offer Japanese Malt whisky it's time to leave that's why.
The bar man did kindly gave me me a taster unfortunately I could only put it's taste close to aviation fuel.
I will go back as I do like the place but only if they have a stock of malt from Scotland and I will ask first.
J. H.
I have been to a countless number of bars across the world from Las Vegas to Ibiza to Barbados and can honestly say Albert Schloss Manchester has perfected the hybrid bar / club experience. The music, clientele and atmosphere are all fantastic. My only suggestion for improvement would be to extend the opening hours, so the enjoyment can lash even longer. Brilliant spot and a must for anyone seeking a world class bar experience in Manchester.
P. J.
Loved the food and atmosphere, I would go back when in Manchester again
P. H.
Lovely Sunday afternoon with hubby. Nice surroundings with swing entertainment band, gospel and DJ. Food very good and reasonably priced. Mixed crowd, couples, groups and even a few families. What a nice venue. Our waitress Estelle the ' Malaga Princess' was 👌 awesome! Thank you for the best birthday 🎂 ...afternoon 💕
J. P.
Great staff, atmosphere food and definitely cocktails. I recommend the lamb kofta on flatbread ,delicious and raspberri royale cocktail , more please
D. R.
The bar was recommended by a local friend and I was not disappointed. Great bar, visited Friday evening - amazing atmosphere, good live music, people were dancing, customers were super friendly, it was not overcrowded and did not have to wait too long to order a drink. Really enjoyed myself.
H. L.
Had a fantastic night last night with family on a weekend visit to Manchester. Excellent staff on all levels from door to bar to management.
The live music was great. The show later on had the whole place dancing and singing.
Thank you for a superb night!
J. M.
Loved the atmosphere and design of the place, great live music and bouncing on a Sunday evening 😀
M. F.
Beautiful, busy bar, even during the mid afternoon on a Wednesday, but still amazing service from all staff, however big credits to the young bartender Alex, who attended to us for our stay, offering us recommendations, while being extremely fast, and keeping up with the other customers without rushing us and still making delicious and beautiful cocktails.
We didn’t get a chance to say thank you to him before we had to go but he made our visit perfect.
B. H.
You all made our anniversary one to remember. From the service to the food and the fabulous entertainment we had a ball... we will definitely be back
L. T.
Probably one of the best bars in Manchester!
The beer selection is incredible, the food is top notch and a little slice of authentic Bavaria!
Hats off to Michelle as well. She was an absolute legend and deserves a pay rise! Super star!
c. b.
Good service and nice chilled music food was amazing
C. B.
Great place, great food, great drinks.
Staff and service is always friendly and professional.
Always enjoy the live music at weekends as well.

