I booked Manchester Wine School for a hen do party and Phil was fantastic! He brought a great selection of wines (and cheese!), he was super knowledgeable and the tasting was lots of fun. We included a little a taste test game within our selection of 8 wines and the team also created a personalised booklet for the day, with a photo of the bride to be as nice keepsake. 100% recommended for any private event. Thanks again!

Life changing. There aren't many things in life that can attribute to changing your life. Perhaps quitting smoking and jumping out of an airplane may be considered life changing, setting your life on a new fresh path. I hoped to curate a new start with WSET Level 2 at the hands of Manchester Wine School and my tutor Jason. The classes were fun, exciting, and at times serious. There were moments of excitement trying new wines and there were some stressful moments leading up to the exam for myself. The knowledge passed on to me was great but the education instilled by yourself is the most important part. The exam was difficult-ish but really happy and surprised that I passed. The school has an extremely high passing rate. If professional certifications aren't your thing, they do wine tastings and other fun educational activities that you can spend your money on besides clubbing till 5 in the morning. All in all, I had a fantastic time, even so now relieving the memories that I know will have changed my life forever. Here I am now, to taking my level 3 soon and who knows maybe even go all the way to MW!

The whole experience of organising and booking the tasting was seamless. Phil was great at hosting the tasting and keeping the whole group engaged. The quality of the wine and cheeses were fab too. Would definitely recommend Manchester Wine School to anyone who is looking for a wine tasting experience!

Great course delivered in Manchester city centre. Easy for me to get to from Liverpool on a Sunday morning by train. Great fun doing WSET3 - and passing! Our tutor Richard had extensive experience including still working in the trade as well as teaching which I think is a great help for those doing the exams professionally as well as those (like me) who are doing it as a hobby.

Fantastic experience of the 8-week wine tasting course of lessons. Our sessions were held on a Thursday evening at the Jury's Inn Hotel and each week we tried 6 wines, with nibbles including cheeses, biscuits, grapes and meats to accompany as a snack. Each wine is between £5-25 and the majority around £10-15 so accessible prices. They have great flexibility when you can't make a particular session and both Jack and Phil who ran our classes were both non-pretentious, had great knowledge, and a real enthusiasm for what they were doing. They don't sell wines, which must be made clear. We've made some lovely friends and overall it was a brilliant experience. If I chose again, I would definitely say the 8-week course was a good length to go for because otherwise you're just scraping the surface with one session, which it is possible to take individually.

Just completed the WSET Level 2 course with Manchester Wine School. They have been excellent from start to finish.
Jason, our course tutor, was not only extremely knowledgeable, but also just totally down to earth and made each part of the course fun.
The school have taken extensive Covid precautions without compromising the learning. At no point was I ever concerned.
Whether you're considering just learning more about wine for enjoyment (like me), or looking to gain the qualification for professional purposes, I would definitely recommend the school.

I've now completed the WSET Level 1 and Level 2 Awards in Wine with the Manchester Wine School and couldn't fault them.
The communication in the run up to and post exam was great. My tutor was Jason on both occasions and he was so lovely and friendly, and really great at running through the curriculum.
My Level 2 exam was postponed due to covid-19 but even when I attended for my final day when restrictions were in place, the room was laid out in accordance to social distancing guidelines and Jason was great at ensuring everyone maintained the rules.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend MWS and would love to do my Level 3 at some stage, so will definitely be coming back.

Never would have thought of joining a zoom wine tasting before lockdown but it worked brilliantly - wines delivered from D. Byrne and Co. in Clitheroe for a weekly tour of the major wine regions of France provided by Simon with the aid of google maps and video clips of interviews with the producers. No babysitters or taxis needed! Highly recommended.

Last Saturday, my husband and I attended a wine tasting at the Holiday Inn Manchester. We had a great time! The group were really pleasant and a lot of fun! Nick was great , very knowledgeable and told us quite a bit we weren't already aware of and the venue was convenient for Piccadilly with a really nice lunch supplied too. The measures were very generous and the bottled water much appreciated. We are already planning our next tasting!

I bought my boyfriend and I tickets to an intro evening. I had no idea what to expect as I'd never been to a wine tasting before but I was really pleasantly surprised. Lisa is a fantastic host, she made it really informal and informative, and she made speaking in front of a group of strangers look easy! I think there were 8 wines to try and each was a good measure, I didn't drink all of mine and still felt tipsy! Thankfully the cheese and bread in the break filled me up! We'd definitely go again, it was good fun and great value for money. It was something different to do, in a nice venue too. Thanks to Lisa for looking after us. X
