Reviews of Hula Manchester
Love hula! The reggae music is spot on! It's open till early hours in the morning to, so its great when you don't want to go home. The only down fall is the constant wet floors! I nearly slipped numerous times.
Had a fantastic night. Was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews but our experience was brilliant. 19 of us on a hen party. Had booked a drinks package (through Hangover Weekends). Really good value for money drinks kept flowing Prosecco, shots, 2 bottles of spirits and mixers. We had more than enough and couldn’t drink all of it. One of our hens was pregnant and Jordan who served us made sure she was included making mocktails and bringing a shot of orange over. Had own area which was fantastic and the bouncer where really friendly and we felt really safe. Bar staff a crazy bunch which added to the atmosphere and made the evening special even setting the bar on fire at one point. Would recommend
Good songs but a bit expensive for drinks and the people who were there on the night were rude to the bar staff. The only photo I got was from the fish tank at the front
Amazing place! So lovely and wonderful staff that made you feel so welcomed and at home. Best place to be this NYE, special thanks to Donnay for the insane cocktails ✨
Open late on a recent Sunday though not very busy.. Bar staff were lovely. Friendly door staff.
We had the best time here doing cocktail making with Captain Rod. There were 9 of us on a Hen and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Special mention to Brad who was So entertaining and smiled the whole time. Thank you!!
I loooove Hula. Their drinks are great and music is nice as well.
Also security is friendly, everyone is friendly ❤️❤️❤️
Come at happy hour and enjoy some great deals for coktails.its not super fancy but you can booze up quick and for a good price and no headache spirits.
Great music on my visit.a cashless bar though hence 3 star rating
If you like a bit of R&B and early 2000s this is the one for you. Treat yourself to a zombie
Now quarter house smoke House superb food... Enough said
Good cocktails, great stuff. Bar staff know what they're doing and they're doing it right. Cool atmosphere. The only issue was miscommunication between door staff and they definitely let to many people in as it was over crowded and it was hard to breath. Been there many times tho and will be back again. Carol
Best atmosphere you’ll find in northern quarter. Bartenders will have as much fun as you. Expect great music, dancing, fantastic cocktails and LOTS OF FIRE!
Great atmosphere, decent rnb, afrobeats, urban music range. Reasonable drinks prices but not that cheap. Really cramped and crowded which can be good or bad depending on how you like it. Overall not a bad place to spend a Saturday night. 4 pound entry when I was there.
I enjoyed a very lovely dinner coupled with drinks at this restaurant. My only complaint was the incredibly slow service on a Thursday night. I was really looking forward to having dessert but we just couldn't wait any longer and I had to cancel it. There were multiple staff members but they all seem to be confused about their specific role.
Great little place!
Happy hour from 5-7pm, two 4 one cocktails. The 1740's grog us will worth a try!
Good value for what you get. Pleasant staff and good prices.
Always a good night in Hula. The cocktails a good (especially the Zombie) great R&B music..its a 10 from Me!
The music is alright and the cocktails are pretty good. It can get pretty overcrowded later on and it's usually quite hot unless you can grab a space by the air-con. The cloakroom could do with being a little bit cheaper too.
If you like over priced cocktails you'll love it here. Hip-hop night can be good and it's open later than other places. Beware the seven rum Zombie...you'll feel it the next day.
For a taste of the South seas and fun in Manchester head here.
The place to be at the end of your night. awesome tunes, great bar tenders, and they set fire to so many drinks. Don't wear your new shoes or your shiny whites, they will be filthy when you wake up in the morning, but you will have had an awesome night.
The only tiki bar worth visiting, Hula is a full on fun time party bar! This is the type of place to go when you want a dancing on the table, sweat dripping from the ceiling, dance until 3 type nights. The Zombies are amazing and as expected, somewhat amnesia inducing and as for the Tropical Death, well...
Literally best bar in town can garentee its going off with some great music and drinks
This was one of the first tiki bars I went to when they weren't quite as common and as such I always have fond memories. There's a fish tank at the bottom of the descent downstairs and the decor is typically 'tiki' bamboo, palms, magazine collages pasted on the walls. The cocktails are expensive but really strong and there tends to be a lot of fire involved in the process - which is probably why come 11pm it's an absolute sweat pit! During the week it's pretty quiet but packed on a Saturday - it stays open until around 2am but you have to pay a couple of quid for later entry. The old school hip hop on a Saturday is my fave!
If you are looking for a place to dance and have some drinks without the stress of having to look super smart this is the right place to go.
The songs are kinda mix of hold school and the 2014 hits.
Hula bar is located on Stevenson Square in the heart of the Northern Quarter. They have a good selection of cocktails, the prices are comparable to other NQ venues. The music is of course a matter of taste but it's great for R'n'B classics and the DJ usually takes requests.
