I've been here loads for drinks and for the pub quiz in the old days but never ate here. Came for a meal with family recently and I was pleasantly surprised! All the food was tasty, seemed fresh, cooked nicely and arrived quickly. The prices are extremely good too. Me and the hubby ordered the steak fondue challenge to share and it was just enough food for the both of us and only £19! Everyone in our party was just as pleased with their meals too. Lovely and helpful staff too. One of our friends glass just exploded on it's own at the table! We think it was probably a case of the glass had just come out of the dishwasher and was hot, then cold liquid immediately went into it and stressed the glass. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, reseated us at another table straight away and offered free drinks for the trouble. Times are hard for everyone at the moment and with the cost of food, fuel, utilities and everything else soaring, I don't know how essential eating out is going to be to anyone in the future. But here is a place that isn't going to make you feel like restaurants are either no longer an option or that you would have to budget or sacrifice other things in order to enjoy an evening out. Our group are already planning a return visit.

Had an 8oz rump steak meal here on the steak deal menu that they have on Mondays & Tuesdays, only £5 with a generous helping of chips & peas, bargain! Friendly atmosphere in the place & plenty of parking spaces. Will be visiting again soon

Great food and fantastic staff Eileen the manager is lovely and served us our drinks and made pleasant conversation. Annie served us our food and seemed the only one on and was rushed off her feet. She never stopped and was very lovely to us and great with my granddaughter who had a strop on but soon had her smiling Food was stunning and I will be back. Sorry we didn’t have cash for a tip when we return we will be bringing cash on our next visit as we felt saddened we couldn’t tip. Great place to visit for all the family

Tasty hot food, didn't have to wait long and everybody enjoyed all parts of the meal, we used the app to order and was very easy to do, requested a booth and the staff reserved one for us, thank you I know this may not always be possible at busy times, staff extremely friendly and helpful, clean restaurant, had a lovely time for my birthday.

Had the £5 steak deal with my wife, young lad sat me down and promised us the rumps were great value for money and an impressive cut of meat. Very busy Sunday afternoon , packed out . Despite this, even as a party of 14 the waiting time for our food was very acceptable. Food was very good , staff friendly and polite. Only negative comment was the constant noise of the door slamming as children ran in and out of the play area outside.

Fantastic. Went with a large group on 27/11/21. The staff were great, all of them. Attentive and really friendly. I had steak fondue and wings. Delicious, great pub food, done well and with great customer service too, extending too pointing out which sauce was the hottest checking we had enough condiments and ensuring the food was cooked to our liking. 12 people in our group, all food came out at the same time. 10/10

Thursday Burger night where you (buy one get one free),is great value. The burgers we had were cooked and presented well. Ordered from the app which works well and orders were brought to the table fast and efficiently. All the staff we had interaction with were professional. Been here many times over the years. Really nice place to take the family. Its is as good as to be expected for the prices which is really reasonable and the portions are huge. Sometimes will have to wait for a table so booking is vital for big parties. Kids meals are great and has a play area outside for the warmer days. Some tables have a tv in them with kids programs being played. The burgers and steaks come recommended😋. Good selection of beers as ales too...

We haven't been there for a long time, so it was a pleasant surprise as to how good the selection of food available for a lunchtime was, the staff very friendly.

Visited during the current covid restrictions, and very impressed with the staff and the handling of the evening. Food reasonably priced, and easy to order from the app. Overall for a group of 5 adults, all with starters and an alcoholic drink was about £70. All the plates were cleared as far as I remember too. Quiz night was good fun too, hadn't planned on attending, but glad we took part.

Good pub grub at a great price. I had sizzling steak which was cooked to perfection. The staff are helpful and friendly (the managers are hands on too). There is a decent sized outdoor seating area and climbing frame for the kids. Inside there are TVs built into the booths showing cartoons for rainy days. The pub has a pleasant decor and clean toilets. There is a vault for adults to escape kids and watch football (on clear screens). A fantastic family pub.

Good quality local 'Hungry Horse' pub. Has a great outdoors area for kids with a big fort like climbing frame. Food and drink both very reasonably priced, can be busy at the weekends but even so service is very efficient. What's more if you sign up for the marketing emails they send money off vouchers occasionally making it even better value.

Never had a problem with the food, always nice and you don't have to wait too long. The tables seem crammed together, not much space between them, it's a family pub so children running everywhere and quite noisy. They have lots of entertainment on in the evenings which is good!

It's been a while since my last visit, the place hasn't changed much, still serving decent food as reasonable prices. I ordered a well done 8oz rump steak, it tasted as good as rival chain restaurants that charge more for it. We were all too full for puddings. I do still think the Hungry Horse menu has a number of menu items with serving sizes that are too big for a normal human being's daily intake, but far be it from me to stop anyone who can eat a meal off the 'big plate' section of the menu.

Been to the bent many times to eat and drink, staff are always polite and very helpful. Great atmosphere, great food. Nothing is to much trouble for Debs or Eamon, and if ever I've had a problem (which is very rare!) they go out of there way to help :). I would highly recommend people to give it a try next time you eat out.

The pub is fine with friendly staff and decent service. What lets it down is location with wafting smells from a local sewage works which are not pleasant but in fairness don't really affect the inside of the pub. It's what's inside that counts.

Booked on a curry special offer day and ate early afternoon, yet got told 10 mins after ordering they only had "lemon rice" and had run out of pilau rice already. No big deal. Onion bhaji overcooked & greasy. Tikka & rest of the meal, tasty. Desert was supposed to include a large cookie, which was missing when arrived to the table. Pointed it out rather than told by waitress to be told we could have twix fingers instead. Wouldn't have been told if not spotted. Bit slow service considering it was weekday afternoon & reasonably quiet. On a better day, would give it 4 star for the price.
