Had a great night at Joshua Brooks. Bar upstairs was really nice and great selection of ales to get you warmed up ready for the club downstairs. The sound system in the club was fantastic and the vibe was very typical Manchester industrial theme. Prices were a little steep compared to other venues but you know your gonna pay more at 3 in the morning in a club so live with it. All in all it was a great night and can't wait to go back.

The interiors, ambience were lovely but musics a tad loud for a non-weekend night and the corona beer we ordered tasted really funny. Food portions were decent for a fiver. We ordered hummus but were later told it was unavailable which is completely fine and happens. But perhaps a better system would be to take payments at the table once the food is served, to avoid having to pay in advance for an item that isn't there.

We were looking for a place to get food before a show and chanced in here as it looked busy. We luckily got seated and had some incredible food which catered to the vegans, veggies and meat eaters in the group. The cocktails were fantastic and were not watered down which was a fab change, and the staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend the tater tots and the guac and chip dish for snacks, but the whole menu had so much choice that it catered for everyone with ease.

Four of us came to Joshua Brooks for bottomless brunch, and it has been the best bottomless I’ve been to. Staff were so attentive, and the food was lovely. I suffer from a gluten allergy and my boyfriend a peanut allergy and we were bother very impressed with the range of food we were offered. Great value for money.

A pub that has potential, but given that pubs up the road were full with football fans when we visited and this was empty it speaks for something. They have a few unusual beer offerings on, but just don't seem to quite hit the mark with the atmosphere or something.

Went here for the first time yesterday for bottomless brunch with 8 people. It’s probably the best one I’ve been to in Manchester - unlike other places there was no issues ordering drinks, staff were friendly and the food was really tasty with big portions.

I've been to so many places in Manchester where the food is just "ok". The food here is not only a third of the cost of most places, but also absolutely incredible! They even made a vegetarian version of their burger for my friend. Highly recommend; should definitely try the Chilli Gambino Burger and the Garlic and Rosemary fries (So So So Good!)

Currently in here and have just devoured their Roast Chicken Supreme Sunday dinner. Simply WOW! Absolute stunning meal, compliments to the chef! The venue has beautiful decor and very comfy seats, lovely mood lighting. Another reason to love this place, you can bring your 4 legged furry companion!. Met a couple of lovely doggies whilst in here. Last and certainly not least! All staff are very welcoming and helpful. Overall a 10/10 from me - lovely little place! Highly recommend!! I came here last weekend with some friends and had the best time! We started off drinking at the cocktail bar then ended the night downstairs in the club, such a versatile place. While upstairs the bartender made me a specialty rainbow cocktail and oh my god… it was amazing!!

Watched the world cup here. There are many seats and tables to pick from. You can watch at the bar or turn your back to the bar and watch on the large projection. Nice place to just hang about and waste time with your mates with a few drinks thrown in the mix and the American themed meals on the menu. You can finally get to know what Beyonce tastes like. It's in the city center on top of that.

Don't judge a book by its cover! This place doesn't look like much but the staff were really good, very friendly and accommodating. The burgers were awesome, my husband said best he's had and believe me he's had a few. Fries were too crunchy, however the toppings were really good.

What can I say. Just excellent, I would give 10 stars if I could. Great choice of beers and the food was delicious. But what really made my day was the staff, just a lovely bunch - so friendly and welcoming they made me feel very much at home and lifted my mood which was just what I needed as my girlfriend had just dumped me :( despite that however, I left feeling happy and uplifted. I look forward to my next visit.

Nice casual bar with a little outdoor beer terrace facing the afternoon and evening sun. There is a good selection of beers on tap and bottled beer in the fridge. Good value cocktail offers and great pub grub. A good place to enjoy a pint after work that isn't too crowded with a relaxed atmosphere. Our pub of choice to chill over a cheeky pint on a sunny afternoon.

Football world cup season. Decided to watch the France Uruguay quarterfinals here. Ordered the BBQ chicken burger and to my surprise was really wonderful and fries were excellent. The space is quite limited but the seating options weren't bad. I don't drink so cannot vouch for the alcohol here. Would go again for that burger.

Love this place, it’s our local for after work drinking but also have a lively atmosphere with comfy sofas and friendly staff. They have a nice selection of guest ales and some great cocktails at a great price. Recently refurbished it feels clean and modern with clean toilets and the food has had a makeover too which I have tried recently and would definitely recommend. Topped off with a nice outside area in the summer that runs along the river.

Bloody brilliant studenty bar! Came here for some food with 4 of my colleagues, and the food was absolutely delicious and inventive! Good selection of beers, with house bottle of red being around £12 and house pint of ale £2! Friendly bar staff, and nice chilled atmosphere! Will be back for sure!!

Brilliant atmosphere, chilled and laid back! Reminded me A LITTLE of Belgrave in Leeds, which is unreal! The burgers and chicken are unreal too! Wasn't planning on eating here but ended up anyway... didn't regret the decision! Good selection of beers and lagers and also cocktails!!

The venue is good, I've been before for a comedy show in the basement. But for a pride event, it was just wasn't well managed. Having only three people on bar during one of the busiest nights of the year, no aircon or fans to cool it down considering there were a few hundred between both levels and a huge queue for the toilets because they weren't letting guys use the ladies at an all-Male event was really bad management which mainly falls on the venue and not the organisers. Prices were okay but waiting ten minutes to get served just made it not worth it.

Well known for its club nights, but it's quite a good place to go during the day too, They've got a large balcony area above the river and a great selection of beers. They also seem to have recently struck up a deal with Pieminister and are offering a selection of their great pies, so it's a good option for lunch if you're around that area.

Been here a lot since they returned it, food is drastically worse. High chairs are stupid. The big table in the middle moves around at the annoyance of people sitting on it. Fewer beers. Projector is massive but too low so cannot get a good view. Still a solid place to go for a drink but it's worse. They could have freshened the place up without abandoning what people loved about it.

Didn’t really work as a live music venue for me. -Ventilation was non existent. -Atrocious lighting. -Security staff were ever present pre gig then seemed to disappear once the main act came on, as several people smoked nearby to where I was standing without reprimand. -Additionally the gig photographers were very frustrating as they took up the entire front row of the gig and later on decided it would be a great idea to roam through the crowd, blocking peoples views with their needlessly large cameras. These guys need their own area! (Many other venues manage to do this properly) On the plus side, plenty behind the bar, a cool outside terrace area, and good location. As a normal pub review this is easily 4-5 stars!

Joshua Brooks is the place to go if you don't know where to head. They have coffee, cake, a great beer selection with cask ales (and really good IPAs). They also serve beef pie and other bar food. The best thing of this place is the atmosphere. You can either sit inside on one of their many sofas or outside, at their terrace above the canal. Also they do special activities like film screening of alternative cinema on Sundays.

Had a stressful day trying to find somewhere to watch the football, had issues in other bars/pubs due to the stress of all the young football fans. Came into Joshua Brooks and was greeted by a lovely girl called Charlotte who was extremely accommodating and helped us find a table. She showed us the menu for the bbq and we ordered two delicious burgers. Charlotte insured we had drinks constantly during the match and was able to enjoy the atmosphere in a comfortable and exitable environment.

A large bar with a canalside location, Joshua Brooks is a solid choice as a stepping stone from the Oxford Road corridor into town proper. They always has a large selection of cask and keg beers on the bar including offerings from local brewers including, Tickety Brew, First Chop and Quantum. Big student presence during the week due to location and a club in the basement.