The shows, acts and events were fantastic! Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing place, the food was beautiful the service is stunning, dog freindly place. Deffinitly going back, we loved it. Highly recommended!
d. p.
Great place with lovely food. We always return here with pleasure
P. L.
I would like to say that this was one of the best restaurants I have visited for a long time. It was my birthday and the very kind waiter greeted us and wished me a very happy birthday. He didn't stop there, he also went out of his way to surprise me with a brownie and chocolate sauce saying "Happy Birthday (my name)". This waiter should definitely be praised! Well done Alberts Schloss and thankyou for making my birthday that little bit extra special.
K. W.
If you need a wild party night out in town with classic anthems and singalong tunes from just about every decade then look no further. So good to see so many people having a great night out after the spectre of Covid that has hung over us all for the past two years. Must visit venue for a wild one!
J. P.
Pleasant environment, good Pilsner Urquell, excellent prepared shirlon steak. A lot of vegetables.
O. J.
One of the greatest drinking and eating big venues in the city centre. Strong German beers, good service, delicious food. Cheeseburger. Full marks.
m. e.
A decent place in town with plenty of choice of beers, a bit empty because of the restrictions but with the stage , live music and the size of the place it looks like it would be a great place to spend the evening when things are back to normal
J. G.
Could not recommend this place enough!! Great atmosphere and lovely staff. Dancing on a bench and a free photo booth what more could you want. Big thank you to door and bar staff for looking after me last night and getting a guy away from me that was making me feel uncomfortable.
M. D.
Reserved table for five the day before visit , and asked. If we could bring on a dog , arrived today and table had been Reserved, staff friendly polite and attentive, drinks served at table , breakfast menu was small but was excellent quality, had Haus Breakfast , and salmon and poached eggs, great, not rushed for table, our dog was offered bowl of water, which was accepted, excellent selection of beers wines and spirits available, only down side was condition of gents toilets could do with a deep Clean! But 4 stars from me
B. A.
Great atmosphere. The food was lovely - big fan of the pretzels, sweet mustard, and pickles!
I had the Honey Bratz, Chicken Paprikash, and Black Forest Gateau.
The waiting staff were really nice as well.
R. R.
Lovely big place, deco is so nice and plenty of seats!
Kids are allowed.
The cocktail list is limited and looked old but it was still very nice!
C. J.
We came for a team night out in Manchester, were looked after by Maximus. We were looked after all night amazingly! Service with a smile too, really chatty and friendly! Definitely the bar tender of the night after all the bars we had gone in!
s. s.
Great service and fantastic food .The curry wurst was fantastic.
A. K.
Excellent place to go very friendly staff, impeccable bar and live music. Just note its usually quite busy here which obviously is a sign of success but if you are looking for quiet drinks maybe come early in the week!
C. D.
Super quick service! Couldn't believe how fast our food came out! Really delicious, great atmosphere too. Loved the live music!
K. J.
Great atmosphere. The food was fantastic great gravy
K. D.
Everytime we visit always a lovely meal and staffs.
B. J.
Been meaning to go to Albert’s for ages now, I pass the one in Birmingham a lot but it’s always full so I’ve been unable until now.
Amazing atmosphere for starters, the decor and building is beautiful.
When we ordered the waiter wasn’t able to tell us the difference of the beers which was a shame so we just had to take a gamble. But the beers were nice anyway.
Ordered the garlic bread and the hummus with flatbread to start, garlic bread was one of the best I’ve ever had, so light and fluffy but the flatbread was extremely tough unfortunately.
For some reason once our starters were cleared we had to wait over half an hour for our mains (two burgers and fries) and when they arrived they were extremely over cooked and tough, I only ended up eating the sauerkraut and pickles out of the burger and half the bun…
It was a shame, but it hasn’t put me off returning - I just won’t be ordering burgers.
G. C.
A great place to visit even on a Tuesday night it was buzzing.
E. C.
Absolutely cracking night out and great food. If you happen to be at the manchester exhibition centre, don't risk the food there, get yourself to Schloss, it's only a 3 minute walk and it doesn't show on trip advisor in restaurants so you can usually get a table when the rest of town is busy. Very civilised midweek night out.
M. G.
Great beer selection, especially Pislner Urquell, Kozel. Also the food and service is superb welcoming and on top of everything will return great place for food and drink
P. F.
Lovely bar. Fantastic range of alcohol and food looked amazing.
Y. W.
A very lively atmosphere at night and amazing German food! The portion was pretty big, ordered a fondue and Schweinshaxe. All perfect.
D. E.
Went here for food. There are a few veggie and vegan options. The interior and atmosphere is really nice. One of the nicest restaurants I have sat in especially around Christmas time when we went. I had the vegan burger which was ok, my partner had the vegan aubergine kebab and said it was very nice. My family had meat dishes and said they were good. My friend also had the vegan burger and didn't really like it. The price is pretty reasonable. Was a bit disappointed with my main otherwise would have given 5 stars. Would definitely try the place again, the venue is also in the later evening used for live music and for drinking and dancing.
C. R.
Amazing place. Great bar staff, great selection of drinks, wines and cocktails. Awesome entertainment! Had the best night here.
L. A.
The place is incredible. We had 2 Bloodys... Bartender was a bit inexeperienced ( no celery salt, no celery garnish, throwing technique needs to improve, can't use your hand to touch ice and garnish, spice level was unable to be change ) but very polite and fast . All staff was very kind, the place was very clean and the atmosphere was wonderful ! On the whole a great experience.
l. B.
Lovely large bar and restaurant. Reservations team are very accomodating with seating requests to seat the hidden needs of guests.
Cocktails are just ok for the price in comparrision to the quality of similar priced drinks accross the road.
A. T.
Enjoyed good food and drinks, good ambience, live music... I had a best night out with my friends and family. Expensive but remarkable!
R. W.
The food here is fantastic good quality and very tasty. Warm atmosphere /vibe . Central fire and seating area for drinks as you walk in. Staff friendly and helpful . Only thing to fault was that I felt quite cold by the window , even though it was shut i felt the draught. Very happy will come back again.
M. L.
This is our new favourite bar! Great decor, massive selection of beers, live music! I regret I didn't discover this place sooner!
The pretzel served with mustard and gherkin was amazing! Great snack if you don't feel like a proper meal. Kebab was the best kebab I've ever had! Definitely recommend! Sausage seemed a bit too expensive for what it was, or maybe I'm just used to Christmas Market price. Still amazing experience in total.
A. L.
Visited on the 2nd August — we got a table on the day. I think Sundays can be busy. My advice is to book in advance, either by their website or telephoning them. Excellent atmosphere and plenty of seating. Table 1 is in the corner, you don't feel like you're in the way, and it is quiet. It was busy, and we were given something we didn't order — there wasn't any apology as such, but they took it off the bill. You would expect the staff to check how your food. They could do better with the service. In the end, we had the Currywurst Platter — you can share this with another person.
d. b.
Went to a birthday party. Great atmosphere and good drinks
C. W.
Great beer! I love the atmosphere & the Gin collection. Visit early afternoon if you don't like crowds.
T. D.
Lovely cocktails great service!! X
J. L. P.
Staple Manchester venue. Vibrant bar with live shows and great atmosphere in the evening. Great dining during the day.
Brunch dishes and pastries are delicious, the full breakfast I had was memorable. The cronuts are a must try.
A go to spot for a good time and good food.
N. W.
Great atmosphere and superb selection of beers.
D. G.
A brilliant place, some lovely Sunday music on, incredibly tasty cocktails made without any fuss and with plenty of speedy, nice and clean with welcoming door staff and bar staff will definitely be back to try the food and sample more well priced cocktails
D. L.
Really good atmosphere, service was good, friendly and attentive.
There is a good choice of food on offer, as well as drinks and all reasonably priced. The portions are also generous.
A. M.
Had a wonderful mother's day with my daughter, staff really friendly lovely atmosphere, dog friendly 😊 as we booked this in advance, our dog is 6months old and gets excited around people, but some people did not accept this really unfriendly and got annoyed about the dog being there, that didn't spoil the day management were really nice and resolved this, thankfully all was a nice day
S. F.
Love it here. Great beer and cocktails. Did someone say Happy Hour Monday to Friday 4-7?
R. H.
Love this place!! 😍😍 Decor is BEAUTIFUL, food and coffee is amazing. Haven't been there at night but definitely aim to when we return. There is a stage for live music and the bar looks amazing. Didnt want to leave! Manchester is so lucky!!
H. I.
Stopped for a quick breakfast this morning. Been before here, but was long time ago and only for a couple of pints on the evening time!
I got a lactose intolerance so it’s always a bit difficult to eat out! The staff and and my server was absolutely welcoming, helpful and nice. Double checked everything with a kitchen to make sure everything will be free from lactose! Was perfect and a really nice coffee on the end, thank you Agne!
Highly recommend it 😊
R. M.
A great place for a great night out and a bite to eat. Friday and Saturdays are the best with the weirdest cabaret you’ve ever seen!!! The food is fantastic with plenty of choice. The beers aren’t cheap but I think they are worth it for the surroundings. You could start at 5pm and go all the way through to 1am!!
J. C.
Nice selection of beers, great food and good atmosphere. A fun place to grab some food and a couple of drinks.
B. B.
Excellent, vibrant relaxing German style restaurant/bar.
Great atmosphere, brilliant free live music, well during acts all drinks have a surcharge on top, only £1 extra.
Tried a few place's in Manchester, this place is definitely worth a visit.
Service is as fast as can be expected for such a lively busy establishment.
Food is such good value/fresh & tasty too.
The server gave excellent reccomemdations, always a good idea allowing the server's to sample the menu so they know how the food they serve tastes.
D. H.
In all honesty, I booked this last minute the night before and after reading some of the reviews I was apprehensive about the experience, mainly the staff and especially the doormen but that couldn't be further from the truth... They were exceptional...
... The doormen could tell we were the quiet type so went out of their way to get us straight in as we already booked ahead of those queuing for drinks...
The staff inside were amazing and very efficient, even though I didn't have a clue what they were saying over the noise lol and my ears were ringing like I'd attended a rock concert afterwards...
... I didn't find it that expensive like others mentioned to be honest and found it value for money, especially the food and my wife said the cider was very nice... We also enjoyed the food on the whole as well...
... Overall a great experience all though there was a hell of a lot of very drunk people and it's in a very rowdy areas around the Deansgate area so if you're quiet and knocking on a bit like me, it might be best to not stop too late...
... A couple of meat heads started wrestling on the table next to me and started pushing over to our table but thankfully they stopped just in time before it got really ugly... I get the impression it can turn on an instant in this place and you can inadvertently get involved in a mass punch up so I don't think it's for older couples the way it's run at the moment... I'd rather they targeted the higher-end demographic and couples instead of being a cash grab in who they let in so will probably not go there again but for groups it's probably the perfect night.

Cracking night out. The place makes me want to move up to Manchester. We need Bars like this down south!! I first found Alberts in March on my first trip to Manchester. Now, on my second trip some 6 months later, I frequented all 3 nights of my short stay. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. Rum, Cocktails and Beers to die for. Great banter with the Team. Excellent Bar!! As in EXCELLENT! Perhaps the best Bar I’ve visited in the last 5+ Years!!
T. N.
Burger amd Kebabs were very tasty.
Service was ok.
Beer selection great.
Price pretty decent.

I tried German beer and it was absolutely excelent there. Sirloin of Lancashire Beef with mashed potato and Yorkshire pudding were good. Cook Haus Cheeseburger felt too dry due to the meat, the buns and pickles were very nice though. Fries are fine.
The pub is big and here were many people, and therefore, it was extremely load. At some moments, I had to shout so other person can hear.
In total, beer should be the main reasons to come in this pub.
J. B.
Lovely place situated in the centre of Manchester. Had outside seating so we could book there during restrictions in covid and it was covered in case of rain. Ordered cocktails which were very nice however the menu is limited to around 8. The food there was extremely nice and reasonably priced. We were served by a male waiter I didn't get his name but although it was busy he was friendly, humourous and attentive. Only main problem was we felt a bit rushed as we were reminded that the table was booked after us by another girl a couple of times (which we were aware of and was just enjoying a post meal beverage) so we were out well within time.
A. L.
This is a very popular and busy German themed bar/restaurant.
Space: Huge areas for both dining and drinking, mix of tables, and picnic style benches which are great for groups. Beautifully decorated, very cosy and warm, clean. Can be a bit dim in some areas so some folks may struggle with the menus.
Food: German style food; spatzle, bratwurst, pizzas, burgers, snitzels. My party tried a mixture of dishes. The wurst was good, spatzle was a tad too salty, starters of bread and pate was excellent (love the slaw and pickles), desserts were okay. The baked Alaska was beautifully presented but be prepared for a sugar rush! It's probably one to share!
Drinks: Great selection of beers, wines. Decent options of cocktails, shots.
Price: Above average. £6 per pint of beer. Starters were £7, mains £12-24.
Accessibility: Very poor. Steps at main entrance. More flights of steps to reach the toilets. No high chairs. Not pet friendly.
Entertainment: There's a stage for live music/acts. Check their website for schedules and line up! Certainly adds to the atmosphere!
Misc: The sound in here is pretty bad. You'll be shouting across the table to be heard and even listening to the entertainment is rather difficult. They really need to have softer material to help with the sound.
Overall, I still really like this places despite a few misgivings.

