Fantastic selection of gins and tonics. Great atmosphere and interior decor - the outside terrace is nice, too. Definitely pricey, you pay for the quality, but that goes for just about anything. Would definitely recommend for a tipple. My drink pictured is the “D” raspberry gin with fresh raspberries and elderberry tonic.

Good location - right next to Deansgate train station. Always get served at the bar very quickly. Lots of seating. The drinks are on the pricey side. The clientele is very white-collar office worker in the early-to-late evenings, Monday-to-Friday. More of a meeting place, or a one-for-the-road place. Great for what it is though. Very clean.

Grab a cup of coffee in this bar. Coffee smell so good and taste likely in coffee shop compile with Loust Biscoff (complimentary) such a lovely. Definitely staff is so nice for service.

The only place you need for gin, with over 500 different gins and a new one introduced every week. The bar staff are extremely knowledgeable, pairing each one with the perfect tonic from a large variety. Today, we got tickets to their World Gin Day tasting session. There were some lovely local gins and enough samples to get us pleasantly tipsy. The bar owner was present and he is a nice chap too, with a genuine interest in gin.

Had the most amazing experience in Alta's bar last week. I booked a gin tasting session for me and my friend and at £25 each I thought it was a bargain! The man who lead the session was so knowledgeable about gin and was genuinely passionate. I learnt so much about the history of gin and he was very easy going, letting us drink at our own pace and coming over for a chat and a new drink when we were ready. He also showed us some local rum as well which was a lovely extra touch. Thank you so much, I will definitely be visiting again, the amount of guns on offer is incredible!

We love this place, first visited a few years ago and was amazed at the huge selection of gin. So while in Manchester recently we had to revisit and it’s just as good as we remember. Good choice of beers for non gin lovers but if you love gin this is the place for you. Lovely atmosphere and great service from welcoming staff 😊

Took a while The review was well deserved. In fact I was being kind. I should have given you one star. The place was not busy at all when we were there and our order "took a while" and then 5 minutes more for the knives and forks to arrive. If you put yourself out there for comment please have the good grace to accept it. Look in before you look out when you demand kindness and support from your paying customers and expecting more "helpful behaviour". Train you staff better and perhaps better reviews will follow!!!!

Had the most astonishing involvement with Alta's bar last week. I booked a gin tasting meeting for myself and my companion and at £25 every I thought it was a deal! The one who lead the meeting was so educated with regards to gin and was truly energetic. I found out such a huge amount about the historical backdrop of gin and he was extremely agreeable, allowing us to drink at our own speed and coming over for a talk and another beverage when we were prepared. He showed us some neighborhood rum too which was a dazzling additional touch. Many thanks, I will visit once more, the measure of weapons on offer is amazing!

Tucked in next to Deansgate train station this bar from the outside may not seem much, but enter inside and you will find a pub with a nice atmosphere, outdoor seating & friendly staff. They even do s good cappuccino. Well worth a visit.

Lovely outdoor shelter, nice and sturdy enough to withstand the most brutal Manchester weather. Heaters (bonus points), a fire pit, comfy seating, pleasant staff and the most lovely doorman. Really cosy atmosphere, the only downsides would be the lack of variety on the drinks menu. For example there were only 3 types of rum on the menu. We also tried the chicken basket and it was kind of sad and overpriced for what it was (£12 for a few pieces of chicken and some chips). The chicken was rock solid crumb coated, dry and kinda tasteless 😭 Also the app to order was a nightmare, it took multiple tries to pay for an order, but we got there in the end! For a first outing during the easing of lockdown it was a good, solid trial run. Atmosphere was good, I felt safe and socially distanced. I even took my coat off on one of the wettest and windiest days of the year ... I'd venture there again.

Nice and spacious bar that's been about for as long as I can remember. The bar staff and even the doormen were polite and respectful. The outside seating is comfortable and relaxed. The only reason I have only passed 4 stars is the price of the drinks. Most pints are twice the price of the identical pint in a Wetherspoons pub.

Nice bar with a relaxed atmosphere. The decor is really nice and Manchester themed. They have a vast, I mean vast selection of gins, which I think is great! Definitely worth checking out. They have an outside area at the back too which closes at 11pm I think. Not sure about wheelchair accessible entrances though as the place has a lot of steps inside and to the front door.

Simply a cool trendy and hip bar located in the Deansgate Locks. In regularly come here for drinks with a few of my friends. There is a beer garden with Smoking and non smoking areas. Haven't tried food there yet, but they have a good selection of beers on tap. Sadly none local, the range of spirits and gins is good too.