Popular basement bar on Stevenson Square in the Northern Quarter. It has a kitsch tiki theme and specialises in rum cocktails. It's not a big space, and I've found that when it gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights it's absolutely crammed. However, the flaming zombie cocktails are an impressive sight, and pack a real punch - I've had a few nights out become much more interesting after a couple of Hula's zombies.
Great fun for a night out, and not overly expensive for Northern Quarter. Has a tendency to overfill the club resulting in a slightly claustrophic experience on a Saturday between 12-2.
Not my cup of tea but seems a fun place for someone younger
Good atmosphere, but small-medium floor space. Bar staff were awesome though. Very good at mixing and had the conversation to back it up too.
Good atmosphere, good cocktails and great staff!
Hula is a small Tiki style bar in a basement on Stephenson Square. It plays mostly RnB style music when I have been there and is great for dancing. It really picks up later in the evening as it is open until 4am on a weekend. The only downside of this bar is that is can sometimes feel a little too busy which makes it hard to move around.
They had half their cocktails unavailable and it was empty when we were there.
Best late night midweek bar in Manchester. Fun atmosphere, good music and great bar staff. Lads struggle to get in in groups, need female company!
Hula Tiki in the Northern Quarter is brilliant.
What's not to love about cock tails and hip hop music?
It's a small underground bar and gets very busy at the weekends but it's a great experience.
Rum heaven..cocktails on tap..love it because i love rum...go figure
Dance floor waay too small. Very claustrophobic when busy and trying to dance. Cocktails are nice, go all out, have a zombie!
Mmm Zombie, Fun night out until one of my friends got dragged out for standing on the bench, fairenough she was drunk but they didnt even ask her to get down. Also saw two couples pretty much having a 4some but no one seemed to mind that.
Drink and dance, with men wearing small hats all around
Best place for a rum cocktail in Manchester - if you can make it for happy hour even better as its BOGOF. Recommend the zombie if you're on a mission to get tipsy, but they do one of the best mai thais Ive ever tasted. Dont forget to see if you can spot the smallest starfish you'll ever see in the aquarium as you walk in - too cute.
Fantastic experience at the hula, from the atmosphere to the amazing cocktails joined by some banging tunes to get us in the mode for a boogy, one of our favourites of the night loved it.
Really expensive drinks. Paid 15 quid for 2 rum and cokes that were very diluted, but a really fun atmosphere and place to go on the weekend.
Loved it here, great staff and cheap drinks. Happy hour, two for £10 cocktails too!
Fantastic vibes, music, staff etc!!! Amazing place for a night out, the drinks are awesome :)
Good fun and music is great, if you want a late night venue with party atmosphere this place is a good option
Entrance quite expensive, and maybe they could change the music style some times, like i love hip hop and rap but some times they are not the best to dance to
Nice place, drinks watered down though but frustratingly enough that's pretty normal nowadays. Music low tempo dancehall.
Is it really a night out if you don't visit Hula? One of the best bars in Manchester great cocktails, great music and always a great night.
Love the fish tank, great place for cocktails. 2-1 deals all week if you get there early
Not my kind of place really, but gets 4 stars for the awesome Zombie cocktails, approx £10 each, but well worth it!
Great staff, best zombie cocktails especially when it's 2-4-1 nice atmosphere
Was alright nothing special.. best bar in NQ far from it. Music is very rap orientated and lacked authenticity, couldn't get my groove On!
A laid back club that is focussed on fun. Not pretentious at all and serves some brilliant cocktails!
very small bar but the atmosphere is great and always busy on the weekend
Fun bar with tropical cocktails, but pop music to dance to!
Cool little bar. Its very small and very dark, but has a good atmosphere
Good drinks but no happy hour on weekends
Great bar, love the cocktails. Small but lively
A very nice place for a good dance. Plays a wide variety of good music.
Really nice music and atmosphere
Get a Zombie or two.
Nice little club. Must come back. Friendly crowd who love to dance
Small and cramped. Drinks were very good, but very expensive - especially for the northern quarter.
Pretty old school tiki theme bar with some decent cocktails. Liar Club is better.
Open mic on Tuesdays. Happy hour. Nice staff
Nice place for night out, disco food jazz.
Very nice place lovely customer service.
It was empty. We where the only group in there (it was early). Good cocktails though.
Sit outside if the weather allows. Watch people pas by. It's a great past time.
Great music drinks are a good price also
Spot on for cheap cocktails and decent 80's music.
Open late but pricey drinks. Good music though
A very expensive place for a drink and not much space to dance in.
I had a great time in here celebrating my friend's birthday
classic modern decor and massive attention to detail when it comes to a wide variety of cocktails and drinks.
Great tiki bar in Manchester NQ. No nonsense staff and good drinks
Had a great night in there with friends, it was 90s R'n'B heaven
Every time I go here I get memory loss and a phone full of funny photos.
And occasionally... Singed eyebrows
Top party location
Well made cocktails and Latin music (reggaeton and that kind of stuff)
Very busy. Downstairs in a basement. Great R n B tunes