Went to Albert schloss for the first time on the 4th of may for my bday and Jack Lawrence was definitely the best bar tender in Manchester, thankyou so much you’re an angel xxx
V. T.
This place looks super fancy, especially from the outside! We got the bratwurst and currywurst - currywurst was better but they were both good.
They have a free photobooth downstairs which was fun :)

Gorgeous experience! My friend and I went for her birthday, staff did an EXCELLENT job in making this day special for us. The complementary dessert was such a nice touch to our night! The waitress also saw that I was low on a particular sauce so brought me extra (she didn’t have to). On top of that, the food was great!
S. W.
This is my favourite place to eat in Manchester. No matter what time of day we have been the staff are always amazing and the food is perfect. Staff are happy to answer questions on the food and drinks menu and recommend based on your preferences when you just cannot choose.
N. M.
Had somewhat of an odd experience. 1st visit to the bar, as tourists, seemed like the bartenders were not taking a liking to us, giggling behind the counter after we asked a question. Then for dinner, we had the most amazing experience with service, tasty food and a live DJ! Dont forget to do the photobooth downstairs!
L. K.
Went recently for a Saturday lunch and even though it was busy service was good and drinks came quickly. Food was lovely.
Only negative is that they advertise as dog friendly but when we tried to bring our dog in they says it was only small dogs.

Bouncers are legends!
Got lost in Manchester on a work trip, trust me my phone dies and they got the bar to charge it while letting me and my friend in to wait so we could get back to our b&b. Absolute legends of Manchester!!
F. C.
The food was very good and reasonably priced, we went when they had 50% off which made it even better. I had breakfast tea and brioche French toast with bananas and caramelized pecans. The textures and flavours were amazing, it was very filling. Everything was nicely presented and the service was good.

If you’re after the sweet stuff, go Albert’s Schloss...like NOW!
In a deceptively massive place in the centre of Manchester, Albert’s Schloss provides all sorts of menu options to tickle your fancy. It’s a lovely, airy place that is perfect for sit down meals or just chilling at their centre bar.
At the moment in time, they have an offer of 50% off the breakfast menu (not drinks) until the end of August and is only valid Mon-Thurs 8am-11.30am with advanced booking (excludes bank holiday). We’re so glad we used it because all we can say is Kronuts!
Our food intake for the day was;
Veggie Royal Breakfast [£12] - A really good option for when you can’t decide which particular item you want as you get a bit of everything. We shared this, because we wanted to keep space for the sweet stuff. The bread was a little hard on the outside but was perfectly soft in the middle, and we believe all the bread is made in-house so imagine if it had just been fresh out of the oven. The veg black pudding was a bit random and didn’t have much of a taste. However, the sunny-side egg, potato rosti and smashed avocado was bravo!
Brioche French Toast - Banana [£9] - Pure, sweet, sugary banana goodness. They definitely didn’t skimp on the banand and the maple syrup provides that sugary kick you didn’t know you were craving. Completely melts in your mouth and we’re still drooling over this now
Kronut - Peanut Butter & Chocolate [£4] - Our table was situated right next to the table of sweet goodies, and boy, it made the choice difficult picking one. This was absolutely divine with the rich peanut butter being balanced out with the mellow chocolate. The perfect combination and we want it right now...gimme gimme gimme
Already planning our next trip to try out the other Cruffins & Kronuts available mmmmmmmm

Absolutely love this place! Very nicely decorated and great atmosphere. The food was very tasty and there's a decent selection of drinks. Highly recommend the Sunday roasts. Staff were helpful and friendly
L. M.
This was AMAZING!!!!!
There food is so good and the milkshakes are awesome. The staff are very interactive and the place is nice and clean. I would definitely recommend it to others. If you go, downstairs there is a photo booth which takes free photos to take which look awesome.
Would eat there everyday if possible.
C. W.
Awesome place, lovely cocktails and the best bar snacks!! Favourite place in Manchester.
L. C.
Really good atmosphere, I didn't eat but the food menu looked great.
C. L.
Finally a German restaurant that does not just offer the usual Bavarian stereotypical dishes. Albert’s Schloss interprets German dishes in a genuine and modern way. Its menu includes German-Turkish food as well as northern German fish dishes. The sourdough is on point. Love their disseminated Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. I am so pleased with everything about it, from the tasteful menu with nice quotes and puns to the attentive staff. Just a great place!
M.
Food was good, beer was great, and atmosphere was 10/10. The music was fun and our group of 8 people didn't feel rushed or in the way. It's a large venue but there are enough sections and areas that we had a great time. There's shuffleboard to play and even push for gravy buttons!
A. A.
What a beautiful restaurant! Great customer service, and a nice experience overall.
Pictured: crayfish eggs benedict, brioche French toast with berries, and a blood orange cruffin.
- The hollandaise sauce was a bit disappointing- bland and watery, but the amount of crayfish served makes up for the sauce.
- The French toast is a winner. No faults.
- Will probably pass on future cruffins bc they’re super decadent.
L. B.
I’ve walked in to Albert’s Schloss a couple of times in the evening and walked straight out again because it has been absolutely heaving, but it was a whole different story first thing Saturday morning. My friend and I didn’t struggle to find a seat, the staff offered friendly table service, the food was lovely and we were sat chatting for quite a while after we finished but didn’t feel at all rushed.
The cruffin I had was supper sweet but with a cup of coffee to balance the sweetness there were certainly no complaints!