Drinks aren't overpriced, but be aware of exactly what you're ordering if you do go for a select Gin. Popped in last night to kill time because I was early for an appointment - I could have stayed all evening! It was a cold, wintery evening and Atlas Bar was like a haven. Warm and welcoming with a little candle on each table. I had a big mug of hot tea and sat facing the bar which was fabulously well stocked. Great place!

Simply the best gin bar in the world. Menu on the website with over 500 gins! I’m incredibly lucky to live nearby so I visit it quite often. 500 gins can be very confusing and difficult to choose from but ALAS! The staff are incredibly and are well trained help you pick just the right gin for you and pair it with an appropriate tonic! Just tell them about your preference flavour-wise and they will make you very happy :) If you live in Manchester or just passing through, this place is a must! Don’t miss out on the best gin out there! Also they got decent snacks, goat cheese pie with peppers for life haha.

Brilliant Gin bar. Serves a massive collection of great and varied gins. Staff were knowledgeable and there was also other stuff on offer too like beer and cider for those wanting a different tipple. Impressive gin selection. Highly skilled bar staff, happy to pick out the perfect gin for your taste. Very expensive, but not unreasonable for an upmarket gin bar beside a railway station, and easily worth it. Gin of the week is a good deal for the price conscious.

Disclaimer: Reviewing this as a cafe, not a bar. + Nice place + Great location + Affordable food and drink + Friendly staff + Free wifi + Clean toilets + Plug sockets + Loads of space + Great tunes - Fairly average coffee (had quite a milky flat white) - Not really much of a cafe atmosphere due to the size Overall probably much better as a bar than a cafe, but it's great that it does operate as a cafe and it is a lovely place. I organised a hen party at Atlas bar and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a good time. We sat outside on their lovely terrace area, did a gin tasting session that was full of interesting information but also fun and we had some delicious fresh food. Highly recommend!

This place is great if you enjoy a gin. As many gins as one could dream of, but they are not served with ideal/suggested accompaniment, is a massive let down. Also we were not the first to not to be charged for our drinks straight away. Huge cock up by the staff. It was about an hour later when they realised. We had got another drink by then. So the idea drink up, and go to next pub comes swiftly to mind!

A nice bar in the Knott Mill area, it's a busy place under the Deansgate railway station, so the rumble of a train every few minutes is noticeably. Don't let this put you off, the beer is okay but with over 400 find to try you'll not be wanting any beer anyway. The outside seating is a sun trap and the inside is cool, with other bar in close proximity.

No regrets, greeted by a friendly bar maid who took our order and later delivered to our table. Coffee and food were excellent and the price resonable. Will definitely use more often.

Fantastic venue. I didn't count them but the Bar Manager told me they stock 300 + gins from around the world. The back bar was rammed with stock. Great choice of draught lagers too! They had a bar menu and as I was starving I ordered lamb kofta. It was fantastic and reasonably priced too! Great bar, you should try it!

Have been going here since it opened nearly 20years ago. Still has the best range of guns in Manchester and staff that know how and what are the best choice of mixers and adjoining herbs and spices. Can get a little packed at weekends but the outside beer garden is sufficiently large to take up the overflow. Not necessarily a place for kids but being adjacent to Castle field locks and canal system there is always something to do for family entertainment.

A very nice little bar just next to Deansgate train station. It's great to pop in for a quiet drink during the week and it's not usually too busy. A nice bar, with friendly chatty staff and a good range of drinks with an excellent range of gin and tonic. Top tip is to visit in the summer, get yourself the G&T of the week, which is usually well priced (I've found them to usually be £4) for a high quality product served in a goblet. Take your gigantic drink outside to their garden and enjoy the evening sun whilst catching up with some friends. The bar is next to Deansgate Train and Tram Station so easy to get to and well placed for drinks when you're not drinking.

Really cool little bar on the edge of Deansgate. This is the first time I've been and I would definitely come again. They have a nice outside bit too which has a decent sun trap. They charge 50p with card payments under £10 so make sure you bring cash.

6pm on a saturday. Group of 3. 2 of us ordered draft lager it when it came it was off, very sulphurous smell. I worked in a pub for 2 years and know this can happen. I went to the bar after having 2 mouthfulls (sometimes you can just about stand it) The person on duty told me and my friend we were wrong and there was nothing wrong with it. He wouldnt swap it and refused a refund. What a completely terrible attitude. We all walked out the pub and will never return. This is a terrible way to run a business and I can only imagine the company was in financial difficulty.
