Nice pub, shame we can't sit inside, hopefully soon though, good selection of drinks 🍻 (Last posted Covid) You can sit inside now, great on Mondays as food is buy one get one free, great value!, as mentioned on Monday buy one get one free on food, not good Manager and chef shouting at each other, can't cope, get more staff then, if want to argue do it somewhere quiet not seen, not across the bar, shame, reducing stars, it was disappointing, long wait if wanted food

Signed into NHS COVID APP on arrival . Sat in the garden area. Lovely sunshine. Lots of people on separate table with excellent social distancing. Friendly staff took orders at each table and you could pay cash or card. Well done Eagle and Child. We felt very welcome to get back to some normality.even with all these covid regulations

Amazing pub. Been going for 20 years ever since I was a baby. Great atmosphere and good prices. The food there it's good too and has large quantities and they are always having events taking place which is nice

Proper pub. Reasonable prices, good staff, dart board, kids welcome. They have parties for Christmas, bonfire night and Halloween. They cater for Football tournaments such as the Euros and World cup and have an overall relaxed atmosphere. It's clear how much effort they put into running this place.

Proper local's pub. I live down the road but that doesn't make me a local. Stopping in for one every now and again doesn't make you a local. Stay for 6 pints and tip a quid every round and you're just that little bit closer to being a local. In the Good Pub Guide. Has a few Bowling Greens.

Traditional Holts pub. Older clientele, friendly, good pub quiz every other Thursday and regular music acts on. Lovely Bowling green especially nice in good weather.

I normally enjoy it here, but I came in to watch the match, a band appear and start soundchecking mid-match (instead of waiting 10 minutes for half time) and standing in the way of the TV as often as possible. I asked them if they could possibly move out of the way of the TV whilst the match was on, which in their defence they did. Until the second half whereupon they started playing as loudly as they could despite the landlady telling me that they wouldn't start until after the match had started. Disappointed tonight.

Great local pub, really friendly staff, with a good beer garden, and a decent tap room with a dart board. The best thing about the Eagle though is Casper the Dog trotting around saying hi to everyone! ***UPDATE*** The recent refurb has the place looking great. It feels a lot more modern, and has a pizza menu which I'm looking forward to trying!