Visited Manchester for the 1st time last week and this was Definitely the best spot in Town. Amazing food, drinks and dancing. This is like a swiss alps/german themed restaurant. Ive never had that kind of food but i loved it. I dont think is traditional alpine fare but rather a contemporary version of it. When you visit this city go there. Youll love it. There was a bit of a line and an hour wait for dinner on a tuesday, when basically everything else was dead. I imagine it probably gets really packed on the weekends. So if you are going on the weekend Id try and get reservations.
***Id like to add. The prices of food and drink very reasonable. ****
L. b.
Had an amazing night, such a good atmosphere on the bank holiday weekend, the bouncers were lovely as well
P. C.
Place is lovely, service is great. Girlfriend got the bagel and love it. The Royal breakfast was okay, size was unbelievable... Maybe I'd just built it up too much in my head. I'd definitely go back and maybe get the Crayfish Benedict
A. S.
Fab trendy bar with great beer and great live music. Extremely busy and totally buzzing
C. A.
Me and my partner both overindulged the curry wurst platter. We enjoyed the food but I especially enjoyed the cocktails I tried. We would come back, even if just for a drink.
L. E.
Just had drinks - very busy, band great and a very diverse mix of people - cool!
S. N.
This is the first time we have visited and I have to say it won’t be the last. The place was crowded, but you never got the sense that it was too full. The guys working behind the bar all top notch and you were never left waiting to get served. Absolutely would recommend for a night out.
M. B.
Great place - awesome Beer 🍺 - lovely food - fantastic service
N. D.
Not been for a while due to lockdowns etc, so noticed the menu had increased. Food excellent as usual and staff always very friendly and helpful. Average prices for a town centre venue. You definitely need to book, if wanting food, all very easy to do on line. Though you can just drink, Highly recommend a visit
J. B.
We have never been here before, but what a find. Coffee in the morning then lunch later. We had our grandchildren with us. They absolutely enjoyed both visits ,especially the lunch.
Our meals were just delicious. All plates devoured. We will certainly visit again.
Y. Q.
Amazing place with fresh bread, fresh food and excellent customer service. Went during Xmas period and they had a gospel choir on the weekend. Has a really cosy fireplace and a fantastic bar serving great cocktails. Great atmosphere, even suitable for kids during the day. Also has a free photo booth downstairs ! Toilets also very clean. Can't wait to go back !!
C. F.
Amazing choice of beers. Live music, DJ, imaginative decor. Great tapas style buffet for parties. Great place to loosen up but not for those who prefer quiet conversation
A. B.
Had a brilliant time here last week. Our group was extremely well cared for all evening (thanks Jasmine!) and great live music was a nice surprise as well!
N. C.
Absolutely amazing place. Love the German theme. The food is so good, great quality! Hubby's favourite beers all on tap and a huge selection of drinks besides. Very friendly staff who can't do enough for you. What more can you ask for?!
V. W.
We spent last Sunday in Schloss eating the best roast dinner in the world ! The service was brilliant our waitress Poppy was superb ! The singer was great then the band were fantastic… we were so looked after had friends up from London and they had the most enjoyable day ! Would highly highly recommend… more than 5 stars ⭐️
G. P.
I visited Albert’s Schloss over 3 times for my short stay in Manchester. It was great each time. The variety of signature drinks and classic cocktails and beers is great. The fries with parmesan were quite nice and the cronuts were fabulous. Definitely try the lemon meringue cronut! The G&T menu is really interesting. Also there is a photo booth you can enjoy for free and that is super cool. The venue was also nicely air conditioned.
E. R.
Marcelle was an amazing bartender, great chat and even better cocktails - couldn't have done enough for us, thank you 🤍
I. H.
Nice bar, good atmosphere, went away hungry. I don't expect to have to go to McDonalds after spending £12.50 on a main course. Kaiserwurst was nice and tasty, but wouldn't fill you up.... 🙁
C. H.
Absolutely loved this place! The first bar we visited in Manchester and didn't leave until 2am. Instantly made to feel welcome, the food was lush, beer was cold and the entertainment was cheerful and surprising. We went on a Friday night, and they have a theme every week which is always a surprise. Would definitely go back, I've been telling all my friends about it!
G. M.
4th time at Albert's Schloss (and I live about 200 miles away), and every time it's exceptional. Beer, food, decor, atmosphere, etc is superb. Special mention to our sever Michelle. I'm 52 and enjoy a night out or two, but she was one the best ever! Schloss management, if you don't recognise the gem you have there, then shame on you! Love Albert's Schloss
R. B.
Awesome schnitzel, excellent cocktails, lovely schnapps, fantastic service!
N. H.
Great selection of beers and cocktails, and the food is absolutely fantastic! Personally I prefer evenings during the week, Fridays and weekends can get extremely busy and there aren't enough staff to keep up at what is a very large bar. Bar staff are very friendly and make excellent cocktails, one of my favourite bars in Manchester.
h. b.
One of the best restaurant and bars in Manchester. Food never disappoints and the atmosphere is amazing. Lunch deal £10 for this pizza and chips - definitely worth a visit.
H. M.
Victoria on the bar in the smoking area is top class. Customer service is amazing, brilliant service and cracking personality! She deserves a pay rise!!! Absolute credit to the establishment
G. C.
What a beautiful restaurant and bar! Found this spot when I was Googled "Instagrammable restaurants in Manchester" for lunch and this place did not disappoint! Would love to come back at night for a different vibe in the future.
What I loved!
✓delicious food and drinks (Americano, watermelon asperol spritz & fish frites)
✓chill atmosphere
✓beautiful bar
✓free photo booth by water closets
✓prosecco button on the table (I didn't use it though)
H. B.
Walked in on a cold Friday lunch service. Greater by the lovely roaring fire. A splendid building inside and outside, under the Albert Hall. Large bar area. Plenty of seating, including party friendly benches. A stage for live music, and boasting proper German beers and pils, a “prosseco on demand’ button, schnapps, cocktails etc.
Food wise, this is really just for meat eaters. As a veggie, I was treating a meat eating friend. The veggie choice is bad, and nothing vegan. The meat eater ordered a pork knuckle, which was huge! And served on a bed of red cabbage. My dish was a tiny little thing about 2x3 inch, with some lovely veg, but I felt more than a bit short changed, considering the cost of this tiny affair. Three side dishes of mashed potatoes, broccoli and Brussel sprouts. And although al these dishes very tasty, they lacked in quantity.. Poor value. The meat eater loved his dish, mine was tasty, but again, I felt poor value.. I was also disappointed the house pilsner was served quite warm. I know it’s a personal taste, but for me this was disappointing in a restaurant and bar specialising in German food.
Service was ok, just a tad tardy. Took four attempts to get the bill. And on arrival I felt we where just kind of pointed at to sit down, not offered a drink or anything till we taken to sit at one of the benches.
Good, could have been better. No real veggie choices, warm beer, and service that could have been a lot better.
P. H.
Wonderful Monday lunch. The staff are fantastic and very welcoming to our dogs
D. S.
I love this place, from its alpine feel to its beer and food selection. I don't know how genuine it is but it really feels like a genuine and honest place and not some lame beerkeller
