Nice pub, staff polite and serve you fast. Decent music on too! Plenty or rock and alternative stuff playing! Live music also on some nights. Situated right next to Oxford Road Station... well worth a visit.

Most Mancunians call it GC. It's a well-known rock pub pretty convenient in terms of location (close for students, close to Satan's). I say with love that it's a bit of a dive bar feel here. You come for the rock/metal ambience and the relaxed vibes. Don't get me wrong, they have a good selection of beers etc. but don't set your heart on getting a cocktail here, unless it's something like a black toothed grin.

Visited recently after the change in ownership & revamp. Wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff... Great music... Drinks weren't priced too badly. All in all still one of Manchesters best Rock Pubs! And well worth a visit!

One of Manchester's coolest alternative bars. It's kinda a dive bar.. because that's what it's patrons want it to be. Best rock and metal juke box anywhere. No really, anywhere. Since it was refurbished, entomologists will find the toilets disappointing. Everyone else will be far happier, clean and fit for use now. Drinks and prices are okay. Staff are great, friendly atmosphere, great place to hang out.

Probably the best pub in the world. The staff are fun and friendly, 1 barlady even had some incredible corpsepaint on. I've not seen that outside of a black metal band for years. It's not a cheap place to drink but the atmosphere is great. It looks like a dirty rock dive and that's exactly what it is. Great jukebox, great staff, just go there.

I was visiting Manchester for the first time. I walked by the pub and asked a dude outside about the shows. He told me there were free shows. I stopped by and ordered a couple of beers. Friendly atmosphere and loud hard rock. Since it's a "free for all" venue you find drifters and regular dudes. They serve regular beers and don't expect to find fancy ones. I loved that pub.

This is a great place. The music is always excellent. The drinks are reasonably priced for the area and I've found the staff to be friendly. The décor is very basic and it feels a bit empty if you're not there during the busy times. They have a pool table

I used to hate this place, full of sweaty people and warm beer, but had good music before Jillys. The hygiene of the punters has improved, the beer is now cold and fresh, the music still rocks! I won't leave it too long til I go back, this time!!

Been my local for years, its a bit clique-y due to the fact theres so few dedicated rock/metal pubs in manchester these days, but if you go here often you'll be bound to run into someone you know, which to me is one of the greatest things about it. Great jukebox, the pool table is always free in the week, the prices arent the best but its a busy area of Manc so what to expect?

Calling all rock/metal heads! Well what a little gem of a find! First time in Manchester and this pub did not disappoint! Great music whether it's from the jukebox or the resident DJ, brilliant and attentive staff and well, what more can I say... I'm around my people and I feel a home away from home. Even if you're not into the music genre please give it a go, you won't find friendlier people anywhere else and you will certainly enjoy yourself!