S. A.
Beautiful place, with great music, good drinks, beautiful people. Beautiful bathroom. And the best is the photo maker available for free. I'll be back soon
Z. C. (.
Awesome place with cool cocktails and good range of beers and spirits. Very nice design and cool photo booth downstairs. Bar staff were very nice and they have live music there too. Lovely entrance with a lot of flowers. A bit pricey though.
k.
Had to wait around 15 minutes at the bar to be served , moved to the front of the bar and got completely ignored and someone else got served first who waited 5 minutes😳. However we had a dog with us and a waiter did bring us a bowl of water for him as well as a Puppachino! Which was so lovely of him as we didnt even ask, so thankyou for that (all I remember was that he had tattoos). Will definitely be coming back soon!
J. R.
We visited here on Christmas Eve, there was a great atmosphere, there was a live band who were brilliant, the drinks are reasonable for a city centre venue, we didn't eat here but the food being served looked really good we will be returning.
A. G.
Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was really busy. Elements of a German beer hall in Munich or Berlin but with a British twist on style. Impressive selection of beers including some brewed to the traditional methods. Will have to try out the food next time!
c. r.
Lovely and vibrant atmosphere. There was a live act on we went, was really good. Very busy place too, highly recommend to visit
A. Y.
Great service and amazing food. The venue has got a great vibe/atmosphere and situated close to the 5 star hotel. Central location.
J. R.
Always a great vibe in here reasonably priced drinks friendly and helpful bar staff and live music too definitely one of my favourite places to socialise in Manchester you won't be disappointed.
s. d.
On entry, staff were quite rude and unhelpful. After being told to wait outside, we were then told we were late for the booking and staff were very condescending when dealing with this.
Once at the table, bar staff and waiters were great. But won't hurry back.
z. h.
The best place I ever been. Highly recommend it
S. D.
great food and drink friendly atmosphere and staff will be visiting again in December when we visit Manchester. thankyou
J. P.
Great place for large groups - we went as a group of 10 and service was swift. Menu choice was good with wide variety of food. Food reasonable value e.g. £3.00 for starter of large bowl of good quality olives, £9 for very good cheese burger. Beer excellent. Went on a monday night and there was a good buzz despite being quieter than normal.
C. h.
The place was packed. Little wait outside in the queue for some to come out before I could go in and that was at 7pm. Great beer.
Went there last night, pre booked table and no queue outside. Superb food and the beer is still quality
S. T.
Great service, fabulous food and drink...amazing atmosphere...perfect as they are known for
A. H.
Visited here for my daughters birthday. Really nice bar with great staff who were very helpful. Food was very nice and came quite quick. We had a booth and to have more fizz and drinks we just pressed the button which, was great. Downstairs they had a free photo booth. We had fun taking a few pictures whist visiting the ladies. Really nice bar a definite place to visit and the purple flowers dealing around the entrance make the bar very special.
Y. C.
Nice, apart from the sausage...
We think the music is a bit too loud, hardly enjoy conversation. Very friendly service.
T. N. G.
Excellent service and food. The ambiance is very iconic and cozy. Highly recommend for groups and families during the day. The nights are more bangers, Tuesday nights are extra special!
J. B.
Decent vegan options though slightly confusing and inconsistent signage of veggie and vegan in the menu.
Great beer with Pilsner Urquell tank and good service too.
K. C.
Best place in Manchester. Had a lovely weekend away in Manchester and went to Albert's Schloss twice! Once for brunch - recommend booking ahead of time because it's so popular. All their baked goods are made in house and we tried a lot of them. Super delicious and staff was so kind and accommodating.
Second time we went in was Saturday night and it was absolutely heaving. They had a live band and a DJ. People were dancing on the benches(signs indicate that it is totally allowed, which is kind of them.)
Now....I'm embarrassed to say but I must admit we came back a third time 😂for lunch (best fries, so crispy!) and took pastries to go for some friends.
Needless to say, I loved it. Miss it. Thank you for the fab time
S. H.
Absolutely incredible place! We were looking for somewhere to go for drinks on a Wednesday night and ended up walking past Schloss on the way to somewhere else. Well after a drink in the place we went to we decided to come back here after seeing how busy it was. We had no idea that there was live music, but it was so good! Amazing atmosphere, everyone was so friendly, really good music and really good drinks. The most fun night out we've had in a while! Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Manchester!
D. B.
Great crowd and entertainment. Drag and cabaret made the atmosphere brilliant.
D. S.
Only called in for one drink, great place, nice atmosphere.
Was mid afternoon on a Wednesday. Bet its buzzing later on and towards the weekend.
M. H.
Busy after the great Manchester run, but cool live music and good service.
D. W.
Been here a few times for beer and it was a nice atmosphere and would be great for winter next to the wood burning fire. Went for food for the first time and it was amazing quality and well cooked. Difficult to find such good quality in the city these days and this Albert schloss is one of a few.
J. L.
We were really excited to get a reservation at Albert's Schloss, as we had heard nothing but good things. Live music and good food are our main loves in life so it sounded pretty perfect for us.
The food was tasty, service in the restaurant was quite good (although slow at times) and the cocktails and range of drinks available were brilliant.
However, the reason for the loss of two stars was that we were disheartened by the apparent selective entry requirements by the venue's security. Luckily for us, we had a reservation in the restaurant, but before making the door team aware of this they said "there's no way you're getting in wearing that", referring to one of our party wearing three-quarter length trousers (with smart shoes and a shirt I will add) whereas, many others were being let in wearing far less, and with more informal clothing. We couldn't quite understand why one member of our party was singled out when they looked just as smart and had put just as much effort into their dress as everyone else.
The security also seemed to look for an argument at any opportunity. One member of our party asked to turn a chair around to sit on from a big table as it seemed that only half of them were being used. The group all said it was fine and that the chair wasn't being used. The second this happened, a member of the security team came over and demanded we put it back and stand up as "we had not booked to sit at this table". This reaction seemed completely unnecessary considering that all the members of the booking said we could sit down. When we politely explained, he still persisted that we put it back.
Not a terrible experience overall, but one that left us a little deflated considering that the rest of our experiences in the wonderful welcoming city of Manchester were excellent.
B. H.
Awesome, great food awesome beers and greatvstaff
J. M.
I know lots of people rave about this place and it was good the atmosphere was good for a week night but im sorry the service from bar staff is shocking.. wait times are horrendous
T. D.
Fav bar in Manchester
Great drinks and atmosphere even in these grim times
Brilliant

Right in the centre of Manchester, you’ll find the widely popular Albert’s Schloss, this Bavarian-themed restaurant is one you would recognise from miles away as with its distinctive floral archways that welcome you in.
upon entry one of the members of staff asked if we would like a booth table or regular table in the other side of the restaurant, we agreed on a booth as they looked more private than the other tables. A major plus for these booths was that they had their own ‘press for prosecco’ button, which would be ideal for an evening meal if you didn’t want to fight the queue at the bar for a little bit of bubbly. To start we had a Black Forest Cronut and a Cinnamon croissant pastry, these came within five minutes and were served with a delicious molten chocolate dipping sauce. We also both opted for the ‘Haus Breakfast’, and we were definitely not disappointed. It came in around fifteen minutes and included Kaiserwurst sausage, maple bacon, eggs, mushroom, potato rosti, beans and a tomato. It was exceptional. The size was easily enough for both of us but we soldiered on and managed most of it each. Every element of the breakfast was superb and the service attentive but not over intrusive.
Overall, we believe that we ordered too much with pastries and a full breakfast, we definitely left in a food coma. We would highly recommend this as a great brunch spot in Manchester, the only downside is that it is at the pricey end of the scale for brunch in Manchester.

The Cook Haus breakfas was so delicious, the mini kaiserwurst was my favourite and I just wish I got a breakfast with the full sized sausage. Treacle cured bacon was as delicious as it sounds and that sourdough toast dunked in the sunyside egg yolk was top notch. The hash brown was sehr gut and not greasy like your usual Hashy-Bs.
Washed down with orange juice and coffee I then devoured my cruffin.... A double chocolate croissant/muffin hybrid of pure chocoholic crack.
D. R.
Great building and great bar. Just make sure you go before 5pm or book a table, as its realllllllly popular!
N. S.
Nice vibe. Lively. Free photo booth. Only 1 a star down due to my personal preference in music but otherwise cool place.
a. p.
This place is just fantastic!! The food, the drinks, the staff!! The whole ambiance of the place is just great, once i'm there I don't want to leave!!
P. M.
An amazing place with fantastic staff. Went in with my sons and brother. Great buzz about the place and plenty of people to make your stay pleasant. Foods fantastic and the beer 😘
A. O.
Great bar in Central Manchester, great atmosphere and knowledgeable bar staff. Food and drink
L. B.
What's not to love about this bar brilliant cocktails fab ambience
G. G.
Love this place. I have watched the Pride parade from here 2 years on the run. The food and drinks are fantastic. They bake a great bread with bacon in it I recommend everyone try this. Cocktails are great and if you talk to the wonderful staff they can help you choose.
D. G.
Absolutely lovely. Food. Atmosphere. Live music 🎶. Staff. X Will definitely be going again. X
J. B.
Excellent food and great service! Cocktails and food were yummy! Make sure you save room for a cruffin or cronut! Thank you to our waiter Janusz!
T. J.
Gezellig! Enjoyed the live music. Good place to dance of have a seat with your loved ones.
M. B.
Good selection of beer, superb service. There's usually live music. They also have a bakery onsite - not necessarily traditional German but still better than normal bread.
Music's always very loud, food looks great but is rather bland. Long queues and extremely crowded at night.
A. W.
The staff here are always very friendly and attentive. The food is always well presented and full of flavour. Special thanks to Janusz for looking after us today 👌
Y. C.
Well what else can be said about this local institute... Its there for a long time and that is for a good reason. In albert u know u gonna get the most poshi crowd in manchester on top of great music and live shows. The food is decent and the cocktail menu is pretty huge. The place is divided with a seating area the bar and the place near the stage where u can show your dancing skills. Definitely my favorite place in the city...
P. W.
Worth a visit for the selections of beers, lagers, shorts, cocktails etc. City prices but you pay for quality.
A. M.
Such nice food and good service. The location is perfect right in town and its such a nice space. In the night time on weekends it can be a it too over crowded and uncomfortable to be honest it's really hard to get to the bar and stuff but I guess just means business is good for them so not a terrible thing
C.
Great atmosphere with live music, good choice of food, meatball starter was delicious, excellent service and a fantastic selection of beer including Tank Pilsner Urquell, the worlds first pilsner!
D. N.
Love the Czech beer from tank, more tasty than in Czech Republic, I know as I am originally from Czech Republic :)
P. L.
I do like their whole ambience each time I've been whether it's for drinks or brunch. The food's nothing to rave about but I do have high standards and they're pretty decent. Drinks are amazing. Always pride on their decor which is a plus, very pleasing to the eye
n. j.
Loved the vibe and great food and drink selections, live bands were excellent
A. E.
Great place but mega expensive drinks.. don't know how they get to charge soooo much for drinks and get away with it..
a. g.
Its a great place to go with friends for a night out. Lovely music, delicious cocktails and amazing beer!
A. O.
Lively good music excellent food and service .looking forward to next visit
H. B.
Great staff, busy place with people smart/casually dressed. Live performances and a communal vibe. Restaurant that isn't fully separated from the bar area for a more relaxed experience.
S. C. W.
Food was excellent! Only let down was the very loud band making dinner conversation almost impossible
y. Q.
The food was not good as I expected. We ordered pork knuckle and lamb cutlet for main course. The pork knuckle was worse than the same dish I ate in Germany. Meat was not tender and tooooo salty :(
The taste of lamb was bad and weird. Also, it's not ripen.
For the service, the usher/greeter was spiritless, and ignored his guests for a long time. So embarrassed. But other waiters or waitresses were friendly and helpful.
C. A.
Fantastic venue, very busy and a great buzz around the venue. Great range of food and drinks. Lovely and friendly staff. Witnessed management having to deal with a complaint and they handled it amazingly. Enjoyed every visit.
M. H.
Great choice of beer and some quality food, with good vibes.
My guess to place in Manchester 🍻👍🏻
S. M.
Good bar, shame they dont sell more German beers though - a dunkel would be nice.
c. h.
Great place to go. Very good staff and attentive. Great beers and drinks. Food is good. My only issue with the Currywurst Platter was the sauce was over everything. In Germany the fries are on the side and much better for it. I don’t like chips and gravy either so no xenophobia! Would fully recommend
L. M.
I go here all the time, the drinks are great, but expensive.
Food is very average for the price, most of my table didn't finish their food.
Always book a table if you're in a large group!
Great atmosphere, always very busy and tends to have live entertainment and music on Fridays and Saturdays
d.
Cracking night out - good grub, good beer, live music - only had one night there and will certainly go back
A. C.
My second home. They have a great deal between 4-7 on prosecco. The food is delicious, the service really smooth, and the entertainment is brilliant. Check out when they have the piano players on.
A. R.
Absolutely amazing place, awesome music and drinks. The bouncers are absolutely incredible!! Women can feel safe here, the bouncers are there to protect you. I will definitely, 100% be coming here again. Love it!!!
A. P.
They're currently selling a takeaway package, the Royale Weekendee - beer growlers, coffee martinis, sourdough, and most importantly giant soft pretzels! Take a pro tip and add a few things to make a pizza pretzel - worth the extra effort!
H. C.
Love it here. So busy but so good. Amazing selection of drinks, great guys behind the bar and really good live music. Haven't actually eaten here yet but the menu looks amazing.
A. P.
Best bar in Manchester for sure! Foods great and staff friendly.
s. m.
At 50% through August, it's very reasonable. I enjoyed my crayfish benedict Royal and orange and chocolate cruffin. Shame the photo booth wasn't printing any pictures.
H. B.
Went for lunch, food and drinks were both really good! Highly recommend their rich and creamy hot chocolates! Everything on their lunch menu is £10 and for the portion sizes it's pretty good value for money too. Would really like to visit in the evening.
J. S.
Great food! Awesome atmosphere and live soul / Gospel music, loved it!!
P. L.
This place never ever lets you down. Great beers. Good vibes. A must on every city visit.
K. H.
Great atmosphere during the day and lovely food. Service was great
M. M.
One of my favourite places for a night out in Manchester. If you want to have fun- go there and you won't be disappointed.
C. E.
Brilliant place great bier and staff very friendly well done all staff
R. P.
Loved this place. Decent food, quick service and the live music made for a great night
C. D.
Had a fantastic experience at Albert Schloss, having a couple of drinks before going to a concert. Kiera/Ciara (sorry we didn’t get the spelling!) made us feel warm and welcome, as well as being an exceptional bartender! Really enjoyed the cocktails and drinks, will be back for more.
J. C.
Cool place, nice atmosphere, great music and average food - as expected. Main downside is the two wannabe Peaky Blinders who work on the door - they decided my teetotal friend wasn’t coming in because they’d had too much to drink. They act like they’re on door at Berghain and need to realise it’s Manchester!
A. S.
Great food, great drinks, great music! Perfect place to go out and have fun with friends after work or on the weekend!
J. B.
Nice Breakfast, nice Staff, nice Laden!
P. W. (.
Absolutely fantastic night. Food was superb, entertainment provided by very talented band. Great night for Abbies birthda celebrations.

Came here for a Sunday roast. Was absolutely beautiful. From the starter to the dessert. Excellent service nothing was any trouble. The owner walking around talking to customers was amazing. Really nice vibes in the whole place. Highlight of our visit to Manchester was coming here.
M. P.
visited on Sunday for Sunday roast. I am very impressed with the quality and quantity of it. Meat was very tender and vegetables were very tasty. Definitely I will come back and thank you Fran(cisca) providing an excellent service
R. O.
Breakfast visit, so the rating is based on this visit only. Short varied menu that's well priced. Exceptional service from two very knowledgeable waitresses...happy to answer detailed questions with a smile!

Great food, staff very nice ,couldn't do enough. Atmosphere lovely .Great spot.
E. W.
Nice atmosphere and a great selection of beer including a Gluten free one
A. N.
Top notch place to have a dinner and spend the evening, (there was a dj playing music and even people dancing later at night!) The place is also stunningly beautiful! And had probably the best tap beer i've ever had, fresh Pilsner Urquell in tanks straight from Czech Republic they advertised :D
S. C. E. C.
Wonderful place for breakfast where my wife and I went back a number of times during our time in Manchester
M. D.
It's a lot of fun. Seems to be good live bands every night of the week. Dancing on tables, meeting random people. The only downside is the astronomical drinks prices - £25 for 2 rum and cokes ...
K. S.
Atmosphere is great. The service is good. The food not so great. We ordered the truffle fries, pretzel with bier cheese, and croquettes. Everything was cold. Who wants to dip cold pretzel into cold coagulated cheese? Not me. Food is revolting, but i would come back for drinks only, hence the 3 stars.
D. S.
Expensive but good location if you're looking to impress. It does get really packed on weeknights, but the food is hearty and well made.
L. R.
Lovely bar, I was only drinking soft drinks and the occasional red bull and thought it was a bit over priced. Very busy all the time, I went on a Wednesday after work and it was like a Saturday night.
C. b.
My fave bar in Manchester hands down. Love that they let you dance on the benches when live bands are on. Love the log fire. Love the photobooth. In a city full of 'chain' bars, this one feels unique and special
C. G.
This is a must visit if you are in Manchester. Wow. From the décor outside to the atmosphere inside this place did not disappoint. Food was exceptional also
C.
The front door is amazing ! Many colors & flowers. The food is really good & the servers are great (we also meet a french server)
D. C.
Went for Sunday lunch. Great staff who were very attentive. I had the vegetarian strudel which was very nice! Gf had the roast beef and it was ok.
C. S.
Not thr boggest fan , always busy so always a queue at the bar , feels too big and therefore lacks sole , but always packed so I guess it's only me who thinks it. Not a fan
S. B.
Busy, loud, table booked but wasn't ready. Food average, food service was good. Drink prices were over the top!
A. F.
Fun and crazy night out. One of the bouncers is s gobby brat but it's a great place
M. a. A.
I would give higher if possible. Menu brilliant wanted to try everything.
The wursts were delicious, perfectly cooked beef burger, Truffle mash was mind blowing, just perfect. Very authentic.
The service was perfect. Agna and the team looked after us and our allergies with detailed and personalised attention. Incredibly friendly throughout despite them being incredibly busy.
Cannot wait to go back.
S. B.
Great atmosphere and lager focused, not for bitter drinkers
P. B.

Very cool bar, I love the atmosphere here. Drinks are amazing and so is the food. They have vegan options on the menu that aren't just vodka and fries! Try the spicy cauliflower kebab it is amazing
D. T.
We went for a Sunday roast and the staff were amazing. We had such a lovely time. Busy and exciting atmosphere but all the staff were lovely and attentive. The roast was second to none and the whole family enjoyed it.
Will be visiting again very soon
J.
Such a fun bar, always busy, sometimes too busy 🤣
M. A.
First experience ate in German restaurant, but it was a great experience tasting one of the best pork knuckle I've ever had.. Crispy skin and moist meat.. The service is really good and friendly front of house staff.. Good place for drinks as well
K. C.

Amazing drinks and food!! The place is so lovely! Thank you Albert Schloss!
G. W.
Lovely venue, Bavarian theme. We had breakfast here which was very nice, although let down with slow service, had to wait half an hour for coffees and had to ask twice for them.
S. D.
Food was amazing, the staff was very helpful very happy
J. G.
Christian and Andrew were extremely helpful and went above and beyond. Love the place, atomsphere and staff.
S. P. H.
Great night apart from some of the door staff .
Who believe they are the best thing since sliced bread and if you're not one of there mates your not getting in why do good places like this think that you need to be on steads to work on a door.
Some of the door staff are great and show everyone the same respect you give them but the door staff that think that being big and having a bad attitude towards anyone who is not there mates should not be able to have a badge and aloud to work on the doors .
I thought this sort of person was stopped from working on doors but I guess we are just told one thing so they can do the other
h. s.
Very long wait for food but staff were apologetic really nice surroundings and atmosphere
B. N.
best bar and restaurants I have been in Manchester
M. T.
Great tank Pilsner Urquell. Excellent pretzels.
I. P.
Great food good service and good beer ...
G. G.
Love this place. I have watched the Pride parade from here 2 years on the run. The food and drinks are fantastic. They bake a great bread with bacon in it I recommend everyone try this. Cocktails are great and if you talk to the wonderful staff they can help you choose.
G. C.
What a beautiful restaurant and bar! Found this spot when I was Googled "Instagrammable restaurants in Manchester" for lunch and this place did not disappoint! Would love to come back at night for a different vibe in the future. …
C. D.
Great night out and place to meet up.
Lost coat and phone ( both, ones not to loose!!)
They had them in lost property and were brilliant
Thank you to all the staff
C. Q.
Great experience thank you. Came on a hen party table 3522 booked 3.30pm Saturday 28.

Very cool bar, I love the atmosphere here. Drinks are amazing and so is the food. They have vegan options on the menu that aren't just vodka and fries! Try the spicy cauliflower kebab it is amazing

Always an amazing place with great beer selection. Great atmosphere despite covid restrictions

Fabulous place. Even gave us a free Valentines cocktail! Six stars!
A. M.
Excellent place. Very generous portions and good prices. Will definitely come back
M. G.
Amazing food, fantastic friendly wait staff. Cannot recommend enough.
H. G.
Very busy with pre Xmas revellers ....Good atmosphere ....tried sitting down at 2 different tables and kept being told we couldn't stay there ...bit off putting
E. W.
Great place too enjoy drinks and dancing with friends for a night. The live band are great. The building itself is really nice and it all creates an enjoyable atmosphere. Will be back again soon.

Atmosphere and Bier
in buckets.
My favourite "tippling" point in Manchester. Great Beers on draught and authentic bier hall feel. Good to be there with friends. Pilsner Urquell fabulous on draught and straight from Pilsen each week. Simply well worth a visit. And anywhere with Paulaner gets my vote!
M. K.
Slightly frustrating front of house service. We were told to sit anywhere because "any tables we need are reserved". Then once sat for ten minutes, a reserved card is plopped on our table and we're told just "your table is reserved from 1.45", i.e. in twenty minutes, with no explanation. And only after a very confused look at the departing staff member, did another staff member suggest we move to another table - though again with no explanation or apology. Could've just said 'sorry, we got a late booking, but we've got this table over here for you'...
That said, obviously nowhere near the end of the world, and otherwise, nice space and nice beer.
T. S.
This place was fantastic. The inside has been done to a very high standard giving off great German beer hall vibes. The food was amazing and can recommend the chilli prawn kebab. Vast options for beers and cocktails. 100% recommend
I. T.
We came to celebrate one of my mates birthday! They gave us free shots for this, thank you! Staff were cool! Loved the music and vibe! Will definitely come back!
A. L. (.
Best bar in Manchester serving the best beer, fresh Pilsner in a chilled glass tankard.
Y. C.
Really good food and great cocktails! We went during the happy hour and got £5 cocktails (which were huge btw) and really tasty! Lovely atmosphere with live music and staff were very friendly and accommodating even though it was busy! 10/10 recommend will definitely go back:)
S. K.
Came in on a Wednesday evening and the place was rocking.
Great Food , Great Vibe and Amazing Service. All inside staff were very attentive and the lads on the door were very friendly and welcoming. Will be back soon 👍🏻 Thank you for a great evening
J. D.
Went for Sunday lunch for a friend's 40th birthday everything about the place was great , atmosphere, drinks and the bands they had on , all topped off with great service from poppy that looked after us for the day thank you we had a great day celebrating 👍😊
a. g.
10/10 just another amazing place to go out in Manchester... some people might not choose this place because it looks proper fancy from the outside, but honestly its a good vibe and u can wear wtv you like during the week. Bouncers are nice and not once i had any problem. THURSDAYS nights!!! OMG OMFG! U must go! Musics loud, live performance, dancing on the benchs are allowed. Perfect to end your night or go after a day of work! Trust me you will enjoy it as much as i, and everyone else does. :)
D. W.
Cracking bar, good staff, good craic and opens late
K. D.
I came here on the 1st of June for a first date, from the moment we were seated the atmosphere was great, and our server Alice was brilliant. Attentive and helpful, and answering our questions as both of us had not been here before, the food and drinks we ordered were tasty and quick to arrive.
I would definitely recommend this place and I would definitely recommend Alice as our server :)
M. M.
Great evening!
Food tasty, drink flowing, staff brilliant!
Will be going again.
A. S.
Brilliant night and really busy on a Wednesday night. Live band were amazing
K. J.
Great atmosphere and great music. Would definitely go again xx
J. E.
Fabulous place. Even gave us a free Valentines cocktail! Six stars!
N. S.
Very nice interior. Food ok but a bit overpriced. Pilsner Urqwell comes from tanks and tastes exactly like in Prague (three times more expensive though). A real downside is loud music. Can't properly talk, need to shout. Nobody's dancing - why turn the volume on?
A. M.
It's a fun vibe. Although the entertainment was a bit too canal street for my tastes.
R. A.
Oh what a night!! Jasmine was so incredibly attentive and considerate towards one of our party’s allergy needs and the atmosphere was PUMPING! Food was superb, sehr gut und Vielen Dank. Bis bald, we’ll definitely be back! 🥳🍻
S. B.
Great food, great drinks, great staff. An amazing place in general.
C. Q.
Great experience thank you. Came on a hen party table 3522 booked 3.30pm Saturday 28.

Nice, German style place.. Very good beer, not many food options, but tasty.. Friendly atmosphere
K. S.
Gorgeous food, staff and atmosphere 🤩🤸♀️👑🥨🍮🍹🍴🏘🎹🎹
M. M.
Best place ever! I am still dreaming of the pretzels and the cocktails! Can't wait to go back. Absolutely awesome 👌
J. H.
Excellent service and enjoyable food. The salted treacle ice -cream is sublime
J. R.
Amazing. Great food drinks and atmosphere with chilled live music. Just the trick after Sunday Lunch
K.
£5 happy hour highball were fab and the food was delicious. I got a chicken schnitzel with German potato salad and I really enjoyed it - it reminded me of the food I used to have when I used to live in Austria. My partner had a vegan wurst, which she also enjoyed. So I would definitely recommend this place!
I was also served by a dark and short haired gent, who said was from southern Poland that we learnt had a grandma from Austria. I'm not certain about his name, but I think it was Crzys? I wanted to commend his service today, as we accidentally didn't manage to tip him. We didn't realise the bill didn't already have a service charge (which is good, as other restaurants are too presumptive). By the time he told us that the service charge wasn't added, we had already clicked 'no' to add gratuity and paid the bill. We didn't have any change either. I hope a complimentary review of his service serves some retribution! Thank you again!
A. G.
Good food and service. Restaurant is well laid out and modern. Paid £21 for a beer and meal.
B. H.
Great brunch, fab service, beautiful interior. Definitely will go back!
G. R.
Amazing food and atmosphere. A ridiculous selection of beers and spirits which meant we were spoilt for choice. Friendly and experienced staff who made the experience even better
C. B.
First visit, lovely place nice atmosphere could just do with a couple more serving. Maybe staff off with covid.
B. E.
First visit for us, good entertainment, was very busy but felt safe
E. L.
Fantastic, modern restaurant. Staff are brilliant. Well done guys.🌸
C. J.
Nice place. Great venue.
A. L.
Great atmosphere just look a while to get served as very busy
J. B.
Even on a Tuesday night, this place was full of atmosphere and great drinks.
R. S.
Lovely bar, good music, good drinks. Grey goose available and not too expensive
W. P.
Amazing place, great atmosphere, very nice food and amazing waitress Magdalena! Absolutely loved it!
H. L.
Nice food, not very german though - just currywurst, spätzle and schnitzel (Austrian) on the menu, plus your regular pub food.
Decent range of drinks. It can be quite a wait for drinks on weekends.
Good atmosphere and music.
Front of house staff were very pleasant.
Door staff were better than on previous occasions but still room for improvement. They're the first people you see when you go to a venue, it's off-putting if they're abrupt or rude.
A. d. G.
Just one of the best breakfast i have ever had! And the beer... Mmm.. Finally one with foam! And 1 day old! loved it!
C. L.
Got recommended to visit this bar by family, spacious with plenty of seats, the layout and design is really colourful and we felt welcome, whilst I was looking for a cocktail I couldn't see my favourite which is Pina colada, the really friendly bar staff said that he will happily make me one anyway which was above and beyond, I then had a pilsner which was very nice
C. C.
Great atmosphere with live music and dj.
c. k.
Awesome venue, great staff, food awesome and great atmosphere
A. C.
It is where the party is at most of the time. Epic Sunday lunches, live music and a beer hall atmosphere. It is a beautiful interior and great place to go with a crowd.
S. V.
Excellent bar, we only had drinks which was served to us by a very handsome man with impeccable manners and attention to detail
O. G.
The best German beers before Man Utd matches. Very easy to deal with service and even let me eat near the fire pit.
s. h.
Lovely meal very nice place.
C. F.
Great staff great atmosphere fantastic food and drink
C. M.
Highly recommend. Beer and food are brilliant.
L. B.
Smart/casual trendy bar! Stunning decor and great atmosphere. Came here for lunch, no reservation, was able to get a table and relax with a nice space and drink.
L. P.
Fantastic Sunday roasts, amazing entertainment, great service- time just flies when you spend an afternoon here! Its a fabulous place even just for a drink
A. K.
Brilliant atmosphere, interesting selection of performances! Love it!
J. F.
Great beer and decent food in impressive setting.
P. F.
Great experience, service and food
C. W.
Great food (amazing pretzels) and really friendly service.
N. C.
Albert's Schloss has always had a great vibe, having drinks listening to the live band that creates a fun atmosphere but sadly when the band finishes on a Saturday night the DJ currently en residence becomes the Vibe Killer. Honestly he was so unbelievably bad the people that were still in their seats at 1230-1am left in their droves. What a chance to keep people entertained only for him to blast out bafflingly badly mixed tracks. A real off putter.
G. T.
Always a good experience. Good selection of beers and cocktails.
S. A.
Huge range of continental beers, food is good, live music good too.
The only negative is that it is a bit pretentious. No trainers after 7pm, live music was fantastic but no one (and I mean no one) out of the few hundred people in there clapped.
R. F.
Brilliant as usual, great atmosphere, beer and food! Danké!
M.
Live music and a fairly fast moving queue. Could use some more bar staff
C. H.
As always a lovely setting and place to eat :)
N. A.
Great selection of beer! Food was great too.
J. Y.
Beautiful bar, good lively atmosphere
C. R.
Great set up... drinks took 10 mins to arrive but the bands were great and I much prefer the less crowded set up than pre pandemic. Clean too. Great job Albert's.
P. K.
Absolutely love this place and it is probably my favourite go to place when in town whether it's a couple before a night out or at any point of the day/night. Would recommend just for the Pilsner Urquell alone but this place probably has the best selection beers around. Nice chilled vibe with a table fire pit and also plays live music too with the windows open.
K. S.
Zoltan has been one of the best servers I have experienced in Manchester! Loved his drinks reccommendations and service. Love the place
m. k.
Absolutely fabulous
A. P.
Really good food and service
A. V.
Good vibes.. they have a mix of live band and DJ playing throughout the night if that if what you like!
Staff was very friendly and nice!
D. C.
Fab night out, band were brilliant, everyone in a party mood. Drinks expensive though
S. B.
Very good venue, great atmosphere, top bloke Gaz on the door.
S. S.
Best beers and cocktails in Manchester! Wear proper shoes on weekend nights!
D. J. J. T.
Beautiful decor, live music every night - definitely worth a visit!
H. M.
You can find very nice German beers... the music is too laugh... sometimes, you can not chat.
G. H.
Saturday night and as expected, very busy. A great selection of drinks, burlesque dancers, live band, great food, friendly atmosphere, what's not to like. A good choice.
C. J.
Great food and decor. The cruffins are amazing too!
T. L.
Steak was absolutely lovley and the overall vibe there was nice and welcoming. The only downside was that the music was too loud, couldnt speak to the waiter or another of my friends.
O. P.
Fantastic atmosphere along with good food and drink all at reasonable prices.
J. H.
Went for lunch with our granddaughter and partner. We quite often go out as a foursome but this was the best yet. Great food and great service what more could you ask for.
D. H.
Very busy, asked to move from a table that didn't have a reserved card on for a specific time and 20 minutes later they still hadn't turned up.
A. T.
Quick bar service, huge venue, great atmosphere
J. H.
Great decor, welcoming attentive server, flavour full food, nice warm fire to sit around, beers & cocktails, photobooth to play in.
S. M.
It's alright. Huge space, and if you eat there is a nice seating area. Selection of beers also good. However, on a weeknight its just too busy and noisy. They bumped up the music volume above the conversation and you can barely hear anyone unless you scream at each other.
Edit: I've increased this review to 4 stars due to venue response. They are quite right that it would be much quieter during the day and the venue is nicely laid out with a great selection of beer.
M. D.
Breakfast was not hot, only luke warm, returned for another breakfast this was fantastic. Great staff and our server was Fantastic.
D. M.
Very friendly service and a good selection on beers. Could have done with more staff.
